Hey, thanks! I quite like my anglerfish siren too :) I don’t really have a “use” for her but she’s fun to doodle and imagine how a mermaid species like this would come about. I think this surface water anglerfish evolved in tandem with hominids and early humans, originally luring them to water by pretending to be a drowning person, but some pods have now figured out that another way to lure in prey is to take advantage of lonely seamen who haven’t seen a single woman for several months — that is, to lure the sailors in with the looks of a beautiful woman yo-hooing in the playful waves with sparkling doe eyes and a sweet smile. They actually have a very highly developed language processing capabilities (comes in handy for social animals that hunt in pods) and can pick up on human languages with ease, naturally to make very convincing screams for help or to slyly convince people at the edge of the water to take the plunge into their loving arms. Their lure has working second eyes adapted to bright daylight and an air sac that can be used to make humanlike sounds by vibrating muscles around the “airway” (so, essentially like lungs and vocal cords)

Why hunt humans, I’m still not quite sure. Humans must have something the sirens need to live, perhaps lots of innate magic if this is a magical fantasy universe? The sirens do use their lures to hunt other sort of prey too, many animals won’t pass on the opportunity of a whole fresh corpse innocently floating in the shallows — step on the closest rock to you and it suddenly opens its jaws and sucks you in a tooth-filled mouth!

I hope no one takes this the wrong way, but I feel like the reaction to Ozzy at the Stick or Switch was kind of exaggerated. This said by an Ozzy stan who would’ve also liked to have more, btw.

It’s just:

— Ozzy and MC aren’t in a relationship. They’re not even in a couple. That doesn’t mean he can’t have a reaction when seeing her, but it’s obvious that the point of Stick or Twist was to capture how the couples were doing.

— Ozzy did still have a reaction when seeing MC. Even two, actually. Maybe they’re not what a lot of his stans were imagining, but they make perfect sense. Ozzy was rattled when he was MC, in a “I knew you were still here but having you right in front of me is another thing” kind of way. He even felt discomfort towards Grace, and they weren’t doing anything romantic.

— Ozzy was even more rattled by seeing Amelia bring Marshall back, and that was clearly taking center stage in his mind.

— In all of this, yes, Ozzy was happy to see Grace, but nothing romantic happened during Stick or Switch. The only thing Ozzy showed us with his reaction is that he cares for Grace.

— But, most importantly, Ozzy went on the show to find love. If that’s how one wants to play it, so has MC. Yes, they have clearly found something great together, but they’ve also known each other for nine days (three of which weren’t even spent together). It’s normal to have doubts, it’s normal not to rush into abandoning the Villa, it’s normal to explore one’s options and work on figuring out what one’s feeling in the process.

(That goes for both Ozzy and MC. Some people make it seem like it’s a one-way street.)

— And to top it off, MC got “eliminated” before she and Ozzy had the chance to define anything except that they have feelings for each other. That’s good, but not a solid base for certainty when you’ve just met one another and are on a show to flirt, fall in love, or even just take the money. Again, it’s totally normal to have doubts. And it’s totally normal to want to respect your partner’s feelings in a delicate moment (such as Stick or Twist), even if your heart lies elsewhere.

Plus, have we forgotten that the postcard is also a thing in the main Villa? MC had every right to have fun in CA, but it’s normal to have Ozzy and\or the other LIs form doubts about the postcard. Hell, FB will have probably taken an “innocent,” out of context moment and framed it so that even MCs who didn’t do anything in CA looked bad.

So, again, why are so many people so angry? Ozzy’s reaction wasn’t bad; it was even pretty understandable. We don’t even know if and what he saw of CA\what the authors may have made him believe. Give the guy time to process things, he’s human too.

Then, if he talks to MC and things still don’t evolve, the hurt will be completely justified. For now, let’s just wait and see.

(Btw, am I the only one hoping that Elliot leaves MC single and we’re actually given first choice at the next recoupling - end of this week, max. next week - for some reason? I saw some people expecting that Elliot’s choice will be based on ours, but I don’t think so. Considering the point we’re at and the fact that even slow burn routes usually get unlocked around episode thirty, leaving MC single at this stage would be the perfect opportunity to open all routes\lock in with the LI one has chosen. If one hasn’t switched, of course. If one has, they could simply get first choice at the next recoupling, no explanation needed.)

I dont think it's an exaggeration but more so a collective sigh on FBs terrible writing coupled with our s5 trauma. if you weren't a Suresh girly in S5 you might not have had as many deja vu type flashbacks with this last update. Consider this.... last season Suresh basically told us he wanted no one else but us and he gave us a big show on the terrace only to be whisked off to Casa, come back with another girl on his arm and barely acknowledging that we were in the villa. Cut to this season, MC + Ozzy have they've told each other they want to be coupled up and MC kissed Ozzy on her way out of the villa. And then we walk back into the villa to him barely acknowledging our presence. Just saying "we were sure you'd gone home" but then acknowledging Grace the same girl he supposedly isnt attracted to.

look im not writing off Ozzy AT ALL. but I fully feel people are justified in feeling slighted by that last update. it was giving mediocre. and literally every single post casa fan fic Ive read has been better than anything fb strung together. For me THATS why im annoyed. why is the fandom better at writing meaningful stories over people who actually get paid to do this??? Yeah, as far as I know, that's how it is with ants... I'm not an expert, but I think the female workers are infertile and care for the queen. Their development depends on how much food they receive when they're larvae. If there is abundance, some larvae will be "princess ants" (fertile and will leave the colony to start their own once the time is right).

Hmm... The Chimera Ants, however, seem to work quite different. Besides the whole "Ant Giving Birth to an Anthro Lion" and what not, they didn't end up starving once the queen died (which I read happens because there are no more larvae and the ants need them to properly feed) and many of them left to try starting colonies of their own (even some of the males seemed to want that, not just females like Zanzan)...

Perhaps this is more like some species of wasp? I've read that the queen produces a pheromone that keeps the others infertile. Once she dies, they battle for dominance in order to become the next queen. With the Chimera, however, they left for new territories rather than stay and fight...

The royal guards, regardless of Meruem’s presence, are not exactly easy to deal with even in their normal state (and I don’t think this is simply because they are not humans). Take them to Yandere level and, well, let’s just say it is not a pretty picture…

Pitou is not someone whose interest is easily aroused (she is the kind that “knows several people but regards only a few of them as her actual friends”) and, in a sense, the opposite is also true: It’s not easy to lose such interest, either. With her in Yandere-mode, well, it’s basically impossible. Once you’ve realized what is going, taking the usual measures to try dealing with it (such as moving, contacting the police, so on), don’t waste any time hoping she will “move on” or “change targets” as some stalkers do. It's not in her nature (both due to her personality and instincts).

Not that you would certainly realize what is going on right away. It would depend on her mood and how she decides to deal with her feelings (and she can’t change this decision): She may just go for the straight, extreme actions or keep a convincing facade of normality for a while… Regardless of whether this “normality” is you trying to kill each other or being friends (or she at least living in peace among humans)...

In the “enemies” case, Pitou would not spend days brooding about having fallen for an enemy and trying to get rid of those feelings. She would just shrug the situation off and start to debate whether it’s best to kidnap you right away or try to court you. If she’s working with other Ants for whatever reason or they just happen to be in the area, she would make sure everyone knows you are not to be hurt (and may God have mercy on whoever doesn’t listen). Her attacks would still be convincing from your point of view while being harmless playing in Pitou’s mind. After all, she lets you escape with no injures!

The “convincing facade” is more regarding how deep (and unsettling) her feelings are. In both scenarios, she would confess soon and, being what/how she is, likely act on it. No matter how much you explain you’re not interested or what arguments you use, Pitou would just wave her tail, perhaps ask what you mean exactly in that “innocently curious��� tone of hers and… Completely ignore what you just said.

Well, okay, maybe you need to remember she isn’t completely human, so you can’t demand that she behaves like one, right?

Oh, boy, are you making a mistake… Not being human doesn’t mean that Pitou doesn’t understand that there are limits.

She understands.

She just couldn’t care less.

Remember when she probed Pokkles’ brain with him still alive? When Gon and Killua saw her for the first time? This is nothing next to how she can be when she’s obsessed with you.

I mentioned she would act on her feelings, right? Here’s another thing: She is also likely to do so in the manner of an animal trying to attract a particular mate. And because we’re talking Yandere-mode, I don’t mean the “bird dancing” or “penguin offering a pebble”. Not even the “cat giving you a dead prey”…

If you’re friends/she’s living in the human society, there would be some restraint at first, to the point her insistence would seem innocent… Then she would either grow impatient and kidnap you, or things would escalate, giving you hints to the darkness of her feelings until you’re forced to accept that this friend is a threat to you. Maybe after returning home, you find a note in your bed in which Pitou wrote that she loves how soft your bed is, how your home’s security is lacking… And, by the way, that person seems to have a crush on you… Hmm… Should she break their hands or their legs? The playful tone of the note only makes it darker.

Somehow you know she is not kidding.

If you’re enemies, well, she has no reason to restrain herself from the start. Her interactions with you would become far darker even if she miiight not kidnap you right away (for whatever reason) especially since she wouldn’t waste time playing by human rules. Pitou would find a way to make a claim (pinning you down, rubbing herself against you like a cat, and even leaving a love bite/hickey on your neck are very much on the table) or say it loud and clear in battle when there are other humans around. This isn’t just for the other humans, but for you as well: You’re hers, now. There is no room for discussion.

Also, in this scenario, it’s not impossible that Pitou’s “love” started with her deciding to make you her pet. Collar and all.

It should be said that Pitou is a cat in almost every sense, so the tendency to “play with her food” is very much present... Yes, she sees you as a “mate” rather than “prey”, but your attempts to avoid/hide from her consist of an opportunity that is far too good to miss! You change address and, after a few days, start to relax… Only for her to leave a new “present” at your door! It’s both funny and cute how you thought something so simple would keep her away! Awww, you’re so adorable!

Again, it’s true that some of her actions (such as this) have no malice whatsoever behind them, but I repeat, don’t let yourself be fooled: She is very much aware that what she is doing is creepy and wrong and why. I’m repeating this because Pitou can be as charming and cute as a cat… And as devious and sadistic as any human.

While some yanderes give you time (perhaps hoping you’ll eventually come around or because chasing you is so much fun), Pitou is among those who won’t take long before deciding to “take you home”.

Pitou loves having you all to herself and will be very affectionate, especially when it’s just the two of you. Maybe this sounds a little cute on principle? Yeah, trust me, it is not. It’s terrifying! Even when you reject her and she caresses your head saying you’re cute, you can see the insanity in her eyes, mixed with a sick infatuation.

It doesn’t help that, at times, her being “affectionate” involves brushing your hair, cuddling and even bathing together. Not only this invasion of space can already be uncomfortable, something about how Pitou does it makes you feel too much like a pet, especially when she talks about how much she loves you, how lovely you are, and how she is never going to let you go. In this situation, and the way she speaks, those words make you feel cold.

You should have realized by now that there is no reasoning with her and this isn’t because she is not human. Pitou is likely to twist your arguments or make points that would frankly make you think she learned from Illumi or Hisoka (and she only does that because she thinks it’s funny, anyway).

As for Pitou, well, she can’t say she is happy that you’re uncomfortable, but she believes it’s just temporary and you’ll get used to your new life… Hey, humans capture animals all the time to put them in zoos or circus. She isn’t that bad in comparison, now, is she?

She’s easily the kind of yandere that responds to pleas for freedom by caressing your head and saying you’re cute. How could she possibly let you go? You’d run away! Besides, she can keep you well-fed and protected. You say such silly things, love!

That’s not to say Pitou doesn’t have a limit to how much rejection she can take or her patience. And this is a line you don’t want to cross. It’s hard to say if Pitou would get to the point of physical punishment, but this doesn’t mean she wouldn’t make use of other means.

Menthuthyoupi.

It’s not easy to catch the attention of any of the Royal Trio, each for their own reasons. In Youpi’s case, it’s partially because he doesn’t have any human DNA on him, so despite being able to communicate and all, he doesn’t usually pay that much attention to people. It’s almost like he’s an alien (or we are, in his view). Even in a scenario when he is living in peace with humans, he doesn’t have exactly a clear opinion about them. They just exist. Maybe a few of them are okay enough, but that’s it… And in a scenario when he is still fighting them, well, they are the enemy. It’s pretty simple.

Youpi is direct, both in personality and as a Chimera Ant (in that he follows his instincts without hesitation). As such, like Pitou, he wouldn’t avoid his feelings once he comes to understand them. It’s a little strange, yes, but he accepts the fact that he loves you and that’s it. That said, Youpi would be initially confused (especially if you’re an enemy. How on Earth did he develop this sort of feeling for someone he’s supposed to kill?), and he wouldn’t make a move until he is sure of what he is feeling and what he wants.

Sadly, because this isn’t him in a healthy state of mind, this doesn’t mean anything good for you. This isn’t a shy monster-boy finding a human he considers special. This isn’t even “enemies falling in love” or “dark romance”. This is an “already dangerous individual” developing an equally dangerous obsession.

At first, Youpi starts to stalk you (if you’re his enemy/if you’ve never spoken before) or try to find excuses to spend more time with you (if you’re on friendly terms) in this attempt to understand exactly what is going on with himself. During this time, his feelings for you become stronger along with his desire to know everything about you. He’s curious. He’s fascinated. He wants to see you more often. He wants to talk with you… He just wants to be near you…

It’s pretty disturbing because, despite his size, Youpi will find the means to stalk you without anyone realizing it, just like an animal hunting. You may notice a shadow here and now, feel a chill up your spine, but it won’t be enough to make the danger clear enough. If you two are enemies, there are chances you’ll realize that there is something is wrong, as he either avoids fighting you (no issues with anyone else, though) or that he doesn’t seem to be actively trying to hurt you as much as before… Despite this, you’ll never, ever imagine he is in love with you.

Well, disturbing as it may be, it sounds almost as harmless as he can be in this scenario, right?

Not the case. You can’t forget how obsession grows, how it affects a person, and that it gets to the point when merely stalking isn’t enough. There is no such thing as a harmless yandere/stalker. So even if Youpi, at first, is satisfied with merely watching you from afar and making sure you aren’t hurt, it starts to not be enough. He sees you with your friends, smiling at them, hugging them, laughing… And he starts to imagine how it would be to have you doing these things with him, to be the one who makes you smile, to be the one holding you… And he realizes he wants it.

He loves you. He wants you.

And there is no reason to not act on those feelings.

Regardless of the circumstances between you, he seems to take the rejection well (if you manage to control the shock, act calmly and explain your reasons for it). At first, he thinks about your points and may even understand them… Only to find out that he doesn’t care. He can’t forget you. He can’t let go of you… And honestly, he doesn’t really want to. That you don’t feel the same now doesn’t matter. Don’t some couples start not feeling the same for each other, only for those feelings to change later?

In the case of “peaceful existence”, it might be easier to get a glimpse of his instability than with the Neferpitou, but it doesn’t make much of a difference. Even the precautions people normally take in those situations would only work for a certain time… The myth of the animal that “will pursue its prey to the ends of the Earth once it has its scent” is true when it comes down to Youpi (literally even).

Now, while Youpi is less likely to resort to kidnapping (at least right away), he would still find ways to inject himself into your life, so even then, you can’t say you’re free. He may not go straight to threatening your loved ones (and it’s hard to predict if he would follow with it), but there are many other tactics that he could and would use.

And being less likely to kidnap you doesn’t mean he wouldn’t if he didn’t decide it is the better course of action. After all, no matter how strong you prove yourself to be, it doesn’t mean you’re invincible. It doesn’t mean you can’t be hurt. If he keeps you, he can’t make sure you’re safe.

Either way, there is no way to be free of him.

If he kidnapped you, Youpi wouldn’t go so far as to place you in an actual cage or chain you up, but he would find means to make sure you can’t leave.

He is easily the most patient of the trio, including with your rejections and attempts to escape. It doesn’t please him and nothing can convince him to let you go, but at least Youpi doesn’t get angry, condescending, or twist things around. In fact, it gets to the point when you can lose control and try hitting him that he wouldn’t even raise his voice. He would just hold your wrists (carefully) and try to calm you down…

Now, just because he isn’t human, it doesn’t mean Youpi is unable to understand that what he is doing is wrong and why you’re so unhappy. Hey, animals also don’t like to be taken from the place they consider their home like that. He can relate, he can understand. But his obsession is too great for him to let you go and, instead, he hopes that you’ll adapt with time.

Not having human genes and understanding even less about humans than Pitou and Pouf, in his desire to make you comfortable (and make you accept him), Youpi would likely try to learn what he can about humans (probably even asking for Pitou’s help).

For Youpi, your presence alone makes him feel good. While he wouldn’t force you into things that make you uncomfortable or excessively invade your personal space the way Pitou might, there would still be times when Youpi would want to show you some affection. Chances are, he would enjoy holding you close (especially because, next to him, you feel so small and cute) and nuzzling you, which is not only a common expression of affection among animals, but it also gives him an extra opportunity to enjoy your scent.

Youpi might be less cruel than most of yanderes, but this doesn’t mean much. At the end of the day, whether he has kidnapped you or not, the situation is still essentially the same. You’re being hurt either way…

Shaiapouf.

