Sprinkled Surprises of Hope and Love
Summer nights in Roswell, New Mexico were some of Michael’s favorite times in this place. Ever since he was younger, he’d drive out in the middle of the desert and just watch the stars shoot across the dark night sky. He would make a wish or two, but truthfully he’d never actually believed them to be true.
That is until he met Alex Manes.
Alex Manes was the love of his existence. Often he would think that the cosmos themselves brought the two of them together. Perhaps coming to earth was written in the stars long ago so he’d find this special human man. Alex was nothing short of a miracle to his life. He gave Michael all the reasons to hope and dream, and basically…want to be and do better.
Sure, they had their ups and downs, but Michael always believed that it was worth the journey to get to this final destination with his one true love. With no regrets made, he had stayed on earth for Alex.
“What are you thinking about, Guerin?”
His thoughts of the perfect man were interrupted by the man himself. Michael looked over and saw his love smiling over at him, the crackling fire illuminating that breathtakingly beautiful smile of his. “You, as always, Darlin.’”
“You’re such a charmer,” Alex laughed as he leaned in for a kiss.
Awe yes, kissing Alex Manes. There was nothing quite like it. He was always taken back in time to their first kiss at the UFO Museum. Truth be told, he wanted to kiss Alex long before that, but unfortunately, he had been too scared to let those feelings come in. Michael had been so vulnerable in those moments. When Alex had leaned in to kiss him after giving him a safe haven and the gift of music, he had pulled away not just out of fear, but out of hope for something more than the life he had been dealt. Michael knew he would’ve messed it all up, so he hadn’t wanted to give in to the dream of wanting someone like Alex Manes.
However, he was not that strong. All it took was one look of the guy in his alien-green painted visor to know he was a goner. Without thinking of all the complications it could bring to their life, he had given in to desire.
It was the greatest move of his life.
He was brought back to the present moment as Alex’s hands moved into his curls. Every kiss they shared seemed to take away his breath yet fill him with life at the same time. It was familiar and comforting, but unique and mesmerizing. Soft lips nipped and sucked as his; Alex’s tongue licking to be let in, which of course he would always extend an invitation for.
Their tongues moved together as the crickets serenaded them in an orchestra of the warm night. He pulled away breathlessly, “God, I love kissing you.”
Alex followed him and smiled against his mouth, the warm breath of his lover hitting his face gently in an embrace, “It never gets old, does it?”
“Never,” Michael answered honestly, “I could kiss you forever and it still wouldn’t be long enough.”
“Then we’d better take every opportunity we can then. We’re living our forever,” Alex whispered, moving his mouth to Michael’s once more.
Yes, this opportunity would not be wasted on drifting thoughts of years past.
But then Alex pulled away, as Michael whined, and looked down at his watch, “Oh! It’s officially midnight. It’s your birthday!”
“Yay….”
“Hey! It’s a big deal, Michael!”
He shook his head. Another year had come and gone on a day he wasn't even sure was his real birthday, “It’s just another day.”
“Not to me it isn’t,” Alex replied as he kissed Michael’s cheek.
“You have to say that because I’m your boyfriend.”
“Nah, it’s because you’re my boyfriend that I can tell you that you drive me absolutely crazy!”
Michael grinned, “In bed?”
“In all ways imaginable.”
“As it should be,” Michael answered with a sly smile.
“Happy Birthday, my love,” Alex whispered softly into the night.
They embraced tightly; this was what made Michael felt safe. As he held Alex in his arms, he looked up at the beautiful speckled sky not wanting to be anywhere else but here.
***
“A BBQ?”
“Yes, Alex, a BBQ at the cabin! We haven’t been there since lover-boy moved in with you,” Isobel laughed on the other line. “I want to see how you’ve made it your own, and to see if Michael trashed it yet.”
“I wouldn’t let him,” Alex replied with a shrug to no one. Truth be told, having Michael move in with him was the greatest gift a man could ever wish for. All walls were down between them. They were finally comfortable being with each other in every way. It was literally heaven on earth.
“That’s my boy!” Isobel exclaimed as Kyle gave a cheer in the background. The two of them had recently started dating, and Alex couldn’t be happier for the two of them. They both deserved some happiness in their life. Kyle was his best friend, and Alex was growing closer with Isobel by the day. He enjoyed her sassy spirit—it matched his own.
“What’s Kyle going to bring?”
“He’s going to help manage the grill and I’ll be marinating the steaks of course.”
Alex smirked, “Since when did you learn to cook, Iz?”
“Please, Alex, I’ve always been a good…” He heard a sigh in the background, “Kyle has been teaching me. But fine… we’ll let Max marinate, he lives for this crap, which you know thrills Liz!”
“Ahh, that’s what I thought.”
Isobel huffed, “He won’t even let me use my powers. Not even a bit.”
“Well, that’s just rude,” Alex laughed as he shook his head, “You’re Isobel Evans, when have you ever listened to expectations?”
“Hmm, you know something, my dear friend, you’re right! I’ll work a little magic with our drinks!”
“Sounds perfect,” Alex smiled widely. Then he took a small breath, “You think Michael will enjoy this?”
“It’ll be the best surprise birthday that alien’s ever received! Just you wait and see.”
Alex sure hoped so. He wasn’t sure how much his alien lover enjoyed… surprises.
***
Michael looked up at the clock high on the wall of the Wild Pony and groaned. It had already been almost two hours.
“What’s your problem, man?” Max asked as he took a long swig of his beer.
“Brother, as much as I love sitting here listening to you talk about Liz and the latest felon, there’s a certain human I’d like to spend the rest of my birthday with.”
“Awe, c’mon, Michael!” Max replied with a smirk, “When was the last time we just got to sit and hang out together?”
“Like three days ago at the Crashdown, remember? And you kept stealing my curly fries and it pissed me off.”
“I gave you the rest of my shake, I don’t see what the problem is.”
Michael shook his head, “You never steal a fry, my friend. It’s the Food Law—Code 3. You’re a police officer. Don’t they teach you these protocols at camp?”
“Camp?”
“Yea, you all run around and shoot cardboard people… maybe a few aliens in the mix. Then you get evaluated so you try to explain that the aliens are in fact the good guys, not the young little girl out at 3 am.”
Max laughed loudly and shook his head, “You watched Men in Black again, didn’t you?”
“It’s a classic! Even Alex agrees. Plus, you and I both know that organization exists.”
“How many times are you going to make that poor human watch that movie?”
