Thanks so much for tagging me @noodlesoup1819
What's the origin of your username: I was (and still am) a huge hannigram shipper since 2015. Was mildly obsessed.
OTP+ ship name: Honestly, I have a huge amount of them because I love them differently, but with the same amount in my heart. Currently, I'd say NieYao (from mdzs) have consumed my every waking thought. I could talk about them forever. Don't test me.
Favorite color: Green! Like dark, forest green! Cover of my phone currently XD
Song stuck in your head: Wasting My Young Years by London Grammar.
Weirdest habit/trait you have: Like my mutual, I can crack absolutely way too many joints. Seriously. Why are my ankles and elbows and tailbone cracking?
Hobbies: I write poetry and sketch, mostly.
Profession: Currently working min wage as I study Computational Mathematics!
If you could work any job you wish, what would it be: I'd like to be paid for writing tbh! If I could be a successful novelist or screenwriter or anything like that!
Something you're good at: Playing pool and blackjack. They're not really skills, but I'm pretry good.
Something you hate: When people take the elevator to the second floor when the stairs are right there and there's like 10 of them and you have a line to the elevator that goes to the higher floors and the stairs for those are far on the other side. At my uni. SERIOUSLY, UNLESS UR HANDICAPPED, THE STAIRS ARE RIGHT. FUCKING. THERE.
Something you collect: Funko pops!
Something you forget: Everything before my math exams.
What's your love language: Watching tv shows/movies/sharing music together.

Best character trait: I don't get offended easily and I don't hold grudges. Literally it takes so much to upset me, and I'm generally understanding and forgiving.
Worst character trait: I think i'm a little selfish/self-centered? Like the world doesn't revolve around me, but I do be acting like it does.
If you could travel in time, who would you like to meet: My father again, before he died.

*throws more blankets at you while also sending hugs* Okay, let's see...screw it, crossover. Your characters playing Among Us, what are they like? Doesn't have to be in depth or anything
*takes blanket (and your hugs) in a tight wrap*
"Doesn't have to be in depth", you know who you're talking to, right? If it gets too long, I'll put it under a cut. It'll be both Imposter and Crewmate (I'm basic, shhh), and which one they prefer playing as. Edit: It got too long with Ezhno alone. It's under the cut.
Ezhno Nies ArcCoil
Ezhno doesn't play many mobile games that aren't one handed, so he wouldn't have a lot of experience playing. On a computer, it's a little different, but generally still the same rules applies. He actually prefers playing imposter, since it's less buttons to focus on, and he's surprisingly good at it. He's silent in chatting and allows others to give alibis. Unless it's voice chat, then he actually talks. On crewmate, he's DEFINITELY the last one to get his tasks done, even in ghost form. It's just difficult for him to move fast.
Keegan Moore
Keegan isn't a fan of Among Us, since he just hates lying. If he does play, he prefers crewmate, as he likes to focus on tasks. He is the type of person to ignore dead bodies right beside him and get accused of being imposter and getting voted out. Generally pretry quiet in chat, since he's not good at communicating, same thing with voice chat. If he does get imposter, there's a 50/50 shot of him leaving the game and entering a new lobby. Only time he doesn't is with friends, but you can TELL he's imposter, since he votes himself to leave.
Malli Till
Oh, lord, do NOT give this boy imposter. He likes playing Among Us, and tries to play both sides of it, but he likes being crewmate and sneaking around. Being the imposter is anxiety inducing to him, especially if his partner leaves the game, or it's a single-imposter game. He's more chatty in game than he is in real life, both voice and messages.
Riker Larsen
He'll try to play casually, but ends up getting WAY competitive. He's the type of guy to throw his phone on the bed and scream in anguish like his first born just got killed in front of him at a loss of a very good game. And the go about his day like nothing happened. He likes both roles and takes them both seriously. He's also the guy to start with the questions 'who and where' to the person who found the body.
Joey Garcia
They're the type of person to just do what they're told by the game, silently do it, but throw in false information to cause. chaos. Like, people learn to take her information like a penny in a pocket to a rich man. They just love it. There are some points where they take it seriously, but mostly, just being chaos.
