You notice something on Ghost's mask while walking. Or rather you wanted an excuse to be near him.

"Hold up!"

You extend your arm before Ghost, stopping him on his trail with your puny figure. Or rather puny against the giant brick house that had been Simon Riley himself. Whether he had been two inches taller than you or two feet, you never let that keep you from his side, and he couldn't be more grateful for it.

Still, the man damn near stumbles into your arm when you've stopped him. How you managed to hold your ground with him having nearly toppled you over would continue to impress him.

You needn't bother with such dramatically silly gestures to halt him where he stands; one long look your way proved enough to barely leave him with a breath to spare, with all the air around him always so wrapped tightly in your meaningful gaze.

"Wha' is it?" he asks you curiously. "Did you forget something?"

"No, it's just-"

You look upon him inquisitively, brows furrowing with a playful pout on your lips. Your eyes bounce up and down over his masked face, a normal occurrence, though it's only when you do it that Ghost ever feels shy behind it. As though no amount of fabrics or masks he obscured himself in could hide from you, which may as well be true.

Every day he spends with you, he finds himself more at peace with the monotony of his life. With you so near and ready to accept him for who he'd grown to be, even something as mundane as walking to the coffee shop for tea early in the morning felt more heavenly than any promised afterlife.

As Ghost slips his hands back into his coat pockets, with his broad shoulders slouched ever so slightly to meet your eyes, he can't help but smile, curious as to what idle thoughts ran through you.

"Don't think too hard now," he teases. "Y'might hurt yourself, love."

"Oh, be quiet you."

You gently laugh, your shoulders bouncing as animatedly as your eyes. "There's just something-"

You reach over and let your hands gently pull at the edges of his mask against his chin, inviting yourself into his space and leaning forward. Had you been anyone else, had he not flinched at the sudden movement, then he certainly would have disallowed such an action and stepped back.

Too many abuses of his boundaries have made that road a gated and lonely route to traverse. One you've walked merrily on with little guidance beyond your own admirable patience and kindness.

Who knows what you may have seen on his mask if anything at all. Ghost would never cast aside a moment to be so near so gently. Your thumb rub softly at the corners of the fabric, wiping whatever smudge had been there.

It's these smallest of actions you make that put him most at ease. How sweetly you hold him to you, hands gently caressing over his cheeks to groom him as though he were your own kin.

His mother would do the same when he was younger. He couldn't step ten feet out the door without her stopping him to retuck his shirt back in or help him rub the sleep from his eyes. Anything for her eldest to be the best he could be.

She only ever wanted the best for him, and through each touch and shared glance he has with you, he knows that you share that sentiment. The amount of time it's been since someone else has truly filled that void felt cruel beyond measure with you in his life now, so readily and with ease.

In many ways, you reminded him of her, with all her best qualities shining through the smallest comforts and care you shared for him.

Ghost remains still. In front of you on the sidewalk, a silent huff leaves him, and the cold autumn air begins to settle with the evening sun taking with it its warmth. It makes the hues of browns in his eyes shine like bark and moss, the blonds of his eyelashes twinkling against the light at certain angles like small sparkles.

It makes you pause every so often, always taking careful note of each detail of him, in which the most delicate parts of himself had been gifted to you.

He only does the same, catching the faint twinge of your lip, or how your ears move at every small expression you make. If you'd let him -- which you have on your deepest of nights -- Simon could gaze upon you until you'd imprinted yourself into his mind like a waking dream. Anything to take with him what he could not hold with you away.

Days such as this have been all he's needed on his worst assignments to soldier on. Your presence had brought him that much peace of mind.

Your hands wipe, pull, and adjust his mask with light intention, Ghost never once fearing that your hands would overstep and attempt to unmask him outside. You knew as well as he -- the softness he felt beneath his mask was a sight he wanted for your eyes only.

After some more seconds pass, you stop adjusting his mask, though your hands remain cradling his cheeks in your palms. Your eyes haven't left him for just as long, your lips only a short reach forward.

Knowing he'd be unable to kiss you, Ghost instead lets himself lean in, until his forehead adorably presses against yours, resting there with a soft exhale of the nose.

