For all the talk of being a goddess, we sure haven't seen Wen Xiao do much goddessing. I'm a little disappointed about that.

Wen Zongyu is still trying to raise his hybrid army, but surely there's ways to stop him without being so self-destructive about it? What am I missing? sometimes I feel like I should redraw my 2023 WoF! the owl house stuff (yeah Darius I'm talking about you)

I don't really have any ideas on the WoF! AU (the reason is I haven't thought about it much) buuut maybe someday I will actually draw something. maybe covenheads who I'm thinking about. maybe Hettie (hello @daughterthethird sorry I'm still not sure how to make the mask stuff but I'm contemplating the design)

- I think Raine would be a leafwing or a rainwing (actually I like leafwing one more. I dunno, with the AU stuff I already have and sure in, most of the Plant Coven members are leaf dudes, which is kinda... basic? I mean, leaf dudes' abilities (I forgot what they're called heeeelp) already make a 'perfect PC member'. like, for example, night dudes should be in the Oracle Coven, rain ones in the Illusions, hive dudes in the Potions and stuff. don't really like this tribe-coven idea, so I thought making Raine a leafwing would be somehow more diverse)

- Mason would be a mudwing. well, pretty much obvious

- Darius?? night/rain? I have already drawn him and so I'm sure that I see him as a night/rain

- Vitimir. hivewing. I guess he'd have that stinky tail stuff (Scarab reference) plus toxic saliva

- Adrian? a rainwing? a silkwing? a seawing? some hybrid? I dunno

- Terra, pretty much a leafwing

- Hettie, sea/ice or mud/sea/ice or mud/ice (hello again) or stuff

- Eberwolf? I don't even know what to say here lol. to me, witches and some of demonic species are WoF! dragons as they are canonically, some other demonic species don't belong to any of the WoF tribes, but they still have something dragon-like in their appearance (mostly) as well

- Osran. personally I think of him as a seawing (so Kikimora is also sea dude. non canonic scale colors go brrrrrrr)

- I feel like Lilith would be a skywing (Eda as well). probably using some scale paint stuff or a concealment stone if they have that stuff in WoF! AU (I'm pretty much sure they do)

- Hunter? a sandwing. like Caleb, like all other grimwalkers (though I feel like some of the grimwalkers would not be entirely sandwing cuz of Philip making mistakes in making them), like Belos

- aaaaand Scooter Crane would probably be a skywing, or a mudwing, or a sky/mud hybrid. 'Crane' really speaks for it lmao

Just want to talk a bit about my Wings of Fire au/timeline for my ocs. They're still built around the canonical timeline (at least at first, it gets nuts as it goes lol) I just don't really mention or bring main characters into it other than mentions of queens and stuff for timeline reference. This is very long! And feel free to ask questions about any of it! I'd love to expand on it even more!!!

At the start of it it all goes back to slightly after the scorching when the main dragon tribes were being established and the dragons started to mostly resemble their tribes. A lot of my ocs in this time are small groups within the emerging tribes trying to decide how to split up their power and lead other dragons. There's a lot of differences in the tribes compared to how they are in the books.

After this is a few hundred years before Darkstalker's time and just random dragons with random stories.

After that is sometime between Darkstalker and the Sandwing war. It focuses on my ocs Dartfrog and Thaw and their story which is actually the beginning of my main ocs stories.

Then my random dragon ocs and Lightstealer exist in or right after the book timeline exist.

And quite a few years after the books (the current queens in the last wof books are either gone or very old at this point) is when my main ocs take place. This is when I have the most fleshed out world building for the future. During this time I've imagined a safe haven school and community of dragons that's been established between the Icewing and Sandwing borders much like Possibility. It's primarily filled with hybrid dragons since it is one of the few other accepting places. This is the school my main ocs attend including Dale and his friends as well as the new oc I'm currently working on since it would also make a lot of sense for them to live somewhere between their tribes. Also in general hybrid dragons are on the rise due to the peace and work of the DoD, Rain/Night hybrids probably being the most common since those tribes have grown closer in my au. There's also now boats and travel routes between Pyrrhia and Pantala so it has become more possible for dragons to travel between continents though it is still not very common to do so.

