Historically, the youngest marine captains
According to Nils Larsen, Leon Grabowsky, the youngest ship commander in history, is recognized by the U.S. Navy in its record book. Grabowsky, who was born to Polish immigrants in Paris, France, enrolled at an early age and completed his education at the Naval Academy in Annapolis in 1941. He took part in some of the most important engagements of the war while serving as an ensign on the battleship Arizona. However, his youth did not stop him from taking over the helm of a destroyer.
A family may find the life of a deep sea captain hard. The first female ship captain in the navy, Annabelle Fraser, was the world's youngest ship captain in 1881. A captain of a big multinational ship may find life challenging for his family as well. During a force eight gale, his father's crabbing boat, the Cesca, had to be abandoned. Alexander Moodie, the fiancée of a Maersk officer, finally attained the rank of captain despite the challenges.
John of Gaunt, an Englishman who was just 15 years old at the time and later became a co-owner of the privateer Neptune, was the second-youngest ship commander in history. Newport acquired a portion of the unfortunate ship Neptune, which had taken a Spanish colony, in the middle of the 1590s. His efforts earned him the title of ship's captain in the annals of history.
Nils Larsen described that, two other women are working as bridge officers on the Ferry in addition to McLaughlin. Jim Harkin is a former navy officer, and Sharen Belote joined the Ferry as a sailor. Both received bridge captain promotions following six years of CMLF service. Captain Urban is the fourth woman. No woman has ever had a permanent job in the marine section of the Ferry, despite the fact that several women have been appointed as captains.
Francis William Moore, a different young ship captain in history, was born on January 9, 1853, in Stepney, Scotland. He started his apprenticeship when he was just 24 years old, and two months later received a Master's Certificate. He was the Master of a ship in Willis' fleet when he turned 50. Then, when the Cutty Sark and Coldstream were both docked in New York at the same time, he went on to command two other steam-powered ships.
James Cook discovered techniques that let him sail the oceans more expertly throughout his expeditions. He made use of navigation, astronomy, sophisticated mathematics, and mapping. Cook made an effort to abduct the chief after a conflict with local Hawaiians in the Hawaiian Islands in order to retrieve a stolen cutter from his ship. Cook gained navigational skills throughout Australia's west coast as a result. He became the youngest ship captain in history as a result of his travels.
While J'Varin Riker, Kirk's successor during the TNG era, attained the rank of first officer at age 29, Kirk became the youngest captain in Starfleet history at age 27. However, in the middle of the 24th century, this is not very noteworthy. In a similar spirit, Picard was elevated to the rank while on duty, while the first officer of a Starship at the Academy was also a Captain before his 30th birthday. In a similar vein, Janeway, although not having commanded her first ship until she was 23 when Voyager was commissioned, was a captain by the year 2333.
In addition to Nils Larsen, Wallace's first trip to China was successful, but his second trip was complicated by an English Channel storm. On the third trip, he carried a coal load from Sydney to Shanghai. He got there on October 30, 1878, in Shanghai. Sydney Smith, his first friend, was a bully. John Francis, a third mate who was underqualified and uncooperative, was one crew member. Wallace was in this circumstance and stepped over the stern taffrail, drowning.
In 1803, Commodore Preble assigned Bainbridge command of the brand-new Philadelphia, a squadron of ships outfitted to take on Barbary corsairs. Bainbridge and the Philadelphia went ahead of the rest of the fleet on their inaugural expedition. HMS Java, the first of these ships, was a ship sailing towards the East Indies. It was transporting Bombay's recently elected lieutenant-governor.

DARREN WALKER, PRESIDENT OF THE FORD FOUNDATION, TO RECEIVE 2018 DIRECTOR’S AWARD
Caroline Baumann, director of Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, has announced the selection of Darren Walker, president of the Ford Foundation, as the Director’s Award recipient of the 2018 National Design Awards. Unlike the other National Design Awards, which are selected by an interdisciplinary jury of design leaders and educators, the Director’s Award is chosen by Baumann in recognition of outstanding support and patronage within the design community. The 2018 award recipients will be honored at a gala dinner and ceremony Thursday, Oct. 18, in the Arthur Ross Terrace and Garden at Cooper Hewitt.
“With a courageous vision for fighting social inequality, Darren has long been a champion of design as a democratizing force for good and a problem-solving catalyst for change,” Baumann said. “I am delighted to recognize Darren for his inspiring leadership and unwavering support of organizations across all spheres of influence who are working to build an inclusive and strong civil society around the world.”
