Hospital for souls — Tokyo nights.
Rated: SFW
Author note: Man, this one took me ages to write. And I don't even know how I could write this much for the second chapter, this is about 3,2k words. I'm tired because I decided to change lots of things in this chapter and I hope you all like it. Also, feedbacks are much appreciated!
Warnings: This chapter contains cursing, swearing, graphic descriptions of blood, violence and surgical procedures (Kind of inaccurate but only for writting purposes. Don't do it at home, kids). Also, there are slight mentions of anxiety, OCD and PTSD.
Enjoy the reading!
II — Tokyo nights
Previous || Next
You felt anxious.
Everytime you walked through Itachiyama halls, the hairs in your nape would stand and your skin, prickle in fear; a bitter taste would take over your mouth because everything was too much.
"Look, you don't have to worry. Itachiyama wouldn't dare to lay a hand on you because it would mean war." The memory of Suna's voice did nothing to soothe your nerves.
You knew that Inarizaki did not care. If anything, Itachiyama harming you would be like killing two birds with a stone: the Miya would get rid of your existence and then, have a excuse to go after your husband. "They know the twins' intentions, you know. It's not like Sakusa is dumb. Being honest, the guy is the most cautious man I ever saw" you recalled Suna saying it in your wedding's eve.
But one month after the deal, you still felt suffocated.
You opted to lay low and don't wander around the house; Sakusa's men were still suspicious of you and kept sending nasty glares in your direction whenever they saw you.
Since you weren't allowed to work anymore, boredom was killing you. At least, the maids were nice enough — or just too afraid to go against the lady's will — and let you do as you pleased. You then took over some house chores to busy yourself.
Cleaning, tidying and baking.
Sometimes gardening when you needed some fresh air.
"What a shame for Oyabun-sama, his lady is lowering herself to the peasants' level" you would hear some gossip here and there. Not that you cared, though.
"Sakusa-sama" you heard the housekeeper calling, the new name still foreign to your ears.
"Kaede-san? Do you need something?" The old woman wearing a green hakama stood in front of you, accompanied by a girl with dark blond hair.
"This is Kuribayashi Runa, the new maid working here" she said presenting the young woman by her side. The latter politely bowed at you.
"New maid? Why?"
"I'm afraid it's not appropriated the lady take care of house chores. These are strict orders from Komori-sama" her tone was dry. Kaede was never hostile towards you, but you could tell she wasn't fond of your presence either. "Also, remember you're having lunch with oyabun-sama today"
You released a shaky breath, dismissing their presence.
Why yakuza was taking even the smallest things from you?
Prying to the clock on the nightstand, you realized it was past noon and the lunch hasn't been served yet. Sakusa didn't show up either.
After being destitute of your duties, you went for a shower and killed time by reading in your bedroom.
Did something happen? You wondered.
Punctuality was something very fancied in this household and everything inside the mansion functioned like clockwork.
But how come Sakusa didn't show up yet? Why the food isn't set?
"[Name]" The door to your bedroom was open without ceremony, Komori's voice sounding harsh when he called you. The look on his face wasn't amicable either. "Sakusa wants to see you. Now."
The brown haired male did not spare you another glance, turning his back to you. You followed the tall man in an auto-pilot mode, already dreading whatever was going on.
The Kobun was taking you to Sakusa's office.
The large doors always made you feel unsettled; you never were there before. Being called to this room sent shivers down your spine.
Komori knocked the door only to the faint voice of your husband acknowledge your presence. Getting in, you were stunned. The whole mansion held a modern architecture with a minimalist design, and this room was true to Itachiyama's style.
The walls were pristine white and the floorboards were dark and shiny. The furniture held the impersonal style your husband seemed to appreciate and was clean to the eyes. Everything millimetrically positioned, aesthetically appealing.
By the glass wall, Sakusa stood proud. His back facing you, body clad in a black suit. The way he admired the stunning land through the windows held a power you never saw before.
Right now, he looked like a god rulling his own creation.
"Komori, go" his stone cold voice ordered the other male. The kobun did as he was told, leaving you two in this sinister room.
"I don't know if you are too brave ou just too dumb" he didn't turn to face you. The cold tone boomed loud within your ears and you felt cornered.
Forget the god thing. The man in front of you was the demon himself.
"What do you mean?" You asked, brows furrowing when suddenly, his enraged features loomed over you, even from afar.
"Don't fucking play dumb. I've warned you to stay out of my way" his menacing stare made the breath hitch in your throat "Where is the fucking folder?"
"I don't know what are you talking about!" You meekly replied, seeing his body growing close to yours.
"Thats it. You have a death wish." He merely stated "You're the only enemy inside this fucking house"
Without knowing what was going on, you didn't stand a chance to defend yourself. You tried opening your mouth in protest but your brain didn't come up with anything.
"Listen. I don't have the time to play whatever game you and those brothers of yours are planning." Sakusa scowled "In the first opportunity, you get to screw up. Fascinating."
"I don't even know what you're talking about" the cry left your mouth and your body trembled. The man before you grimaced at your outburst. He let out an exasperated breath, still trying to keep his cool.
"Do you expect me to believe you? Fine, I'll play along, then" He sat at the imposing chair behind his desk "The manila folder that was on this desk was stolen. You're the only one inside this house who has reasons to take it."
"It wasn't me! I never entered this room before!" You retorted, anxiety crawling in your skin. He fished his cellphone from his pockets, reading whatever on his screen
"Can't be proven, though it looks like we didn't find anything in your stuff–"
"Wait! You fucking messed with my things?" You cut him off in rage, observing him reaching over for a flask on the wooden surface.
"Well, you messed with mine first." He said while rubbing some hand sanitizer on his palms.
You rolled your eyes at his antics.
"Whatever" and then turned to leave.
"Where are you going?" The sarcastic voice filled your ears, making your steps to halt "As much as I despise it, you won't be out of my sight anytime soon"
God, You trully hated it here.
It was nighttime and true to his words, neither Sakusa nor Komori left you alone for the whole day.
Their presence was unnerving, to say the least, and everytime they talked to each other, you body went stiff.
Their speech wasn't explicit as you thought it would be. Both of them treated the matter as if they were making normal business instead of some yakuza stuff.
It didn't sound violent.
But you knew better.
"Have Fukuroudani made contact yet?" The Oyabun asked.
"Yes. Konoha told me they will be waiting by eleven" Komori peered at his watch "One hour to go. We should get going, then"
Sakusa turned his attention to you.
"Go get changed. We're leaving in ten minutes."
You did as you were told; black would do, you decided. Grabbing a wool coat and a satin scarf, you were ready to go.
Why the hell Tokyo nights were so cold at this time of year?
In the living room, Sakusa and Komori were waiting for you.
"Man, bringing [Name] along will be a pain" the brown haired male said while stretching.
"The stolen docs were about this meeting. We gotta bring her along if Inarizaki tries to do something" The taller one reasoned.
"Ah shit, this is so fucked up. I dont know how you agreed to it" Komori lamented.
Being honest, neither Sakusa did.
"Why do I have to tag along?" Your voice startled them. Your husband scowled at you while Komori opened the front door, both males ignoring your question.
A sleek black car was waiting for you three. Komori took the driver seat and Sakusa sat on passenger's side. You found comfort in the beige leather of the backseat, appreciating the warmth provided by the air conditioned.
"Shouldn't we bring more men with us?" The Kobun asked.
"There's a back up car in downtown. They can reach us in no time if something comes up" Sakusa said while covering his face with a mask "Also, I doubt someone would dare to mess with both Fukurodani and Itachiyama" He spared a glance at you through the rearview mirror.
You sighed. Anxiety didn't let you be for the whole day and now, fear was taking its toll on you.
With your temple resting on the window, you observed the city lights.
You loved Tokyo and how bright it was, although, you loved the suburbs even more; the industrial aesthetic and the narrow streets brought you the comfort you didn't feel in the last three months.
You lived here for your whole life, after all.
It wasn't a surprise when you spotted the building you used to live in.
A surge of homesickness found its place in your guts and your chest constricted in longing.
The drive lasted five more minutes before Komori parked the car by a hangar. When you lived in this neighbourhood, the place was deem abandoned with its vandalized walls and rusty gates. But inside there, you found our the interior was really neat, proving you wrong.
"Sakusa-san, Komori-san!" A blonde male came into view, eyeing you with wariness. "I see you brought your lady tonight. It's a pleasure having you here, miss" the indifferent tone of his voice said otherwise, tough.
You merely noded at him while the heads of Itachiyama greeted the man.
"Shall we start, then?"The blond asked before opening a door to your right. You felt unsettled knowing they wouldn't want your presence there.
"As you wish, Konoha-san" was all Sakusa said while a woman appeared out of nowhere.
"I'm afraid your wife would be pretty bored in our meeting. Yukie here will keep her company for the time being." The man Konoha pointed at the brunette with short hair. Sakusa sent you a hard stare before entering the room.
You both sat on some wooden boxes filled with god knows what. You eyes wandered through the hole place, trying to find something entertaining.
The woman hadn't said anything for a whole eternity before breaking the silence.
"So, Miya-san, huh?" The way she said the damned name tickled you off.
"I'm no Miya"
"Yeah, I know. I've heard of you" Yukie chuckled, looking at you with despise. You cocked a brow ate her.
"Sure you did" She was about to retort before the door was open again.
"Well, it's always a pleasure to make business with Itachiyama. We will see you off, then" Konoha said before reaching for the exit.
It was long past midnight when the meeting ended. The five of you were by the gates, Konoha and Komori doing some chit-chat, when four people appeared out of nowhere, knives in their hands.
"Ara, ara. look at these yakuza big shots" A man with an undercut said, fidgeting with the blade between his fingers. In your periferic vision you saw Yukie running back to the hangar and the three men by your side reaching for the guns by their hips.
Among the other four, a figure seemed familiar to you.
"Kuribayashi Runa" The name left your lips in a whisper. The female let out a mocking laugh and Sakusa frowned at you.
"Explain" Your husband immediatelly demanded, grimacing.
"She is the new maid working in your house. Today was her first day." Runa scoffed at your reply.
"Do I look like a maid to you, bitch?" And then, everything went into slow motion.
The woman came in your direction, holding the knife high in the air whilst you stepped backwards, being cornered by the gate.
You saw the blade glinting under the street lights and saw it aiming for your chest.
But it never came.
A hand pushed you downwards and you fell to the ground along a clattering sound. Sakusa's shadow loomed over you, trying to evade the knife.
By your left, you saw Konoha and Komori fighting the other guys, their guns useless in a hand-to-hand fight.
The adrenaline rushed through your bloodstream, your mind going frantic. It felt like one of those life or death situations you faced in the surgery room.
How can I save someone's life right now?
You saw Sakusa's pistol laying on the ground next to you. He and the woman were a couple of inches from your body.
You knew what you had to do.
With your leg reaching forward, you made her trip. The knife she held was kicked away by your husband.
"Sakusa! Watch out for Komori!" And you threw the gun at him.
A second too late, the bang echoed and an agonizing scream ripped through the night.
By your left, Runa and two of the guys were already running away.
The man Komori fought collapsed to the ground clutching his leg and cursing under his breath.
But the most disturbing sight was the way Komori held his arm, whimpering and cursing while his right hand clutched the knife's handle.
The blade tore his flesh and crossed the limb right next to its joint, in a weird angle.
Yukie came back, carrying a rope and a pistol.
"I sent some of our men to their direction." She said while helping Konoha to restrain the guy who attacked you.
"What the fuck you guys want?" The blond asked before kicking the man in his guts. The latter spat blood, giving a crooked smile at Konoha.
"Johzenji is coming" Was all he said before passing out.
"Yukie, carry him to the basement." He ordered "Since it happened on our territory, we will be investigating the incident. We count with Itachiyama's cooperation and will keep you updated" Konoha bowed at Sakusa, before rushing back to the building.