Then the next section of this timeline and au is a few thousand years later. I'm very excited about this because the world has completely changed. Technology has advanced and it is much like a Victorian steampunk world! The tribes still exist but the kingdoms not so much. Instead they have become giant cities and capitals, though a few kingdoms do still exist, like the Icewing kingdom though it has expanded into more of an empire. And the sea and rainwing kingdoms still exist but are much larger. Everything has begun to modernize. Dragon names have changed slightly too with the more things that exist. There are buildings that dragons live in, somewhat inspired by the hives (originally inspired by humans but I don't much care for them and am ignoring them even though they do technically still exist in this world lol) Many dragons are hybrids, the rain/night kingdom has a small group that appears to be becoming its own tribe much like how Hivewings are descended from Clearsight and the Beetle wings (though notably it probably makes more sense with the Rain/Night dragons since Clearsight was just 1 dragon and these are 2 tribes merging, but I won't get into that mess). Nightwings have their abilities back but they are quite weak compared to what they were originally. Pyrrhian and Pantalan dragons exist between the continents completely, so it's very normal to see dragons from each place living on the other continents. Pantala has a glorious and beautiful mega-city kingdom and a council of dragons from each Pantalan tribe running it. Also the Nightwing kingdom has been somewhat restored and a smaller group of Nightwings reside there trying to preserve/restore the ancient Nightwing way of life. This part of the timeline follows Stopwatch the Nightwing/descendant of Dale and his journey into the future. Also I should note that animus magic is even rarer than ever. Stopwatch is also an animus.

Then there's even more changes in the futures that Stopwatch explores, including:

- A few hundred years from his time an apocalypse of sorts has occurred and dragons are separated into a rebellious group and an overruling group that commands the cities. Everything has been leveled and there is a lot of dust, flat land, and little drinkable water. Industrialization happened and there's factories and tons of pollution, the sky is constantly grey and cloudy looking like it's always about to rain but it only ever does occasionally and it's usually acidic. Pantala has been walled off by the overruling group and the wealthy likely live there. It's almost like Pyrrhia is experiencing the same problem Pantala did but much worse on the environment. Tribes and kingdoms are nearly non-existent and at least half the dragon population has extreme hybridization to the point of being almost unrecognizable as any single tribe, almost all of them are unique especially in the rebel groups. The few dragons that are recognizable have changed such as: Nightwings no longer have powers or stars on their wings or it's rare and valued, rainwings have lost their acid spit but are bigger and stronger, seawings have begun to lose their glowing spots. Animus dragons no longer exist (at least to anyone's knowledge). My oc Honor is a unique dragon from the rebel groups that goes along with Stopwatch to the next future.

The future after this is another thousand or so years later. Everything is covered in thick green forest and the sky is incredibly clear. Currently I have only established 1 large kingdom which exists right in the middle of Pyrrhia though there are others. It is giant and covered in gold and lights because it is electric. There are also elements of scifi happening as there is very advanced technology even some surpassing what does in real life. There are many groups of royalty from different kingdoms but they work collaboratively to run parts of their kingdoms and mostly just hold fancy gatherings. There is no major ruler for any of these places. More than half the population is hybridized but at this point they're really just something new. Stopwatch and Honor meet Prince Squall (a dragon that slightly resembles an Icewing) who they also bring along with them later on when they return to the past and then back to the future again.

Then things get strange and downright unrecognizable. Only a sliver of time is seen here because Stopwatch and Honor travel incredibly far into the future and they don't stop here. All they see is a flash of mass destruction and the form of a massive firescales animus destroying everything and killing many dragons.

After this they are no longer in Pyrrhia. In fact they are no longer on the planet. Instead dragons have built and adapted to a massive galactic empire spaceship. Queen Uranium (resembling a Nightwing) runs the ship and the entire dragon population. No specific dragon species exist though some do appear to resemble the original tribes and are likely evolved versions of them. Stopwatch and Honor meet Alloy (a dragon resembling a Mudwing) who works as one of the millions of spaceship engineers. (Stopwatch goes back to the past to get Honor's fathers and also ends up bringing Squall with him, and Squall and Alloy end up together. It's very cool).

Lastly another many years into the future, to a point where Stopwatch can't bring them back to the past they find themselves on the planet again, or maybe somewhere else though there's still 3 moons. And everything is wild and jungle. No other dragons to be seen (though there are some out there, I just haven't worked on any of them yet).

(All of which will not exactly fit into canon WoF lore but it will be,,,, adjacent to it. Cannot guarantee that this will be spoiler free. Also will not be BNHA spoiler free. There will be spoilers.)

