It’d be funny if this accidentally kick started all of the bat-kids having their own queer awakenings (some faster than others).
Like, Jason’s thinking maybe his tendency to take Roy and Lian out to dinner like they’re both her dads isn’t as platonic as he thought it was
Dick’s rethinking every interaction he’s ever had with his best friend Wally
Steph is thinking about her past relationships and comparing them to how she may or may not be feeling about Cass
Cass knows. She learned body language and emotions first and words second so she’s never really been under heteronormative ideas
Damian is researching about different sexualities and stumbles into gender shit that Talia and Ra’s never seemed important for him to know, so he’s having several revelations about himself (themself? Who knows? Not him, not yet)
I don’t know enough about Duke and his cannon/noncannon interactions with non-Gotham superheroes, so idk what his reactions are, but rest assured, he’s having them.
Bruce is unaware that any of this is happening and has been under the impression that non of his kids are straight and that they all knew that he knows and accepts them… if only Clark could realize he’s been flirting with him for literally a decade
*tim’s not out to his siblings yet*
batkids: *comes to the manor* what the…?
alfred:
(art by meruz)
batkids: hey alfie… what you got there?
alfred: oh hello, master/miss. i’m just ironing master timothy’s new bedroom decor that he bought
batkids: tim’s what that he what?

Ok me and a friend got talking and. heres (some of) the things I personally would do if tasked with rewriting Mystreet.
[very brief mentions of Katelyn, Garte + the Lycan parents :>]
Im totally stealing this idea from @bread--squid--uwu but Aph's name is Aphrodite now. Makes sense with the guys all being into her, still keeps the nickname, makes sense for Sylvanna etc
Reducing the ages. It makes noooooo sense to me that theyre all like, 35. They're fresh out of college, like 21-23.
Magic would either be a big part of the world building or removed entirely. Not a fan of the soft magic system. If removed, Lucinda would be a more like, herbs + the moon kinda witch you know? She also likes DnD
knowing more about peoples backstory! Laurance in particular has such little clarification on his family and upbringing
We get to know about all the shady goings on of the Ro'Meave household because theres no way Garte is a good man i do NOT trust him
Katelyn + Travis don't get back together
Aphmau goes to a different college to the others and meets Aaron (max of 2 years older) there because I'd personally like it more if the rest of the group didn't know him beforehand! That way Gar and Laur are able to be upset with the idea of him. I like the idea that they get so in their own heads that they plan out a whole argument that Aaron just. doesn't take the bait on at ALL and they realise that maybe theyre in the wrong for jumping to conclusions.
The ultima Werewolf thing would have to be totally revamped idc. I dont remember how its explained in the show, but I like the idea of it being a curse on the family possibly by Lucinda's ancestors. (Melissa + Lucinda could have a moment too!)
KC has like a common Japanese name because it reflects her fear of being forgettable (?). Also she is actually asian
CHARACTERS HAVE LAST NAMES. Except for Lucinda because again, I want the magic to be more prevalent and I think its cute that shes kinda the odd one out
Zane is Autistic and its discussed! I want Garroth to learn to respect his boundaries
On the same note, Garroth and Zane actually make up. I think Zane and Laurance being worsties is fun but the brothers need to be on neutral ground at LEAST.
Aaron is introduced early on. I don't really care how, but him being introduced half way into season 1 is partly the reason Aarmau is so rushed
People have identities. Not everyone needs an exploration or a label, but at the very least, Katelyn is Bisexual throughout the series and Garroth, Laurance, Melissa, Lucinda and Teony are some flavour of gay
Teony is more relevant. she doesn't have to be in the main group but I'd love to see her more like she works at the mall or smthn
The Garroth/Laurance/Aph dynamic changes majorly. They still constantly are trying to one-up each other by sweeping her off her feet but its more playful than anything serious. They get super competitive abt it but its still a but of fun. Whether she likes either of them isn't important. What is, though, is that Gar + Laur are absolutely unknowingly competing for eachother's attention. Maybe theres a cringy little moment where theyre like, "Well I would take her to get SUSHI!" "well I would- wait I LOVE sushi!" you know what I mean? also they actually have a conversation about the kiss at the play instead of just incoherently screaming (theres also some of that tho)
The Lycan family dont get a redemption arc
Dante and Aphmau need something because they could be sooo good but their dynamic is lacking so theyre cousins now. Maria and Sylvanna are sisters or something i dont know.
Also, Gene doesnt have that weird thing going on with Aph in high-school. He's now her friend who gives her a twix sometimes and hisses at Ivy
Totally biased but Id really want Garroth and Laurance's queerness explored. If its a first for either or both of them, how they feel about it, how they're navigating it. I want them coming out to not be a big deal but I want it to be a realisation.
I dont remember who came up with this but Laurance had Cadenza dye his hair ginger for a while because he wanted to feel like part of the new family? adorable. love it. Also Caleb doesnt exist purely because he throws a wrench in the adoption thing
The street has a name. I dont care what but it has a name
Id do something different with the maid cafe, not sure what yet. I dont think Aph would own it, though.
Aphmau's character is more of what it was in season one. Like the girl you call when youre drunk at 2am and she makes sure you get home safe and then brings you sweets kinda vibe? shed get you out of a tough situation
Aaron + Aphmaus relationship is a more relaxed version of what it was in season one, too. They can be romantic or platonic, but they like watching movies and teasing each other not. doing whatever they do in s3 and onwards.
PEOPLE SAY SORRY.
Dante & Travis: The Show is a podcast that Dante and Travis run twice a week. Its world renowned (16 regular viewers)
Garroth is british. Britain exists in this universe and any towns/cities/villages Jess named are somewhere within the USA
Laurance characters get consistent colour pallets.
Dante is trans literally just so i can fight off Squid's Two minute Two Dick Dante agenda (/j)
#me rn clenching my fists and trying not to start developing a rewrite#thats it for now but theres definitely more#thanks to anyone who inspired any of this lmao#apollo says stuff#squid tag#mystreet#aphmau#aphmau mystreet#aphverse#aphblr#laurance zvahl#laurance mystreet#aphmau garroth#garroth ro'meave#mystreet garroth#aaron lycan#long post