You sigh happily, letting your hands rest against your neck and your heart flutter joyously.

"I love you," you say.

You said so a lot, and at times you feared you might cheapen its value, even as you meant it each time. But Ghost could never tire of your words. If you said it a thousand more times, he'd only say so to you a thousand more back. For all the times in his life he's never had someone beside him to say it to, when he wished to most of all.

"I love you too," he says.

Somehow his voice always sounded a bit more brittle when the words leave him. Like if he said them any louder, he might just lose himself completely. But just as somehow the same, he bounces back. "Did you find what you were looking for?"

You nod. "I did." And then you lean forward and plant a gentle kiss on his nose. The softest thing imaginable; it could turn even the coldest of men into the most fragile of creatures.

What it was you saw, both on and in him, he needn't know or understand. He wouldn't ask, and he wouldn't worry. Simon would just... be.

But forever the playful tease you aimlessly had been, you twirl away back down the sidewalk, continuing your morning journey.

"Now for some tea!" You cheer.

Ghost chuckles lightly, and then slowly follows along. Some tea would be nice right about now.

Aries Sun: Many people are "surprised" that Anton is an aries since the stereotype is that they're hyper and aggressive but aries men can be pretty shy + to themselves initially and don't expose their extroverted behavior till they're comfortable. Aries is cardinal, they enjoy starting things and once they master it will move on to the next task (Anton went from swimming to instruments, to producing, to being an idol what bigger example do you need 😭) before the relationship actually starts he'd try to approach but wouldn't just straight up flirt he'd want to begin a friendship or some form of banter/rapport with you. Since there's no water supporting his sun in his big six it shows he wouldn't be a super sappy "my heart bleeds for you" type of boyfriend but would still be passionate and serious when it comes to you as his partner. If you had a rocky past he'd try to have you focus on the "now" of everything and help you not loath. Has his random moments of boldness but they go as fast as they came LMAOO so savor them when you can.

Aries Moon: Many people view Anton as very timid and though he is on a surface level he is most definitely capable of boldness and quickly acting on his wants, yes he is a contained individual but when he wants something he'll shamelessly go after it. So yes ! he is 100% capable of initiating things whether its physical affection or if he wants to see you. If he wants you he wants you, plus, in a video he claimed that if it was just him and the person of his affection one on one he'd express himself more freely. Which makes me think if it were you two one on one he'd be super real about his feelings and his guard wouldn't be as far up.

Aries Mercury: Yes. the headcanons that anton would spam your phone with tiktoks and memes are true. He wouldn't be afraid of hitting you up frequently and seeming "needy" like he loves you duh ofc he's gonna text you literally at any given opportunity. Would probably have your post notifs on and would be the FIRSTTT person to like your post and story. He'd be very honest and straightforward when communicating so you wouldn't have to worry about reading in between the lines or having to guess about what's going on between you two.

Taurus Venus: He could have short lived phases of being possessive and literally viewing you as "his person". He wouldn't want the relationship to continuously rush into new bases he'd want it to have a natural flow and wouldn't rush you into anything but would still want to know where you stood on certain things and be in the know (his aries stellium influence, he welcomes change and newness but, as said before, wants it to come naturally and at a certain pace). He'd be sure to be someone you could rely and depend on and would be as patient as possible with you. Andrew Graves Updates

This isn't really an update for Star Patient, it's more so an update for my Andrew Graves masterlist.

I'm currently working on TWO short fluffy fics for Andrew Graves, because honestly we need more fluff in the TCOAAL and Andrew simp community. Sex is cool and all, but wholesome romance is better (in my opinion).

As my nana always said, "If you want change in the world, be that change". I don't think she meant for me to make fluffy fics out of a fictional murder boy who isn't innocent or 100% a victim by ANY means, but one can only dream of turning a toxic boy into a domesticated and sappy boyfriend.

Even better news y'all, I have a whole outline for chapter 7 of Star Patient (I don't mean first draft, I mean like all my ideas and plot lines and major events all stringed together). I'm really on top of my game y'all, this is a miracle for me to be so active in my writing.