As president of the Ford Foundation, Walker oversees an international social justice philanthropy with a $13 billion endowment and $600 million in annual grant making. For two decades, he has been a leader in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors. Walker led the philanthropy committee that helped bring a resolution to the city of Detroit’s historic bankruptcy (2013–2014), and chairs the U.S. Impact Investing Alliance. He co-chairs New York City’s Commission on City Art, Monuments, and Markers, and serves on the Commission on the Future of Riker’s Island Correctional Institution and the UN International Labour Organization’s Global Commission on the Future of Work. He also serves on the boards of Carnegie Hall, Friends of the High Line and the Committee to Protect Journalists, and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
Before joining Ford, Walker was vice president at the Rockefeller Foundation, overseeing global and domestic programs including the Rebuild New Orleans initiative after Hurricane Katrina. In the 1990s, as chief operating officer of the Abyssinian Development Corporation—Harlem’s largest community development organization—he oversaw a comprehensive revitalization strategy, including building over 1,000 units of affordable housing and the first major commercial development in Harlem since the 1960s.
“I am honored and humbled to accept the Director’s Award on behalf of the Ford Foundation,” Walker said. “Cooper Hewitt shows us that design is an incredibly powerful force in the world today. It is through smart, creative design that we can find unusual, inspiring ways to tackle some of the most urgent issues of our time, from health care to housing to the right to vote. From its groundbreaking ‘Design for the Other 90%’ exhibition series to its efforts to build a more accessible museum for people with disabilities, Cooper Hewitt is sparking a national dialogue about design innovation that is grounded in inclusivity and encouraging us to all to embrace design as a way to challenge inequality.”
Walker joins a distinguished group of previous Director’s Award winners, including Susan S. Szenasy, director of design innovation, former publisher and editor in chief of Metropolis (2017); Make It Right, a nonprofit organization, founded by Brad Pitt in 2007, that builds homes, buildings and communities for people in need (2016); and Jack Lenor Larsen, an internationally renowned textile designer, author and collector (2015).
National Design Awards programming is made possible by generous support from Target.
Additional funding provided by Design Within Reach, Facebook and Bloomberg Philanthropies.
National Design Award trophies are created by The Corning Museum of Glass. ndagallery.cooperhewitt.org is powered by Adobe. Media sponsorship is provided by Smithsonian Media.
ABOUT THE NATIONAL DESIGN AWARDS
Established in 2000 as a project of the White House Millennium Council, the National Design Awards are accompanied annually by National Design Week, which takes place this year Oct. 13–21. A variety of public education programs will be offered at the museum as well as across the country, including special events, panel discussions and workshops for students, teachers, corporate professionals, designers and Cooper Hewitt’s dedicated audience.
This year’s recipients of the juried National Design Awards are Gail Anderson, Lifetime Achievement; Anne Whiston Spirn, Design Mind; Design for America, Corporate & Institutional Achievement; WEISS/MANFREDI, Architecture Design; Civilization, Communication Design; Christina Kim, Fashion Design; Neri Oxman, Interaction Design; Oppenheim Architecture + Design, Interior Design; Mikyoung Kim Design, Landscape Architecture; and, Blu Dot, Product Design.
ABOUT COOPER HEWITT
Founded in 1897, Cooper Hewitt is the only museum in the United States devoted exclusively to historic and contemporary design. Housed in the renovated and restored Carnegie Mansion, Cooper Hewitt showcases one of the most diverse and comprehensive collections of design works in existence. The museum’s restoration, modernization and expansion have won numerous awards and honors, including a Lucy G. Moses Preservation Award from the New York Landmarks Conservancy, a Gold Pencil Award for Best in Responsive Environments and LEED Silver certification. Ongoing exhibitions “Access+Ability” (through Sep. 3) and “The Senses: Design Beyond Vision” (through Oct. 28) provide a major platform for the growing movement toward accessibility and inclusive design, and are an integral part of Cooper Hewitt’s major effort to broaden access. From wheelchair accessibility to sign-language interpretation to touch tours and braille signage, the museum offers a variety of services for visitors who are deaf or have limited mobility or vision loss. Morning at the Museum, a free Smithsonian program for visitors with cognitive and sensory processing disabilities, takes place on select Saturdays one hour prior to the museum opening. The American Alliance of Museums Media and Technology Professional Network honored Cooper Hewitt with a 2018 MUSE Award for the accessible label system developed for “The Senses.”

Quote
The mentally ill are far more likely to be the victims of violent crime rather than the perpetrators. Only 3-5% of violent crimes can be tied in some way to a person's mental illness, and people with mental illnesses are ten times more likely to be the victims of violence than the general public. At least a fifth of all prisoners in the United States have a mental illness of some kind, and between 25 and 40 percent of mentally ill people will be incarcerated at some point in their lives. More are sent to prison in part because fewer mental health facilities are available. The disappearance of psychiatric hospitals and asylums is part of the long-term trend toward “deinstitutionalization.” But jails and prisons have taken their place. Today, the largest mental health facilities in the United States are the Cook County Jail, the Los Angeles County Jail, and Rikers Island.
