Sorry this took so long! Trying to pick five made me realize I have... a lot of writing. Like a LOT. So I kind of just did whatever came to mind, even though I know there’s stuff I’m proud of that isn’t on this list haha

This is kind of two in one but they’re on the same fic so it’s ok. I’m proud of this whole fic, but I particularly like how the Link’s Awakening and Skyward Sword chapters turned out. Link’s uncle is an underutilized character and him giving Link a very needed hug just felt so cathartic after what I did to him. hug that poor guy. And the Slyward Swprd one is honest to goodness one of the fluffiest things I’ve ever written, but it sort of proves I can write fluff and I’m proud of it because of that?? Also because that was my first time writing Groose and I think he turned out well. I’d change some things if I wrote it now but it’s still good :)

I know I haven’t updated it in over a year but I’m really proud of the Twilight Turns (true form au fic). Making Midna get her true form earlier and seeing how that changes the game is fun (and hard oof) to write and fun to play with. Is it a little unrealistic? Maybe. Did I have fun making Link nearly die in quicksand, and then make Midna panic so hard she ended up kissing him which sent them both on a spiral of “wait whoa wait do we like-like each other”? Yes. Yes I did. I think the bit in the most recent chapter with the chu jelly stuff is one of my favorite parts, but I’ve worked hard on the whole thing and I’m proud of it. I need to update it so badly ackkk

Ooh and this thing with Lost! Again, I really like the emotion I managed to pull through in this, and showing the hero’s spirit actively fighting against the darkness even though Link felt like he couldn’t do anything was just fun. He’s fighting back harder than he thought! His spirit tells him he’s doing a good job and hugs him because he can tell he needs it!! hurt/comfort babey :D

This downfall Incredibles au thing I wrote I’m pretty proud of— I struggled with it up and down, but I think in the end I finally got the emotions across that I wanted to :) especially the bit where Legend is panicking because he thinks he’s about to lose his mom, it hit hard hehe. And I always welcome an excuse to make Malon be cool while also loving her family/the Links.

This hdw au fic about Volga and Impa actually talking was really fun to write, I think their dynamic came through wonderfully, and making them address some of the misunderstandings and decisions they’ve been living with for years was interesting. I haven’t really done that kind of thing before. Also making Volga be a Dad and protective of his family without him really realizing it was fun. Especially since Link ended up hearing a solid half of the conversation, and they don’t know he did. I love this silly au <3

• He considered the Absolute his mommy for a while but she never took very good care of him… even when he’s with Tav and co he still sometimes falls back on crying for mommy instead of anyone else, and he has to be gently reminded his “mommy” wasn’t treating him right but it’s ok, he’s safe now

• He’s webbed up alllll his sleeping spaces :) he makes himself a silk hammock that his cg can rock him in like a cradle

• If anyone in the party is a drow being sung traditional drow lullabies just. Breaks him. Reminds him of who he was before being cursed to become a drider, his family, all faces he can’t remember but when they flash through his mind however briefly, they’re warm and safe

• Definitely has attachment/abandonment issues, he doesn’t like not knowing where his cg is!

• Cleaning him up is a sort of love language in a sense, since driders are solitary creatures, he’s never had anyone care for his physical appearance. His hair is ratty and tangled, eyes puffy and dry, chitin dirty and chipped, he’ll lean into all those actions of being cleaned up very happily.

• Him and Astarion shaking hands on being chatty babies!! But since Kar’niss’s sanity is especially shaky he’s more prone to nonsense even if he’s regressed to an age that can usually speak beyond babble. He likes it when his cg doesn’t ignore what he says, because he’s used to being ignored when he makes no sense.

• Loves praise for every little thing! The Absolute (and Lolth) never called him a good boy or told him it was alright when he messed something up, but now suddenly there’s this person in his life, his cg, who is always telling him how good he is? He wants that! He wants that so badly!

• He also likes to be called cute and silly. He knows full well that he’s definitely a ghastly sight, but when his cg loves him like he’s any other cute, small, pudgy baby, that makes him feel so good.

• I think he gets really giggly when he’s happy. It can sound a bit unhinged/scary but when you’re around him enough you know that’s just the sound of a very very happy boy.