Komori was still on his knees, head hanging low. A grunt went past his lips and you knew what he was doing.
"Komori! Don't!" But again your shout came too late and the man ripped the knife away from his limb. Blood rushed through his fingers and dampened the suit he wore. "Fuck" you rushed to his side, Sakusa's features going livid.
"We gotta take him to a hospital" you said.
"No!" Komori croaked out, getting a hold of your arm. You knew what he meant, but you also knew what could definetely happen if he ignored the situation.
Sakusa was frozen in front of you two, unsure of what to do. You took a deep breath, mustering up all the courage you had.
"You have to trust me, then" you held the brown haired male by his torso and gave Sakusa a determined glare.
The oyabun noded at you and it was all the assurance you needed before ripping out Komori's blazer and transforming your scarf into a tourniquet.
In your old apartment, you ushered the two males inside, taking them both to your kitchen.
Sakusa sat the Kobun in a chair while you went to another room. A minute later, you brought two metallic cases, some flasks and a first aid box.
In the cupboards you took a flask of alcohol and squeezed it to the table, wipping it with some gauzes.
Positioning Komori's arm over the wooden surface, you sterilized his wounds with povidone and then turned your attention to Sakusa.
"I'll start it now" before proceeding to the sink. Sakusa admired the movements you made while washing your hands "I need you to do the same" and he complied.
The male helped you to put the gloves and mask on and to set your instruments over the table.
Looking at Komori, you realized he passed out in spite of the pain. The blood loss wasn't huge, but you did not knew why he fell unconcious.
You prepared two syringes of anesthesics. Sakusa sent you a weird glare, brows furrowing at you.
"Don't look at me like this. I'm a surgeon you know" and then you did the infusion. "Its not that weird if I have some hospital shit at home".
You opened the cut with a scalpel. Scrutinizing at the wound, you saw the artery was hit.
"Thank god." You let out a breath of relief, realizing the damage was little. It didn't need an anastomosis, so some stiches would do. "The ulnar artery was hit but it won't be too hard to fix. Although, I can't tell if there's a nerve damage" and you started to close the vessel's lesion.
You observed if there was any muscle or tendon damages and proceeded to suture the gashes, making sure the procedure was well done. You then patched it up and imobilized the limb with a makeshift splint, before undoning the tourniquet.
"Let's take him to my bedroom" With that, you both carried the unconcious man to your bed. "I need to check him overnight and– Shit! Your face!" It was just now you realized he had a gash on his cheek.
Sakusa flinched, feeling the blood drying over his skin and dampening the mask he used. He removed the cloth and observed the cut with the front camera of his phone. He frowned at the sight.
"It can get an infection and leave a nasty scar. Do you want me to patch it up?" You offered after checking Komori's blood pressure and his heartbeat.
A please left his lips in a whisper.
You both went back to the kitchen and you used a new set of tools. Holding his face between your gloved hands, you admired his facial features.
Sakusa was pretty.
Almost ethereal with his thin nose, almond eyes and thick brows. In addition, te two moles on his forehead complimented his beauty.
You snapped out of your reverie, getting to work.
"Finished. This kind of suture won't leave a visible scar" you said cutting the thread and reinforcing the stitch with tape.
Your finger lingered a bit longer on the apple of his cheek. Sakusa grabbed your hand and held it for a while before getting away from you and settling himself on your couch. You ignored the ghost of his touch on your skin and went back to check on Komori.
That night, Sakusa realized that no one ever handled him with such care, as if he was made of fine china.
I like that touch, he decided.

SFW Alphabet - Prince Lear
A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)
Lear isn’t very affectionate. Growing up in a strict household and shipped off to a boarding school has made his cold and unable to properly show emotions. The way he does show affection is tense. Once he does ease up, his affection is more apparent. He’ll inch his hand over to you and grab yours, eyes looking the other direction; it’s hugs that are too tight and hands that linger on your back, and soft fingertips that trace your face. Farther into the relationship, he’s a lot needier for affection. He’ll be draped on you, legs on top of his or ours. He’s touch starved and seeking out your warmth.
B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)
Friendship would start with either fashion or quippy remarks. He can appreciate someone who has a good taste in fashion and/or someone who is able to snap at him and keep him levelheaded.
He’s the type of best friend were he talks smack about others and is just a little shit, a devious grin and hand covering mouth as he criticizes others. He’s very adamant about keeping you as a friend so it’s a lot of shopping and gifts.
C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)
After the touch rejection phase phases out, he’s very much a cuddler. He wants to be wrapped up in your arms and hear about your day. He wants to bask in your warmth and feel your hands stroke his hair. He’s very often the little spoon. He likes to be held and nuzzle into you.
D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)
He wouldn’t mind to settle down. It isn’t constantly in his mind but if he were ever to become a father, he would spoil the heck out of that child. He would like to get married one day, wake up next to someone and just gaze at them in bed and fiddle with a ring whenever he’s anxious.
He is an excellent cook and cleaner. He knows how to work his way around a kitchen and prefers to prepare his own meals. He doesn’t like a dirty environment so his things are neat and tidy, everything where it belongs and papers in a neat stack.
E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)
He’s not good at saying goodbye. It leaves him with a sick feeling and tears that sear his skin. Breakups aren’t done face to face, through a message is how he works. It’s a simple message that just says that he’s breaking up with you and he spends the next month shopping and tossing things into the bin.
F = Fiancé(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)
Commitment makes him anxious. It shakes him to his very core and leaves a sour taste on his tongue. He knows that it all stems from his relationship with his family and that it’s one of the reasons why commitment deters him away and he can’t really dwell on it for too long or else he’ll spiral. That being said, he will ask for your hand in marriage but it’s going to be a long wait.
G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)
He’s fragile and will treat you as such. He’ll fret over you, he tries to be soft with his touches, only squeezing back when you do, cooing and pecking soft kisses to you. He doesn’t push too hard and only will when he knows you have to let out steam.
H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)
He isn’t used to hugs so when you start to throw them his way, he’s stiff and unsure of what to with his arms. Afterwards, his hugs and tight and lingering, holding onto you like you’re a security blanket. He doesn’t want to let go and the way his hands grip your shirt says it all.
I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)
It takes a long time for his guard to lower and actually say that word. He’s thrown it out before but it’s always been to inanimate objects. The first time he ever said it was when he thought you asleep and the moonlight was casting a soft glow around you.
J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)
He has a low sense of self-worth and because of that he gets easily jealous, thinking that you’ll leave him to be with someone more down to earth. When he wants to make himself known that you two are together, he’ll grip your hand and just start talking to you, completely cutting off the other person and dragging you away.
K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)
Kisses with Prince Lear are soft and hesitant, lips too nervous to touch your skin, that brush over yours for a second too long before they finally kiss you. He enjoys kissing you on the outline of your jaw and he enjoys to be kissed on his temple and the palm of his hand.
L = Little ones (How are they around children?)
He’s oddly really good around children. They like seeing his flashy clothes and his loud personality makes kids just go buck wild in his presence, wanting to scream to match his personality. He likes being around kids because they’re just so excitable and in awe of everything- it’s a real good ego boost.
M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)
It’s lazy mornings where you both lay in bed twenty minutes after you’ve woken up, where you stretch and whine as your bones pop and feeling comes back to your legs. Mornings where he doesn’t want to let go.
N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)
It’s late nights where you watch him do his skincare routine and often join him. Late nights where you both recount your day and bask in the silence.
O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)
He won’t reveal information about himself until you’re deep into the relationship. Sometimes he says things by accident, mentioning it offhandedly as you’re eating cereal. Other times it’s late at night where he’s whispering to you his story, his voice full of emotions and hands clenched tight to prevent shaking.
P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)
He has a very thin patience but he can hide his anger well. He tries to be patient, biting on his tongue and looking the other way but his blood will boil and red crescent marks will decorate his palm.
Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)
He has an excellent memory. He remembers everything that you like, everything that you dislike, completely random facts that you forgot that you even mentioned.
R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)
His favorite moment in the relationship is your late night talks when the darkness overtakes the room and you can only feel him. The dark makes him feel more secured. You can’t see the tears that roll down his cheeks when he talks about his mother and father and that makes him feel safer, more in control.
S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)
He’s very protective. He believes that you can protect yourself, but he won’t be the one to stand down, he’ll spit words of venom and take you away from the scene. He won’t ever admit it, but he likes being protected. He likes knowing that someone loves him enough to defend him.
T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)
He tries so much with every special holiday. He gives it his all and always tries to one-up himself every year. It all feels like it’s too much and it’s a bit suffocating but it feels nice to know that you’re wanted.
U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)
He can mask his feelings well enough that you won’t know what he’s feeling until it’s too late. He doesn’t want you to see him in a vulnerable state, he doesn’t want you to see him as weak so he’ll scowl and act like emotionless until he’s throwing a tantrum.
V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)
He is extremely vain. He watches what he eats, has an entire skincare routine that he follows religiously. He needs to appear as if he is in control- that he is above others. He has to look the part of a prince.
W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)
He would feel incomplete without you. He’s gotten attached and if you were to ever leave him, there would be a hole in his chest that he would desperately try to fill even if said task were impossible. He cares for you so much that the thought of you leaving him fills him with pain.
X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)
He’s oddly fascinated with true crime. It chills him to the bone and he’ll stay up at night thinking about the crime and then he can’t sleep but he really likes them. It’s fascinating hearing people talk about stuff like that and do the amount of research to get all the facts correct.
Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)
In general and in a relationship, he doesn’t like a person without manners. He doesn’t mind if you show your claws every once in a while but he does like a bit of class. He comes from a high society where he was surrounded by silver and gold, where elbows where allowed on the table and eating with your hands was frowned upon. He tries not to let it bother him as much as it used to, but he will turn up his nose at lack of manners.
Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habits of theirs?)
His bed is covered with blankets and pillows both for you and him since he hogs everything soft in his vicinity. He also has a habit to jerk in his sleep, little kicks that brush against your calf. Mumbling in his sleep where the little words are spoken that only the night hears.

Sansa Stark - NSFW Alphabet Headcanons
Sansa Stark x fem!reader
Requested by Anonymous
A/N: I wanted to write something that acknowledged the trauma Sansa would have after her experiences. Because of that, this is less smutty than other NSFW alphabets I’ve written for other characters. It can be hard to figure out how to write trauma and recovery, so quite a bit of this is based on my own experiences with overcoming trauma. I hope I did an okay job.
TW: Mentions of abuse, rape, trauma, and Sansa’s struggles to overcome them.
Also, if you haven’t yet, make sure you check out my SFW alphabet headcanons for Sansa.
A = Aftercare (what they’re like after sex)
Sansa requires a lot of aftercare to feel safe and secure. Cuddle up with her, get extra snug with some furs, and stroke her hair. Check in with how she’s feeling. It’ll mean a lot to her knowing that you care for her wellbeing. Her sexual experiences with you are nothing less than beautiful and loving, but they can still elicit some bad feelings, thoughts, and memories stemming from her past trauma, especially near the start of your physical relationship. Hold her. Listen to her. Make sure she’s warm. Maybe take a bath with her and brush out her hair. Most importantly, stay with her. Don’t rush off. She needs the security of knowing that you care about her and that you won’t leave her when she’s vulnerable.
B = Body part (their favorite body part of theirs and also their partner’s)
She has a difficult relationship with her body. She’s covered in scars, very real reminders of the abuse she suffered at the hands of Ramsay. Sansa rebuilding her appreciation for her body is a long process, but it starts off with her coming to like her hands. She loves the way her fingers look entwined with yours, the way they gently explore your skin, the way they can make you moan in pleasure.
Her favorite part of you is your neck and shoulders region, especially loving to place kisses there and against your collarbones. When you hold her, she’ll bury her face into the curve of your neck or rest her head on your shoulder, feeling secure and at ease.