EVEN BETTER NEWS Y'ALL. I also have THREE different ideas that will be turned into SERIES, all of them Andrew Graves! I'll do a post explaining the series' ideas if anyone bothers asking about them in my inbox, but if not, then it's something y'all will just have to wait and find out about.

To be honest, this blog is probably gonna revolve around Andrew, but we can never forget Yuri either (who will one day return when Spy x Family mangas drop good content of Yuri/manga finally ends so I can write an ending for An Alliance).

Oh, and EVEN BETTER NEWS. I learned how to add pictures to AO3! This is probably useless telling people on Tumblr, but I wanted to know how to add pictures so that I could show Gemmist's fan art for Star Patient on there! Thank you to Pompomkitty16 on AO3 for bringing to my attention that RayRayWrites on Tumblr has a tutorial for this! (We credit my fellow creators up in this blog).

This was genuinely my reaction learning about rich text thanks to RayRayWrites. I'll be honest, I thought rich text meant like coding or binary code, I didn't even bother clicking it until I saw Ray's tutorial, I EVEN LEARNED HOW TO LINK STUFF ON AO3 TOO! I CAN HAVE ITALICS ON AO3 NOW! Technology is so crazy. I feel old learning all this new and cool stuff. People on the internet are so cool and nice when they're supporting each other and growing as a healthy and wholesome community.

So yeah, that's all the updates for now. Hopefully those two fics will be out soon, then I'll get back to working on Star Patient chapter 7. this is a bit of a broad question. But how do you (personally) view the rhinealice/Rhine/whatever family dynamic (with like, rhine, alice, klee, albedo, and whoever else you consider apart of it) ?? Mm it's a tricky question. The way I see it is that I consider all Rhine's sentient creations part of the fam- so long as they have a way of communicating.

Rhine and Alice are married. Alice and her husband are also married. Rhine and Alice's husband are friends who serve as mediators and a bit of a leash for Alice sometimes.

The kids are a whole other story. Albedo and Nigredo pass themselves off as twins, and honestly? They argue like twins as well, all sarcasm and wit. Luckily they don't fight much and they're fairly comfortable around each other. Klee is the one person on this earth they'd both die for and it shows. It's probably the only opinion they agree on.

Durin occasionally manifests as a ghost but he's confined to Dragonspine. He's still extremely sappy and a little bit nosy, though.

Elynas is the brother who lives halfway across the world and only sees the rest of his family like once a year. Although whenever Alice and her husband are adventuring in Fontaine they'll say hi. He knows exactly when they show up and he's always happy to see him. The Melusines were surprised to find out Elynas considers Alice and her husband family, but they now know they have family members in Mondstadt :) Klee loves the Melusines a lot.

The Rifthounds are pretty much domestic dogs to the entire family. Everyone outside is confused why they listen to Rhine and her sons.

4. Someone (perhaps a friend or family member) said something hurtful to you. How do your F/Os handle it? Do any of them confront the person? Do they argue with each other about how to deal with the situation? How do they comfort you?

Charlie would try to get me away from the situation as soon as possible, offering to walk me home and just have us spend some time together, maybe order takeout and watch one of my favorite movies together. He'd focus on comforting me before anything else, but once I'm asleep or we're away from each other, he'd make sure karma worked it's wonders until the person apologized.

JD would need a lot of restraint to keep his composure, depending on who made the comment in the first place. If it was someone I spoke highly about he'd make snarky comments about how they're "not all that" and get me to go spend some alone time with him instead. If it was someone he was jealous of, he wouldn't think twice before just swinging at them and only getting away from them after I dragged him off them.

Jacob knows it's important to know your enemies better than you know your friends, so he makes sure to keep records on anything that could ruin people's lives, especially those that he considers as competition. One rude comment would be all it'd take for him to pull out his phone and show an extremely compromising video of them and tell them to keep their mouth shut so they wouldn't make their life more miserable than it already is.

Overall the general agreement between them is that whoever made me upset has to go, but how they'd get to it is an entirely different story. An "accident"? Maybe a sudden "suicide"? Or maybe just getting them out of town for one reason or another? Endless options for them to discuss!

7. It’s time for gift giving! Whether it’s a holiday or a birthday or another occasion, how does gift giving go with your F/Os? Do any of them try to one-up each other? Do they coordinate to make sure no one gives the same thing?

