ferrari team celebrating with lewis after singapore this ferrari caring for lewis that istg i know for a fact some of yall were present during turkish gp 2020 when they completely ignored seb after he drove to the podium in order to comfort charles because he threw the place away by his own fault. i was there gandalf. i was there when they started to pack it up in spain when charles retired while seb was still very much racing and i am still bitter about it. i do not think anyone at this team is capable of thinking much less caring about two drivers at once or even one of them most times
#fuck ferrari always#this team is full of shit#and i think a lot of f1blr right now either weren't following f1 in 2020 or are deciding to have a very selective memory#this comes from a place of deep hurt so if you're happy about this move then good for you i guess#just don't assume they actually give a fuck#genuinely don't think I'll stop being upset about that team for as long as i watch motorsport#they even drove michael. michael schumacher. they drove him to leave#anti ferrari

EXTENTION/WRITTEN VERSION of WHO IS KENOUGH
Summary: Barbie Blanco is dating her childhood crush, Mick Schumacher but nobody knew. Or at least, nobody knew until Arthur Leclerc, Barbie’s boy best friend who drove for the Ferrari Driving Academy, decided to take the matter into his own hands and roped Barbie into making the young Schumacher jealous. Needless to say, riling up the entire F1 community (and the boyfriend) would eventually make Mick snap.
Content warning: written version of Who Is Kenough, use of explicit language, platonic!scheming!Arthur Leclerc x OFC, established relationship, jealous!Mick Schumacher
Note: I am moving tomorrow so I decided to write this down for now bc I just want some menace Arthur. This is the written version of Who is Kenough so enjoy!!! xx
masterlist
Barbie Blanco had always considered herself decent. She acted as nicely as she could in public, respecting everyone and treating them with kindness. Because of her connection to the retired driver Sebastian Vettel and his wife Bel, she, too, had an image in public that she maintained. Everyone loved Barbie. Of all the people who could’ve made their images terrible, she had more chances of winning the public over should she do something heinous. Not that she’d ever do something as such.
Mick Schumacher was the same. He was born to an iconic racing family, with him being Michael Schumacher’s carbon copy. He already had a public image by the time he was born— a set of expectations for him were ready to be fulfilled. He was the cutest baby to have existed too, with cameras taking photos of him left and right while he and his father were out and about. He had to maintain his image as a Schumacher legacy.
Perhaps that was why he decided that keeping their relationship on the down low was ideal. It wasn’t as if he was embarrassed by the thought of it — he didn’t like the idea of sharing Barbie to the rest of the world just yet. They’ve seen her in the paddocks as Sebastian Vettel’s daughter and they rooted for her and Mick as years went on — but it didn’t mean that he’d share her to the world after yearning for almost a decade. It took him years to even admit he loved her— he didn’t want to share her just yet.
But Barbie took Mick’s hesitation for humiliation. One of the things that she had learned from being in the foster system for too long was that she cannot ask. Just take what you’re given, and be grateful. It took Seb and Bel to tell her that she could ask anything and they’d be more than willing to hand it to her but a little part of herself, one that thought too much about Mick, doubted that he would even admit to anyone he’s dating her. Let alone she was his girlfriend. So she never asked, just shying away from the thought and continued to be a happy content girlfriend for him.
But it seemed as if fate fucked around a lot. Or rather, Arthur Leclerc did.
Their isolated vacation in Monaco was meant to be as secluded as it could be— the Vettels had a yacht that were maintained but not normally operated, and the younger couple had the boat for the two of them. They were quite happy with the quiet that came with the boat, with him sunbathing while she sat next to him with a book perched on her lap.
Well, Mick was sunbathing until he cleared his throat to catch her attention, shooting the German a look as he smiled widely at Barbie, “Come cuddle?”
“Under the sun?” Barbie chuckled, “I could do so much more than staying in one place.”
“Oya? Name it,” Mick’s hand lifted his shades to stare at her dark eyes with his cheeky grin. “Maybe we can experiment and see what works?”
“You are literally red in the face and your chest because of the sun,” Barbie scoffed, “what’s stopping me from slapping you to make them hurt?”
“Your love for me?” Mick suggested, leaving Barbie to roll her eyes as he laughed and reached up to kiss her softly. Pulling an inch away from her lips, he murmured, “Ich liebe dich so sehr.” I love you so much.
“Took us long enough huh,” Barbie chuckled beneath her breath before pulling him for another kiss, “I love you.”
Arthur: Oi, how long are you here in Monaco for???
Barbie: ??? How do you even know I’m in Monaco?
Arthur: Snapchat works wonders.
Arthur: So??? Are you gonna be here for a while or are you just planning to ditch your best friend?
Barbie: Ugh, fine. I’ll find my way around here. Where do you want to eat?
Arthur: I knew I love you for a reason ;) Remember that resto I took you to for pasta? Like the big cheese wheel pasta?
Barbie: I honestly would rather eat at the back of your mother’s salon.
Arthur: Don’t be so boring. Send me your addy. You better be outside your place at 6PM sharp. If you’re not dressed as much as you do on a fashion week I’m gonna march you back to your place. I want to see fancy. FANCY!!!
Mick Schumacher might kill a Monegasque sometime soon. Preferably his grid mate’s brother.
Barbie had been checking her D&G tulle dress for ten minutes straight while she stood in front of the mirror with her Medusa shoes on, her lips painted dark red while a black rose choker was wrapped around her neck. She had her hair in a wavy ponytail, not wanting to make her hair look more complicated.
“It’s too formal,” Mick only told her before he walked up to their temporary shared closet and pulled out his oversized vintage Ferrari jacket.
Barbie stared at the outerwear in his hand for a second before she chuckled, “That’s too casual.”
“It evens out the whole vibe,” Mick shrugged before slipping her onto the jacket. “Voila. Besides, it’s a Leclerc. What does a Leclerc know about dressing nicely?”
“Oi, you might be friends with one but you don’t get to slander my own,” Barbie laughed regardless, pinching him on the cheek as he smiled lazily. “Don’t be an ass to everyone just because they have the same surname.”
“I’m not— but I’m just saying; if Charles could barely dress, what makes you think Arthur cares about what he wears?” Mick proposed. He was only saying that to make himself feel better. That, and maybe he was convincing himself that their night out was just a best friend to best friend kind of hangout. Not a date.
Nobody knew that they were dating with the exception of their families, as far as they knew. They decided to keep themselves silent about it to their peers, not wanting to see them slip up and compromise the relationship that Mick wanted to keep a secret.
So Mick was trying to convince himself that no, Arthur Leclerc wasn’t taking Barbie on a date. And no, Arthur was just a boy best friend only— he wasn’t crushing on Barbie.
“You’re such a fashion critique,” Barbie replied with a grin, “have you ever considered joining Bel on one of her fashion weeks? You’d do so much more talking than I would.”
“I dress better than him.”
“Alright quit sizing him up, he isn’t here,” Barbie giggled, flattening out the crease on his shirt as she continued, “You— enjoy your night out with Estie and Charles, yes? And I will see you in about… few hours?”
Mick sighed, slumping against her shorter figure as he said, “I really do not want to go out.”
“Same here, best friend,” Mick heard her murmur with his head resting against her neck. Then his lips began to press kisses against her perfumed neck as she pushed him off with a giggle, “Alright, stop feeling me up Mick— you’re not gonna get away from your night out—“
“Ugh,” he groaned, stomping his foot down petulantly before he pouted. “Stupid friends. I’m gonna see them in a week anyways— why do I have to see them over the break?”
“Because they love you so much they’re more than willing to see your insufferable ass over the break?” She raised a brow before her mouth curled into a grin.
Mick let out a strangled and baffled noise as Barbie giggled and said, “I’m kidding. They’re still your friends, love.”
“And? So are you? Why couldn’t they just invite you?”
A ping on her phone echoed inside the bedroom as she sighed, picking up her phone to look at the notification before she looked back at her boyfriend. “Art’s here. Besides, you’ve your friends— I’ve mine. We might’ve been thick as thieves but you still had your friends. I didn’t have any— Arthur was kind enough to pity me no?”
Before Mick could even protest, she already held his face and pressed a kiss on his lips. “See you later, mahal. Enjoy your time with the boys. Don’t drink and drive.”
Then she was gone, leaving him alone as he pouted continuously. He muttered to himself, “I’ll see you, liebe.”
But the truth was Barbie was right; throughout her life as Sebastian’s foster daughter she never had any friends who stayed. Mick and Gina Schumacher were her friends and those two only. Everyone rooted for Mick and Barbie because they were always together; they were the constant ones. Barbie never had any friends that weren’t Mick’s, so Arthur was a change in her life that she welcomed with open arms.
So really, Mick shouldn’t be complaining about her hanging out with other people when he does it every time he’s away from her. He had more options, she didn’t.
“I’m gonna stab you with a fork and you’re just gonna hope for the best if you say that aloud one more time. I swear to you, Leclerc.”
“That what? That you and Mi—“
“Sh~ Art, shut up,” Barbie hissed louder than expected, earning the attention of the people around them as her face flushed red. When they turned back to mind their business, Barbie glowered at Arthur. “If you’re trying to get an answer then you better hush.”
“Fine, I’ll be quiet,” Arthur Leclerc had been twirling the pasta in his plate for a minute straight now, eating it before he leaned over and quietly asked Barbie, “How long have you two been dating?”
“…February.”
“Fucking Feb— oh, mon cœur,” Arthur sighed dramatically, “and I was not even told? Did Charles know? Who else knows?”
“Seb and Gina… literally our families only,” Barbie slumped on her seat, “no, Charles doesn’t know. I intend to keep it that way. Or at least Mick wants to keep it that way.”
What? Even Arthur knew how whipped Mick was for Barbie so why was he hiding Barbie away now? When Barbie saw this look on Arthur’s face all she could say was, “I dunno. I wasn’t told why either. You know I don’t like asking.”
“You should start asking, though, Barbie because how will you know?” Arthur asked. But the last part of his reply had him wondering. How would Mick prove himself to be happy with loving Barbie?
Now this may seem silly or dumb but Arthur might have thought of something. Maybe it would work but who knows.
All he wanted was for Mick to show that he loved Arthur’s best friend as the German driver portrayed back when people only saw him and Barbie as best friends. Forget about Barbie doing everything, maybe this is the time a Ken named Mick Schumacher could do something for once.
Charles: I didn’t know your best friend is coming to Zandvoort?
Mick: She’s in Amsterdam right now, yeah. Why?
Charles: Nothing. I thought you made a move for once but it turns out I’m wrong.
Mick: Wdym?
Charles: Fast Lane Daily and other news sites are running a story about her and my brother right now in Amsterdam. Did you see his IG story too?
Charles: I’m rooting for you two but like this is letting me down tbh
BARBIE AND MICK? No, Arthur Leclerc!
“Barbie Blanco Vettel is a catch indeed, so who’s the lucky Monegasque seeker?”
ARTHUR LECLERC and BARBIE BLANCO are seen hanging out days before the Zandvoort race. Could this be the beginning of an iconic couple in the grid?
“With Sebastian Vettel’s daughter — your best friend Barbie Blanco attending the race week, will we see her in the Mercedes garage?” The reporter asked Mick as he stood there at the media pen. Mick’s smile fell flat when the reporter continued with, “Or will we see her at the Ferrari with what everyone thinks to be her boyfriend, Arthur Leclerc?”
Ugh.
But his smile showed as he answered as nicely as one could, “Oh, no. That’s the thing about Barbie— she doesn’t have favourite teams. She has favourite drivers and with her being my guest — I’m certain you’ll see her around our paddock area, the garage maybe— hell, I might just have the Mercedes social media account post a lot of videos of her.”
“So why haven’t you posted photos of her lately? Does it perhaps have anything to do with the youngest Leclerc being involved with her?”
In the next hour, the Mercedes media team had posted every single clip they had of Barbie, donning the number 47 in her Merc shirt, and Mick talking as they discussed the car and their day — but their conversations were muted and some stupid TikTok sounds were playing in the background. They even posted a video of the duo talking to Sebastian and his son Kimi over a FaceTime call.
Then the Ferrari Driving Academy — per Arthur’s request — posted some videos of him and Barbie messing about at the garage with Ollie. He somehow managed to rope Ollie and their media team into making a TikTok with Barbie’s Merc hat being replaced by a FDA one — WITH ARTHUR’S NUMBER ON IT.
