I was watching the Fortune teller episode for Atla and I was just thinking about Aang’s fortune and how there wasn’t anything outside of ending the war. (beside this being a will they won’t they moment) it also kind of imply Aang was highly destined to died in the end like he had not future thats kind of scary!

Okay, fuck it. Extremely niche Tellius AU that's relevant only to me probably because I haven't known there to be an intersection between Saiki K and Fire Emblem fans, let's goooo
Started this whole thing thinking about Kaido as a heron. He can be a black heron, as a treat, he would LOVE being the Jet Black Wings for real. Plus herons can channel magic through their singing, which I think he also would like. They're also, unfortunately, a bit physically frail, though that doesn't meant they won't try to throw a punch lmao. I think it works for him.
Teruhashi should be a heron too, obviously (I was actually thinking it would be cute if she was some sort of princess like the heron family in FE9/10 and Kaido was kind of like Nealuchi just generally looking after her). It gives her the ethereal and beautiful vibes she would need. Though I was also thinking maybe a heron-raven mix? Or maybe heron-heron but a white and black one. Prominently appearing to be a heron with white wings but maybe some black feathers here and there, just like her aura.
Saiki would obviously be a dragon. The only dragon there because it's what he deserves. A pink dragon since that's canonically a thing too, but we are ignoring the power hierarchy between the colors, shhh, he can be overpowered anyway. The whole thing with the dragons isolating themselves from pretty much everyone else fits him too.
I want Nendo to be a tiger laguz. Not for anything in particular, he just has the built for it, he's big and strong and he also reminds me a little about Mordecai, who's pretty much the gentle giant trope. It's what Nendo deserves, I think.
I was thinking a tiger branded for Kuboyasu. He would still be way more physically strong than an average person since most of the feline branded seem to have inherited that from their laguz side, plus I think it would be neat. Also branded do tend to have that wariness of both laguz and humans, leaning more against laguz, which honestly could work for Kuboyasu.
(Also I found it amusing to make the guys shipped with Saiko tiger related stuff. Sorry lmao)
Speaking of Saiko, I'm either thinking normal human but from a prominent family (tentatively thinking Daein though that would make him a king or a heir prince) or perhaps a hawk because nobody else in the list would be a hawk. He can still be a royal of Phoenicis as a hawk anyway.
Yumehara I was thinking a cat laguz. Spunkier than suspected given that they're smaller than every other laguz, and still quite intense. Also I think she would look really cute, she reminds me of Lyre in that sense. Going half on vibes here.
I wanted most of them to be laguz or such, rather than normal people, but I think it would be super funny if Hairo WAS a normal human, just super intense about his training and very intent on beating Nendo in strength anyway, despite Nendo just wanting to chill and make friends. So ridiculously energetic that people might suspect he's not fully human but nope, he's just like that (alternatively, another cat).
I'm gonna be honest, I have absolutely no idea for Mera, I was thinking normal human for her as well. Maybe another tiger? I kinda want to make someone a wolf but the vibes don't feel right neither for her not for Hairo. Maybe she can be a branded too, I don't know. Tentatively making her a lion because I think it would be equally funny and sad if she's straight up from royal lineage but something happened like in canon that made her lose status.
Rushing to make Aiura a heron branded just so she can have Micaiah's fortune telling sick powers. Maybe she can have the sacrifice healing as well, as a treat, because it feels like something she would love to use to rescue others even though it's reckless to use it since it's healing while depleting her own health.
For Toritsuka I was thinking normal human, but one who has made a pact with the spirits so he can be a Spirit Charmer. It doesn't work this way in Tellius but this is my AU and I'm making up my own rules, so I'm saying this not only allows him communication with the magic spirits but also with ghosts so he can have his gimmick. He's a mage now, yay.
Akechi I think would be so funny as a normal human who STILL can read everyone for filth. Not a particularly good combatant or anything, and he's another case of "he's so good at his thing you think he SURELY has to have something going on, but no, he's just like that". Especially funny if nobody else is a normal human.
Once again breaking lore rules but I was thinking Kusuke could be a branded that did not manifest any marks or special skills, so for any purposes he seems like a normal human vs Kusuo being fully a dragon, which could keep their dynamic of him feeling humiliated by his little brother despite his cleverness and brains.
Now, as per the breaking lore rules, that's because I was thinking Kurumi could be a dragon (red would be cool, I'm truly fully ignoring the color based strength here) and Kuniharu could be a normal human. Kurumi can STILL lose her powers due to the human-laguz union. For flavor. It doesn't work this way but Kusuo would be inheriten the full scope of her powers while Kusuke gets nothing.
As for why are even all these people in the same place to interact in the first place, I have no idea because I'm not really planning to make this into a classic Fire Emblem war story lmao. Maybe they all go to an academy together a la Three Houses? That could be fun.

"Mystery on a Moonlit Cruise" Track 3
Tumblr media
Location: Cruise Ship ・Party Hall
Yukikaze: What seems to be the problem, Ryui?
Wait, I see it now too. None of them have a comfortable pillow to enjoy their naps on.
Ryui: Yeah, no—What I’m talking about is how insane it is that so many people spontaneously fell asleep at the same time.
Even if they’re just sleeping, that doesn’t change the fact that someone did something to Toi. I’m not gonna rest until I find the rotten criminal behind this and give them a fist straight to the head.
Muneuji: Criminal…? You’re saying that someone intentionally caused this?
Nanaki: Huh…? You mean there’s a person like that hiding on the ship?
Netaro: Impossible. There isn't a single trace of an intelligent life form outside of this room. Every person aboard this ship is right here, fast asleep!
Yukikaze: Are you sure?
Netaro: The ‘Lifeform Heartbeat Detection Radar’ I invented isn’t picking up a thing!
Nanaki: (Why does he have one of those…?)
Netaro: I bet you’re wondering why I have one of those! I made it just now!
Ryui: Then that has to mean…
Tumblr media
Muneuji: The culprit is among the 5 of us…?
Yukikaze: It can’t be…could I have unconsciously caused this mass slumber without realising…?
Netaro: The clueless trope! A strange commodity in mystery media~!
Nanaki: N-No, that has to be wrong. How could Kamina-san have done this when he was with me walking from the sun deck to the party hall?
Netaro: And what about before that!? Before Yuki went up to the sun deck, weren’t both of you all on your lonesome? Where’s your alibi for then?
Nanaki: Uh…that’s, well…
Tumblr media
Netaro: Just what were you doing outside, Nana?
Nanaki: I-I was, uh…
Sleeping Yodaka: I want to know…the deepest parts of you…
Sleeping Yachiyo: Haah…’m sorry…forgive me…mnngh…
Netaro: There shall be no forgiveness! I propose we conduct a thorough investigation!
Tumblr media
Yukikaze: I have no interest in casting doubt towards any of my little brothers.
Nanaki: I think there’s more important things we should be doing than an investigation. We can’t call for help as long as the phones are bugged so I say we prioritise checking the state of the ship and other stuff like that.
Muneuji: Fortunately, this ship is fully automated so there shouldn’t be anything stopping us from arriving at the port on schedule. I suggest we keep watch over everyone in the meantime and call the police once we get back—
Tumblr media
Netaro: Nooo, that’s no fun! I wanna find the criminal ourselves~~~~~! I’ll melt into a puddle if I get stuck doing nothing for too long.
Ryui: So you’re really just bored.
Netaro: Come on, don’t you wanna uncover the truth too, Ryui? I bet you do.
Ryui: …Let’s just share our alibis for now. We can start worrying about if one of us is the criminal after that.
Netaro: Mhm, mhm! Yuki and Nana aren’t the only subjects of suspicion here, after all.
Uji was suspiciously huffing and puffing when he joined the group and Ryui was all alone heaving around a huge suspicious bag!
Tumblr media
Ryui: I’m sick of hearing you of all people calling others suspicious.
Netaro: I’m on the chopping block too, of course!
Muneuji: If we’re going to have each suspect share their story, then I ask that I go first.
To clear my name, I would like to tell you all about something that I saw tonight.

Why do you insist on coddling fanfiction writers? Shouldn't we welcome constructive criticism so that we may improve? As a writer, I can't think of anything worse than resting my laurels on mediocre writing and developing hubris because everyone was too afraid to tell me how bad my fic really was.
I'm assuming this ask was prompted by the two posts I reblogged about fanfiction recently.
The first states that fanfic writers are working on their own projects. A reviewer telling them to write what they want to see isn't concrit. Unless the writer indicated that they aren't sure where to take the story and are looking for input, then telling a writer what to put in their fic is an attempt to have someone make content for you for free. If a reader wants specific content, they must write it, commission it, or seek out someone who is looking for prompts.
The second states that if you don't like a fic, then you shouldn't read it. The implication is that you should leave rather than leave a nasty review, but personally, I mostly take it as, "hey babe, your free time is precious, don't spend it on stuff you don't like." Again, this isn't about concrit. It's a warning against wasting your own time as a reader. Maybe the internet has always been this way, but there seem to be folks who engage in fandom by... Seeking out the exact opposite of what they like and then raging about it. In my opinion, this hurts everyone. Again, nothing here relates to concrit.
I'd say most writers like concrit, but concrit implies that the reader understood the work, possesses analytical skill, and cares about it enough to want to help the writer improve. If a reader cared about the fic, they wouldn't tell the writer to redo the work with their own preferences (ie, the reader's fave ships, tropes, whatever) (see the first above). At that point, what the reader wants is a different fic (see the second above), not to help this writer make their fic stronger. And if a reader dislikes the fic, its subject matter, whatever, then why would they waste their time giving concrit? They're just having a bad time and will probably not be able to provide concrit in good faith (see the second above).
If you're seeking concrit of your ask, and please do forgive me if you aren't, I'd gently suggest reading the original posts I reblogged more carefully. They make no mention of concrit. Also, they are not about coddling anyone, or even being kind. They're about readers using their most valuable resource- their time- more wisely, and also valuing the time of writers.
If you want concrit of your work, please indicate such in your fic, and also join a writing group. Most folks online don't have the free time or training to provide meaningful concrit, which will center on actual writing issues (pacing, management of exposition, cohesiveness of the narrative, etc). If someone is listing the ships and tropes they like and want to see in your fic in a review, that's not concrit. If someone is insulting your fic, that's not concrit. I'm sorry if you have accepted these things as concrit in the past. You deserve better- but also, you likely aren't going to find it for free, unless you have the incredible fortune of attracting a reader who loves your fic, has enough free time to engage deeply, and has some training in reviewing writing.
Meaningful concrit is a give and take thing. Expecting it for free is... A bit of an ask (although it does happen! I see you, review angels). So join a writing group that provides it, and give back in turn. Please don't hoist that expectation onto internet strangers. This kind of work is how you avoid resting on your laurels.
Oh, also, if you're looking for people to "tell you how bad your fic really was," there's... Probably a subreddit for that, assuming it hasn't imploded over the last few days. But again, "this fic is bad," is not concrit. That's... just an insult. If you want that, hey, go for it! But oh my goodness, please don't expect other people to want it in general. They don't. They really, really don't.
Best of luck to you on your writing journey.