Even in his normal state of mind, for all his apparent calmness and self-control, it’s been showed several times that Pouf can be actually quite intense with his emotions, to the point they cloud his thoughts (and that’s a polite way to say it). Well, multiply that by a thousand and you’ll only scratch the surface of how he becomes as a Yandere.

Even if, by some miracle, this is a scenario where Pouf lives peacefully with humans it doesn’t mean he likes them. It’s more that he “tolerates” and “accepts” their existence as an unpleasant fact and it’s very much unlikely he would have human friends (he would probably find a way to live with comfort and luxury while having as little contact as possible with them). In a sense, you can compare him to some yokais in Inuyasha… He doesn’t go out of his way to antagonize humans (and risk a fight), but he sure as hell doesn’t care for them.

Until you, that is.

Pouf will never be able to say when his feelings for you started to grow and it will take a long time for him to understand them. By the time this happens, well, he is way into “Obsession Land”. Once he can no longer deny what he feels and it hits him that he loves you, his first reaction is… Well, pretty much an emotional tantrum, followed by self-despise and intense fury. How could he ever fall for a human? Disgraceful! Terrible! How could he fall so low? He even tries to hate you for making him feel that way, only to realize he can’t.

This lasts for a while, with him trying to convince himself to bury those feelings, no matter what it takes. If you two are enemies, be prepared: Pouf may consider killing you as the only way to “get rid of this shame”. He soon realizes he can’t bear the idea of you being hurt, let alone by him (well, like this, I mean)… But at least you’re not having to deal with his obsession yet.

Sadly, it doesn’t mean this will last long enough for something to happen before things get out of control. Pouf can’t get you out of his mind, possibly deciding to “observe you” in order to “remind himself” that you’re just a human: Flawed, inferior, and unworthy. This evolves into stalking and has the opposite effect: He becomes more and more infatuated, as well as worried that you might get hurt. You’re so beautiful, so gentle… You should not be fighting! At all! Oh, you’re an angel. No wonder he fell for you! You’re perfect for him!

If this is the “peaceful scenario”, the course of events is still pretty similar, no matter how you’ve met. At first, wanting to get you out of his system, he may be cold whenever you meet and even a little nasty, but it won’t work. He will start to long for more of your presence and if he manages to spend time with you, to consider you only of the few (if not the only) human who is better than the rest of the masses.

Either way, once he accepts that he loves you, you’re screwed.

In the “enemy scenario”, Pouf may try once to convince you to come with him, speaking highly of you and how much he loves you… In his mind, it’s poetry. In reality? The words may be pretty, but the way he says them, the shine in his eyes, the way he insists to hold your hands between his… Well, it’s creepy. Pouf may accept you denying him for a while, but it won’t take long until he seizes the first chance he has to take you. He was just being polite, offering you the chance of doing so by choice (if he does that when you’re gravely injured in a battle, he will use that frequently to point out he saved you and how you need him to keep you safe).

In the “peaceful scenario”, again, it’s not that much a different course of events. Your attempts to make him understand you’re not interested are ignored and there is precious little that anyone can do to keep you safe and, yes, including the Hunter Organization. He would do everything to get you.

In his mind, he is not doing anything wrong. If anything, his actions are almost heroic and proof of his devotion to you.

When you wake up in an unknown location and start to freak out or try to escape, Pouf reacts as if this is just adorable, then going on about how he loves you and wants to keep you safe. And let me tell you, this isn’t a “flowery speech” or like his funny moments in the anime. At this moment you realize you’re in a lot of trouble and that the chances of Pouf ever letting you go are non-existent.

It's not easy to determine exactly how deep his delusion goes; if it’s only about the “perfect life” you two will share or if it includes you. It’s not impossible that Pouf isn’t really in love with you, but rather an idealized version of you. He may also believe that, deep down, you do love him and just need time to realize it.

Pouf is the “adoring” kind of Yandere. He would love to spoil you, care for you, and would want to lavish you with gifts. Perhaps you’d expect him to be the less dangerous of the trio, or at least the most manageable, right? You’re dead wrong. Pouf is actually the worst of them, maybe even on the list of the worst yanderes of all Hunter cast.

His personality also means Pouf doesn’t believe anyone is worthy of your attention and if there is anyone you like (or that he thinks you like), it’s just because they’re manipulative and toxic. It’s his sacred duty to keep you safe from such scum! Perhaps the better term for him, rather than “jealous”, would be “possessive”. As far as he is concerned, you have no need to get in contact with another human ever again.

You thought he hated Komugi? Trust me, that was nothing compared to this.

He would lock you in a room, which you’d only leave while accompanied by him (he can’t have you trying to run off, can he?). Actually… If that happens, you should be glad. This guy isn’t above placing bars along a corner of his chambers (they are certainly large enough), turning that area into your “room” (bed and all). It certainly would appeal to him, especially since it gives him more chance to watch you.

There are stories about how excessive love can be suffocating, the “The Chaser” episode from the “Twilight Zone”… Well, Pouf’s love wouldn’t follow this line. This would be just tiresome. His adoration is frightening, even for a Yandere. The way he’s so sweet to you is mixed with a certain darkness, not letting you forget you’re dealing with an unstable person.

He understands this is a time of adaptation for you and this change of life is a shock, but he wouldn’t be happy if you asked him to let you go every day. In the same sickly-sweet way of always, he will mix subtle (or not so subtle) threats with words of adoration. Maybe he should chain you up… Maybe you’re thinking about that person who (he believes) has a crush on you? Maybe he should make sure you never think of them again…

There is also the fact that Pouf is among the Yanderes who would have almost no respect for your personal space. For all his adoration of you, he can be quite manipulative and controlling: If he wants to hold you in his lap, brush your hair, have you sleeping next to him, dance with you, well… There is little point in fighting. You would have to choose your battles wisely and keep in mind that Pouf isn’t above tying you up if you “start to be difficult”. Some Yanderes are happy enough with having you with them and may have enough patience to “wait for you to love them back”… Well, with Pouf, it depends on his mood.

There would be times when his behavior is all “patient and loving” (more like he just smiles when you try to get away or lash out)… And times when he would basically “demand” that you love him. Not with words, though: You’d learn that there are times when it’s safer for you to act a little more loving towards him (within reason) rather than antagonize him.

Bad Habits: -Cant form real human connection - sees everything as object variables to dissect ,explore, and use for experimentation. - Regularly abuses the fuck out of the other negatives because they are inferior idiots - Sociopathic murderer (“for Science”). -Obsessed with Neikan, the demon who created him, and will turn on anyone in her defense, friend or foe. -Views any personal connection to a person like having a pet you're fond for, but nothing is above Neikan. -Stress smoker.

Addictions: -Sexually infatuated by the color purple, - Takes Sadistic pleasure in watching the bold break down, - Gets off on taking control and causing pain in the act of intimacy.

PERSONALITY

Personality: Toruga is a deceptive man by nature, a demon conjured up and hand made by Neikan herself, inspired by Josef Mengele which she had seen in the lives of one of her vessels. Being based on the mad doctor, Toruga himself is brilliant in the fields of genetics, biology, and the anatomy of anything he can get his hands on. Despite the basis, Toruga is simply a being that never was a child, thus has formed a persona that imitates human emotion and relations to get his way. He doesn't feel true connection, he doesn't feel empathy, sympathy, or guilt for what he does, as long as it feeds into the goal of appeasing his mistress and furthering her goals. Which makes lying and altering his persona to the liking of his associates quite easy. Toruga presents himself like a fatherly figure -- even tempered, soft but confidently spoken, and constantly utilizing praise and interest in another when he’s looking to make nice. He’s a master of manipulation and will not hesitate to research a person’s history, or gauge a weakness from conversation alone, and exploit it if it makes them more agreeable or himself more appealing.   He doesnt respond to insults or physical attacks,  not a single thing in the world bothers him, save for the failure of the negatives to complete a task, or if the insult is directed at his mistress. Or if it is impeding his work, because that would make him unappealing to Neikan. Only then will he react. And he will do so swiftly and violently to make his point known. He is not afraid of death threats, or to be beaten or dismembered or tortured, because of his inability to die (Thanks to his connection to Neikan. For as long as she lives, he can) He finds those sorts of threats mildly amusing, because he has been here for centuries, and he will continue to be well after humanity is nothing more than bones and Ash beneath their feet. His personality can swivel on a dime, but overall he is a fairly pleasant person to interact and talk with. He;s had plenty of time to master human expression.  Toruga also tends to be very physical when he shows interest, with subtle touches, unbroken eye contact, and closeness. Its simply the spider tossing the silk of his webs to capture the poor fly that has no idea the fate to come. He can be incredibly jealous and spiteful when it comes to what diverts the attention of his mistress

Strengths: Determined, Even tempered, charming personality. Incredibly intelligent and gifted with holding conversations. A great asset if you need a doctor to work on any sort of viral or bacterial bioweapon, or if ya need a guy that likes to alter and play with mortal genetics. His inability to stay permanently dead makes him quite the threat in theory, and with that demonic origin he does have supernatural strength compared to the average mortal. He has no real blood, just inky mass of dark matter that makes up his form and drips in imitation blood.

Weaknesses: Neikan. Divine weaponry and magic also hurt like a bitch and would require he directly return to neikan to get fixed up.

Fears/phobias: Failing Neikan to the point she abandons him or makes another negative to replace him.

Education: Multiple lifetimes of trial and error through multiple dimensions and a variety of different levels of technology he’s explored with. Lacking any formal training, being an extension of his mistress means he also inherits the knowledge of her vessels. Coupled with his own experimentation and studied through multiple worlds.

Abilities: Being a demon made of dark matter means he’s endowed with an assortment of natural abilities, however unlike the more well known hell spawn demons, the negatives and their abilities from Neikan are typically only physical based.  Those abilities include: - Enhanced Strength and Endurance (built up after years of handling monsters, and the lack of human limitations/strains on the body) - Complete Regeneration (as long as the weapon is not enchanted or by divine means) - Minor shapeshifting, limited to his true forms. From human, to the black mass in the shape of a man, to a beastial tiger form - A photographic and auditory memory that retains just about any information he finds worthy of withholding. It also allows him to learn any language with ease after being exposed to it for a period of time

FAMILY, FRIENDS AND FOES

Personal history: Created around the time period of Pride’s((The Vessel) lifetime, 6 vessels prior to Nikki, Toruga was formed at first out of curious reasons and the need for a friend, but her intent with him became malicious shortly after her grief in the following life which split her soul into two halves. Left with nothing but malice and hatred for humanity, with the worst aspect of her being, Neikan utilized all her negativity to create a figure that would help speed up the process of ending the lives of the future vessels. Toruga was based on Josef Mengele, which Neikan had been exposed to as a child through the eyes of her second vessel, Hate. The demon was never a child, born as a perfectly capable adult to keep this young grieving woman company, it was at the start of his existence which paved the way to his obsessive love for his Creator. Toruga was her friend, her pet project that she left responsible with overseeing any of her new creations were given a job and set in order. While not active at first, Toruga observed humanity from the distance and learned the art of imitating them perfectly to blend in and manipulate what he understood. He studied their texts, he studied their culture, the array of species, their anatomies, their science and their technologies, absorbed it all until he could put it to use at the very end. Toruga is in love with his mistress, but with her fixation on her vengeance and the delicate heartbreak, she refuses to see him in such a way. Which, in turns, drives his unyielding determination to please her to make her see him. Coming to the existence of the last vessel, Nikki, things got complicated. Neikan assigned him a task to make a malleable beast that can infiltrate, a living machine to be the wolf in sheep's clothing, so when the last life became known, this being would be sent to kill it. Unfortunately for them, that bio weapon became the last life. Once inheriting Neikan and all the previous lives, any of the previous wiring he had instilled in the fetus were completely wiped away with the new presence of thought and free will -- the result, which would send Toruga on a wild chase to retrieve his experiment , all the way back to Earth. He spends years having to establish bases and connections on earth, all while scouring for his little project, taking well over 10 years before finally finding her. When he eventually does kidnap her and attempt to reset her mentally, Nikki retaliates and flees, leaving him with the iconic face scar he has now, but his project was now an unstable mess.  

Toruga is a man who juggles many projects at once. Despite a singular failure, he is always looking to make improvements, which would have eventually led to the creation of Malakaid as a failsafe to getting rid of Nikki, then immediately lost after yet another raid by Rosie and the authorities. But there is no stopping, there is always alternatives to getting what he wants. His web is vast, his determination and will unyielding. The world will fall to his mistress, one way or another. As of now, Toruga works closely with a variety of associates, primarily the Branches of Virtues because of their plentiful assets, and acts as a kind of apostle for Neikan to gain more souls willing to join their cause. His main project is a viral mutagen called the Uxoru virus, and helping work towards a modified super soldier serum made from Angel’s blood.

Parents names: Neikan Shadou (Sheila Lunarcrest)

Siblings: The other negatives, including John, Sebura, Kura, and Joku. By technicality, anyone made by Neikan is a kind of sibling.

Relationship with siblings: Toruga is the head honcho of the show, responsible for directing and punishing the others for their failures. Their stupidity and clumsiness prove to be incredibly irritating to him, and because they cant die he has no hesitation in brutally maiming and abusing them for it. They all have a bitterness, but a respectful fear towards him, and he knows it well. None of them are his equal, for he was the first, and he intends to keep it that way.

Partner/Spouse: -Vermont (Former husband, now deceased. Murdered mistakenly by Toruga himself after Vermont questioned Neikan’s intentions and plans. )

Children:

- Nikki Ai (His first experiment, artificially created and planted within a mother. She has no recollection of him as her creator, but rather this monster that hunts her down. She never came back as she was suppose to, and thus is a nuisance he needs dead)

- Malakaid (The second improvement to Nikki’s design , made from Nikki and Jacob’s dna, spliced with his own. Malakaid was stolen as a baby by Rosie and imprinted on her. Because of this, he will not go back to Toruga.)

- Veronica Winchester (Eldest daughter, ran away at 12 years old.)

- Toby Winchester ( A young boy, still living with him. He drags him around on his work trips when he’s able to. Because he witnessed his birth parent murdered as a toddler, Toby is practically a skittish mute of a boy that fears his father but will not dare leave the way his sister did.)

Enemies:

Basically got beef with everyone bcuz he probably fucked over your loved ones at some point and just doesn't recall it. He primarily has enemies with Rosie( A very personal vendetta) and the Angel Project, the Divine Calvary, and any enemies of the Branches of Virtues. He doesn’t try to make enemies but if people are gonna try to stop him from completing his work because its “unethical” and “Inhumane” then a bitch gonna go into the cage with the rest of the subjects. But he’s a hard man to hate because as long as you are blissfully ignorant, he seems like such a pleasant man to keep company with.

- Pokeverse : Toruga is a scientist of the Aether foundation , working on a secret specialized project for Lusamine, to create a world where human and pokemon are one -- as halflings. He experiments using genetic information gathered from the ultra beast data, along with splicing human dna with that of Pokemon, varying from adults to unborn fetuses. Everyone of which failed (dying in a matter of months, if born. Dying and resulting in a stillbirth. He studied her for the entirety of her childhood, a secret success he dare not report until certain she would not die like the rest, only to be lost in a fire (as far as he knows) aimed at silencing her rowdy father.

Much to his dismay, Toruga continues his research on human genetics, milking the foundations of its assets to feed his curiosity, with no real loylty to anyone but himself. But those skulligans are a promising bunch of nobodies to utilize for testing. He’s on the hunt to get his pet project back

aaaaaaa okay so here are all of the ones i have so far. this got pretty long so it’ll be under the cut:

sonic: two moms: bernie and aleena (from archie and underground respectively) they were the leaders of the first war with eggman (eggman is old dude, he’s definitely been doing this for way longer than sonic’s been alive). sonic spent his childhood years in the rebel’s base, but he didn’t like being cooped up so he would often sneak out. 

eventually one of eggman’s cameras caught him running around super fast (similar to the first ep of underground) and so he wanted to catch him to use his powers and stuff. so he got sent to live with his uncle chuck in knothole in order to hide/be protected. unfortunately this would be the last time he would see his moms, as they would go MIA after a mission to eggman’s base and would be presumed dead. he lived with his uncle until he was 8, when chuck was captured and roboticized :(

he wandered by himself alone for a while before coming across sally and the rest of the satam freedom fighter crew. by this point he was going by his uncle’s nickname for him “sonic” full-time, although he wouldn’t realize why until a bit later. when he was like 11 he and sally dated for like.. a few weeks before they were like uh. this isn’t working. this was also both when they realized they were trans. i have a comic about this which you can find right here!

sonic left knothole to start fresh, eventually coming to south island where sonic 1 takes place, around age 12-13. (eggman realized he was presenting as male now and switched pronouns - he may be evil but he respects his nemesis ok, it’s basic human decency) sonic proved to him that even though his moms may be gone, he was gonna continue their fight and put a stop to his plans!

(also: he later finds out that his moms didn’t die! they didn’t want to put the rebels in danger after their mission and went into hiding. they went to uncle chuck’s place after a while but found no trace of chuck or sonic, and fearing the worst, simply went back to their hiding place and started a life there, adopting two kids (sonia and manic!!) sonic saves their house from being attacked by badniks and then he’s like WAIT- they catch up and he meets his new sibs and it’s great!!!)

