Eartha Kitt (Anna Lucasta, St. Louis Blues)—My friend and I have a saying: NOBODY is Eartha Kitt. A thousand have tried, and they've all come up empty and will continue to do so. Everyone knows her for something: from "Santa Baby" to Yzma in Emperor's New Groove to Catwoman to making Lady Bird Johnson cry for the Vietnam War. She was a master of comedy and sex, an extremely vocal activist, and she aged like fine wine... I'm sure someone has already submitted Hedy Lamarr because she was spectacularly beautiful, and a very strong lady too: she fled both an abusive marriage AND nazi persecution at a very young age and rebuilt a life for herself pursuing her love for acting all on her own!! Her career as an actress was stellar; while she began acting outside of Hollywood (her very first movie, Ecstasy, won a prize at the Venice Film Festival), she conquered American hearts very quickly with her first movie in the US, Algiers, and then just kept getting better and better. If all this isn't enough, she was also an inventor: her invention of the frequency-hopping spread spectrum radio transmission technique forms the base of bluetooth and has a lot of applications in all kinds of communication technologies. Now, I just want to start by saying I love BabBee and Dadimus. I do, 10/10 would enjoy again, but I think Y'all are neglecting the comedic and story potential of Bumblebee and Optimus meeting as ✨Adults✨ and still becoming a family.

Imagine with me, if you will, Cybertron ravaged by war. Things have fallen to shit. Megatron has been dragging these divorce proceedings out for years. Bumblebee was born around the beginning, give or take a few years, I don't care about specifics. His parents were sadly killed early on in his life due to something war related and Bumblebee has grown up alone. He manages to survive to adulthood, and he joins the Autobots. Bumblebee has been drowning in the consequences of this war since day 1 and he wants to help fix it. If Megatron won't sign the divorce papers then Bumblebee will. Yada Yada Yada Sad Backstory This is so sad, Alexa play The Less I Know The Sexy Back.

Anyhoo, Bumblebee is very good at his job as a scout. Top of the line shit, best of the best, 5 stars would eat here again. He's so good he gets promoted to work directly under Optimus Prime himself. Look at our boy go, we're so proud of him, you get that bag sister. Overtime, Bumblebee manages to become friends with Optimus (and the rest of Team Prime but we're focusing on Optimus rn) and they get pretty close. They're work besties, Bumblebee will make a joke over comms and Optimus will smile and say "I N D E E D, B U M B L E B E E.". Fucking insufferable, the both of them, it's so cute. You know how you can become friends with people twice/half your age when you're working at a hard job? That's what happened here, they've been through the (actual) trenches together, they've bonded.

So at some point, Bumblebee gets seriously injured while under Optimus's command, like some life threatening shit. Whether or not it's voicebox related is universe dependent , so we're not going to specify what happens, but it's serious. Bumblebee survives, obviously, but Optimus feels SO bad about it. Oh the Guilt is strong. When he's visiting Bee, some of this leaks out and Bumblebee tells him that he should not blame himself, Bee is choosing to fight, if he dies while fighting for the good of Cybertron, so be it. Better him than some innocent spark in the future. Plus, Bee only got hurt because of a stupid mistake he made, not anything Optimus did.

Bumblebee says this to try and reassure his friend/superior, but now Optimus feels WORSE. Bumblebee is like half Optimus's age (Bee and Optimus are whatever the Cybertronian equivalent of 20 and 40 are, respectively) and had nothing to do with the start of the war, and he's just as ready to die as Optimus is? And he's blaming himself for his injury? That he only got because Optimus told him to do something? Optimus is NOT going to let that slide, no he's not! Over his dead body! He is not crying in the club rn, what are you talking about.

Optimus has decided Bumblebee can not die now. He has declared, as the 13th Prime, that Bumblebee dying has become illegal and he will do everything in his power to enforce this new Law of The Universe That Should Never Be Broken Ever. Now, whenever the two are on a mission, Optimus tries to protect Bumblebee as best he can. He doesn't want to coddle him, Bumblebee is an adult and Optimus respects that but he'll be damned if he lets Bumblebee get seriously hurt when he could have prevented it. He also starts checking up on him when they're not fighting, asking how his day is going, how a mission went, making sure he see's a medic if he's hurt, making sure he's eating his energon, all that good stuff. Bumblebee is his friend, he's going to make sure he's okay, this is perfectly normal friend behavior. The rest of team prime is doing a similar thing, they all want to make sure Bumblebee is doing okay. Optimus isn't being parental in the slightest, he is being very normal. (Author's note: Optimus and Team Prime are being very Not normal about their emotions. All of them have some level of abandonment issues/lost-a-loved-one-itis and can no longer be normal about people they care about.)