“America's Long-Suffering Mental Health System,” by Zeb Larsen
In this month’s Origins feature article, historian Zeb Larson traces how our response to the mentally ill has been shaped by a faith that such illness can be cured and a desire to deal with the mentally ill as cheaply as possible.

THE SHOWS:
Cherry Bomb Book, Music, and Lyrics by Marcus Scott
Cherry Bomb follows savvy teenage boy Franklin, who revolts against the education system once the arts programs are cut from his school curriculum. When Franklin’s fearless actions inadvertently domino into another student’s suicide, he spirals into sex, drugs and ruin. A rock musical that blends the Motown/Stax funk-soul sound with electroclash music, Cherry Bomb explores the current and timely topic of the decline of arts in schools, the age gap between teenagers and adults, rebellion, child abuse, grieving a loss, ethics in modern psychiatry and prescribing medication to juveniles—all of which affect Franklin and lead to his self-discovery.
Hart Island Book and Lyrics by Michelle Elliott Music by Danny Larsen
Hart Island has served as NYC’s public burial grounds for 150 years and is the final resting place for 1 million dead, including thousands of still born infants. Burials are carried out by inmates of Riker’s Island. “Hart Island” is an original musical that explores the lives of two people society has cast away — Charles, an incarcerated man and Marielena, a young, poor, pregnant, undocumented Hispanic woman. Their lives intersect when Marielena gives birth to a stillborn son, who Charles inters as part of his duties on the Hart Island burial crew. The two begin a correspondence and come to recognize the other’s dignity and humanity.
Like a Billion Likes Book by Erik Forrest Jackson Music by Brad Alexander Lyrics by Jill Abramovitz
Misty Riggs is a nobody. No, really, she is–that’s an undisputed fact, even by Misty herself. She’s not particularly brainy, she’s definitely not popular, and until now she hasn’t felt much drive to change that. But just as she’s starting her sophomore year at a new high school, she decides to try to stand out before it’s too late. Her idea is to champion gay rights. Never mind that she doesn’t have any real passion about it–if it’ll help turn her life around, she’s game. Her plan involves a handmade T-shirt adorned with pro-gay messages in puffy paint and glitter glue. But when the slogan tee lands her in the office of out-of-touch Principal Segars and in hot water at home, she escalates her game. To the chagrin of Alixandra, who’s her BFF (and pretty much only F), Misty aggressively works to cozy up to Jacey, the weird guy in the grade above them who wears skirts, in the hopes that her well-documented show of tolerance will put her on the map. But Misty’s maneuver only results in sparking an unexpected attraction between Alix and Jacey, an attraction that alarms Alix’s mom, Colleen, who’s the school guidance counselor. To Misty, losing Alix’s attention to Jacey is one blow too many, so she makes one final, desperate bid for glory–the terrible culmination of her burning desire to get recognized for something, for anything, no matter how she achieves it. ECHO Book, Music, and Lyrics by Anna K. Jacobs
Three Echoes seek to become something more than just a reflection in this three-woman song drama that weaves a reimagining of the Echo and Narcissus myth with a colorful theater-pop score.

(Psst: Scottie ain't mine, they're @jaytoons7 's! So is the whole knife fam concept!)
Time: 5 AM
Date: April 20th
Location: Kitchen...
Today was a big day, to Riker at least. His excitement was filling him more and more as he hopped out of bed and got dressed. Nothing too fancy, just a tee-shirt and a pair of joggers. He had small scars that littered both arms, but didn't care too much right now if others saw.
He slipped on a pair of socks and house shoes, before making his way out of the room, making sure to close to door quietly behind him as to not wake his roommate, Malli, up. Once it was closed, he sprinted off towards the kitchen, still being as quiet as he could be to keep others asleep.
He slowed down once he made it to the cafeteria: Empty. He walled over to the kitchen as well, glancing inside the door: Empty as well. This was perfect! He walked into the door, and began gathering the supplies he needed, as well as leaving a bit of cash on the counter, wrapped up in a paper towel, with 'For ~Firecracker' written on it. He then began cooking...
"Mister Orange?" Riker jumped a bit, as he was whisking a mix of things together, glancing back towards the door. Poking their head in was Buckethat, without their top hat on. He gave a small smile, motioning the smaller inside. "What's up, kiddo?"