I'm making a queer pokemon dnd thing
(unrelated to past pokemon dnd things ive done) The idea is that the players are all some flavour of queer, and theyre trying to spread pride and love through the land through the power of Friendship and also Violence, helping people (and eachother) discover themselves along the way Its supposed to be a mostly funny, slightly real, cathartic campaign, and a way for me to kind of vent / work through things (by myself while building the setting)
Give me your headcanons for what pokemon a queerphobic evil team would use and why!
So far I have mons like zebstrika (straight flag) gumshoos (trump hair) mandibuzz (its name in japanese sounds like a terf url, "vulgina")
it can be anything from a long and genuine analysis to "im gay and a beartic killed my pokemon in a nuzlocke once"

@hyumjim the seukijis at pride (for purposes of making this easy for myself im assuming they all experience some flavour of same sex attraction)
chan: slutting his way through queer liberation one impromptu make out sesh at a time. knows everyone is probably friends with the organizers of the parade. somehow shows up at every single afterparty in the city. either very high on speed or just genuinely like that. probably wearing a jockstrap n a leather harnesss (thats the whole fit) (still wearing trainers)
minho: its not that he doesnt think its fun its that he's been out for 12 years and he already goes to the gay clubs when he wants to why would he be bothered to deal with drunk idiots n straight ppl who think theyre cute? might show up to an afterparty or two and drink a lil before going home at like 11 pm cause he wants to go hiking the next day or some bullshit
changbin: drag queen booked for every night of the month his persona is like if miss piggy was also a rapper
hyunjin: he is so emtionally invested in everything, ppl think he came out like yesterday but no he just never learned emotional regulation. cries and laughs and drinks too much and pukes. changbin finds him so cute tho. really really wants to enjoy more but he finds it all sooo stressful
felix: slutting it up pt.2 molly twink ver. he is light he is free he is fun he is a blouse this is his journey

