Another book rec from my American Studies class! this one comes to you from Tiya Miles: Tales from the Haunted South: Dark Tourism and Memories of Slavery from the Civil War Era
Miles uses archival research, memoirs of haunted places, Works Progress Administration interviews, and her own collected experiences attending ghost tours of haunted places in Georgia and Louisiana as primary sources for her book. Her writing is engaging, accessible, and personal, referencing important ghosty theory without overwhelming the reader with unfamiliar terms. In her own words:
In the story of my journey that follows, I explore how slave ghost tales function in southern tourism and why portrayals of enslaved black specters have been on the rise. I consider what these phantoms signal about memories of slavery in contemporary American culture and what the evocation of ghostly memory might tell us about the realities of historical slavery and gender relations. And I hope to channel the collective experience of those ancestor-spirits who lived through enslavement, both to defend their worthy honor and to salvage our own.

hiya sorry if this is not the right place for this but I feel like this is the hub of info for Omar on Tumblr! So I thought this might be interesting to you or to your followers if you decided to post it.
Idk if this is helpful but I’ve seen some questions about the business of music marketing for Omar and I thought I’d put together some information on what has gone on so far
Things that Omar’s label has done to promo Every Night Fantasy:
Social media Featuring. Featuring is getting the artist mentioned on not-owned channels. There’s two types, paid and unpaid. Paid is when the label pays directly to be placed on a channel. That’s most probably the reason for Omar being mentioned on the MTV Twitter. It’s tough to tell, on purpose, what is paid or just coordinated. We know it’s at least coordinated because of the time of posting and the pictures. Labels work closely with these bigger accounts to get the timing right
Publication mentioning. This is a type of featuring. But when Omar is mentioned and especially if there’s a picture of him, this was coordinated and supported (and possibly paid for) by the marketing team. Getting a picture is a big coup because often these articles list many artists and only post a certain number of pictures. The team will often go to a publication and be like hey you should feature our guy, I promise it’ll get you clicks and organic engagement, here we made it easy this is a blurb and an angle for your article and some good pictures. Or they’ll be like, we know you put out a monthly article featuring artists, our guy fits your editorial standards, here’s some details
Creating a press kit. The press kit includes the preferred photos to use in different sizes that are cleared for use and general information about the artist. They’re keeping this up to date, like with the Rockbjornen pictures. Remember that to post a pic they need consent/licensing from the photog
Spotify (playlists): getting Omar as cover pic on a playlist. Getting Omar onto playlists. Spotify says they don’t take money for this but what they do for sure is that labels meet/put their music in front of various editorial teams at Spotify and make sure they have access to the tracks. The label puts forward candidates they think are the strongest for specific areas. Not all playlists are juiced by corporate but it is a thing that happens
Spotify free premium. Spotify giving out a trial of premium to top streamers of Sabotage. That’s all label money
The release schedule. Now we can argue if this is actually effective, but it is standard. Holding Red Light and then releasing a single a month to allow each to trend, announcing a tour, then releasing the EP right before the tour begins. And I mean like! There’s a tour! That costs money, that money came from the same place. Also, there’s a reason they don’t post much ahead of the release, which is that the algorithm punishes topics that get steady discussion and rewards topics that suddenly spike. So getting everyone to post all at once right before the song comes out is ideal
In general, the big thing that they’re doing is coordination. When articles/posts come out on the same day, or same week there was someone with a hugeass gantt chart figuring that out. Omar’s singles have been timed to release close to Spotify weekly playlist refreshes, MTV tweets about Sabotage the same day, a few days later an article comes out with a quote from Omar (if you see an Omar quote then the press went through his people).
Also just something to keep in mind, the campaign does have to pay itself back, so the team will focus on what they think will get them the biggest conversion.
Thank you for putting this together.💜 I’m still not sure about that Spotify premium trial, because I have seen these tweets on my tl and they are suggesting that it was a fan project.

The point of sn is that it's a recovery server, its main point is resource and experience sharing, which means it focuses heavily on the therapeutic and medical side of the disorder, navigating therapy as a CDD system, shame as a CDD system, links to free books and articles (my library is massive now) etc
Many of the members are in additional servers that are explicitly pro endogenic, and it's talked about a LOT. At least half the active members (a conservative estimate) and mods talk about being in these servers for other aspects of their experience, but they don't receive the same kind of advice and resources in those spaces. They heavily lack accurate medical information and many don't encourage discussions about the disordered aspects of DDs.
I really wish you'd give up on this, the server REALLY isn't what you think it is, and you were never that big of a deal until you started posting constantly about the server with claims that just... really weren't accurate or truthful. And you're still going, months later.
It's stressful and paranoia inducing. You're hurting people.
It's just a space that focuses on navigating the medical aspects of being disordered, and yes, there are a good number of mixed origin systems in there, and dedicated spaces to discussing spirituality in relation to systemhood (dedicated because many members have religious trauma and/or are prone to delusional thinking when exposed randomly and unexpectedly to religious information), among other things.
The server is only "anti endo" in that endogenic systems that want to argue the trauma basis of DID aren't welcome, because that's the point of the server. Trauma. And we struggle enough, we don't want to argue in our safe space about our disorder and trauma.
Because it's not a syscourse server.
Stop trying to hurt innocent people just looking for a specific type of space to discuss specific things.
Please.
That's cool that they had spaces for discussing spirituality. I'm sorry if my post spread misinformation.
I do want to stress again though that this particular post was not an attack on the Survivor's Network as a whole.
My issue here is with certain individuals who come out of that space with a skewed idea of what syscourse is because of that space.
And this is still true whether the mixed origin systems are completely absent from the server, or simply sequestered away from the syscourse channel. The fact is that you have people who have been hanging out largely in a "syscourse" environment with no endogenic systems, and where spiritual matters aren't allowed to be discussed. Do you feel that's a fair assessment of the syscourse channel?
Do you agree that this might contribute to people's skewed perception of syscourse when they come back to Tumblr, and speak wistfully of how they want syscourse here to be more like it is in the server's syscourse channel?
I really wish you'd give up on this, the server REALLY isn't what you think it is
I mean, what I think is that it's a recovery space that helps a lot of people with CDDs...
That happens to have a mod team made up of people who have repeatedly attacked me personally over the course of two years, and who addressed the server's admin's fakeclaiming and misgendering of me (paired with transphobic accusations of fetishism) by creating a 20 point list of things I said last November to explain why I actually deserved it.
A list, by the way, that was filled with lies and misrepresentations about my own words and makes it really hard to take any of their statements about other events in the server at face value.
Because if the mods are going to lie and mislead people about what I said in public, I have no reason to trust that what they're saying happens in spaces that I can't see are true.
It's a he said/she said with disgruntled members of the server vs mods caught lying in the very document that's intended to set the record straight.
I should also make it clear that a lot of my issues with the server are not with every member. I realize that it's a diverse group of over 200 members.
But the admin and the mod team who compiled that document have established themselves as liars and snakes, and I do not trust them or their descriptions of these events in the slightest.
This is really veering way off course...
The original point is this:
There is a group of syscoursers who have a very watered-down idea of what syscourse could and should be, in part because of occupying a space where endogenic system weren't present and talk of spirituality was, if present in the server, was at least sequestered away from syscourse discussions.
These people who may claim to be pro-endo or endo neutral expect everyone to get along because that works in their private bubbles.
They expect syscourse with endogenic systems to be the same as it is in those bubbles where syscourse stance isn't relevant, and try to paint it as a "both sides" issue when endogenic systems aren't tolerant towards anti-endos.

Hey Mom: How Do I Get Ready For Prom?
Where Can I Get A Prom Dress?
Prom dresses are everywhere it seems: from bridal shops, to second hand clothing stores. If you are looking to wear a dress to prom, you have a few options: you can thrift a dress, buy one new, rent a dress, or even make one yourself!
If you're looking to buy one new, oftentimes you can find them at bridal salons. Go with some friends or a trusted adult and try on some gowns! The prices for these dresses might be a bit high, and if you're paying for it yourself, you might want to see if the store has the option to use a payment plan. This will allow you to pay off your dress in increments.
Some stores also allow for renting prom dresses, which is a lot cheaper. Maybe look around and see which stores allow for renting. This means you are allowed to take the dress, but you have to return it by a certain date, kind of like a library book!
If you're looking to make your own dress, head on down to your local sewing/craft shop, like JoAnns or Michaels, and see what patterns they have. My local JoAnns has a large filing cabinet filled with both old and new Simplicity patterns, so you never know what you'll find. Pick out a nice fabric (or two) and the supplies you will need to bring your creation together. I'd also suggest getting a sewing dummy, to make things easier.
With dresses, there are many different silhouettes to choose from, all of which look very different on different body types. Here's a good chart to get a feel for what kind of dress you might want to look for depending on your body type. I found this on my Pinterest ages ago, and I keep it saved for sewing projects. However, feel free to wear whatever you feel you look good in!

