Maybe, I sound a little nitpicky here, or some other word that I can't figure out right now to determine the current tone of my words but.

Looking through some of the fanfiction, in regards to Bi-Han, I think some baffled me in particular and it's not even that big of a deal or anything but it just scratches beneath my skin a little. Like, oh! Bi-Han cooking something for you! I can see that!-- what do you mean he's making you a complete English meal.

Unless it's something that the reader enjoys, and he's making it in favor to their taste preference, then that's sweet! But.... Where's my stuff..... Where's the chicken congee... Where is- where is all the traditional recipes he should know? I get that making eggs, bacon, and french toast are easy (sometimes) but-- there is other easy to make stuff. I'm not expecting Bi-Han to be headcanoned as some top tier chef but, him knowing some traditional home recipes should be natural thing to him, no? Maybe he learned from his mother, or some other. I think that'd be neat to think about, just simple basic home meals he's learned and makes for himself and rarely, but sometimes, for others. I think all in general, I just really want to see like some proper representation of Bi-Han, or just even Kuai Liang, maybe even Tomas adapting to some of his adoptive family's behaviors while he was raised, like some stuff like how some people can't properly apologize so in form of apology, people mainly serve a plate of fruit as an act of forgiveness rather than outright saying it, or just ANYTHING ELSE.

What if I actually actually actually take to heart the idea that when I lack concrete information—and can confidently assume that this lack will continue for some time—it's really and truly okay to just chill out and set my mind free to wander :) :) :)

“It's bad luck, y'know,” Rachel greets, low and soft and lighthearted, futzing with a particularly stubborn loose stitch on her costume. “To see me before I go on.”

“It is?” Max asks with a startled squeak, freezing in the doorway. “Ah jeez, sorry, I just– Uhm, Chloe was worried ‘cause you missed lunch and she said I'd have an easier time getting backstage to see you and–”

Rachel can't help but smile as she closes their distance. She'd be lying if she said she didn't enjoy how easy it is to get Max flustered and floundering.

“Hey, relax.” Her fingers brush against Max's own as she takes the bag from her hands. “I'm just messing with you, I don't buy into that stuff. Just don't let Mr. Keaton catch you on your way out because he'll have a conniption for sure.”

“R-Right,” Max nods, still sounding uncertain. “Like Chloe said, extra ninja-sneaky.”

“Right,” Rachel agrees with a huff of half hidden laughter, setting the bag aside in favor of jumping on the newly presented chance for mischief. “But if you’re the type to worry about luck,” she says, as if she isn’t already well aware that Max is the type to worry about literally everything. “There is something you can do to balance things out.”

“Really? What is it?” Max’s freckled face lights up with that blindingly bright, eager-to-please expression she so excels at, and it takes all of Rachel’s effort not to stop mid-scheme and ask if she knows just how damn adorable she is. “Better safe than sorry.”

Close enough to feel Max's next nervous exhale, Rachel glances down at the girl's lips parted ever so slightly in anticipation.

“You have to kiss me,” she says, hardly a whisper in what little space remains between them.

Max's eyes narrow in recognition.

“... There's no way that's real,” she murmurs. Though she still moves to lay one tentative hand on Rachel's waist, then another.

Rachel offers a smile that she can only hope is more suave and charming than the silly giddiness that brought it into being. “Better safe than sorry, right?”

Try as she might, however, there's no way to mask the delight in her expression when Max pulls away; still close enough that her next statement rests in a heavy whisper against Rachel's jawline.

“I, uh, I hope you break your legs tonight.”

For a minute, neither of them make a sound.

“Wait, shit, oh my god.” Max backs off in a rush while Rachel devolves into a fit of giggles. “That's not– I didn't– Please don't break both your legs. Don't break any, preferably. I just meant, like, in the theatre sense, not– Fuck.”

Rachel tries to stifle her laughter a little as Max buries her reddening face in her hands, if only to save what remains of her dignity.

“How do you always manage to get me to make such a fool of myself?” Max whines.

“Just one of my many talents,” Rachel answers, beaming with pride.
