same anon lol. follow up from my previous ask (I started thinking about oz and the original team more):

augh. Thinking about laurent genuinely trying to connect with makoto and failing. Thinking about him watching abbie and cynthia connect with makoto effortlessly, and feeling left out. Thinking about him talking to oz about it, and realising that oz knows nothing about makoto at all. laurent getting angry, because even he knows makoto better, and suddenly feels responsible for him. imagining laurent blaming oz, blaming shi-won because they "made" him this way, even though by now he's responsible for his own actions. I'm imagining shi-won specifically calling him out on this, because she's been there the longest. how even though he suffered, at some point he has to accept that his decisions were his own. and that arguably, makoto was put through far, far worse things than he was.

laurent empathising with makoto more and more and starting to feel kind of angry on his behalf, but realising that by now there's very little he can do... he can resent the remaining members of the original team confidence all he wants, but they've been so good to him. they're old friends but they're also walking wounds. he can blame shi-won for teaching dorothy, for bringing him to dorothy. he can blame oz for giving him makoto to work with. he can blame them, but it's not going to change anything. shi-won at least stuck by his side, so she's easier to forgive. oz is harder to forgive, even if he gave up everything for dorothy, for laurent. laurent is splitting hairs here, because he still blames them less than he blames himself.

I think once laurent has this realisation, he doesn't really know what to do with himself. he still does cons and stuff because he probably feels like anything else would be boring, but I think he now kind of wants to shoot oz (not shi-won, because like I said, her sticking directly by his side all those years makes it easier for him to "forgive" her). he gives himself reasons to hurt oz in these cons because he doesn't know when to quit a bad habit when he's spiralling. oz notices, but he doesn’t say anything. he does whatever laurent asks of him, because he's right. I don't think oz feels bad for laurent, however (I think he just feels bad for makoto at this point, because he's already processed most of his grief and self-loathing regarding miki).

I think oz is the type of person to mask his loneliness. he probably cares about laurent the same way two people in a jail cell care about each other. he does whatever laurent asks of him almost like a peace offering, because he's used to just playing whatever role people ask of him without question. he probably doesn't know who he is anymore, and he probably doesn't care. he'll just follow whatever laurent says because the memories he made with team confidence stick to him like old wallpaper, and he can't bring himself to peel them off. he traded one life for another, and he lost both of them.

unlike them, I imagine shi-won already made peace with her demons long ago. there's a reason she told kudo to just let his daughter go. there's a reason why she didn't get an arc to herself. I don't think she feels bad that they're going through this, but she probably tries to distract them once in a while because the one-sided tension between them is annoying to deal with.

Anyway Eugene really is so genuine and earnest that sometimes he says the most romantic shit to Ophelia and has no idea until he see's her blushing and it's adorable cuz like they ofc take a bit to get together for real but Eugene is absolutely accidentally flirting with her all the time and it's not even really an accident he very much means what he says he just didn't mean to say it so openly

and you KNOW this shit annoys Sasha, I mean at first they find it very funny but after a few months of Ophelia being like "okay maaaaybe I like him but there's no way he likes me" they are banging their head against the wall like "Ophelia despite you eventually giving him permission to listen to your old music recordings he refused because he knows that makes you uncomfortable AND he said, and I quote, "already gets to hear the sound of your voice every day and that's more than enough" I'm pretty sure he's fucking in love with you"

like literally Eugene is out there being so bad at hiding his feelings saying shit like "The color of your hair reminds me of the ocean, I always catch myself looking at yo- I mean it, uh, your hair- haha a-anyway it's beautiful that's all" and "Sorry if I take too many pictures of you, I'll stop if you want...I just like to save things that are important to me" and "My favorite part of the morning is when you wake up. What’s your thoughts on Eli ever from vicious?

oh man, eli’s my favourite from the villains series! i think he’s a really interesting, layered character and it’s tragic that this series’ fandom seems determined to misunderstand him because he’s like, a bad person or whatever.