All of them would end up trying to one up each other in their own way, to the point where I'd end up having a full day of pampering...

Charlie would take me out to the café where we first met and talk about everything that he loves about me and our relationship, then he'd take me somewhere scenic so I could admire the horizon while he just watches me, eyes full of love and all.

JD would get us a bunch of snacks then have us have a nighttime picnic somewhere away from everyone else, like an abandoned house or a forest. It's easier for him to let his guard down when we're alone, so he'd end up being all sappy and sweet throughout the night!

Jacob would make things casual and domestic, he'd ask me to help him bake my favorite treats while chatting about whatever it is we're celebrating, basking in the joy of getting to be by each other's side like this. Then we'd spend the rest of our date just holding each other and talking about anything that crosses our minds!

8. A stranger just flirted with you, in front of your F/Os! How do they react? Do some become upset or protective? Are some chill about it? Do they argue with each other over the proper response to it?

None of them would react positively, on the contrary!

Charlie would try to keep himself in line and just try to get us out of the situation as soon as possible. As soon as we're away from that person, he'd give me a tight hug, trembling and tearing up a bit. Once he lets go he'd need a lot of reassurance and praise, to be reminded that I do still love him and that I don't feel anything towards whoever was just flirting with me.

JD would honestly just be an asshole about it and either make out with me in front of them or cuss them out until they got upset enough to leave or to start arguing with him. He'd just enjoy knowing that he has something that no one else can have, while at the same time being extra protective and possessive over me.

Jacob would give them a death glare and tell them to back off, pointing out how uncomfortable I was with their advances. After they left, he'd make sure I was alright and let me know that if I ever need to get rid of anyone, he's more than happy to keep me safe.

So number one is extremely unsurprisingly going to be 616. They're the ogs and absolutely no one does it like them. The slow burn, the extremely unresolved homoeroticism, and the angst (the ANGST!!!!!),, all of that is just unparalleled. None can compete with that much lore and all those moments of them just saying sappy gay shit like "you gave me a home" or "i'm not half as good at anything as i am when i'm doing it next to you", or absolutely heart-wrenching things like "it wasn't worth it" or "he loved you, and he admired you, even when you fought"

After some deliberation with my own self I have decided that 1610 (Marvel Ultimates) is my second favourite. I just love the dynamic A LOT. Imagine you're this repressed homosexual man who was transported a billion years into the future and you fall in love with the most obnoxious man ever and then you find out he's dying. The struggle of reconciling with your own self and then trying to pursue something with someone who might as well be dead. There are just so many possibilities

MCU is going to be a respectable third. I have a lot of fondness for it because it is what introduced me to stevetony (when I first saw the helicarrier scene all I remember was thinking "these guys have sexual tension and I want to be there when they resolve it"). One complaint I have is the initial hostility that they had, because I think A LOT of people got hung up on that lmao. I don't really watch marvel movies anymore, not even old ones bc they just make me sad :-(. Still, they have some absolutely incredible moments like "i'm home" or "do you trust me" "i do" and "i thought you and Tony were still gazing into each other's eyes (thanks natasha)"

Marvel's avengers 2020 (the video game!!). God. I did not play it myself but I have seen Stevetony scenes and they are so SICK. Tony being so fucking DEVASTATED at Steve's death is really entertaining and makes me very happy. He should continue being sad hehe >:-))

2. If someone tells you two that you make a cute couple, how do you both respond?

Depends on where we’re at in the relationship, honestly. If we aren’t dating yet, then he gets super embarrassed and yells about it. “W-We’re not--! Shut the fuck up, it ain’t like that!!” But you can absolutely see on his face that he’s really red and flustered.

If we just started dating, he’s a little more confident about it, but still very easily embarrassed. He’s a tough biker guy, he can’t be perceived as “cute” or “soft”! But he also doesn’t want to deny his feelings for me either. So he usually just ends up blushing and saying something like “Yeah? And what about it?!” with a flustered glare.

After a while of being together though, he chills out a lot more and just scratches the back of his head and is like “Uh, yeah, I got... real lucky. She’s cute. Super fuckin’ cute.” Course, he’s still blushing a ton though ahaha.