Kyro Davis
Uh.. Kyro doesn't actually know WHAT Among Us is. They've owned a pager or Nokia for most of their life. They have no clue what mobile games actually are. If they did play, they'd just be very confused of what the fuck is happening.
Marc Åström
He doesn't actually have mobile games on his phone, the only game he has is Minesweeper, and a few games that Gremlin has downloaded. He mostly uses his phone for communication, and prefers playing arcade games like pinball, Fix-it Felix, or Pac-Man. He also likes the coin pushers, oddly. But, yeah. Has never touched a console, computer, or mobile game that wasn't a basic.
Damen Michaels
Fucking LOVES playing imposter. Right out the bat. Being able to act sneaky and corner someone to kill them, using doors and lights to his advantage. This boy has developed strategy from playing as imposter so much. Honestly? 9 times out of 10, he's the type of person to make Riker rage, because he's just good at it. He's also good at being crewmate and guessing who the imposter is, but he loves being imposter himself.

" and besides all this, she must possess a certain something in her air and manner of walking, the tone of her voice, her address and expressions, or the word will be but half deserved.”"
♡♡♡ The something else♡♡♡
♡ Your posture - it changes how you look, your clothes, and how others percieve you, and honestly? You feel better, more confident
♡Your manners - be polite to other people no matter who, please amd thank you go a long way.
-watch a couple of youtube videos on elegance and good manners
♡ Your clothing - this isnt about luxury or expensive brands!!
- Be sure that your clothes fit you well! Try on your clothes and see which ones need better fitting, you can fix and mend them yourself if you have the means (its what I do!) Or you can take them to a seamstress or a taylor.
- Figure out your personal coloring (I like the 12 seasons one!) This way is easier to see which clothing, makeup and jewery better suits you (I belive I'm a dark autum)
- Fix your clothes! They can have a much longer life than you think, re-dye them if needed (specially jeans), chek out embroidery or visible mending to fix little holes and such, turn old clothes in to new ones (I made a pretry dress from a pair of pants that didnt fit me anymore).
-Iron your clothes! Theres no use to have well fitting, beautiful clothes if they're looking all frumpy (this is one I'm particular guilty of, I can be lazy with ironing)
*more to be added to this topic in the future

7 graphic novels in 7 days // day 7
I have finished this challenge on a high note. Today's book is Salvezza by Marco Rizzo and Lelio Bonaccorso. This book is the result of the experience of the two authors who stayed for 3 weeks on the Aquarius, a ship used by SOS Méditerranée, in collaboration with other associations, to help migrants in the Libyan sea. This was graphic journalism done in the best way possible, it's very simple and straight forward. You are presented with the experiences of the migrants, but you also see how these ships work and what the crew has to do. The illustrations were perfect, the art was good, but the strong point was the idea of using only neutral colours plus the colour orange. Orange is the colour that symbolizes safety and help when you're at sea, and it was a very elegant choice to implement that, it gave so much more to the whole book. I was afraid that, since the topic of this graphic novel is pretry heavy, the book could have been a bit challenging to read, but it was so well done I read it in one sitting. There are enough explanations for you to understand every bit of the story and how things work, but they're also incredibly accessible. I feel like this was an exeptionally good way to share this kind of story, and this reality that many people try to ignore in their day to day lives.

* Golden Dawn
it's pulled from the Golden Dawn (via Crowley, from the letters between him and Gardner). I'm not sure whether it necessarily has as much in common with stuff like Thelema, which is what's more like Crowley's only.
Just a minor correction.
adding on further my opinion/ things to watch for/ etc re: Wicca under the cut because idk how to stfu
garlicthevampire, if you look at the Wikipedia articles on both Wicca and Golden Dawn, you'll see what their tenets are and what to watch out for because they've influenced the majority of the modern witchcraft and paganism movement(s) in the West. like, Llewyn has a lot to do with that yes, but I don't think they're the only reason?
Anyway, both GD and Wicca love the concepts of Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine, and the dichotomy thereof. Which in of itself is not necessarily bad or terrible. Those concepts/ archetypes can be useful. but those systems leave no room for anything which lies outside that dichotomy, for anything that just is None Of The Above.
Grey also mentioned all the appropriation: GD more than Wicca uses Kabbalism which is a closed practice; it's Jewish.