"What are you doing?" Buckethat asked, walking into the kitchen and raising themself up enough to look inside the bowl that Riker was whisking at. "Is that pancake mix?"
"Mhmm. Pancake mix with lemon in it." Riker replied, setting the bowl down and lifting the whisk up to watch the mix. Too clumpy still. He got back to mixing. "I'm makin' it for one o' my own."
Buckethat pushed something closer to the counter, standing on it and looking at the mix, giving an 'ooo' at the sight. "Why?"
"It's a special a'ccasion for one of them."
"Why?"
"It's one o' their birthdays."
"Why?"
"Ask a different question, if you're really curious."
This got Buckethat thinking for a moment, looking to the mix and making grabby hands. "Can I mix it up?"
Riker glanced over and gave a smile, stopping his mixing and pushing the bowl over. "Be careful there. We want it to be nice and mixed up, but not too runny." With that, Buckethat began mixing the bowl, while Riker got the stove top ready with a pan and a bit of butter.
"Who's this for? Who's birthday is it?" There it is. Riker glanced over to see Buckethat's eyes really big with curiosity. He gave a chuckle in response, turning the eye on.
"It's Purple's birthday today. Lemon pancakes are his favorite."
"How do you know that?"
"Well, me and him grew up together. It's.. Been a while since we've act'ally seen each other."
"When's your birthday?"
"Tomorra."
"Wha?!"
Riker gave a chuckle at that statement, looking over to Buckethat and grabbing the mixed bowl, lifting the whisk out and seeing not clumps. "Thank you for mixing it for me."
"Yours is tomor-" "HEY!"
Riker had to quickly shove his hand to push Buckethat from getting dangerously close to the stove eye being on. His eyes were wide, looking to Buckethat with nothing but worry.
"I'm sorry, Mister-"
"Are you okay? You didn't touch the pan, did you?" Riker asked, setting the bowl down on the counter and grabbing Buckethat's hand, inspecting it and finding it spotless. This caused Riker to sigh in relief. "Let's be a bit more careful.. We don't need ya hurt. Your parents would be pissed, so would your sibling."
Riker tensed up when he heard a cough from behind him, giving a sigh and looking at the smiling, child Toppat. "At least one o' them are right behind me, hmm?" This caused the Toppat to giggle and nod. Riker then turned around to be faced with all three of them. Scottie, Slice, and Wilhelm.
"Hey, Slice. Wilhelm. Firecracker." Riker spoke, getting an eye roll from Scottie at that. "Sorry that I'm, uh.. In your kitchen, Firecracker, but I.. I'm making-"
"He's making breakfast for Purple! It's his birthday!" Buckethat shouted out, before Riker quickly moved to grab the napkin and holding it out.
"I'll pay for it, I know I'm-"
"Keep it."
"Huh?"
Scottie gave a chuckle and shook their head. "I said 'keep it'. I'm not taking it from you. And I refuse to take it from you." They said, approaching the other two with their arms crossed, leaning against the counter. "Is that all you're making?"
"Ma-mmm.. Purple.. Isn't a huge breakfast fan. Like, yeah, he'll eat if he has to, but he doesn't prefer it." Riker replied, pouring out some of the pancake batter into the pan.
"Where did your accent go?"
"What do you mean?"
"You had like.. Like.. One like Macbeth! But, a little faster, and more airy!" Buckethat spoke, watching Riker put the money back in his pocket, and Slice come up.
"Don't bother him too much, Buckethat." Slice chuckled, with Buckethat giving a huff at that.
"Don't worry, Mister Slice. Kid ain't botherin' me." Riker spoke, giving an accomplished smirk at the surprised gasp from Buckethat.
"See! See!!" Riker gave a chuckle at his exclamation, flipping the pancake over by tossing it in the air and catching it in the pan. "Okay, wait- What does 'Ain't' mean??"
"I ain't got a clue."
"Mister Orange!!"
"Shh, quiet down a little. Ain't wantin' to wake the others now, do ya?"
This got a frustrated groaned from Buckethat, and amused chuckles from the remaining four in the room. "There's no exact definition of 'ain't'. It means a lot of things. You gotta listen to the context of the sentence."
Riker then put the cook pancake on a plate, giving a hum in content. "What are you gonna do for your birthday then?"
"Hmm? Oh, nothing."
"What? Yours is tomorrow, and nothing?"
Riker leaned forward and flicked the stove top off, putting the dish pan and bowl in the sink, before taking the plate and fork. "Listen, just having Purple with me is a gift enough. It's been years since we've last seen each other, and I.. I like his company a lot." He then walked out, passing by Wilhelm and giving a short 'hi' as he did.