Bumblebee recognizes what Optimus (and the rest of Team Prime) is doing. He knows that Optimus cares for him; he cares for him right back. Bee's not stupid, he knows that he's been getting some special treatment in the form of vaguely parental affection. And you know what? He likes it, a lot. He didn't get any growing up and now he's getting it from a guy he really looks up to, why would he pass this up. Bumblebee tries to return this affection he's being given in any way he can. He makes sure Optimus isn't overworking himself by visiting him while he's working, he makes sure Optimus is eating by inviting him to eat with him, he drags Optimus into the med-bay with him so he see's a medic every once in a while, he tries to make Optimus smile with his dumb jokes and antics, the whole kit and caboodle. Bee sees Optimus as some kind of parental figure, and he's going to make sure his newly acquired pop-pop is okay, just like he's doing for Bee. The Pop-Pop thing was a joke (Kind of). Why is he looking for cybertronian legal papers? That is none of your business, Bee just wants to see them for fun. No he's not drunk, the container of high grade started empty.

Life continues, Optimus (and Team Prime) continues to take care of Bee in his unknowingly parental way and Bumblebee is vibing with his newly acquired dad. It takes a while for anyone to acknowledge the new dynamic, Bumblebee just doesn't explicitly bring it up and Optimus hasn't pulled his head out of his suppressed emotion ass long enough to realize it. And keep in mind that Bumblebee is still an Adult and they are still technically coworkers, they still have a job to do, a war to win. Eventually though, maybe after the Autobots have left Cybertron, Optimus finally processes his emotions and realizes he see's Bee as family.

Optimus: Bumblebee, I care for you deeply, and I've come to see you as family.

Bumblebee: Aw, thank you! I consider you family as well. *Hands OP a data pad* In fact, you adopted me months ago.

Optimus (who did not sign any adoption papers at any time): I did what?

Bumblebee: I forged your signature.

At some point in the future, some guy is being a dick to Optimus, i don't really know what could happen, but Bumblebee steps in to defend Optimus with "That's my dad, you bitch!" and fucking slams the guy and Optimus is just standing there buffering, bc he's still getting used to showing and taking obvious affection and he approches Bee later to ask if he really considers Optimus as his dad. And Bee just kind of stares at him then points at the bumper sticker on OP's chest and says "yes, you idiot, I gave you that sticker for a reason" bc the sticker says "Worlds Best Dad" and it matches the "Worlds Best Son" sticker Bee got for himself and I'm rambling, I'll shut up now.

last twilight ep 10 thoughts, feelings, etc

back at it again at the krispy kreme friends. i cried this episode for so, so many different reasons. i'll also show you guys my raw reactions at the end of this, the insanity you guys don't see because i want you to respect me a little.

i didn't make one of these last week because i felt like that episode didn't need any words. some things you just need to feel and to talk about them cheapens what it truly is. that's not to say i didn't absolutely love everyone's posts and meta, i just thought anything i had to say could be felt in the episode itself and i didn't need to fumble my way through it.

Day is so at peace with what is going on and it's so beautiful to see, but the fact that he has to comfort his mother, that she's held onto this delusion that magically everything is going to be okay, is pretty irksome. she's had bare minimum a year, i think nearly two at this point, to accept the truth and she just hasn't and now it's biting her in the ass. but once again, this is something so realistic. i literally JUST dealt with this myself with my mother-in-law in October. once again P'Aof captures the truth of people and our natures.

and it's no wonder things have been so strained between Day and Night. she constantly forces Night to be Day's jailer, to escort him to his cell because the warden said so. it's a horrible position for her to put Night in and it's no wonder he feels so alone and abandoned by his family. it's no wonder Day resents him. Night is trying so hard to make them both love him again and he's been trapped in the middle of a war of attrition and paying penance for something that is in no way shape or form his fault. and then to later learn she HAS blamed Night? it's a horrible situation for him to be in, something he never deserved.

this was so sexy of Mhok, as most things are. you should have been there. it should have been you doing that for your SON. you should have taken the time to be there for him, to see that sight with him, to give him what he wants. but you weren't. you never are.