Makeup
Now, there are two avenues which can be used to do prom makeup: either you can get it done professionally, or do it yourself. If you choose the professional route, you're going to want to call months in advance to see if they can squeeze you in. If you're out of luck, you'll want to learn how to do it yourself.
There are so many makeup tutorials on Youtube that can help you with this dilemma, so feel free to check those out. I will be updating this post when I am finally able to do my own makeup tutorial. But for now, I can give some simple pointers: use a good primer on your face before you do anything, make sure that your concealer and foundation match your skintone (your concealer should be 1-2 shades lighter), make sure the eyeshadow you use is either a nude (skin) tone, or the color of your suit/dress, and a little makeup goes a long way!
Here's a few good tutorials for prom makeup (thank you to all these creators and artists for making videos):

Hair
Prom hair is one of those things where it keeps waxing and waning on whether it should be elaborate or not. Current trends seem to be waning towards a more simple look trend, while back in the 90's and mid 2010s, prom hair was extravagant, wild, and down right intricate. Thankfully, we're not in that era at all anymore, and a lot of looks can be done at home.
However, if you want a professional to do your hair, book an appointment the day of prom with a stylist! Make sure you do so in advance, though. Some hair dressers might allow last minute appointments, but make sure they are able to see you the day of prom.
Nails
For a number of people, pre-prom prep comes with a mani-pedi, in which they get their nails done. In order to get this straightened out, you can either book an appointment with a nail salon, or do them yourself! Here is a lovely article from ELLE Magazine as to what to expect from a nail appointment.
If you don't want to go to the nail salon, or they are booked right now, go to your local beauty store/Walmart/Dollar Store and find a polish the color of your ensemble. If you ensemble has multiple colors, pick one of the complimentary ones included in your dress/tux and go from there. When applying nail polish, only apply 3 swipes of the brush. Anything less might be too sheer, anything beyond that will look gummy or too thick. Set with a nail protective coat and voila! Add some nail gems or a glitter top coat if you're looking to dazzle!
Pre-Prom Activities (Dinner, Limo, etc).
A number of people who go to prom with a group tend to go out to eat beforehand, and/or ride in a limo to prom. If this is your plan, check your local restaurants to see if you can book a reservation for the night of prom, specifically 1-2 hours beforehand depending how far it is from the venue. This will allow for proper travel time after dinner to make it to the party on time!
Limos are a different deal altogether: I'd suggest asking a parent for permission and then going from there. After your wish is okay'd by a guardian, check out where your nearest limo rental company is and give them a ring. The dealership will be able to help from there on out.
If you have a date, you might be expected to buy them a corsage (if you're AMAB) or a boutonniere (if you're AFAB). A corsage is a wristlet that has flowers on it. A boutonniere is a little bundle of flowers that is pinned to the lapel of a suit. You can pre-order these at a local florist, or buy artificial ones at craft stores. If you want to make your own, here's a tutorial on how to do that. Here's a resource on boutonnieres.
And there you have it! Prom can be so fun once all the stress is over with. I hope you have fun at the party, but please come home safely and do not drink and drive. Mom will be waiting up for you with a hot cup of tea, excited to hear about what happened there! Love, Mom.

Metropcs Payments
Metro PCS is a popular prepaid mobile network that offers customers great discounts, especially when it comes to their auto-pay option. With Metro PCS auto pay discount, customers can save money on their monthly plans without having to worry about remembering to make payments each month.
This article will discuss the advantages of signing up for Metro PCS auto pay discount and how it can benefit customers in terms of both saving money and convenience.
Despite the fact that Metro PCS is a prepaid service, there are still several ways to reduce your monthly fee. As we go along, we’ll talk about certain tactics that’ll make using the Metro completely free for you.
BillSmart has saved its customers over $1.5 million by negotiating their phone and cable costs over the previous two years. Also you can know about US auto pay support number as well.
Metro PCS Plans
Metro PCS’s plan names are quite straightforward. They give the monthly costs associated with each plan’s name. There are a variety of options, ranging from $60/month for an unlimited package to $30/month for a more limited one. You’re paying too much for Metro service if the number in your plan’s name is greater than $60.
Metro doesn’t discount your monthly plan price for long-term consumers even if they cut their costs. Many of their clients have been paying $80 or $90 for less functionality than they are getting now for $60.
You should still check Metro PCS’s current offerings to see if your plan is currently being offered at a reduced rate, even if its name is less than $60, even if the name of your plan is less than $60.
For those who feel they are paying too much for their present service, there are three alternatives to consider. They are either engaging in online chat, calling customer service or physically visiting a store to get their plan altered.
Adapt Your Tier Level
Metropcs customers who are interested in saving money should familiarise themselves with the various Metro plan levels to maximise the value of their current service.
Both the $60 and $50 Metro Internet plans have “unlimited” data transfer. There is a limit of 10 or 5 gigabytes per month on your high-speed data usage if you subscribe to the more affordable plans.
Even with an unlimited data plan, Metro still caps your usage at 35 GB per month. If you’re in a congested region and you go over 35gb of data, Metro will begin to throttle your connection.
In order to save money, you might downgrade your plan if you don’t need a lot of data. Before making a switch, you can find out how much you use your current Metro plan by contacting customer assistance.
Decrease MetroPcs Bill
Using a mobile hotspot and having a membership to a streaming service like Amazon Prime or Google One are also notable distinctions. Some Metro plans, especially the more expensive ones, include access to Wi-Fi hotspots. A mobile hotspot can cost up to $30 per month, but if you don’t use it or aren’t sure what it is, you can save money by switching to a more suitable plan.
Metro also offers free memberships, but we’ve found that few people take advantage of them. For starters, there’s a Google One account with 100 GB of storage space. Similar to Dropbox, Google One allows Android users to store and access their files on the go. The iPhone user cannot benefit from Google One.
Free membership to Amazon Prime is another perk. You can save $10–$20 per line by switching to a more affordable plan if you don’t make frequent Amazon purchases or already have Prime.
Reduce or Eliminate Your Metro PCS Bill
If you are eligible for the Affordable Connectivity Program, Metro will not charge you for your monthly service fee (ACP). If you qualify for the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) ACP programme, the state of Washington will pay $30 toward your monthly phone or cable payment.
Income level, participation in government aid programmes like SNAP, and/or eligibility through a child’s school all play a role in determining eligibility (if they get free school lunches).
Emergency Broadband Benefit Program
For a while, that subsidy was $50 per month. The ACP has brought this down to $30, but the programme itself will continue indefinitely. Those who have participated in EBB will have their membership in ACP upgraded automatically.
Metro openly advertises that customers who are ACP qualified can save $30 on their purchases. This $30 savings applies to all subscription options, from the $60 annual plan right down to the $30 monthly plan.
If you qualify, you can cut your bill by at least half. Metro probably thought you and the rest of their customers were eligible for the programme so they could get a large chunk of money from the government. If you’re not, they probably shouldn’t have assumed so.
Tumblr media
Final Words
Metro PCS auto pay discount is an excellent way to save money each month while enjoying the convenience of automatic payments. For those who use Metro PCS services, setting up auto pay is a great way to ensure that you are making your payments on time and taking advantage of the discounts available to you. Additionally, if you have multiple lines of service with Metro PCS, this discount can help save even more money each month.