C = Cum (anything to do with cum, basically)
Sansa finds nothing more beautiful or erotic than how you work so diligently to make her wet and how you then savor her juices. Her only physical experiences before you were with Ramsay, and he didn’t care whether or not it felt good to Sansa. In fact, he got more sick and twisted pleasure from having her suffer. Seeing the way you spend so long teasing her and stimulating her to make her wet and then seeing how you absolutely adore her juices, licking up every last drop, means the world to her. One of the most erotic moments she ever had was the very first time you brought your fingers up to her mouth after you gently dragged them through her folds, urging her to taste herself. Ramsay took pleasure in her pain. You took pleasure in her pleasure.
D = Dirty secret (pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
I’ll explore this a little more under “W = Wild card,” but Sansa’s dirty secret (that you obviously come to learn) is that she’s not straight. In a society like Westeros where strict gender roles reign, queerness is taboo, particularly for someone as high-profile as Sansa.
E = Experience (how experienced are they? do they know what they’re doing?)
Sansa’s not experienced when it comes to sex because her experiences with Ramsay weren’t sex; they were torture. She’s very slow to pursue a physical relationship with you, and it’s a learning experience for the both of you as you begin to open up to each other, explore your likes and dislikes at a mindful speed, and become more comfortable with each other. It’s a slow process, but it’s important not to push it too far or too fast.
F = Favorite position (this goes without saying)
Initially, Sansa would prefer being on top or having the two of you both laying on your sides because it helps her not feel completely powerless. As she becomes more comfortable with your physical relationship and works through some of her trauma, she sometimes allows you to be on top, but it would take a long time to build up that level of trust for her to feel fully comfortable in that kind of position.
G = Goofy (are they more serious in the moment? are they humorous? etc.)
Sansa is quite serious, but she can become a bit more playful and giggly once she feels more secure and becomes more confident during sex. It takes a while to get to that point, though, and sex will never be something she takes lightly. She views it as a very real commitment to each other, and so there will always be a fairly serious undertone during intimate moments.
H = Hair (how well groomed are they? does the carpet match the drapes? etc.)
Her hair down there is naturally pretty short and neat, and so it doesn’t require much upkeep to remain tidy, if any. It’s a similar shade to the color on her head, perhaps a little darker.
I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect)
Sansa is used to being used as someone’s plaything, being treated like a literal object. Therefore, it’s of utmost importance to her that you two have a strong connection during any sexual act. To keep the experience feeling very real and very human, Sansa likes to make eye contact or be face-to-face. She always tries to remain fully present when the two of you are together. It feels like you’re the only two people in the world when you’re together. It’s never spur of the moment, and the build-up of passion that leads up to the sex really emphasizes the undeniable connection between you two when you make love.
J = Jack off (masturbation headcanon)
Sansa rarely masturbates.
K = Kink (one or more of their kinks)
Honestly, Sansa wants and needs things to be pretty vanilla between you two in bed. Most kinks would either make her feel uncomfortable or foolish.
This is not a kink per se, but Sansa does tend to be a bit more dominant in bed. She’s actually fairly vers, but she tends to take a slightly more dominant role in bed since she would want to be the one to set the pace and to take the lead to feel more empowered and confident in the experience. It’s a big deal when she is able to trust you enough and feel comfortable enough with you to just lay back and let you take the lead with pleasuring her.
L = Location (favorite places to do the do)
Sex is something she would save for the bedroom. It’s the only place she’d find it appropriate.
M = Motivation (what turns them on, gets them going)
It takes a long time to get Sansa going. First and foremost, she needs to feel loved, secure, and empowered before anything goes down. You need to lay the groundwork much earlier and build up to it slowly over the course of the day with knowing glances, sly smiles, gentle touches, and loving words. There needs to be a development of tenderness and intimacy to make her want to bed you. She isn’t DTF at the drop of a hat.
N = No (something they wouldn’t do, turn offs)
Sansa would refuse to do anything that made either of you uncomfortable or that would hurt either of you. She is particularly turned off by bondage, gags, and pain. She isn’t into anything too rough or fast, and she also wouldn’t be into extreme dom/sub dynamics. Also, she wouldn’t feel comfortable with being penetrated, at least not for a long time.
O = Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.)
Sansa starts off preferring to give oral rather than receive because she’s not ready to have anything like that done to her; but as she grows more comfortable with physical intimacy with you, she comes to enjoy giving and receiving equally. She doesn’t quite know what she’s doing at first, but she’s a fast learner and eager to please you, wanting to hear you whimper and feel you writhe in pleasure because of her.
P = Pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual? etc.)
Your earlier sexual experiences with Sansa are slow paced and shy because of her hesitance, but she becomes more sensual (but still fairly slow) as she grows in confidence. She would much rather take her time and savor the experience. Fast or rough sex would be avoided at all costs, and she would feel relieved that you understood and were fine with that.
Q = Quickie (their opinions on quickies, how often, etc.)
Nope, no quickies here. She needs a slow build-up and lots of aftercare.
R = Risk (are they game to experiment? do they take risks? etc.)
At the beginning of your relationship, her past trauma makes any and all sexual interactions feel like a risk. It takes Sansa quite a long time before she even considers physical intimacy with you beyond kissing and cuddling, and so she isn’t game to get experimental too quickly in your sexual relationship. As she gets more confident, though, she’ll get more willing to try out new positions and techniques, but she still wouldn’t be willing to try anything too kinky or risky.
S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?)
Usually one round is enough for Sansa to call it a night, but sometimes she might surprise you with a second round. Early on in your physical relationship, it takes her a fairly long time to reach orgasm, though, because she’s get stuck in her head and wouldn’t stay present in the moment. When she’d manage to shift her focus to being more in the moment with you, she’d cum quite a bit faster.
T = Toys (do they own toys? do they use them? on a partner or themselves?)
She doesn’t own any toys. If you wanted her to use any on you, she’d be willing to give it a go. She likely wouldn’t want you to use them on her, though.
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)
As Sansa becomes more confident in her abilities to pleasure you, she sometimes can be a bit of a tease, liking to vary speed and pressure to keep you on your toes.
V = Volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.)
Sansa is pretty quiet in terms of volume. At first, she would be so quiet that she was very clearly lost in her own head instead of enjoying the moment. You wanted to make sure she was having a nice time, so you encouraged her to speak up and to tell you whether or not she liked what you were doing. She would be shy about it at first, but she would come to communicate quite a bit during sex, telling you what felt good, what didn’t feel good, what she wanted you to do, etc. It meant a lot to her that you always listened to her and empowered her to call the shots while physically intimate. When in pleasure, she moans and gasps lightly and whispers out, “Oh yes, Y/N! Right there. Right there.”
W = Wild card (a random headcanon for the character)
Sansa Stark ain’t straight!! (My *personal* headcanon is that she’s a lesbian; but for general audience purposes, I’ll just say here that she’s some flavor of Not Straight.) As a child, her fixation on finding her Prince Charming and her idealization of knights in shining armor was a result of their society teaching her that her only goal was to become the perfect wife to the perfect man and to give him the perfect babies to carry on his family name. It’s compulsory heterosexuality, baby!!
Her sapphic awakening came when she developed a crush on Margaery. Their interactions were particularly impactful on Sansa, especially when Margaery would imply that she was attracted to women. Sansa spent a long time repressing her feelings because it doesn’t follow the strict gender roles in Westeros, and so having Margaery imply this really put the idea on the table for Sansa to explore.
X = X-ray (let’s see what’s going on under those clothes)
Her body is fairly slender with light curves. However, she’s covered in scars and markings from Ramsay. She’d keep them covered up as much as possible because she didn’t want to see them.
Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)
Sansa’s sex drive is not very high. Sexual intimacy would happen only if/when she felt ready. She would never want to be used like a sex toy again. She hopes that she’ll have a partner who respects her enough to understand that she needs time instead of pressuring her into anything.
Z = Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)
Sansa requires quite a bit of aftercare, so she doesn’t fall asleep quickly.

More Than a Maid - Phantom Manor Pt. 3
Keeping Ravenswood Manor tidy and presentable is hard work. Chamber maid Anna has kept to a strict schedule ever since she had started working at the manor for a number of years. Back then, it was just her and her brother, Jasper, taking care of the family and the manor. Over the years, Thunder Mesa had boomed, and so did the number of jobs. Yes, cleaning and cooking for a living seemed a little low for others, but for her, the pay was just more than money.
Having been accepted for the job for extra help for then baby Melanie, Anne came into the manor with the mindset that she was going to be working for a bunch of uptight snobs. She can clearly remember her first day of work. Jasper was still awaiting news from Mr. Ravenswood for the groundskeeper job, one that would suit him very well. Prepared for the worse, she was certainly taken aback from Martha Ravenswood warm welcome.
“Welcome, darling!” Martha exclaimed, beckoning Anna into the foyer. “Me and Henry are very happy that you’re here!”
“O-of course, Mrs. Ravenswood.” she stuttered, anxious about her first impression.
“Oh please, call me Ms. Martha. Ravenswood does sound a little demeaning, doesn’t it? And I am most definitely the least demeaning person here.” she closed the door behind Anna. “But I do say, wait for the intimidation to show up, he’s just coming in from a meeting.”
“I-i’m very pleased to be here.” Anna said, her grip on her bag loosening.
“As am I. Did the work agency let you know of little Melanie?” Martha questioned, motioning Anna to follow.
“U-uh, yes! I have had plenty of experience with little ones. Especially the little rowdy children.” Anna said.
Martha laughed. “They can be a bit of pain, yes?” she said, walking into the kitchen.
“Oh, but not my Melanie. I swear, I’ve never seen a baby sleep so soundly. Please do sit. ”
“Just like that? It usually takes a bottle and a bit of playtime.” Anna said as she sat down, setting her suitcase on her side.
Martha nodded. “The second I put her down in her cradle and she is snoring in no time. It must be the magic of the land the manor is built on that does that.” she chuckled lightly.
“Magic?” Anna enquired.
“I know it sounds mad, but it's true. There is something about this land that has a certain enchantment to it. It was almost like it was called to Henry, like it wanted us here.” Martha said. “Oh well, enough about that! Let me show you around!”
-
“And finally, the last spot of the grand tour, is Henry’s office.” Martha pushed the doors wide open, a gush of air hitting Anna in the face.
“Oh my, so many books.” Anna awed, clasping her hands together.
“You needn’t worry about cleaning those, he always has one of them in his hand.” Martha said, picking up a book. “One reason I accepted his proposal, he is a smart man. Smart enough to marry a lovely lady like me.” She smiled, poofing up her curly bun.
Anna laughed. “A smart man, indeed.”
The sound of the front doors closing alerted Martha.
“Henry, we’re up here!” Martha turned to Anna,”If he seems a bit curt with you, he is just tired, nothing personal.”
“A bit personal if you are in my study, touching my things.” he spoke back from the stairs.
Anna had impressed Martha, and now it was time for the man of the house. Would he be tough but fair, or rude and demeaning? The doors to the study opened, and in walked Henry.
The man had his small case in hand, a bit of a jaunt in his step. He placed it down on the ground and set his hat on his desk. He gave Martha a small peck on the cheek.
“You could’ve greeted me in the parlor.” he said quietly, still waiting to acknowledge Anna. “You know how I love to see your sweet face after a long day.”
“Oh how flattering. Darling, this is Anna Jones, our new chambermaid.” she said, placing her hand on Anna’s back.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, sir.” Anna said, sticking her hand out for a handshake. Henry’s gaze met Anna’s, his dark eyes staring straight into her soul. Anna noticed the small tremble in her hand, relaxing before anyone could notice.
“Pleasure’s all mine, Ms. Jones.” Henry said, gently taking Anna’s hand into both of his, and shaking it. “I’ve heard good things about you. And I trust you met my Melanie?”