Day's mom stresses about Day's safety but safety is about so much more than a physical state of being. Mhok has done so much to ensure Day's mental safety and well being, he's done so much to improve Day's every day life. but that doesn't matter to her because she always refused to acknowledge things had gotten that bad. in another life Day never met Mhok and i wonder if things took a dark turn. i don't think Day was on a good trajectory.

here we reach bunn cries phase 1. i was so worried here that Mhok meant their entire relationship but i'm glad to see he just meant this chapter. they've started a new book together; no longer one about a caretaker and his charge but a man and his lover. what a gorgeous way to convey that journey. P'Aof i love you, do you know?

Night, i know i wasn't sure about you for a long time but you've really become one of my favorite people this episode. even Night can see his mom taking away Day's agency, can see her taking away everything Day has become this last year. he doesn't want his brother to disappear again, he just got him back.

god Day's bravery here. he's become so confident, so self assured, because Mhok taught him that he could be, that his blindness didn't make him weak. i know i say it every week lately but i'm so PROUD.

FINALLY SOMEONE SAYS IT. the way she took his phone away INFURIATED ME. you're taking away an important tool of freedom and agency from your FULL GROWN ADULT SON. where the fuck do you get off? and talking about doing things her way under her roof. if it was me i would be out of that house so fucking fast, staying with literally anyone else. the tragic thing is Day doesn't have that option. his disability has left him a victim of his mom's bullshit, given her a huge way to control him. it's disgusting, i'm sorry. i've tried to give her the benefit of the doubt for so long but she went way, way too far this episode.

even Night is sick of her shit and knows this is fucked up. Night once again i'm so sorry i doubted you. he knows how good Mhok is for Day and how good they are for each other. Mhok has only ever been kind to Night and i think that has gone a long way in Night's defense of him as well - not that i think he wouldn't have done it without that but i certainly think it has helped.

and what a fucking breakthrough this was. Day once again telling someone 'i see you.' Day is so good at seeing people once he lets go of his preconceived notions an biases. i can't imagine what a relief this was to Night to know it wasn't just his perception of the situation but something other people see and acknowledge. and he brushes it off, says it's because Day's a crying baby, but they both know that's not all of it.

bunn cries phase 2 is here. i BURST into ugly tears at this moment. it wouldn't be bunn meta if i didn't share a personal anecdote so here we go.

ANECDOTE START ->

i mentioned in my last post, prior to episode 9, that my dad was shit. i'm talking had me, an infant, in the middle of a meth den, in the middle of a raid level of bad. one of my earliest memories is a police officer kneeling down and talking to me while i colored in a coloring book and they searched the apartment. (my mom had no idea until a few years ago when a family friend shared this story. he protected me, thank fucking god.) my real dad went on to get clean (as far as i know) but was emotionally abusive among a whole slew of other issues.

when i was two years old my stepdad came into my life. he would've been just 27 at the time. he fell in love with my mom but wasn't sure if he wanted the responsibility of a kid. my mom said okay and broke up with him. they spent months miserable without each other (they've both told me their sides of this story) until my dad said okay, i can do this, and came back. and you know what? he was amazing. he didn't always get it right but he tried. he stayed up and read me The Hobbit and did silly voices for the dwarves and sang the songs and tucked me into bed and he loved me. (we have matching tattoos from that exact copy of The Hobbit, which i still have tucked away safe.)

we butt heads SO MUCH my teenage years. he had a temper and i was depressed and angry and dealing with so much teenage bullshit. but he still took me to breakfast every sunday, just the two of us, and we'd go see movies together. sundays were our day. he always called me his kid and people joked that somehow magically my mom had his kid before even meeting him. we even look alike. we have all the same tastes.

now as an adult we get along really well. (we still butt heads but it's bc we're exactly alike.) he and my mom have been together almost 30 years. he recently came into my office, a little tipsy, and hugged me and spent almost an entire hour telling me how much he loves me, how proud he is of me, how grateful he is that he had me as his kid, how having me is better than any blood child they could've had. (they tried for years but my parents were never able to have any kids.)

some of the best family in the world is those that choose to be your family. i was never his responsibility, not really, but he put everything into being my dad. from just this little statement from Night i see so much of my dad in this moment and i couldn't fucking take it.