Everyone in the grid had seen it before Arthur’s older brother even did. Even Charles was taking the piss from Arthur’s antics. He was rooting for Mick to finally win the girl over and his brother was out here trying to be as slick as one could be to Barbie.
Charles Leclerc knew that he was more than willing to strangle his own brother on behalf of Mick Schumacher.
Mick was the bigger man on certain occasions (God hadn’t made him the smaller man in every part of his being either), so he couldn’t understand why he wanted to be petty about his relationship with Barbie to Arthur. He was what everyone called a golden retriever— always friendly and all that. But sometimes he wished he was like Roscoe. Intimidating, sure, but he’s a softie. He just wanted to scare any men off as they try to scamper towards Barbie.
The phrases Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlboss never sounded so good until this season. He wanted to follow the mantra with the exception of the first part. He wanted to gatekeep so bad, but being a Mercedes driver opened his world to the public even more. Now he couldn’t even keep Barbie to himself.
He was certainly delighted to see her excited face when she arrived in the Mercedes area during the free practice day, though. It was safe to say that Arthur hadn’t done anything stupid just yet.
Barbie became a familiar face in the paddock as she remained Mick’s guest. She was starting her final year of culinary school in September and all she wanted was to watch him race in person for the last time before heading back to Switzerland. She wasn’t due to see him race again until Abu Dhabi.
Now, Mick saw her more often as they lived ten minutes apart in Switzerland. But there was just something about her attending the races that had him going. He wasn’t a people pleaser— he was a Barbie pleaser. He lived to make her proud just as he was proud of her multi-talented nature. So he wanted to make the Dutch GP something that she’d be proud about. As if he hadn’t been earning points with his Mercedes vehicle every race.
Then Barbie opened her mouth about her trip with Arthur when they were in Amsterdam. Mick loved listening to her rambling about what she’d gotten Seb and Bel’s son Kimi, indeed, but when Arthur’s name slipped out of her mouth his smile faltered for a moment. It was an expression that Barbie missed while she continued to babble about what else she had gotten from Amsterdam.
Mick didn’t have to feel extremely foul after coping from the story that Arthur posted days ago with her being in it. Arthur never posted as much as he did of her before, so there was something going on. Mick just couldn’t point his finger on it. It was annoying him to no end.
It didn’t help that the younger Monegasque came stopping by at the Mercedes garage with a grin while he stood on his electric scooter. Arthur’s grin widened even more when he saw Mick before he looked back at his girl best friend and greeted her, “Not tired of me, yet?”
Mick certainly was.
“Eh, kinda,” Barbie joked, still standing next to Mick’s car while the driver sat there with an annoyed expression. Barbie still couldn’t see it.
“So not fully,” Arthur hummed as if he thought of it thoroughly before he suggested, “Y’wanna ride around the track before FP1?”
Mick’s jaw slacked at the suggestion, baffled that Arthur — that ANYONE — had the audacity to even say that in front of him. To Barbie!
But then he remembered that she didn’t have a friend besides Arthur. THAT and nobody knew they were dating. So he couldn’t exactly protest.
Arthur’s grin meant a lot more than a friendly gesture. It was a shit-eating grin and Mick was at the receiving end of it. He couldn’t even say anything that’ll aggravate anyone.
God, Charles’ offer to give Arthur some hell was starting to sound like a good deal.
“I don’t have any scooter,” she told him, not even noticing the glare that Mick held while Arthur continued to smile like a piece of shit.
The Monegasque hopped off the scooter and said, “I’ll just borrow Ollie’s. I’m sure the lad wouldn’t mind, would he?” But he was looking at Mick.
Mick’s glare disappeared for a moment when Barbie turned to him and asked, “I’ll take a lap or two at the track, if that’s okay?”
His annoyed expression dissipated quickly while Arthur grinned at the sudden shift in Mick’s emotion as he encouraged Barbie softly, “Yeah okay. Careful, alright?”
“Thanks, Schums,” Barbie grinned before she ran towards the scooter that Arthur parked. She was too excited to ride the scooter that she didn’t notice Mick glaring at Arthur.
Arthur saw it though, and all he did was raise a thumb and winked. “Don’t worry, Mick, I’ll return her to you in one piece. She’ll have a fun time.” Then he ran after Barbie who already got a head start towards the Ferrari garage.
Mick huffed and asked his manager about his phone. When he finally got his hands on it, he immediately texted Charles.
Mick: Your brother is a prat.
Charles: I’m gonna pretend that that's news to me. What did the boy do now?
Mick: He’s an asshole. I love him but he’s cooking up something Charles.
Charles: Yeah, welcome to the club. I can still do something just lmk
Charles: Oi, where did you take Barbie again? And why are you being you?
Arthur: Wha? I’m just taking her on a quick trip around the track.
Charles: You do know that Mick likes her right? No like LOVE LOVES her
Arthur: Oh I know Shal :)
Arthur: Sure, Barbie can do anything— but maybe it’s time Ken does something too?
Charles: Stop being so cryptic and get her back to the garage safely, idiot. FP1 is starting soon.
“I’m actually gonna rip my own eardrums off if I hear his name one more time, oh my god.”
Esteban Ocon and Lance Stroll exchanged looks as they just witnessed Mick Schumacher’s first breakdown of the season. It was not just any regular on the track related breakdown — seeing as he was slumped down on the table with his blue eyes hiding away from everyone, his head resting over his forearms while he continued to wear his race suit. He hadn’t taken off his race suit and unlike the others, and clearly whatever the hell was going on with him it wasn’t racing related.
“Who?”
“That other Leclerc guy,” Mick muttered while he kept his head down.
“Does this have something to do with what’s been going around about Barbie and Art—“
“Yes, Lance! Say his name one more time,” Mick exclaimed, rolling his eyes in the process. Lance scoffed at the attitude being given to him, making Mick quietly murmur, “Sorry. Yeah it’s about that.”
“What about it?” Esteban asked as he bit on his granola bar, “Barbie and Arthur are friends, no?”
“And that’s the thing,” Mick said exasperatedly, “they are friends. Just friends— they’re not a thing.”
“Why are you so obsessed about that,” Lance asked genuinely, “it’s not like you two are a thing anyways. They can date if they feel like it. Arthur can woo her as much as he’d like as long as she permits him.”
Mick looked defeated, pouting slightly as he kept his head down. Yeah. He had nothing to say anymore. He was done ranting.
But Esteban wouldn’t live that down. Mick’s reaction. It was as if the blond guy had something more to say but chose to keep his mouth shut. “Ah, so you fucked up, Mick?”
Lance’s eyes widened at Esteban’s claim as Mick looked at the Frenchman with a questioning expression. Esteban continued to interrogate the man in question, “Mick, why haven’t you posted anything about Barbie since… I dunno… since Imola?”
“I- what?”
Lance, seemingly amused by Esteban’s words, had also given his input, “And why isn’t she here with us…? Why are you way too far from her right now, Mick?”
“It’s obvious you have a crush on her. That's why she was sticking with you most of the time and you’ve posted your photos and hers all the time. So,” Esteban leaned over and stared directly at Mick’s eyes. “Why is she with Arthur Leclerc?”
“I’m keeping my mouth shut,” Mick leaned back, but Lance too had gotten into the interrogation as he offered an idea.
“Have you two fallen off?”
“No? What made you think that? She’s still my guest no?”
“Is she dating Arthur?”
“No,” Mick scoffed, “she would’ve told me otherwise.”
“Do you think she’s dating Arthur?”
“No,” Mick answered.
“Do you want her to date Arthur?” That was the final nail in the coffin.
“What- no! Guys for fuck’s sake! She’s my girlfriend!”
“AHA!” Mick’s claim might’ve been quiet enough for the two to hear but Lance and Esteban’s reactions were the opposite. Lance accidentally banged his knee against the table and Esteban stood and pointed at Mick, catching the attention of everyone inside the paddock area.
Mick swore that he was being selfish and he was planning to do it until everything dies down. But even he couldn’t keep his stupid mouth shut because of some guy named Arthur Leclerc. He was spiraling.
Esteban sat back down and asked, “So why aren’t you posting her more than you should’ve now?”
“Does it matter? We both love each other and nobody needs to get into our business like that,” Mick muttered bitterly. “Our families are already after our asses about it before we even made things official.”
“Yeah but have you asked Barbie how she felt about that?” Lance counteracted before he pointed out, “Sure she agreed to keep it private. But you two— literally just before all of that, when Seb was still driving— she’d be trailing after you and you’d have your arms wrapped where friends shouldn’t be wrapping it around on. Now she’s not even getting all of that from you. The closest thing she’s gotten was a paddock pass.”
Their words sat with him throughout the weekend, but he never let it bother Barbie as he cuddled with her that night and the night before the race.
He was outspoken when it came to Barbie. He absolutely loved her. But there was just something about keeping his relationship a secret that immediately became the norm. Everyone knew how in love he was with her, but to say it aloud all while they were in a relationship? It’s like he didn’t like the change when they finally became a couple. He was so used to being in love with her that he didn’t care about the labels. It was as if their relationship was already established from the beginning they didn’t need to say it aloud.
But the thing was that he needed to say it aloud. It was eating her alive regardless if Mick never saw it on her face. Everyone saw what he didn’t see. Maybe Arthur saw that too and was giving her the love she so deserved.
Maybe it was time he showed it to the world as he normally did back before they even became a thing. He wanted normality right? Perhaps, this was it. He should go back to normal — with the exception of them being labelled as a couple rather than best friends.
Mick was in P1 and he was sulking. He was fucking sulking because he just found another photo of Barbie arriving at the same club as he was in now with Arthur.
This was what he didn’t like about being in a secret relationship while he kept getting podiums — and being a winner. You couldn’t even celebrate your win properly because you’ve decided to hide her away from everyone.
Her black Oscar de la Renta dress didn’t do her beauty some justice. No matter how expensive it was, her face was exquisite enough to outdo her clothes. She held a single piece of rose on her hand and handed it to Mick with a sheepish smile. It was a way to congratulate him without having to be intimate in front of other people.
But this past few weeks itself was insane. He didn’t even want a rose. He just wanted her and her genuine smile. It was his fault for wanting to keep their relationship a secret.
An hour or two passed and Mick decided that it was time to head home. During his celebration he drank as much as Barbie did, happy to see her get wild. But the one that had him wishing he’d gone to celebrate in their hotel room was the way she danced wildly with Arthur as they had both gotten loose throughout the night.
It was fairly quiet outside the club, signalling that the two of them had enough privacy to wait for their lift outside the venue.
They were both too touchy feely to even be in public, but when Barbie wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him closer to express how proud she was of him and how happy she was to see him win — no matter how much she ached to hold him after he got out of the car but resorted to hiding away to his drivers room — he couldn’t help but press his lips against hers and devoured the love that she gave him.
The next morning, Barbie had woken up witnessing him scroll through his gallery album full of their photos together.
“Morning, liebe. Which ones do you think look good?” Mick asked her without missing a beat, turning his screen to her direction.
“They all look nice. I can’t pick anything for wallpaper,” Barbie muttered as she wished to fall back asleep.
But it seemed like Mick had another plan, “It’s not for a wallpaper. I’m trying to post a dump photo of us on Instagram.”
Her eyes widened at the announcement as she turned to her side, giving him an incredulous expression. He smiled meekly, “Yeah… they were all blowing up my Twitter because they caught us making out—“
“What—“
“In public.”
“What? And you’re just posting photos of us to add more fuel to the fire?” Barbie shrieked, letting out a noise. “Are you sure you’re alright?”
“Esteban and Lance were right about being stupid for keeping you a secret,” Mick murmured guiltily. “I’ve shown some symptoms of being too in love with you before, so why can’t I do the same thing now that we’re actually together?”
“I hope it didn’t make you think that I was ashamed of you,” Mick continued, putting his phone down to turn to her direction, his hand reaching to spontaneously comfort her. “If anything I’m just trying to get them to mind their business.”
“Don’t be sorry,” Barbie huffed out, “you weren’t wrong about keeping it private.”
“Yeah but it wasn’t right to just pretend you aren’t something more to me,” Mick pressed a kiss on her forehead. “So I’ll be as proud as I can be of you. I don’t care if it’s public or private — I’ll be yours as long as you’re mine. Yes?”
Arthur: Did Mick finally spill?
Arthur: Fucking finally. I was ready to expose him on your behalf tbh.