(non-Miraculous asks)

Ok this may just be me but I hate deconstructions. I feel like they are always mean spirited and try to be dark and edgy and thinks that every single person is an asshole because that’s “realistic” when no it’s not. This maybe because I like superhero stories and love it when the heroes overcome their struggles.
I can agree for the most part. Whenever I hear “okay but what if it was dArK--” I’m just okay, gonna stop you right there.

I swear, nothing bothers me more than people who want Miraculous Ladybug to literally just be Yandere Simulator(with Marinette as Ayano, Alya as Info-chan, Adrien as Taro, Chloe as Osana, Lila as Kizana, Kagami as Megami, and Luka as Budo). It just grinds my gears, especially because they're, once again, framing Marinette as a stalker, which just makes her look bad, AND pits all the girls against each other for Mr. Generic Harem Protagonist, once a-fucking-gain. Just go play the actual game, ok?
All I'm hearing is that now I have to ship Ayano and Budo and write a fic where the ghost girl uses fancy fantasy magic to merge her soul with Ayano and lets her actually have emotions, healing her from being a yandere while the ghost girl (in a way) gets to live a life she was cut short of, also allowing Ayano to be happy and go onto be friends with all the rivals.
Extremely convoluted but that’s the only way we get happy endings in this house.

I remember how, when writing Sailor Moon, Naoko Takeuchi refused to bow to older male writers wanted, say, for the girls to be stereotypical manga characters, with one being overweight, one being a stereotypical nerd, etc. But Naoko wanted each of the girls to be beautiful and feminine. While I don't like that they all share a body type, I admire how she didn't listen to grown men when writing for and about young girls. And I can't help but think about how Madoka is the antithesis of all that.
I can appreciate writers who put their foot down to stick to their values. There are limits of course, but yeah, a women writing women probably shouldn’t be listening to a man’s input. I’m sure good advice exists buuut...

What is your ranking of the seasons of the year from most to least favorite and why?
Summer - I work best in the warmth
Spring - Always brings images of flowers blooming to mind
Autumn - Things are getting cold and I don’t like it
Winter - It can go choke for all I care

Someone on TV Tropes actually said that the name Feminist Fantasy should be changed because "feminism excludes men the same way meninism excludes women" and actually had the nerve to link that to the "Not So Different" trope, as if women haven't been excluded throughout the history of almost every human society. Fortunately, someone responded to them in a way that technically amounted to "do your damn research" but I'm still facepalming so hard at TV Tropes' "what about the men" rhetoric.
I feel like I lost braincells reading this.

I feel like in fiction written by men there are only three flaws that female protagonists are allowed to have: clumsy, boy-crazy, or ashamed of their flat chests. I hate it.
Don’t forget, “having to listen to the men for how they’re supposed to feel.”

Jatp. Nominated. For. Seven. Emmys. SEVEN!!!! Miraculous could NEVER. Literally.
omg!! Congrats to Julie and the Phantoms!
Anonymous asked:
WHAT ARE YOUR FLASHBACKS TO EVER AFTER HIGH?? I GOTTA KNOW? OMG?
Oh, I’ve seen basically the whole series, though the one I remember most is definitely Epic Winter. It was my favorite one though Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney movie so I’m biased.
I also like a lot of the “twists” and just--crazy concepts they rolled with, like with Red Riding Hood’s story and how Apple White gets woken up from her slumber.

You're gonna be happy to hear this...I just started watching Cardcaptor Sakura today, and holy shit not only do I love it, but I also love how freaking META it is! I know you said you're not all that knowledgeable about Magical Girl, but this show is AWARE that it's a Magical Girl show! From Tomoyo(the main reason this show is so meta, tbh) realizing Sakura is a Magical Girl and asking if she has a transformation pose, to designing outfits for her(more on that later) to videotaping her(aka literally making a Magical Girl anime out of her Magical Girl friend), it just has fun with itself and plays with Magical Girl tropes without making a mockery of them like all those "dark" male-aimed ones do(lookin' at you, Madoka Magica and Yuki Yuna!).
And not only is it hilarious and adorable(especially with Sakura's crush on Yukito, Tomoyo's crush on Sakura, and Touya picking on Sakura, but playfully), but I love how it's riddled with girl power. While watching some of the first episodes I was looking forward to seeing Syaoran(partly because I love male Tsunderes and partly because I can't pronounce his name), and was surprised that he wasn't in the first few episodes, but more importantly I was so happy to see a show that treats its female characters with respect and shows women unironically receiving support from other women and being shown possessing power and authority.
I love Sakura and Tomoyo's friendship even if I hate the trope of "Lesbian Never Gets The Girl"(not that I think she's entitled to Sakura's affections or anything, but still.) and watching her support Sakura in her magic endeavors without being jealous or vindictive, I love that they're allowed to be independent and smart but that the show doesn't forget that they're kids, instead of making them like Manon and Chris, and I love that the show passes the Bechdel test in pretty much the first or second episode, and that pretty much every important and unimportant character we meet that's not Sakura's family members, Kero, or Yukito(plus maaaayyybe the Shadow Clow Card) are female.
Even little things, like all FOUR of Tomoyo's bodyguards in the second episode being female without there being a "reason" or the show making a big deal of it(either in a "yay girl power!" way or a "what but women can't x" way or an objectifying way) fills me with insurmountable joy. Also, I love that the show follows the Magical Girl trend of pretty much admitting that femininity is power, since frilly dresses are stated to be the most "fitting" thing for a Cardcaptor to wear, as without it, they might not be mentally up to the task, and this is an unironic truth rather than a joke(although Sakura is shown to be embarrassed, but it's much more likely that she's simply not used to that kind of gear due to not being rich as Tomoyo is.) or a gag.
I just thought I should tell you this because I know you like Cardcaptor Sakura, and with the crappy episodes that just came out of this show, I think you deserve to read an ask that's about a GENUINE girl power Magical Girl show, instead of yet more Miraculous Ladybug salt or Madoka Magica hate(not that there's anything wrong with either of those two, but it just gets grating after a while.). Overall, I'm looking forward to watching this show, since I've been looking for a Magical Girl show to watch nowadays(I've been meaning to watch Star Twinkle Precure but I can't find the third episode and all of Cardcaptor Sakura is on YouTube now, so.). So excited!
Hey, I’m glad that you’re having fun with it!
Though, just a warning, you might wanna steer clear of the Clear Card arc. It’s a sequel to the original series made waaaay after the original (think the equivalent of Yashahime for Inuyasha, though continuing with the original characters) but omg I hated it.
Anonymous asked:
With the crappy Season 4 episodes that just came out I'm glad I got into Cardcaptor Sakura when I did. Who needs "Marinette needs to make a mistake every episode and learn something from it" when you can have genuine girl power and sweetness incarnate?
Alya could never compete with Tomoyo, I’m just sayin’.
Anonymous asked:
Your comment about white men feeling "disenfranchised" because more shows are about black people and/or women(I say and/or because the two aren't mutually exclusive.), as if there aren't a million other things they could be watching instead is so true! It reminds me of how I was talking to someone recently about the new generation of MLP, in which I stated that we didn't need a male mane pony(spoiler alert: they have one, sadly.), and he claimed that it would be beneficial since many shows aimed at boys at least try to include at least one main girl, and that it would be good for G5 of MLP to have at least one strong male lead so that boys could have a role model and know that the show isn't "girly".
Okay, so far, so good, but this I could chalk up to just unconscious internalized misogyny, especially since he didn't say it in any sort of "way". So I respectfully told him that the scale regarding representation is already not equal and that boys can look up to girls and that a show being girly is not a bad thing and all that stuff that you already know about. Then he responded claiming some stuff about how he keeps trying to pitch stories about straight white male characters and how nobody is accepting his offers and so this means that straight white men are underrepresented compared to everyone else. He even explicitly said, and I quote "White people are actually critically underrepresented in media right now. Especially boys."; I swear to the Goddess above.
At this point I was officially upset as a black girl, to hear this white(and presumably adult) man telling me that he was underrepresented in media compared to me, even saying that the media execs are practicing "quotas and tokenization"(and yes, he repeatedly used those terms for any instance of representation, even when I asked him politely to stop.) by replacing women with men or white people with pocs and are making white men look like incompetent doofuses.
He also kept saying stuff about how shows are always shoehorning people of color in where they don't belong by casting them in settings such as Shakespeare and medieval times when "realistically" there were no people of color during those time periods(which is obviously not true, it's just not what the history books show us.), and made a really insensitive comment about how black children in the USA today don't know the significance of having the first black president because the media supposedly already shows them black people in various professions(despite also claiming he couldn't speak to the "black experience" and yet here he is whitesplaining that shit.).
It got to the point where he was seriously and unironically using the word "blackwashing". When I pointed out to him that white men aren't underrepresented and that it's just his self-centered ego telling him that they are, that the word "blackwashing" isn't a thing, and that mis/underrepresentation in media DOES affect black kids negatively(even citing myself as an example) he went on to claim that I was being tone-deaf and that "blackwashing" is just as bad as whitewashing, and that making Ariel black is just as bad as making Jasmine white.
At this point I had to bang my head on the table and explain to him the difference; his ass still wouldn't get it. Eventually he started saying some really skeevy and hypocritical shite that white men say all the time when whining about how "oppressed and underrepresented" they are: that black people and/or women
(it looks like there might be an ask missing here, in which case, sorry if Tubmlr ate it!)
avor of supporting the commonly believed LIE that "women and/or minority groups don't have as much history worth learning about, so there's no point in focusing on them." He also kept using patronizing, condescending, mansplaining language such as "let me explain it to you" or "you still don't get it do you?", and when he said women had nothing to contribute to society because "oppression" he even had the nerve to tack on "welcome to the unequal society" as if I hadn't been lecturing him about just that.
Because obviously only white men did anything worthwhile or important in history. At this point, I had to block him. I couldn't take it anymore and this was on an MLP site of all places(although I'm probably just as guilty of that part, but at least I wasn't an ass!). I just can't stand white men who "want to be oppressed so bad" but still want to claim that their achievements are more important and deserve to be more prominent. Honestly, so many white men are so fragile the second they're not in the spotlight. I can't help but think that despite all the privilege afforded to their class being a white man sounds like the worst thing ever.
“he claimed that it would be beneficial since many shows aimed at boys at least try to include at least one main girl, and that it would be good for G5 of MLP to have at least one strong male lead so that boys could have a role model and know that the show isn't "girly". “
I might be looking too deep into that but I don’t like the idea of, “Well WE squeezed in a girl and therefore YOUR SHOWS--” like it’s some sort of matter of “fairness” or that boys’ shows aren’t putting in girls out of a genuine like for them but because they “need” one or it’s some sort of obligation.
Also, we need to stop this idea that boys can’t look up to female characters and vice versa for girls. You already said it but yeah.
And yeah, I hear "quotas and tokenization" and I officially tune out of whatever the person is saying, lol. White men are critically underrepresented???? Newsflash, maybe it’s just because others are being represented more??
Just the whole thing about whites being “underrepresented” boggles my mind. White people don’t have some sort of special ability or skill that other races can’t do themselves unless you count the “superpower” of white privilege.
Like, oh my god, all that “whitesplaining” and having to read the word “blackwashing” was physically painful. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. I don’t know how they got hold of the technology to communicate with you from whatever time period their from, presumably the Stone Age.
Don’t even blame you for blocking them. There’s just a level of absolute... blindness? Arrogance??? That comes with the territory with them sometimes, I swear. You had every right to be upset; other races come to ask for equality and fair representation and suddenly you have these white men (not all obviously but damn) coming by and crying that they’re being oPpReSsEd. U_U
Like, honestly, my father in particular is absolutely that kind of person so I’ve heard that kind of stuff before. it’s all gross.
On a slightly unrelated note (trying to end this with some positivity), I hadn’t even heard about a fifth generation of MLP until I read this, and just wanted to let you know that I really hope you have a really good time with it! Hopefully the male character isn’t... well, you know.