Like. Uggghhh
First of all, do not exit the bubble on social media. Just fucking don't.
If you have managed to avoid i/p discourse this far -- and the ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE firehose of misinformation it comes with -- you should be telling the rest of us how you do it.
My usual experience with posts about it on Tumblr often goes like.... There are TWO (2) posts on Tumblr saying that Israel has blockaded baby formula from entering Gaza and that babies are starving because of it. Each one had 15k-20k notes when I last saw them.
There is zero evidence, anywhere, suggesting that Israel has blocked baby formula from entering Gaza.
The posts both link to some article about the risk of famine in Gaza. The article does not say baby formula is blockaded. It quotes some mother as saying that baby formula is hard to find and is too expensive and she can't afford it.
Humanitarian aid is free. That is the point of humanitarian aid. If it's too expensive, that means people are paying for it. Which means it's on the black market because someone has stolen the aid.
People in Gaza have been all over Twitter for months saying that Hamas steals aid and sells what it doesn't want on the black market. And, sometimes, that there are also armed gangs stealing aid.
Israel has said that Hamas steals 60-70% of the aid entering Gaza. Hamas was caught stealing an UNRWA aid truck just the other day, AND shut down one of the crossings where most aid enters by firing rockets at it and damaging it.
These things are not of importance to the folks in the "pro-Palestinian" movement, because they do not demonize Israel. Hamas is free to steal all the aid, shut down all the crossings, and invade Israel again through them, as far as the movement goes.
Largely because the movement is driven by Students for Justice in Palestine. Which, it's turning out, is heavily funded by Hamas-led orgs in the U.S., and which has been a steady stream of Hamas propaganda for many years regardless.
Okay, I was going to list how I learn shit about the war, but I've already Gone Off, I Guess.
If you really feel you must:
1. Just ask me anything you want to know about, and I can give you the 5,000 sources I probably have about it.
2. Here's how I learned shit:
I fact-checked the hell out of everything I heard, no matter who it was from.
I still do.
For me, that means I Google it and I check what different "sides" say. Real news outlets fact-check things and tell you where they are getting their information. They may still spin things a certain way.
For example, one article might say that 500 aid trucks used to enter Gaza daily, while another one specifies that not all those trucks carried food. Eventually, you might find a Reddit post citing and linking to a U.N. study that says about 20% of the trucks carried food, giving you a more accurate sense of how much more or less is currently coming in.
Yeah, that's a real example. Sigh.
One thing I see a lot is the news media just dropping an issue. Like, if I go to Google's "news" results in my phone right now and sort by date, all the articles it gives me about ceasefire negotiations are from almost a week ago, saying that Hamas accepted a ceasefire and the U.S. is reviewing the terms while Israel proceeds in Rafah.
Only going directly to the Jerusalem Post breaking news section told me that Biden just said that there could have been a ceasefire yesterday (or Friday, by now) if Hamas had just agreed to release women, children, and the elderly hostages.
I'm so tired of this shit.
If someone posts something and the only sources mentioning it are what I would consider to be extremist sites that are not fact-checking their shit, I am assuming it's fake.
Exception: if it's an eyewitness account from someone IN Gaza who posted it on social media.
Exception to the exception: There are also fake videos and fake photos. There are a fair number of Twitter accounts dedicated to debunking these. There are also selectively edited videos. Always ask yourself what you're not seeing. What happened before they started recording? What's happening outside the frame and after they turn it off? How do you know?
I do a reverse image search of pretty much every goddamn one. I'll screenshot the photo or the thumbnail of the video and throw it into my Google Lens app.
If something is only showing up with snarky extremist pro-Israeli OR anti-Israel commentary, I'm dismissing it. If it's real, it'll end up coming up in some other way eventually.
If I'm not familiar with a source, I'll throw it into Media Bias Fact Check and look at how reliable it is.
This site is NOT a good source for whether an outlet has a left or right wing bias, because Hamas has been deliberately cloaking itself in liberal/progressive language for decades.
Wikipedia's page on reliable sources is also a good place to find out whether a media outlet is considered A Huge Fucking Mess or not.
It used to be considered flat-out conservative to support Hamas and its parent group, the Muslim Brotherhood; now it's an astroturfed progressive cause. Fuck Hamas.
Off the top of my head, some sites that I consider to be absolute propaganda that it's not worth even clicking on: Mondoweiss. The Electronic Intifada, which has some really extremist stuff and also is not a journalistic outlet. The New Arab is basically Al Jazeera, which is owned by the Qatari monarchy and has never fact-checked or corrected itself in its life. The Daily Mail can eat shit. And there was some damn article on here, I can't remember where, that literally redirected to Hamas's website. Oh, and Al Mayadeen, which is a "Lebanese Pan-Arabist news site" that's aligned with the fascist dictatorship of Iran.
Oh, and Jewish Currents is on fucking thin ice with me. I don't usually use it anyway because anything it covers will be covered better and more thoroughly somewhere else. But last week my friend kept urging me to read this article of theirs about how people use false claims of antisemitism to blah blah blah. In response to me posting a list of stuff happening at our local school district, like kids saying "Kill all Zionists," "Kill Jews," "Jews are dumb," etc. So like, fuck both of them tbqh.
Things that probably have decent info, but still need to be cross-checked: Haaretz. NBC. New York Times. Washington Post. The Guardian. CNN. I mean, pretty much anyone.
Honestly, the Jerusalem Post is surprisingly good. It consistently just lists the facts of what's going on, it tracks everything that happens in the war, it tells you everything the IDF and Hamas are saying is happening and shows you when those things conflict with each other, it is unflinching in publishing criticism of the government, it's published stuff from Palestinians in Gaza who write to it, etc.
"You didn't say you fact-check it!" Yeah, well, usually when I end up there, it's because I'm using it to fact-check something else. The exceptions are when I go to it for updates that nobody else is publishing. Like, only a large local paper is going to put in the effort to be all, "A missile hit an apartment building in Ashkelon and wounded three people."
Algemeiner is more of a blog, but it's very good when it comes to reporting on antisemitic incidents. Still needs to be fact-checked, but it generally has a lot more detail and analysis than other sites. Ditto The Atlantic.
Bassem Eid is a lifelong Palestinian human rights activist who is very vocal about the war and about Hamas, and has debunked things like the "flour massacre." He's on a lot of social media as @realbassemeid, but not on Tumblr!
The "flour massacre" is when people ran at the IDF, wouldn't stop, the IDF shot at the ground in front of them and then at their legs bc they still would not stop. And meanwhile, Hamas shot people who were trying to get aid while it looted the trucks; and then the truck drivers panicked and tried to flee and literally ran over like 70 more people. This gets retold on social media as "the flour massacre where Israel killed hundreds of people just trying to get aid."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you do want to get your news on social media, get it from people in and from Palestine. Bassem Eid is in the West Bank. Hamza Howidy fled Gaza last August after Hamas brutally crushed anti-Hamas protests; he still knows a ton of people in Gaza and has been a good source of info.
Following Palestinian human rights activists, and regular everyday Palestinians who hate Hamas (which is... a lot of them), has given me a lot of hope during the past seven months of Westerners sounding exactly like Hamas. Here are a few I enjoy:
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Yasmine Mohammed's father grew up in Gaza, and hated Hamas. She recently wrote, 'help them to get out from under the tyranny of Hamas. Share the voices of peace-loving Palestinians such as activist Bassem Eid. Elevate the words of secular politicians who do not use religion to sow division and encourage hate of the other."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Since the start of the war I've kind of lived in a bubble I've created for myself. I knew generally what was going on, but not really. I guess it was just my way to cope.
Recently, I've started to try to dismantle the bubble I've created for myself. I've tried researching on my own, but I don't know which sources are credible enough.
Could you give me a list of credible places to start researching?
(I'd you've answered) Thanks for listening, I hope your day wasn't too miserable.
sorry, it says in my pinned post that I'm basically in the exact same situation, I'm not a credible source of information, everything I post on my blog that doesn't have its own source is an opinion.
@spot-the-antisemitism do you have any?

Chapter 2: https://crypt-keepers-den.tumblr.com/post/683435744361070592/domestic-hawks-part-2maybe
The sounds of the morning radio played throughout your apartment, keigo had left for work a few hours ago, giving you a kiss goodbye and a warning to remember to eat breakfast. Lifting yourself from the warm confines of the bed feeling heavier than usual, slowly making your way to the kitchen and opening the fridge, scanning around the shelves looking to see if there was anything to satisfy your hunger, you'd have to go out for groceries later but the remains of last nights pizza takeout would suffice; propping yourself up onto the counter you begin to eat the left overs while scrolling through various social medias, an article caught your eye your No. 2 hero husband's face plastered all over the article "HERO HAWKS EXCLUSIVE Q&A" clicking on the video link provided within the article your husband's face pops up on the screen, his signature smile causing you to crack a grin "I'm here with the number 2 hero Hawks for a very exclusive Q&A" the young reporter sits shuffling what must be her queue cards while Keigo waves to the camera "so Hawks how are you today?" your husband shrugs his shoulders "cant complain", the reporter seems to accept that answer and moves on "so Hawks as one of the top heroes we don't get to hear about your life outside of hero business, what are you up to these days? is there a lovely someone waiting on you at home or are you still partying it up as one of japans top bachelors?" you notice he visibly stiffens, it looks like he's battling himself but then quickly shakes himself out of it regaining his composure seconds later "there might be someone...then again there might not be" the reporter gives a quick laugh "so your going to keep us guessing?" Keigo runs his hands through his hair "where's the fun if i just told you all my secrets, I'd loose my mysterious charm" .
"we've got a few questions from fans, if you wouldn't mind answering them?" Keigo nods, you could tell he didn't want to be there, he was putting on that suave cover to appease everyone. "one fan asks Hawks as the number 2 hero Do you ever intend to slow down and perhaps start a family with a lucky someone?" Keigo let a light laugh out "sure I'd love to have little chicks of my own but until these streets are free of crime and heroes like myself have more free time, I'm afraid its just not top of my list right now" He shot the camera a smile. You knew Keigo was lying for the past month you both had been indulging in each others fantasies, fucking like animals without any barriers, no condoms and no birth control. Clicking off the video you jump down off the counter your feet landing on the marble with a soft thump; cleaning your hands off, you bin the empty box and head towards the laundry room stopping by your shared bedroom to pick up any dirty laundry you had missed the night before, turning the radio up you got to work sorting out loads of laundry; making sure to take keigo's uniform out and put it into a delicate wash, a familiar song plays and you begin to move to the beat, your hips softly swinging while folding laundry, the sound of the wash machines hum fills the room. Unbeknownst to you a certain feathery someone had stopped by to see his favourite birdie, needing to see something other than the four walls of his office. The site of you gently swaying to the rhythm brought a smile to his face, sneaking up behind you he snakes his hands around your waist, gently tickling your neck with his facial hair. You let out a loud screech at the contact, recognising the feel of his leather gloves and the fluffiness of his jacket pressed against you, you realised who the intruder was; you turn around and give him a soft slap to the chest "Keigo you asshole, you almost gave me a heart attack!" he lets out a soft airy laugh "sorry dove, I saw you in here and I couldn't resist" you raise an eyebrow at him before shooting him a cheeky grin, Keigo quickly leaned down and captured your lips before pulling back again; smiling "maybe we could order in dinner tonight, maybe a glass or two of wine; see where the night leads us" he wiggles his eyebrows at you, causing you to fall into a fit of giggles "HEY dove don't laugh at me I'm trying to be suave!" he pouts at you causing you to lift your hands and reach for his face; he happily lets you cradle his jaw, smiling at the contact. He looks at your heart swelling at the cute face he was pulling; you lean in and plant a kiss on his nose causing him to laugh, "dinner sounds great baby" he pulls himself back together, smiling down at you "okay baby let me go get changed, and you my beautiful baby can order what you want" he boops your nose before walking off towards your shared bedroom. Shaking your head at his nonsense, casting the laundry aside you grab your phone and head out towards the living room, flopping down on the couch, scrolling through the fast food service that you both liked before placing an order for a mixed boneless chicken box with a side of noodles. Keigo's head plops down on your shoulder "you pick something baby?" you nod showing him the delivery time, he kisses the side of your neck, " ill go grab us a couple of beers then" you look at him, your insides suddenly feeling weird "yeah, um sure lemme just go to the bathroom real quick" he looks at you puzzled but decides not to question it, you quickly tip toe off to the bathroom managing to close the door before a sudden wave of nausea hit you "holy shit-" you gag, you stare into the mirror, before opening the cabinet to reach for something to help pacify this nausea, you come eye to eye with the pack of pregnancy tests that you'd both decided to buy and keep stocked in the bathroom. A soft knock comes from the door, "Dove, you alright in there?" your head was spinning, all you could murmur "Keigo i-" the door swung open revealing Keigo's worried face "Dove talk to me, Whats wrong?"
Suddenly it was like a fog came over your brain, you couldn't form a sentence, "keigo...i think.." he looked worried, fuck you needed to say something, it hurt to see him so worried "Pregnant...I think i'm Pregnant" Keigo's jaw might as well of hit the ground "Are you sure? have you done one of those test thingies? or do we need to go to the Doctors?" you quickly shushed him, explaining that what you had was a hunch and that you hadn't taken a test yet, both agreeing that you needed to take a test, keigo left the room allowing you some privacy.
Grabbing a pregnancy test you quickly unwrap it and seat yourself on the toilet, having done your thing you quickly clean yourself up and set the test on the counter waiting for it to stop blinking. The sudden nausea turns to anticipation and excitement could this be really it? were you and Keigo expecting? looking back down at the test you see a clear 'POSITIVE 2-3' you let out a soft gasp, as tears begin to collect at the corner of your eyes, you open the door immediately greeted by Keigo who himself is clearly drowning in his own anticipation, his eyes meet with your own trying to read the expression on your face, you hold the test up to him, confusion clouding his face "keigo read it" his eyes scan the small screen before meeting yours again before looking back for a second read, "Dove...are we? are you?" you nod, if you could see inside keigo's brain it would just be a loading symbol.
then it sunk, "OH SHIT, IM GONNA BE A DAD".