(of course he’s a bad person, lol. they’re all bad people, what books are you reading. why are we having this conversation about a book that opens with a quote about life being a battle between bad and worse, not good and evil. fuck me, man.)

i really like the almost bait & switch schwab pulls with vic and eli, where it’s initially set up as a classic revenge story with victor as the wronged party and eli as the betrayer, but then you actually learn what happened and it’s like... 

actually, eli genuinely cared about victor, and still refers to vic as his best friend when he talks to serena, years later. eli’s conflicted and traumatised and full of self-loathing. eli picks the name ever because he doesn’t want to be forgotten, but the line’s not written like an arrogant, self-important thing. when he tells victor this, he says it softly, like he’s genuinely afraid! oh, eli.

eli’s the tragic one with the sympathetic awful backstory. victor’s the one who’s an asshole kinda just because. i think that’s genuinely neat writing, and also hilarious. 

i love the kind of duality of eli being outwardly so sure of his Cause, never faltering in his crusade, holding on to his faith so tightly (and his faith is genuine; i hate the argument that he’s using it as an ‘excuse’; but that’s an essay topic on its own), but at the same time feeling so fragile and barely held together. eli’s always feeling SO MUCH but never quite the right thing at the right time.

drives me nuts that people constantly attribute this bit to victor’s narration, because it’s such an eli thing. he was scared of that rift. a few pages after this, of course, eli goes back to his and vic’s apartment for the first time after Everything, and he breaks down and cries, and tries to kill himself. for a moment, the gap between what he should feel and what he felt snapped shut.

i think that kind of constant conflict and turmoil is so central to eli’s character, and so interesting in contrast to victor who really doesn’t experience any particular guilt or doubt re: his actions. (hilarious reminder that victor doesn’t give a fuck about the morality of eli’s murder spree, he’s just annoyed because he thinks eli’s motive is boring.)

i won’t go into vengeful here bc several of my Treasured Mutuals haven’t read it, but the constant thread of eli not quite being able to divest himself of the things that make him human, even when he’s so obviously inhuman.... love it. 

also just in general, i really enjoy characters who do horrifying things out the fervent sincere belief that they’re necessary for the greater good, AND characters whose stories deal with the themes of performing a certain identity, putting on a mask, etc. and there’s lots of that with eli in both books.

Chemistry Between the Dorm Leaders and a Hero-Inspired S/O— (pt.1)

After that Snow White request, I had a small idea... so here are headcanons for each dorm leader with an s/o inspired by the heroes of their respective films. I had some hesitation with both Vil and Leona, since their heroes are the Evil Queen’s stepdaughter and Scar’s nephew respectively... I could get past the Snow White one bc Vil’s so different from the Evil Queen, but the Simba one weirded me out too much ;; so I substituted him for Nala. Sorry !!

Of course, this is disregarding the original characters’ ages and assuming they’re all students at Night Raven, in the same dorm as their villain. Please let me know if there’s a problem with anything though !!

Idia, Leona, and Malleus will come in a second post.

Riddle & Alice

I remember Alice as a bratty, opinionated girl who is dissatisfied with her normal life and prefers to escape to her imagination. Very stubborn, but also very sensible. Pairing these traits with Riddle’s hotheadedness and severe need to keep things under his command, I don’t think they would make a very good match. Alice constantly rolls her eyes at all of his decisions, and blatantly refuses to listen to him if she doesn’t agree with what he says.

It would be extremely difficult for these two to even tolerate each other. Alice sticks out to Riddle because she’s the only one who doesn’t fear him—but that might not be a good thing. He develops a “You will fear me, you will obey me” type mindset, to which she responds with an unimpressed, “Oh, really?”

Riddle gets so fed up with her that he marches down to Headmaster Crowley and demands that Alice be relocated to a different dorm—“She’d be great for Pomefiore, with all the other stuck-ups.” (Dire says no).