“Yes sir. But I’m afraid that she’s asleep.” Anna replied.
“Oh let me go get her. I’ll tell you, she has the prettiest eyes anyone has ever seen.” Henry hurried out of the room, Martha following him.
“Sweetest, don’t wake the baby, she’s napping!” Martha’s voice trailed off down the hallway.
Shifting where she stood, Anna looked around the room. She noticed just how neat the room looked. There really was no need to tidy this room. From the top of the drapes, to never used before fireplace, not a speck of dust. It was still beautiful though, the deep mahogany furnishing reaching into the ceiling. Anna walked over to the huge windows, looking at a perfect view of the gardens. The workers outside were planting rose bushes, as well as some baby trees. How nice it is to be rich, Anna thought.
“Here she is! My pride and joy.” Henry announced, holding Melanie tenderly in his arms. “Melanie, my flower, wake up.” he gently nudged her.
The little baby sleepily opened her eyes, yawning. She looked around the room, her eyes growing just a little wider in bewilderment, cooing.
“Always so surprised, she is.” Martha said, rubbing the back of Melanie’s head.
“Curious is the word I’m looking for, just like her father.” Henry replied, taking Melanie over to the windows by Anna. He lifted her in the air, making silly noises. Melanie giggled, reaching towards her father.
“Look Melanie!” Martha pointed to Anna, “that’s your new friend!”
Anna smiled at Melanie, smiling and giving a tiny wave to her. The baby looked at her new friend, her eyes widening further. Henry moved closer to her.
“She’ll learn to like you, I promise.” he said. “She just has to warm up-”
Suddenly, Melanie reached out, wanting to be held by her, her tiny hands trying to grab onto Anna.
“Oh nevermind.” Henry chuckled, passing her over. “Well that was quick.”
Melanie’s head laid softly on Anna’s shoulder, cuddling into her, a small smile spread across her small face. Anna laughed quietly, patting her on the back.
“That is certainly a good sign.” Martha beamed, “Welcome to the manor, Anna.”
-
Smiling at the memory, Anna finished preparing the afternoon tea for Mr. Ravenswood. She quickly placed the sugar and creamer on the tray, and made her way up to the study. Mrs. Ravenswood was in town with Melanie shopping, and wouldn’t be back for some time. That and to get away from Mr. Ravenswood.
With a boom in Thunder Mesa, Henry was very, very, stressed. And with stress, came frustration and anger. It could be as simple as a spoon falling and the man would blow his top. Anna did try her best to steer clear of his tantrums, and it worked pretty well. That was because she brought him food, which calmed him some.
“You saved my life again, Ms. Jones, thank you.” he would say every time she came in with his meals. It was a bit odd though. He wasn’t very nice to the other house staff, excluding Jasper. Henry would always ask for Anna, even when she was terribly busy with cleaning or cooking. Did it feel nice to be always called on? A little, yes. Meant she wasn’t being forgotten underneath the growing number of workers in the house.
Making her way up to the top of the stairs, she felt the cool breeze of the study doors opening.
“Ah, there you are! I’ve been waiting for you.” Henry said, his arms crossed.
“I’m so sorry, sir. It won’t happen again.” Anna said, rushing into the room. She quickly placed the tea tray on the side of the desk.
“It's alright, just a bit quiet and lonesome today.” Henry replied, chuckling. “With all this business cooling down some today, I got a little used to the noise.”
“Me as well, I’m missing it. I’ll say this now, and just wait, it’ll come back tenfold.” Anna smiled, pouring a cup.
It got a bit quiet after, and a little awkward. She expected Ravenswood to say something back, but he didn’t. He walked back to his desk, rearranging paperwork and tidying up. The quicker she placed his afternoon snack and drink, the sooner she could go back and relax. When he was alone like this, it felt okay to make conversation, but with Martha? Absolutely not. It felt like she was intruding on their time together, even when she was cleaning. Anna had never been married, just courted. She didn’t have time for love either. It was sad to say that her work consumed her life. Did she want what they had, the safety and love of having a partner to get through the hardships of living? Yes. She wished for it everyday. But it wasn’t written in the stars for her.
“Anna, can I ask you something?” Henry said, his deep voice making her jump.
“Yes sir?” Anna turned around, her hands folded.
Henry looked down, twiddling with his pen. It was a bit out of character for him to do that. The great businessman known as Henry Ravenswood, strong and stern, twiddling and fidgeting before the house maid.
“Do you know why I always call on you?” he mumbled, his eyes fixated on the pen.
Anna thought for a moment. “Because I know how you like your tea.” She placed the cup on the desk.
He chuckled. “That was close. But its because..” Ravenswood got up, and slowly headed over to Anna.
“Now promise me you won’t tell anyone I said this, but its because you’re different from the others. You know how to carry on in a subject, and how to improve it. You give me a laugh with your wits. It brings me some peace to my hectic mind. Martha can’t really do any of that with me. Its like I always offend her in some way, or she just doesn’t understand what I say.” he confessed.
Anna was very surprised by this. It seemed they got along well, but it looks like they didn’t. It warmed her heart. She brought him something to put his mind at ease.
“Including that and you’re just so..” Taking a step closer, he glanced at Anna, and anywhere else but her eyes. “So beautiful.”
“T-thank you sir, I’m flattered.” Anna said shakingly, both scared and happy at his comment. She dug her nails into her hands.
“I swear, when I first saw you, I thought I might had seen an angel, radiating a breath of fresh air into my home.” he said lowly. “How can I be so sure you’re not a vision?”
Blushing, Anna extended her hand. “You can shake it. I’m flesh and blood, I promise.” she smiled.
Henry looked at her hand, a blank expression covered his face. It seemed like an eternity before he took her hand into his. Instead of shaking it, he gently took the knuckles of her hand, and kissed it gingerly. It was as if he was afraid she was going to burst into a thousand pieces, like she was going to break.
“You’re real.” he whispered, rubbing the spot where he kissed. “I can attest to it.”
Anna gave a small laugh, Henry smiling. They both built up the courage to look at each other, their fears starting to slip away.
“W-well, I believe I must go back to work.” Anna headed to the door, fiddling with her apron. “Is there anything you may need before I go, sir?”
Henry sighed, looking around. She glanced at his desk, then at the door, and finally at him. He took cautious steps towards her, his hand lifting her chin. Anna looked into his eyes, watching his expressions change in a matter of seconds, not deciding on which face it did. Slowly, he leaned down, his lips meeting Anna’s. She closed her eyes, kissing him back. She could stay like this, had it not been for her heart pounding in her chest and the threat of someone walking in. He pulled back, his touch leaving her. A bit disappointed, he walked back to his desk, sitting down.
“I believe I have everything I want, thank you, Ms. Jones.” Henry smiled.
Anna smiled back, and opened the door. Closing it behind her, she stood on the other side for a moment. She wanted to savor it, live in it just a while longer. Happy with her new secret, she giddily walked down the stairs. She giggled like a school girl who had received her first kiss. A sense of thrill ran through her arms and legs, getting ready to zap out of her fingertips. I want more, she thought. More of his embrace, of his presence. But at the same time, it felt wrong. That was her boss, a married man. She did not contribute to that marriage or to raising Melanie. Oh what if Martha found out? Melanie could’ve walked in on that. She would destroy a union, and traumatized their most prized possession. Another part of her said, who cares? As long as she kept it a secret, there would be no harm done. Easy as that.
She was so distracted, she didn’t even notice Jasper sitting at the kitchen table. He was frowning, sweat dripping off of him.
“Oh hello! How was work outside? Do you want a nibble of something or maybe some water-”
“What did you do?” he cut her off. Anna froze. Suddenly, she remembered. Those wide windows of the manor looking into the gardens where Jasper worked, large enough to see the ongoings of Ravenswood’s study. Its not much of a little secret anymore. Damn.
“Anna, what did you do?”

Hi :3 ✩ for Madara/Kakashi or maybe Sakumo/Orochimaru if You like that one :) Have a nice day! You're awesome!
Aww thank you!!! You’re too sweet!
I am contractually obliged to do this for MadaKaka lol. I don’t actually really ship Orochimaru with anyone, and Sakumo I didn’t ship with anyone until @sloaners started posting all that Kaguya/Sakumo stuff that I never knew I needed lol. But anyways, on to the answers!
This is going under a cut because it’s long af like jesus christ.
Disagreements:
Who is more likely to raise their voice?
Madara, 100% the man barely has an inside voice as it is.
Who threatens to leave but never actually does?
Madara did, only once. Kakashi thought he was serious and it was a whole Thing™. He has since stopped saying things like “why am I with you?” and “what did i do to deserve falling in love with someone as terrible as you?” because he realised Kakashi took that waaaayyy too seriously.
Who actually keeps their word and leaves?
Kakashi. Not because of their disagreement, but because he honestly thinks Madara is better off without him. Madara has had to chase the bastard down more than once to convince him that there’s no one else Madara could ever want.
Who trashes the house?
Madara, definitely. He’s a table flipper when really angry. Kakashi will let his ninken chew Madara’s sandals if Madara is being an asshole (because he’s passive aggressive like that). Madara’s belongings might go missing, or end up in strange places as well.
Do either of them get physical?
I mean, they’re ninja, so yeah, totally. But not in a domestic abuse sort of way. Just, they start arguing and then it turns into sparring, which later turns into sparring, if you know what I mean….
How often do they argue/disagree?
about petty things? All the time. More because Kakashi likes to make Madara angry, and because Madara is kind of tsundere, so it’s just so easy for almost anything to get him mad. But when it comes to serious matters, they’re both surprisingly good at talking that kind of stuff out. Mostly because they both look at their problems from a strategic POV, and can separate their emotions from what’s going on.
Who is the first to apologise?
Depends on who’s in the wrong, and if feelings were hurt. Typically, that means Madara, since Kakashi doesn’t really get angry. Kakashi’s way of dealing with an argument is to disappear, so that means it’s typically up to Madara to hunt Kakashi down and bring him back home. Even when Kakashi is mad, instead of banishing Madara to the couch, he’d probably go sleep in a tree somewhere (or hang out with Hashi/Tobi or Tenzou, depending on the era he’s at).
Sex:
Who is on top?
depends. Kakashi is less likely to care either way, but they’re both good with either position. It depends more on who initiates, and the mood they’re in.
Who is on the bottom?
…this is essentially the same question. Also depends.
Who has the strangest desires?
like, kinks? Idk they’re ninja they both get up to strange things, but nothing I’d consider too weird (tho like, I don’t really know how to measure what other people would find weird…)
Any kinks?
oh yeah. Orgasm denial followed by over stimulation. Maybe a bit of exhibitionism. Kakashi likes to watch (and Madara realises he does too, when there’s a Kakashi!bunshin in play…). Kakashi has a praise kink (tho he’d never admit to it) but luckily Madara’s dirty talk mostly consists of praise so it works. Kakashi probably also likes to be degraded, but Madara does not want to degrade him, so that doesn’t happen. Madara has a clothing kink too, and it’s all Kakashi’s fault.
Who’s dominant in bed?
depends!!! They’re more a ‘bring sparring to the bedroom’ couple; Kakashi likes to tease, and Madara feels like he needs to get the upper hand. But once they trust each other more, they might be willing to indulge the other and submit a bit.
Is head ever in the equation?
oh yeah
If so, who is better at performing it?
that’s hard to say (no pun intended lol). They have very different techniques. Madara takes it as a matter of pride to see how fast and how hard he can make Kakashi come (and how loud he can make Kakashi scream). Kakashi is a tease and will stay down there until Madara can’t take it anymore.
Ever had sex in public?
…define public lol. In public spaces, sure. Outside? Definitely. In view of someone else? Nope, never, not allowed.
Who moans the most?
depends on what’s going down! Madara is typically louder tho.
Who leaves the most marks?