"... So, are those two dating, or..?" Wilhelm spoke, with Slice shrugging, Buckethat nodding, and Scottie shaking his head. Three different responses, wonderful.
~~~
Riker slipped into the room, finding Malli still asleep and smiling, before setting the plate down on the bedside table and climbing on the bed beside Malli. "Malcolm..~"
This got a groan from Malli, shifting onto his back. "Malcolm, baby..~"
"Hmm...?"
"Happy birthday."
Malli turned his head over to the side, looking at Riker and giving a small chuckle. "That's taday..?"
"Mhmm. April 20th. And yet, still don't smoke weed."
Malli rolled his eyes and lightly shoved Riker, who gave a giggle and hugged onto Malli, with the smaller male turning to him completely and nuzzling into his neck. Riker let a content hum leave him, rubbing his thumb against the shorter, shaved hair. Riker gave a small kiss to Malli's forehead, letting out a small sigh afterwards.
"I missed this a lot.." Malli spoke, nuzzling further into Riker's hold and hugging onto him tightly. "Like.. A lot a lot.."
"I did, too.. Hate spendin' birthdays without you.. Then I can't make a lemon pancake."
This got Malli to shoot upwards, his eyes wide and a smile breaking his face. "Lemon pancake??" Riker gave a laugh at that, sitting up and grabbing the plate, handing it over to Malli with one more kiss to his scalp. "Happy birthday, Malli.."
"Happy birthday, Riker.."
So, this was a good way to show a bit more of Riker and one of his quirks: Lifting people!
Yes, he knows it's a little odd, but it works. If someone's angry and about to snap? Yoink, you're going to another room to calm down.
He lifts Malli to get giggles and laughter, and Marc will use it on his more sleepy-bad days.
I will thank Scottie (@jaytoons7 's OC) for being an angry gremlin for this example. They have been nicknamed 'firecracker' by Riker and Malli.
Why do I say that last part? Well, here we go: Storytimeee! (Jay and Ulle also belong to @jaytoons7 )
~~~
Giving a growl, Scottie was sat in front of Jay and Ulle, their arms crossed in front of their chest.
"There we go. Little firecracker was about to pop off." Riker remarked, giving a pat to Scottie's shoulder, which made them growl and turned around, shoving a finger right into Riner's face.
"WHAT DID YOU JUST CALL ME?!?"
"A firecracker, man. Chill out, it's a compliment."
"A COMPLIMENT?!?"
"Yeah! Have you never seen a firecracker? They're fun and bold and explosive! I thought it describes you well!"
"YOU JUS-" Scottie paused their yelling, looking to Riker dead in the eyes to try and find any sort of lying.. "What are you pulling here, assassin?"
"Nothing being pulled. You're a firecracker, embrace it."
".... What do you think a firecracker is?"
Riker then shook his head. "Not the loud, popping one's, no. We used to break down lighters and we build it up in this.. Certain way, and then BAM-" He threw his hand down towards the ground, before spreading both of them out. "-It would explode out! Like a firework on the ground! Always sounded, and smelt like gunshots. We used to throw them on wood logs when a lighter ran out to start it up. Man, those always went up in flames!"
Scottie could only stare, hearing more and more of an American country accent come out of Riker as he described it. "You.. You called those 'firecrackers'..? And you think I'm.. I'm like one of those..?"
Riker could only nod. "Well, yeah. You're fun, creative, bold strokes, and explosive. If I called Joey that, it would be a joke on her height, but still complementary. They're more of a rigged bomb: sounds bad, but a pleasant surprise, still a bomb." Riker only shrugged with a smile. "Anyways, I need to get on. Peace out, firecracker!"
With Riker walking out, this left Jay, Ulle, and Scottie to stare at the empty doorway. "Well then.." Jay spoke to bust the silence after a few minutes.
Ulle glanced towards Scottie with her eyes wide when she realized that Scottie hadn't said anything either. "Scottie? Bud, you alright?"
Scottie still didn't say anything, only being pulled out by Jay shaking their shoulders. "Scottie, back to reality!"
Scottie's scowl came back, shoving Jay off of them. "Back off, Jay. I'm fine. Just.. A little shaken, alright?"
"Shaken? Why?" Ulle asked, with Scottie rolling their eyes.
"Don't worry about it! I'm fine, this whole things is fine- Everything. Is. Fine." Scottie said, looking up to Ulle and Jay, seeing both of them glance to each other and glaring down. "What?"
This caused the two of them to bolt out of the room, with Scottie just stood there and sighing. "This is gonna be a day.."

"C'monnn, why not?" Riker chuckled, looking to Malli's annoyed, yet nervous, glare.
