Why I think Hellbeetle is an adorable ship although it’s so rare and I want more people to see my vision.

I don’t mind it being rare and to be honest it has its perks but this is my manifesto.

1. They hated each other at first.

Rather it was about Eddie feeling replaced or ignored in his friend group, his hatred for Jaime grew slowly and slowly over time. Especially when it came to Rose finding interest in Jaime over Eddie, him having a crush on Rose and it rubbing him the wrong way. Although, people tell him over and over that if he just talked to Jaime then they’re sure they’ll get along and even become close immediately but Eddie refuses to accept this.

2. Scarab bonuses (1)

Because of Eddie’s high body temperature the scarab can find Eddie somewhat easily and track where he is and I think that is so adorable to think about.

3. There is a whole issue entirely about their hate for each other and blooming friendship which is the gayest thing to me.

Throughout the entire issue it talks about how Eddie irrationally hates Jaime when he’s done nothing to him, and it irritates him. They end up finding common ground to be able to track down a bad guy and prove to their teammates they’re more than goofballs and valuable teammates. This also means they have similar struggles which is so cute.

So when everything is said and done, they start over and become friends on a better note.

4. Undiagnosed telepathy. They always weirdly know what each other is thinking and that is so cute to me.

(This is shown more times than just here and throughout their entire relationship they share the same braincell.)

5. They get established as a duo, they are ALWAYS right next to each other constantly in almost every panel where they’re both in it.

6. Scarab bonuses (2).

I imagine that Eddie’s body is extremely hot, especially around his mouth and eyes so if he were to kiss someone, it would probably scorch them. Khaji Da would not like that Jaime would actively be pained when around Eddie if they were to display affection. That is so cute to me.

7. Making up a little nickname for Jaime.

I’m sorry, bug butt is such an adorable pet name for someone, especially Jaime and immediately Eddie starts to call him this and so often that other people like Jaime’s friends seem to catch on and EVEN joke about it’s flirty nature. This is sealed in the bag for me, to be honest.

8. When it comes to Eddie’s bigger secrets, he decides to tell Jaime first before anyone and Jaime tells him that he cares and even takes off his armor so he can be more vulnerable with him because he knows Eddie lost his powers too.

9. They have more content compared to most of their ships.

Jaime’s most popular ship is Bluepulse which doesn’t function outside of the Young Justice universe. Eddie’s most popular ship is JayEddie probably because Jason is a bat boy but they have like two interactions.

Meanwhile these two were big parts of each others lives and established so much chemistry with one another.

Even Eddie’s supposed love interest was not around nearly as much as Jaime.

I also realize that Jaime fans literally don’t have any like ships really so maybe you guys will like this. I wish he had more ships too.

10. They get formatted like the “other couple” and that’s just shipping fodder to me.

They also go on a dinner date. I’m so serious they go on a Dinner date and sit across from each other and chat/have a good time whilst also being formatted like the other couple which is literally just a date to me.

11. When Eddie thinks his life might be over, the last thing he thinks about is Jaime’s laugh. I wish I was kidding.

12. When Eddie passes, it starts to become painful for Jaime to gear up with the scarab and I’m not sure why but it felt like it had something to do with his feelings as a hero and how he was greiving.

13. Beyond Teen Titans Vol.3 Eddie shows up in Blue Beetle (2006) Issue 33 so they writers care enough to add him.

14. They also are together in a holiday special. 15. Aesthetics. They have a red and blue color palate meaning they contrast in a way aesthetically when they are together. Red and Blue has been a cherished duo for years. Red Devil, Blue Beetle. Also, the fact that they are both anthropomorphic based heroes in a way also helps.

In conclusion, I know this was a rare ship once upon a time that people talked about like years ago and no matter how rare it is I refuse to stop talking about them even if I get no interactions because I love Jaime and I love Eddie and I love them together.

This was such an interesting ask! A shame I took so long to answer haha.