Madara 100% no question. He likes to know that under all the clothing Kakashi wears, he’s covered in love bites. Tho Kakashi leaves his fair share (those high collar shirts are not just fashionable lol).
Who screams the loudest?
9/10 Madara (it takes a special something to make Kakashi loud).
Who is the more experienced of the two?
I like to hc Kakashi as a virgin before he gets into a relationship, so Madara, but only just barely (and that’s because I seem him as the kind of guy who would have been to a pleasure house or two…)
Do they ‘fuck’ or ‘make love’?
both. definitely both. both is good.
Rough or soft?
both again! More often rough, at least at first. Can be soft and lazy and loving tho, depending on how things are initiated.
How long do they usually last?
DEPENDS! Both are busy, so lots of quickies. But if they have the time to spare they can go for a looooong time.
Is protection used?
no, but that’s because they’re exclusive and clean and neither can get pregnant but if even one of those does not apply to you, use a condom goddamn it!!!! #safesex
Does it ever get boring?
nope.
Where is the strangest place they’d have sex?
mmmm, probably on the Hokage monument lol.
Family:
Do your muses plan on having children/or have children?
if this is taking place back when Madara is clan head, then yeah he needs to have kids. If it’s in Kakashi’s time Madara might be pressured by the Elders to make more Crazy Eye Babies, but he prob won’t want to. Kakashi is prob pressured into having kids by the council as well. Tbh it’s a ninja village they’re all probs pressured into having kids but Madara and Kakashi especially. Kakashi doesn’t really want kids, they’re a lot of trouble. But if he somehow ended up with kids I think he’d enjoy being the biggest Troll Dad ever, of all time.
If so, how many children do your muses want/have?
I can see Madara wanting to have like four or five, just because he had so many siblings and he would want his kids to have that experience. Kakashi wants only one, but then that one grows up a bit and he wants another, and then the second gets a little older and he wants another…
Who is the favorite parent?
Neither. Madara is strict and Kakashi is soooo embarrassing omg he’s the worst. Kakashi has his ninken help out with babysitting. The kids prefer the ninken.
Who is the authoritative parent?
Madara is more likely to talk about the rules and give long winded lectures, but Kakashi will not let his kids get away with anything (tho he sees it more as training. If you can trick me then you can get away with it sort of deal).
Who is more likely to allow the children to have a day off school?
Kakashi, definitely. If the kids have a day off, Madara makes them train lol. There are no breaks when your father is Uchiha Madara.
Who lets the children indulge in sweets and junk food when the other isn’t around?
Kakashi for sure, but only if they’ve had one healthy meal already. No all day junk. Madara thinks sweets make you weak, but he also can’t cook, so when he’s in charge of dinner it’s like, sliced veggies, sandwiches, or takeout (with sliced veggies lol). Maybe cold leftovers, unless one of the kids is better at using the stove than Madara lol.
Who turns up to extra curricular activities to support their children?
both are pretty busy, but they both put aside time to train with the kids, and to do fun things
Who goes to parent teacher interviews?
Madara needs to go and always ends up frightening the teachers. Kakashi will pretend he isn’t listening just to make the teacher mad. Teachers hate them.
Who changes the diapers?
both, tho Kakashi will try to get out of it by saying his nose is too sensitive.
Who gets up in the middle of the night to feed the baby?
Kakashi. He’s already up from nightmares, it’s soothing to see the baby.
Who spends the most time with the children?
depends. If this is a Founders!AU then probably Kakashi since he’s less busy. If this is in Kakashi’s time when he’s Hokage, then Madara since he’s less busy. Tho I can see them both taking their kids to work.
Who packs their lunch boxes?
both. They are very healthy lunches either way. Kakashi will have to cook, but Madara is pretty good at making/arranging pretty bentos. He’s good with a knife. He makes the cutest food (but never mention it unless you’re his child he will show you just what he can do with a kunai).
Who gives their children ‘the talk’?
Kakashi hands the kids Icha Icha when they’re like, fourteen, and calls it a day. Madara confiscates the books and gives the world’s most uncomfortable and confusing explanation of the birds and the bees. Gods help everyone in the family if they have daughters. Someone save the children!
Who cleans up after the kids?
Madara is the dad that will stand next to a mess and start yelling through the house until the person responsible comes by and cleans it up. If none of the kids take responsibility, then they all have to clean it up. Kakashi will tidy up almost unthinkingly, but the kids will get in trouble for it later. Unless they’re really young and like, can’t, in which case both clean up messes when they see them. They’re both neat freaks.
Who worries the most?
Madara expresses his worry the most, but Kakashi gets anxiety as soon as he can’t see his kids. Sometimes he gets anxious if he can’t easily reach out to grab them immediately. He hides it really well tho, and can come off as cold.
Who are the children more likely to learn their first swear word from?
Izuna. Or Naruto, if in Kakashi’s time. Neither Madara or Kakashi really swear, but if I had to choose one, probably Madara after burning dinner lol.
Affection:
Who likes to cuddle?
both, tho neither will admit it. Lots of standing really close to each other haha
Who is the little spoon?
Neither. They don’t spoon. Usually they’ll sleep face to face, tangled up in each other’s limbs, or pressed back to back if they don’t feel safe where they’re sleeping. Spooning only happens if they were having sex in that position, but it doesn’t last.
Who gets naughty in the most inappropriate of places?
Kakashi. Such a tease. Will usually initiate just to see Madara go red.
Who struggles to keep their hands to themself?
Neither. They both have great self control. If there’s touching going on, it’s very purposeful lol.
How long can they cuddle until one becomes uncomfortable?
Neither is good at just sitting and cuddling. Unless you count leaning back to back as cuddles, in which case they’re good at that… after a while. They can both fall asleep while holding each other too.
Who gives the most kisses?
they’re not casual kissers. Kakashi might peck Madara on the cheek if he’s being a tease and wants to see Madara go red. Madara is more likely to start a make-out sess tho. Madara also likes to kiss during sex. Something about Kakashi’s lips always being covered… Madara is a perv who has a clothing kink
What is their favourite non-sexual activity?
Kakashi likes to bother Madara until he gets angry. Madara says he hates it but he loves the attention (since Kakashi is so stingy with it). They both have problems, obviously.
Where is their favourite place to cuddle?
bed. Almost all cuddles happen in bed or post sex (which could be anywhere but like, bed is where most of the cuddles happen).
Who is more likely to playfully grope the other?
Kakashi for sure. Madara will try to retaliate but he gets more flustered by touching Kakashi than Kakashi gets by being touched haha.
How often do they get time to themselves?
both are pretty busy, but they often work together or in the same room.
Sleeping:
Who snores?
neither, they’re both elite ninja and if they ever did snore, it’s been trained out of them
If both do, who snores the loudest?
Do they share a bed or sleep separately?
they share a bed, no doubt lol
If they sleep together, do they cozy up together or lay far apart?
they’re touching, either front to front or back to back
Who talks in their sleep?
Neither
What do they wear to bed?
nothing no that’s a lie they’re paranoid and always prepared for anything, so Kakashi is wearing his jounin pants and the tight undershirt plus mask. Madara is more likely to sleep in a yukata. Both have weapons on them at all times.
Are either of your muses insomniacs?
mmmm, Kakashi wakes up a lot from nightmares. Both have been trained to sleep even in terrible conditions tho so they can force their bodies to sleep.
Can sleeping pills be found by the bedside?
no way in hell these paranoid bastards are going to use sleeping pills
Do they wrap their limbs around each other or just lay side by side?
both
Who wakes up with bed hair?
BOTH!!!! So much bedhead in this relationship.
Who wakes up first?
Kakashi will wake up from nightmares but will fall back asleep. Madara usually wakes up earlier in the morning tho.
Who prepares breakfast in bed for the other?
Madara would but he can barely cook. Maybe he’ll bring some sliced fruit/yogurt/cereal/something that doesn’t require heat lol. Kakashi is better at making breakfast but would never do something so obviously affectionate like bring Madara breakfast in bed (it’s so much more fun to do other things in bed…)
What is their favourite sleeping position?
front to front or back to back
Who hogs the sheets?
Kakashi will just to be a brat. Madara will retaliate by stealing them back. If they both end up tangled in the sheets and each other, well, I guess they’ll just have to sleep like that.
Do they set an alarm each night?
no need they wake up when they need to
Can a television be found in their bedroom?
nope. If it’s the past then they don’t exist, and even in the future neither really watch tv.
Who has nightmares?
Kakashi more often but Madara does too.
Who has ridiculous dreams?
Madara will occasionally have a weird dream, but it’s rare for him to remember his dreams at all. If Kakashi is not having a nightmare then his dreams are hilarious.
Who sprawls out and takes up most of the bed?
Kakashi will, just to be an asshole, but he actually takes up just enough space for his body to fit. Kakashi will take up more space in the beginning of the relationship to force Madara to cuddle him or fall off the bed lol.
Who makes the bed?
both, usually whoever leaves the bed last.
What time is bed time?
whenever they can be dragged away from work
Any routines/rituals before bed?
Kakashi reads. Madara actually brushes his hair. I know, I didn’t believe it either.
Who’s the grumpiest when they wake up?
Madara is always grumpier than Kakashi, but not any more grumpy in the morning than he is at any other time, does that count?
Work:
Who is the busiest?
depends! Past!Madara and Hokage!Kakashi
Who rakes in the highest income?
see above.
Are any of your muses unemployed?
Future!Madara might be
Who takes the most sick days?
Neither, tho Kakashi plays hookie a lot.
Who is more likely to turn up late to work?
Kakashi of course
Who sucks up to their boss?
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
What are their jobs?
ninja, obvi
Who stresses the most?
Madara tho he won’t admit to it. He just gets increasingly irritable.
Do your muses enjoy or despise their careers/occupations?
yep.
Are your muses financially stable?
they’re rich, bitch!
Home:
Who does the washing?
they do their own washing
Who takes out the trash?
whoever sees it’s full
Who does the ironing?
idk if their clothing is ever ironed but if necessary they do their own
Who does the cooking?
Madara could burn air, so that means it’s up to Kakashi, or takeout
Who is more likely to burn the house down just trying?
Madara has exploded the kitchen multiple times
Who is messier?
they’re both neat freaks
Who leaves the toilet roll empty?
neither
Who leaves their dirty clothes on the floor?
neither
Who forgets to flush the toilet?
neither
Who is the prankster around the house?
100% Kakashi, Madara doesn’t know how to prank, he’s just mean.
Who loses the car keys when it comes time to go somewhere?
neither tho if anything is “lost” it’s because Kakashi took it when Madara wasn’t looking
Who mows the lawn?
whoever is less busy
Who answers the telephone?
Madara, so long as he’s not working (and there are phones to be answered lol). Kakashi will avoid all human contact if possible. If you want to get a message to Kakashi, send an animal.
Who does the vacuuming?
both
Who does the groceries?
Kakashi, mostly because he cooks so he knows what they need. Madara will buy things if he wants Kakashi to make him something in particular.
Who takes the longest to shower?
Madara, is this even a question??? Have you seen that hair? Probably takes half an hour just to condition that b. He can shower really fast if he needs to tho. Ninja magic and all that.
Who spends the most time in the bathroom?
Madara, if he’s trying to tame his hair. Or impress Kakashi. Otherwise they’re both pretty fast.
Miscellaneous:
Is money a problem?
they’re rich, bitch.
How many cars do they own?
none because there ain’t no ninja cars
Do they own their home or do they rent?
In the past, Madara owns the clan house. In the future, Kakashi ends up in the Hokage mansion which technically the village owns. They eventually buy a house together when his tenure is over.
Do they live near the coast or deep in the countryside?
they live in the village hidden in the leaves so… wherever that is.
Do they live in the city or in the country?
see above lol
Do they enjoy their surroundings?
both love the village, tho in the future, being there is bittersweet for Madara
What’s their song?
