Pictured are some of the comic ideas I have lined up for the two AUs ^^ if you guys can agree to choosing one (ONE) to draw first after I finish the BS Prologue, I'll release the Stage 4 lineup and reveal who this kid is

tbh one thing i liked about the instas that i dont think the series will bring back is him wearing casual clothes outside of work. the concept of a gay male sinner from the 1940s embracing modern day fashion from the current era because of how cute it is without anyone caring because its hell, (with the implication he mightve been doing this for decades beforehand before he came to the hotel,) is just really cool concept to me :3 it gave him a fashion identity outside of his sex work (something the show really doesnt do at all,) and it let him explore a more cutesty side to his character, but in a really natural way! i also just liked it because most of the sinners we saw tended to stick to dressing from their era, which made angel stand out more.

but this isnt present at all in the series, and even weirder, the one time he has a chance to put on pajamas in episode 2 like the girls have, where hes alone in his room with fat nuggets, he doesnt. maybe we wouldve had time for that if there wasn't a joke dedicated to showing how tone deaf and christian charlies morals are for the bisexual daughter of lucifer morningstar.

all the clothes he wears, there's more of a focus of his outfits from posion rather then anywhere else. i hardly see as much fanart of that stupid ugly ripped finale suit, as much as i see fanart of the latex suit angel wears while singing about being unable to help swallowing poison. either that, or the outfit he wears while dancing with val. love the fluffy spider butt, but cmon. we can get an angel dust design thats more spider in a natural way, but we can't see him wear casual clothes when he isnt working? or even see him in a full suit? (i really miss the purple suit from the instas, no stupid pink stripes, full suit for both arms, and his boobs were out w his tie instead of being hidden away like they are in the finale, which was perfect for his character </3)

him wearing clothes separate to his identity as a pornstar also helped him reclaim some of his freedom under his contract, obviously being unable to choose what val makes him wear on set. that's what angel dusts actions reflected in the instas and the comics too. (the "work shit" box comes to mind, i hate that borderline on screen rape is fine for an amazon funded show, but a box of dildos is too much,) even the addict mv shows this, with angel wearing just a pink sweater and some purple shorts when laying with cherri. or even just the casual, but cute outfit he wears when he blows up that club with her.

its just one of the few things that made him feel human, especially when fashion is bound to change in so many ways when youve been in hell for 77 years like he has. this part of his character being missing (along with the implication he even has a life outside of his work in the series; pilot ad was coping with work with hard drugs, being an teasing asshole as a defensive mechanism, getting into turf wars and murdering mafia goons. but still dresses cute and gets to be cute w his friends in his own time! series ad is coping by self destructing and letting people drug and fuck him so he'll be "broken" but then gets better by going out once after being waterboarded at work, only to not relax and be a mom to a joke character at a club called fucking consent,) is one of the reasons im still bitter about the instas being nuked. but not the only reason.

viv will always takes the credit for them anyway, no matter if she feels they do or not, because her fanbase isn't smart enough to realize someone else wrote these stories they still love. even if theyll be the first one to remind you they arent canon, because the creator said they arent. but my honest to god confession is that sometimes the instagrams feel more like the canon hazbin hotel to me, even months after s1 dropped, simply due to the nuance and detail it has compared to the actual series. it wasnt perfect, but you could tell there was passion there- passion that now, only the leads are allowed to put in hazbin so their favorite character can get more screentime and attention.

Thank you, Anon, for this absolutely beautiful writeup. It was true, seeing the difference between the outfits Val forced him into versus the outfits he chose to wear on his own time was one of the most interesting aspects of Instagram Angel Dust. It was a more safe-for-work extension of the "work shit" dildoes that didn't make it to Amazon Prime (while his graphic on-screen gang rape did) and it was powerful.