An interview with Måneskin: “It's not about out bodies, it's about our music”
Heyo, I'm back with another translation. This time the article is from the German Rolling Stone website who met with Måneskin after their TikTok performance at the Schwuz, Berlin, and posted the interview yesterday. Again there were some interesting questions asked (and the pictures they added to the article are quite nice, though severely lacking some Ethan content, but check it out!).
Again, I hope that no one has already gone through the effort and translated it or is currently working on a translation. Also this is an official invitation, if you stumble across any articles or video interviews in German that you would like to have translated just message me and I'll get to it! (or if you just wanna chat about Måneskin, my inbox is always open :))
Have a great day everyone!
Full article under the cut.

An interview with Måneskin: “It's not about out bodies, it's about our music”
Jose-Luis Amsler
July 6, 2021
Måneskin are just what this generation has been missing. Passionate, corny, and full-on honest. In an interview with Rolling Stones, the ESC winners explain to us why they would never work in a normal job and why the hype for their appearance is sometimes going too far.
Damiano, Victoria, Thomas and Ethan are entering the nearly deserted dance hall, before they wait on stage in a red-blue spotlight. They are wearing glittering fish net tops, black tape across their nipples, leather pants, heels and make up. The camera men who are filming in portrait format (9:16) suitable for TikTok are whirling up the haze of the fog machine.
Måneskin are [in] Berlin to give a TikTok concert. A TikTok livestream of this scale has not been done often – tension is in the air. The four Italians don't know at this point that due to the stream the few people present are not allowed to clap or cheer. In complete silence and with slight uncertainty the four are crossing Neukölln's club Schwuz. A few puzzled glances are exchanged. Finally,  Måneskin are striking the first chord.
Then the rich sound of Ethan's bass drum is tearing through the silence. It's almost as if someone has flicked a switch somewhere. There it is, the rock star presence that is hovering over everything they do, with an ounce of arrogance (in the best sense of the word). Singer Damiano is dancing lasciviously on his heels, and during an especially ecstatic solo guitarist Thomas is throwing himself down on the floor in a way it can only be done by a passionate 20-year-old musician who had never had to worry about the looming doom of an artificial knee joint [for 'passionate' the interview is using the term 'besessen' which means 'possessed', and although I think it's rather supposed to describe the way Thomas is 'possessed / obsessed' with the music, thus passionate for the music, you never know if they didn't mean to say that the way he dances looks 'possessed' … I mean, they might be on to something here ;)]. Around half an hour and about 120 decibel later, Damiano says their goodbyes with an almost shy-sounding “Okay, bye.” After the performance, we do our interview in the Schwuz.
Rolling Stone: It was a little bit weird, right, when you went on stage today?
Damiano: Yeah, that was really strange (laughs). They only told us after the performance that the audience was instructed to stay silent for the stream.
Vic: But at least they weren't silent because we were shit (all laughing). We are slowly getting used to playing without a live audience. I mean we are doing this now for more than a year.
RS: What do you think about these new kinds of concerts such as the TikTok livestream today?
Damiano: Well, at the moment it is the only option to perform anyway, so it's alright. But of course you cannot compare this to a proper concert.
Thomas: But it's pretty cool that so many people can experience our concert live.
Vic: Also we're gonna start touring again soon. Right now we are arranging some festival and gigs. In December we will be touring Italy and afterwards we are planning to go on tour through Europe. But we don't have anything fixed yet, there is just a lot going on at the moment.
“A lot going on”. Quite an understatement considering the recent journey Måneskin has made through the past weeks after their ESC win. Their singles “Beggin'” and “I Wanna Be Your Slave” went through the roof (also thanks to Social Media) and are currently dominating the international charts – lately they were also number one in Germany. There is barely a radio station that isn't playing the band on heavy rotation [would love to know what stations they listen to, have never heard Måneskin played in German radio tbh :( ], and everyone opening Instagram or TikTok these days is flooded by Måneskin content. Every second a new fanpage with the name of 'maneskin_obsession' or 'damianos_slut' is springing up like a (virtual) mushroom. It sounds like a cliche, but Damiano, Vic, Thomas and Ethan became international stars over night.
“Of course it's nice to get compliments. But sometimes they definitely cross a line.” – Damiano David
RS: How has your life as a band changed since your win at the ESC in Rotterdam?
Vic: I think we don't even notice a lot of what's happening. Right after the ESC we went to a studio in the countryside where we made music the whole day long. So at first we didn't realise that so many things were happening all around us – and that we had so many new fans. We're just now beginning to learn what's going on. We were at Sony yesterday, there were so many fans waiting for us. That was crazy.
RS: A large part of the attention you are getting now is about your outer appearance, your style, your attractiveness. Is that getting a little too much sometimes?
Damiano: Of course it's nice to get compliments (laughs). But sometimes they definitely cross a line. Especially when we just talk about our music or about a social or political topic that we care about. In those moments it's just completely inappropriate to reduce us to our appearance. Sure – when I'm posting a half-naked picture of myself on Instagram I know that I will get these kind of comments. And then it's totally fine, I mean in the end I'm posting the picture to show myself. But sometimes it's not the right place for it.
RS: And also you should be allowed to wear what you want without being sexualised, right?
Vic: Yes, absolutely. We are wearing these outfits because we feel good in them, not to put the focus on our bodies. And in general it shouldn't always only be about how you dress. We are musicians – so first and foremost it should be about our music. But I think it will still be a long way until we will reach that point.
“That the boys are wearing make up does not tell you what gender they are attracted to. Those things should never be equated with each other.” – Victoria De Angelis
RS: But still you are sending a message with your style against stereotypical gender roles. I guess it's also not only coincidence that we are in the Schwuz today, which is normally a party location and safe space for the LGBTQ community.
Vic: Yes, that is all part of the positive message that we try to send. We want to give our audience the feeling that they are free. Free to wear whatever they want to wear, be how they want to be and love whom they want to love. It's unbelievable that there is still so much intolerance in our times. That has always been really important to us so we try to talk about these topics. We also believe that the narrow-mindedness of society is an educational problem. When you grow up with people all around you telling you how you should be, you will never feel completely free. The more people are talking about it, the sooner things will change.
RS: Some artists who are advocating for these topics are accused of 'queerbaiting', that they are only pretending to be a certain way to gain more support from the queer community. Have you also been faced with those allegations?
Vic: Yes, a few times. But of course we never pretended to be anything. Some people accuse of us queerbaiting because we look and act the way we do. But that's flawed thinking. We don't believe that clothes are connected to a person's sexuality. That the boys are wearing make up does not tell you what gender they are attracted to. Those two things should never be equated with each other.
RS: This courage for free self expression that you are conveying is mainly lived by our (young) generation through Instagram and the like. What is your relationship to social media?
Damiano: For me it was almost scary at first. The more we grew, the more people were trying to twist all of my words. But over time you start to understand that with more fame you also get more criticism. The happier you look the more hate you will get. It's not only like that for celebrities. If you are brave enough to show the things that make you happy there will always be people that support you, but they are also those that envy you. Of course, this should never lead anyone to not express themselves openly but that's easier said than done.
Vic: We are also trying not to spend too much time on social media. In the end we just try to be honest with our fans and to avoid negativity.