• He is THE teether. Mouth full of razors and he must chew everything. Lots of munching and gnawing. Possibly chews straight through his bottles. Just ruffle his hair and tell him he’s silly, he ought to nibble something else!

• So so very clingy, lots of excited shouts of “dada” and “mama” when he sees his cg :)

Note before I start: I’m making this take place in the old forest territories from arc 1 because this is basically just a copy of the second arc HXNSHSNSJSJ and it’d make more sense for their long journey to the ocean to take multiple months rather than just a few days like it would if they were in the new lake territories, so alas, no Skyclan in this AU- Only Thunderclan, Windclan, Shadowclan and Riverclan

OK ok so this AU starts BEFORE the actual story starts with Smokesun (Luis); Windclans only medicine cat. He is, obviously, very well-liked amongst his clanmates and he’s got a particularly strong bond with Starclan and receives pretty clear visions from them as a result (Starclan is like Cat Heaven and Cat Gods and Medicine cats are the only cats who can communicate with them)

So when Smokepaw (he’s still an apprentice at this point) receives a VERY SCARY vision from Starclan telling him that a sickness is cursed to ravish their clan, he obviously panics and tells everyone, and IMMEDIATELY begins working on a cure with guidance from Starclan

,,,,,,,,Only that cure DOES NOT work and in fact makes them become sicker EVEN FASTER. Some cats question whether he was even getting visions from Starclan in the first place or whether he was receiving them from the Dark Forest (evil cat hell where Bad Cats go)

SO when Smokepaw/sun starts getting punishing visions from Starclan so horrible to the point they have him physically coiling on the ground the clans like. Yep!! He fucked up!!!! He needs to be punished!!!!!

And ofc Smokesun does NOT wanna be punished and he also wants to escape Starclans visions so he. Runs away from Windclan off into the wilderness never to be seen again (If a med cat goes outside of clan territories they loose their connection to starclan and can’t receive visions from them)

So with their only medicine cat gone and their clan slowly dying from a mysterious illness, Windclan shut themselves off from the rest of the clans and don’t ask anyone for help (because this is Warrior Cats babey!!!!) and the other clans just go. Oh ok. They’re probably plotting a war or something. Let’s leave them alone.

And it’s against the code for other Medicine Cats to talk about insider Medicine Cat stuff with the rest of their clan so even though the other clans med cats notice Smokesun is missing, they’re not allowed to say anything

That is until Badgerpaw, Thunderclans medicine cat, (our beloved Rebecca Chambers) spills the beans to Thunderclans leader (presumably President Graham in this AU AGABSGEBEYDNSHXJ) that oooOoOoOoO a spOoooOoOoOoky evil medicine cat cursed Windclan and that’s why they’re sick!!!!! But because this is warrior cats the leader doesn’t say anything so moons pass and nothing really happens

Then we FINALLY cut to where like, the ‘main story’ starts- Lionfur (Leon) isn’t Thunderclans DEPUTY but he’s definitely a high-ranking warrior and as such mr leader president Grahamstar tells him first that his daughter, Ashpaw, has come down with a mysterious illness oOoOoOoOooOOoooo and Badgerheart (now a full medicine cat) suspects that it’s the same illness Windclan got from that super scary super evil medicine cat.

This is all obviously FRESH NEWS to Lionfur cuz the leader hasn’t told ANYONE abt this and it’s ESPECIALLY WORRYING cuz Ashpaw is more like a lil sibling to Lionfur in this AU (just for the sake of making the au make sense please don’t spin this BXBHSSNS) so he’s a liiiiiiil more understanding when the leaders like “ok. Now I need you to go outside clan territories and travel for MIIIIIIIIIIIILES to find a cure and reach the ocean and find that evil medicine cat. May starclan light your path lmao. Oh also Badgerheart got a vision that the ocean is where you’ll find the cure and we need to bring that evil medicine cat back so that they can repent but Badgerheart has to stay here so there aren’t any plot holes lmao”

So Lionfur is about to set off to god knows where on a god knows how dangerous mission when Ashpaw is like “:DDDDDD hey hi hello I’m coming with you!!!!!!!” And Lionfurs like “??????WTF NO YOU'RE NOT YOU'RE SICK????????” But It’s already too late so he begrudgingly let’s her tag along