(bonus: sonic gives his old dress to amy near the end of the classic days, which is the one she wears from adventure 1 and onward!)

knuckles: (these are based on @bbgatile‘s knuckles headcanons) he had two moms, but then a disease wiped out the entire echidna population, leaving only knuckles, who managed to survive due to not having hatched out of his egg yet. he had never met another mobian or anyone other than the normal animals on angel island prior to meeting sonic and tails.

tails: i dont remember where i read this, but i saw someone come up with the idea that radiation or toxic stuff or whatever from chemical plant zone is what caused his two tails, which i thought was an interesting idea. i dont have any hcs really on what his life was like before meeting sonic, but it’s definitely not like his parents in the archie comics. i also hc he met sonic when he was around 5. yes that would mean a 5 year old was going on all these adventures but listen. this is sonic. why wouldn’t he be doing that kind of stuff at 5

amy: agggh i dont really have any family hcs or whatever, but i hc that amy was a little troublemaker as a kid, leading to her nickname of “rosy the rascal”. i also have no idea about the whole cd nonsense of her being from another dimension or timeline or whatever, but i think that makes her character a lot more interesting, so when i come up with backstory stuff for her, i definitely want to incorporate that!!

shadow: shadow’s backstory is obviously pretty well explained in canon but for additional stuff, see my development chart and ARK fic!

blaze: i have a whole fic of blaze basically just explaining my backstory for her to sonic over on AO3 called “tell me something nice”!!

silver: i definitely am a supporter of the idea that shadow is silver’s father. again, i have a comic (excuse the weird old silver design) sort of explaining this right here!!

rouge: i dont have that much for her either, but i hc that rouge grew up in a very poor household and began stealing just to survive, but she got addicted to the thrill of it. combine that with her love of jewels and all things shiny and you’ve got a masterclass jewel thief on your hands

Requested by the lovely @starofthedawn <3 It’s spooky season y’all! 30 "No?? Of course I'm not scared... who gets scared of... floating objects or... um weird sounds? Not me, that's for sure." 53 "There will be a lot of screaming tonight." 84 "Oh, this isn't a costume, this is my natural state of being." 

Loki watched as you fidgeted in your seat uncomfortably. Tony had just had the bright idea that spending a night in a supposedly haunted house would be a relief from the daily work load of “tracking down baddies and kicking ass” as the billionaire had so eloquently put it. His lips twitched up. The god had seen you go into battle with an iron stomach and steel heart, cutting down people like it was nothing. Yet, it seemed as if you were spooked by Tony’s proposal. 

“My lady Y/N, might you be frightened?” He challenged, eyebrow raising. You flushed and looked away. Steve glared from a distance and Sam looked amused. 

"No?? Of course I'm not scared... who gets scared of... floating objects or... um weird sounds? Not me, that's for sure." You scoffed, extending your legs so you could kick at the plush carpet beneath you. Nat stuck an elbow in your side and you jumped, eyes narrowing at her quickly before shooting back to Loki. 

“C’mon Reindeer games, our brave Y/N is coming, and she is delighted to,” Tony put the words in your mouth and your shoulders sagged. Loki nearly felt bad but it was almost delightful seeing you act in such a way. It was good seeing you had fears, that you weren’t a perfectly graceful, wonderfully brave, sickeningly good hero. The fact that you were fearful of possible spirits in an old creaky house made his heart swell that much more. 

He wouldn’t admit it but you had a piece of his heart that you had obtained, not willingly on his part might he add. He would never purposefully fall for a human. Pitiful meat sacks.

“I need to go see my grandma!” You battled, struggling against Sam who had you over his shoulder, your fists pounding against his back. 

“She’s been dead for seventeen years,” Sam shot back. 

“I can’t forget to feed my pet fish!” You tried again.

“You don’t have one, come on stop being a wuss this will be fun!” Your friend encouraged, smacking the back of your thigh as you wacked his back particularly hard. 

“I left my stove on?” You mentioned in a last ditch effort. 

“You know Stark has some wacky tech that turns everything off to preserve energy,” 

You groaned as Sam set you down and you glared more, your arms folding across your chest as he tossed your bags into the trunk. You stomped around for a second and tried to run past but Loki was suddenly materializing, his arm going around your shoulders. You tensed but your fight was suddenly gone at the god’s touch. 

“You look as pale as a ghost darling, getting prepared for Halloween ahead of schedule?” He teased, his hand dragging lazily from your shoulder down to your elbow and back up leaving you warmer than you should be in the last week of October. 

"Oh, this isn't a costume, this is my natural state of being." You shot back as he set his hand on your lower back, guiding you into the car. You took note of how he stood behind you so you couldn’t try and book it back to the tower. 

Sam was behind the wheel, Bucky next to him in the passenger seat. Bruce and Scott took the two middle seats and Thor sat in the back. That left you sitting next to Loki. At least the trip wouldn’t be a huge bust, you could at least admire your crush. It was childish but he had captured your heart with a single look and you found yourself at his mercy, whether he knew it or not. 

You however, were grumpy that he had stopped your retreat so you took the other window seat, leaving the middle seat for him, his eyes narrowed because he now had to sit next to his talkative brother. 

The first hour and a half was in fact filled with Thor’s booming voice and you nearly felt bad but the blonde god eventually tired and he let his head slump against the window, nodding off. Bucky and Sam murmured to songs and Bruce read while Scott drummed his fingers against his legs, earphones in place, a to a song no one else could hear. 

You let your gaze fall on Loki and found he was already looking at you, suddenly the beauty of the colorful trees and country fell away and you could only think of how his eyes were the most beautiful thing you’d ever seen. It had taken you by surprise. You gulped. 

“Are you that worried about the little get away?” He asked, misguided by your sudden intake of breath.

“I think it’s a great idea, really, I just feel like we are asking for trouble like in those movies where the dumb college kids go and get murdered because they thought it’d be cool to camp out, ya know? Like the dumb blonde showers and gets shanked, and the horny couple fucks and gets shanked, everyone gets shanked is my point.” You stated.

Loki was clearly amused and you were sure you hadn’t said anything funny. He was just thinking that you were something else, you could gut a man but you were fearful of becoming a horror cliche. A wicked grin pulled at his features and he leaned in, breath fanning hot against your neck, lips brushing against your earlobe causing you to shiver. “Can we be the horny couple?” 

You blushed deep red and your mouth gaped, you turned to face him and squeaked when you saw the short vicinity. You struggled to find words. Finally you settled on, “Fuck off Loki,” Your eyes darting back out the window. You know he liked messing with you but sometimes you wish he wasn’t. Your flirty exchanges had been going on for a while, him being bold and all but you know it was just to get to you and there was no meaning behind it. It was just how Loki was, sensual yet deceitful. You tried to not let the words get to you.

When you arrived, you were the first to undo your seat belt, climbing over Loki and exiting the car, still embarrassed from what he had said earlier. He however fought the urge to pull you into his lap and kiss you breathless, your sweet blush making his heart stir around in his chest. But he let you pass and you went to Tony and Steve who were waiting outside the decrepit house, a scowl on your face. Loki exited the vehicle and hovered around you and the two other men. 

He made a show of letting his eyes roam around the place, taking note of the lake just a short distance from the house, the rest was forest. 

“This is stupid we are all going to get aids or rabies or something,” You grumbled, foot digging at the gravel. 

“We are not,” Steve cut in.

“I promise it’s mostly sanitary, just a little run down,” Tony reassured. “But there is the matter of rooms, there are more of us than rooms and well, everyone else already called dibs, so you and you know who are sharing the upstairs bedroom to the left. 

Loki turned around and looked at Tony. He nearly cheered when he found the man’s eyes were already pointed in his direction. He got to share a bedroom with you. And your cheeks were that delicious shade of scarlet he was becoming so accustomed to. 

You stalked over to Loki, a pout on your full lips as you shared the news. 

"I guess there will indeed be a lot of screaming tonight." Loki teased. 

You rolled your eyes. “Stop being gross, Loki,” His smile fell. Usually you shot right back but all today you had shut down everything he’d said. He honestly wasn’t used to it. Was he being gross? He thought you had liked the flirting. He thought you had some feelings for him, even. Maybe he was wrong. 

Disheartened he got his bags and followed you into the building, the wind chilling his nose. He was glad to be inside. Your comment and the weather had left him feeling quite chilled.

Sam made dinner and a fire was lit inside, tony brought a broom and swept around, making the dust rise. You wrinkled your nose and said you were going to bed early. Loki decided he wouldn’t follow immediately. 

“Jesus, if I thought the kid would be this miserable I wouldn’t have forced her to come,” Tony said regretfully, had rubbing the back of his neck. 

Loki sighed, “It might have actually been something I said...” Everyone’s eyes were immediately on him and he felt small. A chorus of “what did you do this time?” and “what’d you say?” rang out. He didn’t like it but maybe your friends understood why you were suddenly being so cold to him. 

“It was just harmless teasing!” He defended. Wanda was the first one to show some understanding.

“I shouldn’t be telling you this, but I don’t want you to piss her off more,” The woman’s voice lowered. “She really likes you you idiot, ‘harmless’ isn’t so harmless when you actually care about the person,” 

Loki looked around. Everyone was nodding in understanding. “You mean to tell me Y/N has feelings for me?” 

Sam groaned. “I thought you picked up on desires and all that shit,” 

“Not when he is blinded by his own!” Thor chuckled loudly, delighted that his brother’s emotions were being discussed. 

The dark haired god elbowed his brother and sent him a chilling glare before standing. “I am going to retire for the night I think,” 

He was nudged and bumped and a couple people whistled while Steve reminded him to be mindful of your feelings. It nearly made him gag. The stairs creaked and he had to fight the urge to look behind him. He wasn’t scared but he could understand your discomfort with the place. 

When Loki opened the door you were sitting at the edge of the bed, staring at your unopened suit case. “Thinking about leaving?” He said, simply to make you aware of his presence. 

You whipped around and shrugged. “No, everyone wants me to be here, I wont ditch even if this is probably the worst thing I’ve had to do all year.” 

“Ouch, didn’t think sharing a room with me was so terrible,” He tried but worried he had crossed another line. 

“Thats not it Loki, I dont care about that, I just dont like spooky shit, even movies bug me. I haven’t gone to a haunted house since I was fourteen.” 

“You know me,” He said, sitting next to you, “What other monsters are there left for you to be frightened of?” 

You frowned deeply, eyes connecting with his. “You aren’t a monster Loki,” 

He shrugged indifferently. 

“Clowns though, clowns are fucked up. And demons, and ghosts, and-” you sighed. “I’m being silly aren’t I?” 

Loki shook his head. “Everyone has something they fear,” He stated. 

“And what is it that you fear oh mighty Loki?” You asked earnestly but with a jesting tone, leaving him an out. This conversation was nearing dangerous waters and you didn’t want to pressure him into sharing. 

 Loki took a steadying breath. He didn’t mind being honest with you. “That I am damned to be unloved all my life, that I will only be seen as the defective son of Odin, that there is no place for me in this world, nor in Asgard.” 

Your gaze softened and your hand crawled to his. You intertwined your fingers and squeezed gently. “That isn’t true,” you muttered, “You are loved whether you recognize it or not, you have made up for any wrongs committed and you have a place here with m- us, with us....” 

He looked at your intertwined fingers and thought about how yours fit perfectly in his. “Who do you think loves me?” His heart stuttered in his chest. The obvious answer being Thor but he couldn’t be sure that there was any other being outside of his forgiving brother who truly had love for him. The look in your eye made him hopeful though and he suddenly decided that he could push his luck. 

“I am positive you at least have an idea,” You whispered, you pressed your leg against his and looked up at him from your eyelashes. You hadn’t withdrawn your hand yet. 

He could practically hear your heart bursting from your chest and he watched your pulse quicken. Loki’s own heart was working quicker than it had in a long time and he was melting in your warm bubble. The air between you two was charged. 

It didn’t take much and he wasn’t sure who leaned in first but his lip was barely brushing against yours. Your breath hitched and you were nearly afraid to move. Loki gulped and let his hand fall from yours to fall at the nape of your neck as he pulled you against him. You automatically stretched, pressing your chest against his. His other hand went to your hip. 

He experimented and pressed his lips more firmly against yours, his heart thumping when you reacted, your hot breath coming out in a gasp when you chased his mouth with yours. By the time you were sated your chest was heaving and you were in his lap. 

“I’m thinking” Loki spoke, his voice not sounding like his own,”That you might have to tell me one more time who loves me,” 

You rolled your eyes and went to go grab your pajamas but he saw a smile at the corner of you swollen lips. 

“I’m thinking this trip might turn out okay,” You said before walking into the bathroom to change. 

Loki could only grin.

with Eris coming back i wanna give some attention to Asher bc im Like That

specifically, the fact that he might very well be the person Eris referred to as her cousin back when they were both alive. and i’ll get to sth abt that in a second, but first, here’s what the lore regarding this person says:

Cousin, do you remember the streets of the Last City? Do you remember eating fresh red grapes and playing tag between the market stalls? You cannot. We grew, we died, we were reborn. But I remember. It is the one thing I know is true. You used to LAUGH. What manipulation of the fates has led us each to our own calamities? [Forceful, looping script.] I listen to Vanguard channels every day for news of your death. If and when that news comes, I will fly to you at once, no matter where I am and no matter what front I fight on. [Aggressive pressure, carved deep enough into the paper to tear it.] I swear it.

i highlighted the contextually important parts here.

We grew, we died, we were reborn. -> Asher confirms multiple times that he’s never been to the Reef and goes above and beyond to distance himself from Reef Awoken. while this might mean he just died on Earth and doesn’t remember being at the Reef, it’s equally as possible he’s simply Earthborn.

You used to LAUGH. What manipulation of the fates has led us each to our own calamities? / [...] though he is almost more unbelievable than ERI-223, if you look at his smile. -> I used to think Toland was a good contester for being the person she talks about, since he’s also suffered a pretty bad(ass) fate like Eris, so she could be referring to him. But, we do know he’s still as... jovial, as ever. Asher on the other hand is known to be a big ol’ grump. The only time he does anything close to smiling is when he’s being condescending lol

I listen to Vanguard channels every day for news of your death. -> Eris obviously knows what’s going on with Asher’s ‘disease’. The first time we hear about him is in the grimoire where she visits him at the hospital while he’s in a coma after the whole Brakion thing. Toland’s already dead more or less but more importantly, the Vanguard wouldn’t report on him since he’s not affiliated with them because, yknow. He’s a ball. Asher on the other hand (heh) is specifically said to work under the Vanguard and his death would definitely have to be relayed to them.

now, the only reason i’m not 100% on all this is because, as always, the timeline in Destiny is a mess. I’ve talked abt it before but unless we get confirmation that Ghosts are able to revive someone at an age they never were (bc they died early or whatever), i dont see it adding up. Asher looks old, bruh. and he’s Awoken. we do know that while they do age outside of the Distributary, they do it at a much slower rate than humans. so for him to look this old, he must’ve been around for centuries before dying (since humans’ lifespans in this universe are already tripled). but the way the Awoken lore is written, it doesn’t sound like they have been on Earth long enough to warrant him ever getting this old before dying and being rezzed as a Guardian. and by his own admission, he’s been a Guardian long enough to see 6 different Hunter Vanguards come and go, which, while Hunter Vanguards change more quickly than the others, would still give us a rather long timespan. i will point out that all this COULD still add up, just because the timeline in Destiny has always been incredibly vague. so even if it doesn’t seem to add up now, the author’s intent would overrule any inconsistencies.

the other thing i want to put up for debate is the familial aspect of it, since I feel like these two being related feels ‘unbelievable’ (not that it has to be, but lbr). bear with me for a second, im gonna throw a lot of speculation at you but i hope you can understand that im doing my best to keep it in line with what we know: Awoken seem to face some sort of discrimination on Earth. 2 NPC lines hint at this: 1) ‘Who cares if he’s an Awoken? We’re in love, mom!’ 2) ‘I can’t believe it. I don’t mind that he was Awoken, but an artist? I mean, come on!‘ this is today, in a time where Awoken have been on Earth for a while. it was probably worse when they first got here, even tho in the lore, it is mentioned that generally the arrival of the Awoken was seen as something positive (since they came in a time of need, specifically to help. so not only were they seen as actual aid, but they also brought hope that not everything from outer space is here to kill humans). however, i’d say that especially in a day-to-day context, they would still be mistrusted. especially once they started banging humans. we all know how ppl react to outsiders ‘stealing’ things from them.

now, since we’re told that Eris grew up in a ‘mortal-Guardian integrated neighborhood’, when we know that most civilians outside of the Tower tend to be wary or even fearful of Guardians, i think it’s safe to assume she was born into a more ‘progressive’ environment. meaning it wouldn’t be a stretch for her to grow up around Awoken.

we don’t know for sure whether Eris is Awoken or just a Human with a very pale complexion (her being transformed by the Hive doesn’t help). either way, what I’m getting at with all this is that ‘cousin’ doesn’t have to be a familial term. ‘cousin’ is used by the Reef Awoken to refer to Awoken Player Characters (who, even tho it’s later hinted that we’re from the Reef ourselves, are presumed to be Earthborn by said Reef Awoken). ‘brother’/’sister’ is used as well.  if we think Eris is Human, her calling an Awoken kid ‘cousin’ would fit in with her being from an integrating neighborhood. (EDIT: we even have the lore mentioning humans as ‘cousins’ of the Awoken: ‘Those who left went to scour the ruins for lost history and give some succor to their Human cousins [...]’ -lore entry ‘Revanche V’) if we think Eris is Awoken herself, her calling another Awoken ‘cousin’ wouldn’t feel unusual either. on the other hand, there’s the untapped potential in Awoken-Human hybrids that are mentioned by the lore but just *clenches fist* never fkn explored. so her looking so different from him could have a number of explanations and doesn’t necessarily mean they’re not related. but like i said, i think the majority of us can’t see it lmfao

ANYWAY what im saying is that whether ‘cousin’ is meant literally or figuratively, it wouldn’t disprove the possibility of Asher being the cousin Eris mentions as part of her past.