"The last time I dyed my hair, BOTH of us had our asses handed to us." Malli said, turning his back to Matilda, who patiently waited while listening to their conversation.
"Yeah, and we were teenagers. We're grown adults now." Riker pointed out, which was a valid point.
"Okay. Give me THREE reasons why I should, and I'll go for it."
"Matilda, do you cut hair as well?" Riker asked, the two male's attention now on the Australian.
"Indeed I do."
"Perfect. One, you can get your undershaved cut, as well as the dead ends trimmed. Two, it's hair, and anything that happens CAN grow back. Your hair already grows fast as it is."
"And point three?"
"The frosted tips would bring out your eyes."
With Malli thinking for a moment, he gave a sigh. Not one of defeat, one of not wanting to ADMIT that it sounded nice. "Okay, okay, fine. I'll take you on your deal." Malli spoke, turning around to Matilda, before giving a gasp and squeal at being lifted by the taller woman.
"Wonderful! I'll return him soon, lovely." She spoke to Riker, before walking off with Malli in a still-shocked state.

*throws more blankets at you while also sending hugs* Okay, let's see...screw it, crossover. Your characters playing Among Us, what are they like? Doesn't have to be in depth or anything
*takes blanket (and your hugs) in a tight wrap*
"Doesn't have to be in depth", you know who you're talking to, right? If it gets too long, I'll put it under a cut. It'll be both Imposter and Crewmate (I'm basic, shhh), and which one they prefer playing as. Edit: It got too long with Ezhno alone. It's under the cut.
Ezhno Nies ArcCoil
Ezhno doesn't play many mobile games that aren't one handed, so he wouldn't have a lot of experience playing. On a computer, it's a little different, but generally still the same rules applies. He actually prefers playing imposter, since it's less buttons to focus on, and he's surprisingly good at it. He's silent in chatting and allows others to give alibis. Unless it's voice chat, then he actually talks. On crewmate, he's DEFINITELY the last one to get his tasks done, even in ghost form. It's just difficult for him to move fast.
Keegan Moore
Keegan isn't a fan of Among Us, since he just hates lying. If he does play, he prefers crewmate, as he likes to focus on tasks. He is the type of person to ignore dead bodies right beside him and get accused of being imposter and getting voted out. Generally pretry quiet in chat, since he's not good at communicating, same thing with voice chat. If he does get imposter, there's a 50/50 shot of him leaving the game and entering a new lobby. Only time he doesn't is with friends, but you can TELL he's imposter, since he votes himself to leave.
Malli Till
Oh, lord, do NOT give this boy imposter. He likes playing Among Us, and tries to play both sides of it, but he likes being crewmate and sneaking around. Being the imposter is anxiety inducing to him, especially if his partner leaves the game, or it's a single-imposter game. He's more chatty in game than he is in real life, both voice and messages.
Riker Larsen
He'll try to play casually, but ends up getting WAY competitive. He's the type of guy to throw his phone on the bed and scream in anguish like his first born just got killed in front of him at a loss of a very good game. And the go about his day like nothing happened. He likes both roles and takes them both seriously. He's also the guy to start with the questions 'who and where' to the person who found the body.
Joey Garcia
They're the type of person to just do what they're told by the game, silently do it, but throw in false information to cause. chaos. Like, people learn to take her information like a penny in a pocket to a rich man. They just love it. There are some points where they take it seriously, but mostly, just being chaos.
Kyro Davis
Uh.. Kyro doesn't actually know WHAT Among Us is. They've owned a pager or Nokia for most of their life. They have no clue what mobile games actually are. If they did play, they'd just be very confused of what the fuck is happening.
Marc Åström
He doesn't actually have mobile games on his phone, the only game he has is Minesweeper, and a few games that Gremlin has downloaded. He mostly uses his phone for communication, and prefers playing arcade games like pinball, Fix-it Felix, or Pac-Man. He also likes the coin pushers, oddly. But, yeah. Has never touched a console, computer, or mobile game that wasn't a basic.
Damen Michaels
Fucking LOVES playing imposter. Right out the bat. Being able to act sneaky and corner someone to kill them, using doors and lights to his advantage. This boy has developed strategy from playing as imposter so much. Honestly? 9 times out of 10, he's the type of person to make Riker rage, because he's just good at it. He's also good at being crewmate and guessing who the imposter is, but he loves being imposter himself.

Random facts about The Assassi's that don't have any story benefit, but won't leave my mind:
-Marc eats pudding and yogurt without a spoon.