Night, i love you. i love you so much. he says it so effortlessly, so confidently. what a man.

so i acknowledge here that their mother is finally starting to get it. she's starting to get things right. she even makes Night's favorite food and makes sure he knows he's loved. she takes the time to try and understand Day, to blindfold herself like Mhok did, etc. and i acknowledge it takes people their own time to come to terms with things, to accept things, and maybe her journey of acceptance was a little longer than others.

however.

this scene shows that she always had the option to cancel. she could have always done this for Day. she could have been there. she could have taken him to the mountain and seen the sunset with him. i have to wonder if Mhok's comment really got to her, i have to believe it did. i think she finally realized that she can no longer be the one that's blind. she has to see reality. it's a big step for her and i'm happy but i'm still so annoyed it took this long for it to happen. but hey - parents fuck up. they do. they fuck us up, even if they don't mean to. once again it's something very, very real from P'Aof, even if i don't like it.

my first knee jerk reaction to this moment was wow, she's infantilizing Day again, but then i sat and really thought about it. in the context of this moment, i think this is okay. sometimes it's just nice to be cared for and Day seems completely receptive to it. fuck, i'm 31 and sometimes i just go curl up with my mom and let her pet my hair, sometimes she makes me my favorite food because she knows i had a bad day, sometimes she babies me a little because she knows i'm having a bad day with my disability.

not everything is infantilization. sometimes it's love and care, the only way they know how. sometimes all you want is a parent's familiar love from years ago. so in the context of everything, i think this was a really nice moment to see, Day taking comfort in his mom's love again.

and despite everything Day still managed to see Mhok, to show him he cares, he thought of him, and wouldn't leave him alone. and then he gives him an oven mitt he made himself, he painted himself, because Mhok took him to learn to paint without his sight. they're so fucking beautiful, so kind and gentle and loving to each other. they're so fucking considerate. Day says you're my sun, i believe in you, i'm proud of you, i support you all in one seemingly simple gift.

i'm reserving my thoughts from the preview for next week but i highly doubt things are going to turn out the way they seem to be teasing. i'll wait to see what happens.

Generally I like fics that are bittersweet, sexy, a little angsty, and in-character. And I usually shy away from AUs. There's a lot of pure smut in here too. If any of that is your taste too, you should have a good time.

we're fools to make war Author: whimsicule Rating: E Summary: In a Walmart at three am, between beef jerky and tortilla chips, with the lights flickering above them like it’s the fucking twilight zone, Bradley wants him more than he’s ever wanted anyone. or: it's a hundred degrees in texas. Daisy's Note: I have read a lot of Hangster fics but this one is my favorite. I love Bradley and Jake's post-mission characterizations. The sex is so hot. The OCs add to the story instead of being annoying or distracting. It's a perfect fic. One of my all time favorites of any fandom.

an afterimage of you on the back of my eyelids Author: iceboxotterpops Rating: E Summary: Rooster’s nightmares leave him deprived and seeking comfort, which he finds in the most unsuspecting place—Hangman. However, the further their Friends With Benefits situation develops, the more Rooster begins to fear his feelings for Hangman while the nightmares grow stronger and worse. Daisy's Note: Again, beautiful characterization and hot sex. I love anything where Rooster is healing. Technically not done but I think it ends in a good place.

tell the truth, I look better under you Author: lesbiseresin Rating: G Summary: Before Bradley knows it, there’s a hand landing on his shoulder and squeezing as Hangman slips past him towards the door.

“Hope you don’t snore. Otherwise I might have to shove your face into a pillow,” he tells him, completely cheerful. It makes Bradley want to reach for his collar again, face no longer numb but burning hot in a way he hopes doesn’t show through in color.

Instead, he tightens his jaw and does what he’s been doing for the past few days every time Hangman tries to push one of his buttons. He ignores him.

At a certain point they stop feeling like chances and more like foregone conclusions. Daisy's Note: Superbly executed time loop fic with spot-on characterizations and their past friends-with-benefits situation as the backdrop.

Men Like Us Author: DancingDisaster Rating: M Summary: Seresin men love with reckless abandon. It’s put every man before him in the ground.

Jake refuses to be buried.

He flies like he has nothing left to lose (he doesn’t), a one man army (he is), leaving everyone else in the dust (so they don’t leave him). Admiral Kazansky claps him on the shoulder, says he expects great things from him, and Jake’s smile is feral as the rest of his flight school cohort looks on in disbelief.

Hangman, they all say, like Jake’s entire personality was a long con, and he ranks first in class.

Rooster doesn’t look at all.

Daisy's Note: Another fantastic time loop fic with very clever, funny writing.

Bi_e_ual Author: tempestbreak Rating: E Summary: Teeth clenched, Rooster leans his forearm across Hangman’s chest, looming, eyes searching eyes. “What’s your game?”

If Hangman is intimidated, he gives no indication. In fact, he seems to grasp what Rooster is asking immediately; that stupid smirk curls the sides of his lips as he raises his chin in challenge. “This isn’t a game, Rooster. It’s just life.” The smirk widens. “Well, life and death.”