Starting with Edgejeanist (obviously)

Tsunagu - SilkWing: I feel like this was an obvious choice. They're the only tribe that can produce literally silk from their wrists, which is pretty dang close to fiberkinesis so I meannn :))

Shin'ya - RainWing: Ngl I was debating super hard on whether to make him a RainWing or HiveWing bc I absolutely ADORE the forbidden Silk/Hive romance dynamic, and I also briefly considered making him a NightWing because dark and mysterious. In the end, I had to go with Rain though because they're stealthy and deadly and I think that suits Shin'ya more. Also they're my favorite tribe.

((( I'm aware that those two tribes exist on totally different continents, but I got this funky idea for a stealth mission, where a certain little RainWing disguises himself as a HiveWing, and on his mission he runs into a SilkWing starting a rebellion :)

Enji - SkyWing: I feel like this one was obvious, too. Big, fiery, red dragon fits the vibe too well.

Rei - IceWing: Makes sense, right?

(((Obviously because of that, their kids are hybrids. Which would most likely make them outcasts to both tribes. How I see it is that something went down and now Rei, Natsuo, Fuyumi, and Shoto live in Possibility while Enji stays in the Sky Kingdom. I have some cool design ideas in mind for those guys.

Hawks - SkyWing: He doesn't have the typical SkyWing personality, but I think the fact that they're the best flyers makes up for that. It also gives a good reason for him to be working with Enji so frequently :)

Kuugo - SeaWing: This one's a no-brainer too lol. Dude is literally an orca, might as well make him a sea dragon (I ALSO have a cool design idea for him)

Kamui - LeafWing: Easy. I think it would fit him if he had the leafspeak ability, too!

Takeyama - RainWing: I struggled with her. I didn't want to make her a SkyWing (even though they live in the mountains) because she certainly does not fit the Vibe™ but I ended up going with RainWing because their camouflage is the closest you can get to transformation in this world I think? Without using animus magic ig. The personality kind of fits, too.

Rumi - Ice/NightWing: I couldn't think of anything else that fit?? her??? Ice fits her color palette and Night for her luna theme ig!! Also white rabbits that live in the tundra :))

Midnight - NightWing: Her name is a giveaway for this one lol

Snipe - SandWing: Desert. Cowboy. yes.

Thirteen - SeaWing: My brain made a connection between astronauts and the ocean. It makes sense in my head I swear.

Cementoss - MudWing: Concrete. Earthy :)

Fatgum - MudWing: Family type? I think?? Either way, he's built big and strong so it works out.

Nighteye - NightWing: From the name again. Also literal future vision.

All Might - RainWing: Stereotyped to be useless in-universe (so like, quirkless? but not really), but I also think it would be cool if he was an animus. Kind of like this au's equivalent to ofa. It works out because the color changing thing could be an equivalent to the transforming thing, too :O

AFO - either NightWing or HiveWing: I have yet to figure this one out because the tribes are ruled by queens not kings, but I wanted to incorporate the hivemind thing with him somehow. I feel like that would suit his character. Either that or make him an animus, which might suit him better. We'll see about that //shrug//

Touya - Ice/SkyWing: The only reason I'm marking him separately from his siblings is I think it would make a lot of sense for him to have firescales. (I have yet to work this out because I know he needs a twin for that, I might just work that around so that Fuyumi's his twin in this au.)

Skeptic - NightWing: I think it'd be cool if he had prophetic powers!!

Compress - HiveWing: Idrk with this one. Nothing else seemed to suit him and it fits his color palette anyway ┐⁠(⁠ ⁠∵⁠ ⁠)⁠┌

Toga - HiveWing: I was going to make her a RainWing because of their color changing scales, but I think it would suit her better to give her an animus-touched object that allows her to totally change her appearance instead. HiveWing for her because they can be pretty dangerous.

Shigaraki - Ice/SandWing?: Subject to change because I really genuinely don't know what to do for him. I'm thinking AFO could be an animus who gave Shigaraki animus powers, too? Leaving him as an Ice/Sand for now because it fits his colors and he's also dry (crusty) lmao

Spinner - SilkWing: ┐⁠(⁠´⁠(⁠エ⁠)⁠｀⁠)⁠┌ Green and purple scales

Shirakumo - IceWing: He doesn't exactly fit the IceWing personality, but they're the only tribe with cloud names that I know of.

Kurogiri - NightWing: Okok I know they're the same dragon but HEAR ME OUT. Animus magic. Kinda like the situation with Winter's brother in book 7. (Basically magic used to completely change someone's identity. With this specific spell, he wouldn't remember his previous identity.) I also think this would be kind of interesting to play around with the Ice/Night kingdom feud :]

Mic - SandWing: There's not really a tribe that has a particularly loud roar or anything, I think?? But I figured SandWing fit because they're a musical tribe and Mic is a DJ :))

Aizawa - NightWing: Nocturnal, stealthy in shadows, and general commanding presence.

