I'm the anon that sent you the message about hating the term PoC. Yeah, I pretty much agreee with everything you say. I don't believe much in POC solidarity because our struggles are very different between each other, and trying to paint everything as us vs whites does not really work. Perhaps for americans it does, since they have a very diverse population, but it's more difficult when talking about other countries.

Like latin americans do not have the best relationships between each other, they might share language but have very different cultures. Like the other day I was reading about this cartoon named "Oye primos" that was going to premiere and it was made by a second gen latina, where she looked to represent her growing up in a latin community in the USA, but she was clowned by pretty much every latino leaving outside of America. First, because the name of the cartoon is gramatically wrong (it should be "OIGAN primos, not OYE primos), second, because she used the word "LATINX", which latinos hate, and third, because she named the town the characters live in "Terremoto (Earthquake) Heights" or something like that (people though it was offensive because Mexico and Chile have suffered through a lot of earthquakes). And there's other stuff, like people saying the animation is ugly (very calart) and so on. Some people even started praising Los Casagrande, a spin off of The Loud House with a main mexican family thats not even made by latinos, but its considered far superior.

Sorry, I got a little carried away with that, what I wanted to say it's that its pretty common for latinos to kinda tear each other up, but they unite if they want to clown a "gringo" or something (and yes, they pointed out that the author basically being a 2nd gen makes her a gringa... I guess). Plus a lot of latinos dont like anything that looks "woke", and they considered that show does, so it was doomed from the start. The creator of the show felt pretty overwhelmed by the negative reception, received a lot of backlash and it apparently affected her a lot. I feel pretty bad for her actually.

And yeah, argentinians are actually pretty white, not only because a lot of italians and germans migrated there (if you ever read the names of their national soccer team, you'll notice many names are of italian origin), but because they're at the very south. Chile is also pretty white. But yeah, argentinians have always been pinned as being pretty arrogant and full of themselves, so it doesnt surprise me that they feel they're superior because their team is white. I remember that argentinians and fans of Messi in general were clowning Mbappe for allegedly being in a relationship with a transwoman, so they invented some pretty homophobic chants... soccer fans be like that

What's funny with Latins is that they have this thinly veiled superiority complex with Black people.....but highkey are envious of the cultural impact of Black culture worldwide. Latin culture has a load of influence on music, but its impact is not as multifaceted as Black culture (beside music, fashion, hairstyles, make up, slang, etc.). Non french netizens will do the most about how islamophobic France is, but Islam isn't a race so the problem our country has with Islam isn't much related to race. Because of colonization, France has many territories oversea where its natives are Black, so France is inherently already multiracial, and that's something that many French people acknowledge. So first of all, my aunt texted me that i should stop being jealous and passive agressive about the fact that my grandma gave my cousin her car. But my brother in christ WHY would i be jealous? I can't even fucking drive.

But not only did my grandma give my cousin her car! She completely cut me out of her will (just for funsies!!!) and she's going to leave everything (her house and every other possession she has) to my cousins.

And i have NEVER said anything about this. My parents (especially my dad lol) raised me to be respectful yknow especially towards the elderly, so i have never EVER expressed how fucking bad that felt. Instead i have sacrificed my free time everytime my grandma needed me to translate stuff when her german friends came to visit. And i did!

I'm gonna be 23 in 3 months but she has never invited me over for dinner, she sends me (usually spoiled and straight up moldy) food like once a year. Because you know, I'm already fat, i don't need to eat more food right?

And look, my part of the family isn't rich. We're not poor either, but that money could have paid off some debts, including my student loan. But no, let's leave everything to my cousins who are literally millionaires.

This whole thing broke out because i told my grandma that i really like a painting she has (i have always loved it and it's genuinely beautiful, i don't want to sell it at all, it has sentimental value for me and i would hate if my cousins just straight up sold it because that's EXACTLY what they're planning to do) and i asked her to leave that one painting to me. Instead of my cousins. But apparently i overstepped some invisible boundaries with this lol

And this is literally just the tip of the iceberg but im not going to bore everyone to death with my shitty family. So yeah it just sucks because I've never been jealous or MEAN even though i had every right to do so, and this is what i get for all the help during these years lol. So, my sister and I had kind of an amazing trip to Goodwill!!

(Kind of long, so I'm gonna put it under a readmore. Also nothing at all explicit, but slightly adult for doujinshi and body pillow covers)

I'm going to go out of order but in the order I took pictures, so first up are these two Dungeon Tiles Master Set boxes! They're really cool, especially since we've been playing dungeons and dragons more lately. Also there were some people's printouts of dnd books, which is adorable. The only thing is that the sets were kinda mixed up, and they were the most expensive single items we got ($6.49, I think?), so we left one behind at the store and who knows what was in that one??

But I definitely want to try to use these sometime, and the boxes themselves are really cute, so ✅

The thing that drew us in and convinced us pretty quickly this was going to be a wild trip, though, was a stack of Japanese novels and doujinshi! This was the same goodwill that I once found a gay space furry retelling of Beauty and the Beast (which turned out to be v good, btw), so there's precedent for some choice smut, but I've never found doujinshi before!