As much as she loathes Riddle though, Alice might enjoy some of his nonsensical rules. She hates boring things like order and routine, instead craving the thrill of things unique and unpredictable. Riddle is taken aback when one day she exclaims how much fun she’s having during one of his sudden events, which had annoyed and tired out everyone else. He’s not sure how to react.

He spends a long time thinking about this, and then curiosity gets the better of him; he tries to experiment to see if he can do anything else that doesn’t make her turn her nose up at him. So basically, this is his odd way of figuring out her interests - and he realizes she’s not just automatically appalled by everything he does; she’s simply very opinionated. He might even start to appreciate the fact that she’s got such a strong grip of her views and morals.

It takes much longer for Alice to fall in love with Riddle, though. She has such a great distaste for him that there’s no way she’ll even consider falling in love with him. She would have to catch him in a vulnerable state to realize there’s more to him than simply yelling at everyone all the time - maybe when he’s stressed from school, or sleeping, or witnessing him experiencing true happiness (perhaps with his friends? does he even have friends?) And then she, too, having a natural curiosity, might try to learn more about him.

Tbh, the only thing that might help bring them together is the fact that both of them are way too nosy for their own good.

Azul & Ariel

Like Alice, Ariel is very curious, stubborn, and determined, but she can be a little gullible and naive at times. She’s been sheltered her whole life and Night Raven is the first time she’s been away from home for so long. Azul, on the other hand, is very independent; he’s somewhat of an information broker, good at observing people and seeing what makes them tick - and also swindling what he wants out of them. Naive little Ariel makes a perfect target.

Azul is very gentlemanly and polite, enticing and friendly, so Ariel is immediately swayed. She pretty much falls into the honeymoon phase with him straight away, but not truly in love; she’s just excited to be socializing with a nice boy.

It’s easy for Azul to trap her in a deceptive contract with ambiguous conditions. He doesn’t have any personal interest in her initially, but Ariel responds to his betrayal with vigor and goes above and beyond in trying to void the contract. It is only here that Azul starts taking more of an interest in her, since she’s now causing problems for him and therefore in the way.

But, even he has to appreciate her fierce determination to get out of this contract. He even stops at one point to consider why he’s been trying so hard to prevent her from getting out of it; Ariel is nothing but sweet and pure, so why is he so intent on inconveniencing her? He tries to convince himself that his original mindset is the same as it was before: Ariel was unable to pay the price he had set. Perhaps under misleading terms, but it’s her fault for not reading the contract carefully enough - therefore he can’t give her any leeway until he’s collected his payment. Even so, a part of him feels regretful.

However, Ariel has developed a (rightfully) bitter attitude towards Azul, and even though he understands why, it still leaves a sour taste in his mouth. Witnessing how beautiful of a personality she has has made him rethink his whole view of her - and a part of him wishes they were on better terms.

If Azul was serious about remedying their relationship, it would take a serious amount of effort on his part to regain her trust. Ariel can be naive, but she’s not stupid; and she’s already established that Azul is not an ally. But, in the case that he is able to prove himself to her, then the same elation she had when she first met him would resurface.

For their relationship to work, Azul would need to be the one who’s most committed. He already has a personality Ariel would immediately grow infatuated with, so it really depends on him being able to truly become someone she can trust and rely on - and make sure she knows that too.

Kalim & Aladdin

These two are hopeless idiots together. They come from vastly different backgrounds: while Kalim grew up with basically everything handed to him on a silver platter, Aladdin comes from a poor family and barely scraped by in his youth. They share a common resourcefulness, though, as they both are very talented at making do with whatever situation they’ve landed in (but, Kalim always has the advantage of wealth and power).

While Aladdin might be initially turned off by Kalim’s extravagant wastefulness, he also admires it greatly; much like his canon love for Jasmine, he is struck by beauty and wealth and only dreams about what it might be like to live with such greatness. This overpowers his slight aversion for him.