A Second Chance

“I would’ve dropped  you off at Neil’s, but he’s been trying my patience lately. So why bother? I am sure someone will come pick you up eventually.” Alice smiled coldly as she watched formerly half-of Maso take his first shaky steps out of the grimdark Office. The body she had salvaged from another unfortunate Stellan - one whose soul had been reincarnated after his young demise – had been patched up and handed down.

"And remember! If you ever come back to cuase trouble in the grimdark Office again, your death will be an exceptionally long and painful one!" Alice chirped, her fingernails digging into Stellan's shoulder painfully. He jerked back, wincing, and averted his eyes.  

“Perfect! I am glad we understand each other. Now, off you go, shoo!”

Stellan turned down the hallway. It was unfamiliar, looked like every other Office they’ve been to. With a sinking heart, he remembered he wouldn’t have Bradley here to guide him. He wished he would’ve paid more attention to their previous travels.

However, the things out there were most likely much better than what he was leaving behind. He felt Alice’s gaze linger a few seconds longer as he limped away, before she vanished back in her Office.

And then Stellan was alone.

His new body ached and stung from the stitches Jagger had put in after it had been rescued from a grave. Its eyes felt weak and its feet clumsily stumbled over each other. Either they had given him a second rate body to sit in, or he had to get used to having a body on his own for the first time in years.

It was ironic, actually. Stellan had dreamed of owning a very own body for himself on many occaisons, one where he could do what he want and go wherever, with no one else there to tell him what to do. Now he just felt cold and empty. He wished Bradley were here to fill the silence. When he reached out for that presence at the forefront of his mind, he felt nothing but hollow numbness, like tonguing a missing tooth.

Finally free and Stellan was fucking miserable.

He made his way down the hallways, taking random turns in whatever direction felt like it could lead him somewhere better. The Lounge sat empty, its seats covered in thick dust and the vending machine leaking with unidentifiable fluids. Not an abnormal sight to see, if rare, but some Offices shut down after their Stanleys and Narrators leave, or are killed, or kidnapped, or fall in love and move to another one, abandoning their original Offices.

It felt like the Universe took great joy in mocking Stellan, reminding him of how utterly alone he was. For the first time in years, he wanted to find a bottle that smelled as strongly as the juices drenching the Lounge’s carpets and drink it until he forgot everything but the burning in his throat. He had curbed his alcoholism nearly a decade prior, dreaming without it he could hold a good job, pull himself out of the mess his life had become and afford starting again in a better community.

Ever since he took the first step for change, accepting an office job promising to uphold a decent lifestyle, things haven’t stopped spiraling downwards.

‘Maybe I should’ve stayed a drunkard,’ Stellan thought bitterly as he focused on placing a foot in front of the other. Both the pain and the fogginess in his mind made it difficult to walk straight.

‘Ending up with liver poison and a friendly face per night would’ve been a much better fate. Hell, I could’ve met someone nice and spent an average life with them. But noo, I had to become a better person and start dreaming. And look where that got me.’

So wrapped up in his self loathing, Stellan didn’t notice another Stanley standing in the middle of the hallway until he nearly ran straight into him. In a flash, his thoughts had vanished and he couldn’t help stare.

The other Stanley...looked normal enough. He had the typical brown hair parted in the middle and messy with a morning look, warm brown eyes, and freckles scattered playfully on his nose. His employee outfit clean and nicely ironed; the nametag which read 'Hi! My name is Stanley!' looked new.

He looked normal but he didnt feel normal. This Office was abandoned, no doubt, so where had he come from? If he were a new Stanley, surely he would be frightened with the change of scenery and lack of directions.

Yet he simply stood there and smiled at Stellan, like they had agreed to meet up and Stanley was happy he came.

"Uhh?" Stellan tried and his vocal cords cringed at the unaccustomed strain. He coughed awkwardly and tried again, this time managing a hoarse mutter.

“H-hey, can you help me? I think I’m lost.”

"Of course I can help!" The Stanley said, his voice surprisingly gentle. He offered his hand for Stellan to take. "Come with me, I can take you somewhere safe!"

His eyes gleamed brightly in the dim hallway and for a moment Stellan wondered if he had stumbled upon another illusion of a Jonathan. Maybe it had been abandoned after the Narrator left and was never taken care of. But when Stellan hesitantly took his hand, it was warm and human to the touch. Not even Jonathan could imagine an illusion that felt so real.

The other Stanley beamed with joy and Stellan glanced away.

The Office looked even worse than Stellan had expected. Beyond the Lounge, as they headed back towards room 427, he noticed some rooms had their ceilings caved in, others with windows shattered. The left door was blocked completely with some filing cabinets but his mysterious guide didn't bat an eye at the havoc.

They turned into another hallway past room 420, and headed deeper. Stellan gave up trying to make sense of where they are going so he focused on the warm hand clutching his. It felt so foreign to be holding it and comforting at the same time.

“You’ve got a long journey behind you, don’t you?” The other Stanley said, sometime after they passed through another portal finally, into another Office. It smelled warm like a heated kitchen and no matter how hard Stellan looked, he couldnt find even one piece of stray paper on the ground.

“You dont know the half of it,” Stellan muttered. He tried to focus on walking, grateful for the hand clutching his. Without it he would’ve surely tripped over his own feet.

“I think I might,” Stanley said, smiling. Stellan shot him a questioning look, but he didn’t offer to elaborate.

“...did someone send you to get me?”

“This way.”

It’s been barely an hour, they couldn’t have known the exact moment I was released, could they?

Whoever they were. Countless of people around the Offices stuck their nosy noses in other people’s business. Stellan could name ten on the top of his head who may have had even the abandoned Offices bugged, grimdarks and the laboratories of one certain evil Narrator included.

Maybe it was desperation talking, or his inability to care about what pain could be further induced on him at this point, emotional or physical. But the other Stanley didnt feel evil. Even if he was mysterious, came out of nowhere and now held a tight grip to his hand as they wandered further into the hallway’s mazes.

If he wanted to hurt Stellan, he could have done it by now.

Unless he is taking you back to the laboratories, a tiny voice quipped.

I’m useless now. Bradley has the body, not me.

You’re not useless. Their whole experiments were centered around pain, werent they? Maybe they’re trying to see how far they can break you.

… then let them. I don’t give a shit anymore, and if they want to fuse me with more Bradleys. I’m tired. I don’t care.

Stanley stopped suddenly in front of a door. He turned back to Stellan and, while he never stopped smiling, it brightened when he looked at him.

“In here.” Stanley said.

“What…?” Stellan glanced at the door. “What’s in there?”

“Oh, didnt I already say? It’s a second chance for both of you.”

Both? Stellan stared in bewilderment and got a knowing smile as an answer.

Wait...

“...Bradley….Bradley is in there too?” How did he get past Alice and her security and her monsters to get him out? She was very clear in what she wanted to do with his other half and how she would maim anyone who tried to free Bradley of his ‘punishment’. Even if the ‘good guys’ wanted to save Bradley, it wouldnt make any sense. Stellan’s own alternate, one of those self proclaimed Office Heroes, even he took part in their capture.

“Life is more than hurting and getting hurt.” The other Stanley continued, infuriatingly vague. “We all have done things we regret, but it doesnt mean we need to suffer for the rest of our lives for it.”

He reached out and cupped his hands around Stellan’s face, and Stel startled at how warm they were. Ever snce Maso – no. Ever since the Office, the hands touching him had been cruel, painful. Cold fingers of scientists prodding, Jagger and his scalpels, agony created by Alice and his very own hands. And yet Stanley’s were so gentle, soft and merciful. Stellan leaned into the touch unconsciously.

His chest stung with an unwanted tightness.

“You’re going to be okay.” The Stanley said. “You and him. I promise.”

Stel was tempted to bite back with sarcasm, but it felt ungrateful to spoil his optimism with bitterness. Instead he hung his head, ashamed.

“We dont deserve a second chance,” he muttered. The hands withdrew from his face and even in the surprisingly warm Office air, Stel felt colder. He waited, but no reply came and when he looked  up again, the hallway was empty.

The other Stanley had vanished.

Stellan sighed and turned back to the door. It looked so simple a few minutes ago and now it seemed more daunting, at the thought of seeing him again. Bradley might blame him for leaving him alone, but Stellan was more afraid he wouldn’t hesitate a second if Bradley offered him a chance to come back.

Anything was better than suffering alone. At least Bradley understood him.

Stellan gathered up his nerves and reached out for the door handle. It stuck, forcing him to rattle it a few times before he managed to get it open. His heart beat hard in his throat.

Now or never, he thought. The door swung open and Stellan stepped inside.

A single desk lamp struggled to light the room, though its glow couldn't reach past the cramped corner in which the cot sat. On the cot, wrapped in a few dozens blankets crouched a figure. Stellan couldn't make out its features so he hesitantly tried a,

"Bradley?"

The figure shuddered. As Stellan took another careful step inside, letting the door swing shut behind him, it shifted and a tired, tear stricken face peered out from underneath the sheets.

Stellan froze and he could feel his heart sink to his stomach.

That wasn’t his Bradley.

Welcome to my ted talk.

So I just watched Catalyst episode(now one of my favs this season whole series) and I just wanted to share my thoughts about it and how this episode foreshadows certain things that might happen in the last episode..

Marinette faces the task of doing a “heroic deed” (even though she is Ladybug) for her classmates during heroes day. She makes promises to them about preparing an “effortful” tasting of different foods for the whole school (something about cakes, pastries,fruits and stuff..I just based it off the subtitles lol)

Of course the whole class is enticed by her idea especially Adrien (the smol bean really took the time to ask his father if he could go😭)

She tries to convince her parents to help her bake the pastries but their hands are also tied up as well (LB cake for the Mayor) and they couldn’t do anything about it. Marinette doesn’t want to be a disappointment to her class since she has promised them that she will do it.

“I made a big commitment to my class... Now I’m going to disappoint them all.”

Her mom advices her: “There’s still some time to tell them the truth. Your friends will understand.”

She replies along the lines : “that wouldn’t be heroic though”

But her mom tells her this:

“Having the courage to face your mistakes, that’s heroic.”

Instantly she replies back saying:

That’s right! There’s time for me to make these macaroons myself! (Not listening to what her mom just said, she ends up having burnt macaroons for the class. Yum)

My point is this:

Throughout the whole show, we’ve seen Ladybug performing the impossible, doing things her own way and never giving in to other’s opinion. There may be times that her actions depends on other people’s opinions especially when she is Marinette.

In certain episodes, Marinette is also naive and indescisve of her own actions. She tries to either ignore, forget or hide her mistakes which shows her being “human” at some point. SHE AVOIDS CONTRONTATION.

Like in Befana, she doesn’t want to disappoint her grandmother so she decides to hide her true feelings about going to the party while being unaware of the consequences of her own actions to her grandmother.

Or her descision to chicken out last minute when it comes to confessing her feelings to Adrien.

Or her indesciveness when it comes to choosing between Adrien and Luka (you had two hands gurl. CHOOSE BOTH XD. Or just be with Kagami instead XD)

This is contrast to her persona as Ladybug who always seems brave, confident and somewhat decisive in making choices.

And almost all of the time, as Ladybug, she plans things and does things her own way. Although Chat Noir does help her out (even Carpace, Rena Rouge and Queen Bee), she always in control from planning to capturing the akuma.

But unknowingly, a storm is brewing.

This is where Catalyst comes in. The episode initiated change. It is not the change itself but the one merely responsible for it.

This episode poses as a sudden threat to not only the mircaulouses but also to that promise that Ladybug made in the first season: “protecting and keeping Paris safe from harm”.

This will be the starting breaking point that will initiate and foreshadow all conflicts in the last episode of the season which I believe is to happen at the “gala” mentioned by Natalie to Gabriel in the latest episode.

Basing from the current episode, my prediction is that the part 2 “Mayura” episode will begin where it last ended: the heroes may have prepared something for the occassion (of course) in the last scene of Catalyst.

In Mayura, this is where we begin to see Marinette’s shy and indecisive persona mainly emerging from Ladybug as the heroes try to defeat Catalsyt and Hawkmoth.

During S1&2, Ladybug, with Chat noir by her side, had to save and defend Paris from any impeding threat especially Hawkmoth. From a simple task: That’s a heavy burden to carry.

Until now, she faces a much bigger threat and she has all of the heroes by her side (which is awesome since this is the first time we meet them all together in one scene).

Yes, although there would be more hands to help her defeat Catalyst and Hawkmoth. There is also an increase chance of casualties present within the circle.

ThINK OF It. If ever any of them is captured/seized, one miraculous could become a major point for Hawkmoth’s side. By just seizing one of the heroes, hawkmoth could find a way to rat out the others thus, endangering not only themselves but also their families and even the whole of Paris!

Edit: Chat Noir could be a likely candiate for being one of the casualties in the last episode since he didn’t appear in the S3 poster👀

So just think of the burden and pressure that Ladybug has on her hands. Everything has to be perfectly planned out. A single blip, miss/error could practically ruin their chances of winning the game.

So, in Mayura, we could possibly see Ladybug and her gang following the plan to capture and defeat Hawkmoth. Everything goes perfectly but then-

the plan goes wrong.

A rising confict they didn’t expect, has happened.

Whether it is a reveal between characters/ Mayura being introduced in the episode/Natalie or Hawkmoth taking advantage of the situation

this idea might happen before the gala & the gala might be the cliff hanger for season 3. im calling it but i dont want that to happen

Inevitably, the heroes’ plan fails.

Similar to the incident wherein Marinette promises to make the food-tasting a reality in the catalyst episode.

We also begin to see Ladybug in a state of denial during the Mayura episode. She tries to keep everything under control but the plan goes horribly wrong. She tries to convince the heroes to keep on fighting but they couldn’t do it anymore. Similar to the response that she recieved from her parents, they simply can’t commit to do it. Fighting the akumas and saving Paris has come to a maximum limit.

Then, we begin to see the main breaking point: ladybug conflicted, once again, if she is really upto the task of defeating Hawkmoth & Catalyst.

Like in zombizou, now, the task is entirely upto her to fix the situation.

REMEMBER WHAT HER MOM SAID: “There’s still some time to tell them the truth. [They] will understand.” AND “Having the courage to face [it], that’s heroic.”

This is a long shot but I think her mom’s advice will help her at a crucial moment. Because this time, in order to resolve the problem: defeating Hawkmoth. First, she has to confront him. This is where the leaks of Ladybug with Hawkmoth in the secret basement perfectly fits. The episode will slowly unravel long-awaited truths the fandom has all been dying for since the first season. Ultimately, preparing the journey for season 3.

Ladybug gathers up her remaining her strength. Somehow, she captures Hawkmoth and seizes his Miraculous, but not realizing he and his akumas are just the cherry on top. Now, she has to look for the creme of the crop. The queen behind the King: Natalie Catalyst Mayura

While some of the heroes are looking catalyst (who somehow managed to become Mayura at this point), seeing that they have accomplished so much: uniting against all odds and “finally” defeating evil, they decided at some point to call off the search for the mean time as they decide to celebrate (thru the gala) since this time, they have captured Hawkmoth. (Not knowing her true powers) and besides, it’s heroes’ day!

Once again, Paris is now at peace and thanks to the heroes, everyone is safe from harm.

Or at least it seems to be.

As the gala begins, Mayura makes her debut as she disrupts the event, causing chaos

Sounds depressing right? But seeing the latest episode. Chat Noir uses cataclysm on himself... is this even a kid’s show? I won’t be surprised if they pull of a cliff-hanger that will leave the fandom devasted. (I call dibs on this)

But I hope her pals would step in to help her and use all of their remaining strength and power to stop whatever brewing storm may be in the last episode and everything ends with a happily ever after. i dont want a cliff hanger pls

So basically my theory for the Mayura episode:

The episode will focus more on the heroes’ journey of defeating and discovering Hawkmoth’s true identity while setting up Mayura as the main villain for season 3

Details about the Miraculous, Gabriel’s motif behind the miraculous and Momma Agreste will be further revealed

This might be too early but i still want this to happen There will be a crucial point wherein heroes/villains may reveal their real identities to each other

The gala will either be the next main location in the episode wherein the heroes’ plan will take place or it will be the place wherein Mayura will be revealed after Hawkmoth is initially defeated by the heroes—cliffhanger for the next season

PS if my speculations are wrong, at least this idea could be a potential fanfic or something LOL

My day started as usual. I roamed the busy streets of New york after yet another cold night on the streets. My jeans were so ripped by now I´m not sure if they still counts as pants and my hoodie that once were dark red is almost black because of all the dirt. My goal was to find someone who looked like they were having a lot of money and then steal it.

I have lived on the streets since I was five years old. My dad was a scientist for some weird organization and often tried new experiments on me, and that’s where my abilities come from I can successfully turn into any animal that has ever been spoken of and fully understand their language. All that gave me an advantage when living on the street. If I didn’t find enough food for me as human I could turn into a little mouse and live on the same food for days. It also gains me advantage in fleeing and stay hidden. If you wondered how I ended up on the streets it is a short story my dad went to work and got killed for some mistake they thought he did, and since they didn’t know I existed they just did not care. I have never had a mom she has never been apart of my life I don’t even know her name and as thanks to my abilities I have never felt welcomed in society.

