I am so FRIKEN EXCITED for it, man, you have no idea.

One Piece is obviously going to be very difficult to transition into a live action setting, but i think theyre doing the absolute best they can with the cards they were given. I like to keep my expectations low so that im always surprised, and boy howdy was i surprised with that trailer. I literally watched it like 5 times over in pure glee.

I really cant explain why… i think it’s just the childlike wonder within my soul being like “omg my fav characters doing something fun :O!! Im so excited :DD”

Plus the actors (from what ive seen) are all really fun and i really wanna watch their full on screen chemistry. Like sure its childlike wonder, but its also so much curiosity. Like how are they gonna pull this off :D??

The only thing i could see happening that would make me dislike it is the cgi, but like… i know in my heart that i Will Not Care if the cgi is bad. I used to watch Supergirl AND The Flash CW TV shows and didnt mind.

Actually that’s not true, i have another fear for the show. About a year ago or so there was some kind of leak (idk if its even real or not) for the script that depicted luffy acting not very luffy-like. But like… surely they fixed that. I dont want to live in a world where luffy is depicted giving genuine pep talks and not just telling someone that “yeah if i dont accomplish this then I’m probably dead” (which winds up being more inspiring than anything else he could possibly say)

Plus, if this live action thang turns out to be good????? Ohhhhh ohh hohohoooo. The friends of mine who dont watch one piece and have no intention of watching one piece will be secured tightly in a chair with duct tape and forced to watch it.

I think this little bite sized nugget of one piece could be a lot less pressure to try to get others into since it’ll be so short (in comparison to its 2d counterpart). And who knows, maybe watching the first bit will inspire them to continue watching. :’).

So i guess you can say ive got high hopes.

I can really tell this whole thing has been a labor of love, and thats enough to get me hype.

And also luffy’s actor is very cute.

ALSO her rage when speaking about haircut too, yeah that was the perfect amount of dialogue that i wanted to see from her. her stealing rick’s time of seeing rj’s birth, first steps, etc. UGH. so excellent, you could feel her burning anger in her voice.

all of these callbacks throughout the episode but the best, most important and evident one was the mere fact that they’re a team again. kicking ass, and simply leading each other because that’s what they’re the best at. before any of their romance began, they were trusted confidants who worked so well side by side, and in this episode we got to see and feel the satisfaction and elation of having that back again!!!!!

i felt like i was at a drive thru restaurant ordering the entire episode. can i get some flirting, with a side of ass kicking, and ummm let me get a side of poetic, confessional yearning from rick grimes. yeah, that’ll be all.

rick telling gabriel that he wanted to marry michonne on the bridge. 🥺……. 😡 AND THEN EVERYTHING GOES TO SHIT AFTERWARDS. IMAGINE THE WORLD IF JADIS NEVER KIDNAPPED HIM. GOD ive been turning this over in my head all day and it's so hard to answer in those terms i feel like!!! theyre SUCH a friends to lovers in my mind that they just melt into each other so hard. augh lets see though okay okay lemme try

i DO think they both had crushes on each other in their yj98 days. (i mean... "i know i'm gonna die i just wish i could talk to kon one last time" ???? "hey robin anyone tell you your voice drops like an octave when you get all commander-like" I KNOW WHAT YALL ARE.) but i DON'T think either of them realized it. they were both just kids still way too deep in the closet for that.

tim DEFINITELY started going off the deep end wrt kon's death. i think he was still figuring out the whole "bisexuality" thing while getting whammied left and right by shock/trauma/grief all steamrolling him flat in the world's worst conga line, so i don't think he fully registered that the feelings he was having were explicitly romantic, but he was definitely feeling ways. i mean, like. he absolutely kissed cassie as a substitute for kissing kon. when he actually put it together that thats what he was doing, though... i don't think it all really came together for him until after he was done brucequesting and actually got to breathe and let himself process. he was already head over heels at this point. he just didn't know.

for kon, i think it's this really slow, gradual thing, where feelings of friendship melted into a very deep and intimate bond without words somewhere between "best friends" and "romantic partners", again without him really having the self-awareness to put that sort of label on it. post-resurrection kon is just so introspective, i think it just sorta comes to him one day that, like, oh. he'd like to be close to tim forever. he knows he's into guys at this point but bc of his sexual trauma + dating history i do think it takes him a HOT second to clock that this feeling of intimacy and comfort is, in fact, romantic attraction.

so "who fell first" and "who fell harder" is just so confounded by both of them not even fucking realizing they fell for each other for so long kjsdfjksd like arguably they both fell pretty early, and tim fell REALLY hard while kon was dead, but i also don't think they REGISTERED that at all!!! theyre a lil stupid!!!