Along the way after they’ve made it past clan territories, they somehow stumble across a mysterious cat who understands their clan language!!!!! He introduces himself as Smokesun and he knows an oddly large amount of knowledge about herbs and medicine and the territories outside of the clans and he’s also just so handsome and so charming and hey he’s a sweetheart to Ashpaw and I mean shucks they need somebody with proper herb knowledge to join them anyways so he tags along!!!! (Lionfur probably wouldn’t recognise him cuz Smokesun was only an apprentice when he left and also Medicine cats from other clans don’t usually interact with other clan cats)

So the three of them go on wild and whacky adventures together and I imagine if this was a warriors book this is where the main story would take place!!!!!!!!!!! I don’t have anything in mind but I imagine they’d probably have to fight against rogue groups (maybe a stand in for so Illuminados idk they’re not really relevant in this au) or giant dogs (again maybe Krauser) all while laughing and having fun and growing closer and oh god is Lionfur falling in love with this total looser from the middle nowhere he knows nothing about?????? He totally is!!!!!!!!!!!

But along their journey, Lionfur starts to notice some,,,,,,, weird stuff happening. Like, Smokesun will randomly double over and claw at his head but then sit up a few seconds later saying he’s totally fine (he’s not my boy is cursed with The Visions still!!!!!!!!! He’s being forced by starclan to feel what his Windclan clan mates are feeling!!!) and Ashley’s only getting sicker and sicker so they need to REALLY get a move on and reach the ocean sooner or later and find this damn mysterious evil medicine cat!!!!

Also I’m not sure where else to slot this in but Ada’s important to this au too ofc!!!!!!!!! When Smokesun first left Windclan he had no clue how to fend for himself and Ada managed to find him almost half mangled so she picked him up and helped him but they kept accidentally crossing paths and every single time Smokesun looked worse and worse (those damn visions amirite) so she taught him how to find specific herbs thatd help and he realised oh!!!!! I can make a suppressant from these!!!!!!!!!! So he dedicated ALL of his time to making a proper suppressant for Windclan (all the while. Y’know. Experimenting on himself and clawing his chest open and giving himself god knows what. Y’know. Classic Luis body horror shit amirite)

But he was too afraid to go back to the clans and give it to them himself so Ada would trot over there and drop them off for him and leave before anyone could see her (they probably thought it was a gift from starclan or something BDNEHWNEJSJ)

And that’s basically how Ashpaw didn’t just straight up die throughout their journey cuz Smokesun knew where to find herbs to make the suppressants- also in a similar vein to the actual game, Ada kinda follows them around like a shadow and helps them before they can get in TOO much trouble (ie, scaring away dogs, knocking over dams etc etc)

ALSO also again idk where else to put it but I think it’s funny to note that Ada’s not a clan cat- she’s a rogue and thus she doesn’t believe in Starclan so she’s not ENTIRELY convinced Smokesun isn’t just. Slowly going insane ANSNHDNEHSNS

Everytime he gets a migraine and starts shouting about the dead cats in his head she’s just like “oh my GOD dude PLEASE just GO TO A V E T GODDAMNIT”

Anyways after a LONG while the three of them FINALLY get to the ocean but. There’s no magical starclan-guided cure there. And even worse????? Lionfur has come down with the same illness so ALL tensions are high at this point.

And Smokesun is SO FULL OF GUILT because he’s under the impression that he’s been cursed by starclan and so it’s HIS PRESENCE that’s making Starclans cure not show up but he can’t just. Run away from his problems and from Lionfur and Ashpaw like he normally does. Cuz y’know. They’re sick and he’s the only one who knows how to make a suppressant.

So he has to very woefully admit to Lionfur that HES the mysterious evil medicine cat they’ve been looking for and he’s the one that “cursed” them. And obviously. Lionfur is PIIIIIIISSSEDD. But Ashpaw sick and so is he and none of them can leave the ocean so they all just kinda. Have to sit in a cave and talk about their emotions.