Michael slyly smiled with a wink, “Until he forces me to stop. You know how I love when he takes charge.”
“Okay well, I hate to break it to you, partner, but the Academy wasn’t like that,” Max shrugged looking down at his phone. “But fine, I’ll get you to your man.”
“About damn time!” Michael said standing up quickly, almost knocking his hat off his head. Max gave him a ‘really’ expression, the one he excelled at and was most likely born with. “I mean, I had a wonderful time with you and we should do it again soon.”
Max grabbed him by the jacket and put an arm around him, “Yeah yeah, c’mon, you.” Michael couldn’t help returning the gesture.
***
“How many balloons do I need to blow up? I thought I was managing the grill,” Kyle mumbled as it was clear the good doctor was getting lightheaded.
“Um,” Liz looked over her shoulder, “Only about 16… maybe 20, to go.”
Kyle groaned as Isobel leaned over and kissed him on the cheek, “Honey, you’re doing a fabulous job. But um, they need a bit more air. They’re looking a bit… I don’t know, lopsided.”
“You have powers, why don’t you do it? It’ll go so much faster.” Kyle replied with a wink as he kissed Isobel.
“Ugh, do we need to see this all night?” Rosa groaned as she rolled her heavily lined eyes.
“Nope. Soon Michael will be here and you’ll get to witness the Cosmic lovers go at it,” Isobel exclaimed as she motioned to Alex. “And I’ll be using my powers for something else, thank you very much!” She winked his way and handed Rosa some green streamers.
Smiling, Alex shook his head as he heard a meow. He looked down to see Boots rubbing up against his leg. Scooping the small kitten up he said, “Hi little fella, is this too much excitement for you?”
Boots purred loudly and rubbed his face against Alex’s cheek in reply. He wasn’t just happy Michael moved in because he was in love; he was also happy because he just so happened to love Michael’s cat as well. Alex stroked the black and white fur. Boots touched his face softly with his white paws as Alex cradled him in his arms.
Just then he heard a bark and he looked over at his dog Buffy, “Don’t worry, sweetheart. You’re still my number one girl.”
He bent down, still holding Boots, and rubbed Buffy’s ear gently as her tail started going back-and-forth wildly. She rolled over and he gave her a big belly rub, the ones she loved.
Alex sat Boots down, and he curled up nice and close to Buffy, who not only allowed it but seemed to welcome the warm snuggles. The two of them really were the best of friends. Just like Milo and Otis.
“Hey! Max just texted me, they’re on their way,” Liz called out from the kitchen, looking flushed in the cheeks as she continued running around.
Isobel jumped and down and clapped excitedly.
Grabbing his guitar and taking a big breath, Alex hoped like hell Michael would forgive him for all this. He really did.
***
Michael was getting annoyed. Really annoyed. He loved Max, truly he did, but the guy was driving slower than watching paint dry. He kept his mouth shut though, resisting the urge to use his powers, not wanting to ruin their now healed relationship.
He just wanted to be with Alex. It was hard enough to be away from the guy at any point, and this was his birthday, not that he cared much about that fact, but he knew Alex did and probably planned a nice dinner or somethin’ for the two of them.
Finally, they arrived at the cabin. He was about to turn to Max to say a quick goodbye and thank you, but Max was unbuckling and stepping out of his car. What the hell?
Max clearly caught on, “Oh, I’m not going to stay or anything. I know you probably have birthday plans with Alex. I just have to ask him something.”
Since when did Max ask favors from Alex?
Shrugging with a curt nod, ignoring the awkwardness, they walked around back where he knew Alex would be. The first thing he saw was twinkling lights hanging down from the trees.
As his mind was slowly comprehending what was happening, he was stunned into silence at the….
“SURPRISE!”
Michael jumped at the word, literally getting air off the ground, and looked around. You have got to be kidding me, he thought as he saw all of their friends standing there. But where was Alex?
Just as he was about to ask the most important question, he heard the music start to play.
Alex was sitting on one of their barstools next to the trees, holding his guitar. He blew a kiss in Michael’s direction, a wink, and started to sing.
It was the song A Million Dreams from The Greatest Showman, a movie they both had enjoyed. This song though...the way his voice hit the notes was mesmerizing. This was his gift for Michael; it meant so much to them both.
The first time they had watched it, they went to the local Roswell movie theater for date night, and when the song came on, their fingers had intertwined and Michael had leaned over whispering to Alex, “It’s like our journey and our future.”
Alex has nodded and pressed his lips to Michael’s, “Kind of like a song meant for us.” Their song.
He had remembered. Alex always remembered everything.
When he was done, everyone clapped as Alex smiled and nodded to Michael. Alex knew. He knew. Michael tried to ignore the tears forming quickly in his eyes and looked away, pulling his cowboy hat way low.
He was just so unbelievably touched at that moment. Music had always brought them together; it was the foundation of their relationship.
But before he could go kiss his boyfriend, Alex started playing again. This time “Happy Birthday.” They all joined in and he felt touched in another way.
They had all had their ups-and-downs with each other, especially with Kyle Valenti who sometimes he was still unsure of, but they had overcome so much. They were a family; they had made it so.
When they were finished, Michael cleared his throat. “Y’all, thank you.”
“How mad are you on a scale to 1 to 10?” Isobel questioned with a sisterly smirk, raising an eyebrow.
“You don’t wanna know,” he replied, narrowing his eyes.
“Perfect! That’s what we were hoping for!” Isobel exclaimed excitedly as she rushed over to him and kissed him on the cheek. He hugged her, never wanting her to change her eccentric ways. She was one of a kind.
He looked over at Max, “Guessing you were in on it?”
“I took you day drinking, Michael,” his brother from another mother replied. “How you didn’t question that, is beyond me.”
They both laughed and hugged. The guy really wasn’t so bad after all, was he? Max had a heart of steel… literally.
The others came over one-by-one and shared a hug or in Kyle’s case, a handshake. It was touching really.
But there was one person he wanted to get to, above all the rest.
Alex was still sitting on the stool, letting their friends have this time with him. But Michael made his way over and grabbed Alex’s chin lightly, tilting it up, “Thank you. Thank you for the song, it meant the world to me.” Alex nodded and closed his eyes. “And thank you for planning all this.”
“You aren’t mad?” Alex opened his eyes and winced slightly, as he put his hands on Michael’s wrists. It didn’t take a genius to know this was mostly Isobel’s doing. Alex would’ve been more than fine sitting by the fire and eating together. They never needed to have showy things; they had each other and that was more than enough.