Today I will be addressing SuperCorp and some of the issues that have been floating around about fandom. And I will be saying some stuff that both is for it and could be used against it even though I am ultimately a super big supercorp fan. Like it says in the tags you're free to express your opinion but they will not be changing mine but I am always open-minded to opinions that can actually be explained and eloquently expressed (receipt's needed) and aren't just basic. Also just so what is noted I have been a part of this fandom since the first episode I have literally shipped Kara with everyone from Lucy to Cat even James. But Lena has just stuck out the most for me but I'm Equal opportunity.
Number #1, Lena's character in no way shape or form has ever been xenophobic she has never once shown any hate towards aliens her problem with Kara in season 5 Wasn't because she was an alien it was because she was a "Super" like Kara could have been a flying purple fucking octopus from the planet of shzjxfdf and Lena wouldn't have gave two fucks but no she was a "Super"but let's dig deeper on that point if we really look at why she was mad it wasn't even the whole alien aspect it was because she wasn't told and no I don't think she's entitled to it but I do think it played into the fact of a trust issue she has with the fact that people would think she would be just like Lex if she had been told Sooner. Which is disproved in 5x13 (also personal note: I also think she wouldn't have reacted half as bad if Kara had just told her that night at game night or the next day when she wanted to probably still would have been pissed but not to the same extent). But okay with that being said I do disagree with the kryptonite entrapment torture scene and basically half the s*** she did in season 5 it was shown that she truly can tap into her Luthor side and be dark when wanted but fortunately she does always return to the light and in all fairness it has been shown several times that Kara has a dark side of her own that could rival the luthors.
Number #2, I do disagree with the abuse of actresses and actors just because of a ship and or character they play don't blame them it's just a job they have I think Melissa and Katie do a beautiful job of bringing Kara and Lena's characters to life couldn't imagine anybody else playing them.
Number #3, I also will say about the reason bombarding of comments on Nicole's social media at least I saw the video via tiktok in that video was fucking hilarious I love Nia, Dreamer, and Nicole in general she's funny and beautiful and is an advocate for everything good in life and well it is normal to even ask other actors if they have the scoop on anything it does not mean we need to be bombarding them in videos on something relating to their character or their love of something a simple comment or so maybe but what I saw NO.
Number #4, The William of it all well I think though his character seems like a nice gentleman he also seems to be bland as hell also I did not know he was a POC to be honest I thought he was a tan white man and we'll be doing further research on people in the future as I can learn from my ignorance also but unrelated I did not know that the woman who played Maggie was apparently just a tan white woman I thought she was of some sort of Hispanic descent but apparently not according to various things I've read on here tonight... But anyways back to William I feel like a lot of people might have perceived him as a white man therefore that might play into the whole scenario of people hate that they just want two white woman together when it proves if she was a man they wouldn't give two f**** about it whether that's true or not I don't know but mine two cents.
Number #5, I will never bash someone for being for or against a certain ship and or character and well I am allowed to certainly disagree with their opinion all opinions are valid because we all see the world a different way some see it bright and shiny and others like I'll admit myself see it through the glasses of trauma. And I think that's why we all have the opinions we do most of the time when you like a shipper character it's because you relate to them somehow even if it's the most minor thing to someone else it might be huge for you. You never know what the person on the other side of the screen is going through in those characters or ship or fanfiction might have literally saved their lives.
Sidenote: Like okay personal story I was been both mentally and sexually abused as a child so I relate to both Kara and Lena respective childhood trauma so that draws me to them. And I kind of see them both as the opposite attract trope (two side of the same coin) because well we never fully get over trauma Kara had a great support system with the Danvers whereas Lena didn't get that with the luthors I mean sure she had Lex at first but even that was only to a certain extent because of his psychopathy that was starting to manifest he couldn't perceive human emotions the same as Lena who in my opinion is just a big mushy nerd who can be a badass when needed as evident by the season 6 episodes after she's quit L-Corp she's constantly trying to help out inventing new stuff and she's wondering how Nia's suit works and it just shows that she just has a curious mind and also she looks happier even with the guilt she feels over Kara's phantom zone incident when Nia called her a part of the family that smile could lit up a city all she's ever wanted is to belong and I can relate to that therefore to her.
Number #6, I feel like this should have been addressed in earlier number but as far as sexuality goes I would want to believe Kara is pansexual because of everything I've ever read and saw I don't believe she perceived sexuality like humans do because of her Kryptonian upbringing for the first good chunk of the life. Like even though she says she's not gay in the first episode, A. It was the first episode so they didn't even know where the story was going in future seasons if they got them also that means maybe she just didn't perceive herself as the Earth's definition of gay. B. Even in the first season she made a comment about how she bought Lucy was gorgeous and hell she would date her. C. She made some comments about Irma and other woman that don't sound totally heterosexual and don't get me wrong women can admire the beauty and intelligence of other women without it being sexual but as a bisexual woman it just struck a cord in me you can tell the difference when it's coming from a straight woman mouth. Now on the subject of her and Lena strictly I do think there are instances of "queerbaiting"because just because you perceive they haven't been promised to us doesn't mean that some of us haven't picked up on things or the fact that they're simply queerbating because somehow they do hype up Kara and Lena to keep a nice chunk of the audience who ships them mainly those of the gay variety interested in the show which is also considered queerbaiting. Also the fact that they've been called sisters or family or my personal favorite "that's what friends are for"doesn't mean crap because honestly at this point the overuse of friends just sounds more like they're trying to convince themselves than us.*** Also I don't know about you but even on the basic level of things they've done I've never shown half those feelings towards my friends and the ones I have it's because I started to think of them as more than friends.
Now with Lena's sexuality no they have never shown her as anything besides straight canonically but don't get me wrong she totally sends off that college experimentation vibe especially with Andrea for some reason but that may just be me.
Number #7, my main point is let's just be kind to one another because guess what there is toxicity from every ship in a fandom there will always be shitty people on both sides and then there will be those of us who just want to see the characters together for one reason or another and yes I'm not afraid to admit that part of my reasons I want to see two gorgeous woman kiss sue me LOL.
Number #8, the conclusion of my rant is that how about we leave the hating to the ones who want to do that and the rest of us like adults or whatever your age is in the fandom that has any type of maturity behave because I truly do wish the best and in the end well I hope they end up together I'm realistic that they probably won't especially due to the CW Network motto of "homophobia and racism"because they've already broken up several good gay and interracial couples on that show. But at the end of the day my true wish is just that all of the characters end up happy and healthy.
Best of luck to all shippers out there anti and supercorp and or any other couple alike may we try to make it out of this with a modicum of sanity and even if they fail us we always have fanfiction thank you and good night.