I don’t think I can choose one for them since they exist in a world where none of the music i listen to exists lol
What do they do when they’re away from each other?
if it’s for a mission or something, they both pine and pout and are typically grumpier/moodier/broodier. If it’s just by choice they’re both fine with alone time (they both need it tbh let’s be real)
Where did they first meet?
on the battlefield (regardless of the time lol)
How did they first meet?
on opposite sides of a war (regardless of the time lol)
Who spends the most money when out shopping?
Kakashi is pretty frugal. Madara likes nice things but won’t splurge (unless he’s showing off in which case he can go a little ham with his money).
Who’s more likely to flash their assets?
Madara is not afraid to show some skin. Kakashi is covered head to toe but he knows that taking off even just one (1) glove is enough to get Madara sweating.
Who finds it amusing when the other trips over?
Kakashi is a little shit.
Any mental issues?
ohhhhh yeah. Entire lifetimes full.
Who’s terrified of bugs?
neither (tho Kakashi has probably gotten fleas a few times lbr)
Who kills the spiders around the house?
both
Their favourite place?
Kakashi has his hidey-holes. Madara likes to be where Kakashi is.
Who pays the bills?
both
Do they have any fears for their future?
they fear the other’s death
Who’s more likely to surprise the other with a fancy dinner?
Madara will try. If the food is edible, it’s takeout.
Who uses up all of the hot water?
Madara showers longer, but Kakashi will drain the hot water just to get on Madara’s nerves if Kakashi is upset with him.
Who’s the tallest?
Kakashi is 181 cm (so 5′11.25″) and Madara is like 179 cm (5′10.5′’) so Kakashi.
Who’s more likely to just randomly hop into the shower with the other?
Kakashi. Esp if Madara is taking a while.
Who wanders around in their underwear?
Madara for sure. You can bet he’s trying to show off, or grab Kakashi’s attention (it’s working, but Kakashi has an amazing poker face/is great at hiding behind Icha Icha.)
Who sings the loudest when singing along to the radio?
neither sings
What do they tease each other about?
Kakashi will tease Madara about anything. Madara is terrible at teasing (it comes across as threatening lol). If Madara ever finds out how embarrassed Kakashi gets while reading Icha Icha out loud tho… RIP Kakashi.
Who is more likely to cringe at the other’s fashion sense at times?
neither, they both dress very professionally (and blandly tbh)
Do they have mutual friends?
HASHIRAMAAAAA lol. That’s it tho that’s Madara’s only friend aside from his brother (and Izuna kinda sorta hates Kakashi for being an “eye thief,” tho they get closer later. Still not really friends tho).
Who crushed first?
Madara for sure, though it took him a while to realise it. Kakashi took forever. Like literally ages. Poor Madara…
Any alcohol or substance related problems?
nope!
Who is more likely to stumble home, drunk, at 3am?
Kakashi, esp if he was out with Gai. Madara if he was out with Hashirama. Tho if it’s the two of them out together they’re probably both drunk.
Who swears the most?
neither really swears, but Madara will if he’s really frustrated.
Goddamn, that took waaaayyyyy longer than I thought it would lol! This felt like a marathon. It was fun tho!

Akko/Andrew!
Who’s the messiest one:
I feel like this one has got to be Akko. It’s not that she’s lazy or sloppy so much as it is that she’s extremely disorganized, and tends to jump from one activity to another without thinking about properly wrapping up her previous activity first. As a result, books get left all over the place, she’ll leave the laundry all piled in the basket, she’ll toss her keys on a random chair and then forget she did it hours later when she needs them again. Helping this is the fact that her parents were always pretty easygoing with her, so she never really had a reason or thought to change the way she behaves.
Andrew, on the other hand, might have been messy, but his upbringing was very strict and so he learned early on not to leave anything strewn about, or else he would get it taken away from him. (Sort of a, “Clearly you don’t like or care about this, since you just left it laying out on the table, so you don’t need to have it anymore” kind of deal.) Although he’s very wealthy and there were housekeepers to do some cleaning, what they did was more along the lines of sweeping the floors and wiping down windows. Andrew was in charge of keeping his belongings not just tidy, but put away, so that a guest who dropped by unannounced might not even know that a young boy even lived there. This instilled habitual neatness in him that carries into adulthood, although over the years Akko’s influence does help him loosen up and relax some.
Who feels the most uncomfortable about PDA:
Akko once again! This is a cultural thing; although I hear that some younger generations in Japan have grown a bit more lax about PDA to some degrees, from my understanding Japan is still very reserved about that sort of thing, and so I feel that even though she’s exuberant and verbally affectionate, she’d be a lot more shy about things like kissing in public. Andrew, on the other hand, doesn’t have such reservations himself since western culture is more open about that sort of thing (and even though he was raised in a prim and proper wealthy English household, so long as he’s not sucking face it’s not inappropriate), but he respects the fact that Akko is shy about it, and thus lets her initiate any PDA they have, to make sure she’s comfortable.
Who’s the funniest drunk:
ANDREW.
First of all, the boy cannot hold his liquor. Let that be known. Champagne is one thing, and a single glass of wine with dinner is another. But start giving him more than that, and it will not take long at all for him to be completely sloshed. And when he’s sloshed? Oh boy. All those barriers come down. See, underneath his aloof and somewhat rigid exterior is a boy that loves adventure, risk taking, and having fun. We see this in his first episode, how he grins when he jumps after Akko as they’re being chased, as he smiles a little as he agrees to keep the misadventure their little secret. Andrew is actually quite fun-loving, beneath it all—and if his inhibitions were dropped I feel like he’d be the biggest goof imaginable. He’d be much more prone to accepting silly, ridiculous dares; he’d stumble over his words and then laugh about it because everything would be hilarious to him; he’d want to show off to others in ways that his father always frowned upon, because if it wasn’t business it wasn’t important. These might not seem too outlandish, but given how straight-laced he normally is, it would definitely be hilarious for those watching. Of that, I’m certain.
Who texts the most:
Hmmm, I’d say it’s about equal?
Akko’s the double texter, in that she’ll send seven texts in a row to ask a single question (maybe ten if she throws in some emojis in there). But Andrew will send longer texts, using paragraph breaks and everything, and I feel that this means that he’s really sending just as much, it’s just that his texts are slower and longer. So probably about equal; they like keeping in contact even when they’re just friends, even when it’s casual.
Who has the most embarrassing taste in music:
Probably Akko, but she’s not even a little embarrassed. Yes, she will blast the Sailor Moon theme song, and she’ll sing every word, and she won’t apologize for it for even a second. That said, although I imagine Andrew probably wasn’t allowed to listen to pop and the like growing up (you know his dad only ever let him listen to classical), I imagine that when he finally does hear it, he really likes it, simply because it’s so different. So you know, his taste might be a bit embarrassing as well, but he’s also not embarrassed because, hey, it’s his first time hearing it, leave him be.
Who reads the most:
Andrew. We all know Akko hates studying. :P (Like, she studies when she has to, but it’s . . . far from her favorite activity. She’s more of a hands-on learner.)
Who’s better with kids:
Akko! She’s playful, energetic, and loves to make them laugh. Andrew, by contrast, doesn’t really know what to do with them, particularly since it’s not like he has a good frame of reference to go by given what his own childhood was like. I do think, though, that he’d be the better … I don’t like to use the word disciplinarian, but he would be the one better equipped to set them straight when they were misbehaving, to teach them to right their wrongs, et cetera. He’d be better at the less fun aspects of parenting.
Who’s the one that fixes things around the house:
They’re both disasters, are you kidding me? Andrew never learned how because he never had to, and Akko tries to fix things with her magic and just makes it worse. In the end they have to call a third party repair service, like they probably should have done from the beginning.
Who’s got the weirdest hobby:
Hm, I can’t think of anything that would be too weird for either of them! Akko canonically collects Chariot cards, but I don’t think that’s odd, and I feel like any odd hobbies Andrew expressed growing up would have been stamped out by his father, who wouldn’t even let him practice piano because he viewed it as a waste of time. So for this, I’m going to say neither!
Who cooks and who cleans up:
Both! I think Akko would love to cook and experiment in the kitchen, and that Andrew would want to help so that it’s not all on her (and so he can keep some of the more, ah … eccentric recipes in check). So I think this is a responsibility the two of them would share. :)

Homeschooling on the road 101: How we’re teaching our kids while traveling
Mrs. Makepeace’s class is back in session!
After 18 months of homeschooling Kalyra on our road trip around Australia, I didn’t think I’d be taking on the responsibility of teaching my kids while traveling again. But, here we are, and this time, Savannah is joining my school.
We left the establishment in October last year, and I’ve been homeschooling on the road since. Last time we did distance education. This time I’m taking care of it myself!
Class is in!
In this post, I’ll share with you:
Why were homeschooling on the road this time instead of doing distance education
Homeschool registration complications
How I’m approaching homeschooling on the road
Covering homeschooling curriculum on the road
Homeschooling Resources
Our homeschool routine

Distance education or homeschooling
Lessons in an old train at Undarra, Queensland
When we traveled around Australia, we chose distance education. We couldn’t homeschool on the road technically because we didn’t have a “home base”.
I was not long coming off retirement from a 15-year teaching experience. I dreaded the idea of having to prepare units of work and lessons and ensuring I was on par with curriculum outcomes.
Plus, I knew I just wouldn’t have the time. We were dealing with a growing business as well as finding our feet with such an epic and new full-time journey as a family.
Distance Education while traveling had its good and bad points, but it was quite time-consuming, irrelevant at times and restrictive. But, I did like it in a lot of ways as well.
I share more tips for distance education here.
Why I chose to homeschool on the road?
Again, this time I couldn’t register the girls for homeschooling in Australia so the only option was distance education again.
But, when I looked into it, it was going to cost at least $1500 per child because we were traveling internationally (including international postage – whole lotta hassle there too!).
I couldn’t justify paying that much money, especially since I am a qualified teacher and confident and capable enough of teaching my own kids while traveling. AND distance education involves too much unnecessary work.
There as also the problem of us kind of lingering between two worlds for the next few years – do we settle in Australia or the US eventually? Therefore which system do I want to stay connected to?
If you are considering homeschooling your child on the road, take into consideration:
Your children’s needs, level, and learning ability
How your child learns
Your travel style
Your ability to take on homeschooling. Can you be diligent, committed and patient?
Your style – do you need structure or help or can you freewheel?
The travel experiences and what your kids can gain from it and how can you take advantage of these opportunities for growth and learning
What is the future of your child’s schooling? Will they return to traditional school or will you be a forever homeschooler?
What are the laws, regulations, and conditions around homeschooling in your state or country?
Registering for homeschooling
When we left Burleigh, we didn’t realise we’d still be in Australia in 2017! Thanks, visa delays. So I took Kalyra out of school without registering her in another one. There haven’t been any police knocking on my door so far for truanting.
I was worried about the girls spending the next few years in No Man’s Land, not being registered in the system somewhere.
What would happen if they returned back to Australia and they asked where they’d been schooling of the past three years? What if they didn’t let them back into school?
What if the same happened and she tried to register in the US, and the last school records were of her in grade three and so they put her back in grade three?
I asked a couple of family travel Facebook groups for help (this one is great). They provided lots of useful tips and information about homeschooling regulations which helped me feel at ease.
I also spoke to Kalyra’s school principal. He assured me that if we came back to Australia, the schools are required by law to take the kids regardless of where they have been previously. If we’ve been residents of another country, then it won’t matter at all. It’s not something they’ll actually chase up.
But, he emphasized to me several times the importance of keeping them up to grade level and check off the curriculum objectives, so they don’t fall behind. I assured him I’d take care of it.
Helpful resource for homeschooling in Australia
What about registering them for homeschooling in the USA?