Of course, there are practical logistical reasons why cartoon characters wear the same outfit, but if only one character in HH was going to have a big wardrobe, it absolutely should have been Angel. But of course it wasn't, because as far as Viv and Raph were concerned, the only Angel outfits that mattered were the ones that fed into their shared fetish.

welcome to the usual keep reading lore yapping section. will try to keep this fairly concise but i make no promises it did not stay concise. im sorry in advance

aoharu - park sekai vs theme: high school students in a band, but unlike leoni vs, their afterschool practices are outside of the school

miku - the "cool senpai", except shes not actually older than aoharu... in fact, shes younger than all of aoharu (if only barely younger than ichika)! shes a 1st year high schooler like ichisaki! but she is the mentor figure to them in her experience with music. - shes also not actually that "cool" once you get to know her, although shes pretty chill shes also got some rather silly interests. including collecting stickers to stick on her guitar case. - the main vocalist of the band, but shes got a bit of experience with most of the instruments that the others play. shes no expert but she knows how to play any of them. currently trying to improve her guitar skills! she brings it around with her a lot of the time for the impression it gives to others

len - alongside rin, they main guitar and keyboard. most of the time its len on guitar and rin on keyboard, but theyre both capable of filling both roles and swap occasionally. hes the one usually helping miku improve her guitar skills! unlike miku though, he doesnt carry his guitar around everywhere he goes. - playful but laidback. hell mess with his friends but hes not going around getting into trouble besides that, really - also a 1st year! in fact, the kagamines and miku are childhood friends :) theyve managed to stick together for a long time

yyj - backstage sekai vs theme: idols who have been kind of... abandoned by their management and have to take up those roles themselves

miku - cheerful, bubbly, what you'd typically expect from an idol... except shes also stressed out of her mind because yeah, the sekai isnt exactly... hospitable, to say the least. it doesnt always show and she can cool down from it, but when you live in a world of sprawling hallways and rooms that should have people in them but dont, it definitely has some Effects. - when shes not worrying about that shes quite dedicated to her practice, after all, an idol never stops! - her energy transfers into a bit of everything she does, really. fast talker, fast walker, she can be hard to keep up with if you arent ready for it.

luka - a more mature, gentle idol. she can put on plenty of energy when performing, but she takes things at an easier pace outside of practice. she enjoys her quiet free time. - a lot less tense than miku is about the whole sekai situation, not to say she doesnt feel the effects of it either. shes just better at hiding her feelings about it.

fts - alleyway sekai vs theme: street musicians, but in a darker, rougher direction than vbs

miku - is this a miku or a mikuo? no one really knows and theyre not telling. theyll answer to miku regardless. - very much a troublemaker, gets into fights a lot. can be tough to get along with because theyre pretty abrasive, but they also know their purpose as a sekai miku. getting help from them can just be frustrating sometimes - kaito has been trying to get them to cool down a bit, to mixed success

kaito - livehouse owner (i havent named his livehouse yet...), kind of a stern dad guy. cool, tough, serious, you get the idea. not a bad guy, but he will be hard on fts and the other vs when they need to be straightened out. - despite that, his livehouse is open to performers of all experience levels. just prove youre willing to give it your best shot and hell let you perform. this is a problem for fts, when theyre struggling to get things together as a unit.

hapisen - headquarters sekai vs theme: comic book/cartoon superheroes! they even live in a superhero tower!

miku - shes kinda your straightforward superhero prodigy type, extremely talented as a hero despite her young age. loud, energetic, but very kind and happy to help anyone in need. - by extension shes also got your very typical superhero powers. flight, super strength, etc. she doesnt use them that often around the base though, in fact, most of the vs dont use their powers in the base that often. better off saving them for when theyre out doing hero things!

rin - one half of a superhero pair, obviously. her powers do function on their own and shes capable of doing things without help, but shes a bit weak on her own. but when together with len, their powers amplify to something stronger than either of them separately. i think they probably have electricity powers. - shes a bit reckless in the field, but shes very enthusiastic about being a superhero! super high energy girl, always bouncing around the base getting ready for whenever shes needed next

kyushumi - woodland sekai vs theme: fae royalty, specifically with a butterfly style focus

miku - very quiet and reserved, shes a bit awkward during interactions with most people, but shes well meaning. no ones sure where she came from, even the other vs, and that might have something to do with how she acts - she will stare at you from the bushes and youll just have to get used to it. shes just curious about things, and she wants to observe kyushumi to figure out the best ways she can try to help them.

