And it has been three years. Three entire years-you are still the age you were when you left. For you it has been a couple of hours, while everyone you knew grew older. While they lost hope and grieved and moved on.

Three years. Was it worth it?

Big fan of when a character's grief/trauma/guilt manifests as physical symptoms. Big fan of characters keeping things so tight inside them that it makes them sick. Big fan of when the line blurs between a character's mental trauma and physical illness until it's hard to tell which is which anymore.

eadwulf grieve my one and only. he’s bisexual. he has zero agency in the story. he appears like three times and all of those times he’s either following orders or being prevented from following orders. he’s the least favorite in the polycule. he’s the guy you think of when you think of ‘goon’. he’s a character basically tailor made to die but somehow survives to the end of the story by virtue of no one giving a shit about him. he has a homoerotic pvp against the guy his ex has been using as a stand in for him and then tries and fails to flirt with said guy. hes religious. he wears a big amulet with the symbol of a god and a smaller secret amulet to another god underneath. he stumbled his way into diplomatic immunity by being so hot that two incredibly powerful people can’t quite get over him. he’s so irrelevant you almost forget he canonically strangled his parents to death. he doesn’t know what a firbolg is. he’s even a wizard

still i think the one of the more fun differences drawn between illario and lucanis that was lost would be illario's ability to endear himself to others but serious lack of empathy, vs. lucanis' (self perceived) inability to be charming but how much he cares. it's interesting that the game has gone with the "lucanis' ability vs illario's lack thereof" because i think illario being the dellamorte 'best in show dog' vs. lucanis' attack dog would have made me so unwell.

lucanis is... awkward. he's not unlikable, because he is usually very polite, but he doesn't speak much and only seems to care about the other dellamortes. he once sent viago de riva a knife with no note (who knows what he could have meant by this). he does what caterina asks of him, and by his own admission, cannot say no to her. he is a dramatic and prolific killer, and that makes how untouchable he is even worse.

and the crows like illario, sure, AND he's a good assassin! he's even a good crow! he's so good that he can make lucanis smile, and so he is the charming, sociable one. he's the one that stays in treviso and can be relied upon to care, illario's even the one people prefer over caterina and lucanis!

but illario is decoration. he's the prize poodle, and even if poodles were bred to be working dogs, nobody will ever pick him to protect the house over the german shepherd that regularly mauls intruders. anyways the analogy is getting away from me. the point i'm trying to make is that i want illario to have a different kind of jealousy/hatred that's not just over 'being bad at killing' but also an arrogant loathing for everyone around him that is getting harder to hide, because they've forgotten he can bite and is just itching to rip someone's jugular out. illario is very good at hiding his family resemblance to caterina, while lucanis suffers under his grandmother's, and his own, reputation.

Thinking about Krile.

Krile, who woke up one day from a coma to find that she was alone in the world. Who lost her home, her colleagues, her friends, the legacy of her grandfather, all in an instant. Who found out that the gift that she'd cursed for half her life saved her, and no one else. Who thought that maybe, at least her childhood friend and her dearest friend, both in distant Eorzea, might be safe and alive. Who received nothing but silence from either of them. And found out one day, months later, years later, that neither of them were ever coming back.

Krile, who continued on more alone in the world than ever before with nothing but a smile.

(Krile, who we didn't even get to see take a moment to hear about or process the fact that G'raha shut himself in a tower to sleep maybe forever without so much as a goodbye.)

(Krile, who learned that her dearest friend Minfilia was gone forever and simply carried on with a smile because there was work to be done. Much like Minfilia carried on with a smile when she heard her dearest friend Krile was in a coma. Because there was work to do. And to think, Minfilia never got to find out that Krile was all right.)

Y’know, I think the saddest part about hearing of Bobs passing was the fact that the last time he was seen alive was 3 weeks ago and that his body was so badly decomposed, like really no one came to check up on him?? I don’t know much about his family but seriously no one thought it was odd for him to drop off the face of the earth for almost a month???

Obviously I am aware of his actions in the past and his current political views and in no way condone any of them, however he was still a human, a very influential human no less, with a phenomenal talent for drumming, and to hear that it took that long for people to find him is truly devastating.

I’ve only seen two videos of people celebrating his death but the fact that people are celebrating in the first place is disgusting, hate him all you want but celebrating is sick.