Prompt: Patience
Also on AO3 “Be patient with him.”
That had been Drift’s advice when Rodimus broke the news to him that Megatron and him were now “a thing.”  He’d little more to say on the matter at all.  Just that he was happy for him.  Oh, and that he’d kill Megatron if he hurt Rodimus.  Which was fair.
Rodimus regretted that he hadn’t really asked for clarification on what he’d meant.  Be patient with what?  Did he just need a lot of foreplay or something?
Whatever.  He didn’t dwell too much.
They kept to themselves for a little while.  Just long enough to spread the news to close friends and to smooth things over with Ultra Magnus before it got to the rumour mill. It took a week or so before they decided to just announce it (which was weird and awkward… but necessary), so now the whole ship knew.  Now they could just be a normal couple, right?
Rodimus strolled onto the bridge happily, for once. He walked right up to Megatron, touched his arm, and went to get up onto the fore of his pedes when Megatron took a half-step away.
“Good morning, Rodimus.”
Rodimus tried not to look hurt.  “Morning.”
Megatron awkwardly patted his hand, then got back to what he’d been doing.
Rodimus sheepishly made his way to the office, feeling optics on him.  The day passed slowly in a haze of rejection and paperwork.
The next day, he tried to walk normally and keep up a smile.  Again, he made a beeline for Megatron.  This time, he wasn’t engrossed in any work, and noticed Rodimus before he got to him. He went to do the same thing, and again, he stepped out of his reach.
“What gives?” Rodimus hissed.
“We’re at work.”
“Hmph.  Fine.” Rodimus stewed for a bit, but managed to lose himself in his work.  Plus, it was easy to look forward to the end of the day.  Megatron had agreed to go with him to Swerve’s for trivia night. If I must, he’d said.
Still.  They wouldn’t be at work.  He couldn’t refuse a kiss then, right?
“I’ve got an idea to make this a little more interesting,” Rodimus said later, sitting across the table from Megatron.
“Oh?”  Megatron looked wary.
“Well, I know most of the people here are on teams, but what if we competed?”
“I thought the point of this night was to be a couple’s thing?” Megatron asked, looking confused.
Rodimus shrugged.  “It’s not like a rule or anything.  That’s just what tends to happen.  But we’re both pretty smart, so I think it’d be fun to see who’s the smartest.”
Megatron shrugged.  “If that’s what you want.”
“Hold on, I’m not finished.  I haven’t gotten to the stakes.”
“I’m beginning to regret agreeing to this.”
Rodimus rolled his optics, annoyance creeping into his field.  “Don’t worry, it’s nothing bad.  I just figured that if one of us gets an answer wrong that the other gets right, the one who got it wrong owes the other a kiss.  Kind of a win-win situation, y’know?”
“Or you could just ask for a kiss.”
“Come on, Megs,” Rodimus whined.  “Can’t we just have a little fun?  Please?”
Megatron sighed.  “Alright, Rodimus.”
Fortunately, or unfortunately for Rodimus, they were both either really good at trivia or Swerve was really bad at coming up with trivia questions.  Either way, they hadn’t gotten any answers wrong.  It was time to take matters into his own hands.
“Whoops, looks like I got that one wrong,” Rodimus said, sarcastically feigning disappointment.  “Darn! Looks like I owe you a kiss.”  He crooked a finger at Megatron, pursing his lips slightly.
“Here?”
“… Yeah?”
Megatron shook his helm.  “Just keep a tally or something.  I’ll give them to you once we’re back at our habsuite.”
The rejection stung again, but at least he was able to soothe it with that fact that Megatron had called it our habsuite.
“Fine,” Rodimus muttered.
He had no trouble getting the rest of the questions right.
At least when they were walking back, Rodimus managed to capture Megatron’s hand and he didn’t take it back.  He seemed surprised at first, but then squeezed back with a smile on his face.  What weird rules did Megatron follow?
Whatever.  They were holding hands and heading back to their room together.  And maybe once they were inside…
Finally, Rodimus got his kiss.  He’d been so starved for kisses that the first one sent a rush of electricity through his frame.  His knees literally felt weak.  Really, every trope he’d ever heard was taking over his frame.  He did his best to steer them towards the berth, but he had no strength in his limbs.  Megatron had to be the one to do it.
“Satisfied?” Megatron asked with a little smirk.
“With you?”  Rodimus pulled him down again.  “Never.”
Rodimus wished the hands sitting courteously on his waist would slide lower.  After all, it had been long enough.  Too long, in Rodimus’ opinion.  If Megatron were one of his exes, they’d be getting into the kinky stuff right now. But here he was, stuck on first base.
Maybe he was just being cautious.  There were a couple conspiracy theories circulating around the ship.  One was that he’d manipulated Rodimus or was blackmailing him.  The other suggested literal brainwashing.  So… Rodimus would just have to make his intentions crystal clear.
Rodimus fixed Megatron with a lustful gaze.  He softly bit Megatron’s bottom lip during their next kiss and tugged on it as he pulled back.  With a sultry smile thrown over his shoulder, he guided Megatron to the berth and lay down.  He put his hands above his helm and spread his legs a bit, giving himself wholly to Megatron.  Wherever he wanted to touch, he could.
“Could you move over a bit?” Megatron asked, a little irritation in his voice.
Rodimus gave him an annoyed look, but obliged.
“For someone your size, you manage to take up most of the berth,” Megatron commented as he climbed in.
“We’re supposed to share,” Rodimus said.
“And that’s a two-way street.”
Rodimus stifled a frustrated growl and rolled onto his side.  He pressed himself flush to Megatron’s frame and kissed him again.  At least he seemed to be okay with this.
Trying to be subtle, he slid his hand down Megatron’s frame. Just before it got to his array, however, Megatron grabbed his wrist.  He froze, his field crackling with confusion as he met his lover’s gaze.
“Sorry,” he said, when he realized how forceful he’d been. He lifted his hand to kiss where he’d hurt.  “Not tonight. I’m a little too tired for that.”
Not tonight?  More like, not ever.  Why didn’t Megatron want to frag him?  Did he not think he was hot?
“Okay…”  Rodimus tried not to let it show, but disappointment flooded his field.  His spoiler fell, too.
Megatron lifted Rodimus’ fallen chin.  He kissed him and pulled him close, instead.  It was nice, but… all of these rejections were piling on top of each other and weighing him down.
Did Megatron not want him anymore?  Maybe there was something to those conspiracy theories…
It didn’t help when he woke up in berth, alone. Tears pricked at his optics.  He was going to look so stupid in front of everyone when they found out he’d already managed to screw things up.  This was Megatron.  He should be happy anyone looked his way!  And why go to all the trouble of telling people and announcing things and even filling out paperwork because of their “working relationship?”
Well, frag him.  He can go to hell and he wasn’t even that hot and—
Rodimus cursed when he knocked over a glass on the nightstand and spilled energon everywhere.  He was already berating himself for forgetting about leaving it there when he saw the note.
Had to leave for an emergency.  It’s nothing major, and I can handle it.
Ah.  He hadn’t forgotten.  But that meant he’d spilled what Megatron had left for him.
Sighing, but feeling a little better about things, Rodimus cleaned up the mess and mixed his own ration before heading to the bridge. He was thankful Megatron was in the office when he got there.  After checking in with Ultra Magnus, he went to the office, ensuring that he left the door wide open, since he could feel Magnus’ optics on his back.
“Thanks for dealing with whatever.  And for getting me my ration.”  He left out that he spilled it.
“You’re welcome, Rodimus.  I know you forget some mornings and the last thing we need is a cranky mech capable of creating fire.”  He smiled at him.
Rodimus chuckled.  He considered trying for another kiss, but decided against it.
He nodded towards the stack of data pads.  “A lot of paperwork today, huh?”
“I’ve got it today.  You go keep an optic on things out there.”  Megatron gave him a small smile.
“Okay.  And, um… we’re still on for tonight, yeah?”
“I wouldn’t miss it.”
Rodimus had gone through every possible reason for why Megatron might be late until he landed on the only one that really made sense.
He wasn’t late; he wasn’t coming.
He dangled his pedes into the oil reservoir, pointedly choosing to not look at the stars.  Maybe then he could just pretend he wanted to be here alone.  It wasn’t meant to be romantic.  Maybe he was just checking the integrity of the oil, or making sure they had enough or…
Or maybe he was alone because he was so undesirable that even Megatron didn’t want him.  He was ready to slink back to his habsuite—his, not theirs—and cry himself to sleep when he heard the door open.
“I’m so sorry I’m late, Rodimus.”
“Oh, did we have something planned?” Rodimus said sarcastically.  “Well, there goes my plans to drown myself.”
Megatron sighed as he took a seat next to Rodimus. He refused to look at him.  He’d see anger in his optics, yes, but also the tears threatening to escape.
“I was on my way here when I saw Brainstorm… being Brainstorm.  I had to get him to stop what he was doing and then find some experiment to give him permission for that wouldn’t blow up the ship or tear a hole in the time-space continuum.  You know how he is.”
“Yeah, and I know how you are,” Rodimus said bitterly.
“I truly am sorry, Rodimus.  I wanted to be here.”
“Uh huh.  Just like you wanted to kiss me all those times, or, or frag the night before or like a week ago or when you wouldn’t hold my hand, or…”  Rodimus clenched his denta to keep himself from crying. He must already look so pathetic. He certainly sounded pathetic. It all sounded so petty when he gave voice to his thoughts.
“I’m sorry, Rodimus, this is… difficult for me.”  He sighed again.  “I apologize.  I didn’t realize this was weighing on you so heavily.”
“I don’t care.”
“Yes, you do.”
“Yeah!  Well!  If you don’t want me why did you even agree to date me?”  He turned flaring optics his way.  His anger fizzled out a bit when he saw the apology in Megatron’s gaze.
“Because I do want you.”
Rodimus scoffed.  “You’ve got a great way of showing that.”  He swiped at the one errant tear that leaked from his optic.
Megatron took one of Rodimus’ hands in both of his. He sighed, deflating.  “Let me explain.  I should have told you this from the start, but…”  He looked away.  “I suppose I was hoping I would just be able to get over it, but it’s clear that won’t happen just because I get to court a beautiful mech.”
Rodimus said nothing, but a blush tinged his cheeks pink.
“I’m sure you know that war can change someone.” He met Rodimus’ gaze, but wasn’t able to hold it.  “For me, one of those changes was touch.  Affection, really.  It’s…” He sighed again.  “Believe me when I say I want to hug you and kiss you and everything you want me to do.  And I will, eventually.  It will just take me a little longer.”
“Oh.”
Megatron brought Rodimus’ hand to his mouth and kissed it.
“But… I mean, you let me kiss you when we’re alone,” Rodimus said.  “So it’s clearly not the kiss that’s the problem.”
“It’s not inherently the problem, but, yes, it’s easier to do when we’re alone.  I was caught off-guard at Swerve’s.  But if we’re on the bridge we won’t be kissing.  We’re at work.  We have to be professional.”
“Fine.”
“For everything else, though, it’s… complicated. The want is there, but doing it…”
Rodimus put his free hand over Megatron’s.
Megatron looked up and smiled at him.  “I think I’m just having trouble letting my guard down. It has nothing to do with you.”
“Okay… so… what can I do?”
“If you want to do something, just ask me.  At least for now.  Whenever you…”  His face scrunched up in thought.  “You know when you hear a loud noise you weren’t expecting?  How your weapons seem to power up on their own?  Or your plating clamps down to prepare for a fight?”
“Yuuuup.  Fun stuff.”
“It’s like that.  In a way.  If I’m not expecting someone to touch me, well, that could be someone coming to stab me in the back.  Or you’re trying to get me to let my guard down to launch an attack when I’m not prepared.  And before you say anything, yes, I know how crazy it sounds.  I’m working on it with Rung.  Because I know you don’t want to hurt me.  I’m fighting my instincts here.  Instincts that kept me alive for millions of years.  I’ll get there, eventually.”
Drift’s words made a lot more sense now.
“Okay.  I’ll be patient with you.  But you gotta be patient with me, too.  Or understanding, I guess.  I’m pretty touchy-feely.  If I’m honest, I thought you’d just already gotten tired of me.”
Megatron chuckled and then gave him a sympathetic look. “I don’t think anyone could tire of you.”
“You’d be surprised.”
“Well, I can’t see it happening with me.  That being said, can I kiss you?”
Rodimus beamed.  “Of course.”