It's actually surprising how little power a win at the ESC holds in most cases. Almost 200 million people are watching this shining spectacle every year – and still, a few months afterwards it is hard to remember who those people were that got covered in confetti during the award ceremony. It's the well-known curse of a casting show that rests on the winning bands. When just next year a new sensation will come to marvel at, how much impact does a win have then? There are exceptions of course, like Lena who is until this day, 10 years after her win in Oslo, a part of the more famous music scene of German pop music. With their charisma, their unusual sound at least for our modern standards, and their contemporary message Måneskin could become such an exception, too.
It's likely also helpful that the band already had a standing in the Italian music scene prior to their ESC participation. Their first album 'Il ballo della vita' already achieved platinum in 2018, three years prior to Sanremo and the ESC. And then there is also the long way that led the four schoolmates to this point that helped them gain the necessary persistence. Because contrary to what some people might want to believe Måneskin are not a phenomenon that has just been deliberately bred to be this way by the entertainment industry for Eurovision.
“I have worked [in a 'normal' job] for a whole month in my entire life – it didn't really end well.” – Damiano David
RS: You were all raised in Rome, the capital of the catholic church. What was it like to start as a young progressive band in such a conservative environment?
Damiano: In the beginning, when we started as buskers, no one gave a damn about us anyways (all laughing). But of course … Once we got a bit bigger there were a few people who had a problem with us. For example when we went to Sanremo, there were quite many people who thought that the way we looked and acted we shouldn't be allowed to represent Italy. They didn't even want to listen to our music first.
Vic: Especially when it comes to appearance and sexuality, Italy is a little more backward than other countries. The church probably also has an influence there. They are often quite conservative of course, so many people grew up with such a [conservative] mindset.
RS: You once said that the song 'In Nome Del Padre' is an answer to exactly those people. What does the song mean to you?
Damiano: Back in the beginning [of our career] we had to deal with a lot of problems. They didn't want to let us play in clubs because we would take too much space as a band or because they didn't like our (fashion) style or because they didn't want to pay us. Italy isn't a good place for bands. Our musical style was also criticised a lot. Many people were telling us: Don't do that [rock music], you won't get popular with that in Italy, you will never achieve anything with it. Of course those comments were hurtful but they were also a good reason for us to continue with what we did. And we turned our sadness into anger. With that song we wanted to tell those people from back then: Fuck off and look at us, we did it!
RS: Did you ever consider working in a nine-to-five job and live a 'normal' life?
Damiano: Nah, not really. For one month in my life I worked [in a 'normal' job] – it didn't end well (all laughing).
Vic: We all made music since we were kids. It's a huge part of us, that we couldn't just ignore. And the most important thing is that you do something that makes you happy. At least that's what we believe. So we started from a young age to put all our time and energy into music.
Thomas: Yeah, exactly. Ever since we were in school together we always made music. That has always been our main focus and it is until today. We play and play and play because it is the only thing that …
Ethan: … we live for.
Damiano: Music has also something very therapeutic for us. Even when we are in a bad mood or fight with each other – yeah, that happens, too – then all of that is gone the moment we enter the stage. Maybe that's the beautiful thing about music – that it allows you to forget everything else. You're just standing on stage, having fun with your friends.
From most bands you wouldn't buy such a corny love letter to music. Mostly it just sounds like an empty phrase, a well-practiced quotable line. But when there is something that defines Måneskin and that becomes more and more evident during our conversation it's their uncompromising honesty. The four of them are definitely not lacking a sense of humour but they take their music very seriously. Which should not be taken for granted in a generation that has mainly produced sarcastic cloud rappers and has made cynical twitter comedy a national sport. And maybe Måneskin are exactly what this generation was lacking all along.
Still, the four musicians, all in the age of 20 to 22, are also prone to the constant need for self-expression, that has become an intrinsic part of today's life. This does not only reflect in the outfits of the band (always 'on fleek') and their Instagram profiles, but also in their lyrics. Their latest record 'Teatra D'Ira – Vol. 1' shows a clear theme: The album is an ode to individuality, accentuated by fast and hard sounds.
Sometimes this message fitting for a Disney movie [really? guess I have been watching the wrong Disney movies my whole life …] is wrapped in a contrasting loud and forceful packaging, but never so much that it becomes inauthentic or self-caricaturing [note: I'm honestly not entirely sure what they wanted to say with this sentence since it uses a lot of rhetorical devices that could be interpreted in different ways, but I'd say this sounds the most plausible]. And in the end, the thing that makes Måneskin so interesting is their unification of the spirit of this time – between TikTok hedonism and an omnipresent political statement – with the music of past generations.
“When you are twenty, you start to think about what the future will hold.” – Damiano David
RS: Your musical style is often described as classical 70s rock, but in fact there are many different influences in your music. Sometimes you groove almost into funk, sometimes it's more rapping than singing. How did this mixture come to be?
Thomas: It's just that we all have our own individual influences and then we meet somewhere in the middle. And we always try to stay open for experiments.
Ethan: Yes, we are very experimental in our song writing process.
Vic: We also don't want to limit ourselves to what is regarded as typical rock music. If rap fits better at some point then we just add that in. It just happens naturally without us thinking too much about it.
RS: So why was it still rock music in the end?
Vic: Because it's the style that we feel most represented by. But actually we just play the music that we enjoy playing. That's really important to us so that we can show something real on stage. We don't want to pretend to be something that we aren't or mock those people that really enjoy our music. You should always be proud of what you're doing and never fake anything just to sell more records.
RS: Is there something like an Italian rock music scene?
Vic: There are quite a lot of bands – but the most of them are much older than us or they are more going in the direction Indie rock. There isn't really a young rock scene, which we think is a pity. But ever since we got more famous people are telling us that they started listening to rock music because of us or that they bought their first guitar and such. That's incredibly nice!
RS: So you're saying that you also want to show this style of music to a younger generation. And you capture this contrast quite well in the song 'Vent'anni', which is a typical rock ballad but lyrically portrays the thoughts of today's youth. Where did the motivation come from to write that song?
Damiano: With the song I wanted to show that I'm just a normal guy, a really typical 20-year-old. I experience the same things that other people in my age are experiencing, I'm just doing another job than them. Also I wanted to describe this age as a whole because I think it's a really special age. At 20 you start to think about what the future will hold. I think it's one of the most important stages of your life. Since we (the four of us) are all in the same age, I then started to mix our experiences together. In the end the song shows what it means to us to be 20. There is a lot of good things – you are quite carefree and are looking at life enthusiastically. But on the other hand you're too young to do certain things and too old to do others. Some people are treating you like a full-grown adult, but …
Vic: … not entirely.
Damiano: Exactly. It can get pretty frustrating at times. We wanted to show our audience: Hey, we're also just 20 years old, and we're going through the same things as you. We understand you.
RS: Except that you are the ones who are becoming a world-wide phenomenon right now. How do you want to maintain this honesty?
Damiano: I think that we could just reach this point because we have always been authentic – for better or for worse. Also we are just trying to have fun with what we're doing together. That's something special that we don't want to lose. In the end we're just four friends who started to live their dream. It's actually pretty simple. Of course – we go on stage, we get a lot of attention, we give interviews – but when we come back home we're just four friends.