meiko - technically the fae queen? but she doesnt often act like it, she tries to be more approachable. shes still got a bit of an imposing aura, but shell act more warm and kind to those around her. she is secretive though, and despite her kindness, theres a bit of detachment from everyone. - mikus guardian, since no one really knows how miku got here, so someone has to keep an eye on her. she also considers herself kyushmis guardian, but since theyre not always within reach due to the disconnect between sekais and the real world, theres only so much she can do. she tries her best with what she can

when everyone gets away from dune, they go to stay with blade, and considering Both of descents missing sons just showed up on his doorstep obviously hes gonna contact her lol

i think it will take fire a Long time to be comfortable around her or even rivers, but im sure they'll get there eventually. he has a Lot of healing to do but i think with his family hes got a good support system. after the very scary experience they just survived, rivers and phrases decide that political work isnt what they want to be doing, and space has already known for a long time that theyd rather be doing Anything else but now they actually have a chance. fresh starts for everyone! theyll go through it together!

whimsys gonna come join them at some point too. i deny her staying with space in the off string au, so she can keep one of her siblings here

if he moves in w blade then he can be friends with wrench too. theyre similar ages, and ive been wanting to give wrench anything at all to do at any time lol. idk if you guys even remember wrench. its the yellow one here, it was in the comic where des goes to blades house

anyways. it will take a long time. but someday fire will be comfortable with his family again. it will take a lot of unlearning and a lot of patience and a lot of love but i like to think hes got that now

okay there are a lot of things that im excited for in season 3 of heartstopper for both film brain reasons and fandom reasons so lets just get to it:

in a recent interview with jenny and joe, joe mentioned how he and georgina (who plays jane) got to improvise their argument scenes and i quote: "if you can’t hear us speaking, we’re just saying the most horrible and rude things to each other that could never be in Heartstopper" so that means in my mind that a lot of scene such as the this winter argument are going to be either under the same general umbrella OR a completely different interpretation of the argument in the book which im psyched for

if theyre gonna do the split perspectives like the journal entries in episode 4! i can def get how that could be difficult but with the talk from alice about how special 4 is, i think it might be cool to see an unseen format for this particular section of the story

how they handle elle being at a different school after finally getting into a relationship with tao

WHATS THE VIBE GONNA BE AT NICKS BIRTHDAY cuz we know what happens after so are we gonna see that tension leading up or not? especially since we have other characters in the mix now

how will they tie the jack maddox minicomic to the seasons plot? i think its happening in episode 7 or 6 by my guess but either way we will SEE!

back to the topic of the journal entries, since the timeline goes "episode 4 nicks pov/charlies, episdoe 5 no main pov, episode 6 charlies pov w therapy and all that", will they shift around events or move where the voiceover happens specifically?

yea the whole immortality part of their relationship is kinda what makes it interesting to me, since its like a secret 3rd type of relationship that mortals dont experience. like, with humans, if we’re away from eachother theres always a chance the other could get hurt or die or something, especially if its someone we lose contact with. but with immortality(with the added healing factors) its like..theyre always gonna be there whether you’ve seen them recently or not. it takes Life Partner to a whole new meaning. and its basically impossible to be expected to hold a monogamous relationship with that type of thing involved, hence why its a seperate form of relationship entirely. something thats changing as they both change, going up n down from close to distant to falling in love all over again, till the planet dies. its why ‘nobody kills you but me’ holds so much meaning between them, since its a promise to both keep living as long as the others still around, and that theyll also always be around to help(tho, mostly onesided unfortunately)

the above paragraph is mostly about the comics, but theres still a similar thing going on in origins, just a different take on it. i know im like The wolvertooth guy, but im actually a fan of them having platonic love for eachother too!(love n relationships are something i think about a lot due to my own confusing experiences with autism and being on the aro + ace spectrums).

i think at the heart of any of their bonds with eachother is just…feeling like equals. feeling like they know eachother. that theyre connected at a core level. so no matter how much time goes by or how much they change, theres still that eternal familiarity.