-Joey struggles with her hair on bad days, but HATES when it's any shorter than the length it is now
-Kyro took classes on piano, but consciously cannot play it. It's muscle memory to play a few songs (including, but not limited to, Clair de Lune, Für Elise, and Beethoven Virus)
-Malli and Riker were both in choir, band, and marching band. Riker played clarinet and Malli played the drums.

And here we go! A restless first night for The Assassi's, featuring them in a kitchen.
Scottie Anderson belongs to @jaytoons7
~~
With the day winding down to an end the excitement of meeting new people and being set on a long, strenuous mission with a lot of research needed, it was.. Well, a lot.
Riker sat at one end of the table, his body reaching a certain amount of exhaustion that left him unable to sleep, even if he wanted to. And yes, he wanted to, and tried to at least get a nap in at the table.
This dream wasn't lived, with high alert for everything, he just wanted to make sure the other Assassi's were okay. He felt the table shift slightly, glancing up to see it was Kyro sitting across from him. Giving a smile, he rested his head back down. One or four.
Malli and Joey were the next two, Riker spotting them with someone else. About the same height as him, chirping and smiling. He diverged off quickly from Malli and Joey to sit with Ezhno, Violin, and Accordion. Hmm, they probably all knew each other.
Joey and Malli sat across from each other, with Malli sitting by Riker, and Joey sitting by Kyro. Of course, the shortest of them all leaned against their partner, moving her cape to lay on Kyro's lap, as they were shivering.
Malli rested his hand in Riker's back in an assuring way, resting on the table as well to meet Riker eye to eye. They were both exhausted, bags showing more under Malli's eyes than Riker's, but with how slow Riker was breathing, it's a miracle the leader's body hasn't called it quits. Three out of four.
The distinct sound of metal crutches caught Joey's attention, glancing to see that it was Gremlin and Marc coming in. Of course, Marc lingered by to make sure Gremlin didn't hurt herself, before coming to the other's and sitting on the otherside of Malli, purposely setting his upperbody weight on Malli, which did get a groan. But, the pop that Marc felt underneath his elbow, told him that it was a good groan for his back.
Four of four. "Mm, okay.." Riker started, sitting up to make sure he got the other four's attention. "I talked with Reginald a bit, he IS allowing us to stay in the station itself. He'll let us go down tomorrow to get any supplies we need, including weapons and clothing. He does have extra clothes we can use for tonight."
With a unanimous nod, Riker continued: "However, there arises a problem.. He's only allowing us one room, two if we absolutely need it, and I'm not sure how comfortable you guys are with this group yet.." Joey gave a quiet hum at that, allowing her mind to think.
"Well, if we're allowed two rooms, wouldn't it be fair to use those two rooms? I mean, say it's two beds a room: me and Green can sleep together in one bed, and someone else could sleep on the other, and then the other room has two more beds for the last remaining two." She spoke, with Marc giving a nod.
"Orange, since you're more comfortable with Purple, maybe you two could take that empty room and I can sleep with Green and Raspberry?" Marc offered, with Riker nodding. "We'll take a look at one room, alright? If it's not big enough, we'll do Raspberry's idea."
A plan was in motion...
~~~
...or would have been.
Late that night was nothing but restless for The Assassi's. Riker suffering from insomnia made it damn near difficult to get comfortable to fall asleep, and while he was shuffling around to tire himself, Malli woke up from a particularly bad nightmare, not wanting to leave Riker's side.
In the neighboring room, Marc also laid awake, staring at the ceiling. Joey's restless tossing and turning from stress kept Kyro awake, all attempts to soothe all of them proving useless.
Joey was the first to get up, swiftly moving from the dead and empty halls to the large kitchen, using a nearby step stool to get the ingredients she needed, as well as the utensils. Yes, she was moving as quickly and as quietly as she could, not wanting to leave Kyro for too long.
Next two to enter the kitchen were Riker and Malli, Riker pulling up a chair to sit down, while Malli sat on the floor and rested on Riker's leg, his bandana on rather than his mask. Riker used his hand to pet Malli's hair, using his nails to light scrape his scalp, all in the efforts to soothe him silently.
Kyro was the third to enter, pulling up a chair and sitting down in it. They had a blanket tightly wrapped around them, shivering at how cold it felt around them. Yes, it was at least 72 degrees Fahrenheit, but it still felt cold to Kyro.
By the time Marc entered, Joey had pushed something into the oven and set a timer, before moving to sit down in Kyro lap, allowing the blanket to be wrapped around them to trap the warmth. Marc pulled up a chair beside them, resting on Kyro's shoulder as well to try and help in warming up. He was the only one to still wear their cape and hood, moving it to hug himself.