“Nah,” Michael replied, shaking his head. “Because I know you’ll make it up to me later. In so many different ways.”
Alex’s eyes widened, then filled with desire. When Alex looked at him in that way, Michael wanted to rip his clothes off. He had to control himself so he didn’t do it with his powers, something he had recently done.
“Kiss me,” Alex answered softly, his bottom lip full and pouty. It needed to be sucked on, and he volunteered always as that tribute.
As they kissed softly, Michael felt as though he could finally catch his breath.
He heard Rosa groan in the background and Isobel chuckle, “Didn’t I tell you we’d witness some ‘Cosmic exchanges?’”
Now Michael shook his head and turned to glare at the group, “It’s my birthday and I’ll kiss my man if I want to.”
Liz laughed, her long hair swaying, “Should we just be on our way then?”
Michael grinned and looked towards their cars, “Well….”
“Absolutely not!” Isobel said with that party planner gleam in her eyes. “The party is just getting started!
And party they all did. It was a wonderful evening, to Michael’s relief. They ate delicious food, which Liz, Kyle, and Alex managed. The three humans laughing over old memories. The drinks were exceptionally tasty and he kept noticing Isobel winking at Alex; information he’d pry out of his lover later. He enjoyed the fire with Max and Rosa, who talked old bands and good music as Rosa played some music of her own with Alex’s guitar.
The cake was a special one that Liz, Rosa, and Arturo made. It had an alien on top, with green frosting running down the sides. It was delicious, and his alien insides were very happy. There were lots of candles on top. Michael smiled knowing very well, he could possibly be older or younger than that.
They gave him some gifts. A really nice whiskey, a new belt and shirt that he actually really liked, and a few books. He loved to read, especially at the cabin. The people surrounding him knew him better than he ever realized.
He enjoyed the conversations, the music, and the company of his furry pets as he rubbed Buffy’s ears; the red kerchief he gave her was tied loosely around her neck. Occasionally he’d look at the window and see Boots staring sadly out the window clearly wanting to join the party. He’d go into the cabin and give his kitten some lovin’. Boots was too small to be let outside, so he’d have to bring the attention inside. Rosa and Isobel were so fond of the cat and demanded to also share the affections of his little one. Boots was thrilled, purring loudly.
They all eventually made their way around the fire, telling jokes and stories of the adventures they had all gone on together. It had been one wild ride. He was grateful for all of it, even the rough times. They shaped who he was and you know what? That was more than enough.
***
After everything was cleaned, and they had gone deep into the night, everyone finally said their goodbyes.
Alex had found him on their porch, as he was looking up at the night sky once more. Leaning over, Alex put his arms around Michael and gave him a soft kiss on the cheek. “Did you have a nice birthday, sweetheart?”
Michael sighed and leaned back so he could look at Alex from within his arms. “You know what? I really, really did, baby.” He smiled softly and kissed Alex’s hand gently, “Thank you.”
“It was Isobel’s idea really,” Alex replied with a grin, “but I did think it was a good opportunity for you to see how loved you are.”
“Guess I do need you all to remind me from time to time.”
“I’ll help to do that, my love, always.”
They gazed up at the night sky, the beginning and the end of their night.
Michael held tightly to Alex’s hand, his lifeline, and his anchor that kept him grounded. Michael looked up at Alex as his love looked down at him.
“I love you, Michael.”
“I love you, Alex.”
They spoke the words at the same time; double the meaning, double the love.
Michael grinned as Alex sat down next to him, “Maybe they were right about our ‘Cosmic exchanges.’”
“That’s how it’s always been with us.” Michael nodded in reply at the truth of Alex’s words. He was right of course; the course of their relationship was written in the stars. As if by magic, a shooting star suddenly danced across the night sky. “You better make a birthday wish!” Alex said as he looked up at the heavens.
Michael looked at his beautiful Alex and felt his heart swell. So this was what true happiness felt like, sprinkled with a dash of hope. What more could he ever want when he had the whole world next to him? He brought Alex’s hand softly to his lips once more and said, “It already came true.”

AN:  Finally back at the end of the century. The reason for no uploads on either the MMHOPH Headcanon blog (it's on Tumblr, go check it out) or on fanfics is because Persona 5 Roya came out and I finished that on Monday at 140 hours. Don't expect things to get to active too soon either, cause finals are next week. Regardless, let things get back to the usual. In keeping with Persona 5 Royal let's make today's song recommendation Beneath The Mask - Persona 5. Follow @spookylovesboba on Twitter and Tumblr and I hope you enjoy the chapter.

Mao Mao breathed in the fresh morning air. It was good to be outside again. Even if it was just to drop Adorabat off at school. He waved goodbye to her as she went inside, but he didn’t leave right away. He still felt terrible. It hurt to walk, and he couldn't lean too far on either side thanks to the hole. Camillie gave antibiotics and painkillers, alongside an extensive list of their side effects. The painkillers made his insides feel like cold porridge, and the antibiotics made his stomach feel weird. Nausea they caused together was unbelievable.
Nausea made it hard to remember if the school always had three students. He wasn’t sure, but he put aside his suspicion. It was probably another side effect. It was probably amongst Camille’s list of warnings; he couldn't know for sure.  It was way too early for any of this. It was too early for Mao Mao and certainly too early for Badgerclops. He was still asleep, and still drooling on his shoulder.
Mao Mao poked him until he woke up. “Huh, I was paying attention to the movie,” he yawned.
“It’s not movie night. We’re dropping off Adorabat.”
“Oh! Bye,” Badgerclops said waving.
“You’re at nothing, she’s already inside.”
“Oh. Well, that’s good, let's get you back to HQ.”
“No.”
“What? You should stay in bed, off of your feet, doctor’s orders.”
“Yeah, but I want to go out to do something. Let’s get a pizza.”
“Doctor also said no solid foods.”
“Smoothies then.”
Mao Mao revved the engine making Badgerclops tightly grab onto his waist. “You sure you don’t want me to fly,” Badgerclops asked.
“It’ll be fine.”
“A sick man with one arm shouldn’t be driving anything.”
“I said it’ll be fine.”
Mao Mao pulled back the accelerator, letting the Aerocycle fly off. Badgerclops may have had a point, but he wasn’t let anything stop him from enjoying his day.