when nobody is available and the other main agents can't babysit they probably get haruno and/or naomi to do it bc i feel like they would be happy to!!! on the pm side, probably higuchi and maybe gin bc…idc if shes an assassin i think she could be good with kids. kouyou and yosano are like the cool aunts too they love the kid!!

i also kind of thought they likely got umm a surrogate for the babey :)

as for more just domestic stuff in general i think they both like sleeping on kunikida's chest rahahhhh... and dazai gets the honor of playing with both chuuya AND kunikida's hair hes so lucky for real.

together i think kunikida and chuuya are rly able to help when dazai's mental health takes a turn for the worse. since both of them provide different kinds of reassurance he needs it rly helps :) and if one of them is out while dazai is in one of those states theyll usually text the other and ask him to bring home something nice 4 dazai like...chocolates or his favorite takeout or smth !!!

i also think sometimes chuuya uses his ability to just pick kunikida up and make him stop working when he buries himself in paperwork. like...nah youre coming to bed with us actually . and of course dazai was in on it and gets to be squished between his two boyfriends rahhh theyre soooo cute

i am OVER THE MOON that you asked!! i'll give a little abridged version of their history first [mostly because i wanna do a more in-depth post later.. id feel weird doing that on an ask OTL] and then get to the present-day fun stuff ^__^

the two of them met in college, when they were in their second year! keiko was friend's with kiru's roommate at the time, which is how they met. it took a few months for them to actually get to be Familiar with one another, mostly because they were in wildly different courses and had absolutely zero classes in common [keiko was studying for librarian certs and kiru was shooting to get into a more prestigious veterinary school once her bachelor's was done], but they were both pretty interested in each other since they always really enjoyed the few conversations they Would get to have. once classes + schedules changed and allotted for more free time, the two of them started hanging out more and more and became friends Very quickly.

their third year is when they started to Actually get close, though; even though their personal experiences were very different on paper, i think they both related in that they felt similar ways about themselves, especially in relation to other people. in particular i have a very specific comic idea in my head related to keiko learning makeup and other skills from kiru; since the latter had so many bad experiences with cosmetics and trying to appear "feminine" in the past, i think she was Very careful about making sure keiko knew that she didnt have to do anything she didn't want to, and that above all else it should be fun for her. this assurance helped keiko navigate her own personal tastes and preferences much more easily, and it brought the two of them much closer together. they decided to try out dating at the end of their third year in college and have been together ever since :,)

during the early stages of their relationship, i think kiru tried to take her on a lot more ""fancy""/nice dates since she felt like she had to impress her, but over time they both realized they kind of hated that LMFAO. they both tend to be pretty adventurous and would try Anything once, but i think they would like going on movie dates the most :-) in particular they both really enjoy watching movies that they KNOW are gonna be bad just so they can make fun of them later on. theyll stay in just to watch movies so bad they dont even MAKE it to the theaters sometimes!

as for their actual dynamic. i think keiko is probably still the more direct/"assertive" one? thats not to say kiru Isnt direct or assertive when she needs to be, but keiko has more of that confidence across the board. "somebody's gotta tell the waiter i ordered mashed potatoes and it aint gonna be be" or however that quote goes. shes still got a little of her upbringing baked into her behavior is all! they tend to be a pretty jokey couple as well; theyre always looking for silly ways to annoy one another or just to make each other laugh. i like to think of them as the kind of couple that seems like theyve been together for much longer than they really have... like the kind of people where youre genuinely shocked when you find out they Havent been married for 20 years even though you know that would be impossible

that said when it comes to like, domestic life, they split household chores and daily tasks pretty evenly [the main exception here is that keiko Cannot cook to save her life... that lady could burn cold cereal and its hardly an exaggeration]. both of them are very diligent, and are the kind of people who prefer to plan ahead/keep track of a schedule [a vet + a librarian is kind of a winning combination when it comes to keeping a schedule], so when it comes to vacations or the like theyre both very well-prepared! theyre the type of people have one of those gay little dry-erase wall calendars hanging somewhere.

well. i'm upset that the shows going to have a difficult time having more serious scenes now. and that's probably what it's going to try and set itself up for.

i reaaaally would have loved to see this show do something ACTUALLY different and good. by different i mean in terms of writing and not necessarily drifting from source material. yes i'm still sour over last ep, but i wouldn't be AS sour if everyone on the show didn't treat harry and asta's relationship as "mother and child." and also if the show didn't take such a nose dive into the type of comedy it's putting out.