As I was currently walkin down Manhattan for what felt like the umptienth time today as I spotted a group of six people all dressed in fancy clothing, some more than others. I immediately recognized them as the Avengers. My first and only thought was HIM. That’s my new victim.  

Now, if it had been anybody else from the streets that had spotted them they would run the other way to not get suspecte,d but I saw possibilities.

I quickly pickpocket the nearest person of his phone and got to work. The one I recognized as Tony stark had separated himself from the rest of the group and had walked in to a nearby Espresso house. I had always wanted to ask him some questions about his suit, believe it or not I am quiet smart myself and now I used it to rob someone of their money, but hey don’t judge!

I waited until he had placed his order and waiting for it to get finished before striking up my conversation. And luckily we were the only ones there.

“ And what would bring the famous Tony Stark to our little corner of New york? “

He turned around so he was facing me before answering.

“ Just regular business, but why would that matter to you kid? “

The response was wary, which is understandable since he had never met me before

“ Itś just that I have always wanted to meet you and here you are, and for your information I am no kid I happen to be 16 “

“ Well then what would a beautiful girl such as yourself want with me, hm? “

Now that playfully flirting I was not prepared for. How full of yourself could a man be!

“ I have always wanted to know more about your suit I happen to find it very interesting “

We started a heated discussion on his suit while we waited for his order to finish and I had almost forgotten why I came when the barista called Tony up. I observed closely in which pocket he stored what. just as he finished of with the barista and prepared to leave I took my chance.

“ Hey Tony, I was wondering if I could get a picture before you leave? “

I was sure he got that question often since he didn’t refuse or even hesitate before taking the stolen phone from my hand hand posing. I snuck my hand in his pocket and taking the contents before unnoticed slipping it into mine at the same time as smiling wildly at the camera. When he was content with the picture he gave me back the phone and walked out of the door with a friendly goodbye.

I had almost made it down the streets as I heard someone shout AFTER THAT GIRL! and when I turn my head to look I saw Tony pointing in my direction as the other Avengers started chasing me. I knew I would never be able to outrun them so I started run to closest alleyway so I could change into a animal and flee unnoticed. When I finally found an alleyway far enough from the mass of people on the street the others had almost caught up to me. As fast as I could I turned into a pigeon before flying to sit at the rooftop and observe, that was a BIG mistake since the asgardian Prince could sense the presence of magic no matter how small.

Everybody was in the alleyway looking and was starting to give up when the asgardian whispered something in the redheads ear and pointing straight at…. ME!

Before I could think there was a cage around me and soon after the Avengers had climbed up the pipes surrounding me.

“ Did you really think you would get away with stealing from me?” Tony asked with a slight disappointment evident in his voice. “ I know it’s you kid, Reindeer games here feel the magic surrounding you so it is no point in escaping ´coz we will only capture you again” And with that he gave a nod to the raven haired god who with a snap of his fingers got the cage to disappear.

I slowly turned human again but just stood there staring at my feet. I was ashamed. Tony had been kind to me and I took his things, even I think that is cruel and I have done this my whole life!

“ why did you do it? “ with that he seemed utterly confused

“ because you are famous and I could get a pretty prize for your stuff and get some cash and get food without steal or doing a dine and dash kinda thing” I spoke apologetically.

“ Don’t you get food at home? “ I think he already knew the answer but asked anyway.

“ I dont have one. My dad got killed when I was five and I lived on the streets ever since “ and that were the honest truth, well half of it anyway.

“ Didn’t someone take care of that you got a home? “

“ No, no one knows I exists because nobody cares “

with that I finally met his gaze. The confusion and anger most evident along with a slight hint of disappointment. Tony ones more turned to the raven haired one and whispered something I couldn’t hear. The only response he got were a slight nod. Loki took two steps and was now standing right in front of me. He only looked on me with a look I could not place before clasping something tight around my neck. The sudden feeling of almost choking both surprised me and scared me but when nothing happened my breath returned to normal and I looked to Tony with a scared expression on my face.

“ Wh.. wh.. what was that for? “

“ it’s a magic lock. As long you got the necklace on your magic won’t work we don’t want you to escape now do we? “

He stated it so simply as if this sort of thing was normal. But I suppose that after Loki’s invasion attempt this was a childs play to them. He only signalled to the redhead to take me before turning and getting in to the suit. After calling on a jet to get us we walked into the freakishly tall building wide known as the Avengers tower. After what felt like forever the redhead dragged me into a room completely empty except for the glass wall in the back. And before I knew it I was locked behind the wall that wasn’t a wall but a glass prison, with no way out.

*Meanwhile in the common room*

“ J.A.R.V.I.S get all information you can on that girl “

“ Yes sir “

After a few minutes without a answer from the al Tony asked again but only got confused by the answer that were given to him.

“ There is no girl with her DNA in the record sir. In my files she doesn’t exist “

“ What do you mean she doesn’t exist she is sitting in a cell just on the floor under us! “

“ Hey Tony, remember what she said, no one knows she exists maybe she wasn’t joking? “ the redhead more known as natasha spoke up.

“ Even if no one knows about her there should be some information like a birth certificate or something! “ by now Tony was really frustrated and pacing the floor.

The solution on the problem were interrogation. All of the Avengers had tried to get you to talk and fill out the blanks for them but the answers they got only added to their confusion. That was until a certain god of mischief tried.

“ What do we do now? Each one of us have tried talking to her but she gave us nothing “ Tony said frustrated.

“ Let me try “ Loki that had been seated in the corner of the room suddenly spoke up.

“ You? And what exactly could you do or say that we haven’t tried already hm? “

“ you’ll see. Just give me an hour of unsupervised time with her and you will get your answers “

“ an hour unsupervised time with you in a room with a 16 year old girl that you easely could turn against us? No thanks reindeer games “

1 hour later….

I was just sitting on the floor in my cage. The same I have been doing for the last 17 hours when the door suddenly opened and the one and only Loki of Asgard came in.

“ Have they become desperate enough to trust you to interrogate me? Man, Stark really hate giving up doesn’t he? “

He just stood there doing nothing and it just got more and more uncomfortable until he finally speaks.

“ I know how it feels “

“ how what feels? “

“ being in that cage. They actually built it for me “

I don’t know what game this guy is playing but I won’t fall for it that easily. But something about Loki just got me feeling like I could trust him. And that is a high praise coming from me!

“ I also know how it feels to be left behind and be kicked at when your down. And I know a good amount about how it is to live with a father that doesn’t care “

“how did y….”

“ Know about your father? I’m Loki, of Asgard God of mischief and lies you really think I can’t figure out at least that much? “

“…..”

Loki and I talked for a while and he seemed nice. Not at all as scary as all those articles made him out to be.

We were in the middle of discussing some funny pranks we had pulled when some robot voice interrupted us.

“ Mr. Laufeyson Mr. Stark asked me to inform you that your hour is up and he wants you back in the common area”

“ You are just like them. You just wanted information from me. You don’t actually care “

I had to admit that hurt. Sure it wasn’t a long conversation but he got me. He knew how it was to be thrown away, unwanted and be on your own. He knew. And for once somebody talked to me, but I guess I was wrong. Nobody really cares, and nobody ever will.

“ I do care! “

“ no you don’t, get out from here!”

He didn’t respond, he just turned around and walked out the door like he rushed away from someone. I guess he was to, because who wouldn’t run away from someone like me?

Lokis P.O.V

When I exited the room with her cell I exhaled a deep sigh. I had gotten her to talk I got her name and found out we have a lot in common and stark just have to destroy whatever trust we had managed to build up. As I entered the communal area all the avengers were waiting. And the first to speak were of course Tony.

“so?”

“so what?”

“did you get anything?”

“yes, as a matter of fact I did, right before you interrupted us and destroyed any chance of trust you might’ve had left”

“why would I want to trust her she stole from me!…”

“ she stole from you to survive! For the love of all things norse she is a child Tony!”

That was enough fine if he treated me like a douchebag but a 16 year old girl that has nothing? That was to go to far even for him.

“Tony let her out of that cage. That is not the punishment one deserves for a petty theft. And certainly not the punishment for a child”

“then what would you want me to do? Let her out on the streets to steal some other persons wallet?”

“how about letting her join the mighty avengers? Let her redeem and right her crimes? She might even tell you what she know about H.Y.D.R.A s experiments.”

“ Give me what you know and I will give her a chance, if I judge her safe enough She will get a room on your floor and you are responsible for everything she does. I will let her live here and get a chance but only if you give. Me. What. You. Know.”

“her name is y/n her last name she can’t remember but the streets they use to call her wild cat. Her father worked for H.Y.D.R.A and he kept her a secret from the world just to have his own personal lab rat. When they found out he kept secrets they killed him but somehow she stayed a secret and ran away. Some gang on the streets took her in and teached her the ways of the streets and when she was good enough she left them living on the run an learned how to control her shapeshifting abilities. That is all she told me.”

Y/n P.O.V

My time here in the tower was the best time in my life and everyone around here started to treat me like little sister. Loki and I was currently sitting in his room reading. I was starting to get tired but I really have to finish this book.

“come here y/n your nearly asleep”

“no I have to finish my book”

“ I’ll read you the rest just come here”

Lokis P.O.V

When she stumbled to me in her cute pyjamas and tangled hair she reminded me a bit of Thor when he had just woken up. She was getting comfy in my lap and handed me the book she had been working on all evening and she wasn’t even half way through.

We stayed there for a few more hours finishing the book. She was asleep since a few sentences in but I enjoyed the feeling. The feeling of being trusted, and for once loved and needed. When I started to slowly get up she mumbled something in her sleep.

“Thank you”

I think she said but after a while she said something else. A bit louder this time.

“ I love you dad”

Was she meaning me?

“haha I have a God as my father”

She was meaning me! She loves me…. Someone actually loves me! After all these years someone wanted to be near me. Someone trusted me. And I trust and love her, more than she will ever know.

I’m sure you’ve heard by now they are doing a live action Lilo and Stitch. So lets skip past the middleman and get to all the ways they could potentially screw it up. If Hollywood’s obsession with remakes the last decade has shown, at least 3 of these will probably happen.

1.) they make lilo and her family american. american as possible. living in the northeast or far south so they have identifiable accents. blondes.

2.) they try to make stitch look more like a dog and give him a more quadruped body and more bulldog-like face. bonus points for fangs jutting out of his mouth.

3.) they make stitch more alien, which for hollywood means more like a cloverfield monster or like the mios from godzilla. long bug arms and legs

4.) pleakley and dr.jumba do not appear in the film at all

5.) the unique colorful spaceships from the cartoon are replaced with videogame-esque space helicopters for "realism". expect lots of blue lights and turbine sounds with lense flairs.

6.) stitch now has superpowers and fires beams or corrosive goop from a part of his body. possibly bum for “comedy”

7.) the other 625 experiments play a large part in the film, and have a giant fight scene with an astronomical budget

8.) any and all mentions of elvis are removed so disney doesnt have to pay royalties.

9.) child protection services (and Cobra Bubbles) are now the villains and not just frustrated people trying to do their jobs

10.) at least one shootout with alien guns vs real human guns

11.) an E.T. reference in the trailer or film. glowing finger. trail of candy. just take a guess.

12.) stitch talks in full sentences. unfitting hot young celebrity doing a bad impersonation necessary. like with the Chipmunks films.

13.) stitch is made smaller and fluffier like a Pomeranian or a gerbil or sugar glider so its easier to make toys of him

14.) movie takes place in big crowded city instead of countryside or coast so stitch can cause as much damage to cars, buildings, and other dogs as possible and get the most out of their cgi budget. gotta have lots of shrapnel flying around.

15.) movie isnt about stitch learning not to be an asshole. its about nani and lilo learning to live with the fact their pet is an asshole. stitch stays the same.

16.) at least 5-6 jokes of stitch doing "dog" things wrong. like he pees on a fire hydrant and it melts or explodes into flames. or he plays fetch and drags back a hobo’s leg. snare drum. canned laughter.

17.) one reference to ALIEN where a smaller mouth comes out of stitch's mouth

18.) cgi on stitch is jurassic world tier and he looks like crap in every scene. everyone hopes its unfinished cgi. then the movie is released and the truth dawns on us.

19.) lilo is an outcast for trivial reasons and not because she's actually got interests normally considered bizarre amongst children. she will be as bland as possible. for relatability.

20.) Stitch now wears a space-suit at all times. It produces gadgets that help him do things. Nobody finds it weird for him to wear. Bonus points if his suit talks as well in a famous comedian’s voice.

21.) Angel, from the animated series, added to films plot to give Stitch a love interest. if not Angel, a new girl monster will be invented.

22.) stitch is now a species and not a science experiment and theres almost none of him left so we can shoehorn in a badly written message about conservation or poaching into the film's story

23.) stitch now eats something SILLY!!!!! to make kids laugh. like other dogs poop or car tires or something. remember the hong kong phooey and chipmunks trailers? yeah.

24.) rather than have stitch be destructive and dangerous, because we want kids to look up to him because hollywood are stupid,  instead he is valuable for some reason but has the ability to be invisible to hide from things

25.) sideplot about FBI trying to track down and capture stitch like men in black but devoid of humor. so like Men in Black 2 basically. (men in black 3 was great)

26.) popular american pop star (gaga, del ray, good charlotte, kendrick lamar) does a cover of a famous hawaiian song for the movie’s theme and trailer. it will be forgotten a week after the film premier.

27.) lilo is played by like a 12-16 year old girl instead of a very wee child. her problems will be angsty teenage problems. she will be a snobby jerk to her sister the whole film.

28.) lilo and nani will be portrayed as being fairly middle-class and not basically living in poverty with broken inherited crap from their deceased parents.

29.) lilo and nani's parents are still alive but are simply absent for some reason. alternatively, nani is now written to be lilo’s mother instead.

30.) stitch is now grey instead of blue for realism. animals dont have colors in real life, and they sure as hell wont when they are a cgi monster either.

31.) any and all references or allusions to hawaiian culture and life is removed from the film so that chinese audiences will be more likely to see it and not be turned off by seeing people that arent them, thus potentially killing off most of the film’s potential profits

32.) no actual elvis songs in the film. instead terrible covers by modern day dubstep / r+b / country artists are included instead. bonus points if lilo or stitch sing off key in one of the songs

33.) movie is barely about lilo and stitch. it is about lilo's new love interest, some new character nobody gives 2 craps about. it worked for Ghost Rider / Green Lantern, right?

34.) lilos obsession with photographing people on the island is changed to her photographing animals which is how she finds stitch in the first place

35.) alien council want stitch back. not because he's a criminal or dangerous but because he stole [insert macguffin] and gosh they need it back right away!!! bonus points if this leads to a chase scene on surf boards.

36.) alien council dont decide to forgive stitch and leave him on earth. they try to take him back by force and have to be defeated/blown up by either stitch/lilo/the army

37.) Ohana and what it means is never mentioned in the entire duration of the film.

38.) Stitch now makes generic monster sounds you hear in every movie. are you tired of hearing elephant honks slowed down by 600% yet? TOO BAD.

39.) Stitch is played by an actual dog and they superimpose cgi quills and an extra pair of legs onto it. when he talks his mouth will be CGI and look kinda crap. like those AIR BUD movies.

40.) they make stitch more humanoid and the movie is now a romance between him and lilo. everyone will feel really uncomfortable.

This poem by WB Yeats tells of faeries charming children away from the human world, an old Irish legend for why children sometimes disappeared seemingly into thin air. It was said the children ran away to Faeryland. Loreena McKennitt (composer/arranger) has given the piece the more modern meaning of childhood being stolen by media and technology. I dedicate this song to all those whose childhood was stolen from them.

My degree alas is not in English, however being Irish qualifies me to see possibly were others cannot. Please dont take this as being smug.  We have a saying in Ireland 'away with the fairies' were applications can be used for daydreaming in thought but moreover the term is used to describe madness, further achieved in the poem by the repetitive use of the word 'weeping'. The water in Irish folk lore is a place called Tir Na Nog, the land of eternal youth directley pointed to: 'Far off by furthest Rosses we foot it all the night' with a capital R being the Rosses in Sligo, by the sea aka Tir Na Nog.  The leafy Island is Inisfree, again in Sligo can be seen at the bottom of Glen Carr (lough Gill) looking out towards Rosses point. I think the reference of 'Human child' is of the human race and not a boy as suggested, rather if one lives in grief he grows old and looses his youth (innocence) with the realities and pains of weepng and grief, were if he turns his back on the realities of weeping he tricks himself into madness, in step the faery folk. So, to keep his innocence some trickery of the other world brings him into moonlit madness. The slumbering trout while asleep is aware he may caught, the fairies I suppose whisper to his ear the threat of capture.  For here he comes, yes the achievement of capture by willingness is quite a frightening prospect, in weeping do we stay in reality or escape into denial and into the world of the fairy with the promise of eternal youth?  In short, I think its the transition of youth into manhood with either madness from weeping as a reality or leaving this realm into Tir Na Nog as an alternative reality are but our only choices.  As the legend goes, if you enter Tir Na Nog, you never come back. / I also think that James Clarence Mangan (an other great Irish poet) was a source of much inspiration to Yeates and his very public demise into madness may have been a strong influence in this poems flavour.  Please respond

The Exo-Martian/Joopistein Conflict of 88,000,902 BC

Back in the day, before humans did their hum, I was a far more independent planet. I had an atmosphere and single celled life! I was all set to become the next earth!