Knowing Brienne first would mean following her through much of her journey, at least when Catlyn tasked her with taking the Kingslayer to King's Landing. If you're a lady, she's exceptionally protective. It helps if you're also a fighter, so she doesn't have to defend you as much, but she won't complain. She swore to protect you as well, and she always will. She won't fault you for not being as strong or capable as her; rather, she appreciates your loyalty and company immensely.

Jaime would be the one who was always teasing you. He's got a mess of a relationship with Cersei, so the idea that he actually liked someone else may get him defensive. He'll tease you like boys do, even when you're both grown - especially if you can fight. You know how he constantly mocks Brienne, yet respects her, and he's so bone-headed about that admiration? Yup.

And of course, you're most likely to end up around both of them during the Roadtrip From Hell. Brienne is even more protective of you because of Jaime, and Jaime is actually jealous of your supposed closeness to her. There starts to be several situations where they each expect you to take a side, especially since they're on literal opposite sides of the war.

(Note if you never knew Jaime but know Brienne, Jaime can't believe he's stuck with two stubborn, annoying women. If you knew Jaime but not Brienne, she tries to reason with you and often scolds Jaime for not looking after you well enough).

And just like Jaime and Brienne are pretty damn oblivious to their feelings for each other, they're oblivious to how they feel about you... except.

Brienne absolutely giving Jaime a talking to about being "proper" with you (regardless if you're a lady or not), watching his tongue around you, getting flustered and angry when he talks about your looks or virtue ...

and Jaime constantly bugging Brienne to let you have fun for once, always trying to annoy you and get your attention, being surprisingly gentle with you (only to do something asshole-y an hour later), lowkey making sure you're eating and sleeping enough...

Yes, they're both hopeless. This is even more ridiculous if they like each other in addition to you. You might actually have the only braincell in this trio.

Brienne would be the one to realize you and Jaime's feelings first, and she'd be willing to "step aside", even if it hurts. She doesn't believe for a second that you or Jaime would pick her. On the other hand, Jaime selfishly wants you both for himself (ha) but he's certainly in denial about it. Whenever you and Brienne are being sweet and affectionate to each other, he gets both a powerful yearning and jealousy.

(Seriously, you will have to be the braincell until everyone is on the same page).

You'd likely be the glue who helps them realize that they're a good team and they care for each other, and they have more ideals in common than they think!

They're both also very protective - again, it doesn't matter if you're a capable fighter. Does not matter. If you're upset or threatened, you have two incredibly talented knights right at your side, glaring the person down and daring them to say something (yes, even after Jaime loses his hand. He don't care). You also bring out different sides of them. You get to see Jaime's more vulnerable and softer side, and you get all of Brienne's affection and love she's always wanted to give but no one wanted to have. You're absolutely spoiled and cared for!

thoughts on the first two episodes of got s8

it’s honestly really annoying how they seem to have forgotten that jon bent the knee entirely out of his own volition, that dany was perfectly willing to help the north fight the white walkers without having them bend the knee. the northerners’ ire towards dany is understandable, but fundamentally it was jon’s fault for making such a major decision so impulsively.

he so clearly does not want to be king of anything, i’m honestly surprised dany’s reaction to finding out about r+l was about the threat he posed to her throne. he’s already given up a crown for you bb, he’s not gonna try to make a pass for the iron throne all of a sudden.

the r+l revelation was underwhelming

i feel for sam. i really do. and he has every right to hate dany. but dany was not wrong in burning the tarlys (if we’re going with the established social framework). jon killed plenty of people for disobeying him, has killed plenty of people in battle. the main difference is that we never met those people’s likeable children. so miss me with that dany hate.