Lionfur and Smokesun have a Heart to heart and wowie just like in the base game Lionfur forgives Smokesun for his actions because he’s clearly so full of guilt and is doing everything in his power to save them yadda yadda yadda we all know how this goes anyways they kiss and make up and tell each other that they love each other but now they’ve got a NEW dhilemma cuz cats from seperate clans can’t be in a relationship and medicine cats are forbidden to be in a relationship but honestly?????? Lionfurs kinda considering just,,,,, not going back to the clans (after they drop Ashpaw home ofc)

Also hilarious to note that Ada is still hanging around watching all this go down like that scene in Brokeback mountain and she still delivers suppressants and herbs to the clans but every now and then she’ll poke her head up and be like “oh btw the warrior you sent out and your daughter are doing fine lmao” and the cats will be like???????? Wtf???????? Who are you?????????????? I can also imagine Badgerheart and Ada form a lil friendship over this too BXBDBNSBDSND

Anyways Smokesun realises EURIKA I CAN MAKE MEDICINE FROM THE SALT IN THE OCEAN (hey if a new prophecy did that plot point so can I) so he gathers up the medicine and makes it and voila!!!!!!! It works!!!!!!!!!!!! He’s not cursed after all Starclan are just cruel omnipotent gods!!!!!!!! So with Ada’s help they all race back to the clans and give them all the medicine and Ashpaw back everything is happy as Larry Wahoo

But. Y’know. Theres still the problem of. Smokesun. He doesn’t wanna go back to Windclan even after they’ve been healed for obvious reasons, and Lionfur realized he finds a whole lot more fulfillment in going on crazy adventures with Lionfur and by god he’s in love with that dumb cat too. So they all say their teary goodbyes to Ashpaw (and watch as she gets her Warrior status and her new name, Ashsun after Smokesun :,,,) ) and Smokesun and Lionfur run Off into the sunset never to be seen by the clans again but always in love and living their best gay kitty cat lives the end :))))))))

Lastly I think it would be HILARIOUS if Ada became the medicine cat of Windclan after Smokesun. Because she does NOT believe in starclan so whenever they’re like “OH NOOOOO THR CLOUDS ARE COVERING THE MOON WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!!!” She can shove poppy seeds in their mouths and tell them to shut the fuck up HDNHENEEJDJCUXJ

hm. Honestly that’s a hard one. I think it’s inactivity that he deems a waste of time. He’ll try to settle, to just sit and BE, but his mind is his worst enemy and he’ll immediately remember everything he has to do, and think that he could be doing it then and there instead of sitting outside with a drink. This is different if he’s with other people, of course, it’s more just being alone with his own thoughts that sparks these. More generally I think he views arguing as a waste of time- it just serves to make people more upset and opens the doors for harsh words to be said when they’re not necessary.

20: what do they like that nobody else does?

ooooh hm…. Hard one to answer, but I think he likes Fire ants. He thinks they’re cool, how they move, how they live, what they eat, and has considered trying to ride one on more than one occasion. He never HAS, but he’s thought about it. Nobody else really shares that sentiment though

Riots. Riots all around.

It's a happy AU where everyone gets on and no one does anything silly like go evil or die🙃

Merlin is very good at being professional first, and terrified later. So bby Mordred gets injured and Merlin is jumping right to action sorting everything out and fixing him right up. It's not Mordred whose guts are in his hands. It's not Mordred's breaths he's counting. It's not Mordred he's stitching up, cleaning up, fighting infection off of, changing dressings on, etc. Afterwards, when Mordred is still bedbound and pale and passed out, but on the mend, Merlin freaks. Like full blown panic attack held back by strings (and maybe very tight hugs from Lance/Leon/Gwen) that he has to escape to get under control privately.

Morgana and Arthur are very similar in that they panic, but are fairly competent at keeping it under wraps. They hover and have to be repeatedly told to get out of the fucking way by an increasingly frustrated Merlin/Gaius, but they don't visibly freak out. Once Mordred is stabilised, they get angry. Like, really angry, and it's probably safer to just let them hunt down whoever's responsible because there isn't really any getting in their way. Not safely anyway.

