Other emperors in Chinese history: In order to prevent my tomb from being robbed, I’m going to build it on a remote mountain, hide it in a vast underground palace, and set a bunch of booby traps
The controversial and self aware emperors: I will do all of the above and hide the location of my tomb so my enemies cannot find it and desecrate it after my death
Liu Bei, Emperor of Shu: My tomb is in a royal temple right smack in the middle of my country’s capital, in the busiest area of the city. I am buried in a mound with my belongings, above ground.
Liu Bei’s son: I’m going to put Zhuge Liang’s temple right across the street from my father’s temple and grave
A governor of Sichuan, a few hundred years later: Zhuge Liang’s temple is much more popular among the everyday folk than the royal temple across the street. In order to uphold royal honor, let’s combine the two temples so that people have to pay their respects to the late emperor when they want to pray at Zhuge Liang’s shrine!
The people of Sichuan: Okay, we’ll refer to the combined temple as Zhuge Liang’s temple because we like him more, even though it’s technically also Liu Bei’s grave
Grave robbers, when they find the graves of other emperors: This grave is in the middle of nowhere, the closest village is a few days walk, and nobody even remembers where the grave is anymore so it should be safe for us to camp out here for a couple days, locate an entrance to the grave, and dig!
Grave robbers, when someone suggests robbing Liu Bei’s tomb: Everybody knows his tomb is in Zhuge Liang’s temple, which is one of the most popular temples in the province. The temple is in the busiest and thus one of the most closely policed districts in the city, surrounded by restaurants, markets, and residential homes. This is the temple where the city people come to pray for good luck and hold their annual festivals. I don’t think we could get away with camping out and digging here in the middle of the city.
And because for the last ~1800 years the city remained densely inhabited and the temple popular among the city folk and visitors alike, Liu Bei’s grave became the only royal grave from the three kingdom’s period that remained undisturbed by robbers.

I in know way mean this as a criticism, but I have noticed when you do walk cycles and other animations, the characters move in a kinda jerky and limited way, common to animation of the N64/PS1 era, rather than the more fluid and lifelike way a lot of animation is now. Is that something you deliberately go for when you do that, or does the limit on polygons and thus limit on deformation just make that a natural consequence? Have you tried putting a more complex modern animation on these characters?
Actually, that criticism is fair, if you don’t like it! I do -intentionally- go for janky animations. My models and rigs are capable of more fluid and natural looking motion, I simply choose to go with movement more fitting of the era that inspired them. I haven’t tried recently with doing more complex or modern animation, but only because I typically do not have the time for the refinement and polish such would require.
Thanks for asking! -Mark

Could you elaborate more on pigeons or doves as pets? I've been wanting to get a bird, but I hadn't considered those; I was mostly trying to decide between a cockatiel or a parakeet.
yo, mod csilla here. i own some pigeons.
pigeons/doves are definitely easier to take care of than parrots. they arent as loud or demanding and dont need a buncha fancy toys. they can be pretty sweet and cuddly if you find one with the right personality. my first pigeon was a baby feral that had fallen out of her nest. i raised her and she would spend all day just napping on my shoulder. or, in the case of her grandson, you get a horny little hellion who does nothing but strut in circles and coo at the cockatiel all day. and when he does come to sit on my shoulder he pecks my face if i look at him. then has the audacity to stare at me pitifully from behind the wiring of his cage when i throw him back outside.
ANYWAY
im not the best in describing things but you can make a pretty sweet pigeon home out of a big guinea pig/rabbit cage. they like flat surfaces and platforms to sit on. make sure they have lots of room to dance. they also like to have boxes to nest in. you can give them some bird toys but i can 90% guarantee you that if you see them “playing with them theyre really just attacking them for being in the way. (that being said, malphas - the above-mentioned hellion - does seem to like playing with a little cat ball with a bell in it. hes a weirdo)
if you have any other questions hit me up at faizebeleth