Wicca's Wheel of the Year really works well for many modern pagans by splitting up the Gregorian (modern) calendar pretry evenly. But it pulls from a combination of Anglo-Saxon and Celtic holidays. (and "Celtic" is such an umbrella term like paganism: there's Irish and Scottish and Welsh and so many other cultures that fall under that umbrella which are vastly different.)
Appropriation is not good because it causes harm to the marginalized communities that stuff is appropriated from so that's why they don't want you to do it.
But aside from that, I wouldn't say there is such a thing as a system or religion being Bad tm. Wanting to make sure you Do It Right Tm is your cultural Christianity rearing its ugly head. Breathe. Don't let the puritanical panic get to you, newbie.
hi! i'm a new witch and don't know much, i hi! Im a new witch and i was gonna research wicca but now im having second thoughts, could you elaborate on why you don't like it or why people should avoid it? i'm genuinely curious, i don't want my practice to accidentally involve somthing bad
Well it depends on the approach. Wicca as a spiritual or religious practice is (mostly) harmless. From this perspective the worst aspect of it is the cultural appropriation. But I would say that all of it is bad. It just contains some unnatural religious syncretism.
That said, as a tradition or practice of witchcraft it is simply put wholly ineffective and downright harmful. As a occult practice, it is pretty much a 1:1 duplication of Crowley- who was not only a piece of shit, but was also batshit. As an occult practice, it relies nearly entirely on correspondences and visualization. Like Crowley’s work, it contains just enough stuff that sounds and feels right (appropriated) that it seems like it could work- but it’s a mashing of metaphysics and magical ideas without any of the important contexts that made the ideas functional. Like Reiki and The Law of Attraction, it’s basically just make believe. I am writing an article about this where I’ll go more in depth and provide sources but I have no timeline for its completion. Maybe this summer.
I wouldnt say Wicca is bad. It’s just ineffective. Magically speaking the worst thing is that publishers like Llewelyn have made Wiccan magic so prominent that finding other practices becomes difficult.

Idk why I got a very horrible feeling that they might end Spongebob at S13. But I also think that's not possible bc Spongebob is Nick's only source for money. But I just realized how much they're airing TLH (Blechhh) more than Spongebob and sometimes it even gets more views. I mean it's not like I'm saying they should stop airing that show and only air Spongebob, by that I mean is that they didn't air all episodes from S12 (Only a few) in the US. (Idk abt other countries).
I got quite a few asks after I went to sleep! But I'm happy to answer!
I hope the show doesn't end on the 13th. I know everything must come to an end but if the show could hold out and last a little longer so it could end on my lucky number as it's final season would be great.
Jokes aside tho I'm not quite sure about the future of spongebob. It certainly isn't as popular as it once was before. Merchandise basically disappeared where I live and my friend was even telling me the other day that it's pretty surreal how it used to be everywhere then suddenly disappeared in recent years.
I don't keep up with nick as a channel tho since I've never watched spongebob on Nick and I don't have cable but I heard views for newer episodes are declining. Still the show holds prime time and gets aired frequently. Only once did it not air for a day on nickelodeon and that's very recent which could be spongebob losing its grasp on the network but I don't really think it's so alarming? Like one day doesn't really do anything, I didn't even know Nick literally played it every single day for 10+ years so it's okay. The show is still popular. There was an article from quite recently that SB is still the most popular cartoon in north america so it's still doing pretty good. I know season 12 wasn't complete before put on dvd though most episodes from season 12 already aired (idk in the US) only the last few didn't. I assumed maybe it has something to do with Covid? It's a stretch but it's just a guess.
Now some might be concerned by things like the recent episodes since they aren't that popular (they get a lot of hate from the funky expressions) and that's a possibility. Generally the new movie can hint what the newer seasons might be like and all I can guess is that spongebob is going to be more cooperate and business focused with things like spinoffs and stuff instead of the show itself. There's also that super bowl short they made where Sandy explains football to Spongebob and it got well liked. I'm assuming it was made after the movie and people, even classic fans liked it since it was calmer than the usual expressiveness of season 12 (though I usually take their opinion with a grain of salt) so there might be some hope?