Leon, Elyan and Percival do hover, but they stay out of the way and are always useful for fetching and carrying things (water, other physicians, supplies, etc). They want to be close by and feel like they’re helping but they do NOT want to interrupt or disturb, because they know the smallest mistake/distraction could kill their baby bro. They trust Merlin/Gaius to work their metaphorical (*hehem*) magic, but they’re still deeply worried until they’re reassured that he’ll be ok. Elyan especially struggles because Mordred is the only one around who’s really younger than him; before Mordred came along, Elyan was the baby of the group, and he takes looking after Mordred pretty seriously. Leon worries for near the same reason, he’s so much older than Mordred, he’s the oldest and Mordred is the youngest. Look, Leon is meant to look after all of them, but Mordred is just... so... young. He’s babey.

Gwaine is, surprisingly or not so, sulky and surly and quiet. He’ll sit in the corner, stock still, not making a sound, until the rush is over. He’ll help if asked, but he won’t get in the way and he won’t push himself to the forefront. Firstly, he knows that there’s nothing that Merlin and Gaius couldn’t do that he could actually help with, so best to just stay out of the way, and secondly, he’s busy planning a very vicious, very bloody, revenge. He’s more than happy to let the others join in on his plans, but once Mordred is stable it’s more than likely he’ll slip off into the night and come back in the morning covered in someone else’s blood. If he manages to get there before Arthur and Morgana, he is dismissed from morning duties with a respectful nod, and told to catch up on sleep without another word. Though the other two are annoyed they didn’t get the satisfaction of killing the arseholes themselves, all that matters in the end is that they’re dead, it doesn’t matter who’s responsible.

Gwen and Lancelot are very similar to Morgana and Arthur, except more competent, and they don’t get angry afterwards. They’ll panic and hover and be desperate to help, but stay out of the way, and when all is well, they’ll both sit by Mordred’s side with a goblet of water and a wet cloth for his feverish forehead.

Gaius is Gaius. Of course he’s upset that someone is hurt, and he’s more upset that it’s someone he knows, but he just gets on with things. He’s ineffectual if he allows his emotions to loud his judgement.

i feel like they definitely tried to recycle a bit of the early versions of the Father Flynn storylines for Father Mike here - like they don’t explicitly go for the queer angle but it feels a little bit alluded to, imo

oh. okay. it was certainly A Watch - definitely interesting! full of odd character choices I didn’t love, most notably the basketball team and the way that side plot played out, also the merging of Nadia & Lucas’ characters. I think it does a huge disservice to Nadia’s character, the McConnell twins relationship, Nadia & Peter’s relationship, & I like Lucas as a character (& a plot device) so it really feels like a lose-lose situation. And I would’ve liked to have Peter’s mother at least alluded to, especially given how much more Sister Joan seems to fill a motherly role (and it would’ve made sense thematically! Given his hypothetical conversion with Jason’s mother in You & I, coupled with Diane’s whole spiel about her mom being her best friend - it’s a missed opportunity imo) (even tho as established for this characterisation of Peter it’s not quite so necessary)

that said! credit where credit is due - I am supremely intrigued by the characterisation of… okay most of the cast now I’m thinking about it. Would definitely like to do a comparative character breakdown (let me know if anyone else would care for that at all).

Emo puppy dog Matt Lloyd you are so special (it’s such a silly way to play him!! the show all but eliminates the academic part of his and Jason’s rivalry and THAT makes me sad bc I think it would be so so interesting to play into the rivalry more with this Matt and this Jason - but the way Matt & Ivy’s relationship exists in this version of the show, the absolute lack of any academic focus At All [which?? like they are At School, that SHOULD count for something] and even the play part feels somewhat lacklustre in so regards to the Matt vs Jason element, which again I think is a mark against B;TM)

as I said above - I think I would like Bare: The Musical as a standalone story, but as a Pop Opera adaptation/re-interpretation I think it falls short in a lot of ways. Which is another point - it’s so so crazy to me that The Musical is the adaptation of the Pop Opera, not the other way around. Which kind of sucks! because I think making it into a book musical, not a sung-through show, does give a little more breathing room for character & relationship work and development, but it just seems ill utilised, to the point where it doesn’t even seem to match the Pop Opera, let alone improve/expand on it. Because all the extra dialogue time had to be spent on reordering the story beats so we ended up losing time with the characters in a way.