Note
Yes! I had heard about the spin off about their kids it’s on my tbr! Not sure when I’ll get around to it but I’ll get there eventually. But ooh their other series sounds interesting too I’ll put it on my tbr too!! But that’s exactly why I loved Coballoway too (plus I’m also similar to Rose so their love story felt more personal that way)
Yay!! I’m glad the atlas six interested you, I hope you like it when you get to it I’m really loving it so far! I can already tell there is at least one ship I’m going to love it just hits all of my favorite tropes/things I enjoy. But the magic system is so cool and they are all so powerful.
Also glad you want to know about my reading too! I will keep you updated I have some books/series I really want to read but I try to be good and not read more than 2/3 at a time (and not buy anymore till I’m finished). Right now I’m also working through the throne of glass series which might take me awhile but I’m enjoying that too! Right now the books up next on my list are: Ugly Love, The Ravenhood Series, The Hating Game, Zodiac Academy, and Twisted Games (it’s the second book in a series that come out this month I loved Twisted Love by Ana Huang-highly recommend it if you love grumpy/sunshine and brother’s best friend tropes plus the twists were amazing-this one is a different couple but I’m excited!!)
Also! Don’t think I mentioned it yet maybe I did but I also read the Folk Air Series that you recommended! It took me a little while to get into but I ended up really loving it and Jurdan. I loved loved loved Jude and how power hungry she was and how Cardan was just obsessed with her. Their relationship build up was so good too.
All the best!!
-ACOTAR Anon
I keep meaning to get around to the Like Us series myself but I haven't managed it yet. It's been sitting on my tbr (and my Kindle) for a good couple of years now. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I know I'll read it eventually...but when eventually will be is anybody's guess.
(This is a good commentary on my reading life in general, I think. It's impossible to keep up with everything!)
The Atlas Six is pretty fascinating so far! I'm only about 25% into it but the magical world building is unique and I like how the narrative switches between the different POV's. Usually I don't care for more than 3 or 4 alternating perspectives in books because it makes it harder for me to invest in the characters, since I don't have as much time with them, but it works exceedingly well in this one. Helps to preserve the mystery of Atlas early on. And also allows readers to see how different all of the characters are in magical skill, background, personality, etc. I can't wait to see what unfolds!
I'm also currently reading Anxious People by Frederik Backman. I don't know if you've read anything by him before but he's such a good storyteller. Grabs you by the hearstrings. He's funny as hell, too. I've loved everything I've picked up from him so far. He has a knack for crafting beautifully flawed relatable complex characters. And this book is no exception. It might end up being a 5-star read for me, which is rare.
The next books on your to-read list sound fantastic, btw! Some I have read already or have them snuggled on one of my many wishlists. Like the Zodiac Academy and the Ravenhood series. And The Hating Game is one of my contemporary romance obsessions. It's just so enemies-to-lovers charged and fun. That book is packed full of a bunch tropes I adore. I've already read it twice and will likely revisit it again in the future. Thanks for mentioning Ugly Love (I need to get off my butt and read Colleen Hoover) and Twisted Love because those are definitely right up my alley. Grumpy/sunshine is one of my favorite romance tropes. I live for it!
And yayyy! I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed The Folk of the Air! It does take a bit to settle into the world of that story, as well as to become engrossed in the characters, but once you do, it's full speed ahead. Jude is such a badass. I love that she's ambitious to the point she's willing to take people out/down to get what she wants. Her fraught relationship with Madoc is fascinating to me as well. And Jurdan is just such a delicious ship. I love it so much. It's true enemies-to-lovers excellence. They have so many quotable lines!
I'm excited because Holly Black has a new adult fantasy series coming out next year, in 2022. It's called Book of Night and the premise sounds cool as hell. I've already been stalking NetGalley in the hopes that I have a chance at first dibs on an ARC lolol.
Also, if you can find self-restraint enough not to buy any more books until you've read most of the ones you have then I salute you! I try oh, so hard to enact this rule upon myself...but it never works. Like ever. 😂
It's my own fault, really. I get daily emails/alerts from Kindle, BookBubs, etc. letting me know about titles that are on sale for less than $5, and when they're that cheap, I can't seem to justify NOT buying a whole hoard of them even though I know they're more than likely to remain unread for a long, loooong time to come. Better than paying full price, though. Right?
If you haven't email subscribed to any of these sites, and you're looking to save some cash on audio or e-books specifically, you should. I'd spend a whole ass fortune on books if I didn't use them. (I check out a lot of books from the library, too.) I dropped the links to some of the ones I use in case you or anyone else who reads this is interested and doesn't know about them:
Book Bubs (you can set preferences/alerts based on your favorite books, genres, authors; you can rate stuff and curate your own wishlist too)
Early Bird Books (I use this one a lot to find classics that are on sale/free)
Book Riot (this site has a lot of book sweepstakes you can enter for a chance to win gift cards to Barnes & Noble, Book Depository etc.)
Kindle Book Deals (there are tons of deals offered daily, weekly monthly; I'm not a Kindle Unlimited member but there's that option, too)
NewInBooks (new releases; has links for Kindle, Apple, Audio, and hardcover)
Anyway take care, sweets, and happy reading! 💜

First Kiss and Huddling for Warmth with logicality
!!!!!
“We,” Logan groans, sliding his head into his hands in utter despair, “are screwed. And it is most entirely your fault.”
Patton winces from his cross-legged seat opposite the irritated man. “Aw, come on, Logan,” he wheedles, shivering despite himself. “It’s not that bad!”
Logan stares at him flatly. “We’re trapped,” he begins slowly, “in a freezing cave, twenty kilometres from civilization in any direction, with little water, minimal food, no way of keeping warm – and you think it’s not that bad?!”
Patton gives a soft laugh, and Logan is unable to tell why his neck, previously so cold, suddenly feels like it’s burning. “O’course it’s not bad,” the smaller man chirps, wiggling his shoulders teasingly. “You’re here with me, aren’tcha?”
Logan’s breath hitches, and he wills down the pink erupting in his cheeks. “Nope,” he says crossly, tugging on his tie in an attempt to distract himself, “no, nope, absolutely not, we are not having this happen right now, so stop being adorable.”
His friend rolls his eyes cheekily and starts to move, crossing the limited space between them at a crawl. “What in the name of Tesla are you doing?” Logan squeaks inelegantly, propelling himself backwards until his back hits the wall with a painful thump. Patton glances up at him, and oh, Logan really needs to wipe his brain immediately because the sight of that man bearing down on him should not be attractive under any circumstances – much less those at hand.
Patton, for his part, merely blinks, beginning to untie his hoodie from its perch on his shoulders. “Whadd’ya think, silly? I’m warming us up!”
Logan swallows hard, dismisses the multitude of mental images that just flooded his mind, stops to think with his actual brain for once, and promptly nods. “Body heat,” he says approvingly, shuffling his way towards the other as Patton meets him in the middle. “Nice one.”
Patton drapes his hoodie around the both of them like a blanket, then leans his head on Logan’s shoulder. “Thanks,” he murmurs, vibrations echoing through the soft fabric of Logan’s button-down. Logan furrows his eyebrows, frowning.
“You’re still cold?”
It’s not a question, but his friend treats it as one nonetheless. “What?” Patton splutters, lifting his gaze to meet Logan’s eyes. “Me? Cold? Nahhhhh.”
Logan scowls, crossing his arms. “You’re shivering,” he states flatly. “Come here.”
Patton blinks, then blushes as Logan begrudgingly wraps his arms around him, hoping to stem some iota of the cold perpetrating the man’s being. “I- uh,” Patton stammers awkwardly, looking away, “I’m sorry I got us into this mess. You’re right when you said it was my fault.”
Logan huffs haughtily. “Of course I was right. I’m always right.” Then, looking down at the figure in his arms, relents ever-so-slightly. “But perhaps I could have been more careful checking the weather forecast when we went looking for the amulet.”
Patton snickers into his shirt, and Logan gulps. “That was a little bit of an oversight, huh?”
“‘Oversight’? Since when do you know what that means?”
A shrug. “I know lotsa stuff, Lo! Like words, and how to work phones-”
“-That was one time!-”
“-And, and feelings ‘nd stuff.”
Logan scoffs. “You certainly can’t know that much about feelings,” he boasts primly, tugging on his tie. “After all, you don’t know mine.”
Patton chuckles, bright and low, and Logan thinks suddenly that perhaps he’s made a terrible mistake. He shifts in his spot until he’s facing Logan, all-too perceptive eyes peering at him through the cover of thick-rimmed lenses, and Logan flushes.
“I dunno, Lo,” Patton says, leaning forwards innocently until he’s practically in the taller man’s lap. His hand drifts across Logan’s shoulder, and Logan finds himself shivering for reasons rather separate from the cold. “Betcha I could make you feel something.”
Logan presses himself impossibly further back into the wall, barely daring to meet the other’s eyes. “Oh really?” he challenges, pouring all his efforts into keeping his voice steady. “And what might that be?”
Patton blinks, then leans in closer. “Hey Logan?” he asks, face very nearly touching the other but oh, not quite, not nearly close enough and yet much too near at the same time. “What do would you do if your ice house was falling apart?”
He could pick out, if he were so inclined, every eyelash on his face – even the lone, fallen one right below his eye, almost perfectly opposite the minuscule birthmark. He’s utterly stunning, Logan realizes, a marvel, sheer, unparalleled wonder in the most beautiful of harmonies – balanced, precise, as delicate as a scientific instrument and as capable as one as well. He could be all the stars in the sky, at that moment, and Logan wouldn’t be able to tell the difference, because both are equally radiant.
“What?” he murmurs softly, distantly aware of the strains of his own voice lilting through the air, even as a slow, gorgeous, charming grin spread on the other’s face.
“Well I dunno about you,” Patton says, “but igloo it back together.”
Then he winks.
Logan blinks, groans, then promptly pushes his friend off his lap in an unceremonious heap.
“Why are you like this?” he wails, smacking his hands to his forehead with reckless abandon. Patton laughs from his spot on the cave floor, a beautiful sound. “I told you I could make you feel an emotion, Lo. Never said it wouldn’t be annoyance.”
Logan stares at him. His shocked expression gradually melts into one of betrayal, then bewilderment, then gradual, grudging admiration. “I hate that I put up with you,” he mutters. Patton just grins. “Aww,” he teases, “you know you love me.”
A deep, resigned sigh. “God, unfortunately.”
Logan shivers, then, and Patton pounces on the motion. “Are you okay?” he asks, frantically gathering up his discarded hoodie and wrapping it around the both of them yet again. “Oh, shoot; did I make you cold or something?”
Logan rolls his eyes. “That is far from how thermodynamics work, Patton.”
A pause. Then,
“But yes, I am still… cold.”
Patton busies himself, bustling around in their makeshift little shelter, avoiding eye contact as he gathers his things for a moment of so. Then, in a small voice, he proposes, “I do have.. maybe one more idea. Of how we could warm up.”
Logan glances at him, intrigued. “Explain.”
His friend’s eyes dart to him. Look away. Look back. “It might be easier if I showed you. Just… tell me if you want me to stop, okay?”
Logan furrows his brow, but leans back into the inviting arms of the cavern wall. “You have no less than the entirety of my trust,” he says honestly, “as ill-given as it may prove to be. And there’s- there’s very little that could take that trust away.”
Patton lets out a soft “Oh,” at that; “Oh, good.”
Then he’s leaning in, broadcasting his every move with the obviousness and surprisingly graceful elegance of a bull trotting its way through a delicate china shop, and oh, Logan thinks, oh.
Soft lips meet his. A gentle hand runs its way down his arm. A warm weight is in his space.
It promises so many things. It promises blazing heat, and fiery determination, and an old, solid, crackling glow much later on.
But those things are for after this moment.
In this moment, Logan is simply, strikingly, stunningly warm.
this ended up??? so much fluffier than i meant it to be??? oh my god i planned to actually write a kiss scene for this and that Did Not Happen but like. idk it’s kinda sweet so i’ll take it
Send me two tropes and a ship!