Shinsou - NightWing: I mean.? Mind reading abilities!! Fits too well!!!

Eri - SilkWing: Specifically a flamesilk! Not that her character has anything to do with fire, but I think this suits her. I was originally going to make her an animus, but this fit better in my head.

Mirio - SandWing: I have the impulse to make every blond character a SandWing and I'm letting it slide this time (⁠ ⁠；⁠∀⁠；⁠)

Nejire - SilkWing: They were the closest vibe, I don't really have a good explanation for her 😅

Tamaki - RainWing: Color changing abilities are kind of like shapeshifting, right? I need to stop defaulting to RainWing for this ahskajsk

Hatsume - RainWing: RainWings are surprisingly creative, but also one of her main colors is pink.

Rody - Sand/MudWing: Idk, I just wanted to include him?? I really liked him. I think the background of him growing up in the Scorpion Den with his siblings is pretty canon compliant.

Midoriya - Rain/SandWing: Ngl I had no idea what to do with him other than the fact that I wanted him to be an animus, like All Might. Because he's a hybrid, he ended up not having any natural features of either tribes.

Bakugo - SandWing: Not exactly fiery, but it suits his color palette better. He could use those cactus bombs that are pretty explosive. Also SandWings are my second favorite tribe lol. Both him and Deku grew up in Possibility with Shoto.

Ochako - SeaWing: She can float with her quirk, and swimming underwater is kind of like floating, right?

Ojiro - RainWing: Prehensile tail :) Also they live in the rainforest with monkeys so it fits. Bonus that RainWings are way underestimated too often. Briefly considered making him a SeaWing bc of their powerful tails, but settled with Rain for all the other reasons :>

Tsuyu - RainWing: Camouflage and agility! Also lives in the rainforest with the tree frogs!

Mina - RainWing: They have the whole venomous acid thing???? Yeah.

Sero - Silk/HiveWing: He fits the HiveWing color palette too well, but being able to produce silk from his wrists is pretty darn close to his quirk!! So he's a forbidden child :O

Shoji - SeaWing: Octopus theme!! Blue! Ocean vibes!!!

Tokoyami - NightWing: Darkness, mystery, strange telepathic abilities? Yes.

Kuroiro - NightWing: Same reason ^

Honenuki - HiveWing: Once again couldn't think of anything else for him but I wanted to include him because I love this kid. It fits his colors and I think the vibe passes.

an: this was the first hybrid reader that i wrote so I hope its like you imagined! :)

The morning when your life changed didn't seem like a special one at first. The air was brisk, leaving the taste of last night's rain on your tongue, gray mist wafted over the wet lawn so that you couldn´t even make out your sleeping spot between the trees as you flew off.

With your belongings in two bags stretched in front of your chest, you flew through the dense clouds, enjoying crushing them with your wings, or flying high enough that you could easily drop down.

Below you the lush forests and verdant meadows, sparkling lakes and vast seas, snowcapped mountains and deep valleys accompanied you, the steady wind between your fingertips and in your hair, the feeling of freedom in your wings.

What you didn't count on was the near-collision with another person when you glided head first into one of the clouds.

Just barely you managed to pull up on your wings, which resulted in you falling to the earth, and you fell fast. Along with your cursing, you could also make out an, "Oi mate! Look out!", as the person followed you down.

After a few panicked seconds of falling and somehow safely spreading your wings again, you set down to land in the meadow over which you had just been. As soon as you kicked your feet into the ground, leveling the blades of grass around you to the ground with a final flap of your wings for balance, you ran through the knee-high grass to where a young blond man was landing.

But even though it looked like the blond survived the fall too, you wanted to make sure, after all, it was your fault in the first place.

"Hey. Are you okay?" you called out to the blond man, stopping a few feet in front of him. "Sorry, I wasn't paying attention to see if anyone was under me." Embarrassed, you rubbed your hand on the back of your neck.

The blond, busy knocking the dirt off his wide green pants shook his head. "It's all right mate, nothing else happened. You okay as well?" he inquired.

You nodded, opening your wings to be on the safe side, whereupon the blond followed your example, even if, strangely, he stuck out his chest and shook himself.