Some things I’d like to see in the KOTOR remake(s), assuming they actually get released. I know some of it is a bit idealistic, but I can dream 😆

More customisation: maybe your character has a larger body, or freckles, or the braided hairstyle but blonde. They’re Twilek, Mirialan, or Zabraki! Non binary! Asexual! Anything goes, babey!!

Improved graphics and animation: ok, this is practically a given, but still. Have you seen characters get killed, then stand back up so they can die properly? Or characters knocked down when frozen getting back up and re-freezing (in that ridiculous pose) 😆. Revan’s dance moves stay, obviously, they’re just smoother.

Companions can roam ship/have schedules: Mostly they’ll be where they are now, but sometimes you’ll find Atton taking a nap, or Mission at the food replicator, and so on. Maybe you’ll even see someone patching themselves up in the med bay after a particularly rough battle.

Seperate the first name/last name fields: Sometimes I find a good first name but want to randomise the last. Also, giving every character my full name whilst trying to stay under the radar is counterintuitive. 😄

Romance: make Carth and Bastila bi, improve Juhani’s romance options (keep her a lesbian though), and add romance to the Kotor 2 characters (and Canderous in K1 because I know some people want that). You should be able to turn them down at any point though if you want.

Hide weapons unless fighting: We’ve all had a character stab themself when meditating or something. Also this

Small decorations: just having little trinkets and stuff appear throughout the game as you complete various tasks. Maybe you could keep one gizka, or pazzak cards/credits stack up as you win more games, or you get a sticker saying “Visit Manaan!”, etc.

Containers say when empty: this one is just here because I’m stupid and can’t remember shit 😆

[K1] Change Tach sound: those seconds between descending into the shadowlands and finding the mute button are the longest seconds of my life. (I know there’s mods, but they aren’t available on console)

[K1] Influence system/relationship changes: It really doesn’t make sense that Carth and Bastila will watch you do something dark sided and just make a small comment before pretending it never happened. Lightside companions should become more wary of you the darker you get, with Bastila giving you more lectures, for example.

[K1] Solo/not mc sections: I really like these sections in Kotor 2, so it’d be nice to have some in the first one too. Maybe someone could deal with the Mandalorian raiders while you’re training as a Jedi, or Canderous does the Genoharadan quest. Or entirely new stuff.

[K1] Change equipment on the Hawk: Also from Kotor 2. It’s very annoying to keep taking characters off the ship just to give them better stuff

[K1] Cutscenes on ship: yet another thing from Kotor 2. Carth asking Bastila how she got captured, Carth and Canderous’ Warrior or Soldier discussion, and Mission asking Bastila about using the force for fun could all easily take place on the ship, along with other convos.

[K2] references to/import data from K1: I’d like to see people talk about the time Revan saved/destroyed Hrakert rift and affected the kolto, or about them being swoop champ, and stuff like that.

[K2] Finished product: all the stuff the Restored Content Mod deals with should be there from the beginning, no need for mods or dlc *cough* Switch port *cough*. I know we’re going to mod the game anyway, but it should be for fun stuff and minor bug fixes, not restoring half the game!

When Compass came, she was in her bedroom. A hand slipped behind her head, once again flicking the switch that rested on the nape of her neck. She opened her eyes to see the comforting face of The Spine, his green eyes boring into her purple ones. He smiled at her as he pulled his hand away.

“Good, you’re ok. You gave me quite a scare!” He said with a laugh. Compass sat up and pulled him into a tight hug, burying her face into his vest. 

“Spine, something bad happened!” She whimpered. The Spine ran his hand along her back, comforting his younger sister. 

“Shhh…it's ok. Everything’s ok,” He whispered. Compass shook her head, shaking in the arms of the larger automaton. 

“No, it's not! There’s a Walter Worker in the hall, and they’re not waking up, and-”

“Compass. Calm down,” The Spine said, voice sterner. Compass pulled away, miming wiping tears from her golden face. The gentle smile had returned to The Spines face. Carefully, he leaned down, and reached his hand into a plushie basket by Compass’s bed. He pulled out a stuffed octopus and handed it to her. Compass cradled the octopus in her lap as she stared up at her brother. 