There's also the fact of the new spongebob movie and how well it preformed. It got pretty hated by the usual cartoon reviewers. Probably for the connections with camp coral. Though the movie had good reviews when it was exclusively released in Canada in theatres. It was also number one kids movie in France for a while and was trending in Japan (I've heard spongebob is pretry popular in Japan anyways) so I think internationally it did pretty good. Even people who didn't really keep up with the show liked the movie.
I can see spongebob probably still staying popular. Not as much as before and Nick starting to relax it's hold on SB and give other shows a chance. We can't be sure for the future until we actually see season 13 and I hope it's good enough to keep the show going.
Whatever might happen, I'm okay with it. I look forward tot he future of spongebob and even if it ends, it had a good run. I enjoy it and like rewatching it. It's not really over until you stop enjoying it. With that being said, spongebob will continue to live on within our hearts and in our minds.

Part one out of how many? They're not even at the tree yet lmao
Yes hello just to clarify, that first line was a joke. I'm not sure how obvious it comes across over text lol
He dosent even have the 'getting chased by a giant leech' either. And how is andromeda still going then? She also got dumped into an icy lake! Do i just put that down to no heavy egg + is an adult + trained assassin?
Callisto and ram: using their full-sized, have-killed-people-before weapons against tiny arachnids for 28 and 20 years, respectively
It was whem ram flattened his ears because of the spiders, I was like 'aHA yes I love it when people give non-humans non-human characteristics'. I love that your doing it, it males the story feel so much more real (well. Not real but you get my meaning)
Ok yes I agree that is very fair. But YOU KNOW WHAT I NEVER EVEN THOUGT OF THE FACT SHE WOULDN'T THINK ANYONE WOULD COME SAVE HER OH MY GODS THIS POOR CHILD SOMEONE HUG HER
The only thing these two have ever agreed upon, in their however many years they've known each other, is that spiders are evil
Honestly at this point I wouldn't be surprised if they admitted to it in front of corvus just because they know that they can easily kill him if need be. But thank you for the comedy callisto, I appreciate it
Rayla is evil lmao. Everyone here is evil. Apart from callum and maybe corvus they've done nothing wrong
Ezran if you weren't a small innocent child, I mightve been inclined to call you a little shit
Rip the mummy 😔 but that's completely fair tho, I mean I was a very odd child and loved that scene for some reason, but I can definitely see how it's unsettling
Callisto: 'holy shit holy shit help there's a spider oh god I'm gonna die'. Callisto 10 minutes later: 'pft haha what a loser me from 10 minutes ago was, can you imagine?'
Especially corvus. I mean, andromedas probably somewhat used to it, because if all the illusions in the moonsshadow forest, so even if she thought they were real she's got some experience with scary monsters. Corvus though? Poor guy got shoved into this woth absolutely no warning. No past experiences. He went in blind and he's doing amazing
Damn raylas turn to be used as a meat shield ig
Rams pretending that he wasn't scared, and everyone goes along with it
'As long as it's safe to do so' ram and callispt would disagree with the 'safe' part there. But yes i agree
They know it. The other elves know it. I'm pretty sure the humans know it. Everyone knows
And i love her for it
Damn that is sad :(
Pft my previous point about them being able to kill corvus stands here as well. But damn poor corvus, being forgotten by everyone
I'm still not sure what that phrase has done. It's changed something but I'm not sure what. Or if that's a good or bad change
Ellis has enough energy for the entire planet and then some
Who's gonna be having an external crisis? Very curious
I cannot for the life of me remember what it's from, but I'm pretry sure there's a scene from a show where someone is talking about their position and they keep understating it, and there's another guy sat right behind them saying 'expert' everytime they said they were only average at something? Andromeda is that other guy here
It's that one thing with 'why does so and so call you baby girl' 'how about we stop talking now'
If you hadn't put 'they'd make the peak by dawn' as literally the last line I would belive you. But it's the fact it's the last line. And the stuff before. It makes me skeptical
Different Path Taken Ch21 P1 Wonderstorm
I was real tired for a few days and couldn't finish it but here's part 1 of the next chapter. This chapter should finish out the events of Season 1 of the show, once I'm done with it.