Daisy's Note: Poor Bradley is so confused. Emotionally constipated Bradley trying to sort through his feelings always gets me. Especially when contrasted with a cocky Jake.

love is a burning thing Author: Notchka88 Rating: E Summary: Bradley finds himself standing in front of Jake, much closer than just friends would. It’s not even the beer lowering his inhibitions. He often finds himself drawn in by Jake, unable to resist the pull between them. It would be terrifying except that since the mission and since they became a them, they’ve matched each other’s speed.

Jake’s eyes briefly dart to his mouth and his hand discreetly squeezes Bradley’s wrist before he turns around and saunters out of the bar.

Bradley takes a moment to admire the view and follows after him.

Except, here he is with the Bronco pulled into one of the spaces that line the stretch of sidewalk beside Hangman’s house. He can see Hangman’s truck sitting in the driveway and the light for the living room turned on inside.

Hangman is here, and so is Bradley. For what exactly, he isn’t sure. He knows he’s searching for something. An answer, maybe. Beefing with middleschoolers and summoning a demon who is also Fig's dad.

Fighting ANOTHER faculty member, killing the coach after making him shit himself. Another student also dies. They revive him, intimidate/black mail him while making him think HE had shit himself and they just switched his and the coach's pants. They then change his entire life by talking to him, helping him reach emotional catharsis and help him realize he's gay.

Beating up Adaine's sister at a party and revoking her diplomatic immunity.

Riz threatening to shoot Biz's brains out, counting rapidly down from 5 and blowing a finger off.

Then doing it again and shooting another. Gives one more chance, before he's going to blow the kids brains full out. Then Fig burning their classmates crotch with fire and Gorgug looming with an axe ready to cut his head off, before Riz even starts counting against. Full on they are ready to murder this teenager they had been friends with up until 10 minutes prior, and are actively committing probable war crimes on him. Fabian is idly commenting on "man we became bullies real fast" in the background.

They go to jail. They get out via a friend they made when they stole a car and burn down a police precinct in the process. Fabian goes into his house, comes out with an eye patch, and immediately goes to prom on his motorcycle.

They kill two older students,fight a dragon and take a full 8-hr long rest in the middle using a time watch. Riz and his mom eat the former vice principal.

The school year isn't even over yet.

At this point in time the High Five Heroes were spending hours a day killing rats, and all the whole The Bad Kids were unhinged, insane maniacs almost dying practically every time they ran off.

I love the Rat Grinders. I think they're evil little assholes (who were manipulated and taken advantage of yes, but still little shits) who I want to get murdered before The Bad Kids pull a Ragh on all their asses, revive them and change their lives. And then I want the Rat Grinders to understand.

6.) Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela (2013)

This is a very colorful adaptation of Romeo & Juliet with a bollywood styled twist. (FUN FACT : The main actor & actress got married in real life). You'll understand how 🔥 their chemistry when you watch the movie.

Ram and Leela love each other but cannot stay together as their families, Rajadi and Sanera, have been at war with each other for the past 500 years. In the end, they both need to make a sacrifice.

7.)Bang Bang (2014)

I really liked this movie so frigging much it has the perfect dose of action, romance and comedy. And the OST is amazing!!!🥰

(Fun Fact : this movie is a remake of Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruises movie titled "Knight and Day").

Harleen leads a boring life with her grandmother and works as a bank receptionist. However, her life takes a sudden turn after she falls in love with Rajveer, a thief.

8.) Dilwale (2015)

Colorful, Violent ,Explosive ,& Comedy Gold , and Fast paced with some flashbacks. This movie was filmed from Bulgaria, Iceland and India You'll fall in love with the settings.

Raj and Meera fall in love, but are forced to stay away from each other as they belong to rival mafia families. Years later, they get a second chance when their siblings fall for each other.

9.) Student of the Year (2012)

Get ready for the the typical Love triangle, Gay worthy pining Enemies-to-Friends-to-Enemies-one again. The sexy shirtless scenes and all the drama that's you thought you left behind in high school but turns out....Collage is WORSE!!!

Note: My inner gay still thinks Abhi and Rohan should have ended up together, Shanaya would have been a perfect platonic friend.(Still think Abhi & her are cute tho.)

Perhaps a better angel would have demanded death, but Aziraphale, above all things, believes in God's Plan. If She intended for him to die on the celestial battlefields, surely he wouldn't have been given a choice to begin with.

