Yeah, i meant that people whos entire personality is that theyre gay, i dont really like personally. But for alota people, those are the people/characters they assosiate with lgbt stuff because they (and i did) not realize that all the rest of lgbt people acted like normal people, so you didnt know. What im saying is nitw has better representation then alot of people do in real life. Theyre people.
OKAY! yeah, good!!I hate when people try to be hip and cool by making characters whose only traits are : gay and gayer. Or when they try to get others to play games/watch shows and the only thing they have to say is: “this character is GAY!” (and then turns out the character isn’t even gay, the character is actually straight, and dating a person that they genuinely love, but the character has a best friend of the same sex...which is the same :)))) )Also, with a side flavour of “this character has shown to be interested in more than one gender...dang...whats the name for that......oh right. they’re gay. only gay. they were never ever interested in someone of the opposite gender haha, that was just a phase. Bi? whats that? is it on the periodic table of elements? Pan? you mean like..cooking pan? haha oh man, im so smart.like, I know a lot of people hate the way JK Rowling brought up the fact that Dumbledore was gay and how it isnt real representation and yadah yadah. and to be really honest, I hate how she kind of pats herself on the back about it, BUT. I like how it was brought up, it didn’t need to be written in the books: “Dumbledore sure does love men” just like it wouldn't be necessary to be written “Dumbledore sure loves women”. Sometimes some things are just...not mentionned in books because there is never an opportunity for it to be mentionned. (the only teacher in HP that talks about his crush or something is Snape as far as i remember, because it’s directly linked to Harry and the story)I mean, i write characters, I genuinely like putting queer characters in my stories, because, heck, I’m queer myself. HELL, sometimes i have to stop myself from making too many bi/pan characters because part of me is like “I want everyone to be able to love everyone. “ but then i remember it’s not very logical...because people are more varied than that .But some characters are in what I call the “sexuality abyss”. they don't have a set sexuality because it is never addressed and it doesn’t need to be for their character arc/ the interactions they have with the other characters. but if someone came up to me and said “HEY, ID IMAGINE THIS CHARACTER COULD BE GAY BECAUSE I THINK THEY'D FIT WITH SO AND SO CHARACTER and yadah yadah” I’d probably be like “hmm, I never thought about it, but yeah, that makes sense, that character is now gay. have fun!”