Anyone who thinks Charles would be crazy to sign for 5 years with Ferrari, have you considered:
There are only 20 spots in Formula 1. Even some of the world's most incredibly talented drivers can't get a seat. And most drivers whose Dads don't own an F1 team are happy to get a 2-year contract. 5-year contracts are a rare occurrence. Ask Valtteri what it feels like to drive for years for a top team on 1-year contracts.
10 teams to pick from, with the top 5 claiming all but 2 podiums this past season. So if Charles were to leave Ferrari and not take a step backward in his career, he'd have to go to one of the remaining top 4 teams: RBR, Merc, AM, or McLaren. At Red Bull, he could get podiums and occasionally win races, but he'd never be number 1 while Max is there. Lewis could unexpectedly retire, but until he does, Merc is locked in with him. And while i think Toto would totally want to snap Charles up, if the opportunity arose, not sure I see this happening any time soon. McLaren have a pretty good lineup with both drivers having contracts past 2024. Finally, AM will only have a spot available if either Stroll Sr sells the team or Alonso is forced into retirement. Neither of which seem likely to happen before Charles's contract is up.
Charles lives and breathes Ferrari. He is a tifosi at heart. He loves driving for Ferrari for all its faults and shortcomings. He doesn't just say Forza Ferrari Sempre, he says it from the heart. He wears his Forza Ferrari bracelet until it breaks. He dedicates his end-of-season helmet to all the Ferrari team members. He points to the Prancing Horse on his suit with passion. He wears so many Ferrari clothes outside of work, we are shocked when he doesn't wear them for a while. He spends hours signing autographs for tifosi. And when they ask him if he will ever leave Ferrari, he immediately and confidently responds with, "Never."
Tying in with the previous point: the tifosi adore him. We have a priest praying for him. Grown men getting his name and/or number tattooed next to the Ferrari logo. Italian journalists waxing poetic about him. Fans singing for him under his hotel window. And a single hand gesture from Charles is enough to stop a crowd from booing Max. He gets showered with a 1,000 bracelets, and he accepts (and often immediately wears) them all with a grateful smile. This kind of adulation from the tifosi is not something he will automatically get elsewhere, and I am sure he would miss it dearly if he went to another team.
Charles has said over and over again that he wants to become WDC with Ferrari. Yes, he has mentioned that if he no longer believes in the project, he will look elsewhere. But Fred is only just starting. This year's car was inherited from Binotto. It takes a while to replace staff and to implement new procedures. Where it was possible to make quick changes, we have already seen improvements - most notably with the pit stops, but also with them bringing that meaningful floor upgrade in Suzuka. Fred has said some staff will not even work on next year's car, but on the 2025 car. Changes take time and we are not privy to as much information as Charles is. He has said he believes in Fred and what he is planning.
So to have job security for the next 5 years (btw equaling the number of years Michael Schumacher drove for Ferrari...) with a team he adores, whose fans worship the ground he walks on, working with a team principal with whom he not only has a fantastic working relationship with but who seems to share his vision for the future - it doesn't get much better than this. Yes, I can see that keeping your options open would be good, but I'm sure there will be clauses built into the contract to allow both parties a way out if things don't pan out the way they envision.
In the meantime, if the article in La Gazzetta Sportiva is true, Charles would be the definite N°1 driver for Ferrari. And with Fred also seeing him as the leader of the team, and the car being more developed to suit his driving style, without a doubt his confidence would grow, which in turn would help him become an even better driver and lead to more podiums and wins.
#while i know ferrari will find new ways to screw up races for charles#and therefore there is more suffering in our future#i also believe in fred#and even if charles never realizes his dream of wdc with ferrari#i also cannot see him driving for any other team than ferrari#charles leclerc#f1 contracts#winter break 2023-24#fred vasseur#scuderia ferrari#this got really long#thank you for reading all the way to the end!