Thousands of years have passed, and Heaven is not coming. He's accepted that. But, well.

God helps those who help themselves.

Wild-eyed, voice strained, "What kind of angel gambles against the bloody Devil?"

Demons love making deals, and Satan is no exception.

The proposal is simple: one game, determined by the Devil, winner takes all. If Aziraphale wins, he goes free. If Aziraphale loses, he'll join the legions of human souls being tortured in Hell, no longer protected as a prisoner of war.

Then, mid-game, Aziraphale offers to adjust the stakes. If he loses, he'll return to Heaven as a spy for Hell. If he wins? He wants his demonic handler turned over to him, a prisoner of his own. After all, he owes Crowley thousands of years of revenge.

Satan, sensing weakness as Aziraphale scrabbles for something other than eternal torture, smiles. And agrees. After all, it's not as if he's going to lose.

It's yet another simple proposition: they need to work together until they can free themselves for good. Then, they can finally go their separate ways.

After all, they've been stuck together for almost five-thousand years. Surely, they've got to be sick of each other.

i've seen people talk about the possibility that the doctor yoinked crowley's face for their 10th regeneration courtesy of the gallifrey easter egg and that being funny, and they're right, of course, esp with ten asking rose if he's ginger, almost like he modeled himself after someone who was and still didn't get it.

but i feel like we're sleeping on the hilarity that is early new!who taking place almost entirely in london, and aziraphale and crowley just Do Not Care About It. there's spaceships and alien invasions and everyone with a certain bloodtype is brainwashed and standing on the edge of the nearest tall building and the whole s3!master thing, but like. that's not a them problem. that's not armageddon, so of course it won't work, and the humans will take care of it, and it's fine, so long as it doesn't interfere with their work and they can take credit for it when asked.

then armageddon swings around and suddenly Mr. and Mr. Hands-Off Parenting have to care that the world could be ending and do something about it and fuck up because they've been literally ignoring all the trial runs that have been thrown at them for years. meanwhile the average human in london sees the world coming to an end again and is like "must be thursday."

Honestly I'm not sure... This fic was born while I was binging Graceland during the last hiatus and picked all the similarities between Rio and Johnny, but also their differences, and started thinking, "wait, what if I wrote a fic where they're just two different eras of the same character's life?". And I built the whole story from this, trying to find a way for everything to make sense, so I'm not sure I had a specific scene in mind? Except maybe the final scene? Like this whole journey from Johnny to Rio only makes sense because he's meant to meet Beth in the end? Idk. Well at least the 'spring' part was definitely building up to that 1.01 Good Girls scene, hahaha!

This story was initially intended as a one-shot, and I came up later with some follow up ideas so I definitely can't say I had a whole idea of the plot when I started it. I guess the first chapter is just built around the kissing scene, since it was basically the whole point of this fic?

And then every following chapter more or less kept that structure "Rio pops up with a job/Beth spends way too much time overthinking her outfit/they go on a mission/fake-dating ensues/they reach a new step/she comes home/goodnight everyone" so I guess it always revolved around the central Beth-Rio sexy scene.

Honestly I'm blessed with so many incredible readers I can't think of one best piece of encouragement!!

So this was my first fic. My first work of fiction in a foreign language. Uh, wait. My first work of fiction whatever the language (and no, that fairytale short story I wrote when I was 10 doesn't count!!!).

So the first thing I learned??? That I COULD. DO. IT!!! That I liked it. That all these plots and ideas that have been occupying my brain for years, all the bedtimes stories I've been telling myself my whole life, there were people somewhere interested in knowing about them. That when I write something I have this power to bring a few crumbs of happiness and feelings to total strangers I'll probably never meet, and that it's worth the effort, even if there's only one person who reads me. Hell even if nobody reads me, it makes me happy.

Audrey Hepburn (My Fair Lady, Sabrina, Roman Holiday)—I know people nowadays are probably sick of seeing her with all the beauty and fashion merch around that depicts her and/or Marilyn Monroe but she is considered a classic Hollywood beauty for a reason. Ironically in her day she was more of the alternative beauty when compared to many of her contemporaries. She always came off with such elegance and grace, and she was so charming. Apparently she was a delight to work with considering how many of her co-stars had wonderful things to say about her. Outside of her beauty and acting ability she was immensely kind. She helped raise funds for the Dutch resistance during WWII by putting on underground dance performances as well as volunteering at hospitals and other small things to help the resistance. During her Hollywood career and later years she worked with UNICEF a lot. Just an all around beautiful person both inside and out.