It’s easy for Kalim and Aladdin to become friends. Aladdin is funny and bright, with a knack for socializing since he’s come across so many people from being in such open, unstable living conditions before. Overall, he’s just very easy to slide into conversation with and feel like you’ve known him forever. Kalim is also very extroverted, but in more of a you-will-pay-attention-to-me-now forceful kind of way. Like Jamil, Aladdin is one of the few people who doesn’t tire out from Kalim’s constant energy & semi-sheltered mindset.

Once they find out their shared extroversion is very compatible, Kamil and Aladdin talk nonstop. Aladdin is a natural storyteller, and loves sharing about all his experiences from his childhood. He had to be very independent and willing to defy authorities in order to secure his survival, while also helping all the other orphans and street rats obtain food and shelter as much as he could. Kalim finds this extremely admirable. To him, Aladdin is almost like a literal prince - he rose from nothing and now is thriving at the prestigious Night Raven College. Also, he seems to have turned out fairly normal for someone who suffered so many hardships as a child.

But evidently, the closer the get, the more Kalim realizes Aladdin is not as normal as he makes himself out to be. His traumas from his youth have and are still affecting him, and once Kalim sees this different, more somber side of Aladdin, he becomes desperate to help him any way he can. He first takes him on a “date.” This isn’t meant to be romantic, just a nice all-expenses-paid trip to give Aladdin something nice.

Jamil is surprised because this is the first time Kalim has ever thought about anyone other than himself. But then, once the “dates” keep happening, Jamil realizes there’s more between them than just Kalim “being nice.” Things might escalate between them both, and while the final trigger for Aladdin was Kalim’s little acts of kindness, there had been something clear between them since the beginning.

Vil & Snow White

This sort of piggybacks off the headcanons I wrote here.

Snow White is sweet and pure of heart, a girl who doesn’t fully realize when someone might be taking advantage of her. She is gentle and sweet when she talks to you, but also doesn’t mind keeping to herself for long periods of time. On the other hand, Vil is vain and proud, constantly needs attention, and keeps his own appearance as his top priority. He always makes sure his connections are up to his own beauty standards too, and if Snow White enters his social circle, this includes her. Fortunately, there’s not much for him to do, because she is already extremely beautiful.

Vil takes interest in her because of her beauty. He feels a bit threatened by it in the beginning, but every time he talks to her, she always, always acts like the nicest, most genuine human being he’d ever met. He gets a little frustrated because he wants to hate her for being so much more beautiful than him, but she’s so ridiculously precious.

Snow White doesn’t mind Vil much. Like with everyone, it’s basically impossible for her to view him in a bad light, and she respects him as Pomefiore’s dorm leader. That being said, he’s not a major interest for her - she has a very tight-knit circle of 3 or 4 girl friends who she spends most of her time with.

Their interactions are usually initiated by Vil. Half the time, it’s because he can’t understand how she’s so nice all the time, so he tries to draw out a negative reaction from her.

But with enough time spent together, the opposite effect happens. Snow White develops a small crush on him. She starts getting flustered whenever he talks to her, and even more fidgety and precious - and even more, starts picking up his little mannerisms and habits. She sometimes points out whenever she notices something’s changed in his appearance.

Then, it’s Vil’s turn to feel flustered. She noticed. She notices whenever he does his hair differently, or when he paints his nails a new color, or when he wears a new arrangement of jewelry. He’s taken aback when his own heart starts fluttering whenever he’s around her, and soon he drops his mission to find fault with her and refocuses his attention on trying to avoid her. He has no time for falling in love.

But now Snow White is the one nervously trying to get his attention. And he's fallen so head over heels for her, he can’t not interact with her - and would feel too bad if he was mean to her. For a while, there’s a lot of tension between them, and Vil feels hideously awkward. He hates it. So he tries to finally confess, as slyly as he can.