Moving Forward - Chapter 6
Chapter Six
Realizations... (pt. 1)
—————
"I am proud of your chosen, Tikki."
Wayzz said in a calm voice. "She took in the responsibility of being a heroine exchange for her time in her civilian life, and now, she chose to carry the heavy responsibility of a Guardian even though she can refuse it and pass it to someone else, leaving everything behind."
The other kwamis nodded at the wise turtle kwami's words. Tikki looked at them and smiled.
"I'm proud of my bug. She's a worthy ladybug and had shown how worthy she is despite her flaws. She made mistakes, but she chose to fix them. And now she's healing from the toxicity she had received in that place. Sleep well, Marinette..."
— previous chapter... —
The Akuma Class was experiencing an unknown change. And they don't know the exact reason.
It's been two weeks since Marinette hasn't been coming to class.
The first day, Alya thought she was just late or have an errand to run during the morning and will come to class after lunch, but it didn't happen. After classes were done, she tried calling her, only to be redirected to her voicemail immediately. Not knowing her 'best friend' had bought a new phone and uses a new number. She was slightly sour thinking that Marinette is being stubborn in hanging out with Lila, and chose to reprimand her for letting her jealousy get in between a possible friendship with the girl.
The others didn't notice how Adrien was down during the rest of that day. They didn't notice Chloé having a slightly pained look in her eyes.
She was slightly angry that Dupain-Cheng easily gave up in exposing the liar, but it's not like she helped the girl. She had no right to be angry about how Dupain-Cheng chose to move on with life. When she saw her being surrounded by people she didn't know and was walking towards a table, she stared for a moment. Chloé hasn't heard her laugh for a while, the bubbly aura around the girl was fading when she was in Dupont.
Chloé hated to admit it, but she envied the ravenette. Dupain-Cheng having a happy family, while her own mother left them to go to New York for work when she was a child, creating a drift between their relationship. Her own father didn't hang out with her anymore due to his duties being the City's Mayor. Dupain-Cheng gained friends while she was being hated for being a bully who always annoys others and uses her triumph card when she gets in trouble.
She was staring at the raventte's table with a melancholic look. The girl was happy, and Chloé couldn't deny it. Part of her wants to convince Dupain-Cheng to go back to Dupont and defeat the vixen but she didn't want to be selfish for once.
After lunch period she came back to class and grabbed Sabrina's attention, and told her to come with her after class.
The two are in Chloé's bedroom in Le Grand Paris.
"I'm sorry..."
Sabrina was startled to hear such sincere words coming from the person she knew could be very bratty for a long time.
"I'm sorry that I treated you like a servant. And that I made you take some of the consequences from my actions. I want to justify it by letting people know that I lost a mother figure from my childhood and didn't teach me proper manners and that she is very bossy, and that I tried to fit in with her. But I know I can't... There are people around me that could've inspired me to be a better person, like Dup-Marinette..."
When Sabrina heard the name she was about to retaliate but Chloé didn't give her a chance.
"No, Sabrina. She's right. I grew up with people who lie about their backgrounds just to fit in with society. Everything can be searched on the internet Sabrina. I know your smart, use it and prove to me right now that you, defending that Liar is a good thing."
Sabrina stared at Chloé, she was growing nervous, Chloé rarely helps around class problems, and for her to defend the person she has been ridiculing for a long time is strange. So Sabrina did it, she searched.
She sat there, appalled and disappointed, after that there are no articles about a Lila Rossi aside from the girl's interviews in the Ladyblog. Chloé left her to go to her balcony and leaned on the railing. Sabrina ran up to her.
"Chloé we need to let everyone know about this! Maybe we can help Marinette expose her? Collect evidence? Contact her mother? We can help Marinette gain back her reputation and her friends! We can—" Sabrina rambled.
"It's too late, Sabrina..." Chloé said that made Sabrina stop rambling and just stared at her in confusion.
"I saw her. She moved on. Marinette was wearing a uniform from a different school. Marinette gave up, Sabrina, she gave up on trying to protect her so-called friends after being dismissed. You should've seen her, she was so happy, something we— I haven't seen for a while..."
That statement made Sabrina tearful. Staring at nothing, she started remembering glimpses of the ravenette.
She remembered the time that when she looks in Marinette's direction, she was so dull. Like a doll— a Marionette, not reacting to how her sketchbook was torn apart, how her dull bluebell eyes stare at Mlle Bustier when she is talking to her, how she doesn't react when their classmates are attacking her for bullying Lila. Sabrina finally realizes how she treated someone like that without proof. Her own father imbedded to her that 'innocent until proven guilty', yet she didn't even try to see both perspectives and just went along with the class.
Her actions are much worse than how Chloé acted.
"I'll give Marinette credit. That liar tried to break her, but she broke free and spread her wings without looking back, and saved herself."
Sabrina nodded at Chloé's statement while copying the girl's position of leaning on the balcony rails, looking out to Paris.
—————
Juleka Couffaine, the Akuma Class' resident shy goth girl.
When she first met Lila Rossi, she was skeptical, her brother is a fan of Jagged Stone, and when she heard Lila say that she saved Jagged's kitten on an airplane runway was very sketchy for Juleka.
Before she knew it, Marinette became a pariah. She often denies becoming an accomplice due to her neutrality to the problem. When Marinette didn't arrive Monday morning, she was worried. The girl who pleaded to the photographer to take another class photo with her in it, to break her 'photo curse', is absent.
She tried calling her phone, but it went straight to voicemail. She was currently sitting on her bed and her brother strumming his guitar. He notices how she was just staring at her phone in a daze.
"Hey, Luka... does Jagged had a pet cat in his life?" Juleka asks looking up to her brother.
Luka was surprised by the question, "As far as I know, he didn't have one. Due to him being allergic and the cat not being rock-and-roll enough. Why?"
Luka was shocked when Juleka started tearing up, he immediately puts his guitar down to comfort her baby sister.
"I messed up, Luka... I badly messed up..."
After calming down a little, Juleka finally explained to him why she was crying. She explained that the new girl in her class made Juleka skeptical about her, and then about Marinette's supposed 'cheating', 'stealing', and 'assault', she then talked about how Marinette kept accusing the new girl of lying but no one believing her, and that soon Marinette became a pariah in their class. Juleka told them about all the lies that Rossi has said.
Overall, Luka was disappointed in her.
"You said that Marinette tried to expose her right? Why didn't you back her up, as a friend would do? Isn't she also your friend? Why didn't you voice out your concern about this to Marinette? or to me?"
Luka sighed, before backing away from his sister.
"You said your class hates Chloé for being a bully, but aren't they acting like a bully? Your class, isolated Marinette. I don't know how she managed it. But right now, it might be too late to act, Jules. At the very least, try and fix your mistake..." Luka said before leaving her alone for a moment, and let her think.
Meanwhile, Rose's phone suddenly pinged due to a notification. When she checked it out it was a message from Juleka.
Juleka:  Hey, uhm...
Juleka: Can you do me a favour? Please?
Rose:  Sure! What is it?
Juleka: Please trust me on this... can you ask Prince Ali about his environmental charities and if he knows a certain 'Lila Rossi'?
Rose:  Juleka? Why?
Juleka: Please... please ask him...
Rose was confused by Juleka's request, if she thought about it she was asking just like Marinette did months ago. But Rose decided to shake that thought out of her head, she knew Juleka was not a bully, like Marinette and how she bullies Lila.
Rose decided to trust Juleka and messaged him.
Rose: Hello, Ali! Can I ask a question? A friend of mine, wants to know about your environmental charities with Lila Rossi, I think it's for a project. Thank you! <3
She didn't know why but she felt nervous sending that message. She shrugged it off and put the phone down to continue her scrapbooking. She waited for a few minutes before she heard another notification sound from her phone. And when she read the message, she froze.
Prince Ali: Hello, Rose! I'm sorry, but I only do children charities since the Royal Family doesn't control the environemental ones, it is mostly done by Achu's government, and sorry to disappoint but I do not know a Lila Rossi. Is she a new friend of yours?
Rose was too frozen to not even notice that she had dropped her phone. She kept looking in her hand as if it was all just a dream. That Prince Ali did know Lila Rossi, but when she picked her phone back up and read the text once again, it said the same thing.
'This can't be happening! If this is true... then I bullied Marinette for no reason!'
Rose: Oh! I'm... sorry for my misinformation... Lila's a... classmate of mine. Sorry for the trouble...
Rose didn't notice the tears dripping from her eyes.
She was numb. She couldn't deny this information, it is a direct reply from the Prince of Achu. That he— Prince Ali, doesn't know someone named Lila Rossi. She was lied to. Lila Rossi lied to me. She thought.
And Marinette asked you to ask him months ago, didn't she? She tried to warn you... You didn't listen to her!
There was a sudden voice in the back of her mind, how she ridiculed Marinette for bullying Lila. But it was all a lie. She treated Marinette horribly for a lie...
She hurriedly opened her internet browser and searched for any of Lila's accomplishments only to see a bunch of interviews from the Ladyblog, nowhere else.
Rose: Prince Ali... doesn't do environmental charities, he only does children charities and... he doesn't know a Lila Rossi.
Juleka: ... I'm sorry, Rose.
Juleka: I only realized my mistake after talking to Luka, I'm sorry if I didn't voice out when I was skeptical about her in the beginning...
Rose: She lied... She lied!
Rose: I can't believe her! We treated her as a friend!
Juleka: Rose, please calm down! I don't want you to become an akuma! Please!
Seeing that message she tried so hard to calm down. Juleka was right, she doesn't want Shadowmoth to turn her into an Akuma! She needed to calm down.
After calming down, she messaged Marinette, but there was no reply, then she finally noticed that Marinette wasn't present during class that day. So she tried calling but was sent to voicemail immediately. She tried calling a few times before she stopped.
She'll just talk to her tomorrow, but that didn't happen... and it has been two weeks...
—————
Adrien Agreste was in denial.
He didn't want to believe that Marinette really did transfer schools. He wanted to visit her as Chat, but since he hasn't seen his kwami, he can't transform. And he's growing worried every second. No Plagg, no Akuma, and no Marinette...
His worrisome state affected his fencing classes. He was always immediately defeated by Kagami Tsurugi. She was displeased that he became a wimp in fencing.
"What made you so distracted lately? That's not like you Agreste." Kagami said.
"Nothing... I'm just worried about Marinette, she hasn't been in class lately, and it's been two weeks!" Adrien replied.
What Adrien said, made Kagami's brow shot up, in confusion. She had talked to Marinette one time, and she had shared that she transferred schools, and has been doing well. She also found out about the 'Lila situation' in Dupont and was very angry that Adrien Agreste knew but didn't say anything. It took a whole lot of Marinette's energy to stop Kagami from attacking Agreste with her sword or using her mother's sword!
"Haven't you heard?" Kagami asked.
"Heard what? You've talked to Marinette?!" Adrien asked enthusiastically.
"Yes. She had transferred schools due to unfortunate situations here in Dupont." Kagami answered before walking towards the locker rooms.
Adrien ran up towards her, held her shoulders and made her face him. "You're kidding right?! Marinette is still a student here! She'll come back here!"
Kagami stared at him in bewilderment.
"I-I gotta go... Bye Kagami..." Adrien said.
Kagami can only stare at the boy's retreating back. From Kagami's perspective, she thinks that Agreste was in denial of Marinette transferring schools. He was also oblivious to the aspiring designer's feelings. But this was different... The way he tries to convince himself that Marinette still goes to Dupont is unsettling.
It's as if, he was supposed to have control over her life. It made Kagami's instinct more unsettled.
Adrien was pacing around his room after he got home from fencing classes. He was becoming more nervous by the second.
He tried looking for her social media accounts only to find none of it exists, he swore that he followed her socials.
Even Nathalie noticed how jittery the young Agreste was, she tried finding out the reason why, but couldn't pinpoint it due to being sidetracked.
The peacock miraculous was missing from the safe, and Gabriel Agreste was furious! He already lost the Grimoire book, the previous Guardians' tablet and now the fixed peacock miraculous. They reviewed the footage from his security cameras, and found nothing!
This made him sidetracked about his supervillain duties, he ignored the past powerful emotions the brooch felt, in exchange to search the whole mansion about the missing items of his. Adrien was no help.
Gabriel calmed down for a second and felt a negative emotion to vent and try to find out if Ladybug got the peacock miraculous.
When he found one, he informed Nathalie about privacy and went to his lair. he transformed to Hawkmoth once again due to the lack of the peacock miraculous.
"Ah, the agonizing pain of experiencing a heartbreak..."
A butterfly flew and rested in his palm, while he fills it with negative power. Once he is done he opened his palm and lets the Akuma flap its wings.
"Fly away, my little Akuma, and evilize this brokenhearted woman!"
The Akuma made its way towards a crying woman near the Seine, wearing a wedding dress. It landed on her headpiece.
"Enchanttréx, I am Hawkmoth. You've been betrayed by the person your loved one, I'm giving you the power to expose any secrets that were chosen to be hidden away from the world. In return, you will bring me ladybug and Chat Noir's Miraculous. Do we have a deal?"
"Yes, Hawkmoth."
The purple substance covered the woman in a wedding dress, and when it was gone it left a woman, who has an intricate gold flower-themed headpiece, long black hair that reaches up to her mid-back, a flowy white to black gradient dress, gold strapped heels, white laced gloves that reach up to her forearm and a veil in front of her face.
"It's time to let yourself free from your secrets!" Enchanttréx exclaimed making the nearby Parisians run away in fear and alerting the heroes.