“There it is!” Ellis said brightly, pointing up at a twisted tree silhouetted in moonlight on the horizon, far up the slope. “That’s the tree I hid in with my Ava, where the miracle healer found us! Well, the Guardian.”
“We should be able to make that within the hour.” Runaan estimated.
Privately, Callisto suspected he was overestimating the children’s capabilities. It hadn’t escaped their notice how heavy little Ezran’s steps were and how the boy’s head hung down as they walked once they had caught up with the scouts. Besides, they had other obstacles to deal with.
“Spiders.” They muttered like a swear as they used their glaive to cut away some webbing from the path ahead, keeping it at arm’s length. Should they be using their full length glaive with one hand like this? No. Were they doing it anyway to stay away from the damned spiders? Yes. “Why did it have t’be f- spiders that survived over here?”
Ezran tilted his head at them. “Are you afraid of spiders, Callisto?” He asked curiously. “They’re not so bad.”
“I maintain that anyone with an ounce of sense is at least a little afraid of spiders,” Ram insisted from ahead of them, also scowling at the webs with his ears laid back, and waiting while Rayla rolled her eyes and cut a path for him with her longer swords.
“Anyone?” Runaan prompted with an amused sort of tone.
“Yes,” Ram said haughtily.
“I’m not afraid of spiders, I’m just reasonably cautious of things that can kill me,” Rayla retorted. “Which is what you should be.” She pointed at him with her sword and an unimpressed expression.
Callisto growled with their own ears lying flat. “I actually almost agree with him. Spiders are a blight upon existence and I for one am terrified.” They cast a halfhearted glare at Skor, who was closest to them, and found him just smiling fondly at them. Their cheeks heated up under the soft look and they quickly turned back to the path and yelped as they almost ran into a thread, ducking quickly around it instead.
Corvus was staring at them in confusion. “What kind of spider could make a web this big?” He asked suspiciously, examining some of the webs closely. “I’ve never seen anything like it.”
“Magical spiders,” Runaan replied with no small amount of amusement.
He was taking far too much pleasure in all of their distress, in Callisto’s humble opinion.
“Did you hear that?” Ram yelped.
“No, everyone’s too busy talkin’.” Rayla replied spitefully.
“Hush!” Callum shushed her, looking around suspiciously. Ellis and Ava were even quiet, with the wolf’s ears laid back. Callisto cursed in their own mind as they pricked their ears up to listen, grip tight on their glaive.
The rustling of the webs sent a chill up their spine. It was the spiders. They knew it was the spiders. How many were there, to have built a nesting colony this size?
In the distance there was a voice. Someone moaned as if in pain and Callisto swore under their breath out loud.
“Did you hear-?” Callum asked, worriedly.
“Yep. Ignorin’ it. Keep walkin’.” Rayla ordered, finally sounding a bit tense herself, and marched ahead. Smart kid. Those voices weren’t real. They were never real. There was no reason for anyone else to be up here.
“But what if someone really needs help?” Ezran protested, tugging at her arm.
Runaan put a hand over his mouth briefly, his eyes sparkling entirely too much, and Callisto frowned at him. That was out of character. In what world was it funny for a small child to be concerned about someone’s life? Someone needed to explain to Ezran that these voices weren’t . . .
“Ezran, ye have a good heart.” Rayla was telling the boy sincerely, and then her expression and ears both went flat as she added, “It’s super annoyin’. I guess maybe a couple of us can go check.”
“No.” Callisto snapped. “No one’s leaving the group. There’s no reason for anyone else t’be up here. It wasn’t real. Whatever we heard, it’s not real. You know that, Rayla - this is a place of power just as much as Moonshadow Forest, we don’t follow the voices.”
Her eyes widened at the reminder and she winced. “Right. Yeah.”
“There’s always voices in the Forest and few of them are real,” Ram explained for the human children’s benefit, though he had both his daggers in hands and he only spared them a glance while searching the webs for the things they could hear shuffling around them. “If you follow them, they pull you into the darkness, into the wild, and then - well. Most don’t come back.”
“That’s enough of those stories,” Runaan admonished. “We keep moving. Do not split up. If you hear something, check with the rest of us. If no one else heard it, neither did you.”
