hey i wanted to talk about robots so heres some lore for my dumb story hope you like it!!!
this has so many notes now pls this is just oc stuff......dont take my ideas....
EMPATHIC NETWORKS

Big, big AIs out as satellites made a long, long time ago. Believed to be mostly magic based but possibly with some archaic code integration. They posses a great degree of intelligence. They help manage infrastructure somewhat, in a neighborly sort of way. Have become regarded more as colleagues than machines, but some still ascribe to the Dumb idea that since we made them, we get to control them. Only 4 were made, with only 3 left in existence. Those would be Isinglass, Hyacinth, Tethys, and Nemaline.  (”Empathic network” is basically a synonym for artificial intelligence).
Sympaths
Not nearly as enigmatic as their predecessors. Synthetic empathic networks are entirely magic based. Inspired by anomalous experiments on what was effectively the primordial soup of magic, theyve been around for a long time (not nearly as long as the ENs but long enough for society to move forward). Theyre “raised” in communal societies focusing on study and research, but once they reach adulthood theyre free to do whatever they want.
Physically, Sympaths are like the traditional view of a robot just with self-propagating magic wherever a circuit board or chip or battery would be. They can replace parts, but total body transfer is considered too risky. Body-modding and using custom kits is pretty common with the Cool Cyberpunk and the Smelly Delinquent crowds. Like Humans, Sympaths have the ability to die.
CONSTRUCTS

The newest “species” of robots. Constructed AI are built entirely from computer and code; they were made to replace the need for a standing military. Constructs are divided into classes, but this is basically because theyre made and trained for a specific purpose, theres really no different between their 1s and 0s. A majority are considered sentient but there are exceptions (one being old Constructs who backslide). As such tho they get a relative degree of freedom, like personal rec time and stuff. No one controls them as much as they just follow orders (failure to compile enough times can result in basically Admin Overriding however). Once their mandated service term is over theyre free to leave and pursue personal goals, tho most dont make it that far.
Constructs appearance is heavily dependent on their weapon class. Being coded machines, constructs can effectively back up themselves up or be transferred between chassis. Components can be replaced with ease. (This near-invulnerability leads many constructs to be fool-hardy and overly reckless).
Predators
Predators are big, tough and animalistic. The physically largest class of Constructs, their large, armor plated arms and legs pack a big hit and double as heavy shielding. In personality, they range from generally jovial in an “i love to break things!” sort of way, to outright cruel.

Range: mid-close (usually attacking the area rather than fighting people, unless up against someone their own size)

Hunters
Hunters are the brains to mirror Predators brawn, these spindly cloaked Constructs are more focused on precision. Theyre cold and solitary, often narcissistic and prone to one-upmanship. They dont get along well with others, and prefer to work alone.

signals/machine hacking
spy work/data gathering
Range: far (typically snipers or using the environment to their advantage, like hijacking an existing security system)
Stats:

Reapers
Reapers are the newest class of Constructs, an improvement on the formula meant to phase out the need for older, collateral-damage prone models. Reapers are unique in that they are hive-minded, having only one true, centralized intelligence (which can control a variable number of units) and “unoccupied” units running on a sub-sentient autopilot.
Skills:
infiltration
hand-to-hand combat
able to use human tools/machines (approx human size and shape)
improved cloaking/speed (covert movement in busy/public places)

Range: close (could be modified using different weapons)
Stats:
highest: speed
lowest: -
Unclassed constructs
Rarely, very basic construct models are made (without any of the inherent weaponry), intended for specific tasks that other Humans and Sympaths arent suited for. This can range from basically working in communications and maintenance, to jobs that pose too much danger to perma-death-enabled staff (like talking down a rampaging Predator).
Blocks
a Block is a construct unit; the standard is two constructs, who are then assigned the same accent color. Being assigned to a block has some benefits above informal partnerships, namely that members gain access to a kind of linked brain space for faster planning/cooperating.
Predators arent usually paired, as they already communicate well. Hunters are often paired for missions that require Working Together, because otherwise theyd Probably Wouldnt. Predator-Hunter pairings are often common due to their complimentary skills.
Blocks for long missions usually have names, and the odd block the bad robos are in is designated block:CERBERUS
