my ranking of the 4 different eva endings (now that i finally finished the manga :p)
1. end of eva
2. the manga ending
3. the anime ending

#evangelion#the manga was definitely smth.... but i liked it a lot actually! manga shinji is prob my fav shinji#mainly bc they took out a lot of his sketchier interactions with asuka nd instead kinda highlighted that in his relationship with kaworu?#which i think so funny actually... cuz why is manga kaworu like that 😭#the mangaka made their relationship so fucking volatile for no reason#but yea anyways the ending was? i wouldnt say amazing but tbh it was the best i could hope for in a 'world without evas' type ending#shinji isnt necessarily happy but his face at the end :') hes so hopeful for his future hes actually in a world where he can feel that way#its def better than. a suddenly adult shinji running away with a woman who was friends with his parents before he was born 😭#end of eva still has my whole heart tho... will always be one of my fave pieces of media ever sorryyy#the asuka/shinji dynamic is just so awful in the best way nd i will never not love it#theyre like an eviler version of asaden to me#like yesss continue to wound nd make each other lose faith in humanity#refuse to give each other the understanding nd validation yall both desperately crave