They kept walking. Callisto hugged close to Skor’s path, letting him cover their wounded side. He did so without complaint, even conceding to pulling out his sword for their comfort though his eyes crinkled with amusement when he did so. The human children were sticking quite close to Runaan now. Ram and Rayla were scouting ahead, attached at the hip, and Andromeda and Corvus walked together as well, both seeming hardly bothered by the spiders. The human looked a bit unsettled by the sheer scale of the webbing, but Andromeda was just wary.
Thus it was that Rayla and Ram were the first to actually confront the spider. Ram shrieked while Callisto’s eyes were on the children and they flinched, brandishing their glaive up only to see him hiding behind Rayla. The girl was facing off against one of the largest spiders they’d ever seen and it took every ounce of discipline in their body not to recoil from it as well. How could something that size have survived in Katolis of all places? Most every magical creature in Katolis was stunted and small compared to their Xadian counterparts, without-
Wait. The spider chittered and postured but it wasn’t outright attacking even as they all scattered for cover. Callisto wasn’t immune to the panic, darting behind some rocks with Skor as soon as the others moved, their heart pounding in their chest as their nerves warred between not wanting to take their eyes off it and wanting to get away.
How could something that large have survived here?
A brief glance around revealed nothing but desolation under the webbing. There was nothing for it to feed on but the magic of the Nexus, and while that was necessary, it wouldn’t be enough to support a physical creature. Spiders still needed to eat. One this size would have a corresponding appetite, too, it would be willing to feed on things as large as drakes in Xadia. What even lived on this side of the breach that was big enough for them?
Unless -
Runaan had been amused.
He’d mentioned a training exercise.
Callisto glanced at Skor suspiciously. He raised his brows at their expression at first, and then a slow smile spread across his mouth as he nodded slightly.
They peeked around the rock at the spider, which hadn’t moved, and was still blocking their direct path up the slope, chittering aggressively.
A glance over at the rock behind which Runaan was hiding, nearly standing straight behind the stone in order to give the gaggle of children around him room to cower, revealed that Ezran didn’t look afraid either. Neither did Callum or Ellis. If anything, Ezran looked a bit delighted, and was giggling about something.
The Guardian of the Nexus used illusions to keep humans afraid of the slopes. This creature wasn’t behaving like a normal spider. There was nothing around that it could eat.
“It’s not fucking real, is it?” They hissed to Skor.
His smile broke into a fond grin and he shook his head.
“What are we going to do?” Ram’s voice had gone up several octaves and when they managed to find him, he was cowering behind a tree and Rayla this time, wide-eyed and nearly panicking.
Runaan at least had the decency to look a bit concerned at that, but Callisto didn’t want to gamble on his mercy when he’d apparently decided they all needed a lesson in being observant and aware of their surroundings. They all should have realized that a place like the Moon Nexus would be rife with illusions just like their forest was, especially with the Guardian shaping those illusions into reasons to keep the humans away.
“It’s not real.” They called irritably. “It’s an illusion. The Guardian’s using it to scare the humans back down the mountain. Why else would a creature this big be wandering around here where there’s nothing to eat?”
Andromeda groaned deep in her chest and audibly facepalmed. “Oh, we should have realized.”
“What about the creature down the -” Ram broke off and growled, glowering at Runaan. “That other creature that we passed before, that was dead - that wasn’t real either, was it?”
“No,” Runaan admitted, smiling gently at them. “It wasn’t. I was a bit disappointed you all didn’t realize that. There isn’t enough food around for a creature that size, either.”
There really wasn’t enough food around for anything to be confined to the mountain, except perhaps some birds. Callisto groaned and rubbed their own face. “You’re a cruel, cruel teacher sometimes, Runaan.”
“You did figure it out eventually,” Runaan replied placidly. “And no one was going to get hurt. My apologies to you both, though, I didn’t realize the next creature we would encounter would be a spider, or I might have had second thoughts. I know the two of you are -” there was that damned smile again - “uncomfortable with the creatures.”
“That’s one way of putting it,” Ram gingerly lowered himself from the tree with a distrustful glower at the illusion spider, which appeared to be stuck in their path, making the same few chitters on repeat.