I will register them as homeschoolers when we get to the US. From my research, registering for homeschooling in the USA could be an easy process. Each state has different rules and regulations when it comes to registering for homeschooling. Ensure you do your due diligence as there may be documentation requirements.
North Carolina is where we will probably end up living, so I’m considering registering there to keep it neat and tidy. I have learned that Florida and Texas are the best and easiest states to register for homeschooling. They are the less rigid and strict, so that may be the best option considering our nomadic lifestyle.
It does mean we have to set up a domicile in either of those states, which seems relatively easy to do.
Texas and Florida are also best for car registration, and with Orlando, you can get local prices for the theme parks if you have a domicile there. So this is also an attractive option. I’m going to do a little more research before I decide.
Here’s a great resource to help you know how to register for a domicile.
I also found that when it comes time to register the girl’s back into school in the US, they will have to take a placement test to ensure they are on grade level. So if I make sure I keep them on grade level and keep documentation of their work, we should be okay.
TestingMom.com is a brilliant resource for preparing these girls for the state grade level tests. More about that below.
How I am approaching homeschooling while traveling
The last thing I want is for my girls to return back to school and be behind. I don’t want to disadvantage them in that way and make things difficult for their teachers when they go back to school.
I have a lot of experience teaching grade four and five. Kalyra is in grade four, so I am quite in tune with the learning outcomes at this stage.
However, I will be keeping an eye on curriculum outcomes for both Australia and the US to ensure that I cover them in case we settle in either country.
I don’t want to do the full unschooling thing. I’m not saying unschooling is a wrong approach – I think it’s great. But, since homeschooling on the road is not going to be a lifetime thing for us, I feel keeping them up to grade level is important. We’ll be mixing a bit of unschooling and worldschooling with homeschooling.
It’s taken me awhile to research, test the best homeschooling resources and to formulate a homeschooling plan. I’m happy with how it’s all working out and so are the girls. I’m glad I had the space before going to the US to figure it out and find the groove with it.
My top priorities and focuses for learning on the road:
Empower my children to be independent learners
Foster their imagination and creativity
Enable them to become problem solvers and confident decision makers
Instill a sense of wonder, awe, curiosity
Help them become healthy strong women
Help them to express themselves in a variety of forms
Understand the role of negative experiences and how to overcome challenges
Assist them to become kind and compassionate people with a high-level skill in listening
Develop higher order thinking skills
Master the basic skills that help us survive and thrive
Our travel and life experiences will check off most of the above boxes. This reduces the amount of time to teach formalized lessons they really have no interest in.
I want them to be engaged, active learners in relevant, real-to-life experiences. You know that’s how you absorb lessons and grow best yourself.
What are our higher order thinking skills?
Bloom’s Taxonomy gives a framework for teaching thinking and is kinda the Bible that helps teachers plan lessons. Bloom’s aim was to promote higher forms of thinking in education, such as analysing and evaluating, rather than just teaching students to remember facts (rote learning).
Learning was divided into three domains of educational activity:
Cognitive: mental skills (Knowledge)
Affective: growth in feelings or emotional areas (Attitude or self)
Psychomotor: manual or physical skills (Skills)
All three domains are essential for developing a well-rounded person – someone who thrives in life. Travel and life experiences more than covers each of the three areas. Schooling focuses more on the cognitive domain.
The abilities and skills in the cognitive domain listed below start from the simple to the more complex. It’s generally accepted that you master each behavior before moving onto the next, but I don’t see it as always being so linear.
Blooms Taxonomy – the levels of thinking
Knowledge – recall of data or information.
Comprehension – understanding what you are learning.
Application – use a concept in a new situation.
Analysis – breaking down concepts into parts and determining how they relate and to better understand it.
Synthesis – building or creation/ combining ideas to form a new whole.
Evaluation – making judgements about the value of ideas or materials.
As you can see the higher order thinking skills help children learn how to solve problems, think for themselves, find connections and relevance, create and be able to reframe, refine, and evaluate.
You can read more here on Bloom’s Taxonomy and how you can apply it to learning.
Travel and higher order thinking skills
As a teacher, I know how to draw out and develop those higher order thinking skills in general conversations and through the experiences we have. My girls aren’t even aware their sneaky Mumma is creating one teachable moment after the other.
If your child can read and write, do basic maths skills, know how to learn for themselves, AND have these higher order thinking skills, you don’t have to worry too much about their future.
If they miss social studies and science lessons while you are on the road, they will pick up those concepts super quick when you return, and when it is relevant to them, if at all.
With the way we travel, we often partner with tourism boards. This means we probably do more activities and tours than the average traveler. (Trust me that sounds more glamorous to you than me as it means we’re often way busier than most travellers and have a lot more work to do. )
Learning about stars at the Cosmos Centre in Charleville, Outback Queensland
I love it because these tours take in social, cultural studies and science concepts. A visit to the Charleville observatory, where we observed the stars, looked at the sun, stared at Jupiter and saw her many moons, taught my girls more about the Universe than possibly a whole unit of work at school!
On our recent visit to Flinders Ranges National Park, we went on several tours with local indigenous guides. Because of the immediacy and relevance, they were more open to questioning, listening, understanding and thinking about how it was relevant to their lives.
I have a gazillion examples of how travel has empowered my children in so many different ways.
You can read more in the following posts:
Does travel negatively affect a child’s education
OMG. You mean you’re taking your kids out of school

4 ways family travel benefits kids
Homeschool curriculum on the road
There are a ton of resources online to help you find the right homeschool curriculum. You can buy curriculum in a box, or gather resources and do it yourself. We’re doing a mixture.
My focus won’t be on social, cultural or science curriculum – unless I feel there is a gaping hole somewhere that they’ll need to know upon re-entry, then I will incorporate lessons. A quick trip to a hands-on science museum somewhere will sort that out.
I can always make some of their reading lessons involve texts that talk about these concepts. Kalyra did one today learning about grasslands, forests, and deserts. Stuff she already knows from visiting the Outback, spending time in the Daintree Discovery Rainforest and the Australian savannah.
Physical Education
We’ll be moving a LOT! Kayaking, hiking, biking, supping, skiing and surfing.
Kalyra and Savannah watch dancing shows and teach themselves how to dance. Kalyra has perfected cartwheels and backflips by practicing one after the other – completely self-taught. I was worried at one stage that there was something wrong with her as she couldn’t walk five paces without cartwheeling. I’m sure there will be other sports and physical activities we’ll do along the way as well.
Plus our membership with TestingMom gives us access to GoNoodle which has a lot of great videos with dancing and other physical activity instruction.
Cosmic Kids Yoga is also a BRILLIANT free resource for kids.
Art and music
Savannah rockin out at the musical fence in Winton
Art and music is about creation and self-expression, so it’s important to foster, especially if they have an interest and talent in it. The problem is, is I don’t hold many skills in either. But, in this internet savvy world of us, it won’t be hard to find a few YouTube instructional videos.
My focus is on helping them learn how to learn. YouTube is a brilliant way to do that.
My Mum bought Kalyra a lovely drawing art book for Christmas – that will be coming with us and will be part of our lessons – sketching our different experiences.
Once we get to the US, I intend to purchase one of these art kits for them each.
We may buy a guitar or something for them if they are interested in that. Kalyra did violin lessons in school, so I’m more than happy for her to pick that up again while we’re traveling.
Savannah has expressed an interest before in busking on the street to earn money so the guitar just may help her entrepreneurial spirit.
Travel planning and budgeting
Family travel tip -> Go snorkeling on Boracay Island in the Philippines
The girls are already helping us to plan the Hawaii leg of our journey. We research online using Pinterest and Google to find exciting activities and experiences.
I want to incorporate real life activities where they take control of budgeting and spending money.
Kalyra was excited recently to buy a doughnut with her friend, to which I explained was to come out of her own money. She saw the price of it, quickly changed her mind realising it was a poor value spend.
I nearly did a cartwheel. If only she transferred that thinking when it was time for me to buy her doughnuts!!
I want the girls to develop a greater awareness of money. So many problems in life are a result of not understanding how money works and our relationship with it. Schools do a terrible job of helping children understand this. It’s one of the most important topics to master.
English and Literacy
The greatest gift you can give your child is a love of reading and a high proficiency in it. I offer plenty of tips in my free Life Learning eBook on how to help children read.
It’s important that your kids can, not only read the printed words but to understand what they have read and to engage with it.
One thing I loved about teaching in the US is that I learned so many amazing strategies for teaching reading. The instructional programs we used were brilliant, I can now transfer that to the girls, which also ensures I’m keeping up with US-based learning for when they go to school there.
You can see the resources I’ll be using below for reading and literacy. It will be a daily activity in some form.
Independent reading
Reading every day is core to our homeschooling. Both girls love reading. They choose what they read although I encourage them to have a healthy balance of fiction and non-fiction.
Writing and spelling
The GREAT thing about having a love for reading (and a consistent habit of it) is that it naturally improves your spelling and writing. Kalyra’s ability to express herself in the written form is quite extraordinary.
Journal writing will be a critical part of our school work. Expressing yourself without any rules is of utmost priority.
Many many students I taught wouldn’t write because they were worried about spelling words wrong or not getting the conventions (as the teacher instructed) right. I hated this. It killed so many good writers and idea sharers. I just want kids to write.
Express yourself, however, you feel. Get in the flow and stay there.
I am considering purchasing this writing program for Kalyra once we get to the States for more formalized instruction. I love writing, but I hate teaching it.
Maths
Maths (how we say it in Australia) is of the biggest concern for me for our homeschooling while traveling. Kalyra is on grade level for it, but it’s important I keep these skills up. The ability to solve a problem, to think in different ways, and to quickly compute in your head are so so essential to thrive in life.
Schools race through curriculum outcomes (because they’re pressured with too many) and kids are moving up the grades without mental maths skills and strong basic foundations.
At the moment I am doing a lot of work with Kalyra on mental maths strategies. This will definitely be the core focus of our maths work. Once you master this, the other concepts built upon them can be learned so much easier.
The fun side of maths – space, position and shapes she’s mastering quite quickly and will be incorporated as we go.
Interest-based learning
There’s no better way to learn than through pursuing something you’re interested in. Quit wasting time on things that don’t matter!
YouTube is brilliant for interest-based learning. Kalyra was watching instructional videos recently from our friend Chrissy from Hair Romance on how to make certain hairstyles for her favorite American Girl Doll.
She’s also watching Life Hacks and tests them at home. Last night she experimented with a hack for keeping water cold all day long in your bottle! She’s most impressed with what she’s learning to make her life easier!!
I thought it would be really great to implement some lessons and units of work on her beloved Harry Potter stories which she loves helping her to engage with the text on a deeper level and foster those higher order thinking skills.
Wrong!
She felt like I was taking apart something she loved and putting into the box called school lessons. I quickly stopped and let her just read the books and love them.
The really really cool thing is she takes care of the learning from those books herself.
She
draws pictures of scenes and characters
writes lists of things she’s going to buy at Harry Potter World
ranks the characters in order of preference
dramatizes scenes from the book
defines all the strange works and logs the spells
investigates the lives of the actors who played the characters and where they are now
watches the behind the scenes of the movies online
Listens to interviews with the actors.
And of course, we’ll be visiting Harry Potter World in Orlando which will help bring the world of the book alive for her. We did do an impromptu lesson where I asked her to research Harry Potter World in Orlando and The Making of Harry Potter World in London to decide which one she thought would have been better.
She did a fantastic job of explaining to me the pros and cons of each, and which one she’d choose to go to and why. (Her original thought was Orlando, but after her research, she decided the studio tour in London would be better as you actually get to see the studios and how they made the movies.)
See what children can do when we leave them alone and let them follow their passions?
She has no idea how much she is actually learning by doing all of this. She’s created her own unit of work on the books. These are the literacy activities teachers will create to help students gain greater meaning from the text and develop those higher order thinking skills. You have no idea how many cartwheels I wanted to do over this.