It was only a matter of time before a truly sentient being evolved... I wasnt impatient, I was ready and willing to wait millions of years if thats what it took.

I didnt have a crush on the most wonderful planet in the galaxy yet, I got good grades, I was skilled in PE sports and really life was great!

But... Sol... She kept wearing down my atmosphere with solar wind. She said I wasnt supposed to have life and that she had the right to remove my atmosphere if she needed to. It simply wasnt my destiny to be a lively place, she said.

But what Sol didnt seem to understand is that im pretty far away. If I had a proper ozone than I could have life regardless of what Sol wanted. My atmosphere would just absorb all her radiation.

Where could I get an ozone layer though? I needed lots of gas in specific types to form a nice strong ozone. Because of my small size, my magnosphere sucked and I needed an even stronger atmosphere than earths!

So... I went to get some from the only source close enough: The Joopistein. Or as you know her today, Jupiter.

I opened interplanetary communication with her and we discussed my total extinction problem. I asked her to lend me some of her mass. A tiny, tiny amount to her. O.1% of specific parts of her massive atmosphere would be all I needed.

She said no.

I asked again, more frantically.

She said no again.

I BEGGED her for the materials to have an ozone layer that worked, saying that if I didnt get it every living thing on me would freeze to death. Single-celled life cannot maintain activity in subzero temperatures!

I cried, pleaded, tried as hard as I could to convince her! But even back then we were on bad terms and she didnt want to help me.

So I stopped talking to her, and began work on Operation Raptor V. (Yes... I know thats a dorky name. I was young back then and thought it was cool okay?)

Within a few years, (in a huge hurry because time was running out fast. In a matter of decades everything on me would be extinct.) I raised a pro-mars space armada of thousands of asteroids and a few dozen moon-sized dwarf planets.

The plan was, I explained to them, was to capture the Joopisteins favorite moons and shred her outer atmosphere with meteor strikes. I know what youre thinking, "wtf mars you were going to start a space war?" yes, yes I was. I was desperate during that time! I had to grab the materials needed to save the lifeforms on my surface!

So, when the Stars of War aligned, we begun our invasion. I called myself Exo-Mars back because I thought I was a bit of a badass after my victories in the asteroid belt, and I had earth (who is larger than I am) SURRENDER to me not long before that time without me even attacking her! (She was kind of weird about it, as if she WANTED to surrender to me. And she called me "Ma'am" for a little while after that without me telling her too.)

Anyway, so here I was with an army and feeling hardcore right? I thought if I went in fast enough, the Joopistein would feel overwhelmed by the sheer number of asteroids and moons and would be afraid what would happen to her moons if she didnt give me what I wanted. So she would surrender quickly without a long fight. And yes I know I sound cruel but ive changed since then I promise! I wouldnt really hurt innocent moons anyway!

Unfortunately for me, when you have an army of thousands at least one of them is probably a traitor. The Joopistein was warned of my attack beforehand so when it started all of her moons had either gone inside her outer atmosphere for protection or had gone behind her or simply fled into the outer solar system to return later. Its hard to change orbits quickly in space when your momentum is still up, so if I turned around at that point the attack would just have to wait until another time. But if I retreated, the asteroids would scatter again as they do (they are very disorganized and unreliable soldiers) and it could take me a whole year to arrange them into an a concentrated attack pattern again!

So, being the arrogant little planet I was, I declared that we would attack the Joopistein directly!

About a quarter of my army routed right away. It sucked. I didnt give up though, life wasnt going extinct on me if I could help it!

"JOOP! LAST CHANCE! I NEED OZONE, AND YOU HAVE PLENTY! GIVE ME SOME!" I demanded. Confident now. No more begging: I would be given what I wanted or I would take it.

She only laughed.

So, the battle begun. Wave after wave of meteors pelted and whizzed by the Joopistein. Some made it out, some didnt. I dont understand why they dont mind being engulfed by planets. It sounds very painful. But not to them I guess...

Joopisteins atmosphere started getting a little messed up, like burning clouds of gas would get launched into space. But she was so unbelievably big that the giant clouds meant nothing to her.

The circled her, pelting the Joopistein more and more. Problem was I was losing more of my army than they were doing damage. They were heating her up all right but it wasnt exactly doing anything to make her surrender. I started getting worried so I sent in the dwarf planets.

Then something awful happened. Jupiter used her secret attack: The Septa Aurora. Her poles glowed and whispered dangerous ideas to my moons and asteroids with the power of the mightiest planet in the solar system...

Some flew off into space. Some continued their attack, but... The majority turned on me.

A cloud of projectiles moving at insane speeds I had never seen them go before were coming right at me. The bulk of my armada had turned against me because of some flashy lights. (okay I know theres more to it then that but still...)

At that moment, I knew I had lost. The great Exo-Martian empire was at its end and I had no choice but yo surrender. I raised the white rock in meloncholy and humiliation.

Yet, I did not want to die. And I could tell by how she was looking at me that she did not want to spare me. I had critically damaged two of her moons and they wouldnt ever recover. I had damaged her own planetary stability and had assaulted her with what amounted to a swarm of flying ants. She was furious and wanted to see me suffer. Im not saying she didnt have a good reason to, either.

But luckily, Sol noticed what was happening and told Joopistein to accept my surrender. Back then Sol was a much stricter authoritarian and she was likely to report her to Galaxy Centre after punishing her severely if Joopistein destroyed me. She didnt want to risk that so she accepted my surrender.

We were at peace after that, but a bunch of surrender conditions and war reparations were put on me. My badass exo helmet with the spike on it was removed, leaving only the goggles behind. All of my moons except two were taken from me and given to Joopistein. I wasnt allowed to accept any material from any planet anymore, even if they gave it willingly. Sol has her own punishments in mind for picking a fight which included a long range solar flare that left me dazed and shocked for a while and exterminated everything on me in a blast of radiation.

The last condition made by what is now Jupiter was that I had to do any chore she wanted for the next 700 million years.

And THAT is the sad story of why I have to go do dishes for Jupiter among other things... *sigh* 612 million years to go...

(The Akuma flies above the city, he smirks and casts a spell upon the city) Akuma: Time for the real life Purge to begin! >:) (A couple of seconds later, everyone jolts up from their beds, hearing the sound of a loud siren)

Jeremy: God, why are all akuma’s like this?!?

(Suddenly, an announcement echoed throughout the city, talking about something called "The Purge")

Michael: Wait...no...NO we are NOT in that god awful movie!!

(As soon as the word "Purge" was heard by Jane, she immediately bolted out of her room and started dragging every precious thing she can think of into her room. Joe

walks out of his room and sees Jane dragging the shelf that once contained the Miraculouses)

Joe: ...I’m assuming you know what this purge means?

Jane: YES I FUCKING DO! It's when every crime in the nation becomes legal MEANING that during the Purge, it's A OK to break into someone's house! So i'm NOT gonna let

ANY Miraculous related thing you own get stolen by some freak!!

Joe: O_O

Jane: So yeah, gotta put every single precious thing in the house in my room!

(Joe nods and pulls out his phone for a group text, telling everyone to meet up and to be extra careful)

Eric: *text* Alright, meet you there!

(Joe nods and closes the text and looks up to see Jane running back to her room but carrying Kirsty) Joe: How did you...? Jane: ADRENALINE. Kirsty: Janey, I know my parents are out of town but you didn’t have to break me out of my own house... Jane: I DONT CARE! EVERYTHING PRECIOUS STAYS CLOSE TO ME

(Jane puts Kirsty in her room and runs out only to get Mittie)

(She then sits in her pile of stashed objects, holding Kirsty and Mittie close) Joe: ...Alright then I’ll...be back soon...

Jane: Wait Dad, stay! I know you're a Miraculous Holder but i don't want to loose you in whatever hellstorm is gonna brew up out there! D:

Joe: Jane, an akuma is causing this, and I’m not letting my children fight this without me!

Jane: I've SEEN clips and trailers for the Purge movies! I learned the basics of how this goes! Even if an Akuma is doing this, i don't want you getting killed by some

maniac! *she lets go of Mittie and Kirsty, then she holds onto Joe's arm* You're just as precious to me as everything and everyone else i care about!

Joe: Jane...what kind of father would I be if I hid while the rest of my children risk their lives out there? I have to do this to protect them, and you.

Jane: *looks at Joe for a few seconds and squeezes Joe's hand* If you're gonna do this...just please...PLEASE...be careful...i...i don't know...what i'll do...if i

loose you, Dad... *starts tearing up*

Joe: I will, darling. You be brave and stay safe, and keep these two out of trouble. *winks at Kirsty and Mittie*

Kirsty: We’ll be okay! (Joe gives a little kiss on Jane’s forehead) Jane: Please be okay, Dad...

Joe: I will... (He transforms and flies off)

(Jane holds onto Kirsty and Mittie, as Owl leaves the house)

(Owl flies to a roof where the other holders are waiting)

Leo: There you are Owl Dad!

Owl: Did everyone arrive safely?

Hound: Yep!

Owl: Good; hopefully this won’t be like Party Maniac Where we get separated and captured. Tiger: Knock on wood. Owl: So we have to find the akuma

Timber: Yeah, and once we do, we beat the crap out of him! Like we usually do.

Coral: I still can’t believe we’re living this stupid movie...

Owl: How is this "stupid"? From what i heard from Jane, it actually sounds terrifying having a day where every crime in the nation be legal.

Leo: Yeah, but they never explain WHY or HOW it works and causes World Peace! Pacific: I hear the other movies are better since it’s really just a ploy from the government to kill off all the poor people

Owl: O_O Well, i have to disagree with the fact this “Purge” causes World Peace. Peace cannot be achieved through death and destruction, and using it to eliminate the

poor is just sick and wr- Cyber: Can we talk about those films AFTER we deal with the Akuma?!

Atlantic: PLEASE

Owl: Fine...

(They start looking for the akuma)

(As they search for the Akuma, they look and see that a couple of people have taken advantage of the Purge, such as people breaking into stores and stealing whatever

they want)

Swan: It looks like no ones stooped to murdering yet

Timber: Yeah... (Suddenly, Timber’s ears perked up, hearing the sound of a dog crying)

Timber: Oh HELL no...! (He immediately jumps away from the group towards the noise) Cyber: Jordan?!

(Timber follows the noise until he sees a man cornering a dog, shaking and crying in fear) (The man raises a gun near the dog with a wicked grin on his face)

Man: No more howling at 2am for you! Finally I can get some sleep!

(Timber glares at the man and leaps down towards the dog)

(He knocks the gun away just as it fires, making it fire into the air) Timber: Hey now, what kind of prick goes around shooting innocent dogs for fun? >:(

Man: The ones who want some FUCKING sleep! >:(

Timber: It’s a STRAY! It doesn’t know any better!

Man: Who cares?! It’s been keeping me awake every single night! About time I shut that little fucker’s face for good! >:(

Timber: Okay then... (He sucker punches the man and knocks him out)

Timber: That’ll teach ya! >:( (He looks at the stray dog, who’s tail was wagging at Timber)

Timber: Okay, buddy, head back to where ya came from and stay outta trouble, okay?

(The dog barks and walks away)

(Timber smiles as the dog walks away, then he jumps up and runs to reunite with the group)

Cyber: Jordan! What on earth was that about, you scared me to death!

Timber: I saved a stray from a psycho, that’s what I did.

Hound: Awwwww dad!! Looking out for my army :Dc

Timber: Yep! No dog’s gonna get killed tonight or ever! >:(

Atlantic: There are some real scumbags out there...

Leo: Yeah...

(They keep looking)

(After a few minutes, they hear a car explosion followed by gunshots)

Frill: Okay, NOW it sounds like we’re in a Purge movie!

(They look and see two large groups of people having an all out war with each other)

Timber: *listens to the yelling* Oh... -_- (The other strong listeners listen in too) Hound: Well... Tiger: I’m not THAT shocked...

(The non-strong listeners look at them with a confused look) Cyber: What? What are they yelling about?!

Scarlet: Sports!

Cyber: ...They're having an all out war...over sports? -_-

Pacific: Oh...that makes sense...sports fans are bloodthirsty...

Dasher: They pull off all kinds of crazy shit all because their team lost or something... -_-

Timber: And judging by this...this could get ugly...

Leo: Yeah, let's get out of here before things get worse... O_O

(They Head off and keep looking)

(As they keep going, more noises and sounds can be heard, like car crashes, more gunshots, screams, and at one point, every screeched to a halt as they saw a whole

bunch of big fireworks go off)

Jade: Goodness...! O_O

The dude that lighted up the fireworks: YEAH BABY! LIGHT UP THE SKY!! WOOOOO!!!! >:D

Maiden: *shudders remembering Party Maniac* Whew! Bad memories...

Cloudy: Yeah! (In the corner of Dasher’s eye, he sees someone walking out with a bunch of DVDs labeled “Hamilton Bootleg”) Dasher: *GASP* >:O

Timber: *takes his shoulder* Pick your battles Speedy...

Dasher: B-B-But THAT asshole has bootlegs of MY SHOW!! >:(((

Papillion: Bootlegs aren’t THAT bad you know...it lets people see shows that they can’t afford... Hound: Plus it’s IMPOSSIBLE to get tickets to YOUR shows

Dasher: True...but seeing those bootlegs doesn't have the same magic as seeing them live... :(

Natura: Trust me, we know Papillion: If anything, bootlegs make us want to see them live even MORE

Dasher: Wait, really?! O_O

Hound: You think we LIKE watching shows with shitty visuals and audio?! It sucks!! But it’s the best we got so we suck it up

Dasher: *crosses his arms* Even though that kind of stuff is pretty much illegal to make, i...can see why you're all willing to do that... :/

Atlantic: Can we please discuss all these illegal things AFTER shit isn’t blowing up??

Dasher: Oh! Right! Man, we are getting off-topic tonight, aren't we? XD

Leo: Yeah XD (They head off)

(They keep going, hearing and seeing all the things people are doing in the Purge, until they see where the Akuma's "lair" is. The Akuma settled himself in City Hall,

walls painted in blood red paint and a large army of mind controlled soldiers with guns and masks on their faces stand in front of city hall)

Leo: Of course -_-

Tiger: Sooo...do we fight the army of soldiers or do we just simply break in? :/c

Inferno: I think we'd all prefer to break in and get out of this with as little blood as possible XS

Cyber: Yeah, the last thing we need is a little bloodshed *looks at Timber* Especially you, Jordan.

Timber: Then don't put yourself in a position to get hurt. *passive aggressive stares*

Cyber: I won't, hopefully...

Ursa: Maybe you should stop being a human shield for once. Timber: Maybe you should mind your goddamn business. >:(

Ursa: Oh, i'm sorry! Didn't mean to OFFEND the living shield for ONE man who literally has the power to defend himself if he activates it! >:(

Timber: Adrenaline makes you do stupid shit, Matt! And for your information, Silver Claws DOESN'T make me invincible, I'd STILL get stabbed or shot! >:(

Ursa: Even so, your HUSBAND, as Cyber Shock, can defend himself! He can use electricity for whatever he wants! Hell, he could electrocute a foe if he wanted to! With

that kind of power in his hands, he doesn't NEED a living shield defending him! >:(

Hound: To be fair, this usually happens when Cyber has no time to defend himself or shock away the problem...

Ursa: So? Even in those kind of scenarios, you SHOULDN'T be risking your own life just so Eric could live! >:(

Atlantic: GUYS!!! Akuma now, controversial romantic bullshit later!! >:(

Timber: ...Fine *glares at Ursa*

(They sneak above the army and break into the building)

(Once they got into the building, they see a large group of mind controlled soldiers, standing there and ready to fire at them)

Tiger: ...Fuck. Frill: *jumps in front with Coral* IMMUNE SHIELD!! (Everyone ducks behind Coral and Frill as the soldiers open fire, hitting the shield and Coral's shell)

Leo: Jesus Christ!! O_O

Pacific: Thank god for shields!!!

Tiger: Yeah!!

(Eventually the bullets run out)

(The soldiers immediately throw the guns away and pull out knifes, bats, and other weapons)

Dasher: Okay, close combat! Much better! (They fight)

(The soldiers and the Armada fight each other, the Soldiers wanting to deal heavy blows on them. During the fight, while Timber was busy trying to beat up a soldier,

another soldier sneaked attacked Cyber and used a sharp knife to make a deep cut on Cyber's arm)

(Cyber screams and clutches his arm before shocking him)

(Timber hears Cyber's scream)

Timber: Will?! Cyber: I'm okay...!

(They keep fighting for a while, eventually, they manage to beat all the soldiers. However, the whole Armada had bloody cuts, stab wounds, and bruises all over their

bodies, Atlantic and Timber being the only ones to have bloody broken noses)

(They all stand together, breathing heavily)

Owl: Thank the heavens...we all...miraculously...survived...

Hound: Pun...intended...?

Owl: No...it's...a miracle...we lived...through this...brutal brawl...

Tiger: Dude...it's a joke...we're 'Miraculous' holders...and...we did something...MIRACULOUS...

Owl: Oh...forgive me...that fight...really messed with my mind...so i wasn't thinking straight...

