Waiting for Terry and Josh to get together after one of them has some type of emergency that the 118 responds to. Maybe Terry had a bad day and Josh offers to take him out to eat after their shift, and Terry has an allergic reaction to something.

The 118 arrives, Terry isn’t breathing, but Josh is administrating CPR. When they take over, Josh is freaking out and keeps saying, “You can’t die on me, Terry. Not before I’ve told you that I’m in love with you!”

After Terry comes to, Josh falls to his knees beside him and sobs, “I love you. I’m sorry it took an emergency for me to figure it out, but I do.”

And Terry rasps out, “I love you, too,” in response.

While Josh climbs into the ambulance with Terry, Buck just stares at them with a wrinkle between his brows.

On the ride back to the station, Buck finally says, “I don’t get it. They’ve been working with each other for years now, they’ve been close friends forever, and they just now figured out they’re in love with each other? I mean, how oblivious do you have to be to miss what’s right in front of you?”

“I can get it if they had only known each other for like a year. But they’ve been working together for what? Six or seven years?” Eddie says shaking his head. “No offense, but you’ve gotta be real dense to not realize.”

Hen, Chimney, Ravi, and Bobby all just stare at them not saying anything until Chimney says, “Idiots.”

Eddie and Buck agree, but Hen tells them, “He wasn’t talking about Josh and Terry.”

It still takes Buck and Eddie several weeks to actually figure out they’re the idiots.

And when Buck starts gushing about the guy he’s interested in and the 118 fam all assume it’s Eddie then what 😭😭

Like imagine Buck just mentioning how he’s teaching him Muay Thai, how he’s gotten more interested in boxing and basketball because of him, how he’s a car guy, letting it slip how cool he thinks his time as a pilot was

And everyone, most likely Maddie, Hen, or Chimney, are like “oh so you finally realized you’re into Eddie?”

Only for Buck to be like “Eddie?? No I’m talking about Tommy, what made you guys think it was Eddie????”

Alternatively, Buck gushing to them and then 118 fam all realizing that he’s basically dating Eddie in a different font and that Buck is a dumbass (affectionate) 😭😭😭

fine i’ll say it…i think bucktommy is fine but him solely calling buck “evan” is a little blech to me…and that’s mostly just from a storytelling perspective because before this “evan” meant something… it was either used by his parents to show they don’t understand him or by maddie to show that she’s seeing him as her kid brother in that moment or by eddie just to show that he sees him and the conversation is important…and even then it was used very sparingly so the name didn’t lose its meaning but now we hear it so often it just seems like it doesn’t have as much meaning as it used to

They could hold hands everywhere, dedicate every little thing to each other, sleep in the same bed every night, kiss on the mouth,.. etc. and people would still not get the hint.😭

Ok I may be over analyzing this (I most definitely am) but I think the whole “It’s locked, you got a key?” “We don’t need a key. We’re firefighters.” and then Eddie kicking in the door has to be a metaphor for something bigger right? Like Buck and Tommy’s whole relationship is what got Buck to “unlock” this new side of himself (his bisexuality) and Tommy took a step back to wait for Buck to “be ready” with himself. Overall, their whole relationship started out a bit hesitant and gentle (not really sure how else to put it).

But I think Eddie is just gonna get smacked in the face with his feelings somehow, or somethings going to happen to Eddie and Buck is gonna get smacked in the face with his feelings. Either way, I think that while Buck and Tommy’s relationship arc is more sort of a nonchalant going slow type of thing, something dramatic is gonna kick in that door that leads to Buddie and I think it’s gonna be something that happens to Eddie. Maybe I’m crazy though I guess I just have to wait until it happens.