Literacy based learning will mostly take this form for us as we travel. If I feel need to do anything more formalized, I will, but for now, let’s let her run with it and not box-squash it.
Creating Youtube videos
Both girls have their own YouTube channel, and we’re just getting their blogs up. They are set to private for now. I don’t want to feel that pressure of the public eye for now and be searching for self-worth validation by the number of views or likes they get. The girls don’t want them to be public either.
I want the girls to pursue this path. Purely because they have such a great talent and love for it. They help us create our own travel videos, but the stuff they do together when they play and make videos for fun is incredible.
They learn so much from it as well. I’m pretty impressed with what they do in regards to camera angles, reframing, and scripting. I help them to create titles and descriptions for each video.
Kalyra has such a talent for drama. She’s very witty, does funny impersonations, and nails an American accent. She reminds me of Natalie Tran. I can definitely see a future in drama or film production for her. But, put her in front of a live audience and she completely clams up. I so wish she didn’t feel so insecure to not share as she’s brilliant.
Savannah is also thrilled to be creating her own YouTube videos as well and is so cute in how she speaks to her “Audience.” We had an impromptu lesson the other day on how to find the right lighting for filming.
Plus, sometimes we’re interviewed or filmed for TV. I can see how they have applied what they have observed in their own filming. #lifelearning
I want both of them to just create because they love it. When, and if, they’re ready to share it with the world, we’ll set it to public. I hope by then they’re strong and confident in their creation to not care about the metrics.
My challenge is to help them be comfortable expressing who they are without fear of being ridiculed or judged. I do not want them to allow others to turn off their light. Small steps. They’ve already spoken to me about haters, which we spoke about (we have a bit of experience with them) and I shared with them:
Haters are just signposts to help us stay true to ourselves and develop faith in who we are and what we offer. We never let haters stop us from shining our light and sharing our message. We use their hates as an opportunity to practice gratitude and express kindness.
Cooking
Savannah has a passion for cooking with me – rarely a passion for eating what we cook together. Kalyra has started to take on baking responsibilities and teach her sister. She’s nailing those higher order thinking skills as a result.
I can take care of teaching them the cooking myself, but I thought to make it a more engaging and fun learning experience to purchase the Kids Cook Real Food course. We love it!
Savannah loves watching the videos to learn about knife skills and spreading butter, and then she has her turn to practice. It’s a bit more of a systemised way to learn and ensures I don’t miss gaps. She’s very thorough in teaching the kids to master the necessary skills.
Homeschooling resources
There are a lot of free homeschooling resources online as well as paid. Free often means a lot more work on my behalf. So if I find a homeschooling resource that will save me time and help my children prosper, I’ll purchase it.
Reading Eggs
Reading Eggs is by far the most brilliant program for teaching kids to read. We used it in schools when I was a teacher, and I have purchased the learn to read kit for Savannah, and the online membership for Kalyra.
I am thrilled that they also offer maths instructions and at Kalyra’s level.
Reading Eggs helps me cover skill based learning. It’s engaging and fun, and they can easily independently work through the lessons and games.
Savannah has reading books and workbooks that align with each lesson. There are also bonus worksheets I can print off for further practice and flashcards for us to play games with.
We’ve only been using Reading Eggs for a few weeks with Savannah, and she read her first sentence the other day. There were a lot of cartwheels and cheers happening them.
The program comes with stickers and tracking charts to help kids see their progress and test how they are mastering concepts. They can earn eggs within the program, which they can spend in the store on clothes and accessories for their avatar and furniture for their rooms etc.
Kalyra has lessons on grammar, spelling, vocabulary, comprehension and applying specific reading skills. Both girls do this for about 30 minutes x 4 days a week.
Reading Eggs is the core program I use for Savannah in regards to reading and maths, with a few of the resources from TestingMom listed below. You can get a free 2-week trial here.
TestingMom
Testing Mom is my next go-to resource for homeschooling. The membership is fantastic value and worth it if you are homeschooling, or even if you want your children to have extra practice at home.
Testing Mom is designed by parents to help other parents and their kids aged Pre-K through the 8th grade develop a lifelong love of learning.
The site features fun skill-building games, challenging learning activities, and test prep materials for all 50 states making it very beneficial for schools where standardized testing (blah) is a huge part of the education system.
TestingMom gives you access to hundreds of standardized testing for practice (Australia and the US) and resources for those gifted learners. I use it the testing side to check in on my daughter’s progress to ensure I am keeping up with grade level. And I will continue to use it as a resource when the girls return to school, especially if testing is involved!
I mostly use Testing Mom for the access to the many online sites, lessons, videos, books, and games that you get access to as part of the membership. I use it for both Savannah and Kalyra and some of the core programs we use are:
Savannah: Hear Builder, Fun Tree, Reading Kingdom, GoNoodle
Kalyra: Reflex Maths, Mathletics, BrainPop, Spellodrome, CoreClicks, Wordly Wise, GoNoodle, ClayPiggy (financial literacy)
Testing Mom makes homeschooling on the road much easier for me and fun for the kids.
You can start with 100 free practice questions on TestingMom.com
Kahn Academy
Kahn Academy is free and has fantastic instructional videos and practice questions for maths, science, arts and humanities. We use it mostly for breaking down difficult concepts in Math. Sometimes the girls just don’t want to listen to their Mumma!
Skill based workbooks
You can pick up skill based books from bookstores or Amazon. They’re great to have on hand for extra practice for your child’s grade levels.
Here’s what we have:
Targeting Handwriting – We use Book 4 for NSW for Kalyra. She enjoys handwriting, and I don’t want her to lose the fine art of it!
Signpost Maths Grade 4 – this helps me to keep learning on target with curriculum outcomes. If Kalyra needs more instruction with the concepts in this, I work through it with her or we use the instructional videos in Kahn Academy or BrainPOP to help. And then practice those skills in Mathletics or one of the other math resources via Testing Mom
Basic skills – I have Excel Basic Skills for 4th and 5th grade for English, maths, spelling, and vocab. You can pick up similar on Amazon. We do one unit a week, and it helps me to see what Kalyra needs more help with.
Sight Word Books – the Reading Eggs kit I purchased for Savannah more than covers me for her beginning reading work. I have a couple of other workbooks to use for sight words and vocabulary and reading comprehension.
Puzzle Books
Puzzles and quizzes are a fun and easy way to get kids to learn in a higher order thinking way.
Take advantage of the kids’ activity packs they get on tours or resorts. They are relevant, emphasize what they have learned and done on tour, helps them learn new vocabulary and apply the learning in a new way.
A couple of other books Kalyra likes:
Boredom Buster Book This is a great one to get them thinking creatively on those long journeys.
The Little Children’s travel activity book and the Travel Activity Book
Travel Books
I love anything from the Lonely Planet Kids range
Travel Journals If you are traveling around Australia, you cannot miss these amazing travel journals.
Leap and Hop Travel Guides is a series of travel books that invite curious children to discover and understand different cultures while playing, drawing, scrapbooking, doodling, collecting and observing. They’re cool. We have the one for New York, and Kalyra is itching to get there and use it. She’s already done some of the activities to prepare.
Helping kids find wonder in the everyday by Caroline Webster This is an excellent book with easy outdoor and indoor activities to inspire children. It can be incorporated into your travels.
Stickers and rewards
Kids will do anything for a sticker!!
I have a pile of stickers and rewards, which I give to the girls when they’ve done outstanding work, grasped a concept, or displayed important character traits like kindness and respect. They love them!
Stationary and tablets
Each girl has their own pencil case/organizer, similar to this. A set of coloured pencils, markers, lead pencils and gel pens.
Each also has a Samsung Tablet, a set of headphones, and a ProCase cover. Do not forget the cover!!!
We use these for the girls to film their vidoes, play games, watch movies and research – either school based learning or fun.
I have no problem with the girls watching movies or playing games on the tablet, especially on long road trips or flights. They have more than enough time pursuing other interests outside of the devices. We keep the balance in check.
Other homeschooling resources
Hip Homeschooling Blog I found Rebecca’s blog helpful for gaining information on the best way my kids learn and different resource and curriculum ideas.
HSLDA is a membership based site to assist homeschoolers through various legal aspects of homeschooling in the US. There’s lots of useful information on here.
Homeschooling Curriculum Lots of useful information on this site.
Teaching Textbooks is a useful program for maths instruction. I’m considering this for when we get to the US if what I have planned for math does not work.
Rosetta Stone for language learning, or just take classes in the local area while you are traveling! There is also a language program within TestingMom called Mango.

Our homeschooling on the road routine
Kalyra expressed her unhappiness at having to do school work the other day and how unfair it was because everyone was on school holidays. I explained that Mrs. Makepeace’s school was completely different now and here’s why:
1-2 hours a day versus six and we choose our holidays rather than be told when to have them.
So for now, while we are waiting around for our visas and not doing anything, we’re going to do as much work as we can so that next month, when we’re in Hawaii and want to go stand up paddle boarding, we won’t have to say no. She got the picture and is happy to do some work each day.
So yes, it’s summer break in Australia and school is in.
We fit the homeschooling in with our life.
We aim to do 1-2 hours a day. The rest is life learning.
I can assure you based on my year’s of teaching experience, not much of the six hours of learning time at school is devoted to deep learning. There are too many interruptions and too many children in the classroom.
You can achieve waaaaaaay more when you work one-on-one with a child for an hour a day than you will in an entire week at school. They pick up concepts and skills so very quickly as there are no distractions and you can speak in a learning language they understand.
We tend to do our school work first thing in the morning when their (and my) energy and focus is best. It’s very challenging to get them to do work after they’ve been playing for the day.
We have the guidelines set that they can’t play outside, with their toys, notepads or friends until their work is done. I usually have one sitting with me to do any bookwork or focused learning, while the other is on the computer doing independent work. Then we swap, or alternate, each day.
We tend to do book work one day (1-2 pages for Math and English), one day on the computer with reading eggs, specialized instruction, and games.
If we have busy travel schedules, we’ll work the lessons around that. We can change the times around. Some work they can do in the car as we’re traveling.
If we have a quiet travel day we’ll do more work on those days to compensate for the days we have off.
It takes time to get into the homeschooling routine. See if you can establish it before you set off on your travels. It sounds like we’re doing a lot, but the majority of our homeschooling is life learning. I just have a lot of homeschooling resources to make it much easier for the girls and me.
Final thoughts on homeschooling on the road
We’re all about unplugging from the chaos – from the things that don’t matter, the shoulds, have tos and musts – so we can reconnect to what is important. Homeschooling, Unschooling, and Worldschooling allow me to do that.
I think we thrive the best when we’re given the freedom to think and live outside the box, pursue our passions and interests and learn the relevant skills and information that apply to it.
Homeschooling on the raod allows us to connect to and learn from the present moment. It offers more space for living a life that matters.
Cull cull cull. Give more time for children to play, explore, investigate, discover, engage and interact.
This could definitely change as we travel. We’ll keep you updated. Are there any particular topics you would like us to write about? Please let us know in the comments
Life Learning for kids
I have a new free ebook, you can access, called Life Learning for Kids – 31 ways to empower your kids to grow, learn and prosper – in school and out.
Click to grab your copy now!
I am super passionate about empowering children to become the best version of themselves. I don’t think schools have the capacity to do the best job of this, so this ebook was written with the intention to help parents fill in the gaps, as well as help you get the best out of the school experience you can.
It’s a collection of articles I wrote for an online parenting website on how Learning Matters. In it, you’ll find 31 strategies to help your children become those thriving beings.
There are two sections in the ebook, Your Child and Life and Your Child and School.
These are based on what I have learned through my experiences as a mother, former teacher, global traveler, entrepreneur, and homeschooler. It will help any parent, traveling or not!