My favorite female character: I would be HARD-PRESSED to find a character I find more interesting than Alves. And the thing is that I also do not like her. But I love her. She's so interesting and complex and her inability to accept change for a very long time and her love for everyone around her has compelled me. She's miserable because she feels like she has to be miserable. She would sacrifice herself for everyone around her (and she does), but she would and does also sacrifice everyone around her for the world. And she thinks that's the right thing to do. My girl is so repressed and she pushes her emotion so far down and then either doesn't notice or beats herself up about the fact that it seeps through the cracks regardless. As if emotion is not a very normal and very human and often times very good thing. She RUNS from pain and suffering but she is SURROUNDED by it. And also later she tries to ruin their chances of reuniting to keep any sense of control that she can. Control is SOOOO important to her. If she doesn't have that, what DOES she have? She can't help people without it. She's so interesting and everything about her breaks my heart and also makes me mad and I love her so much. Also all of the other female characters are my 2nd favorites, it was SO hard to choose

My favorite male character: Harley. He's pitiful. OK NO IM JUST KIDDING. HE IS KIND OF PITIFUL SOMETIMES BUT THATS NOT WHY. He does so much good for the site, he's so useful and helpful and essential and he just doesn't see it. He CANT see it. And then when he understands that he IS important, it's not as great as he thought it would feel. And the whole thing with learning to deal with what happened with Lancaster and how to forgive Lancaster AND himself for not seeing what was happening has compelled me. It's killing me. Still. MONTHS after I got to that part it's killing me. AND HE WASNT SPECIFICALLY ANGRY WITH LANCASTER FOR CUTTING HIS ARM OPEN, HE WAS MAD BECAUSE THEYRE SUPPOSED TO BE BEST FRIENDS. (played by charlie slimecicle btw. that guy is so fucking good at balancing silly goofy moments with heartwrenching voice acting. in one of the most recent episodes he is literally. hanging from a hook through his hands missing chunks of skin on 1hp literally only alive because he happened to cast death ward on himself. and hes wearing those goddamn trout fish sandals that u see on facebook ads or whatever.)

uhm. so. holy shit. where do i even start. he is the chosen one of a prophecy that says its his duty to one day choose who will survive between the undersea (triton, underwater creatures, where he grew up) and the oversea (basically. land.) and the other will be destroyed. so when he was very young (i want to say maybe like..5 or 6? i dont remember im actually searching for that info rn for the thing im writing) he was taken away from his family to begin training with the Elders (basically the. rulers of the undersea) . my boy he was raised to be a weapon. he was raised to be a tool (<< real canon words out of his own mouth). my favorite little child soldier. he wore armor that was too big for him and carried swords that were taller than he was. he was raised to put protecting others over his own safety so he rushes out into danger without even thinking about how it might affect him. he is so passively suicidal and ready to sacrifice himself at any minor inconvenience that when this information is eventually put in front of him his response is "what? no, thats what im Supposed to do." a very important phrase for him in early episodes was "whats one more burden?"

also he has a pet frogtopus (frog + octopus) her name is pretzel and she rides around in a little orb on his belt and also on his shoulders sometimes. i love her

'oh i just need to go grab something for mom, she wanted to do a new recipe', 'karamatsu asked me to get him a book on driving' 'i just need to go return something (he has no books to return.)' basic ass excuses. he chickens out way too many times and maybe when he finally gets to talk to them, it's just asking them where to find a book. he'd talk about it being the most romantic thing ever (it wasn't. ghost scoffed at him after he walked back to the library table) when ghost falls in love i think it'd be over time... like after the first few times of seeing choro at the library they're like "ok this guy comes here often. right?" then they ask their coworkers and they said he only started coming in around the same time ghost got temp-hired. like oh...... oh boy. i think they immediately catch on and kind of help him get to talk to them a bit more and they find out they have similar interests (like with manga) so they're cool about it. they sort of realize theyre getting feelings when they actively start to anticipate him being at the library... not like "ohhhhh i hope choromatsu comes in today!!!" but like they wonder about it on the offhand sometimes. maybe when they finally hang out as friends and they get to those enlightening and emotional late-night talks outside they realize mid-conversation when looking at him. 'oh fuck.' 'did you say something?' 'No. nothing at all....' they're in denial at first but they do slowly but. agonizingly warm up to the feelings.... they do start acting a bit more snappy at him but when they come to terms and accept it they go back to normal. smiles