ALSO? IN A RECENT INTERVIEW? Sheridan going on to state that harry would lose his first """love""" (more like lust. awesome that a show trying to teach human emotion gets those two things mixed up) and then realize there's love everywhere or something? why does this feel like "weird" people are forever left to the role of outcasts. already fucked it up once i guess the guy's trying to fuck it up more. could've just left it at "he'll lose his first love, then he will have to reconcile with his feelings." but he had to drop in that last corny bit.

like. the show's source is already good. i don't understand all these decisions they're making to try and make it seem "unique." and now to get numbers back they're dumbing it way down. WHICH. BY DOING SO. HOW ARE YOU GOING TO HAVE YOUR DRAMA? like how am i supposed to take anything seriously in the show. i *could* in season 1 and parts of season 2, but now it's just whatever. it's too goofed up for me to care. and now people who love the goofy won't give two shits about whatever message you want to drop or plot you want to develop. i dont give a shit about the greys!!! i dont care what theyre doing!!!! who gives a fuck if theyll blow up the earth. none of the characters really care anymore either. oh well!!!

also, predictions kind of. i'm not trying to say this will be the be all end all but it certainly could be a turn the show takes. in one of the issues of the comic (suicide blonde i think), harry is investigating the "suicide" of a woman. by the end of the issue, he catches up with her ex-lover and ex-roommate. they were both ladies. and the girl who died had a drinking problem btw. and was constantly seeing boys. i'm all for gay couples on screen as a gay guy myself but it'll feel so cheap to pair darcy and asta together despite the way theyve been played on screen. maybe its doable. i don't know. but i genuinely could care less considering the overall tone of the show's drifted more towards a sitcom than anything else. i think the small handful of 40+ year old gay wine moms would probably love it, but the vast majority of viewers wont. either they'll hate it and say it's forced diversity (there's already people saying that about the gay couple on screen this past episode) or it'll be another nothing moment to a further nothing story. if anything it'd feel one step removed from tokenization, considering they see harry as a manchild. ableism! show's trying to seem fucking wholesome but they can't be bothered to care about their nd viewers. like "haha look we have a main gay couple!!! what do you *mean* our show has rampant ableist tropes, we have a gay couple!"

i'm just so bummed. the show's cornered itself into a sitcom so meaningful moments aren't a thing anymore. plus the comparison of harry to a child is really getting at me. like he's a grown man as a human, and hes a grown alien thing as an alien. it's such a big slap in the face to any person who cherished the witty and unique story telling of the first season... like.... i don't know.... people who would've been fans of the comic too? i have small gripes about the comic, but at least it takes itself more seriously. but the show runners haaate the people who read the comics. why? i dont know. well maybe i do know. probably seen as too nerdy and weird for their idea of the show's viewerbase. despite the fucking basis of the show being weird and nerdy.

they couldve done the darcy asta thing better if they do go down that road. i'm just saying i wouldn't be surprised. they already scared off everyone who would've cared for something like that, so i don't know how they'll manage to find an audience that cares. everything in s1 was so organic and felt real!!!!! now its just!!! nothing!!!!!!!!!!