notes: for @lucybeetle who asked for Tametomo/Sena, #15 :D SO this isn’t the incredibly romantic variation of this trope BUUUUUT :D :D :D
also over at ao3~
-
Realizing that Mabushina has never celebrated a birthday before, the Kiramagers did not waste time in throwing her one. And, to thank them, the princess decides, during the celebration, to teach them the dance of the people from her planet. "It's supposed to inspire everyone to work hard on developing their kiramental," Mabushina says, just as she twirls under Juru's raised arm. "My father and I used to dance this a lot before." "It's a bit complicated, isn't it?" Sayo laughs, a bit embarrassed, then follows Shiguru's lead as the latter bends her a bit backwards. "Although I guess I'm fortunate that Shiguru-kun's a very capable dancer." Shiguru shrugs and tells her, "It comes with the profession." Meanwhile, Tametomo's stepped on Sena's foot yet again, causing the athlete to push him away in irritation. "Mou, Tametomo-kun! Any more of that and you're likely to break off my foot!" Tametomo scratches the back of his head. "Sorry, sorry! I'm just finding it difficult to--" He pauses. "You know what, come here. Let's just try it again--" Sena frowns but approaches him cautiously. "I can't believe we're the worst pair doing this stupid dance. We have to do better than this - even if it means practicing to get things right!" He shrugs, looking almost bored. "Whatever you say." Mabushina glances at them and frowns. A few minutes later, she approaches Tametomo cautiously and says, "Um... Tametomo-san, can I ask you a question?" "Shoot." "Based from my observations earlier, you... strike me as a more capable dancer than both Shiguru-san and Juru-san but--" "Shh!" Tametomo places a finger over his mouth and looks around him in alarm. "Not too loud!" “Eh?” Mabushina blinks at him. "Does-- does that mean you intentionally step on Sena-san's--" "She thinks we need more time together to practice," he replies. "And, well, not like we have better things to do when we're not fighting or off doing our own stuff anyway, do we?" Then Tametomo smirks and positively winks at her. "Don’t tell her anything, all right? It's our little secret."

What's something fun or silly you'd like your followers to know about you? Also, got any fic recommendations?
Hmm, fun and silly? I can’t think of anything that would be entertaining to know about me. But okay! I misread and mis-see things to epic proportions (such as, the other day I read Spooklyn instead of Brooklyn and believed it for solid 5 seconds) and often forget lyrics or make up my own that become ‘and I really can’t fucking sing’ to vague tune and rhythm of the song. Basically, what is reality if your perception doesn’t mess around with it and spice it up Some?
Also, I absolutely love cats. Big and small and you will always get on my good side with caracals or snow leopards bouncing around.
Also fic recs? I absolutely do, but it also depends what you’re looking for. One shots, multichapters? Series, maybe? Ongoing WIPs that are definitely worthy of reading?
But okay! I think turned into author rec more than anything, oops? No particular order to this! Under cut because it got hella long.
I’d definitely rec anything by @angel-deux-writes over here! Amazing writing all around, poignant expression that gets you right in the heart, humor and besotted Jaime at his demisexual best. Has made me stay up until 4am to binge read and cry, and laugh. Can’t pick a favorite, just go in there and pick your poison. Even if it’s not tropes you typically like, there’s high chance you’ll like it anyway.
@ddagent is the person to go to if you want amazing, creative one shots of every kind of nature. They encapsulate entire worlds and often have continuations! Hot, tooth-rooting sweet, soft… You name it, she has it. Is also writing a lovely Queen!Brienne ongoing fic.
The Tides is fascinatingly interesting and beautiful story by @slipsthrufingers Probably my favorite Tarth depiction ever, but rest of it is just as great. The way they learn each other is just…. Hnngh. She’s also writing Braime takes on Miss Congeniality and Lost right now that are just chef’s kiss, if it’s something to your interest.
It wouldn’t be fic rec from me without @nire-the-mithridatist If you’re in for a one-shot that’s canon compliant and will absolutely destroy your heart, there’s this one from her. Otherwise, I strongly suggest looking over her work in general, like the lovely embroidery one (a depiction of married Braime that is one of my favorite yet), but also A Beauty By Any Other Name and Ocean Eyes, Diamond Mind. They’re both WIPs, but can you really pass up reading of a fanboy Jaime falling for singer/songwriter Brienne through internet while he overeagerly draws fanart of her work? Or a manmaid Jaime? Emotional, beautifully told and creative in every sense.
While everything by @luthienebonyx is utter delight, I am incredibly fond of her After Everything series. I am always here for exploration of emotional depth and underlying currents and she’s doing that so wonderfully (with a right amount of hot, though I’m trying to keep this rec neutral and not veer into fics that spin more around that).
If you do want some of that, though, @agirlnamedkeith is absolutely the person to go to, especially with We Make The Rules, but there’s lot of tenderness and beauty and hot stuff to be found all over her work. Also Jaime/Brienne/Addam. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Forpeaches/Bluecarrot also has some genuinely oh wow their mind AUs and concepts and I love the way they write, their dialogues are just something else and the way they tell story through them, versus internal ramblings that I can’t get rid of is just awe inspiring for me.
Samirant’s alright, outta sight is the ultimate ode to sort of enemies to friends to lovers trope, some of softest and hottest and most heart rendering stuff I’ve ever had the fortune to read.
LadyRhiyana is a delight, from fascinating AU one shots to entire series that revolve around Brienne squiring for Jaime or epic fic of Jaime & Tyrion timetravelling to present and getting adopted by Selwyn, essentially.
@ladyinredfics has a lot of gems but among my favorites are her epic sized Battle is the Great Redeemer ( Edge of Tomorrow AU that was absolutely wrecking to follow through while it was updating, but so rewarding) and also my personal favorite of direct transfer of book events into modern verse aka All the Redemption I Can Offer.
robotsdance writes in a way that always renders me into speechless, mushy pile of feelings and awe. I think I discovered her through the battlefield between us, which I’ve reread bunch of times, because it’s just so powerful in emotion and just take of events and the characters themselves, but you won’t go wrong with any of her other stories either, imo. Especially if you like Jaime gettin’ pegged.
Roccolinde’s works are such a FEAST, let me tell you. From a gorgeous take on selkie myth to canon-almost-compliant multichapter that is so frustratingly gorgeous in how they struggle to overcome the pain nested between them while loving each other so much, to a modern AU where Brienne babysits the Stark kids and befriends very demisexual Jaime.
Janie_tangerine has incredible amount of fics. And they’re mindboggingly good. But this time I’ll specifically rec one of first Braime fics that I read, ever, a soulmate AU. And it absolutely crushed me in best way possible and I still think of it often. Maybe one of ultimate tripping stones into this ship, by portraying the vulnerability and brokenness and the way they heal each other.
… Okay, listen, I could go on, obviously, but it’s 1am and I was supposed to be writing my own fic. So I’ll just round it up with assortment of few more fics.
The Lion, The Wench and The Wardrobe Trailer - a modern AU multichapter in full meaning of the name and still ongoing, but what a ride! Incredibly clever use of canon events in modern setting, emotional and sweet all at once, the shift from antagonism to mutual saviors to friends to essentially lovers but we’re too blind to see it to actual lovers. Interesting exploration of all characters, funny as hell, easter eggs for days. Slowburn
Measure in Love - I almost thought it was crackfic originally, but it’s amazing modern AU of a very unlikely and funny situation and two quite broken people drifting together. Slowburn for sure, but so rewarding, and every friendship in the story is absolute gold mine. Completed.
Souls to Hear - ongoing as of now, book verse. Absolutely keeping me on my toes and stressed how the hell are they going to get out of all of this, while also making me giddy with the emotional exploration of everything between them. Heading to slowburn territory but not yet long enough to really fall under into the category entirely.
.. There’s more, really, but my brain has shut down by now, ooops.

“Alright, majority rules, we’re doing hide and seek!”
“Yay!” Horror, Blue and Killer said, all in different tones.
“And Error, no cheating this time,” Cross ordered. “You know what, you can seek.”
“Fuck you,” Error spat as he dropped Blue from the strings. Killer caught Blue dramatically. “That was gay.”