* * *
Mao Mao was still stubborn as all hell. Not even a trip to the hospital would change that. He and Mao Mao went from one end of town to the other, walking the streets looking for one place that served smoothies. He told Mao Mao more than once that the only food places were Muffin’s Bakery and the convenience store. Watching him Mao Mao hobble around would be funny if he hadn’t nearly died less than a weak ago.
“Hey, Mao Mao!”
“Wha-”
Badgerclops had the small man tucked under like a football before he knew what was happening.
“Badgerclops, I am asking politely, but firmly to put me down before someone -and I mean you- gets hurt.”
“Awww, Is da wittle baby who just got outta the hospital mad.”
Mao Mao didn’t appreciate the humor. He wiggled like a worm and gnawed on his right hand, which probably would’ve hurt if it wasn’t made of metal, so Badgerclops just kind of ignored it. He walked through the narrow alleys towards Muffin’s bakery at the town square. He thought Mao Mao would stop eventually, but if Mao Mao was anything it was stupid. And also stubborn. Chomp! Chomp! Chomp! It was like a toddler using a teething ring. What was kind of funny at first became annoying, and now was just kind of gross to watch.
“You have to stop that before you hurt your teeth, and you and I both know that I don’t know how to schedule a dentist appointment,” Badgerclops said.
“I will when you put me…,” Mao Mao slowly fell silent as they entered the large open plaza of the town square.
“Hey, Badgerclops. What is that?”
“That’s the blob monster.”
“THE WHAT !”
Badgerclops flinched. Mao Mao slipped from his grasp ready to split his head on the pavement, but a cat’s gonna do what a cat's gonna do. He righted himself in the air to land on his feet. A much worse choice. Mao Mao’s eyes went wide from the pain before he fell down on all fours.
“Oh my god! I’m so sorry.”
Badgerclops went to pick him up, but he was waved off. “The blob. The blob. Tell me about the blob.”
“Cool it. Camille  high-blood pressure would give you a stroke.”
Mao Mao took a second to gather himself, clenching his fist before letting it all go. “All. Alright. The blob. What is the blob?”
“You should do that more often. You’re a very tense person,” Badgerclops teased.
“The blob.”
“Right, uh, the blob is a blob. Its big, gooey, kidnaps villagers-”
Mao Mao inhaled sharply and he tapped his foot.
“-it’s not all that bad. They’re unharmed, just a little confined. It hasn’t even taken anyone important.”
“Sheriffs? Is that you?”
Mao Mao and Badgerclops leaned forward, craning their necks and squinting their eyes. It was hard to see at first, Badgerclops had to open his cybernetic eye to actually see that King Snugglemagne was now a hostage. Mao Mao rubbed his temples why Badgerclops cursed fate for always making him look like a fool.
“Sheriff! It's utterly dreadful. Could you hurry and get me out? I’d certainly rather you didn’t forgo saving me like last time.”
“I’ve never done anything like that. I do my job, and I do it very well, thank you very much.”
“You did nothing when I was trapped in a net by that ruffian that looked a lot like you.”
For a second, Mao Mao raised a non-existent eyebrow, but his fur stiffened and he reached for his sword.
Aw shit.
Badgerclops stepped in front of the cat. “Let’s slow down. He didn’t mean to insult your son.”
“Don’t worry. I’m just cutting him out,” he said,” if I take a little off the top, oh well.”
He raised his sword up. Badgerclops quickly grabbed the blade before he could bring it down. “No, I mean they blob fights back if you attack it.”
“How do you know?”
“I kicked the blob once and it fought back. It gave me a nasty bruise.”
Mao Mao looked Badgerclops up and down,” where’s the bruise?”
“It was at the beginning of the week. It healed.”
Mao Mao started Badgerclops in the eye with frigid intensity before he sheathed his sword. Thank fuck he believed it.
“So, what do we do,” Mao Mao asked.
“Get lunch?”
Mao Mao nodded in agreement. “Sure. Let’s go.”
“Excuse me? Still stuck! Help!
He and Mao Mao tuned out the king. They turned around and began to walk away.
* * *
“Jellybeans aren’t lunch.”
“Then do you want a milkshake?”
“You know I’m lactose-intolerant.”
“Then hush-up and eat ya’ beans.”
Mao Mao grumbled, doing as he was told. He and Badgerclops sat on the bench just outside the gas station. Muffin’s Bakery was the first, but considering Muffin’s was trapped in the blob (and the broken storefront) it wasn’t open. The gas station was the second choice. It didn’t really offer food. Just the usual cheap snacks, and milkshakes for some reason. The blob had tagged along for what it was worth. Unfortunately, it had to carry most of the kingdom with it.
“Are you going to save me,” the king asked.
“We’ll get to it eventually,” Badgerclops held the drink in front of Mao Mao,” got you a milkshake.”
“I told you I can’t drink milkshakes.”
“Is it like cobbler? A hero's code thing? I won't tell anyone if you do.”
“No! It's ‘cause I’m not a kitten. Adult cats are all lactose intolerant.”
“Can Jǐngtì still drink milk or has it gone the way of the dodo? Might invite him here some time.”
The last part was said quietly, an absent thought that wandered out, nonetheless, Mao Mao’s ears perked up.
“Why would you invite Jǐngtì?”
Badgerclops awkwardly cleared his throat before speaking. “He helped me fix up HQ a bit.”
Mao Mao didn’t say anything. He pressed his fingers together. Thumb to index, thumb to middle, thumb to ring, thumb to pinky in calming repetition.
“Oh, and while we were cleaning we found this.”
Badgerclops pulled out a golden finger. It took Mao Mao a second to realize what it was. How did that happen? Did he do that? Oh shit, he probably did. He had to stop himself from snatching his father’s finger away.
“You know what this is,” Badgerclops asked.
“Think so.” Why did he say that?
“Are you gonna tell me?”
Mao Mao bit his tongue before he could let the name slip out.
“You want it back," Badgerclops asked.
“Yes, please.” Mao Mao wasted no time tucking the finger in his belt when it was handed back.
“So, do you remember what happened?” Badgerclops started.
“What happened when?”
When I was away.”
“No.”
“You don’t? You don’t remember what happened, how you got those wounds, who visited you? None of that?”
“I was pretty wasted and these drugs aren't helping my head, so what were we talking about before this?”
He could catch Badgerclops grimace at the rough change of subject, but Badgerclops was kind enough to oblige. “Something about Jǐngtì and milkshakes? You think he could drink milk?”
Mao Mao paused to think for a second,”...he might. He’s always had some… issues.”