3. Who is more likely to take care of the household chores? Who’s more likely to cook for the other?

Ahhhhh it’s 50/50. We split up the chores and jobs that we don’t want to do, but we both make an effort to get everything done. I don’t mind doing the laundry and sweeping up, while he usually offers to take out the trash and do the dishes. We sometimes go grocery shopping together, but I do end up having to go alone if he’s at work, so we keep up a list of the things that we need.

Neither of us are really good cooks, honestly. So our regular meals aren’t usually all that healthy. But he at least makes sure I’m eating something, since I often forget during the day. He does try to learn though, so we both attempt to make a meal together every now and then. It’s fun to try out new recipes together, even if they don’t really go the way we want lolol.

12. And finally, do you have any kids? If so, what is your f/o’s relationship with them?

HHH you’re really doin this to me, huh

-sighs- Yes. We have a child. But he’s a future child, so technically he doesn’t exist yet. But we will be having a son 👉👈

He doesn’t have a name yet, but basically, he’d be such a mini Mondo. Oh my gosh, he’s such an outoorsy and energetic kid who loves riding his bike (an actual bike, not a motorcycle lol) and running around playing outside. He’d really look up to Mondo a lot and want to always copy the stuff that he’s doing, so he helps him out with his carpentry work sometimes and also always begs Mondo to take him on motorcycle rides with him. But, Mondo knows he’ll get in trouble with me if he starts our son off with that stuff too young, so he usually says no. But every now and then, he’ll sneak a couple riding lessons in behind my back 🙄😂

While he definitely would take after Mondo more, both in appearance and also in personality, but that isn’t to say that he doesn’t love me or want to bond with me too. Mondo especially makes sure that our son spends time with me because he didn’t have much of a relationship with his own mother and wants to make sure that I get to spend time with my little boy too. He’d probably take an interest in my art, thinking that my characters are super cool and coming up with superhero and comic protag ideas for me to draw. He’s a really imaginative kid and has a lot of cool ideas that he just lights up when he sees them come to life on paper. It’s very heartwarming.

Basically I love my (future) little boy so much.

-emotionally closed off so it takes her a very long time to even consider marriage. 

-There's also the fact that she's probably stringing along several important men for economic impact with how her character stories talk about her having suitors. So with that she'll probably want to be private about stuff.

-Damn she goes above and beyond though once she does feel secure enough to want to be that committed with someone.

-she's the type to straight up ask if her partner is interested in marriage before planning anything.

-I think that she'll take them up to the Jade chamber (it's still in existence here) and have a perfect dinner together at sunset. They're completely alone together with the warm tones of the fading evening light with the view of Liyue out the window

-she's uncharacteristically nervous which makes her a bit unreadably stoic, which is strange for being completely alone like this.

-after her partner says yes they'll end up stargazing later in the night talking about plans and just enjoying each other's company.

-emotionally closed off: part 2! This time it's because she literally goes and hides when she is scared of losing people.

-Honestly I don't think she'd propose to anyone, ESPECIALLY anyone who's not immortal. 

-You're basically just married without it ever happening. Just absolutely domestic and sweet enough in each other's presence that people all assume you're married.

-If you on the other hand propose though, it would end up actually happening. She just can't initiate that conversation to save her life.

-emotionally closed off: part 3! She's been hated instantly by almost everyone her entire life and it's left her anxious that no one will ever love her and that if someone does, she'll be incredibly untrusting about it being genuine for quite a while.

-how she proposes completely depends on what kind of stuff her partner likes.

General Yan!Sheriff Headcanons

(TW: Yandere, Obsessive Behavior, Stalking, Violence)

Most yanderes tend to keep their feelings for you kind of lowkey. Sheriff is the direct opposite. How could you know the full depth of his love if he hid it from you?

You’ll just be minding your own business and he’ll ride up on his horse with a guitar and proceed to just serenade you. In front of everyone. It’s very heartfelt, he clearly wrote the song himself and he has a pretty good voice to be honest. It’s just kind of embarrassing to have him interrupt your shift with it.