Hilda is even more obscure than I initially thought; a mythological masterpiece!
I’m not sure how many other people have noticed this, but here’s the list I’ve made from lots of research! This post will consist of no specific spoiler. But if you don’t want to know about anything yet, DO NOT READ THIS!!!
So after re watching the entire show, I noticed something rather interesting. Each episode features a creature or culture derived from ancient mythology.
Episode 1;
The Elves: At first, I assumed this was about fairies. The tiny civilizations they must have. But after looking at the landscaping of the backgrounds, it hit me. These are based off of Iceland’s Huldufolk. This translates directly to hidden people. Said to be protectors of their good fortune, the government of Iceland made completely illegal any construction or interference with what is supposedly land that belongs to these small, invisible elves, who live in miniature houses called alfhols. Wait. Alf? Alfur? Coincidence? I think not.
Episode 2;
Giants: The giants of Hilda are solely based off of Norse mythology. Legend tells of a tribe of beautiful giants, who once lived between the Sierra Nevada and the Rocky Mountains. There were hundreds of species, living in hundreds of habitats. The Great Spirit, however, grew tired of their aloof and mighty behaviors toward each other, so he allowed their enemies to conquer them; the humans. Only two giants survived: Paiute and his wife. Sounds about right.
The Woodman: This monotone cryptic of Hilda’s assorted friends took me quite a bit of research to track down the origins to. But finally, I found him. Based on Greek culture, he’s actually a dryad, or “oak nymph”. These walking, wooden creatures exist to look after the oak tree they were forged from. So let’s suspend some disbelief and assume Hilda’s ancestor used the Woodman’s tree in order to build the cabin Hilda lives in. Why else would he have stuck around, since he’s always minorly annoyed and yet indubitably shows up in many of Hilda’s childhood crayon drawings? Just a thought.
Episode 3;
Thunderbird: These birds originate from Native American beliefs. By flapping its gigantic wings, it creates thunder and lightning, controlling the storm season and bringing excellent harvest. With storms, come rain, so the arrival of the thunderbird was always a promising sign. Present in their dances, tattoos, and carvings, he protected them from the great horned serpent and it’s destructive tendencies, bringing whoever favored him good luck and prosperity. Slides right in with Trolberg’s annual parade, don’t you think? And it brings a whole new connotation to the city’s “statue”, when the Great Raven explains how he had sat on top of it; his symbol was always present at the very top of a totem pole.
Episode 4;
Vittra: These stinky little onions are more than they seem to be. From Northern Sweden, these underground dwelling nature spirits are very aggressive, territorial, and hated humans. They’re also known to have invisible cattle, which they milk for food and commonly steal from mortals who have wronged them. Really explains the cows, huh? They’re known to make humans’ lives miserable, especially when they meddle with their tunnels, lifestyle, or even cross their borders. Even in modern day, people have moved their homes away from any nearby “vittraställe”, or vittra way, just in case.
Episode 5;
Trolls: Another Icelandic folktale, trolls are said to have been dim witted, man eating creatures that turned to stone upon contact with sunlight. Even in Lord of the Rings, they used these concepts. So why wouldn’t Hilda? If you visit the beaches of Iceland, it is said that the huge boulders scattered about the shores, and in the water, were once trolls. They were caught by the dawn as they attempted to crush the ships returning to their homes, carrying fishermen finding food for their families. These “troll rocks” are their bodies, reaching out to the sea, now forever entrapped in stone.
Episode 6;
Marra: Originally known as mare, which eventually attributes to the word “nightmare”, the Hungarian marra are malicious entities that possess humans with certain amounts of negative energy. Teenagers with depression, mostly, which also helped create the possessed, creepy kid trope in horror movies. While you sleep, they perch on your chest, and expose your mind to its deepest fear. Eventually, the marra evolved into the legend of the boogey man, so in retrospect, they never actually disappeared.
Episode 7;
The Bragga: These outcasted group of elves, who made a failed contract with the Aldric family over “No Elf’s Land”, aren’t just coincidentally donning beard braids and helmets, obsessed with fighting physically, drinking ale, spitting, and riding rabbits like they’re jousting horses. They’re based off of Nordic Vikings, their separation from Scandinavia, and the culture that they eventually developed. Their tendencies to favor combat over reason is made evident, too, however stereotypical it may be. This is pretty much the only example the show has used so far to allude to a historical period of time.
Episode 8;
Tide Mice: Taken from Mapuche mythology, these voodoo rodents are actually supposed to be colo colos. Evil, rat-like creatures, they hide in your house to feed on your saliva while you sleep, eventually bringing about comatose states and long term memory loss. Once all of your life juice has been depleted, your soul is completely sucked from your body and the colo colo consumes it in order to go on living. Despite their complete irrelevance with wicca, the way the show manages to assimilate the two is genius.
Episode 9;
Ghosts: I feel like this speaks for itself. They’re very commonly used, but the show does a good, unique job of connecting a ghostly presence not with a negative haunting that needs to be handled or else everyone will die, but with a helpful spirit, just hanging around a house because it’s linked to a specific item or object.
Episode 10;
Wind Spirits: The wind spirits, which were based off of Roman Anemoi, minor wind gods that each represented a cardinal direction, are shown in Hilda as debaters who couldn’t come to a conclusion. Their fighting is what makes gigantic natural disasters. This is mocking a bit of fun of Roman philosophers, who were known to sit around in their forums, arguing until the entire town couldn’t stand it. The irritated citizens would call these prolonged discussions, “storms of the intellect”.
Episode 11;
Cursed Cottage: I have no clue where this myth derives from, and I couldn’t find much else except Into the Woods songs, but this is basically adopting the enchanted cottage trope. The gingerbread house that actually houses a wicked witch, the lone hut that holds everything Goldilocks longs for except for its occupants; so many fairy tales center their setting around a manipulative house that tries to snatch you up and never let you go. So this one is probably just a primal usage of that timeless idea, combined with a cool twist of inter dimensional neurotics. Pretty cool!
Episode 11;
Nisse: Also fondly known as house brownies, nisse are Norweigian dwarves, living inside of your home. Sometimes known to mischievously steal your things, like socks, car keys, old toys, jewelry, etc, they make nests in your walls or your abandoned, most frequently forgotten to check spots. If you are kind to them, leave them food, and treat them well, they will go out of their way to do good things for you, like wash your dishes, dust your desk, or, yknow, purge evil energies from your body. But if you anger them, they can be quite a hassle; breaking things is a usual reaction. Either way, if you ever catch them, you have the right to forcefully evict them from your home.
Episode 12;
Black Hounds: Black hounds, throughout the history of mythology, are always seen as a dark, ominous omen, warning you of potential suffering, struggle, pain, turmoil, chaos and death. So pretty darn bad. Seeing a black hound, or even owning one, is still a superstition, today. They’re literally called the “accumulation of everything that is evil on this plane of existence.” But, if you haven’t already watched Hilda, keep Sirius Black in mind, and his patronus, which reminds us, “don’t read a book by it’s cover.”
That’s all I’ve got to say, gamers! There are some that I skipped, like the lindworm, water spirits, stuff like that. But all in all, Hilda is a mythological masterpiece. Watch it whenever you can if you appreciate lore in any way, because it’s not just a beautiful, naturally diversified show about a socially anxious girl assimilating into a new culture. It’s taking incredibly interesting and obscure pieces of mythological history and braiding it into a perfectly constructed storyline. Whether or not it’s educational is up to you. Not even including here how breath takingly gorgeous the animation, use of color, and backgrounds are. Just... please. Don’t sleep on it!

[HE/HIM & 25/JANUARY 31] Is that CHARLES MELTON?! No it’s just RILEY PARKER-WORTHINGTON. From our interview we have heard that the PUNK is apparently a MUSICIAN / AUTO MECHANIC who’s been living a lavish lifestyle in ALDERLEY EDGE, CHESHIRE with 25K followers! Now that they’ve signed a contact to pricelesshqs fans will be ecstatic to see them on screen. But rumor has it they are hard to deal with as they’re CHOLERIC, REFRACTORY, & ALOOF. Fortunately for us we’ve heard they’re actually INDIVIDUALISTIC, BOLD, & PERSPICACIOUS.  Let’s see how they survive our show while they arrive in the luxurious life of pricelesshqs! (sam, 23, est)
hello everyone! i’m sam and the above gif is basically everything you need to know about this goblin but if you want to know more, there’s gonna be some info and basic af connection ideas under the cut so feel free to message me if you would like to plot!
i. stats
𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞: riley ignatius parker-worthington
𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬: parker
𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐧: alderley edge, cheshire, uk
𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡: january 31st, 1994
𝐳𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐜: aquarius
𝐨𝐜𝐜𝐮𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: musician / auto mechanic
𝐩𝐨𝐬. 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐬: individualistic, bold, perspicacious.
𝐧𝐞𝐠. 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐬: choleric, refractory, aloof.
ii. history
riley ignatius parker-worthington goes solely by parker and he was born to a wealthy family in a small, affluent village called alderley edge in cheshire, uk. he’s the youngest of four sons, so he has three older brothers.
his family, the parker-worthingtons, are stupid rich. they’re basically the british rockefellers. parker’s x6 great grandfather started the family company a couple centuries ago and nowadays they’ve got their hands in everything from business to architecture to real estate to education to oil…they own a lot of stuff.
he spent his early years sheltered and pampered and homeschooled by tutors and nannies bc his parents never had time for, which he accepted and got over really early on in life. he’s always been a huge troublemaker with a restless nature so his wealthy, uptight, lowkey shady af parents who are obsessed with the family’s image could never really deal with him and eventually decided to just ship him off to boarding schools all over europe, one after the other after the other bc he kept getting kicked out.
about the only thing he enjoyed about his childhood and his schooling were his music lessons. he played piano, violin, and hell even the harp ! no matter the instrument, his natural talent would always shine through and parker discovered his True Calling™ the moment he picked up a guitar.
back in his school days he was basically that rebellious kid in all the movies who wore doc martens with his prim & proper school uniform and carried around a pocket knife and cut class to go smoke while vandalizing school property and constantly started got into fights with all of the prissy prep school boys.
he’s quite intelligent so even despite his atrocious behavior, his grades were far from awful. he actually got into oxford university all on his own, but the night before he was set to begin classes he ran away to the states and never looked back.
he drifted around for a while, most notably staying in seattle, washington and los angeles, california for the longest amounts of time. he started his punk band called rabid porcupine of which he’s the frontman, lead singer, songwriter, and lead guitarist, while living in LA and it quickly became an underground favorite and remains virtually unknown to everyone else. he attended auto mechanic school while living in seattle and so that’s his day job, something he does in order to keep the lights on. he probably signed up for priceless solely because he knew that his parents would absolutely hate it and parker thrives off of spite.
iii. extras
everyone calls him parker. 99% of people probably think that it’s his first name. he’s probably only ever had a girlfriend or two who he’s been okay with calling him riley, but no one else ever does unless they wanna fight, but again, most people don’t even know his actual name to begin with.
the thickest, most posh british accent this side of the pond. uses an odd mixture of british and american slang too.
basically the walking talking real life embodiment of the jerk with a heart of gold trope.
knows he’s not the easiest person to befriend but if you are his friend, then he’s gonna be loyal af, the realest ride or die of all time. however, he’s a very tough love type of person. he tells the truth and he’s not going to coddle someone just because they’re his friend.
he’s actually a very talented pianist who probably could’ve gone on to play professionally if he stuck with it but nah. he likes the guitar. it’s kind of a shame that he never really plays anymore because he honestly is a beautiful pianist :/
he has a motorcycle which pretty much built it himself from scratch and it’s just…it’s literally his child he will freak if you so much as lay a hand on his motorcycle ok /f r e a k/ like don’t even look at it the wrong way.
iv. wanted connections
best friend, probably a fellow jerk to be honest
other, non - jerk best friend for Balance
friends
cousins! could be from england or korea
former friends or enemies
exes - relationships, hook ups, one night stands, idk all of that stuff
( these are just ideas and i’m trash at coming up with stuff, so please don’t feel limited by what’s listed here. )

