In my dream a lady brought in a mutated cat with one eye. It was really docile but didn't mind being around us. One day it decided to snuggle next to me for the first time. It turns out, the reason was because it was sick. It puked and went limp. I rushed to the lady who brought it in but I could only studder, I can't speak when crying. It’s been so weird for the past year or so that Alex has mostly been the only one doing press, podcasts or radio shows. It’s really strange. I think the only interview with all of them was the one with robbie fox and otherwise it’s only Alex and sometimes Jack. I don’t quite understand it. Alex has said multiple times that in the past he felt like he was shouldering the most responsibility when it came to their music but now he’s fine with doing all these things by himself? He even did some interviews on his own while on tour when he must have felt terrible because his dad was unwell. What are the others doing? Even for LYR they all did multiple interviews together and I feel like whenever anybody was not feeling well in the past, they stepped in for each other. Maybe I’m just reading too much into it but it’s such a change from how they used to do things.

Where has Alex been saying he felt like he was shouldering the weight of anything aside from that recent Guy Raz interview? I feel like he’s always talked about being the main songwriter but there was never any hint of negativity to it till that.

To me they just haven’t done as much press in general so while it’s always Alex heavy, in a year/cycle of less exposure overall it’s feeling extra. The type of interview has also really pivoted to more straightforward sit downs than anything quick or silly where Rian and Zack are wanted to chime in, if that makes sense. Plus, I gotta believe there are still a lot of ~publications staying away from them. Idk there seems to be this idea that Alex is a martyr carrying his band but I trust them to be able to figure that out for themselves.

I definitely get the impression you have a lot of good ideas to expand the UX/DR story! So I assume you spend time imagining about the characters and coming up with scenarios—even if you don’t always have a chance to write/post the fics. 💖 (P.S. I had fun looking at your list of works-in-progress!)