Maddie hiiii!!
I woke up today thinking of your Max memoir fic. But it seems to be a long, long time away. Could you maybe share another angsty snippet from it? Only if you can. If it starts looking like you're sharing the whole fic in the snippets, I completely understand if you can't or don't want to :)
ommmggggggggggggg.
well it's a long way away, but it will probably be almost the first one I write after wygig. but it's so sweet that you've been thinking about it 😭 that makes me ridiculously happy.
anyway, here is a little piece from it. I honestly don't really remember what I've shared, but I feel fairly positive that this is very different to everything else I've shared from that piece.
also, I wrote all of this before Lewis' move to Ferrari, so I have yet to decide whether I'm going to rework that detail. just as fyi, bc Lewis at Mercedes is mentioned in here haha.
Max Verstappen Announces Memoir, “What I Was Made For.”
By Adella Stevens
9:08am 11/08/2033
Max Verstappen shocked the world this morning by breaking his two year social media silence to announce his memoir.
Verstappen started his Instagram post by firstly addressing his long hiatus from social media.
“What started as a small break quickly turned into a complete life overhaul,” he wrote.
“I started to reflect on my life and my childhood after my dad died in 2029, but it took me a few years to realise I needed to go deeper. When I decided to take that dive, I started to journal. Eventually, I realised I was writing a book.”
Verstappen continued on by announcing that his memoir would be called What I Was Made For.
“My memoir deals almost exclusively with my relationship with my father. It’s painful at points, and more honest than I’ve ever been in my life. I think that you’ll learn things about me that you might have already guessed, and probably some things that you wish you’d never found out. Either way, getting this out was the most cathartic thing I’ve ever done in my life. My memoir is called What I Was Made For, and it’s out October first.”
Verstappen’s relationship with his father was highly debated during his time in Formula One. While both father and son were quite open about the relationship they had during the younger’s childhood, there were different opinions on whether it was a positive or a negative.
Jos Verstappen drove in Formula One himself, though he never won a race or a Championship. Max entered Formula One at just sixteen years old, and subsequently became the youngest person to ever win an F1 race.
Verstappen is now a seven-time Formula One World Champion, tied with Michael Schumacher for the second most Championships of all time. Lewis Hamilton holds the record of eight Championships, a record he broke in 2027, after which he retired.
Verstappen won his seventh Championship the following year, in 2028, in very controversial fashion after he collided with his main rival Charles Leclerc. Leclerc had joined Mercedes that year, taking Hamilton’s seat, and was on track to win his first Championship. Verstappen was only four points ahead of Leclerc going into the final race, but after their collision neither scored points, leaving the Championship to Verstappen.
While we don’t exactly know the contents of Verstappen’s memoir, it’s assumed from his post that it will detail his time before entering Formula One, perhaps even during it. Verstappen never made an announcement around his reason for retiring from the sport, so likely the book will explain this as well.
With the memoir being released in only six weeks, it’s likely there will be more details to come.

This new gen of f1 fans do not understand how big this news is. F1 was at its PEAK when Max was racing, there was such a huge interest in the sport because of Netflix. but max always kept everything so private, so a memoir from him is like gold

If you’d told me last night that I’d wake up to the news that Max Verstappen is releasing a tell all memoir, I’d have laughed in your face

This is such a clear and desperate attempt from Max to stay relevant. I bet he ran out of money. What a fucking loser, he didn’t deserve half of those championships.

After the annual holiday party you have one more surprise for Mick. Christmas with Schumacher's was always the most enjoyable time of the year. The whole family got together to celebrate: Michael, Corinna, Gina, Mick and now you. You and Mick had been dating for 3 years now, it was your 2nd Christmas together, you had planned to go to his parents together at around 2pm for dinner and then back to your shared apartment later in the evening. You pulled up outside the Schumacher house, gathered all the presents from the trunk of the car and headed inside.
"Well if it isn't my favourite Son and his wonderful girlfriend!" Michael exclaimed as you entered the house, raising his glass to the two of you. Corrina brought you both a drink and you all settled in the living room around the Christmas tree. "Finally you're here!" Gina yelled coming to sit next to you on the couch, "Now we can open presents" she grinned. "Okay ours first" you smiled passing out gifts from you and Mick, an engraved wine glass for Corrina, a scale replica of his first car for Michael, and a personalised necklace for Gina. The family handed out everyone's presents and then you moved to the dining room to eat dinner together, Corrina had cooked a Christmas feast and you enjoyed every single bite. A few hours later you and Mick were getting to leave, you hugged everyone and said your goodbyes. Mick drove you both home through the snowy hills, Christmas songs on the radio you both sang away, basking in the joy of Christmas day. When you got home you walked Mick into the corridor, "Now I have one more surprise for you" you smiled kissing him on the cheek, "Wait here and I'll call you when I'm ready" you said leaving him standing in the hall as you went upstairs. You lit some candles and changed out of your dress, you slipped on a lacy red bra and matching panties, you pulled on a Santa hat (keeping in the festive spirit of course) and sat on the bed posing seductively . "Mick" you called down the stairs, "Your surprise is ready" you heard Mick walking up the stairs, you fluffed your hair and sat there waiting for him. He walked into the bedroom and his eyes locked on you, "Woah, Santa sure looks different to what I remember" he giggled. You walked up to Mick and wrapped your arms around his neck, kissing him gently. Micks hands came to rest on your waist, he kissed you back, sliping his tongue into your mouth and exploring it with his. You unbuttoned his shirt, keeping your lips pressed against his, peeling it off his body, you undid his trousers and he kicked them off on the floor. Your hand passed over his crotch, you palmed him through his boxers working him to an erection. Feeling him grow under your touch you pulled away from the kiss, dropping to your knees in front of him, you pushed down his boxers, his cock springing out and standing on end. You teased him, placing gentle kisses down his length and over his thighs. Mick whimpered at your touch, his cock twitching at the feeling of your lips. You wrapped a hand around the base of him, pursing your lips and taking him into your mouth, your tongue swirling around him as you sucked om his cock. You watched as he ran a hand through his hair, breathing deeply as you pushed your head deep on his cock. Everything Mick did was sexy to you, and this was the icing on the cake, you could feel the wetness pooling in your panties as you worked his length. Micks leg started to shake slightly as the feeling over took his body, you didn't want the fun to be over too quickly so pulled your mouth off of Mick and rose back to your feet, kissing him passionately. He led you to the bed, kissing down your jaw and your neck, nibbling and licking the skin as he went. He led you down, climbing on top of you and tracing your curves with his hands. You moaned lightly as his fingers brushed over your nipples, he wiggled his hands round your back and undid your bra, taking it off and discarding it on the floor. He kissed down your chest and over your breasts, taking one of your nipples into his mouth, sucking and licking, making you squirm under him. He ran his hand down your stomach and tickled your thigh, he grazed his thumb over your panties, you gasped at his touch. He pulled your panties off, leaving you both laying there naked, his fingertips ran over your pussy, making you throb with anticipation. His lips still attached to the delicate skin of your breasts he slid two fingers into you making you moan as you adjusted around him. He pumped his fingers back and forth and your hands found your way into his hair. You gripped onto his locks as he thrust his fingers into you. Moaning loudly as you felt him hit all the right places. Your thighs clenching together as you neared your high. "Oh Y/N, I can feel you getting close" he mumbled into your skin, his warm breath tickling you. He massaged your clit with his thumb, still keeping his fingers deep inside you. You couldn't take it any longer as you came all over his fingers, your thighs tightening around him. Mick moved himself to between your legs, stroking his cock lightly, he lined himself up with your entrance and pushed inside you. He moaned loudly feeling the warmth of your walls tightening around him. His skin against yours sending shivers down your body. He pressed his chest agaisnt yours, pulling you close to him, you wrapped your legs around his waist, giving him full access to you, moaning loudly as he fucked you so gently. "Liebling, you look so pretty with my cock in you" he smirked looking you up and down, you loved it when Mick spoke words of endearment to you, especially when you were in bed together, blushing hard you tried to keep your calm as he thrust into you. Mick knew that this was your weak spot and continued to talk into your ear, "You're such a good girl, you know that don't you" he said with a moan, "You always give me exactly what I want and you're always so well behaved" he kissed your jaw line as you moaned at his words. "You feel so good around my cock, always pleasing me so much" you could control yourself no more, a combination of Micks words and his cock thrusting deep inside you sent you spiralling into another orgasm, you squeezed Mick with your legs as you came all over him. "Oh Mick" you cried out digging your nails into his skin, "you always do this to me" you moaned as he continued to fuck you senseless, you were a complete mess in his arms barely able to control your body as he slammed against your throbbing pussy. Mick groaned as you continued to pulse around him, just as he was about to finish he pulled out of you, ejaculating all over your stomach. He climbed off you, grabbing a towel to clean you both up. You crawled under the duvet, opening your arms for Mick who cuddled up to you, your naked bodies sticking and tangling together. "I love you Süsse" he said kissing your forehead, "thankyou for another perfect Christmas" "Ich liebe dich auch" you said back to him cuddling into his chest.