Persona 5
Review
A fun rollicking adventure.
Okay, for a such a loved installment of a loved franchise, I shouldn’t end the review like this, but I really do think the above sums it up pretty well.
I mean, just everything about this game screams ‘a fun rollicking adventure’, from the music, to the design, to the mechanics (sort of)... the game invites you to let down your worries and just hangout with pretty fun characters.
You know I don’t care much about mechanics as much as the narrative and themes, so let’s get down to the nitty-grity of the plot... well, not really.
The story of Persona 5 is a start-up story. You know what it is, The Social Network, Silicon Valley, Steve Jobs, even Citizen Kane can be described as a start-up story. What makes a start-up story as compared of coming-of-age or coming-of-life is that it’s about the development of a brand, not a being.
And so the overarching story is bunch of high schoolers trying to build a brand for themselves. There’s... not much else to it. Since the overall story is not that complicated, the intricacies comes from the character and the specific plots.
I don’t want to make this a really long analysis of everything, so I think I’m going to consult a tarot and go through the confidants and list them one by one.
Again, there’s not much I would tell you without spoiling the game, although actually there’s not much I will talk even with spoiling. Let’s just say if you like fun rollicking adventures and if you are not sick of JRPG mechanics, this is fine.
Now for the list of confidants.
(Akira Kurusa) as The Fool - Of course, the confidant is Igor, but it makes more sense that he’s the Fool. The Fool represents basically creativity, with the free spirit and the madness that it presents. As with the fool’s journey, Fool is usually the protagonist, and so it is here. The Joker here is snarky and insightful, there’s a bit of character here than in other games. Why is he the leader? I think it’s because he’s a decisive person. He can sense the rhythm of the world within.
Morgana as the Magician - In the Fool’s Journey, he’s the initiator and fittingly Morgana initiates things. Morgana tries to find the drive in things, perhaps the reason he’s so enamored in treasure. But this drive present the creature as a child, which he is, I suppose. As with character of this type, he’s annoying, but since the characters get crowded, he has less lines and so that’s good.
Makoto Niijima as The High Priestess - Represents hidden powers and patience and here it’s portrayed the Student Council President, who basically gets roped into the team. There’s violence in her, which is atypical, but she has the smarts to back it up, and also she’s very strict to herself. Having her as the Priestess indicate the violence inherent in this game. They are thieves after all.
Haru Okumura as The Empress - Kind of an Ascended Fangirl? She supposed to be the motherly character, but I don’t know about that. She seems forced to be in that role, her intrafamilial knowledge seem to mainly come from her background and her gardening feels more used for separation than nurturing. Yes, she is ‘aloof’ but it’s also one of childish aloofness, in order to sanctify herself as a Phantom Thief. I don’t know, she’s fine, but it’s a bad fit...
Yusuke Kitagawa as The Emperor - Rude assistant turned bumbling aspiring artist. The character that gets lighter as he moves away from the target, and therefore becomes more likable to many. This is great, I always like seemingly mean person that turns out to be a doofus. One of my favorite tropes.
Sojiro Sakura as The Hierophant - The Authority figure, he probably is not the best authority figure, but he has good in his heart, even through his troubles. Or even perhaps because of his troubles. I think he’s one of the more well-written characters and I think it really adds a good mellow taste in this game.
Ann Takamaki as The Lovers - The main lover of the story. Ann is an active lover, one with ambition and heart, maybe too much of both. Having a model character is pretty interesting, and her storyline is... more hilarious than lovely.
Ryuji Sakamoto as The Chariot - Represents willpower and determination, but one who is headstrong as such. Ryuji fits this to a T, but he’s not more than that. But he doesn’t need to be more than that. He’s a good friend and why not?
Goro Akechi as The Justice - We’re looking at Lawful evil here, although he gets better, apparently. Akechi is one with promise, which apparently carries in the prequel, midquel and the sequels that this thing is surrounded by.
Futaba Sakura as The Hermit - Well, she’s a likable character. So likable, she gets a lot of ship despite her age and frailty. I don’t know if I want more of her, or would that spoil her broth? Anyway, gives a good balance to the team.
Chihaya Mifune as The Wheel of Fortune - And we move away from the actual team, to this little needed character. She’s fun, but she’s an interesting addition to the game overall. Her story routinely follow the ruin of past theme here.
Caroline and Justine as The Strength - Really interesting couple, or are they a couple? Anyway, I really don’t care for the supernatural plotline so... PASS!
Munehisa Iwai as The Hanged Man - I know he kind of has to be a confidant, but man why would he take The Joker? His plotline is dark and wistful, which make sense given the character, but man, does it not fit with the overall story at all.
Tae Takemi as Death - The Doctor of the story, who is little bit mad, little bit sentimental and overall a fun character to be with. I don’t know how she exist though, her storyline is pretty out there, although this is a Persona game.
Sadayo Kawakami as Temperance - Homeroom teacher... is a maid? Strangely her love line felt okay, because I always felt she was child stuck as an adult. She has a instinctive need to be pretty and respectful and perhaps caring, but in a child way, forceful and not really wise. This is an interesting character for sure.
Ichiko Ohya as The Devil - Very bizarre devil, certainly. Character tend to be obsessive and she is obsessive with... I mean, what? She’s a mess, I tell ya, least Kawakami can clean up, she just stuck in the gutter and that’s a pity.
Shinya Oda as The Tower - Sudden change is the name of the game, so why choose a child game prodigy? Tower feels old and reserved, Shinya is the opposite of that. Although he certainly grew up fast. I don’t know about this.
Hifumi Togo as The Star - I mean she should be the Tower, seeing her fall was quite mighty and her perseverance adds to the perseverance of the ruins. But she’s a Star, she wants to endure, and that’s good. Man, Hifumi does not get a wind in her story. She’s like Candy, she is only focused on one thing, but that’s the point of the Arcana... so there’s that. She seems fine, otherwise.
Yuuki Mishima as The Moon - If Yusuke became more likable, Mishima is the opposite, he is the empathetic victim in the first arc and then slowly get worse and worse as the story progresses, which adds to the bitterness of the game.
Toranosuke Yoshisa as The Sun - One of favorite minor confidants. Why do we have a politician in the story, I don’t know, but he’s great and gives great hope at a time I need hope in politics. He just has a great story arc, honestly.
Sae Niijima as Judgement - She’s pretty great, even if she’s a bit underutilized. Like I want to see her more, just doing cool prosecutor stuff? I don’t know...
And finally The World, which I’m going to interpret as... the World. Tokyo in Persona 5 is a good one. Tokyo feels like a dizzying metropolis most of the time, but here it feels like... a lived place. And that’s what makes this game so great. Being in a lived city makes one just let themselves go and enjoy your life.
That’s it. Go home.

Hi @nanyallen13 ! Thanks so much for the asks and blog compliments and sorry for the delay in replying. To make it easier to reply in one post I’ve screenshot the asks and anyone reading will need to go from bottom to top (they’re numbered).
I’m so glad you got in touch, it’s really great to get other opinions and takes because the nature of our ship and theories (and people’s knee-jerk reactions to them) means we’re often in our own corner of fandom, so non-jonsa opinions and input is great to hear. I hope all the jonsa meta people see this, they’ll be please to hear you enjoy their posts. And your English is amazing btw!
We never, ever ask that anyone ships it, all we really are out here doing is saying to folks “look, look at this foreshadowing, look at this evidence! we’re not crazy like you say we are!” and mostly we get crickets or yelled at, so it’s really nice to hear from a "neutral” that you think it could happen. Ok, this might be a bit messy because I’m out of practice, but to answer your questions...
What did I think of Dany before season 7?
I agree with what you said, but I began to take issue with her a little ahead of season 7, maybe season 5. I was still thrilled when she left for Westeros in season 6 because this is what we’d been waiting for all this time, but season 7 really sealed the deal for her arc taking a darker trajectory. I didn’t have especially strong opinions on Dany after season 1, I actually found her non-Westerosi arc kind of uninteresting for a long while and cheered on her “badass” moments, but, in hindsight, I think that’s because on first/second/third viewing I hadn’t realised where this was going.
I think I started to question some of her actions in season 5, when she burns the guy using the dragons, when her dragons are out of control and burn the child, when the teacher tells her it’s not a black and white situation (I’m writing this quickly, haven’t gone back to check names etc) but didn’t think too much about it until she was on the doorstep of characters I care for. That’s when it really hit home. Suddenly she was a threat to the characters I love. I wasn’t convinced of her being a full blown antagonist for a long while, but I’m more and more convinced she is as time goes on. A recent rewatch solidified this for me because when you go back in looking for it it’s kind of obvious (season one is FULL of foreshadowing, it’s amazing).
And you’re right. Perfect hero Dany is absolutely not an interesting character, she’s bland, unrealistic. But beautiful, dangerous, complex, flawed villain origin story Dany? Well, she’s a different matter. Dangerous and unpredictable “dark!dany” is a far more interesting character, and one that will go down in the history of female characters. We’re getting to see how a Cersei comes to be, and that’s fascinating stuff.
The stans have sadly created some power fantasy projection of the character wherein they want her to not only get everything in the story, but to be everything all at once to them, and she simply cannot do/be that, she’ll be human, she’ll be flawed, she’ll fail, she’ll die (and I agree, definitely not in childbirth, which is a dreadful ending for her, she deserves much better).
What did I think of J*nerys before Jonsa/Season 7?
Hmmm, let’s just say nothing good lol. I started to take issue with Dany around season 5 and I also had finished reading the books around the same time so I expected the ship to sail in some form. It was the obvious ship, too obvious in my opinion. It seemed like the dreadful, predictable male hero + female hero ship that I expected from a lesser series. So I expected it, but my hope was that the likely Chekhov’s gun of all these sycophantic men surrounding her that want to serve and love her (which is terrible, tedious storytelling unless there’s a twist) would go off, and that it would be a Jon-shaped pistol hanging on the wall.
When season 6 happened I was blindsided. I never, ever expected to be here now loudly shipping Jon with his “sister” Sansa (bear in mind I shipped nothing in this show really, but was aware of Brienne and Jaime being a slow burn, it’s hard to miss). I obviously had a clue they could reunite because season 5 had Sansa escaping Ramsay and she knows where Jon is. But when they reunited I assumed it would be platonic and it just didn’t have the sister brother platonic vibe it should have had. Suddenly Jonsa was doing all these tropes and by episode 10 of season 6 I’d jumped on board as a fully fledged jonsa shipper, and then down the theory/book/show evidence rabbit hole I went for another 2.5 years (jesus fjfdjfhkdjf). So by the time season 7 came around I was convinced of another endgame that wasn’t J*nerys.
On the topic of season 7, I totally agree with you regarding Political Jon, and my hope is obviously that it’s true, but if it isn’t, well, I will be very frustrated with Jon (because I love that dumbass). Fortunately there’s a lot pointing towards it so I’m hopeful. If he’s legitimately in love then it’s just a truly awful love story and an insult to “the north remembers” narrative (and to Jon’s character).
As you said, it seems like it is very intentional on the part of the show runners that all of these things are happening at once. They’re not mutually exclusive theories, but they are incredibly complimentary. You have to believe that a lot of people are crazy to be able to rule this “theory dissent” out, and I just don’t believe we are as “delusional” as we’re accused of being.
So, in summary, I never expected a) dark!dany or b) jonsa, but much analysis later I’m convinced of both, there’s just too much evidence for these theories for me not to expect them in some form. Maybe me and everyone else here will look like clowns in a few weeks, but I’m quietly optimistic. And absolutely nothing in the promo season has convinced me otherwise, only 22 days to go!