Music Tag Game
I was tagged by @thesteamgoth to list ten songs I've been listening to a lot lately! Here they are in no particular order and just for fun I’m gonna share my favourite lyric from each song!
We Are Nobody Else by Lady Lamb
There's nothing holier than the laughter of our friends And there's nothing more I need, I have everything I've got the gold in your hair, the sun in your hair I've got the honey in your hair And my hands in your hair night into day
As It Was by Hozier
There is a roadway Muddy and foxgloved Whenever I'd had life enough My heart is screaming out
Cleopatra by The Lumineers
But I was sad you asked it, as I laid in a black dress With my father in a casket, I had no plans
Mowgli's Road by MARINA
I'll escape if I try hard enough, ‘til King of the Jungle calls my bluff!
Sunlight by Hozier
Whose heart would not take flight? Betray the moon as acolyte On first and fierce affirming sight Of sunlight, sunlight, sunlight
Perfect World by Broken Bells
We look for exit signs But we can't be changed Into nothing overnight
Emmylou by First Aid Kit
Oh the bitter winds are coming in And I'm already missing the summer Stockholm's cold but I've been told I was born to endure this kind of weather
Jackie and Wilson by Hozier
Lord she found me just in time 'Cause with my mid-youth crisis all said and done I need to be youthfully felt, 'cause God I never felt young
Champions of Red Wine by The New Pornographers
It's what we're known for, the fine art of crossed lines Crossed for old times, like starting over
Trashbag Baby by SWMRS
My heart breaks, it shatters I spend all of June trying to pick up the shards Oh yeah, oh no, I should have known better But I'm not bitter
I tag @mascmalfunction @therealghoulfieri @pbjplatypus @thelonelyrainbowenby @theymightbegiantsquids @abalonetea and @gaymilksnake ! Give me your jams! (and if you wanna do lyrics too, I would love to know what lyrics are standing out to ya’ll lately!)
#yes I know I have three entire hozier songs listen this entire LIST could be hozier songs#GOD sunlight is such a masterpiece of a song#i mean they ALL are but#MAN#also we are nobody else by lady lamb fills me with such emotion#actually one reason in common for why I love both lady lamb and hozier#is that they both have deep running themes of loving others as a divine act#and that is a philosophy that has been on my mind SO much lately as I continue to be grateful for all the love I'm able to give and receive#I'm hoping to write my own poem/song about it soon#but anyway I digress

What is the scariest ghost story you know?
There are two. The first is from a woman who had a ghost of a man, who she considered her son, in her house. She was told a ghost story about the house where the ghost was – there was something in the house, something very evil and threatening, and the ghost, being aware that the house would eventually be hers, was terrified of it.
This was terrifying enough that the ghost got rid of the house it was in when she was away. But when she got back, she had this house all to herself. The ghost lived on. And the evil thing came back.
The next story is about a young man who married this girl whose parents were not fond of his wife. So they put her out on the streets to sleep rough. One night the girl wandered in to the house where this man was staying, and his new in-laws were so horrified by what she was doing that they let her back in.
The ghost was scared of his new wife, and started throwing furniture around to scare her. She had a daughter, about four years old. The daughter was always in bed with the ghost, which freaked out the in-laws. The daughter got older and older as the years went on, and was sleeping in the ghost's bed, with the ghost lying over her. Then, when the ghost was on his deathbed, the daughter was the one who got him into bed. They were very close.
And then, one morning, the father and daughter were found in the house. The father's body had been burned beyond recognition, but the daughter was in no condition to be seen. She'd been killed, her head smashed in.
But her ghost was alive because the ghost had no head.
And that's the scary story.

As a trans woman its making me super uncomfortable when non-trans women start trotting out "x group is just as bad as TERFs". You don't have to deal with TERFs, you have no idea how bad they are and you have no basis to compare others to them. Stop using transmisogyny as a rhetorical device to justify your own garbage.
to be fair, some of the people making the comparison are trans women, but im p sure majority arent

*hug* I’m sorry if I contributed to this, and I’ll do better. If there is anything you need let me know
LMAO it’s not you, it’s all the emails I’m getting from newsletters I’m subbed to trying to sell me things to “give to my mom”
all I can get her is some flowers and put them at the grave (which I still haven’t been to see the headstone in person and I’m going to break. jfc)