Happy birthday JUAN MANUEL FANGIO!!!!!! (24/06/1911 - ∞) ⚡
You need great passion, because everything you do with great pleasure, you do well.
Juan Manuel Fangio was born in Balcarce, his parents were italian immigrants and he was the fourth of six children. After changing school twice, at the age of 13, he dropped out of school and started working as an assistant mechanic in Miguel Angel Casas auto mechanics' workshop. Around the age of 20, after a football game, he started feeling a sharp pain in the chest, turns out he developed pneumonia, forcing him to stay in bed for two months. Fangio, after recovering, he served in the military service, where his driving skills caught the eye of his commander officer, that later appointed him as his official driver.
Afterwards his military service, he opened his own garage and around 1936, he slowly started his racing career by racing in local events, like the '400 km of Tres Arroyos'; he would later become the Argentine National Champion in 1940 and 1941 driving Chevrolet cars. In 1942 he had to stop racing due to the start of the Second World War, and later returned in the world of racing in 1946 gaining various successes, that led him to his debut in F1. In 1948, Fangio made his debut at the French Grand Prix, held at Reims, but that same year he suffered a personal tragedy that made him question his racing career: during the point-to-point race from Buenos Aires to Caracas, he had a bad accident, that left him with serious neck injuries, while his co-driver Daniel Urritia unfortunately passed away; that tragic accident, made him question whether he wanted to continue racing, but his successes in Argentina caught the attention of the Argentine Automibile Club, which offered him to race in Europe, in Formula 1, at the wheel of a Maserati; he accepted and left to continue racing the following year.
Fangio through out his racing career had no scruples in leaving a team even after a successful year or even during a season, if he thought he would have a better chance with a better car. As was then common, several of his race results were shared with teammates after he took over their car during races when his own had technical problems. Infact he won 5 championships for four different teams: Alfa Romeo (1951), Mercedes (1954, 1955), Ferrari (1956) and Maserati (1957). Following his series of consecutive championships, in 1958 he would retire from F1, at the age of 47.
After his retirement he sold Mercedes-Benz cars and often drove his former racing cars in demostration laps, was active in assembling memorabilia associated with his racing career and often was a guest at various GPs later in the years.
He would pass away in 1995 at the age 84, from kidney faliure (which he already suffered in the past) and pneumonia.
Fangio was nicknamed 'El Maestro' and he still holds the highest winning percentage in Formula 1 at 46.15%; while his record for most championships, that he held for 46 years, was broken by Michael Schumacher in 2003.

Mick Schumacher & Sebastian Vettel
Oneshot, Gen
Summary:
Mick’s first Karting Tournament was a mess. His dad delayed the entire event by three hours, and he was so embarrassed he withdrew. This time, he’s racing anonymously. With the help of a friend, of course.
Mick has always been fiercely independent. He wanted to prove to the world that his success was due to his own skills and not his dad's name (although his name and his dad's name was the exact same.)
So when he decided to participate in a first Karting tournament, he told his dad he didn't want him to come.
Michael laughed. "Are you really that embarrassed of me?"
Mick clenched his fists. "Of course not! I just want to win for me. I want to know that I completely deserve that win. If you come there, remember what happened last time?"
Michael sighed. His fame as a F1 champion had delayed Mick’s first attempt at karting competitively. By 3 hours. Everyone wanted an autograph, a photograph, even a gourd signing (Michael tried not to think too much about that one.) The organizers were pretty pissed off. It was safe to say that Mick did not participate in that race.
But he saw his son's determination. He saw himself reflected in Mick's eyes.
"Alright," he bends down on one knee. "I won't come to the race. But you have to take someone else with you. Who knows how karting works and can mentor you. You need every advantage you can get."
"Okay!" He smiled. This was not a bad compromise, Mick thought. The worst his dad could do is send Gina or his Mom with him. Who else would come? Uncle Ralf was on a holiday somewhere, with Grandma. And surely Michael wouldn't send a race engineer with him now would he? Content, Mick skipped to his room.
A few moments later, the doorbell rang.
"I'll get it!" Mick yelled. He raced down the stairs to open the door. It probably would be Gina's friends or the friendly neighbor who baked him cookies.
The man in front of him did not have cookies in his hands. He looked down at the boy, and waved awkwardly.
"Guten Morgen, Michael told me he needed someone-"
Mick was confused. Was he one of Dad's racing engineers? Regardless, he opened the door cautiously, letting the stranger into his home. He's not that old, Mick thought. Much younger than Dad.
Michael had come downstairs to see who it was, and his eyes lit up when he saw the man. "Ah, Sebastian! There you are!" he ruffled his hair.
Sebastian smiled awkwardly, not knowing how to react. His shirt was way too baggy for him, and his cap was slightly skewed. But his eyes were the brightest Mick had ever seen, and so full of life.
Michael was talking to the man in rapid German, a bit too quick for Mick to follow, but he caught his dad say his name, and so snapped back to him.
"Mick, this is Sebastian. He'll be coming with you to your Karting Tournament."
Sebastian smiled at Mick. Mick waved shyly.
"You know, he was a Karting champion too once," Michael told his son.
"Really?"
"He won the German Karting Championship, didn't you Seb?"
Sebastian laughed. "Yes, but that was a long time ago."
"Stop being modest, Sebastian."
"Back to the matter at hand, are we getting late?" he asked Mick.
Mick nodded. Michael offered him the keys to his Ferrari.
"The whole reason you called me was to stay incognito; I can't drive your Ferrari!" Sebastian protested.
"Right, right, what did you have in mind-"
"A very affordable BMW. That I drove on my way here."
"I forget you're still a rookie," Michael grinned.
"Yeah, Yeah, Mick and I should leave now. We have a karting race to win," he smiled conspiratorially at the young boy. "Do you want me to help you with your kit?"
"No, I'll do it by myself," Mick said determined, and walked out of the door with his kit.
Sebastian chuckled. "Like father, like son," he told Michael.
Michael sighed. "Runs in the family."
<---------------------------------------------------------------------------->
The track was an hour away. Sebastian hummed along to the radio, hands on the wheel while Mick looked at the scenery.
"First time?" Seb asked.
"Yep."
"Nervous?"
"A little."
"That's alright. It's okay to be nervous. But once you're behind the wheel, everything melts away, except you and the circuit."
Sebastian turned in at the next corner, and Mick saw that they had arrived at the track. He got out of the car, and lifted his bag. He shuffled hurriedly to the registration counter, Sebastian close behind.
A young woman smiled as Mick approached her table.
“What’s your name?”
"Mick Schu-" Mick paused abruptly. He couldn’t give away his real name, that would defeat the entire purpose of trudging Seb along!
“Mick Vettel,” Seb’s voice came softly behind him.
“Okay!” the woman smiled. “Wait do I know you from somewhere?” she narrowed her eyes.
“Nah, I just have one of those faces,” Sebastian shrugged.
“Who are you in relation to the participant?”
“Older brother,” he continued.
“Alright! Here’s your number,” she handed them a sticker. “And you can set up your Kart in the tent corresponding to your number.”
“Thank you,” Seb wished the woman and walked away, looking for their tent.
“Mick Vettel?” Mick asked.
“Well, you froze. I panicked!” Seb threw his hands up. “We can go to another counter and get it changed if you want.”
“I think it’s okay. What was your number? For your winning tournament?”
Seb stopped and thought for a while. “Hmm, I think it was 47.”
Mick glanced at the number he was assigned. 47.
Seb smiled at him. “Maybe we’ll get lucky!”
<---------------------------------------------------------------------------->
Mick felt uneasy. Maybe he should've brought Michael instead of Sebastian. He saw other kids with their parents and felt a little jealous. But Seb called out for him to bring him a tyre, and he complied.
The race was about to start soon. Mick fidgeted with the collar of his race suit. Sebastian picked up the kart and placed it on the ground.
“I think she’s ready. Are you?”
“I think so? I don’t know, I-”
Sebastian kneeled down and lifted Mick’s visor. “Just relax! This is your first race, you’re going to remember it for a long, long time. Whether you win or lose doesn’t matter, you just need to have fun. Go out there and do your best.”
Mick nodded, and went to the grid, his jaw set in determination. Seb followed him with the kart, and put it on the grid. Mick belted himself in. The marshal waved the flag, and Mick got a good start. He flew past the others, completely focused on taking the lead. He glimpsed Seb with a camera, but he reminded himself he needed to focus.
<---------------------------------------------------------------------------->
He came in 4th, just shy of a podium, but the way Sebastian celebrated, you’d have thought he’d won the world. As they walked back to the car, Mick sulking the whole way, Sebastian congratulated him.
“Good job Mick!” he patted the boy’s shoulders.
“But I didn’t win,” Mick pouted, kicking a pebble away.
“Did you give it your best?”
“I tried too.”
“Then that’s all that matters.”
“But my best wasn’t good enough!”
Sebastian fell silent for a while. “We can’t control a lot of things, but we can control our own actions. Our own performances. Sure, you are racing thirty other people, but the person who you have the greatest competition with is yourself.”
“What do you mean?”
“Everyone is different. They come from different circumstances. The only person you can really compare yourself with is you. From the past.”
“I never thought about it that way.”
“Just remember to be better than yesterday. Now we need to pick up the pace if you want ice-cream. My treat.”
“Ice-cream?” Mick’s eyes gleamed. “Yum!”
“Don’t tell your dad,” Seb laughed.
A.N: Okay, older brother Seb was a trope that needed to be done, and this is just pure indulgence.

Seb stopped and thought for a while. “Hmm, I think it was 47.”
Mick glanced at the number he was assigned. 47.
Seb smiled at him. “Maybe we’ll get lucky!”
»»————- ✼ ————-««
»»————- ✼ ————-««
He came in 4th, just shy of a podium, but the way Sebastian celebrated, you’d have thought he’d won the world. As they walked back to the car, Mick sulking the whole way, Sebastian congratulated him.
“Good job Mick!” he patted the boy’s shoulders.
“But I didn’t win,” Mick pouted, kicking a pebble away.
“Did you give it your best?”
“I tried to.”