(mostly kaito, len kagamine, gumi, luka, miku and gakupo), l the mcu although mostly spider-man,deadpool n daredevil, mcyt (ex; life games, hermitcraft, empires smp, etc.), studio investigrave (ex; dead plate and cold front), omori, ensemble stars, random story games i find (like literal storys that are interactive, i usually find them on itch.io and dashingdon, like infamous by amy ^^), bungo stray dogs (the mangs, the anime & the mobile game !!!), project sekai [my favz r tsukasa, mafuyu, shizuku n basically all of wxs, !!], VIVINOS [ex; alien stage and pink bitch club], flcl, vkei (ex; malice mizer, gulu gulu, Yuugure GIRL SUICIDE, etc.), danganronpa, bandori, twisted wonderland, d4dj, the guy she was intrested in wasn't a guy at all, good omens, hi3, yttd, fe (fire emblem) [the entire franchise], persona, n so so many more, so many.

my favorite colors are yellow, red, black and pink. i read alot of fanfiction but im terrible of writing, my favorite book is the goldfinch n I'll probably post one of my old mini rants about it,[ i also might post my when twilight strikes lore dump... wtv I'll get 2 that later!!!11 ], while my favorite book series is percy jackson or the tim drake: robin series if comics count :3.

the first oc is mei lynn, her whole backstory is basically that she's SUUPER unlucky, like really REALLY bad luck, and on her way 2 school she did isekai'd, fell through the air, landed in a lake and broke her leg ^^

n the second oc is florian, his nickname is driam, hes a dragon shifter, meaning he has a full dragon form (which i haven't drawn yet), a half dragon-half human form, and a fully human form (i haven't drawn this yet either), n his backstory is that his parents who were also dragon shifters [and unapollogetically so] were killed by discriminatory humans who beleive shifters shouldn't be aloud rights called hunters, so he usually just parades around as a human, the only people who know hes a dragon shifter are his partners, (havent drawn them yet but he has 2 partners; his boyfriend abbie who's a cat shifter and his girlfriend mira, whos a mage that specializes in ice, water, and healing magic) and bestfriends, (elliott, a freelance programmer who beleives everyone deserves rights, shifter or not and protests these rights happily. piper, florian's roomate before he moved in with his partners, a human who lightly dabbles in plant magic but she wouldn't consider herself a mage, her apartment is above her flower shop which she named ' The Bluebell ', its her pride and joy and she hired mira to set up protection runes around the shop that activate when they close up for the night. and mikhail, whos a demon that refuses to make a deal with anyone for anything out of fear theyll hurt them because a deal with a demon always backfires on the person making the deal with them because a demon always wins in the deal they make, and demons are just angels who were abandoned by their patron god/goddess, mikhail's patron goddess was the goddess of the night and stars, he was abandonded by her out of hope that the mistreatment he got for being an angel would lessen and in a way it did because in the end he found a family.)

my tf2 hot take(? i guess) is that the spydad stuff is more interesting when spy is the one whos more upset about the whole thing than scout. because i genuinely think he is. scout never had a father in his life and he probably came to terms with that when he was a teenager then never thought much about it again. i think he knows its very, very likely spy is his father but he doesnt want to acknowledge it because it changes things and makes things too weird. why make it an issue when theyre both content to never mention it. plus he hasnt thought about needing a father for over ten years probably (hes 27 during the comics iirc), he doesn’t want or need this now and to insist upon it is too little too late

meanwhile spy? spy’s been eaten by his Leaving for almost thirty years. he stayed long enough for scout to be walking, and while scout doesn’t remember him (mostly. insert Scout Baby Dream from the comics here) spy absolutely remembers scout (and his mother. i’m a big sucker for spyma i think those two have the most tortured gay-acting-straight-people love story ever) and i think that keeps him up at night. i think he thinks about his failed attempt at starting a family as a failure of him as a human being, because i think spy feels the need to do the whole “find a love get married have children raise them then die with your bloodline continued” song and dance whether he admits to it or not, and sees his deviance from such as a massive failure and that hes incapable of forming any meaningful bond with people. (too much heteronormativity in her. tragic.)

basically, i think if either of them were more upfront, spy would cough and sniffle and explain everything and want to kill himself in the process for being so vulnerable and scout would say ‘it doesnt matter why you left, even if it was to protect us or whatever, because in the end you still left and you cant go back to fix that’ yknow. neither of them are happy about it. but theyll figure it out in a few years. it’s three in the fucking morning i hope this makes sense

I'm trying to view it from a gentle parenting perspective where the labels of Parent and Child are stripped and we're both just people. But dang, I don't really like them as people either. I say often that if we weren't related and peers instead of having a ~40 year age gap we wouldn't even be acquaintances.