You become friends with some of his underlings because he makes them check on (stalk) you when he can’t. They were kind of uncomfortable with just sitting in the bushes and recording everything you do, so they’ll be upfront with you about it.

(They’ll still record you even if you’re against it though. They don’t want a bullet in the head for coming up empty-handed.)

Honestly, they’re on the verge of begging Phobos or whoever the Sheriff is working for to just let him have time off to see you. This is because whenever he’s away from you for longer than two minutes, he just has the urge to gush about you to whoever is in close proximity. He loves you so much, and he wants everyone else to know how wonderful you are. It wouldn't be good if his boys didn't know about his future spouse, would it?

(It’s at the point where his men know more about you than your actual friends do, it’s weird.)

His underlings can’t say anything about you directly though, especially if they're acquainted with you. All information should be given through standard field reports, and there should be no mention of how they've interacted with you.

They know how bad his jealousy can get. Having to bury a body for a small comment about your eyes was enough to make it clear.

It's also a big rule not to mention the Sheriff's own exploits when it comes to "gathering" information on you. He can be charming, sure, but he tended to abandon this part of his persona when the people he interrogated about you put up the slightest resistance.

(He has abused his authority to stop your boss from telling you where he got that black eye and broken collar bone, but it didn't really matter what they thought of him anyway. As long as you knew how good of a partner he'd be, it didn't matter how he appeared to your coworkers. Besides, it's not like you'll every talk to them once you're finally together.)

He’s the type of person to listen to really lovey-dovey music and think of you the whole time (i.e. “Let’s ride into the sunset together”). All the while, he’ll have this lovesick smile on his face, just fantasizing about being with you and all the domestic stuff you're going to do together. Of course, he gets kind of angry/embarrassed when someone finds him like this (he has a reputation to uphold, after all), but he’ll immediately break and start yapping about you, much to their displeasure.

If you give this man an inch, he’ll take a mile (even if you didn't mean to give him anything to begin with). You smiled at him once (all soft-like, the way that made his heart race) and now he’s planning how he’ll propose. He isn’t subtle about it either, why else would he ask you what your ring size is?

Every now and then he’ll send you love letters, accompanied by flowers and chocolate, of course. They’re extremely sappy, and long - one was like five pages (including the backs). It might’ve been sweet, had they not included details that he shouldn’t have known. Like how he loved the way your eyes brightened when you took that first sip of morning coffee, or how he couldn't wait to pick out some knick-knacks together to add to that shelf over your bed.

He’s always trying to impress you with something. He will spend an extra long time shining all his guns (and his spurs, can't forget those) to really catch your attention. He’ll put on fancier clothing, tie his hair back neatly, and scour Nevada for some nice-smelling aftershave to wear around you. He just wants you to look at him.

He already considers himself “your beau”, and will refer to you almost exclusively with pet names. Besides the usual staples like Honey or Darlin’, he’s particularly fond of “Pumpkin” for some reason. (Probably because it’s what he imagines calling you once he gets home from work. After you're married, of course.)

Despite his cowardly nature, he’ll take every opportunity to “defend your honor”, typically in the cases where someone did something unforgivable to you. This includes things like insulting you, making you uncomfortable, flirting with you, looking at you for a second too long, walking in the same direction as you when you walk home, etc. You know, normal things for him to be worried about.

His men are tired of covering up murders. They didn’t get paid enough to scrub guts off the sidewalk.

If you don’t know how to defend yourself, he’ll teach you to shoot! (It could be a fun bonding activity, right?) He does the standard thing, bringing you to an empty lot with bottles and handing you one of his revolvers. But he’ll put his hands on your shoulders, gripping them tightly and leaning in uncomfortably close as he gives you instructions. The feeling of his breath against your cheek makes you shiver (in slight disgust, but given his purrs, you doubt he realizes that).

He's ashamed to admit it, but he has considered kidnapping you on several occasions. You're far too fragile to be out on your own, and while Sheriff does bring danger with him, he and his men would do an excellent job at protecting you. (Plus it could be like a "trial" for living together before you get engaged. People do that a lot, it's perfectly normal.)