Behind him you could see three more people running towards you and automatically you tensed your shoulders, closing your wings in your back. One of them, judging by the childish face the youngest of them, was still yelling from afar something about, "Phil! That was awesome!", whereupon Phil also turned around and visibly relaxed.

"Tommy no, that was dangerous," the tall skinny brunette admonished, but the blond- Tommy- rolled his eyes

"Will, did you see them fall out of the sky?"

You grinned, fond of the boy and his view on life. "Yo, I'm (y/n)." you introduced yourself, loosely holding out your hand for the boy to pound his fist against.

"Tommy- your wings are badass! Can you show them to me again?" Tommy took a step closer as you spread your wings out their length. Not only Tommy, but the tall brunette and the other, a pink-haired one with pointier ears and red eyes examined your wings with interest. Phil was the only one who just nodded at you.

"They're really extraordinary, I've never seen feathers like that before," the pink-haired one murmured, and your ears grew hot.

Even though you were used to showing off your wings, it was weird every time.

"Will, look at how long the feathers are at the very bottom. They look really strong, you can fly with them in any weather, and then those muscles"

"Techno shut up, you're treating them like a display piece!"

"Oh, no problem." you laughed and grinned at the group. "He's right after all, no rain or wind can hurt me with those, maybe another person in the sky, but otherwise I'm unbeatable."

Now Phil was smiling too, albeit with a glint in his eye. "Fancy a race?

"I like your optimism but you won't win that."

Ya know those daydreams, or those scenarios you come up with at night? Not the complete fantasy ones, the ones that, in theory at least, are achievable in our world? Like when you picture your ideal life, if the world was as beautiful as you want it to be?

Mine is always by the sea. Not standing on a cliff, close enough to marvel at the sheer strenght and power and raw wild beauty of the crashing waves during a lightning storm; I do do that, ideally, but it doesn't seem like a safe place for a house, nor for pets, ya feel me? The stormy cliff moments are mine and mine alone, a piece of willing solitude and yet surrounded by the forces of nature, praying that their strenght will strenghten me.

The house is big, but not so stupidly tall I can't clean it without creaking my neck. It's filled with stuff, but they're all secured behind glass enclosures, because I hate dusting knick knacks.

It's in a small town, or location, rather, close enough to a city so that I can still go to it, and then retreat home, grateful I don't have to live in such a fast-paced world.

I keep to myself, mostly, but I'm kind and polite, and the others do me the same courtesy. I feel safe, yet not scrutinized.

I'm able to bike around the place, even though I own a car, mostly so I can transport my friends in it. The bike is very light blue, like baby blue, but not as grey, with light coloured tires, ideally cream coloured, and it has a basket on the front.

I should have a proper car, a modest one, yet modern, ideally electric or hybrid. But in my dreams I have an old, maybe even one of the originals "breadloafs", like we call it in my country, a VW Westfalia, I think it's called, with a spare tire on the front. I cared for it, and maybe remodeled it a bit, nothing too drastic, just making it mine.

Yet I use it only for long trips. Within the location I bike. To and from work, to and from shopping, to and from a little café or ice cream store, or churro stand. I always bike through a path from where I can view the beach and the ocean, a morning ritual I refuse to abandon. I consider doing it when it rains, and sometimes I do; most times I don't.

I work at a book store. It's an older building, older than me, but not as old as my grandparents. I've given it a little light, a little more life; I've given it love, and it gives me love in return.

I sell all books, from old uptight classics to the latest raunchy manga; diversity is key to a balanced life.

It's not a tourist trap, nothing in the location is. People pass by. Some stay, some go, it's just how it is. Business is fine, and it affords me a little leeway to live in confort.

The whole location as a bit of a studio Ghibly vibe, but more realistic, buildings-wise. It's overall bright and pleasant, but some buildings are old, very old, and it shows. They're not derelict yet; they stand strong, but they'll need some maintenance soon; and we'll be there for them, like they've been here for so many of us.

I adopt old pets. The kind that no one wants, even some sickly ones, but not those so sick that I have to not work to stay with them always; I still can't give them all they need; I do what I can.

I know they'll die soon. I hope their last moments are filled with love and at least a little bit of happiness. It hurts when they go. It always does. It always will. But I find solace in giving them a safe home as their last restinga place, before moving on to wherever the Universe sees fit.

I'm at peace, at long last.

I've never lived by the sea, why do I crave it's presence and it's aesthetic so much? Where does my undying love for nautical things come from? Why do I feel both nostalgic and happy and complete whenever I see a lighthouse, of all things?