F1 2020 Video Game Review: Codemasters Outdoes Itself, Again
Let’s get this over with at the jump: Codemasters’ F1 2020 is the best F1 video game to ever hit home-gaming consoles, period, and you should buy it now if you haven’t already. That’s my visceral gut reaction after spending a good chunk of time with the title that released on July 10.
It’s not a proclamation I make lightly. Racing gamers are a massively discerning lot, and hardcore Formula 1 fans might be even more demanding when it comes to how companies virtually depict their favorite form of motorsport. Throughout the past several decades, F1 games have been all over the map in terms of realism, playability, and pure fun. Take a spin through online forums devoted to racing games/simulators—any racing game—and you’ll find a seemingly never-ending stream of complaints, from car handling to hysterical in-game bugs.
Of course, some of the complaints themselves are hilarious, as they stretch well beyond the pedantic and deep into the realm of, “Are you serious, dude? You do realize it is just a game, right?”
Don’t say that to F1 fans, though. Codemasters launched its first F1 title for home consoles way back in the fall of 2010, and it’s taken its fair share, and then some, of critiques and complaints with each subsequent annual installment. Personally, as an F1 anorak and former full-time motorsports journalist—as well as someone who’s driven on plenty of real racetracks in a wide spectrum of cars—I’ve played them all, for varying amounts of time and with varying levels of satisfaction. And Codemasters’ F1 2020 leaves them all in its wake, not because it is perfect, but because of its depth of features along with a revised handling model that is finally rather proper to drive.
Remembering Michael Schumacher’s Era
Beyond those upgrades, there’s also a satisfying emotional component for me to Codemasters’ F1 2020—and let’s be honest, F1 fandom itself is as much of an emotional investment as anything, considering the on-track action often leaves more than a little something to be desired.
So, I made sure to get my hands not on the standard version of the game, but on the F1 2020 Deluxe Schumacher Edition, an ode to F1 legend Michael Schumacher. My personal motorsports passion was fueled during the seven-time world champion’s prime, right around the time of his first title-winning campaign with Benetton in 1994.
Schumacher’s polarizing nature is well documented, to say the least; it seemed F1 observers and fans were either all-in on the German or borderline (or outright) despised him, especially as he and his Ferrari regime dominated the sport for the first half of the 2000s. Maybe I found comfort in his metronomic precision and consistency in the wake of Ayrton Senna’s death. Maybe there was something intriguing about that high-nosed Benetton B194 he drove. Maybe Damon Hill and the rest of the 1994 F1 grid (other than Jean Alesi and Eddie Irvine) were about as interesting to me as a bag of sawdust. Maybe I’m just a front-runner.
Regardless, for whatever reason, Schumacher quickly became “my guy.” Years later when I was older and paid to view racing through the lens of journalistic impartiality, in my private time I remained a Schumacher fan. But we all knew he wasn’t perfect—especially when his on-track behavior was at times almost shocking in its ruthlessness and perceived arrogance.
Maybe if Schumacher never suffered that horrific skiing-crash brain injury seven and a half years ago, and he had simply eased into retirement as a familiar ambassadorial face that appeared at a few Grands Prix per season, I wouldn’t have felt a strong need to own this edition of Codemasters’ F1 2020. After all, other than some classic Schumacher cars available in the game, I didn’t expect much of a leap in terms of fun compared to the franchise’s previous installments.
As it turns out, I quickly discovered a gem of game with a breadth of offerings that have me looking forward to playing it for months to come. I never could have said that about the past few years’ worth of F1 releases.
So What Makes This the Best F1 Game Ever?
For starters, a revised handling model finally delivers cars that behave as you imagine a modern F1 car should, for the most part; even sim-racing ace and Williams F1 driver George Russell has commented on how well this game drives. Find the right setup in Codemasters’ F1 2020, and the cars actually turn; you’re not moaning constantly about understeer, and you don’t have to drive around the problem by, as Russell has also noted, relying on perfectly timed downshifts as a sort of bizarre torque-vectoring turn-in aid. (Anyone who played last year’s game is well-familiar with this silly, irritating trait.) Just as welcome is a revised ERS power-deployment system that’s much truer to real life than its formerly convoluted in-game execution. Now, you simply push the “overtake” button to unleash the extra power and have at it.
If that’s still too much for inexperienced players or for people who don’t know Grand Prix racing’s ins and outs, there are plenty of assists and game modes available to dumb-down the entire thing to an easily playable degree, without compromising the product for hardcore players who want to manage everything themselves.
Speaking of managing, Codemasters’ F1 2020’s new My Team mode isn’t usually the sort of thing I bother with, but it’s already proved itself a fantastic new way to experience the game: You create your own team from scratch, and sign and manage sponsors, funds, an engine supplier, and a fresh young teammate. Keeping the realism and official FIA license satisfied, you select your teammate from the F2 grid; you can also play the entire F2 season separately as a game within the game.
It’ll come as no surprise I was more than happy to throw an imaginary million bucks at Michael’s son, Mick Schumacher, to join my new outfit. So, there’s a nostalgic component available even when racing in the virtual now. (Giuliano Alesi is also in the game, complete with his father’s famous helmet design, for another generational nod.) Codemasters will surely develop My Team further in subsequent years, but I already anticipate it adding plenty of hours, weeks, and months to my F1 2020-playing enthusiasm.
As for the Schumacher-specific content, frankly it might not seem all that “deluxe” to everyone, especially if you missed or didn’t ever care about the Red Baron’s boat. For fans like me, however, the ability to drive the 7 Up-liveried 1991 Jordan 191, that high-nosed, Ford (Cosworth) Zetec-R V-8-powered 1994 Benetton B194, the Benetton B195, and the 2000 Ferrari F1-2000 is a great nostalgic addition to the standard Codemasters’ F1 2020 lineup of this year’s full grid of contemporary cars. (The standard version of the game already includes Schumacher’s 2004 Ferrari F2004.)
The Best F1 Game Ever, But Not Quite Perfect
It’s a shame there aren’t a few more machines to choose from, though there are other non-Schumacher classic F1 cars available, too. If the development team is looking for suggestions for the future, it should add the 1993 Benetton B193, the gorgeous 1995 Ferrari 412 T2 (the first Ferrari F1 car Schumacher tested at Fiorano upon signing for the Scuderia), the 1996 F310 (a dog of a car, but intriguing in the looks department), the 1997 F310B (no, really, Jacques Villeneuve, I swear I never saw you there), and the 1999 F399 (the car with which Schumacher had a solid shot of winning his first title for Ferrari, before he broke his leg in that season’s British Grand Prix).
While I’m whining, it’s also a shame Codemasters says it won’t be able to add the fantastic, fast, and flowing Mugello circuit to F1 2020, despite it being added to the revised real-life calendar. The new Hanoi, Vietnam, street circuit is included, but after driving about five laps of it, I can tell you there isn’t a driver on the actual F1 grid who should be disappointed the race there was canceled this season. From here on, I’ll pretend it and its inane track layout don’t exist. On the flipside, the addition of the Netherlands’ Zandvoort circuit is a revelation I still haven’t grown tired of.
Still, the classic Schumacher cars offered are a great package of additional content. Along with a few of the driver’s helmet designs and podium celebrations to use while playing as your own character during your Codemasters’ F1 2020 career, the nostalgia factor combines with modern F1, a solid handling model, and attention-holding game modes to produce a great home virtual-racing experience. Hell, speaking of nostalgia, even the split-screen multi-player feature returns, something I think I last enjoyed in an F1 game on PlayStation 1, circa 1996.
The world is certainly unrecognizable from the one we raced in back then, but when it comes strictly to home gaming-console Formula 1 offerings, Codemasters’ F1 2020 definitely will make you happy you live in the now.

Formula One news: Seven things you missed from the F1 German Grand Prix
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Robert Kubica gets first point in NINE YEARS, one Leclerc wins, while Daniil Kvyat has double cause for celebration at Hockenheim… SEVEN THINGS YOU MISSED from the German Grand Prix
By Dan Ripley for the Daily Mail
Published: 14:02 EDT, 28 July 2019 | Updated: 15:49 EDT, 28 July 2019
Max Verstappen’s victory at the German Grand Prix will go down as an all-time classic following an afternoon of total chaos at Hockenheim.
The Dutchman kept his cool while others lost theirs to claim his second win of the season for Red Bull.
With so much to keep track of it was easy for events to slip under the radar, as Sportsmail looks at six things you may have missed from the German Grand Prix.
Max Verstappen celebrates with his Red Bull team after winning the 2019 German Grand Prix
One Leclerc goes home happy
While Charles Leclerc ended the race in a barrier after sliding off track, his younger brother Arthur enjoyed a more productive day at Hockenheim.
Competing in the morning’s ADAC F4 support race, he took victory and was greeted by the Ferrari star in parc ferme after the race where they embraced with a warm sibling hug.

Kubica gets first point in nine years!
Cars were bowing out of the race left, right and centre with conditions causing havoc in Hockenheim.
But despite news arriving hours after the checkered flag, there was reason to smile for Williams as Robert Kubica won his first point in nine years.
The 34-year-old took an eight year hiatus from the sport following a devastating crash in 2011, but he remarkably fought his way back into the cock-pit of an F1 car. After both Alfa Romeo drivers were stripped of their points, four drivers were bumped up the standings and Kubica slotted in at P10.