As evidenced by the many songs he's sung to you, he's very extra with his affection. He spends a lot of time making very elaborate plans for "dates" the two of you will go on (and yes, he conveniently forgets to tell you what they are before you agree to come along). It's all candle-lit dinners, slow-dancing, and stargazing with him. He's just hopelessly in love with you and wants to do everything possible to show it.

Never mind the fact that you have to be tied up on some of these. As much as he would willingly chase after you, he didn't want you to have to eat cold food or miss out on the main event (that's just cruel). Plus he finds the way that you trip into him when bound kind of adorable (even if your glare makes him shrink in on himself).

But don't worry! Despite your small resistances, he knows that deep down, you love him too. He understands that he would have to spend a little longer showing his dedication to your relationship for you to finally accept him openly. You're a real catch, it makes perfect sense that he would have to work for you!

Until then, he'll continue upping his efforts to prove his love to you. Just don't wait too long, lest he decides to do something drastic.

Sousa is an absolute disaster when their first child is born

He tries to stay strong for Daisy while she’s in labor, and she’s doing great, but he is still completely freaking out

But all goes well, the labor was short, and Sousa only felt like he would pass out maybe once or twice

And before he knows it, he’s holding a tiny, wrapped-up bundle with a scrunched red face and the most beautiful little hands he’s ever seen

They haven't decided on a name yet, and as Daisy watches the two from her bed . . . she suggests they name their son Jordan, after Daniel (who wipes away a few tears . . . not so discreetly)

Turns out, Jordan Phillip Sousa is his father’s carbon copy

The two are inseparable

Jordan’s first word is “papa,” and he lands his first wobbly steps straight into Daniel’s arms

Most evenings they'll pick out a book, and Jordan will tuck himself up against his father’s chest, and listen to every word, completely focused

(Daisy has so many pictures of the pair, from every sneaky angle she can manage, and just wishes she could capture their adorable focused faces, with Jordan’s tiny eyebrows wrinkled up in a mirror image of his father)

One of Daniel’s favorite memories with his dad, whenever they both had the time, was camping

So when Jordan is seven and little Miranda is three, Daisy agrees to a good-old-fashioned, domestic, much-needed family vacation to Idaho

It’s the best two weeks she could have imagined, and Daniel is completely in his element

So they make it a yearly tradition

Even around crazy schedules and the (very surprising) addition of a third child when Jordan and Miranda are twelve and eight, respectively . . . They take the time off and make the trek across the United States, the month-old Rachel snuggled contentedly against her father’s chest in a baby carrier as they hike the beautiful Idaho trails

That same year, Daniel gets a call from Mack

The director says there's a set of six-year-old identical twin girls who were found by SHIELD, abandoned in the middle of the Alaskan tundra . . . and barely made it out alive

They have no family, and they both have inhuman powers

Mack knows no better couple than Daniel and Daisy to take the twins in

Sousa doesn't even need to think about it. The answer is yes

Daisy cries for weeks

And before even four years pass, the adoption is official

Hazel and Leah become Sousa-Johnson kids

They're a family of seven, and Daniel could never have imagined, even in his wildest dreams, that he would be living this life

It's all he ever wanted

Years pass, and when Jordan is seventeen, he starts making plans to enroll in the Coulson SHIELD Academy

And Daisy and Daniel couldn’t be happier

He even has two classes with Professor May, and his field training will be led by none other than Yo-Yo herself

The day Jordan moves into the dorms, Daniel can’t hold back the tears

He hugs his grown up son every chance he can get, and wonders how in the world time flew so fast

Daisy would call him a dork and say he's being sappy, for sure

But he absolutely doesn’t care

He remembers his own time in college, then in the military, and remembers how nervous he was and how new it all seemed and how it felt like nothing would ever be the same

And it wasn't

But it had all been for the best

So he grips Jordan's shoulder (he has to reach up above his own, which always shocks him, how tall his son has become) and tells him how proud he is and how many great things Jordan will do

And when the family leaves the Academy, the four girls' faces pressed against the car windows to catch one last glimpse of their brother, Daniel looks over at his wife, who is desperately wiping away tears from her bloodshot eyes

They arrive home, and Daniel pulls Daisy into his arms, comfortable and familiar, and lands a silent kiss on the top of her head