LT2 masterpost
If it was up to me, we would get an autumn or winter EP. Since it’s not up to me at all, here, enjoy this post with everything we know so far of LT2, which is to say, not much at all. Everything here is hypothetical. I’ll be updating every time I see something relevant. A little disclaimer that while this is a masterpost (kinda), it could be read as discourse (duh, it’s also a theory), AND it’s also by me, and you shouldn’t expect me to be serious at this point.
Due to me restraining myself, there’s no reference to any of the times he’s mentioned his guitar skills and him improving but I hope you know I cried every single time.
I’m also linking my old pinned here. It was written before AFHF and around the free merch thing that didn’t lead to much, but I still think I made some good points.
Possible tracks:
Copy of a Copy of a Copy
Change
Faith in the future??
369??
Possible names:
369
Faith in the future
When is the album coming out?
Your guess is as good as mine
Friday 28th of January 2022. Almost two years after Walls. It’s a Friday. It’s a 28th. What else can I say?
Here you can find @want-to-be-loved timelines for every month.
Here you can find @berlinini’s timeline of what Louis has been up to this year (2021).
The rest is under the cut. And here you can find a PDF version where Tumblr can't tell me how many pictures I can add.
2020
He said back on May 2th 2020 he wasn’t writing anything new yet.
Tumblr media
(x)(x)(x)
Interestingly enough, he’s said many times after that that the album’s not ready cause he has no new experiences to drawn from. I won’t call him out because he does it himself.
May 4th. He liked a tweet from DMA’s Johnny Took saying they had to go write together again. Louis has been credited as an influence for them and (kind of) participated in their previous record, so I’m assuming he meant for their music and not his, but you never know.
Nothing(literally nothing??? how did we survive) until 11th of July. We all know what happened that day. We all celebrated it. Nonetheless, that’s not what I’m talking about here.
(x) So, by the beginning of July 2020 he was working on concepts and ideas for the new album. That was fifteen months ago. I know perfection takes time but…
Brief summary of important things that happened from then until the next mention of new music:
Louis left Syco!!!! 10 days later he rescheduled the tour for the first time. He followed Matt Vines on Twitter, probably so we could publicly shame him into doing something. Also, the 10thanniversary. He followed more people I wish he hadn’t.
Then more nothing until September. Not even a single tweet. The first merch drop was on the 28th of August but he just RT’ed the tweet. He first mentioned Free my Meal on the 25th of September. Then on October 1st Walls hit #1 on a lot of countries and Louis was incredibly happy and excited about it ^^
And then, that same day, October 1st, 2020, he dropped this bomb:
Tumblr media
(x)
He also said it was too soon to be sharing new lyrics with us (x)
And, obviously, this tweet which is actually what made me start this whole post. I would hope you know mate.
Tumblr media
(x)
He also told us he was cooking "banger after banger" and that he was incorporating more social themes into his music (x)(x) (I believe any social issue is a political issue but that’s not the point rn).
COPY OF A COPY OF A COPY?!?!
These next paragraphs are brought to you by my mind not remembering things and me not having any links. I’m assuming COACOAC came from those writing sessions that supposedly happened in October. Or in LA but I have no idea if he actually was in LA at any point other than a Daily Mail article putting him there on December which would have been too late, but I do remember that someone said he was in the studio in LA last autumn???? A rumor. Maybe. IDK. Did I mention already all of this is very hypothetical?? Well, this is it. I can’t even remember if this was October or November or what. So, take this with a grain of salt.
I’m also… taking the liberty to assume, if you must, that Copy wasn’t meant to be a Walls reject because it sounds more mature and darker and it has a vastly different tone that Walls songs. I know he’s said that song probably isn’t getting into the album, but I want to have faith (in the future) that I’m getting a studio version. (But also, Louis, if you’re reading this, first of all GET OUT OF MY BLOG second of all, please don’t ever feel pressured again to add a song to the album because we have already heard it before. It’s your art and it should always be under your own terms).
So yeah, I believe that Copy is either one of those four songs (then imagine the other three??!!) or was written around the 1st of October date.
---End of the Intermission---
Then not much important (other than sharing more about Marcus Rashford fight against food poverty and the 2nd merch drop) until he announced the livestream on the 24th of November. (x)
It wasn’t until a few days before the livestream date we even thought again about new music (jk, I know we’re always thinking about new Louis’ music). So, December 9th/10th, 2020. Nine months ago. We got our first taste of new music!
He made sure we knew Copy of a Copy of a Copy isn't a cover! (x) (x)
Tumblr media
(x)
Ok, so that’s it for 2020. (I feel like I’m missing something from September 17th because tweet was deleted but maybe he was still talking about cucumbers. We might never know. Unless I understand how Tumblr tags work). Expected, cause Walls was released in 2020. We needed to let it sit for a while.
2021
Another Summary: Louis third tweet of the year was telling the UK government off. So was the fifth. What a good beginning. On the 26th of January, he said he prefers pancakes over waffles. I hope he meant pancakes other than his own. More importantly, he tweeted the infamous “you lot read into things too much”. Don’t get me started, Tomlinson. Don’t. Then the 31st came around and Walls was one. He tweeted this. How wise. And Project Defenceless happened!!
15th of February!! Who cares about Valentine Day when the next day we got this? ♥

Tumblr media
(x)
So…AN EP?? AN EP?? PLEASE RELEASE AN EP.
“I’m sure I will have something out this year but unlikely that will be the album”. Unlikely but not impossible. Also. A single would be good. This is the second time he mentions releasing something in 2021 and he sounds surer about it than the first time around.
He also said that he isn’t sure we will get a studio version of Copy. And that the best bridges from Walls to LT2 are Walls, OTB, KMM and Copy. Can’t wait!
Then we jump to March 6th when he announced he was going to create his own management company. “Sometimes action is needed first to encourage the motivation and belief”. As we can tell he was already manifesting some stuff which will lead us to the numerology stuff/Tesla… kidding. Or not. We might never know.
On the 22nd of March he answered some questions:
He told us music was still his main focus ♥ mwha. (x) I included this tweet to guilt-trip him into giving us music in case he’s reading this even after I told him to leave. ILY.
(x) I’d love to get a visual EP this autumn. Just saying. It sounds like a lovely concept.
Tumblr media
(x)
…next (I will get into it, I promise. I’m just mad).
On the 25th he left for Mexico until April 10th. You could assume it was just for the documentary where we got ten seconds of footage or admit the obvious: LT2 its a Mexican baby!!
On the 26th (so, not so far apart from that first 369) we got the first Faith in the Future mention: (x)
Back then we were innocent people who had no idea what was coming upon us. We still have no idea because what the fuck does he mean with these. Please explain. I have one braincell and I don’t use it enough for this. I’m linking some theories.
On the 30th of March he confirmed he was already working on the documentary. So AFHF was already on the works. Will it take this long for us to get the Veeps numbers? We also got this tweet: "Got a decent chorus idea down" (x).
Same person that got the “something out this year” exclusive. If you know something share with the class. Also. Is this Change? I feel like this could be Change but I also assume he wrote Change after hanging out with his friends or being in Doncaster. But who knows.
(x) And the second mention to 369.
(x) 15th of April. The second "Faith in the future".
On the 19th of April he announced that he had something BIG for us later on the year which turned out to be the Away From Home Festival ♥♥ (x) I love him so much.
Then on the 28th he announced the 369 merch drop (which it’s probably the Walls drop? Except that the TOU and KMM ones were “drop 1 and drop 2” and this was drop 369 which, again, makes no sense) but we still don’t know what 369 means.
Into May’ 21 we go.
He rescheduled tour again. And dropped another bomb (x).
He announced he has signed with BMG as an independent artist by RTing this tweet on May 10th. The article also says that he’s already working on writing and recording LT2. The timing… we don’t know. What this deal involves… we don’t know either. Bear with me here because I have a lot to say about this.
I think the deal is only a distribution one, but that BMG are interested in Louis and what he (us) could bring to the table. They were either present at the festival or watching it, but officially they had no involvement at all with it (everything is credited either to Louis own company, 78 Productions, or Charlie Lightening’s company). That’s the case for both giveaways too; the vinyl one and the tickets for the festival.
I think it would be an unbelievably bad move not to test the waters with BMG now or soon-ish. At least a single, to see how it performs. Due to the circumstances, it’s obvious there’re certain limitations on place but I want to see how they push it, whether the radio play exist this time around and if the song is playlisted and promoted and all that… I would also love to know, since it says he signed with BMG UK, but it also states it’s a global deal, how things are going to go on the US and other countries.
Yes, yes. I know those are all questions and no answers. But I know the same as you, sadly. If any of you know more than you’re letting on… again, share with the class.
Where was I? Yes, on the 25th of May Louis had a great day writing (x). Since the first time he had mentioned he was officially writing to this date there’s almost eight months. And I believe he was writing before October’ 20.
He followed Robert Harvey that day and, on the 28th of May (why is it always the 28th???) he was spotted at the studio for the first time.
June was an interesting month for the fandom ♥. Lots of LHL content which I will love and cherish for the rest of times. On June 4th, June 9th, and June 10th he was spotted at the studio, but I believe he was there more days.
Tumblr media
(x)
This was posted on June 6th and captioned Studio. Charlie also shared it with “Mega tunes being put down, can’t wait for this @louist91 #louistomlinson #LT2” as the caption. This gives me 2019 (Elton-Joint) vibes. I like it. Feels like we’re getting closer to something.
He added the Milano date on the 9th too which I’m mentioning because I’m going alone. Anyone wanna go with me please? I’m nice and I never eat anything before a concert so you can have my food. On other news. It didn’t come home.
During July he was at the studio at least three days too. Probably more. Feels like more with all the fan pictures we got. Or was that June? Anyway, July 1st and 9th we got some videos from Robert Harvey and wearesuperhi, which is who Louis has been working with the most, that we know of. I don’t know for sure they’re from that day. And on July 5th we got an article and lots of pictures of Louis looking really good outside the studio.
On the 12th of July the first fans started getting the free, 369 bucket hat and print. We still don’t know what the purpose was other than to thanks fans. Maybe that was it. I want answers and I still think it relates to a future project (see theories above), but it could also just be a bridge with the Walls breaking.
He didn’t tweet about anything interesting for a while, mostly because he lost his phone (he either throwed it in the air or smashed it who knows). Then on the 29th of July he announced the festival!
I’m glossing over it because there’s already been a lot of talk about it (rightfully) and while it was a wonderful thing, it doesn’t have much to do with LT2.
Let’s talk Change!
On August 3rd he tweeted this about the setlist.
Tumblr media
(x)
And this (x) on the 28th! I can’t stand him.
We didn’t get it, obviously. Because who was going to get that. But we read too much into things. Alright.
On the 16thof August Dave Gibson shared this post tagged #LT2 with the eyes emojis 👀👀👀. I believe this has to do both with Change but also with whatever else came out of that Mexico trip.
Tumblr media
(x) Last relevant tweet related to LT2 is this one.
So, on the 30th of August we got Change and we cried, and we know that Change is going in the new album. He said it. With those exact words. He also said he was “getting a feeling for it”. This has to meant he already has a general idea of the vibe of the new album and what’s going in it!!!!!! (Right? RIGHT?).
Anyway, let’s go back a few weeks because some other things happened on August. He was at the studio a few more times. Or it was suggested that he was there. On the 17th and the 18th. (Why was it so time-pressing to be at the studio instead of rehearsing for the festival? There was no studio at all on the documentary. Which makes sense, but again, then why?).
On the day of the festival we got another mention of Faith in The Future that made me feel part of a cult ngl. The words were flashing on the screen for less than a second. Okay.
And then he tweeted those words again after watching the livestream/documentary on the 4th of September (x). This is what makes me suspect it's either the name of the album or of the single.
On the same day, we got some interesting quotes about LT2 on the documentary.
“Soon I’ll have to think about me second album, which in my head I’ll get the tour out of the way and then I’ll address that. So, I hadn’t really given it much thought, to be honest”.
“When every day is the same is hard to feel creative and it’s hard to have any kind of proper inspiration”.
“As season started to come back, I started writing again and it was great and some of these songs turned out alright”.
And I think this is it. I might be overlooking some important details but that’s what we know and what we don’t know.
So. Conclusions. That’s what you missed on Glee. I do believe the album is, if not mostly done, partially there. And yes, this post is pointless and never-ending but it’s all in here if you need to tell Louis “Hey, you said this, mate”.