Snow White isn’t very good at reading between the lines, but Vil isn’t very good at being subtle when he’s struck by so much emotion - so their feelings for each other come to light very quickly. There isn’t much verbal communication between them when they “confess,” though - Snow is too shy and Vil can’t admit anything unless he’s not being serious. But, if they do establish that they love each other, their relationship would be stable and warm from both parties.

belphie and canon divergence

belphie??? i hc,,,, or rather, i’m making him canon divergent, so he kind of,,,,,, suffers from depression? originally, he only had a tendency towards sloth bcs of his sin? like,,, ,he would sleep a lot, and was generally lazy, but he was,,, p chill, u know ? he would take things as they come, and didn’t make too much of a fuss tbh. 

it’s why he liked humans so much. not that he genuinely cared in the first place? but he,,,, he was,,, curious. detached. he liked watching them like u would watch animals ,, , in nature or the zoo or smth? they were p,,, amusing and he liked watching them change and how they changed as time grew--- and sometimes, he would even “befriend” a few, keep tabs on them and their descendants, u know? ? ?

at the time, he was an angel- so his tabs was general blessings? it was nice, to just,, ,, , sit down and yeah, let the time while away.

then lilith died, and everything went to shit. yes, he blamed the humans, and im gonna have to review this so it might change later? but like,,,,,, he already had a tendency to be disinterested,,, , and he never saw them as,,, important in the first place? like,,, why would he care,,,, about essentially animals? but,,,,, his general amusement of them turned into,,, dislike, and where before he would “bless” them? now he sort of,,, watches them fall into misfortune and laugh, if he has the energy and he’s feeling bored, maybe he’ll curse someone esp lucky or smth, idk. 

but in general ? lilith’s death really kickstarted his decline from,,, sloth to actual DepressionTM. he became more withdrawn and irritable, and distanced himself from his family and friends, with the sole exception of beelzebub-- and that is only bcs of their status as triplets w/ lilith. though not to the extent of satan, he was generally,,,, quick to annoy? not quick to anger though, he,,,, he just. if u annoy him, he’ll leave? he just wont bother caring anymore and go back to sleep and ignore u tbh. he won’t go out of his way to make trouble? or lash out? not unless you truly anger him-- 

like lucifer did when he supported diavolo w/ the exchange program. yes, my belphie doesn’t loathe them to the extent that canon does ? but,,,, that doesn’t mean belphie likes humans. at all. because he feels so little ( apathy, not lack of emotions asfdkj ) what he does feel is,, although its shallow, he expresses it in v extreme ways when pushed? bcs to him, even tho its shallow, its the only thing he feels, so it,,,,, 

how do i explain this. it’s like,,,,  like, for example. belphegor originally is apathetic towards A. they’re fine, w/e. then A pisses him off. because belphie originally had a v neutral baseline for A, there are no good feelings to offset that annoyance? so their next interaction is already biased towards him disliking them, just on principal. so even though its a v small slight, bcs its the only thing he feels about them, even though its so small and so ? shallow of a feeling? general irritability ? bcs its now the baseline for their interactions and theres nothing to make it better? unless they are truly neutral or are? able to change his opinion to that of a more positive one, in which case ur new baseline is gonna be relatively,,, sure ur fine w/e? the slights are going to keep building and building and building until he just straight up dislikes u---

and its so fucking petty bcs its like, why do u dislike me? and its bcs all of these minor things that he just didn’t let go and accumulated? there’s no reason for him to force himself to change his opinion of things, he doesn’t care enough to or to force himself to let things go and be positive ?  that they just. accumulate. like, for his brothers, if they annoy him its like, w/e i’ll let it go bcs we’re brothers-- and any grudge i have will be repaid or returned soon enough so its not a big deal? + we’re brothers, even tho i,,,, dont express it and its dull, i do,,,, love u, ,, ,, so ,,, ,, i dont want really want to hate u. 