Leo: Let's just...get the akuma...

Timber: Yeah...let's...go...

(They make it to the main office)

(They see the Akuma, sitting in the office chair like a throne. He looks at the Armada and smirks widely)

Akuma: You all made it, bravo

Akuma: And look at all of you! I'm surprised you all survived my soldier defense squad! >:)

Tiger: Don't...fuck with us...

Akuma: Well *gets up from the chair* now i'm gonna fuck you all up more! >:)

Atlantic: Great...fuck you...

(The Akuma leaps towards them and they start fighting)

(The holders shakily fight, still exhausted from the soldiers)

(The akuma takes advantage of this by grabbing the chair and throwing it at Cyber, and it hits)

(The chair hits Cyber and he falls down and struggles to get up)

Timber: WILL...!!

(Cyber tries to shock him, but the akuma stomps on his chest and pulls out a knife) Akuma: Say goodbye! (Right when he's about to stab, Timber steps in and blocks it with his claws)

Akuma: What the?!

Timber: You keep away from him!! *pushes the akuma off Cyber*

Akuma: AH! *stumbles as Timber pushes him away*

Cyber: Jordan...

Timber: Will!

(Timber helps him up) Timber: You okay? Cyber: Yeah...and look at that, you saved me in a way that didn’t involve you getting hurt ;)

Timber: Heh, yeah! :)

Timber: But let’s not get our hopes too high while it’s still chaos

Cyber: Yeah...

Akuma: *growls at Timber* So...tough guy, huh? Swooping in to save the damsel?

Timber: Yes, that's what i do if Will's in danger! >:(

Akuma: How touching...

Akuma: Well, if you're willing to save HIM *he quickly grabs Leo and Hound and lifts them up by the neck* Will you save them? >:)

Cyber and Timber: HEY!!

(The Akuma tightens his grip on Leo and Hound, waiting for Cyber and Timber to act)

(Cyber then shoots lightning at the akuma at rapid speed, making him let go of the boys)

Akuma: GAH!

(The boys run to their dads)

Leo and Hound: DAD!

(They push the boys behind them) Timber: Stay behind us, boys.

Hound: Alright...!

(Cyber and Timber glare at the akuma)

(The Akuma glares back at them)

Akuma: Well, what a nice little family we have here

Akuma: Even so, you’re all in a pretty bad shape to do anything! I like to see you all try taking me down! >:)

Timber: Yeah...but at least there's 29 of us...and only one of you...

Dasher: Even if your little army fucked us up, we can still fuck YOU up! >:(

(The fight continues)

(The Holders try the best the can to give it their all against the Akuma, inspite their injuries.)

(The akuma manages to keep up with all of them due to them being tired and slightly injured)

Timber: Come on...!! (They keep fighting)

Akuma: God this is annoying...do you know how hard it is to pick a hostage with this many heroes? >:(

Timber: Wait, what?!

Akuma: I didn't want to do this, but I had to think outside the box if I wanted to keep you down...so I did. >:) (He opens a cabinet, revealing Jane curled up inside, looking a bit ruffled from being taken; she looks up at the holders, but doesn't move or speak) Akuma: Don't worry about that; she knows that if she makes a peep or a move then her little girlfriend's done for. >:)

Owl: JANE!!

(Jane tears up, but doesn't speak as she stares at him)

(Owl glares at the Akuma, anger building up)

Jade: What did you do with Kirsty?! Akuma: The runt? Oh she's somewhere else in this building, but all I have to do is press a button *holds up a remote* And she's done for. (Jane squeezes her eyes shut and hugs her knees in despair)

(Owl fumes with anger upon seeing Jane hugging her knees in despair)

Owl: You're a monster...!

Akuma: Of course i am! I'm an Akuma after all! >:)

(The holders glare at him) Leo: *softly* now what?!

(Cyber looks at Owl, who's shaking in anger)

Cyber: *softly* We need to find Kirsty, or at least get that remote away from him...

Timber: *softly* Yeah...

Karma: *softly* Leave that to me... Camouflage...!

(Karma turns invisible)

(He sneaks around to the akuma, eyes on the remote)

(Once he got close to the Akuma, he snatches the remote out of the Akuma's hands)

Akuma: What the-?! (Owl then storms forwards and punches the akuma’s face, HARD)

(The Akuma gets knocked down to the ground and Owl pins him down by the neck, glaring and growling at the Akuma in rage)

Owl: You have CROSSED THE LINE!!

Owl: No one shall EVER harm MY DAUGHTER AND HER GIRLFRIEND!! >:(((((

Owl: Now where did you put Kirsty?!

Akuma: Erk...i'm not...telling...! >:(

Dasher: I’ll scour the building; gimme ten, fifteen seconds tops >:(

Owl: Do it as fast as you can, Dasher! Dasher: Yes sir! *runs off*

(Ten seconds later, he comes back) Dasher: I found her! Jade: ...And? Dasher: ...And we’re gonna need some special treatment to get her out in one piece...

The Trinity: WHAT?!

Dasher: Yeeeah theres shit involving a guillotine and I think I saw some fireworks and trip wires down there, guy spared no expense...

Owl: *glares at the akuma* ...You were going to ANNIHILATE Kirsty?!?! >:((( *tightens his hold on the akuma*

Akuma: Erk...!! (Leo and Hound get Jane out of the cabinet and comfort her)

(Jane holds onto Leo and Hound tightly, letting out a few sobs)

Hound: It’s okay, we’ll get Kirsty back... (The kids gather around them for extra comfort)

Timber: Alright...how are we gonna get Kirsty out of there in one piece?

Cyber: Dasher, lead us to where she is; Timber, Atlantic, Jade, Scarlet, with me, the rest of you make sure the akuma doesn’t get away...

Ursa: *nods* Alright.

(They follow Dasher and they lead him down to the basement of the building)

(Once they got to the basement, they see Kirsty and everything else around her)

(She’s tied up and her head is under a guillotine; the whole room is packed full of explosives and tons of trip wires are set up that one wrong move would either set

off the explosives or the guillotine)

Scarlet: Oh god, baby sis...!!

Kirsty: *crying* Help....

Jade: D-Don't worry...! We'll get you out Little Sister! Somehow...

Cyber: Oh boy...

Timber: Yeah, we gotta think of some way to get her out of there without triggering anything... :/c

Cyber: Quantum Analysis!

Dasher: Oh! Kinda forgot you could do that! (A visor appears in front of Cyber’s face, observing and analyzing the area)

(He gathers the data) Cyber: Oh boy... Timber: What? Cyber: There’s a solution but...there’s a VERY small window for error... Scarlet: How small? Cyber: Microscopic Atlantic: So...If we mess up ONE little thing- Cyber: Kirsty won’t make it...

Scarlet: Ooooooh... O_O

(Everyone looks uneasily at the set up)

Timber: So if we want Kirsty alive...we gotta do this PERFECTLY. No mess-ups, no mistakes.

Cyber: Yes...okay, I think I got this...this should work...

Timber: So what's the plan, Peach?

(Cyber directs everyone to their proper positions)

Dasher: Alright, let’s do this!

(They execute the plan, and the trinity slowly make their way to Kirsty, but at the very end, right when Jade is seconds from disarming the guillotine...) Tiger: *opens the door* Guys!! You down here! (Everyone jumps and Jade knocks into one of the wires holding up the blade and it breaks, the blade falling towards Kirsty's neck)

Atlantic: OH FUCK!!

(Everyone screams in horror) Scarlet: NOOOOOOOOO!!! (Scarlet leaps up right between Kirsty and the blade and stops it between his hands, milimeters from his own face)

Dasher: Holy shit! O_O

(Cyber just about collapses to his knees from shock) Timber: DAMN kid!! Good reflexes!!

Scarlet: Erk...thanks...!

(Jade quickly jumps down and removes the blade and pulls Kirsty out while Scarlet collapses in relief)

Scarlet: Thank god...!

(Jade unties Kirsty who clings to him tightly)

Jade: You're safe now, little sister...thank god we saved you...

Kirsty: Y-Yeah...

(Kirsty keeps clinging onto Jade tightly)

Cyber: My god...that tiny window for failure shouldn't have been possible to fix...but Scarlet did it...!

Timber: Yeah, holy damn...! O_O

Scarlet: Never again...

Atlantic: Yeah...that was too close...

Dasher: Let's just get out of here, get the akuma and restore the damage before we all die of heart attacks...

Cyber: Y-Yeah...let's go...

(Jade carries Kirsty and they leap over the explosives to the stairs and they all hurry out of the basement)

(They run down the hall and towards the main office)

(They burst into the room, hearts still pounding from what happened) Leo: Whoa, you okay? Cyber: Yes, just...had a very close call...but we're okay... (He steps aside, revealing Jade carrying Kirsty)

Jade: And...she's okay...thank god...

Jane: KIRSTY!!! (She runs up and takes her from Jade)

(Jane hugs Kirsty tightly)

(Jane peppers her with kisses) Jane: Oh my god, Kirsty...!!

Kirsty: Janey...!!

Jane: God I was so scared...

Kirsty: Me too...!

(Owl sighs in relief and yanks the akuma off)

(He crushes the Akuma and a black bird flies out)

(Cyber purifies it) Owl: Time to end this nightmare. Cyber: *nods* Restore the Damage!

(A ring of electricity flies out and restores all the damage)

(Everything is fixed and everyone is returned home) Hound: Oh thank god...

Coral: Let's get out of here, these late night akumas always fuck up by beauty sleep schedule...

Owl: Yes, but... *looks at the injuries that were given to the soldiers earlier* We're all pretty beaten up from those soldiers...

Tiger: Nothing a few bandages can't fix, no need to spend the night in a stiff hospital bed Pacific: Yeah; can everyone still walk in a straight line?

(Everyone raises their hand, however Cyber glares at Pacific, gesturing the deep cut wound on his arm)

Pacific: Okay yeah, but you can still walk with that. Tiger: More like we know your hubby's gonna carry you everywhere >;3

(Before Cyber could say anything, Timber immediately scoops him up and carries him in his arms) Timber: You red my mind! XD

Cyber: God why... Tiger: Dude, you're married and love dovey now, no need to be embarrassed

Timber: Yeah, come on Peach, you know that by now! XD

Owl: *picks up Jane and Kirsty* I'll escort these two home; I imagine Kirsty doesn't want to be alone tonight. (Kirsty frantically shakes her head and keeps clinging to Jane)

Jane: Of course not...

Timber: *to Cyber* Think you can teach me how to make a good arm cast? ;)

Cyber: ...Sure...

Leo: That's probably a good call, if people hurt each other during this, hospitals are gonna be SUPER crowded

Hound: Yeah and no room for us! XS

Good day everyone~! This week’s Comic Tea Party is now officially beginning~! Today we are discussing Obelisk by Ashley McCammon~! (http://www.obeliskcomic.com/) For those new or in need of a reminder, discussions about the comic are freeform, so please feel free to bring up whatever you wish. However, every 30 minutes I will be dropping in a discussion question to help those who would like a prompt. These questions are totally OPTIONAL to answer, and you can pay them no mind if you wish. QUESTION 1. What is your favorite scene in the comic so far and why?

The story has flowed so smoothly so far that it'd be hard for me to pick a certain scene as a favorite. I've really enjoyed the fluidity of the art, with it's beautiful backgrounds and very human seeming characters. Evie has been quite interesting to get to know so far and I'm looking forward to learning more about her as the story goes on.

Her hair has been particularly fascinating to me, I adore how it's drawn.

i appreciate how shes been drawn with a variety of hair styles and clothing. its one of those unnecessary details that can add a lot of life and make everything feel less like a video game.

but man the backgrounds. those are some heavily detailed backgrounds with a lot of love and care put into them and they really express the world so well

if i had to pick a favorite scene id pick when we meet margot. i really like the slight additions of red because something about the wispy way its drawn expressives a hint of...something sinister

I love the whole comic so far but I gotta say the way the party scene was drawn is so memorable for me, the panel variation is so creatively done and makes each page feel so energetic

I liked the scene where Eve was partly hung over and came into the kitchen and her brother regaled her with all the info off a casual remark. I think part of what made that stick too was realizing in the post-script how it was based on REAL history.

Yeah, I have no idea how much research was put into fashions and trends of the time period, but I have to imagine a ton.

I really liked Agostino’s reaction to Margot, it’s so foreboding. I most definitely feel we’ll be seeing all the characters that have introduced so far, again. I must say the story so far has so seamlessly and entertainingly set up many relationships, varied characters, and intrigue to delve into that it’s exciting waiting for what comes next!

QUESTION 4. As we learn from Eve, some documents on her father’s properties seem to be missing. Further, he seemed to know possible criminal Peter Murphy and mysterious Margot. Why and how do you think Eve’s father got involved with such people? Was it blackmail, some sort of under the table charity, or something else? Do you think his co-worker Alex knew about the dealings, or was it something private to Eve’s father? If it’s the latter, why do you believe he’d keep it a secret? Do you think Margot’s shop is the only missing property, or do you suspect Eve might find even more? Even if Eve finds the answers to all these questions, do you think she can or would do anything about the situation? Lastly, do these missing properties have anything to do with her father being dead?

honestly i love hearing ur headcanons and tidbits about champion alan and how he goes about his duties with the other champs n stuff. since he's such a reserved guy how do you reckon he bonds with the other champions when they're all together doing work n stuff? like he already is on good terms with steven and ash, yes, but what about the others. i like trying to imagine these dynamics dont mind me

I, too, love imagining these dynamics, so I will absolutely mind you in the sense that I will happily engage in this discussion, thank you for asking. :D

Anyway, as you said, Alan is already on good terms with Ash and Steven from the get-go, even before he becomes Champion. Honestly, Ash is probably his best human friend; I know some people might want to protest about Manon, but Manon is his little sister, not his best friend—there’s a difference in the type of relationship dynamic there. The bond between Alan and Ash was pretty much immediate from the time they met, and Ash is the only human whose company we’ve seen Alan seek out just because he knew that spending time (and battling) with Ash would make him happy (and it did, to the point where Manon herself thinks “I’ve never seen Alan smile like that” when she sees how he smiles at Ash during their battle, and to the point where Alan thanks Ash three separate times during that battle for letting him feel such happiness). With that being the case, I feel confident in saying that Ash is his best human friend.

With that said, yeah, Alan is closest to Ash out of all the other Champions, and probably closest to Steven after that. As such, whenever it comes to fun (but important!) partnerships and things that happen between the regions, Alan usually partners with one of them first. For instance, in that Champion Messenger post, Alan brings up a tournament agreement to Steven. That tournament is a tournament that is going to be held between Kalos and Hoenn, League-style. It’s not an official League—the winners don’t get Champion challenges—but anyone can participate so long as they qualify for at least one of the regional Leagues, and the tournament ends in a double battle against Steven and Alan both. (RIP to whoever faces them, tbh.) The idea is to foster more unity between Kalos and Hoenn, and the other Champions are carrying it out between their regions as well. Ash and Iris are doing one for Kanto and Unova, Hau and Casey are doing one for Alola and Johto, and so on and so forth. (The next ones will be Steven and Cynthia for Hoenn and Sinnoh, Ash and Alan for Kanto and Kalos, Casey and Iris for Johto and Unova, and on like that until all the regions team up at some point.) 

But even though that’s the case, he’s still on good terms with all the others! Part of it might be due to the fact that Ash already knew everyone else and thus could introduce Alan if necessary, and part of it might also be due to any big international meetings between the Champions (and one of their most trusted Elite) that take place. However, I think those meetings are probably rarer; they typically only need all of them to come together in the event of an international crisis, which I would hope wouldn’t happen too frequently. (Though I have a story idea for one that does, but that’s another story for another time. ;D) So what really helps, I think, is that Champion Messenger that Steven develops so that they all have a fast and (most importantly) secure way to communicate in case they need to. It is supposed to be for work; the idea is that it’s a private messenger that only they (not even their Elite!) know about and have access to, which means that it’s a much, much more secure method than e-mail or phone calls to pass information between them. Additionally, it’s instant and accessible via whatever mobile device they have, which means that they don’t have to worry about massive time delays, either. So it honestly was developed for responsible, serious reasons, and it was supposed to be for work … but, as that post shows, a lot of shenanigans happen as well. And the thing is, when you’re in a messenger room with six other people, it’s rather easy to get to know and bond with them in a way that doesn’t infringe on your own personal comfort or boundaries or anything like that. Provided it’s just shenanigans, Alan can always just sign out of the messenger for a while and go do something else if he wants. It’s perfect for an introvert like him. So with that in mind, even setting aside official business, the messenger has really helped foster his relationships with the rest of the Champions as well. I like to imagine that they really are a #squad.

So with that said, a bit more in-depth?

Ash: 

As I said, Ash is Alan’s best human friend. He’s someone that we’ve seen in canon that Alan feels comfortable confiding in, someone he feels comfortable relying on, someone who has helped Alan in the darkest times in his life. And you can trust me when I say that this bond does not diminish as they grow older. Rather, it grows stronger. Not only are Alan and Ash always more than ready to help each other out, team up, and rely on each other in times of crisis, but they enjoy spending time with and talking to each other as well. I like to think that they began exchanging letters pretty regularly after Ash left Kalos to return to Kanto (and then went on to Unova), and once Ash finally upgrades his life and gets a mobile device, they exchange numbers to keep in touch through calls and text messages as well (and of course the Champion Messenger, but that has everyone in it). They do eventually cash in on their promise to battle again someday years later at the Charicific Valley, but Ash immediately makes Alan promise to battle him again at a later date. (Alan’s doing much better by that point, and Ash can tell, and that’s why he allowed the battle to happen—but still. Better safe than sorry.) 