“I don't mean to pry, but do you mind if I ask why?”
“No it's fine, but uh...what I mean is… well, you know how kittens can’t regulate their body temperature?”
“I did not know that, but continue.”
“Well, that’s supposed to go away by like, age 4, but Jǐngtì still can’t do it. It's fine since it's summer, but I’ll probably give him a coat when it starts getting cold.”
“Seems like a double-edged sword. Can’t stay warm, but can still enjoy cheese.”
“Yeah, the doctor’s say it because he’s a hybrid. Certain genes just don’t mix. He also has an issue with his eyes-”
Mao Mao cut himself short. Why was he being so open about all of this? Was it also the medicine?
“You good,” Badgerclops.
“Yeah, I think I’m fine. Where was I?”
“Something about his eyes.”
“Right, Jǐngtì’s pupils are larger than normal, so he can see really well in the dark, but he squints during the day or in a decently-lit room.”
“That’s one reason to wear sunglasses indoors.”
Mao Mao chuckled. “Yeah, I guess it is.”
“I checked on him while you were away. He’s holding up well. He even helped me fix HQ.”
Mao Mao twiddled his tail through his fingers,”...I’m sorry.”
“What? No, no, it's fine-”
“No, I mean it. I shouldn’t have caused you so much trouble.” Mao Mao choked up.
“I- I shouldn’t’ve-”
Badgerclops placed a supportive hand on his shoulder. ”If you ever feel… down again, just know I’ll be there to help you get back on your feet. Don’t be afraid to ask.”
Mao Mao closed in for a hug. He sniffled but managed to wipe the tear from his eye. “Yeah, thanks…I’m feeling better already.”
“Yes this all very touching,” Snugglemane interjected,” but I still don’t see you trying to help me.”
“Oh be quiet,” Mao Mao said, flicking a pink jelly-bean at the king. The shot missed its mark by a decent margin, helplessly bouncing off the blob.
“Geez, if I was the broad side of a barn that might’ve almost hit me,” the king retorted.
Mao Mao harrumphed and waved the king off. He wasn’t in the mood for jackassery. Even if it was coming from the guy that paid him. He was tired of eating jelly beans, so he began throwing them at the trashcan. It wasn’t too different from flicking a paper football. Although, jelly beans were much harder to aim. Badgerclops nudged him, holding out as his hand as they both began to take aim. Everything was going fine if you ignored Snugglemagne. Eventually, Mao Mao got tired of the nagging and flicked a bean at him.
“Stop that,” Snugglemagne whined.
Instead of stopping Mao and Badgerclops chuckled like Beavis and Butthead. At least they were chuckling until Mao Mao caught something out the corner of his eye. He shoved Badgerclops aside before throwing himself back as something smashed through the bench with comet-like fury.
Badgerclops coughed out,” what the hell was that,” as the dust cleared.
When everything settled, Snugglemane was face down in the dirt. Everything fell silent. Badgerclops inhaled sharply; Mao Mao began to laugh.
Badgerclops shot him a glare. Mao Mao quickly cleared his throat,” must be the medicine,” he mumbled.
Badgerclops was really proving himself because his eyes softened after a second. “Do you have any idea what happened?”
“I threw food at it, so it threw ‘food’ at me?”
“That… actually makes sense.”
“So, what do you want me to keep throwing jelly beans at them? It might get the rest of the kingdom?”
Badgerclops placed two fingers to Snugglemagne’s pulse before giving him a thumbs up. Mao Mao couldn’t lie to himself. It was kind of cathartic to watch the blob chuck Sweetipies a 100 MPH.  With every toss the blog got smaller and smaller. When the last one was free the blob sorta imploded. It bubbled up before shrinking down with a disturbing noise and spreading goo everywhere.
“What the hell just happened?”
“It got too small thus it lost structural stability and collapsed.”
“I don’t know what any of that means, but I do know that everything worked out in the end.”
“Someone’s going to have to clean all this goo.”
“And it won’t be us,” Mao Mao said,” c’mon we have to pick up Adorabat from school.
* * *
They were only slightly late when picking up Adorabat from school. The rest of the children -or maybe they weren’t actually children Mao Mao honestly couldn’t tell- poured out from the school. She hopped down the steps before flying over.
“Mao Mao! Mao Mao!”Adorabat said as she zipped around them.
Badgerclops metal arm extended out and held the child in place. “Woah, there little buddy. What’s gotten you up?”
“The teacher says we’re going to be doing a play!”
“Really? That sounds nice.”
“The teacher says it’ll be next week. You’ll come, right?”
“Sure. Sounds fun.”
Adorabat slipped out of Badgerclops’ grip, flying an inch from Mao Mao’s face. “You promise?”
“I promise,” Mao Mao chuckled, patting her head.

History of VineClan
Please don’t steal this idea! I’ve been working on it for more than 4 days!
I’ve left this in my inbox for  bit trying to understand what you meant by steal your idea. Im assuming you still want me to post this publicly, since you submitted it to me, but in future if you are afraid of someone stealing ideas perhaps maybe you can send a personal message and we can talk things through and discuss your ideas privately! Im always open to dms.
Formation- Vine was a loner who ran away from his father and then met a small group of cats who needed guidance and became their leader and taking them to the Trees of Time.
Many moons ago, BadgerClan, ShadeClan, the lost clan, SunClan, and the other clans, SnakeClan and StreamClan were dead. But now a new dawn is rising.
Thats quite a start, a new clan rising from the ashes of the old ones! Do the current day cats know much of the clans? Or are they basically starting over from scratch?
Rivals- After Vine and his group left the Woods of Water, another group, the Rogues of Roaming moved in and injured one of Vine’s best friends, Blue.
There was almost a war but Blue stopped it. The area is now known as the Roaming Rainfalls.
Always good to have some rivals. Do the rogues become their own clan as well?
Age- VineClan is old. Vinestar and Bluestar are remembered and celebrated every 12 moons
Old is... not quite a helpful descriptor. Perhaps a better way to indicate the age of a clan is through how many leaders have reigned, and for how long, or how many generations have passed.
Shaping Events- The elders told the story of how Blue stopped the war and the tales of the lost clans are less told than the founding of the clans which is very often. The bold and faithful BadgerClan, the tricky yet helpful ShadeClan, the sharp and qualified once missed SunClan, the passionate and quick SnakeClan and the kind and courageous, water-loving StreamClan
Okay so I see here that some stories of the old clans still survive, but there is still a lot of info you could expand on the old clans and the current association with Vineclan. How does Vineclan see themselves? Are they still the only clan now?