Callisto scowled at Runaan too. “Absolutely bloody terrified,” They corrected, and flinched momentarily when they felt something on their shoulder before realizing it was Skor’s hand. Before he could remove it they tucked their glaive into the crook of their arm and grasped his hand to hold it there, looking over at him gratefully. While he’d clearly known as well, he had at least been there to comfort them through their fear. “Thank you.” They murmured softly to him.
Skor smiled much more softly than Runaan, and nodded, giving their shoulder a squeeze. He brushed his hand down their arm. It wasn’t quite a proper scent mark but it was as close as they generally got these days, and they took comfort in his assurance.
“Don’t worry, Ram,” Rayla was teasing him, smirking broadly. “I’ll still protect ye from the big scary illusion spider.”
Ram wrinkled his nose at her but he did, in fact, keep her and Callum between himself and the spider as they moved past it. Callisto couldn’t help the way their heart beat faster and the terrified quiver in their ears as they had to walk towards the creature, and then walk away with their back to it while it kept making those noises. It helped that Skor walked right at their heel and kept his hand on their shoulder or arm, something to remind them he was there to help.
“There should be nothing on these slopes worth fearing, anymore,” Runaan said with a note of regret as they left the spider behind. “The only thing we left worth protecting was the Nexus, and the Guardian’s illusions have been all that’s necessary to protect it for centuries now.”
“Centuries?” Corvus asked, frowning curiously.
“Magic is a muscle or a skill like any other, for an elf,” Runaan said, with a bit more chill in his words than when he spoke to Callum about the topic. “Those who exercise it more gain a greater well of it within themselves. Over time, a creature of magic may become more magic than flesh - and the flesh ceases to age. The Guardian of the Nexus has held her post for over three centuries.”
“So . . . how old are you?” Ellis asked. “You can do magic too! We saw you! When your hand glowed around that other thing, it did it did!”
He had fucking known all the way back there, the bastard. Callisto huffed, but tilted their head, curious how he would respond with all the humans present. It really wouldn’t tell them much, they supposed, so there was no real reason to keep it a secret, but it also was the sort of personal information that assassins usually wouldn’t speak about outside of the forest.
Runaan seemed to be having a similar internal debate before just sighing. “I’m thirty-five. I don’t have nearly the magical stores that an Archmage like the Guardian has - I just know a thing or two about illusions.”
“A thing or two,” Andromeda echoed almost mockingly. “Not as though you’re the best in the Assassins’ Guild with illusions or anything.”
Rayla scoffed. “It’s true though, he’s pretty weak as a mage compared to - uh. Compared to his husband.”
Callisto barked a laugh at her casual roast of her guardian, as Runaan scoffed in disbelief. “That’s enough of that,” Runaan said loftily. “We’re starting to get into the sort of information we don’t share outside the Forest.”
“Sure,” Rayla teased. “That’s why ye want me t’ stop.”
Callisto chuckled and focused on the path ahead, once more secure in the knowledge that the creatures they were hearing were nothing more than illusion. Perhaps Runaan was right, in that case. His estimation of how long it would take them to reach the rim made a lot more sense now. They’d make the peak before dawn.

YOU. YOU GET IT.
ALSO. I realised on the drive home that they could very likely use All Might as a bargaining tool in order to get Deku to come along with them with him fighting too much.
Like??? I know that grenade didnt kill him, but it did probably jostle him around enough for the villains to be able to restrain him.
"Come with us quietly or Smol Might be gets it."
And what do you think Dkeu is gonna do??? HE'S GONNA DO WHAT EVE THEY SAY. BECAUSE ITS ALLMIGHT!!! YOU THINK HE'S GONNA LET THEM HURT HIS MENTOR!??! like if the villains do any kind of research on deku they're gonna realize that All Mkght is a very important part of his life and Deku's already been shown to put his life on the line for people he doesnt even know, so for some one he cares about?!?!? YEAH HE'S GONNA DO WHAT THEY SAY. So HAVING ALL MIGHT IS A PRETRY DANG GOOD BARGANING CHIP.
(And then this would be the perfect time for All Might to bust out some Hero moves proving that even though he doesnt have his quirk anymore he was still the number one hero and the villains shouldnt have underestimated him >:) )