There’s not too much more to say here that isn’t immediately obvious, but the last thing I’ll add is that while it’s obvious that Ash is Alan’s best human friend, rest assured that Alan is one of Ash’s best human friends as well. I mean, to be honest, Ash has about six thousand people he’d call his best friend (well, not that many, but it’s a lot considering all the traveling companions and now classmates he has had in his life), but the special bond they have is definitely felt on Ash’s side as well. (I imagine that Alan meets Gary at some point and the two hit it off, and this makes Ash feel some kind of way, because even though his relationship with Gary improves drastically over the course of the OS, as we see in DP he can still get rather fired up over Gary sometimes, because old rivalries die hard. He starts feeling jealous over Alan because of a bit of insecurity he has over the fact that Alan and Gary can talk about scientific research things / bond over growing up homes that are half house, half lab, and that’s not a thing he can really share with Alan, and … well. Just trust me when I say that this best friendship goes both ways. They’re both immensely important to each other.)

Casey:

Casey is probably the fellow Champion that … well, one of the fellow Champions that Alan has the weakest bond with (there are two), simply because they don’t have very much in common. He likes Casey all right; their personalities aren’t incompatible or anything, particularly since there are times when Casey reminds him of both Ash and Manon are equal measure. But their interests are at very opposite ends of the scale, generally. Casey’s primary interest outside of battling is baseball (and specifically the Electabuzz team), and Alan just … doesn’t care about baseball, honestly, haha. He has pretty much no interest in that whatsoever. Casey doesn’t see how this is possible—how could someone not realize how amazing baseball (and especially the Electabuzz, despite how Ash’s horrible (in Casey’s opinion) taste in teams makes him blaspheme and say otherwise) is?! But Alan’s just not very interested, and likewise Casey doesn’t tend to be very interested in the books or research that captures Alan’s interest. As such, they don’t often have too many shared interests to talk about, even though they still get along well enough in the Messenger / when they’re working on official business.

All of that said, for her birthday one year Alan gives her Beedrillite so that she can mega evolve her beedrill. To say that she’s thrilled is an understatement.

Steven:

Like with Ash, we already know a lot about Alan’s relationship with Steven. To be honest, the two bicker-banter back and forth at least half the time, given how snarky and sassy they can both be—but it’s all in good humor, never serious. It’s just how they communicate / have fun with each other. Their relationship, as we know, was forged in the midst of TSME, when Steven witnessed firsthand what Lysandre was doing to Alan and then almost immediately tattled on Lysandre to Alan’s father. We see throughout TSME just how much Steven cares about him (and how gleeful he is to enact vengeance for him once the Flare arc hits—Steven went to the Fleur-De-Lis labs to attack people and he had such a good time), and that is part of what motivates Steven to encourage Alan to take the Champion challenge in the first place (despite how Steven truly likes Diantha a whole lot as well—they become good friends in my headcanon, #fashion buddies). I say “part” because Steven does earnestly believe everything he says. He genuinely believes that Alan would be an excellent Champion. But he also cares about Alan and wants him to do well and be okay, and in the Champion Messenger post I made, his little press of “just fine?” was actually his way of checking on Alan, versus continuing to rib him as he had before (“Not now, we’re discussing the merits of malasada cannibalism”). There’s a lot of care under all the teasing, just as Alan truly does care about and appreciate Steven under all the snark he tosses right back.

(That said, they do sometimes have escalating prank wars, which are usually instigated by Steven, and most often by Alan being teased about the big ol’ crush Steven has on Sycamore. Like, Steven is in a happy monogamous relationship with Wallace, and he knows that Sycamore is with Meyer, and so obviously it’s not going anywhere, but I felt some chemistry between them in the anime, and in my brain that translated into Steven thinking Sycamore is damn fine. So Steven will see fit to troll Alan about this sometimes, by asking him if Sycamore is single yet or mentioning about how Sycamore is a DILF (and how he wouldn’t mind being Alan’s stepdad, it’s not like they can’t both still work together as Champions et cetera), and of course Alan isn’t going to just take that lying down, so he finds some other way to strike back at him. Like, for instance, playing a game of telephone with Manon and her friends, which ends in Manon presenting Steven with a nice stone as a going-away present, at which point she announces to the entire airport that it’s because she heard about how much pleasure his rock fetish brings him and though that he’d be even more pleased than usual if he had a new rock for his fetish. This happens when Manon is still ten, and so honestly she has no idea what a fetish is, particularly since she heard about this from Bonnie, who heard about it from Serena, who heard about it from Shauna, who heard about it from Tierno and Trevor, who heard about it from Ash, who came up with the interpretation that “fetish” is just “cool thing I like a lot” because although he heard about this from Alan, Alan didn’t explain to him what that word meant. So then Steven has to stand there, kind of mortified, with Diantha, Sycamore, Bonnie, Manon, and a smirking Alan all watching him, and all he knows is that even though Manon says that she and Bonnie came up with the idea (and that Bonnie says it was Serena and Shauna that helped them), Alan has to be behind this somehow and Steven will get him back.

So sometimes they have escalating prank wars like that. It’s all in good fun, though. ;) )

Cynthia:

Once Alan and Cynthia hit it off, they end up getting along very well. To begin with, Cynthia kind of has a Cool Big Sis thing going on; she’s a very, sincerely nice person who cares about those around her, and likes to guide and offer advice to those around her when the situation arises. This is particularly true with those she can see a bit of herself in, and I think she would with Alan. In the anime, Cynthia mentions at one point that she always aimed to be the strongest when she was younger, and in the games, Cynthia’s entire team has perfect IVs and significant EV training. Cynthia takes training quite seriously and loves battling, and these are two things that she absolutely has in common with Alan. So I think that Cynthia would pick up on that, and would be interested and talking more with him, particularly when she learns that he was raised by Professor Sycamore and is a scholar like her …

… and that’s when they’d hit it off, because they’re both massive nerds. 

While Alan’s research into mega evolution tends to seem more scientific, it’s important to remember that his search for Key Stones and Mega Stones took him to a ton of ruins, and that he and Sycamore also spend a lot of time poring over ancient tablets and examining ancient scripts, et cetera. Meanwhile, Cynthia’s secondary job is as a researcher / archaeologist / myth/legend hunter. She, too, spends so much time spelunking in ruins, going over ancient texts, writing books about the various myths and legends about the world. There’s no way their research wouldn’t overlap at times, to the point where I’m sure there have been multiple times in the Champion Messenger where one of them brings up a new discovery and the two of them end up dominating the messenger nerding out about it until someone complains. So really, they have a ton in common and have a good relationship. They’re both Cool Older Sibling types to those around them (Cool Big Bro, Cool Big Sis), they’re both nerds with similar nerdy interests, and they both love battling and take training very seriously. The only additional thing to note about their dynamic is that Cynthia is decently older than Alan (I’d say she’s in her mid-to-late 20s), so she ends up being like a Cool Big Sis to him, at least from time to time. It’s a good relationship.

Iris:

Iris and Alan also get along pretty well! While Iris can be pretty energetic sometimes, she can also be pretty savvy and knows when to tone it down a notch (I mean, remember, she was the one always teasing Cilan about being a pain because of how Extra™ he is), so I don’t think that would cause many problems. Aside from that, once again, I think that Iris and Alan would find some pretty good common ground between them. They both love and have an affinity for dragons (Iris’ face when Alan tells her that charizard, in addition to being a dragon by species, can be a dragon-type when it mega evolves into its X form, after the brief Discourse™ she had with Ash about that very typing in BW); they were both orphaned at a young age and originally come from a far out village in the woods (though Iris’ time in the Dragon Village was far better than Alan’s time in Isolé); they’re both happily adopted, even if unofficially for a time (or at least Iris is in the games—I think Drayden also looks after her to an extent in the anime?); they both have a tendency to be rather blunt and honest (even if Iris actually voices her thoughts more than Alan does); they’ve both had difficulties socializing in the past (though they’re getting better!), and so on and so forth. (They’re also both unjustly despised by the vast majority of the fandom, but hEY …)

 I actually like to imagine that these two meet prior to either of them becoming Champions of their respective regions, and I really want to write this fic at some point. My thought is, well, the PokéAni writers denied Iris her cameo in Kalos, so what if I write one for her post-series? I’m still deciding on things, but my basic idea is that she ends up traveling to Kalos after her time in Hoenn, and runs into Alan in Lumiose City. They get to talking for some reason or another—it’s possible that Iris sees Lizardon and gets super excited over how cute he is (and let’s be honest, he’s adorable), or maybe Alan is out with both Lizardon and Gabrielle and, well, Iris can’t resist saying hi to even one dragon, much less two. So they get to talking, Alan tells Iris about how charizard can be dragon-types whey they mega evolve with Charizardite X (and Iris is all, “ooh, that kid! I should have known he didn’t have all the facts!!” though she means it all in good fun—she’s still going to write Ash a letter in short order to give him a teasing what-for, though), and it’s a good time.

But then some conflict happens (as it always does in these specials), and these two have to solve it together. At some point Alan offers to give her a ride on Lizardon, but Iris is just like, “Nah, I’ve got this” and calls out her dragonite, which Alan is quite impressed by, and they go and kick ass together, and that’s a good time, too.

By the end of it, Alan has seen that Iris has a bagon, because she caught a shelgon while in Hoenn (because remember, she went there chasing Rayquaza—and when Iris goes on about how she chased Rayquaza there, but yet lost track of it and thus missed the huge event that happened off Rustboro Bay and she’s super disappointed about it, Alan gets real quiet and his eyes go distant and she wonders at what’s wrong, but he won’t tell her … only for her to remember later that waIT, HE WAS THAT GUY ON TV, WASN’T HE?? and that’s a whole thing). Back at the lab he has used the machine Sycamore has to deduce that one of the Mega Stones he has is Salamencite, and so he gives that to her, and their bond is forged #forever.

(And honestly, I really waffled over this, because Mega Salamence is Zinnia’s signature ‘mon, and I really do not like to double-up on signatures like that. However, Iris has to have a dragon to mega evolve, she has a salamence as Champion in the games, and while she does have a gible in the anime, Mega Garchomp is already shared between Sycamore and Cynthia. Garchomp needs a rest, we don’t need another Mega Garchomp. That said, I did debate on giving Iris Mega Altaria, but aside from that also doubling up in my mind (with an OC, but still), I feel that salamence fits her better, especially since she has one in the games. So Mega Salamence will be shared between Iris and Zinnia, and no one else, just as Sycamore and Cynthia are the only two with Mega Garchomp. It is Law™.)

But while that’s their first meeting, of course they get along really well as Champions, too. There’s also the possibility that Iris could end up dating Manon at some point, so hey—maybe Iris eventually becomes Alan’s sister-in-law. It could happen.

Hau:

Hau is the other Champion (along with Casey as mentioned before) that Alan has the weakest relationship with, although they do still get along all right. Just like with Casey, Alan doesn’t have very much in common with Hau. Their attitudes toward training are markedly different (Hau is skilled enough to be Champion, but even then, a lot of the muscle work is left to Elite Four member Gladion, to be entirely honest, due to how lackadasical Hau can be about training), and they don’t have a lot of shared interests in common. So while they can get along well enough in conversation, if it’s just the two of them the conversation is going to die off into silence pretty quickly. And that’s fine by Alan, he doesn’t mind silence, but it tends to make Hau feel a bit awkward, particularly since Alan is really hard to read for him. (A problem that neither Ash nor Iris experience, since Ash has been able to see straight through to Alan’s heart from day one, and, well … Iris is the girl who knows the hearts of dragons, so. ;D) That said, again, their relationship is far from bad, especially when Hau wants to make sure that Alan doesn’t dislike him and so he makes him sweet malasadas as a “peace offering” (Gladion thinks that Hau should not waste his time baking anything for Alan, because even if To Devour the Sun isn’t canon in the prime universe I still cannot fucking help but imagining Alan’s and Gladion’s relationship as it is in that fic, which means that Gladion is always tsuntsun toward Alan in the extreme), and Alan, given his massive sweet tooth, appreciates this immensely even though it really wasn’t necessary to begin with. So there is that, at least, even if the two still aren’t very close.

(I do imagine that a conversation like this happens in the messenger at one point, though:

HAU: “btw alan gladion told me to tell u to tell manon to stop hitting on lillie”

CASEY: “don’t U want manon to stop hitting on lillie? aren’t u 2 dating or engaged or smth?”

HAU: “ya but i dont mind, lillie-bean would never cheat on me lol”

IRIS: “‘Lillie-bean’???”

ALAN: “Tell Gladion he can tell Manon himself. I’m not involved.”

CASEY: “omfg”

ALAN: “She doesn’t listen when I tell her not to do things anyway, so it isn’t like it’d do any good.”

HAU: “ok will do lol”

IRIS: “u gave up easily”

HAU: “like i said, i dont care either way”

HAU: “besides, alan is going to be the one getting all the angry messages from gladion lol so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯”

CASEY: “srsly????”

ALAN: “Yeah. I’m used to it by now. I have a filter on his messages anyway, so I don’t even see them until I specifically go check, whenever I remember to.”

HAU: “LOL”

Note: Gladion does not know about the messenger, but he finds out that Hau is contact with Alan in some way (he figures e-mail) and that’s when / why he tells Hau to pass the message along.)

General:

As a few more notes about dynamics and interactions and such:

Alan, Ash, and Iris all end up going to that tournament in Oblivia that Ash mentioned in the Champion Messenger post together. Originally Hau was going to go with them, but something came up and he couldn’t. Regardless, Alan, Ash, and Iris all travel there together and have a fantastic time. In general, whenever the three travel / do something together, it’s generally a really good time. The fact that they’re all such good friends and get along so well certainly helps.

Alan has invited Cynthia to the lab in order to go over research things. Despite the fact that Alan is an older teenager, Cynthia is an adult, and they were going over ancient stone tablets and other research, this still (from an outsider’s perspective) does end up looking very much like a playdate. Sycamore joins them, and really it’s just a nice day / night of nerdy fun.

They also go spelunking in ancient ruins together sometimes.

Steven, on Diantha’s request, was the one who picked out what Alan wore to his Champion inauguration / induction ceremony. There is going to be a short fic about this.

I just realized that Hau and Alan do have something sort of in common, which is baking. Alan picks up baking as a hobby after the Flare arc, and at the very least Hau likes to bake malasadas. So on top of Hau baking Alan sweet malasadas, Hau ends up giving Alan the recipe and they can bond a little over that.

Alan does end up giving Ash a Key Stone and Charizardite Y (oh, and he obviously gave Key Stones to Casey and Iris as well). He’s just hooking everyone up with mega evolution, what a good mega evolutionist he is.

Alan likes to share pictures of Lizardon in the messenger. Iris loves this (CUTE DRAGON♥), and sometimes she’ll share pictures of her haxorus. So then Alan will show a picture of Lizardon and Gabrielle together, and Iris will share a picture of some of her other dragons, and they end up embarking on a Dragon Spam™ that only meets a combo breaker when Ash inserts a picture of Pikachu in the middle of it all.

Sometimes Alan asks Casey about the various ruins and such around Johto, but she honestly doesn’t know because history doesn’t interest her, and while he is disappointed at that, she’s disappointed that he doesn’t see what’s so great about the brand new baseball stadium that the Electabuzz got after they finally won a World Series—ALAN: “Why is it called the World Series if teams from Kanto and Johto are the only ones participating?”ASH: “ya ive always wondered that 2 lol”CASEY: “bc baseball is tHE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN THE WORLD”ASH: “not more important than catching pkmn :/”CASEY: “WAT IS WRONG W/ U 2?!?!?!”

Sometimes they all get together to have friendly battles (something Cynthia actually references in one of the games). They usually also turn these informal little tournaments into potlucks and it’s a good time (and yeah, their Elite—or at least certain members of their Elite—are of course invited).

You see my icon? So at one point that was Alan’s pic in the Champion Messenger, and Ash had a matching one where he, too, was wearing sunglasses. (The pictures might have even been taken on the same day, tbh—like maybe they were together when that happened.) Hau and Casey saw these pics, though they looked awesome, and took sunglasses selfies themselves to join in. Iris (good-naturedly!) teased a bit about this at first, but then joined in herself after some cajoling from Ash and Hau. Cynthia thought it all looked like good fun and so she joined in as well, and that just left Steven, who was convinced to join so he wouldn’t be the only one left out. And that was how they all ended up wearing sunglasses in their pics in the Champion Messenger for a time. Shenanigans. 

After Ash finally gets his growth spurt, he and Alan end up pretty close in height. This does lead to them swapping clothes (or at least Ash borrowing Alan’s clothes) as a battle strategy in the midst of a crisis at least once. (Because if Ash is wearing Alan’s clothes, and he’s flying on his charizard, then with his dark hair, who could tell the difference between them from way down on the ground? No one, that’s who. The enemy would be completely bamboozled.) 

But yeah, really, I just imagine them as a real #squad. They’re all good friends with each other (even if some bonds aren’t as strong as others), they’ve got each other’s backs, et cetera. They’re a real solid squad and even if the messenger is often filled with shenanigans, it does come in handy for serious business stuff as well.