Heroes and Villians: All the living peaceful medicine cats, warriots and kits want to be like Bluestar and all the battle-hungry warriors and kits want to be like Rainstar. The villains are the Rogues of Roaming and VineClan’s greatest enemy.
Each side has the Hall of Fame.
There’s the Hall of Heroes and the Hall of Villians.
I’m glad to know you are thinking of some of them, I would love to hear the stories of your favorites!
Territory
VineClan’s territory Slope Woods by Day Twowalkers and the Twilight Twowalkers. Fires always come in the greenleaf and floods in leaffall every 48 moons. In those times, they go live in the Fire’s Flood Field (A Shelter Place). Some common animals are bugs, frogs, snakes, lizards, chipmunks, or squirrels. There may be foxes, raccoons, or porcupines as well. Look up in the trees, and you may see birds or bats.
Sounds like standard North America, although choosing a specific region might help you come up with details especially for some fun unique names.
On RainClan’s territory there is Training Valley, The Hunting Hills, the best place for hunting, Harmony Hills, every moon there is a truce where cats can talk and have fun and they share news and advice. The medicine cats go to the Star Cave with the Moon Crystal. Cats who are not medicine cats go to the Star Hollow and meet their ancestors with the Lightstone. It only works in the daytime.
Ah okay I see here that there is a second clan. There is also a lot of information to unpack in this paragraph. I do like that there are different ways to interact with your ancestors and that your average clan cat can still commune with Starclan, and the Day/night motif of spiritual connection here as well.
Camp
The camp is hidden in the slopes. Climb up it and you hop in it. It is guarded throughout the day. Over there is the nursery, the biggest den, the one with the huge sand wall. Cats have to leap over it just to get in. Only VineClan cats have that kind of strength and speed for that. The other smaller sand den goes into an underground cave where the apprentices sleep. Scouts sleep on top of the slope or the trees. Guards sleep in a pile of sand with there breathing devices called Sand Breathers so they can sleep and breathe easily. Hunters sleep underneath a pile of prey, so they always get first pick. That big pile of sand and leaves with a small sand wall. The Sand Gem is where the leader gives meetings and the leader glows whenever they sit on it. On top of the gem is where the leader sleeps with the rest of his family. The medicine cats sleep underground. There are two types of herbs, Sand Herbs, that can be kept underground, mostly for wounds and diseases. Sky Herbs are plants that are supposed to be kept outside, in the Green Den that’s open but protected with a bright surface that you can see through it. Poison Plants are spread out all over in the Roaming Rainfalls and the darkest, deepest corners of the Slope Woods.
I see a lot of interesting concepts here! I am fascinated by the implication that these cats have some form of technology or magic, to create the Sand Breathers and the hard clear surface (glass?) protecting the Green Den. I would love to hear more about those aspects, since technology and magic are things I tend to enjoy. As for the hunters sleeping under prey, that sounds a bit uncomfortable, I certainly wouldnt like to sleep under a pile of carcasses which might bleed or be dirty or stinky. So why did they choose to do that? Are they afraid their clanmates will steal their food?
Build: Cats that were born from Guards have a remarkable amount of strength. Cats who are born from Scouts have an unbelievable amount of speed, an average amount of both is how they become a Hunter and anyone who was born from a certain rank (Hunter, Guard, Scout) always is born with that ancestry.
I see you have gone for a more Tribe-like divisions of skills and build. If you have a certain build are you basically destined to be in that position, or can cats choose?
Pelt: Black cats are considered lucky and white cats with any other eye color than blue are considered unlucky. Any cat with a white pelt and blue eyes is not blind but very powerful and will be automatically chosen for deputy and given 12 lives if they’re evil and want war, 15 lives if they’re average and like a regular leader, 18 lives if they want everlasting peace and is good and kind.
I dont quite understand this. When white kittens with blue eyes are born, are they basically destined to be leader? What happens if there are two in the same clan at the same time? What is the significance of the number of lives? How does the clan or even Starclan itself decide how many lives to give them? Can they read their minds and intentions? Whats to stop a cat who says they want peace from getting those extra lives and then causing chaos? How does living that long affect those cats, or do they die of old age? While this is an interesting concept in theory, you might want to think this through a bit more, you dont have to discard it completely, but you do have to consider the ramifications and consequences.
Clan Roles-
Leader
The leader is voted for every 48 moons and if they are a white cat with blue eyes, there is no vote needed. If they are a white cat with blue eyes that’s good, they get to be leader for 144 moons. If they are voted again, it’s 96 moons.
Ah some more info, but still very confusing. If leaders are voted for every four years (48 moons) normally, what happens to leaders who havent lost their nine lives by that point? Do all leaders (other than white cats with blue eyes) get regular nine lives? Why do white cats get to be leaders for so long, and do their extra lives sustain their bodies that long? Are you saying a white cat with blue eyes could live and rule for 238 moons (almost 20 years, 144+96 moons)?
Deputy
The deputy is the leader’s Vice President and is chosen by the leader.
Medicine Cat
They follow the Code of the Stars. An apprentice is chosen with a trial. A trial starts at 5 moons. There are two tests: Intelligence and Heart. Intelligence shows how much you know. Heart shows how much you’re into it.
In order for kittens to pass this trial, are they all taught basic information and knowledge about herbs? What qualifies a cat to be chosen as medicine cat apprentice?
Elders
The elder’s average age is 65 moons. The oldest elder is The Protector of the Knowledge, the second oldest elder is Head Elder and reminds elders of their duties like their Daily Walk guarded by 1 Scout and 2 Guards and their Ceremony Seats and the Head Elder is like the deputy’s assistant who helps with everything and The Protector of Knowledge tells knowledge whenever needed.
I feel like I am missing a lot of info here, that there is a lot more to dive into. Its really nice to see Elders having their own positions and duties though at least!
Warriors
There are Hunters, Guards, and Scouts. Hunters are average, Guards are strong and Scouts are quick.
Okay, well Im not sure why Hunters are considered average, since that sounds a bit demoralizing, but I suppose that if the Guards and Scouts are elite warriors it might make more sense.
Queens
The Kitter is the cat who has been in the nursery for the most and assigns Kitsitters who take care of the kits after the age of 4 moons and stop at the age of 9 moons when a kit moves out of the nursery and into the apprentice den, so the queens can go back to their original role. The Kitsitters are mostly former queens or their fathers. The Protector of Knowledge mostly takes on an apprentice and there are called The Apprentice of Knowledge and they teach the 6-9 moons, the Way of the Warrior.