with strangers its like. the only thing he knows about them is the slight,, and theres no reason for him to? care otherwise so :/ yeah.

leon is old as dirt and all that but i think, as a human, he was a good person? not even super power or money hungry, he really just wanted to make the most of his life because as far as he knew, life was short as fuck but lol. he hardly even remembers the person he used to be.

not to get too buffy the vampire slayer on you, but when he was bitten, he...changed. not all at once, and it wasn’t like a literal demon suddenly inhabited his body and his soul died, BUT it was more like...once he had access to such power, namely becoming more invincible than a human and gaining inhuman strength, he got carried away with it. he wanted more.

he became one of the most powerful men in all of greece and got bored of that so eventually he started his own coven, which became extremely well-known and feared, but he was eventually overthrown and felt a bit like a fuckin loser

but that didn’t really change him. it wasn’t until he found a young girl on the verge of death, begging for help, that his life actually fell apart. he knew it was a bad idea but he decided to turn her and um! it was bad fam. she ended up destroying an entire village because she was like um...nine. and he had to kill her anyways because clearly she was a menace so!

i guess being a vampire is kind of? shitty??? you just gotta kill people all the time and then when you decide to save them they just kill even MORE people?! the more he thought about it, the more he saw being a vampire as a battle that he couldn’t win. but he didn’t want to...die. he just? stopped caring. about power, money, influence, all of it.

over the centuries he’s mostly done a lot of studying and traveling. it’s one of the only things about immortality that he genuinely still enjoys. he’s settled down in new york city for now because he wants to...give stability a try...i guess. and he knows People here and maybe he wouldn’t Hate to see them again idk!

he found a good, fairly solitary job at the amnh, where he pretty much just does his research and tells other people what to do and then they leave him alone to do his work. what a dream. i said he doesn’t care about money but OBVIOUSLY he has a lot of it because that’s what happens when you Have to work to feel satisfied in your endless life and that means endless paychecks and well he has qualifications for pretty much any job he’d ever want and just includes the necessary prerequisites as necessary. and those jobs are good bc he! smort.

he adopted the surname isherwood in like the 1700s when he was posing as an englishman and just picked one of the popular names from the census

also i lied he doesn’t live in the bronx he lives in white plains bc he hates the city and he hates constantly being bombarded by annoying ass humans okay bye!

episode 7 thoughts

oh boy this might be long i have a lot

i really was not a fan of last night’s episode which is depressing because of how much i loved movie night but...here we go (also idk if anyone even reads these but i love getting my thoughts out so this is fine either way)

victoria and val: that package sure was something. tbh i didn’t mind val’s comments about lindsey and jordan like he wasnt lying but i get why people disliked that he said that. i think its cool that he’s able to push victoria to her best and i think that’s something that val is really able to do with his partners. he genuinely is one of the better coaches because of how he’s able to create a relationship where his partner trusts him, and then use that to get a good performance out of them. and i think most importantly victoria is able to take it. she is an OLYMPIC ATHLETE...i don’t think val needs to handle her with kiddie gloves. p*re said that his behavior was abusive and controlling and evidence to him being a bad person, and i genuinely think that’s an insane (and honestly extremely serious) assertion to make based on a heavily produced package that displays 2 minutes out of their entire week. and it’s even MORE INSANE coming from a group that goes on and on about how overproduced the show is. but thats that. val can be extremely annoying tbh, but calling him abusive to his partners and saying hes gaslighting his victims is ridiculous and shameful imo. ANYWAY their dance: i really liked it. i generally like VWs so i liked this, and he didnt go OTT in theme stuff which i enjoyed. 