And there, they sat. Silent with each other, comfortable. The sweet smell of cooking dough filled the room, easing them into a better state of relaxation. The sound of shoes on metal did alert them that they were the only ones awake, but frankly, none of them had a chance to care about it.
They heard the 'chink' of a knife being pulled out of a sheath, but only turned to look when the kitchen lights got cut on. Marc hid his face and eyes in Kyro's shoulder, the light hurting him.
"What in the Hell are you doing in my kitchen?" The voice said, clearly wearing a chef's uniform, and pissed. Oh, utterly pissed.
"Sorry about that," Joey started, her accent coming out more than they realized, "none of us could really sleep.. I bake bagels on those nights. We'll be out of kitchen when it finishes, I am really sorry."
"Yeah, sorry won't cut it. Whatever ingredients got used, I want payment for. As well as-" The chef got cut off, seeing the 4'11 demi-female walk up to them, handing over the money.
"Probably more than enough, plus the dishes got washed. Even if you didn't come in demanding it, it would have been left, along with some of the bagel." Joey spoke, going over to the oven and opening the door, before they grabbed out the pan (with a potholder), shut the timer off, and picked up one of the bagels. The chef was going to say something, but closed their mouth upon seeing Joey knock on the bottom of the bagel, giving a satisfied smile to herself.
"Bagel's are ready, boys." Joey said, stepping backwards to allow the other three to get their own, each of them using a paper towel to grab and hold their bagel. Joey then turned around to the still-stunned chef. "There's an extra one, if you want." They said.
The chef looked to Joey, putting the knife away and the money while staring suspiciously. They watched the other's, seeing that they were eating at it eagerly, all except for Malli. They gave one glance to Joey, seeing that even they were eating the bagel, before giving a sigh and going against their better judgement. They moved over to the tray, grabbing out the final bagel and giving it the knock-test themselves. Passed, perfectly.
Joey watched the chef crack open the bagel, seemingly inspecting it to make sure of everything. This wasn't anything new to Joey, but still eagerly watched as the chef took a bite, watching their face contort to initial disgust at a food that wasn't his own cooking. But, it changed, more and more to a relaxed expression. Dare even say, impressed? Very slight, but Joey knew her bagels weren't for everyone.
".. You have my respect." This caught Joey's attention real fast, looking to the chef and watching them take another bite, much larger than the first, but still being modest about eating. "It's a little.. Sweeter than I was expecting, but not a bad thing.." It was almost as if they were looking for a reason to hate it, given it wasn't their own cooking.
Joey did find herself accomplished, holding back a smirk even if it showed in her eyes. The chef looked her dead in the eyes, walking over to Joey and holding his hand out that didn't hold the bagel. "Chef Scottie. I hope this isn't a nightly occurrence."
"Oh, no, chef, it isn't. This is a new place, some of us are so exhausted we can't fall asleep, some of us got woken up- It's just a cluster fuck tonight." Joey explained, with Scottie nodding slowly in a distantly understanding way.
"Anyways, we'll be out of your hair, alright? Don't worry about cleaning the tray, I got it." Joey said, with Scottie watching her move from Kyro's lap to work on cleaning the dish, which didn't take long, since it was nearly spotless coming out of the oven. They stood by the oven itself, watching The Assassi's file out of the kitchen, setting the chairs and other things where they were found and missing at. They stood in the kitchen for a long moment, before looking to the bagel and taking another bite out of it.
'Need to ask for that recipe..' Scottie thought to themself, walking to the exit and flicking the light off, before heading back to their room, half a bagel still in their hand.
As they entered, they saw their little sibling, Buckethat, sitting on their bed. With a frustrated sigh, Scottie shook their head and crossed their arms. "What are you doing in here?"
"Couldn't sleep." Buckethat spoke, their legs kicking up and down, before looking to Scottie and gasping. "Are you gonna eat the rest of it?" They asked, pointing to Scottie's bagel. While the older didn't want to give it up, they also didn't want Buckethat to stay awake. They did feel a little sleepier after eating it..
With a dramatic sigh, Scottie handed the bagel over. "Here." Buckethat gave a quiet squeal in excitement, grabbing the bagel and eagerly eating it. Scottie simply shook their head, taking off their chefs jacket and hanging it up on the coat rack.
"Wow, this is really good!" Buckethat said, with Scottie shaking their head. "Don't talk with your mouth full."
After a little bit, the bagel was completely gone, but it was.. Odd. Scottie felt sleepier with each passing minute, Buckethat's eyes were barely able to stay open now. Scottie moved Buckethat to lay down in their bed, before laying down in their own, flicking the lamp off beside them and falling asleep within minutes.
Yeah, Scottie's going to get the recipe.