Hi! I hope you’ll answer this question bc it bothers me quite a lot.. https://www.quora.com/What-does-it-mean-now-that-BTS-are-partial-owners-of-Big-Hit-Entertainment do you think it is true what the second person (Christine Herman) said? After reading this, i started to wonder…what if BTS does really have only profit in mind while doing new projects these days? Maybe they don’t really care anymore about creative and meaningful lyrics and sound? With Butter and PTD…all this generic music sung in English. Of course they say “we wanted to make fans feel good”, “butter and ptd represent who we are” and all these things fans want to hear but.. do you really think it’s true? moreover, don’t get me wrong, i don’t find product placement in their reality shows as something terrible, i believe this is a normal thing, however, nowadays the members really film ads and do marketing a lot. so yeah, for some reason i began to question their integrity dhsjjss i hope you will understand from where my concerns come from and won’t find this ask stupid sjdjjdjd
After reading that persons answer I can immediately tell you that I basically don't agree with an overwhelming majority of what she said (even more so since a lot of it just makes her sound like a manti that hates the company and basically would want them to make music for free or something). Generally I don’t agree with most of the opinions this person holds, and also Quora really isn’t a good source for info or good opinions, most of it is written by mantis, haters, and toxic shippers with an agenda so most ARMY will tell you to stay as far away from that website as possible.
Anyway, her focus in that answer was on money, since BTS are shareholders (and how that’s a conflict of interest despite other artists doing the exact thing but no one really cares or ever thinks about it), but what she failed to consider and note was that Big Hit Music, so BTS' label, isn't part of HYBE in the sense that shareholding has no baring on it since BHM is private. So while BTS profit off of HYBE doing well, and have a small percentage of a voice as shareholders, that has nothing to do with BHM in the classical sense, even if BHM's earnings reflect well on HYBE numbers and the shareholder money.
BHM was made private to ensure their artistry would remain untouched, that was the whole point of that.
Even if they weren't HYBE shareholders, take Namjoon as example. He has more than 170 KOMCA credits, is among the top 3 Korean artists with the most credits and is also the youngest of them all. It is said that his earnings from that alone can sustain his family for 3 generations over. Look at Hobi and Chicken Noodle Soup, that song was a hit and he paid the original creator of that song 2 million dollars upfront and earned a lot back due to how successful it was. Same goes for Hope World which, again, was and is still immensely successful. Look at Yoongi and his work both as prod. SUGA, featuring artist SUGA, and as Agust D, as well as the credits he holds for his work on BTS songs (giving him as well a total of over 100 KOMCA credits, just like Hobi). Bangtan have worked and continue to work extremely hard for their music, put their heart and souls into it, and it shows even if their style changed as they grew older and more mature.
Yes, money is a major motivator, but looking at the above paragraph, do you really peg the members as these corrupt money hungry sellouts with no music related integrity? Who would need to sign major deals and would throw away their passion to just release empty shells of music for the sole reason of money? Am I naive enough to believe that they don't care about money? Of course not, we live in a capitalist society and even if BTS wouldn't care about money anymore at this point, HYBE very much does, and yet still I can't find it in me to agree with any of what was said in that answer that person wrote.
More below the cut:
And that point about how Hyundai cars were sold out because of BTS, isn't that the point why literally any company ever hires celebrities to advertise and endorse their product? And sure, again, I'm certain they earned a lot on these deals, they aren't the first or last or only ones in the history of ever to do so. Besides, look at JK and what he's done for small companies, or Tae who wore a brooch made my a small creator at the airport which catapulted that creator into the eyes of millions of ARMYs enough so that they could move to a proper studio and earn money with their work. Or the modern hanboks JK wore which led to the brand being able to move into actual stores in malls because of their sudden new popularity and demand. Or him wearing a bracelet that helps whales with a percentage of the money from the sales of said bracelet. And for all of that JK and Tae didn't earn any money at all. JK himself said that he's more conscious of the brand he wears now because he wants to help smaller businesses in these trying times, not because they pay him to do so (especially since they would never be able to afford that), but because he's aware of the influence he has and how he can use it to help others. Sound very much like a capitalistic villain, right?
As for the product placement bit, have you been on YouTube recently? Have you noticed that many, if not most, YouTube videos by “bigger” creators (and by that I mean even people who are around the 100k subscriber mark) begin with them thanking whoever sponsored that particular video and give you a scripted minute to two minute long ad before getting into the actual topic of the video? And In The SOOP featuring Chilsung Cider, FILA clothes and the random mention of how good Samsung phones are isn’t much different from it, though really, if you’re not someone interested in fashion much, would you really notice or care that they wore FILA? It’s just...clothes? If it weren’t a BTS related show, would you even notice it much? And it’s not even like they mentioned those brands every five minutes or anything, just a few times, which sure sounded a bit out of place at times, but personally I thought it was easy to look past. That’s just how things work nowadays and it’s odd for people to behave like somehow BTS are the first and only ones to use product placements despite literally every movie and show doing it in subtle and less so manners.
The answer by that person you sent also mentioned the Hyundai song for their car IONIQ and, unsurprisingly, that person wrote it off as just some commercial jingle but I’d actually disagree with that. Not to sound like a Hyundai and Samsung stan, which I am neither of, but I actually think those two knew best how to utilize the artist they have spent millions on signing a deal with. Hyundai didn’t just write them off as pretty faces with a millions strong fan army behind them and that’s it, they remembered that they are musicians so they gave them a song and made a whole music video for it as well. And say what you will, it is a good song. Then, just a few days ago, Samsung stepped up their game and we were given Over The Horizon Prod by SUGA of BTS. For those who aren’t Samsung users, Over The Horizon is their signature ringtone and basically their company sound, and over the years different artists were asked to make their own version of it. And this time they reached out to Yoongi and asked if he’d like to do it as well. It’s kind of a big deal. Sure, Butter is used in one of their commercials much the way Dynamite was last year, but that’s beside the point. Would that person make the same claim about Imagine Dragons whose song Believer is also part of the ads for the new Samsung phones? I have my doubts.
Furthermore, and I don't want this to come across as mean toward you but, I think it is uncalled for to question their artistic integrity based on a total of 3 (three) English songs when last year alone we received 50+ songs, most of which were in Korean, among them the entirety of BE which was, according to the members, the album they were most involved in ever when it comes to both music and everything around it.
You can dislike their English songs, that’s more than fine, they have a very extensive discography you can listen to instead, but questioning their integrity based on them doing something that most, if not every, artist on their level does (as in sign ad deals with brands etc) is a bit much if you ask me. Does that mean indie artists whose songs get picked up for commercials (or for Netflix shows or movies) and thus it catapults them into the mainstream are also just money hungry people with no integrity and ones who don’t care about their music? Or is that, again, just a standard Bangtan is held to (as in that their integrity is questioned based on everything, even the most trivial/normal things) that only applies to them and no one else?
In the recent Weverse Magazine article about how Permission to Dance came to be there is a lot of talk about not only that song but also Butter and Dynamite, among the things being discussed and talked about they mentioned how the original lyrics for Butter were much more materialistic but that the members didn't like that so they asked for that to be changed. Likewise the original lyrics for Permission to Dance, as you'd expect from the penmanship of Ed Sheeran, were much more romantic, almost proposal like, which wasn't what the members wanted either so it was, again, adjusted in a way that would fit what they, as well as the A&R team, wanted. While you may not like these songs, they still had a say in them to a certain degree, could say yes or no and ask for adjustments. Why else would PTD take eight months?
While they might outsource their English songs, their main focus, so their Korean (as well as Japanese) discography is still centered around them, their lyrics, their songs, their sound. Of course you’ll also find outside producers and some lyricists on those as well, because that’s how music works these days, as in collaboratively, that doesn’t change anything at large. Their integrity is still very much there, their hearts are still in it, what other reason would any of them have to say that they want to continue for a long time, for Yoongi to say they want to figure out how to make their career last as long as possible, for JK to say that he wants to sing forever?
Admin 2 also wanted me to add that in their opinion, to a certain degree (though not fully of course), their English songs are like a way to laugh at and expose how shallow the English-centric music industry is. As in, while they made music in Korean with deep and meaningful lyrics, the US industry didn’t care but once they switched to easy to listen to sound with easy to understand English lyrics, they suddenly paid attention, are played on the radio, and even received a Grammy nomination which they wouldn’t have gotten for a Korean song ( A1: regardless how much Black Swan or Spring Day really would’ve deserved it...).