Then he makes sure to hug each of his daughters, kiss their foreheads, and remind them (with teasing in his voice) not to ever leave him too, or he would cry for years

They all roll their eyes

But they sit at the table for dinner, and stare at Jordan's empty spot, and laugh because Hazel just knows he's already gotten into so much trouble

Daisy grins and says he's probably already been suspended, and it hasn't even been a day

Daniel watches his girls . . . And thanks his lucky stars

What else could have brought him this much joy and happiness, other than the universe perfectly aligning?

there's something very intimate about domesticity and just enjoying company without anything "interesting" happening. i think you get to know a person the best when you see how they act when they're bored or are doing mundane things. cleaning, cooking, reading, laughing... home is where we're comfortable and feel most at ease, generally. or the most vulnerable. it all depends.

and the simple things we do with our hands that are expressive in the tiniest of ways... lol ok i'll stop before i get sappy and poetic

boy oh boy andrew using pet names too really is *chef's kiss*

i believe that neil uses them more, because he's a giant fucking sap who looks at andrew like this 24/7

andrew's not nearly that comfortable with them, but every once in a while he'll let one slip and neil has trouble staying upright

so, a list of pet names andrew uses:

junkie.

standard. easy. the only one he's willing to use in front of people because he can pretend it's not actually affectionate (it is)

pretty boy or pretty thing

neil is just,, so pretty, sometimes andrew can't stand it. this one sorta slipped out by accident when they were in a non-serious argument. except,, neil choked on his tongue immediately. argument over.

andrew had never once won an argument with neil until that moment

the thing is, neil doesn't say much about it, but he's actually extremely insecure about the way he looks for a half-dozen different reasons, and hearing from the only person he's ever been attracted too that he's.. pretty.. does things to him

andrew starts to slip this one in whenever he needs to redirect neil, because calling him "pretty boy" never fails to make neil blush and bluescreen for a second. a full minute if andrew growls it in his ear while grabbing his hips or running a hand over his thighs

sweetheart

this one is harder for andrew to get out because he can't hide this one as casual. he always uses it very deliberately

the first time he says it, they're in bed together, but it's not a good night. neil is shaking and andrew is holding him together, arms wrapped around him, and he whispers into his shoulder, "neil... sweetheart... I've got you. You're safe. I've got you, sweetheart, and I'm not letting you go" and it makes neil sob, just once, but it's enough to get the tension out of his body and in thirty minutes he's asleep again

"sweetheart" isn't one that andrew uses lightly, it's always intense, intimate, intentional. he calls neil "sweetheart" when they're kissing before they go all the way for the first time, and also on their first morning together in their first apartment

bunny

okay. this one is entirely self-indulgent. neil used to be a rabbit, but he's not going to run away anymore. he's been domesticated. he's a bunny rabbit now

(aside: andreil with a pet rabbit)

"bunny" is about as cute and sappy as andrew gets, but it makes neil laugh and eventually, it even makes andrew smile, too

one halloween neil dresses up as a bunny for their little inside joke. if only andrew could talk around his tongue hanging out of his mouth

he calls neil "bunny" when he's feeling loose and flirtatious and... happy

when he's gotten neil a new outfit that shows off his ass and andrew wraps around him from behind and kisses his cheek and tells him "you look good, bunny"

when he picks neil up in the maserati from his last final before summer break with their bags already in the back and says "where to, bunny?" from under his sunglasses because they don't have a plan, just a few free weeks and each other

when they're pros and they haven't been able to see each other in person in months and they're video calling while they both make dinner and neil gets flour all over himself because he gestured too big. and while he's scrambling andrew snorts and drawls "i miss you, bunny" only it accidentally comes out more sincere than sarcastic

so, yeah, andrew uses pet names too, because maybe he's also a giant fucking sap

neil uses tons of pet names. andrew's been called "the monster" for so long and neil wants to counter that, to make sure andrew knows that he's wonderful and valued and loved and desired

(also andrew hates it no he doesn't and neil lives to rile him up)

so whenever they're alone it's "handsome" "honey" "angel" "sweetie" "baby" "gorgeous" "darling" "lovely"

and for someone with no reaction to insults, andrew is absolutely fucking floored by compliments