jordan and lindsay: jordan is so perfect (as a dancer) that it is unreal. i love him. i think its basically irrefutable that if this was strictly a dancing competition based on talent jordan deserves the mirrorball by a mile. he’s just so fucking good. i love his partnership with lindsay, and i love that lindsay said she’s pushing herself to be as good of a choreographer as mark because in terms of that its hers to lose. on the other hand jordan is just so perfect that i need him to be taken down a notch. even his responses to criticism are perfect which is fine because i think he’s just extremely charismatic but that is just so unrelatable. I LOVE HIM,...but i know a lot of others probably don’t because perfection is boring, esp on a show like this.

nikki and artem: i’m not terribly shocked nikki was eliminated because she wasn’t one of the strongest dancers, but i’m so sad because i love her partnership with artem so so much. artem was so sad too, which made me sad. i died when he straight up called the elimination bullshit. their dance wasn’t good if i’m honest, but i’m sad to see them go :(

vanessa and maks: i....rip. i’m so sad they left last night because i genuinely think vanessa was probably the third best dancer this season, but i’m even more sad they left on THAT dance. it was awful and just so so much. the production was too much, the concept was iffy, i just did not love the choreo. i couldn’t even tell how her dancing was bc of the fog but tbh that doesnt matter bc i dont know anything about dancing lmao. but just purely based on watchability, this was a no. sad :( but i doubt either of them is miserable. maks’ reaction to how ridiculous the double elimination was honestly made me laugh. that was really cruel as fuck, even if i did see it coming it was clear the contestants didn’t.

terrell and cheryl: i suddenly love terrell which sucks because he’s probably going next week. their dance wasn’t amazing, but cheryl has really whipped him into shape. it’s probably their time to go but tbh i could think of a few pairings id rather see leave first. but whatever that’s life.

lindsey and mark: i loved the choreo for their dance, but lindsey just looked like she was in so much pain the whole time that i just wanted them to stop. i’m so glad they made it through okay and got good scores because it’s what they deserve. i’m sure they’ll be fine score-wise considering how popular lindsey is. i just hope she’s able to rest a bit. this is such a sucky time for an injury like that, but i’m sure she’ll power through. 

frankie and witney: okay...this whole time with frankie i’ve loved him as a contestant and LOOVVEED his partnership with witney, but his dances have been overhyped for me. this was honestly no different, but i did admittedly like it a lot more than i did some of the others that were hyped up. overscored? yes. am i mad? no because i love him as a contestant. i’m worried for him next week though becuase doing a jive? with alfonso? who would probably rather die than play his own dancing down for frankie’s benefit? yikes...that might be a trainwreck. still, though, i’m sure he’ll be fine well past next week, and i will be SHOCKED if he doesn’t make the finale.

drew and emma: drew is just such a total non-event for me. he rubs me the wrong way sometimes, but i do love him with emma, mostly because emma could bring the best out of anyone’s personality. this dance was cool i guess, but i honestly wouldn’t be mad if he was out next week. he won’t be, but i wouldn’t be mad if he was.

the team dance scoring was kind of crazy. team phantom being 6 points better than team monster mash??? okay... in all honestly that was probably to prob victoria (and maybe frankie...) up and get them past next week. both dances were kind of pedestrian though. (big words coming from someone with no rhythm)

next week sure is going to be something. i kind of loathe the idea of former contestant’s being the +1 in the trios. in a competition that’s supposed to be about the celebrities this kind of takes the spotlight away from them while also putting an insane amount of pressure onto the pros. also i feel like some of the pairings could be troublesome for the contestants. from knowing kelly cheryl and terrell have rumba and alfonso witney and frankie have jive i’m kind of suspicious that this might be about the former contestants’ best dances. and that might make terrell, frankie, and victoria in particular look kind of bad. i know i said frankie is going to be a trainwreck next to alfonso, but i really feel like this might be a problem for victoria with laurie. the good thing about laurie, though, is she’ll probably adapt herself better than alfonso does, just based on her personality. the packages will be interesting, though, because i’m sure they’ll feature a lot of advice.

and i’m sure corbin jordan and lindsay will absolutely blow me the fuck away. my expectations are so so high for them.