dany’s character is honestly all over the place. half the time she’s sweet and bubbly, but then she’ll change in less than a second to be this cold, ruthless queen. and no, i don’t think it’s build up to “mad queen dany”, i think d&d don’t know how to write her consistently and need her to act in certain ways to keep drama going

speaking of drama, i love sansa but jfc….. where’s the girl who said “courtesy is a woman’s armor”? sansa played nice with littlefinger and cersei for seasons, but all of a sudden she doesn’t seem to remember that playing the game means making friends of your enemies. if a queen that your brother has sworn your people to (despite doing it messily as all hell) comes to your castle with dragons to fight your common enemy, it might be a good idea to be at least courteous? being rude is helping absolutely no one. and she certainly has the right to not like dany, but she’s not being particularly smart about how she’s dealing with dany.

this is honestly because of the writing and plotting. sansa’s being played as making smart political decisions and that’s the takeaway you’re supposed to have, but d&d just haven’t truly thought the politics through.

that said, i did really like their scene together in 8x02. it was actually a decent portrayal of two powerful women with different yet equally understandable motivations. 

i’ve been deeply annoyed with jon since season six but i gotta give him credit where credit is due and say at least he’s got his priorities in check. deal with the night king, then politics.

every time they call jon “aegon” i die inside a little bit

needs more ghost. unless they intend to kill ghost in a battle scene. in which case, don’t even let ghost be on screen!!

all the bran memes are hilarious but goddamn i really hate robo!bran. what a butchery of a character who i really do care about.

tyrion trusting cersei was truly the dumbest choice they could’ve made for his character

theon’s hair looks good! unfortunately the lannisters all have terrible wigs

theon and sansa surprised me, but it has actual build up and it’s the only relationship (with a male, living character) that i can get behind for her. bonding over shared trauma and healing together is my kinda trope

i have mixed feelings about gendry x arya. it was definitely rushed, although that was rather what they were going for (end of the world and all that). seeing arya partially naked…. idk, it’s weird to see a character who has been on the show since she was eleven have a sex scene, even if she is an adult now. i honestly think they should’ve just cut the scene before the nudity, to avoid that weirdness. especially given d&d’s track record with women and nudity.

although it is nice to see them letting arya display more emotions beyond just “assassin”

missandei and grey worm are cute and i love them and i’m p sure he’s gonna die. which i do not want. please don’t kill one of your two black characters, it’d be a real dick move d&d

every time a northerner looks at them, my hackles just go up. stop being racist and leave them alone jfc

ser brienne!!!! she’s so happy and i’m so happy for her and ahhhhhhhh

everyone except dany is in pretty much full black and i hate!!! this!!! wear some color ffs

overall it’s been kind of a mess but mostly fun

predictions for the rest of the season:

who was the dumbass who thought putting the noncombatants in the crypts with a bunch of stark corpses in full armor was a good idea??? my theory that westeros has a total of maybe five braincells has yet to be disproved.

no one in the crypts is safe next ep and i am Worried.

unless the show seriously deviates from the books, jaime is killing cersei. not looking forward to it tbh.

there is a decent chance that winterfell is gonna burn and i am not ready Emotionally.

characters that are gonna die: cersei, euron, qyburn, zombie!gregor, jon, grey worm, night king

characters that are probably gonna die but i’m not sure: theon, dany, jaime, jorah, melisandre (if she’s still around?), all three dragons (and possibly ghost but nooooo)

characters that are most likely gonna survive: sansa, arya, sam, yara, gendry

characters that i hope will live but might die for pointless shock value: gilly, missandei, brienne, podrick, lyanna mormont

characters i have no clue about: varys, tyrion, bran, davos, bronn, tormund, dolorous edd

my hope is that the show ends with the iron throne melted down and seven independent kingdoms. thematically, that’d be the most satisfying. i don’t trust d&d with themes tho so we’ll see.

so far it seems like next ep is gonna be the Big Epic Battle where they defeat the night king, then the last three eps are about dealing with cersei and picking up the pieces. idk how i feel about this, since it kinda frames cersei as the Big Bad. we’ll see how it ends up.