I see your cats are considered kits for longer than canon. Are these intermediate moons kind of like school? Why are medicine cat apprentices chosen so young before their schooling even begins?
Apprentices
They are apprenticed to 15 moons. The Protector of Knowledge mostly takes on an apprentice and there are called The Apprentice of Knowledge and they teach the 6-9 moons, the Way of the Warrior. The requirements to become a hunter is to hunt the most prey from sunup to sundown. Guards have to fight each other and the Top 3 becomes a guard. Cats who have failed have to take the test next moon and if they fail till they’re 18, they become a hunter. Scouts go into a race and the Top 3 becomes a scout and the 4th, 5th and 6th placers become Trial Scouts and if they fail their mission, they become hunters.
So I notice that there are two different ways to become a hunter, but they seem a bit contradictory. You mention that to become a hunter you need to hunt the most prey. Does that mean only one becomes a hunter? Or is there an amount each cat needs to hunt to pass their trial? And failed scouts still automatically become hunters without having to pass the same trial as regular hunters?
Kits
Kits are raised by their mothers from the age of 1-3 and their Kitsitters from the age of 4-9
Code of Conduct
The regular warrior code.
Laws
Punishment is placed in front of the StarClan Court and if it was minor it’s mostly cleaning out the elder’s den. Middle is suspension. Major is mostly banishment.
Mates
There is a ceremony for mates who want to be together forever.
Leader: Welcome, cats of VineClan who have wanted to be with (male cat) (rank) and (female cat)(rank) and today: we thank you for being here to share this extraordinary day. You may sit. Now, (male cat) do you, of your own free will, take (female cat) as your StarClan watched mate, to cherish and defend—as long as you both shall live?
Male Cat: I do.
Leader: (Female cat) do you, of your own free will, take (make cat) as your StarClan watched mate, to cherish and defend—as long as you both shall live?
Female Cat: I do.
Leader: With the promises you have made and with the power invested in me with all of StarClan watching, I now pronounce you mates for life. You may touch noses the bride.
(They touch noses and some purring may be made and that’s when the kits and apprentices leave.)
I see you have drawn heavily on modern human marriage ceremonies for your mateship ritual! But are there provisions if the cats break up? Or marriages where the cats aren’t strictly male and female?
All the other ceremonies are the same. Here’s two new ones.
The Protector of Knowledge Ceremony
Leader: You are the oldest cat (name of cat) and hereby should be known as The Protector of Knowledge for as long as you live.
Head Elder Ceremony
Leader: You see the second oldest cat (name of cat) and have proven your loyalty many times over and you are hereby known as Head Elder until the Protector of Knowledge hands over his/her power to you.
Naming: The kits are named after whatever the queens want their names to be.
Afterlife: Cats can go into whatever age they want too in the afterlife and there’s plenty of prey and instead of a dark slope there’s a light sunny field.
Thank you for sharing about your clans! I think there are a few things you might need to expand on and think through, if you would like we can chat in private as well if you are worried!

Week 10 Activity: Reading Log #3
Graphic Novel
Citation: Telgemeier, Raina (2019). Guts. Scholastic.
Summary: This autobiographical graphic novel follows Raina throughout her fifth grade year and chronicles her experience with anxiety and digestive issues. Through therapy, Raina learns mindfulness techniques to help calm her anxiety and understand her own thoughts and feelings better. Though she keeps her experiences secret from her friends throughout most of the school year, she eventually opens up to them and finds that they are quite accepting of her in the end.
Comments: This graphic novel does an amazing job at realistically depicting the experience of anxiety. There are a few points throughout where Raina’s anxiety is visualized as a swarm of words (representing everything she fears) circling around her head with a green, sickly-looking background. I found this to be a very accurate depiction of what anxiety feels like, and believe it could help young readers with anxiety realize that they are not alone in their feelings. Though the cover of Guts is simple, it perfectly depicts the content of the story in the way that it displays a drawing of an anxious and sick looking face.
Library Use: I would definitely include this title in a display for Mental Health Awareness Month in May, as it does a great job of realistically and positively depicting the experience of going to therapy as a child.
Fantasy
Citation: Dahl, Roald (1961). James and the Giant Peach. Puffin.
Summary: This story follows James, a young boy who became an orphan and was forced to live with his two cruel aunts after his parents were eaten by a rhinoceros. One day, a mysterious old man offers James green glowing crystals and states that if he eats them, unbelievable things will happen to him. James ends up accidentally losing all the crystals after he spills them near a peach tree. As a result, the tree sprouts a peach which ends up growing larger and larger. James discovers a tunnel leading into the peach and climbs inside of it, where he meets a collection of bugs who, as a result of eating the spilled crystals, have grown into the size of humans and can now talk. James befriends the bugs and together they escape James’ cruel aunts by cutting the stem to the peach and allowing it to roll away into the ocean. It is then carried away by hundreds of seagulls and eventually lands in New York City, where James and the bugs end up living successful, happy lives.
Comments: According to Vardell, “The characters of fantasy are essential for the reader’s engagement with the story. It should be possible to identify with the main character(s), even if they’re not human” (235). This definitely applies to James and the Giant Peach’s collection of insect characters - they all have very human-like personalities and become James’ family when he has none. I also liked the way it combined fantastical elements (like talking, human-size bugs) with a sense of realism. For example, the bugs still retain their normal “bug functions” and these are sometimes used as points to move the plot forward, like when the spider and silkworm create strings to attach to the seagulls that carry the peach away.
Library Use: I think this would be a really fun book to do a reader’s theater activity with, as the characters are all full of personality and would be exciting for children to play. The fantastical elements of the story would allow the children taking part in readers theater to use their imaginations throughout the activity.
Non Fiction #1
Citation: Cherry-Paul, Sonja (2021). Stamped (For Kids): Racism, Antiracism, and You. Little Brown.
Summary: This is a middle grade adaptation of Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You by Jayson Reynolds and Ibram X. Kendi. It tells the story of how racism originated in America over the past several centuries and explains how racism continues to affect America in the current day. It also discusses current antiracist movements such as Black Lives Matter, and provides strategies for young readers to identify and stop racist thoughts/feelings that they might carry themselves.