Home fans enjoy Schumacher throwback
Even before the race there was plenty for German fans to cheer, with Mick Schumacher getting behind the wheel of his father Michael’s all conquering 2004 Ferrari.
Mick performed demonstration laps while wearing a half-half crash helmet, which featured his father’s design, as supporters gave him a standing ovation once he climbed out the cockpit.
Mick Schumacher got the chance again to drive his father’s dominant Ferrari F2004

Double delight for Daniil
Kvyat enjoyed what was one of the best weekends of his life and not just because he secured only his third F1 podium, as well as the second ever for Toro Rosso.
The Russian, having only returned from F1 exile this season, revealed after the race that his wife had given birth to their daughter on the eve of the race.
Talk about a weekend to remember!
Daniil Kvyat celebrates his podium success with Toro Rosso just hours after his wife gave birth
Pressure increases on Gasly
It was not all joy for Red Bull. While Verstappen tasted glory, his struggling team-mate was left to reflect on another tough weekend.
Pierre Gasly’s substandard results this term have already left his long term future at the team in doubt, and clumsily crashing into Toro Rosso’s Alex Albon fighting for sixth won’t help his cause.
He needs to pull it together or risks being removed from his seat.
Pierre Gasly drove into the back of the Toro Rosso of Alex Albon three laps from the end
The Red Bull driver was battling for sixth but the crash damaged his front wing to put him out
Civil war at Haas continues
Having ruined each other’s race after colliding at the British GP a fortnight ago, you would have thought Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen would be keen to avoid another tangle on track.
Instead the drivers once again drove into each other battling for minor points, leaving team boss Guenther Steiner admitting he was ‘baffled’ over how he could end the feud.
The two Haas drivers collided once again at Hockenheim while tussling for minor points
Putting on a show
Pre-race shows are nothing new on the start-straight, but Hockenheim’s idea of warm-up acts may be one of the most bizarre yet.
In the pouring rain, a band featuring fancy dressed members ranging from medieval like jesters to clowns marched down the track, much to the bemusement of the fans around the stadium.
A marching band dressed in a variety of costumes performed in the build up to the race
Not even the rain could put them off their display as they performed at the Hockenheim circuit

Vettel, Ferrari to part ways at the end of 2020
New Post has been published on https://apzweb.com/vettel-ferrari-to-part-ways-at-the-end-of-2020/
Vettel, Ferrari to part ways at the end of 2020
When Sebastian Vettel joined Ferrari in 2015, the excitement was palpable. Many thought the Italian marque could recreate the success it had had with German great Michael Schumacher in the early 2000s.
However, it was announced on Tuesday that Vettel — seen as Schumacher’s successor — would leave the team at the end of 2020, without having won a title so far. What started with great promise, amid a yearning for a return to the glory days, has ended with a whimper — unless Vettel conjures up some magic if a shortened season is held this year.
Not surprising
The decision, as seismic as it is, is not entirely surprising, considering the German’s recent career arc. Vettel and Ferrari made a mess of things and cleared Lewis Hamilton’s path in 2017 and 2018, with a mix of reliability concerns and driver errors.
In 2017, after having led the standings for a large part of the season, reliability issues in two races and Vettel’s triggering of a multi-car collision in Singapore allowed Hamilton to pick up the pieces and seal the title.
There was also the brain-fade moment earlier in Baku when he deliberately drove into Hamilton to make a point and received a big penalty.
String of errors
In 2018, Vettel’s errors kept piling up: the now-infamous images of him crashing out from the lead in the German GP, the incident in France when he hit Valtteri Bottas, the mistake when battling Hamilton in Italy and the failed move in Baku. All of them proved costly.
Last year was Vettel’s nadir, with new teammate Charles Leclerc getting the better of him. The defining moment came in the Italian GP where Leclerc overcame a raging Hamilton and Bottas to help Ferrari win its first home race in nine years while Vettel spun on his own, rejoined the track dangerously and drove like a rookie. With Leclerc signing up until 2024, the centre of power at Ferrari has shifted decisively.
The contrast with Schumacher is striking. After two close title fights in four seasons, Schumacher came back strongly to win five on the bounce (2000-04). Unfortunately for Vettel, it was not to be. The lack of success at Ferrari will reinforce the narrative that he was slightly fortunate to win the four titles he did with Red Bull in dominant cars.
It remains to be seen whether the 32-year-old Vettel, a father of three, will even stay in the sport after 2020. There is a possibility that former teammate Mark Webber’s prophecy will come true.
“I think Seb will do everything early in life,” Webber had remarked in 2014. “He’s got his titles early, he’s going to have a kid early and I think he’ll retire early. He’ll probably take a blast in the red car (Ferrari), then sayonara.”

Sebastian Vettel seems to have fallen out of love with F1, with over 300 days since his last win
It's 301 days since Sebastian Vettel last won a race. And there was no sign of a reprieve under a fierce sun as he was once again driven out of sight by Lewis Hamilton 's decisive track record lap.
While Hamilton took pole for the 86th time in his career, a figure that boggles the mind when you consider Sir Jackie Stewart started only 99 races, Vettel was a miserable seventh in qualifying for the French Grand Prix. The German, who was nearly a second and a half off the pace, is stuck in Briton's shade and it is playing hell with his mind.
Valtteri Bottas was second quickest, completing a Mercedes lockout, Charles Leclerc third for Ferrari, Max Verstappen fourth for Red Bull and 19-year-old Brit Lando Norris fifth for McLaren.
Sebastian Vettel has struggled in recent months for Ferrari as he looks at at Paul Ricard
Vettel will start Sunday's French Grand Prix from seventh after a poor qualifying session
Hamilton is not a serious historian of the sport, although he appreciates his own p lace in the pantheon and respects the legends whose names are echo through the eras, but Vettel is assuredly. He can reel off the numbers that count, the records he once turned his face to rewriting while he became the youngest single, double, triple, quadruple world champion in a streak between 2010 and 2013 when Red Bull ruled the track.
He might tell you, for example, that he is third in the all-time list of race winners with 52, behind only Hamilton, 78, and Michael Schumacher, 91. He achieved more poles in a single season, 15 in 2011 , than anyone else ever.
It was not meant to be Hamilton, but him, edging up to every summit worth conquering.
The four-time world champion appears to have lost his appetite for F1 in recent times
Vettel arrived in France with a wedding ring, having married after the Canadian Grand Prix
Bernie Ecclestone, Vettel's close friend, said: "Sebastian is very quick but he seems to have a problem when he is right up against Lewis. I think it's in his head.
"He is so desperate to win another world championship and for Lewis not to win another. Side by side with him, he has a mental block. "
The signs of tension are there in the mistakes Vettel has made and his reactions to them. There was Baku in 2017 when he drove into Hamilton – the lowest act of his career. In the last year alone he has spun or run off at Germany, Italy, America, Japan, Bahrain and Canada. Three of those incidents involved Hamilton.
It has been about 300 days since his last win that came at the 2018 Belgian Grand Prix
The last mistake, a fortnight ago in Montreal, was one such occasion. Under pressure from the rival he now trails by 62 points, he went wide on the grass and re-emerged on track in an unsafe manner, or so the stewards decided. He was handed a five-second penalty and lost the victory to Hamilton. Cue massive Vettel displeasure.
He was unhinged as he expressed his anger over the radio, calling the stewards "blind" and moving the first and second place markers in parc ferme. "He acted like a petulant child," said John Watson, who raced in a more dangerous age, in the Seventies and Eighties.
"He should have been charged with bringing the sport into disrepute.
"If Ross Brawn was still at Ferrari he would like to have a rat up a drainpipe."
A controversial five- second time penalty in Canada last time out denied Vettel a chance to end his winning drought, as he moves the post-race placings boa rds in protest
Title rival Lewis Hamilton looks on having inherited the victory in Montreal
Ferrari then went through the charade of reviewing the decision, a process that required significant new evidence. Instead, they cited Sky Sports analysis by Karun Chandhok, the former HRT driver.
Hamilton said: "I heard they were focusing (on the review).
"When I heard that Karun's video was the new evidence, I was pretty relaxed after that."
Hamilton is right. Ferrari's nonsensical review told of a team distracted, perhaps to place their No. 1 driver despite the pointlessness of it all.
Vettel is, in fact, a cheerful character when he is not imploding. He has always been happy to share a joke since entering Formula One. He enjoys English comedy and rhyming slang.
Former F1 supremo and Vettel's friend Bernie Ecclestone believes it would not take much to convince the German to retire from the sport in the near future
One evening in the BMW hospitality area 12 years ago, he came over to tell me and the man from the Daily Express that he had found a new word he liked: kerfuffle. Which, ironically, might have been applied to the Montreal flashpoint.
He is old fashioned in many aspects: he does not use social media, he abhors selfies, he uses a fountain pen and paper.
Private to the point of invisibility, he does not even confirm that he has two children, Emily and Matilda. Nor did he announce that a few days after his Montreal meltdown he married his childhood sweetheart Hanna. The ceremony in Switzerland was attended by only close family. No Formula One people. No friends. Or so it is said.
Nobody would have known about the wedding, but for the shiny, smart gold band he got on his fourth finger at his press conference here at Circuit Paul Ricard.
Ecclestone believes Vettel might be nearing the finishing line, aged 32. "Sebastian would stop, and I don't think it would take a lot for that to happen," said the former F1 supremo. "If something upsets him, he'll leave. He could easily do that. He would put his wife and children first. "

