First and foremost, I really want to update my most recent BurningCheese fic. Two weeks with no chapter 2, even though the outline has been done for way longer than that. Annoys the hell out of me personally

My vacation is over, gotta go back to my normal life again. Which includes going out and working lol. Don't have much time to write anyway (or I guess that's where my insomnia might help me 😅😅😅)

I kind of hate saying this, but I'm a little worried/afraid that I won't do Shadow Milk justice. Like I'll write him "wrong". I've read a few PureShadow fics already (been loving the PureShadow content explosion recently lol, BeastAncient shippers stay winning) and they're fantastic. But they make me think "ah shit, I can't compete with that" lol. But I'll get over it and write something eventually

today a different wip again that I don't think I shared yet lol - writing a smutty sequel to my bucktommy post-first date fic and it's barely started but there's progress! 😅

“Say that again.” Buck says quietly, even to his own ears sounding almost frantic. His hands twist in the fabric of Tommy’s t-shirt, and pull him as close as possible with their seatbelts on. He needs to get to his place as soon as possible and get enveloped in Tommy, no room for air between them, he just needs him closer, closer, closer.

“Say what?” Tommy teases, lips brushing the shell of Buck’s ear, knowing damn well what Buck wants to hear. 

“You know what.” Buck pulls away slightly, just to meet Tommy’s eyes, and can’t stop a pout that quickly turns into an awed smile. It’s a late evening, the sky is dark, just like the inside of the car, only illuminated by the lights of the city as they’re driving, and Tommy looks so gorgeous. There’s an amused smile playing on his kiss-swollen lips, but even in the dark Buck can see his own desire mirrored in Tommy’s eyes.

“What?” he smirks, leans closer to press a kiss to his lips again. “Baby?” he whispers, and Buck shivers, a sharp gasp escaping him. Oh, he likes this. He likes when Tommy calls him just about anything, in that wonderful voice of his, but this, being called a pet name like this by a man, it’s new and thrilling, and that man being Tommy is just so exhilarating, it makes his racing heart skip a beat, and it only adds to the heat pooling in his stomach. Shit, he needs to get Tommy alone right the fuck now.

This is probably a weird ask but what isn’t a weird ask form me. But while I was rereading resonant I realized that the way you write Jon seems to me that he what we would in modern terms call ADHD. As someone with it I just wanted to know if that was intentional. ( to be fair the way he’s written in. Asoiaf proper also strikes me as that.

Hm, do you mean the way he can sort of spiral and often finds himself in need of a physical outlet? I wouldn't say I was intentionally trying to represent ADHD, though he certainly has some hyperactivity behaviors. He's just sort of how I feel ASOIAF!Jon + Jon Redfort + ASOIAF!Jon suddenly dealing with being a child would be. Frustrated by not being able to do things that he used to be able to do, action-oriented but still capable of planning, a little impulsive / quick to jump to conclusions at times.

In terms of being able to maintain focus, I'd say that he's shown himself to be pretty effective as Lord Commander, though his preferred learning style is definitely one of practical application rather than studying, and he also prefers "doing" to planning (but is plenty capable of wearing that hat when necessary).

I work with somebody about once a week who is so fascinating to me, especially when they are at our first desk. When someone walks in, they do not so much as smile or look at them, much less greet them. When someone leaves, they don't do anything either. If someone says, "Thank you," they say, "Sure," and if someone says, "Have a good one," they say, "Sure."

Listen. I don't know if it's because I was born and raised in the South for over three decades or because I was the front-facing customer-service-driven person at my previous jobs for a grand total of eight years. But I wince and get a little flappy anxious every time. What do you mean, you're not greeting people warmly so they're smiling as soon as they come through the door? What do you mean, you don't thank them for coming, wish them a good day, and bid them farewell? What do you mean, you just don't interact with the public unless forced, even in our front-facing job?

I think the amiable Southern politeness is just too engrained in me. There is no getting rid of it. And I'm kind of hoping that eventually I can work my way up to having more shifts at our first desk instead of our second because it's a lot weirder to gently greet someone from a distance when the employee closest to them is not paying them a single bit of mind.