I was listening to a podcast I usually like, talking about ‘The Mitchell’s vs The Machines’, which is a movie from last year about this extremely neurodivergent family who end up fending off the AI robot takeover by being just too unpredictable for the robots. And they’re talking about how its such good queer rep (it is, the protagonist is very queer in relatively subtle ways because her queerness isnt relevant to the plot, but it is definitely there). And then they mention, there’s some theories that the younger brother might “be on the autism spectrum” but thats only because of one or two traits we see and theyre not there to armchair diagnose cartoon characters on their podcast. And I’m so incredibly frustrated about it. See, the whole movie through, they talk about how weird and unique and quirky this family is, pick any adjective except for ‘autistic’ or ‘neurodivergent’. And it could be such good rep in that way, except they never say it. Im going to be kind and assume the higher ups made them never recognise it in words on screen. And Im frustrated that of course its the little boy people have picked out to ‘maybe be somewhere on the autism spectrum’. Our introduction to this kid, who's idk 8, is him going through the phone book calling every single person looking for someone who will talk to him about dinosaurs. The protagonist, Kate, has a special interest in cinema, and makes these mashup collage videos. The dad does woodwork, I think, and its very clear that he and Kate have mismatched neurodivergences and they struggle to communicate and end up fighting in the beginning quite a bit. The entire movie is about a neurodivergent family and how their SpIns help them fight the AI robots and how they learn to communicate with each other when their brains work differently. Its blatant to anyone with half a clue about what that looks like. And they just call it weird. Quirky. We’re such a weird family. We saved the day because we’re weird and we love being weird. JUST SAY NEURODIVERGENT. OR AUTISTIC. Or whichever flavour of neurodivergent they were clearly written to be, I dont necessarily recognise all of it. Anyway. Its a really fun movie. I do recommend it. I just wish it was recognised for all of what it is.

Yeah, i meant that people whos entire personality is that theyre gay, i dont really like personally. But for alota people, those are the people/characters they assosiate with lgbt stuff because they (and i did) not realize that all the rest of lgbt people acted like normal people, so you didnt know. What im saying is nitw has better representation then alot of people do in real life. Theyre people.
OKAY! yeah, good!!I hate when people try to be hip and cool by making characters whose only traits are : gay and gayer. Or when they try to get others to play games/watch shows and the only thing they have to say is: “this character is GAY!” (and then turns out the character isn’t even gay, the character is actually straight, and dating a person that they genuinely love, but the character has a best friend of the same sex...which is the same :)))) )Also, with a side flavour of “this character has shown to be interested in more than one gender...dang...whats the name for that......oh right. they’re gay. only gay. they were never ever interested in someone of the opposite gender haha, that was just a phase. Bi? whats that? is it on the periodic table of elements? Pan? you mean like..cooking pan? haha oh man, im so smart.like, I know a lot of people hate the way JK Rowling brought up the fact that Dumbledore was gay and how it isnt real representation and yadah yadah. and to be really honest, I hate how she kind of pats herself on the back about it, BUT. I like how it was brought up, it didn’t need to be written in the books: “Dumbledore sure does love men” just like it wouldn't be necessary to be written “Dumbledore sure loves women”. Sometimes some things are just...not mentionned in books because there is never an opportunity for it to be mentionned. (the only teacher in HP that talks about his crush or something is Snape as far as i remember, because it’s directly linked to Harry and the story)I mean, i write characters, I genuinely like putting queer characters in my stories, because, heck, I’m queer myself. HELL, sometimes i have to stop myself from making too many bi/pan characters because part of me is like “I want everyone to be able to love everyone. “ but then i remember it’s not very logical...because people are more varied than that .But some characters are in what I call the “sexuality abyss”. they don't have a set sexuality because it is never addressed and it doesn’t need to be for their character arc/ the interactions they have with the other characters. but if someone came up to me and said “HEY, ID IMAGINE THIS CHARACTER COULD BE GAY BECAUSE I THINK THEY'D FIT WITH SO AND SO CHARACTER and yadah yadah” I’d probably be like “hmm, I never thought about it, but yeah, that makes sense, that character is now gay. have fun!”
#sorry i went slghlty off topic#because im a bitter bi#a BI tter#a panxhausted#im gonna stop there both of these are fucing terrible#jen rambles#asks#Anonymous