Comments: Cherry-Paul did an excellent job at adapting Reynolds and Kendi’s YA novel for a younger audience. Each chapter focuses on a specific subject, and these chapters contain visual elements such as illustrations and timelines to aid readers’ understanding. There is also a section at the end of each chapter where readers are prompted to “pause” and discuss/reflect on key ideas and themes they have learned. This book does a great job of not only explaining the complex history of racism in America in a way that is easy for young readers to understand, but also takes several opportunities to address the reader directly and has them confront and examine their own previously-held thoughts and beliefs.
Library Use: Though this book is one that middle-graders should be able to get through on their own, they will definitely get more out of it if an adult reads it alongside them and serves as a guide/discussion partner. For a library, it would make for a great book for a discussion group - the prompts at the end of each chapter can serve as prompts for the discussion and the librarian can serve as the guide/moderator.
Non Fiction #2
Citation: Kay, Katty; Shimpan, Claire; Riley, JillEllyn (2020). Living the Confidence Code: Real Girls. Real Stories. Real Confidence. HarperCollins.
Summary: This is a collection of stories from inspiring young women around the world who chronicle their successes, failures, and missions to make the world a better place. Some of the young women featured in this book include activist Greta Thurnberg and Paralympic athlete Haven Shepherd.
Comments: This collection of stories is inspiring and accessible for young readers. The format in which these stories are told switches up with each new story, keeping things fresh and interesting throughout. Some are told in interview-style, some as essays, and even some in the style of graphic novels. Along with the stories themselves, there are confidence tips included throughout for readers to apply to their own lives. At the end of the book, there are blank pages designed for the reader to write down their own story, which I thought was a nice touch.
Library Use: Since this book gives readers the option of telling their own story at the end, I think it would be fun for participants in a discussion group for this book to be able to each share their story with the rest of the group (if they feel comfortable to).
Ebook
Citation: Bogert-Spaniol, Megan (2015). 10 Little Kittens. Cantata Learning.
Summary: This interactive ebook introduces young children to baby animals and the sounds they make with a song that also has them count to 10 and back again.
Comments: This was one of the titles included in Capstone’s collection of interactive ebooks. I liked the way the first page provided a brief introduction to baby animals and prompted the reader to turn the page upon hearing the sound of a baby animal. The next pages consisted of the “10 Little Kittens” song, with each new verse introducing a new baby animal and the sound it makes. Each word on the page lights up as the narrator reads/sings it, allowing children to follow along. Though this ebook is simple in terms of its interactivity, it is useful in teaching very young children early concepts around animals, sounds, and numbers.
Library Use: This interactive ebook reminded me a lot of library story time events designed for young children, especially the song included within the book. I would feature this ebook and ones like it as part of a “story time at home” collection, so children have the opportunity to get some of the fun and educational moments these story time events provide outside of the library.
Educational App/Game/Website
Citation: checkology.org. News Literacy Zone.
Summary: This news literacy site provides interactive lessons which teach students how to separate fact from fiction when it comes to information they see in the news, on television, or on social media.
Comments: We live in a world where we are constantly bombarded by information from a variety of sources. Because the majority of this information is able to reach us without being fact-checked, we are vulnerable to being swayed by misinformation. This is especially true for young people, who have grown up entirely under this kind of information landscape. This website is incredibly useful in helping students look at information from a critical perspective. It contains several lessons on topics such as InfoZones and Misinformation. I did the InfoZones lesson, which separates information into six different purposes: to inform, to persuade, to entertain, to sell, to provoke, and to document. The lesson defines each of these purposes and has students watch video clips and look at screenshots from news articles or social media sites, and then identify the purpose of each piece of information. The videos included in the lesson are fairly short, as to not risk the learner losing interest. Some of the example pieces of information cover topics that middle/high schoolers will find relevant, such as school lunch pricing issues. It is free to register for checkology and take several of the lessons, though some content is behind a paywall.
Library Use: This is definitely something I would promote as a librarian, since news literacy is a topic that I feel is incredibly important for young people to be knowledgable in these days. I would probably use it as an element of a larger news/information literacy program that focuses on teaching young people (probably late elementary-middle school age) how to fact check and identify misinformation.

Note
So I never read warriot cats, so what's up with them? I gathered that it's about, like, tribes of feral cats, amd there's a tribe of god cats?? Am I even remotely close???????
oH BOY HERE I GO I’ve been waiting for this moment all my life. I don’t know if you’re asking for all the lore I have to offer but you’re getting it. But rather than explain all the bajillions of characters and arches and plots and subplots I’ll give you the structure:
•There are four clans of cats who live out in the wild. Thunderclan, Windclan, Shadowclan and Riverclan. Each clans has a leader, deputiy, medicine cat and a whole bunch of warriors (the attac and protec (ง'̀-‘́)ง cats) plus apprentices and elders. Also kittens and queens (pregnant cats)•The area in which they live is divided among the clans. There are battles and territory disputes between them (the amount of times a battle happened bc prey ran across the territory boundary and a cat trepases to get it was unbelievable you would think they would make a system of rules for those situations but nope let’s just argue about it every time) but they try to live in peace as much as possible. So they meet once a month to share news and chill. •Although the clans have diversity in culture and body types (yes there is lore within lore about there cats) they share some common beliefs. There is a warriors code that they all follow which is basically the rules and ethics that govern their society. (One of these rules is cats from different clans can’t date and if you don’t think that lead to some wild romantic subplots oh Boy you’d be surprised). They also have a common religion which is wild bc it’s true like you have spirit cats from starclan (this would be you’re “tribe of god cats”) doing shit and making omens and giving clan leaders nine lives but someone also atheists still exist? There’s a medicine cat who transcends all the silly clan disputes and does their own shit and talks to dead people twice a month. But they’re also banned from romantic relationships which yeah you guessed it leads to some shenanigans (There’s also literal cat hell but that’s only relevant in the last arch when they try to like come back to life)•Some cats don’t live in the clans. There are rogues and loners who are unaffiliated and the only difference is rouges will get up in the clans business and loners are chill. There’s kittypets which are house cats and the warrior code really frowns on that whole business. (Really. One of the main characters was born a kittypet and he gets shit for that for the rest of his fcking life) The tribe of feral cats u mentioned is probably bloodclan. A bunch of rouges formed an imitation of a clan and tried to take over the territory of all four of the clans leading to a nice bonding moment when they forget their quarrels and kicked ass.
And that’s a brief summary of how warrior cats works. Any questions ask away I’m a wealth of info about this dumb freakin cats