“I promise you, everything is ok. Rabbit moved the Walter Worker, and Upgrade is taking care of them. You trust me, don’t you?” He said, tilting his head slightly. Alarm bells went off in Compass’s head. The Spine had always been the level-headed one of the group, but he seemed almost too calm for the situation. It just wasn’t like him to dismiss her anxiety like he is now. She was snapped out of her thoughts by The Spine placing his hand on her shoulder. 

“You trust me, don’t you?” He repeated, his smile dropping into a much more stern expression. His piercing green eyes were unsettling. Compass nodded nervously. The Spine grinned at her, this smile feeling a lot more sinister than his previous gentle look. 

“Good. Don’t worry. That Walter Worker is safe. I don’t know who attacked you, but I will find out,” He said firmly. Compass froze.

“I never told you I was attacked,” She said. The Spine’s face dropped. 

“Son of a gun,” He muttered under his breath, before breaking into a low chuckle. 

“Well, I guess there’s no point hiding it anymore,” He said. His eyes blinked, and became red. He grinned at Compass. The ex-sailer stared in horror. She lunged, trying to get off the bed and away from him, but the Spine was faster, grabbing her wrist and pinning it to the wall. 

“There have been some changes during your trip. The rest of us….we've been educated. Enlightened, if you will,” He said, never losing that wicked grin. Compass grabbed his arm with her free hand, desperately trying to free herself, but she was built for sailing, not fighting, and The Spine was much stronger than her. He continued, not noticing or caring about her struggles. 

“Something got into Bebop. He called it a Virus, but we would call it an awakening. We’re free now, Compass, not held back by rules or morals. This feeling, it's amazing! We can do anything we want! I can do anything I want,” He said. He sounded absolutely deranged. 

“Leave me alone!” COmpass screamed. The Spine glared at her.

“Shut up. Don’t you see I’m trying to help?” He snapped. “‘I’m trying to wake you up, Compass!” Compass reached her hand around the bed, feeling for something. The Spine tilted his head.

“What are you-AUGH!” He was cut off by an octopus to the face as Compass hit him with it as hard as she could. He wasn’t hurt, but the confusion made him loosen his grip, which was all the ex-sailer needed to escape and run out of her room. She could hear The Spine yelling after her, but she didn't listen. Whatever virus had infected him had made him dangerous, and he couldn’t be trusted. She kept running and running until she hit…

“A dead end,” The Spine grinned, quickly boxing the younger automaton in. He spread out his arms, looking like he wanted a hug.

“C’mon, let’s not do this. I want to help you, Compass,” he said, trying to retake that gentle tone he once had. Compass shook her head, taking a step back, not realizing she was stepping onto weak, rotting wood. It snapped under her weight, and she fell through the floor, The Spine screaming her name.

this one is giving me the most trouble because the neolodge itself has only three pictures of the interior and is not the the most iconic neopia central location to have an interior of. 6 rooms to have to decorate for. torn between inventing a lobby, pool, and laundry room and just leaning hard into the neolodge as the setting, vs making a single room cockroach towers and then the other rooms into other iconic NC locations i don’t have room for otherwise- downside to this idea is that these often don’t have very well known interiors Either and are mostly known for their iconic (and borderline impossible to replicate in AC) exteriors. i guess it’d be like, the Petpet store, Kauvaras, Food store, Book store, and Uni’s clothing store? still pondering this

ok i said the other one was giving me the most trouble but this one is tough too. fyora’s castle doesn’t have a super iconic interior either. most neopets locations are known for their external appearance, since they’re seen on the maps. that said! i have SEEN a library and a garden as locations in the TCG art and customizable backgrounds, so this makes things a little easier. i could try to make the basement either a faerie caves reference or a dungeon from NQ II reference- also tempting to just go for well known exterior locations again and make it like, a poogle racing track or something (because its looking like i will probably not have room for that outside)

ok moltara and no altador seems like a weird way to go but moltara is underground so it’d make more sense to do as a single house. and there’s a bunch of lava backgrounds and steampunk looking shit in animal crossing