Mostly it's things I'm not super familiar with, and it all appears to be in Japanese, so we can't completely read it (although my sister's kinda learning it in her free time), but it's still awesome.

The non-comic books were these three Gankutsuou novels. Of course I've never seen it, but I did read Count of Monte Cristo in high school! (I remember reading it during my welding class lmao. And I had the teacher who tested us when we got to school over minutia that wasn't in the abridged versions, so yes I read the whole book.)

Can't read it, still cool.

The doujinshi/fanbooks I'm having a harder time finding info about, despite the fact that most of them list an author/illustrator and date. Again, they're in Japanese, but these have (more) pictures 😎. And they're quite nice pictures too lmao.

Three of the books are fanbooks from Magi (I'm not sure if that's Magi the Labyrinth of Magic, but I've been reading that, so I guess I'll see within ~300 chapters), two are from Tiger and Bunny (which I wanted to watch but just haven't gotten around to it), and one from Heat Guy J (which I've never heard of, but it looks kind of great, but it's not available for streaming right now).

Again, I haven't seen any of the anime these are from, and they're in Japanese, so I've been using an online translator to translate (and the pictures help ngl), but I fucking love them. Some aren't 100% my style (I was literally talking the day before about how many fetish-y amputee mods there are for Fallout, and one book is about a character with amputated limbs in a way I'm not sure isn't fetish-y, but it's not, like, offensive I don't think), but I'm a big fan of smut idk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (Also! I forgot to add that the art is very good. I'm going to keep looking up the artists to see if they've done anything else I might also like :p )

(I do have to say: these books are mostly censored [that is, no explicit shots of genitals without censor bars], but they are very adult, and they were just sitting out there for anyone to stumble on. Like when I found a Torchwood book in the kids section of Bookmans. Idk.)

Anyway! The next stuff is not smutty (sadly): Daisuki Magazine!

I hadn't heard of this magazine, but it's a mid-2000s German-language manga mag, so almost exactly a one-to-one match for my interests lol. My German is rusty, and some of the words are specific, so it's slow going reading it, but look! Fruits Basket! Which we called Frubba when we were kids because we had a million inside jokes!

(I also went back later and got Juni 2007. Also heatstroke because it is hot as all hell here.)

And lastly was another impulse purchase but also amazing: a Nightwing body pillow cover by soltian!!

I don't follow comics, but I read almost every DC (especially Batman) comic in our city's library system when I was in high school, so yeah. Also I really do like the art; it's very cute.

(Side note, all of soltion's art is cute. They have charms, and the digidestined are absolutely perfect and I love them. They also have the pillowcases in stock right now so, you know, support the artists! I'm really eyeing those keychains honestly!)

We stopped at Walmart because my mom had a gift card, and they had a nine-piece sheets and stuff set for $9, and I've been looking for a new blanket and pillowcases, so score! It was full size, and my bed's a twin, so it's very large, but who cares? I get almost all my bedclothes at goodwill, so I'm pleased :p

Anyway back to the goodwill trip. It was expensive, ha. Everything we got cost between $2 and $7, which is amazing but adds up, and I am so, so grateful that goodwill has a 20% off $20+ coupon and also that my sister who has a job bought this lot UwU

So it cost about $37 for a stack of doujinshi, manga mags, light novels, dnd tile sets, and a body pillow cover. So, um. Yeah. My sister and I were freaking out lmao. I don't know if we'll find such a good haul again, but I'm super happy with all this. Now I just need to make room on my packed shelves.

I have a question. My skin is white and I am a mix of French, German, Italian, Spanish... the usual white trans boy. I'm also Cherokee according to my father's side, his grandfather was a tribe leader or something like that, but apparently a lot of white people on the east coast say they're cherokee??? 1. i hate the brewers tbh

2. i think that the dbacks could still beat the rockies esp at home (and tbh i think the brewers might give us more trouble)

3. if the dbacks lose to their opponent, out of possible opponents i believe that the rockies are more likely to beat the dodgers than the brewers 

4. a lot of it does come down to presumable pitching match ups versus possible lineups. this is made more complicated by the fact that in order for MIL to play in the WC game they would need to win a game v COL on monday. I do not know their pitching staff well enough to know who would start this game. so, in light of that, i believe that chase anderson would pitch for MIL for the WC game (both bc of his success and the way the schedule lines up) and while CA is 1-1 this season against the dbacks his ERA is 0.69 and only lost that game because we scored 1 run against him, and i believe we won that game 1-0. Gray is the presumed WC starter for COL, baring a need for a game on monday night, and while he is 2-0 against the dbacks this season our offense is way more active against him.

tbh for me the most preferable scenario would be that MIL forces a game monday night, that COL wins, forcing them to put up a second pitcher, who im not sure who it would be, based on schedule, chad bettis would be coming off regular rest, but the dbacks have had recent success against him. german marquez has struggled against the dbacks heavily and would be coming off short rest so he’s probably out anyway. tyler anderson would probably be the starter and he is 2-0 against the dbacks this year but he will have been inactive for more than a week, an awkward length. out of all the pitchers the dbacks could face i think TA makes me the most nervous tbh. but anyway since the odds of this happening are so miniscule, i would just rather see MIL lose and fall out of contention so yeah [shrugging emoji]