Man i feel that. Ive had to redefine my own identity and moral set as an adult; I hadnt realized for a long time that I was being a dick to my loved ones due to believing my worldview was paramount. My social life has now gotten much easier and more enjoyable to navigate and I’d love to bring my parents into a new age of self reflection and accountability, especially with seeing the way my mother stresses out about her social life on the daily. Tryna get Applejack to see this shit.

My mother’s beliefs and decisions are largely the very same ones that I’ve been trying to delete from my current life, as i believe theyve been holding me back from making genuine connections and rebuilding my confidence. I would love to be friends with my parents, but they still see me as someone they need to have control over. When we disagree, instead of letting that be, theyll try to force me to change my mind by any means necessary, using the Parent card as their justification. It’s downright annoying.

The worst part is that its not like I dont know how to be friendly with older people with different world views. I enjoy talking to customers at the store i work at that could be 10-20-30 years older than my parents. But I’m still my parents Ongoing Project, so I rarely get to have my own identity to stand on. Oh and god forbid I try to establish those boundaries, good god, the hysterics.

anyway the thing i can't stop thinking about is that. they essentially replaced the comics code with the more nebulous, more ominous "corporate interests."

bc like. bc dc comics is a division of dc entertainment which then is owned by warner. your pitch gets approved by dc all the way up to the finalized script where it then goes out of house to Warner lawyers--like ive read both priest and willingham as well when he released fables to public domain, they both said they have no fucking clue who these people are. just somewhere above their heads. and they send it back to be like "you can't have so and so do that because of the movie we're putting out," but they also don't let the comics writers see the movie scripts? and it was also heavily implied that they objected to anything with too much uh. substance. the phrase priest used was "protecting corporate interests."

so like on a practical level not only do the writers not know how many issues theyre getting, they fully like. are writing to meet the approval of a panel of lawyers' approval. out-of-house lawyers theyll never get to talk to, and they also dont know what the standards are, and if they don't meet those unknown standards they will probably find out AFTER the script is finalized and have to make rush edits to excise whatever their "sensitivity people" objected to (priests phrase. important to note that sensitivity readers are great when theyre reviewing your work for potentially harmful stereotypes or misinformation, shit like that. thats not what a panel of sensitivity people whose job is to "protect corporate interests" are gonna be doing.)

abd these are like. warner people, too, who arent going to know or care how comics work or what appeals to comics readers beyond like. understanding that comics with #1 on the cover automatically sell better. but also theyll be objecting to shit the writer had been setting up from the word go *right before publication...*

like no wonder there's less comic per comic, no wonder there's pacing issues and no follow through, no wonder nobody can establish any serious continuity btwn series rn, no wonder they keep setting up stakes and completely fail to deliver anything remotely resembling consequences... jfc guys. hope youre talking about unionizing or *something*

dairy comic nov 26th 2023. ive made art before about this specific feeling because it haunts me but my heads been hurting for about 24 hours straight and things have felt weird bad. it helped to draw this

ive felt like the absence of a person rather than someone real. i feel as though there is an invisible wall between me and everyone else- i cant break through. i am a stray scratching at your door who your mother says to not let in. but i keep scratching- please let me in, its so cold out here, i cant claw my way through the wall on my own. im scared no one wants the wall to be gone- that no one wants me to come any closer. will everyone want me around if i changed everything about me? do i have to be quieter, or louder, or smaller? should i just pretend i dont care about it all? will you like me if im a stone statue almost of myself? what is "myself" anyway- if not something people look at and know something is wrong. i guess its easy to turn to self isolation with a wall- you can only bang your head against it so many times. i wish it were different, wish i could know how to be a person and not something you cant let in.

also some extra thoughts... the wall feeling doesnt mean that i dont care about people or dont love people, its really the opposite... i love people a lot and desperately want to connect with people but i struggle to be able to feel like im a person and struggle with talking etc etc so even if i really love people i still get the feeling that im somehow distanced from both myself and life and like that at some point theyll get tired of me or that they dont want me around. its hard to explain