Certainly, Vettel seems to have fallen out of love with Formula One, though his £ 36million-a-year salary is a nice little sweetener. It is signed up until the end of next season. He could quit then or indeed throw it all in at the end of this year if the punishment he is absorbing at Ferrari becomes unbearable.
Christian Horner, his boss during the halcyon Red Bull days, is reluctant to criticize Vettel but put his finger on at least part of the driver's current malaise, saying: 'Yes, we had a lot of success but it was also fun along the way. It looks like though he has lost his enjoyment or Formula One.
"He was phenomenal for us. He was like a metronome. You could rely on him 100 per cent.
"Now at Ferrari, where there are numerous management changes, it seems to feel a lot or responsibility falls on him directly. It is a pressure cooker. "

Recipe 1 on ESPN sees monstrous change; IndyCar excited in Phoenix An awesome few days of open-wheel dashing with two night races in the forsake, universes apart.
A couple weeks prior, I laid into ESPN for the way it took care of its first Formula 1 race communicate. I know I hit home with some of you since that article keeps on producing messages from the readership. So it is quite reasonable that I again put fingers to console early today on the grounds that the system completed a stunning piece of work demonstrating to us the Bahrain Grand Prix this end of the week.
The enormous change? Continuous scope from the warm-up lap directly through to the post-race meet on the platform. Those of you who recommended that the arrangement was finding a solitary patron for the whole communicated? Great reasoning—it appears that is precisely what happened. Moms' Polish ventured up and purchased the publicizing for the whole race, saving us the shaking background of business softens that cut up and out with no notice or recap. Also, what a distinction it made! Well done ESPN, and keep it up.
A key race, yet a decent one
Not at all like numerous different arrangement, F1 races are frequently an intricate round of technique that set aside opportunity to play out. What's more, this end of the week in Bahrain, we really got a holding fight. The Ferraris of Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen had the crude speed to stake out the front column of the framework in qualifying, with the additional solace of realizing that Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes-AMG would begin with a five-put punishment because of a gearbox change on Friday.
Going into the race, everybody anticipated that would see the Ferraris split the 57-lap race up into three sections, halting for crisp tires twice. Vettel and Raikkonen began on the supersoft elastic, alongside Mercedes' Valteri Bottas. We accepted they would finish a short spell on these tires previously swapping to the delicate alternative, at that point come back to the supersofts for a short last stretch of extremely quick laps. The autos now would have consumed off the greater part of their fuel and consequently been at their lightest.
With Hamilton beginning further back in the pack, Mercedes selected to play the continuance amusement. He began the race on the delicate tire and looked set to finish the greater part of the race on the hardest compound Pirelli conveyed to Bahrain, the white-sidewalled medium compound. Vettel ceased first of the leaders, changing to the delicate tires on lap 18. Raikkonen did likewise a lap later, yet on lap 20 Mercedes played its cards, putting Bottas on the medium tires. Hamilton set on lap 26 (for a similar medium tires), and by the midpoint of the race, it was clear he most likely couldn't get Vettel.
Be that as it may, Bottas could. Vettel was going quick, however not sufficiently quick to give him the edge he expected to influence a moment pit to stop without being surpassed. So Ferrari settled on design B: Vettel would make his delicate tires last whatever remains of the race—an aggregate of 39 laps. What's more, he'd need to do it with no assistance from Raikkonen; on lap 35, the Finn came in for his second pit stop while everything turned out badly. Three delicate tires fell off and were supplanted by three crisp supersofts. Be that as it may, the left back wouldn't move. F1 pit stops are lighting quick—some place around the three-second range nowadays—and groups like Ferrari utilize a computerized framework to advise their drivers when it's a great opportunity to go ahead.
In any case, its framework works by checking when every one of the four wheels are safely affixed, and it couldn't tell that one of them was as yet the old tire—four secure wheel nuts equivalents "Go!" Raikkonen left his pit slow down on jumbled wheels—a major no-no—and to exacerbate the situation, the stubborn left back cut one of his mechanics, Francesco Cigarini, all the while. Raikkonen finished his race a couple of hundred feet up the pit path, Cigarini went to doctor's facility with a cracked shinbone and fibula, and Ferrari earned a $61,576 (€50,000) fine for a hazardous discharge.
Inside his auto, Vettel was beginning to sweat. As he related in the repercussions of the race, he understood it would have been close:
I went ahead the radio with around 10 laps to go and stated, "I have everything under control." I don't know whether they communicate that. Be that as it may, it was a lie; there was nothing under control! When they revealed to me the pace of Vatteri around then, there was no chance I could do that. I was making the maths inside the auto with 10 laps to go—at that pace, he will get me! I attempted to keep it as spotless as could reasonably be expected. Both Mercedes toward the finish of their stretches were extremely solid, as of now in the first. When they went onto the medium I imagined that is checkmate, since we needed to come in once more. That was the first arrangement, yet then we occupied clearly, and the tires, I attempted to make them last, breast fed them as much as I can, and it worked. Be that as it may, just!
The win is Vettel's 49th of his profession, and it occurred amid his 200th Formula 1 race. (Michael Schumacher, Jenson Button, Nico Rosberg, and Lewis Hamilton likewise each won their 200th F1 races.)
IndyCar excited in Phoenix
From a race held in a leave around evening time to another. Curiously, I really got an email from a peruser this end of the week about IndyCar. He wasn't content with NBC Sports' introduction of the race, especially concerning the issues the system was having with its sound blend—you could hear the autos a considerable measure superior to the pundits. Be that as it may, I'll admit, I truly delighted in the oval race in Phoenix. Sebastian Bourdais was straight from his win at the season opener in St. Petersburg, Florida, and he qualified his auto on the post. He and kindred Frenchman Simon Pagenaud ruled the initial 60 laps, at that point both had the mishap to reach mechanics when leaving their pits—fortunately neither brought about wounds like the Ferrari occurrence.
The mile-long ISM Raceway in Phoenix is the main oval race on the IndyCar plan, and by the later stages in the race, the marbles (the bits of elastic that take off the tires as they corrupt amid the race) had developed to the degree that surpassing was turning into a hazardous business. Ed Jones discovered this out the most difficult way possible on lap 229, attempting to move beyond a back marker. He finished his night in the divider, a miserable end to a solid race. That caused a late-race alert and set us up for a dash to the wrap up.
The dash came down to a two-route fight between protecting champion Josef Newgarden, driving for Penske, and arrangement new kid on the block Robert Wickens, some portion of a resurgent Schmidt Peterson Motorsports exertion. It's Wickens' first year in IndyCar, yet the skilled Canadian put over the most recent couple of years in the wildly focused DTM arrangement in Germany (think German NASCAR) where he won a few races. He additionally relatively won his presentation IndyCar in St Pete yet was taken out by an excessively driven move by Alexander Rossi in the end phases of that one.
Wickens drove the restart, trailed by his partners James Hinchcliffe and Rossi, every one of the three on worn tires. Each of the three shunned halting amid the last alert, picking rather to keep track position. Newgarden opted for new elastic and made brisk work of Rossi and Hinchcliffe. Yet, Wickens—driving in his first oval race, recollect—completed an amazing activity of holding the youthful American champion under control for three laps. In the long run the unavoidable happened, and Newgarden overcame the high line thus 2 to get the lead on lap 246, completing the race four laps later with a three-second lead. Wickens clutched second, with Rossi third.
The differentiations between this present end of the week's F1 and IndyCar completes were a decent delineation of the contrasts between the arrangement. I frequently discuss the way each dashing arrangement needs to adjust three contending requests: being a game, being a building exercise, and being great diversion. I don't believe there's one right recipe, and each game needs to choose for itself what the blend ought to be. At the present time, on the off chance that you need edge-of-your-situate, yell at-the-screen energy, IndyCar has you secured (the autos likewise look tremendous this year). Furthermore, if Bahrain would anything say anything was to pass by, might F1 give us a cerebral clash of procedure to last the 2018 season? I positively trust so.

There was a very brief moment in 2005 when it seemed that Ferrari could challenge the title – and it was not in the United States when only four opponents made them could record.
It came on an exciting afternoon in Imola. Kimi Raikkonen led the way before he was forced to retire, handing over the leadership to Fernando Alonso

The last hurray of the great Juan Manuel Fangio and it was perhaps his greatest of all the incredible drive that he had to produce on dem the nurturing and demanding circuit of the Nürburgring. Fangio & # 39; s biggest threat to the race was the Ferrari & # 39; s from Mike Hawthorn and Peter Collins who had chosen to run on full tanks without pitstops.
After a mistake in the lead, a mistake from a technician saw that he lost another 30 seconds and he came in third place, 48 seconds behind Collins.
From there the loading began.
After passing both, Fangio enjoyed the final lap before he achieved his final F1 victory, one in which he reflected: & # 39; I have never driven so fast in my life before and I think not that I will ever be able to do it again. & # 39;

& # 39; This is terrible, this is pretty horrible, this is the worst start of a Grand Prix I have ever seen in my life. & # 39;
The race started with a collision with 13 cars in severe weather conditions and never seemed to rise once it got underway
Damon Hill took the lead at the restart but became quickly passed by Michael Schumacher who was then looking for an easy victory. However, blinded by rain, he rode David Coulthard in the back, trying to hit the McLaren driver, leaving them both out of the race.

Schumacher was so angry that after & # 39; three-wheeled & # 39; his car back to the pitlane that I tried to physically confront the Scot after storming in the McLaren garage. resumed the lead but was quickly picked up by Jordan teammate Ralf Schumacher. With Jordan for their first win and one for two, Hill pressed team boss Eddie Jordan to prevent Schumacher from passing, claiming that they would be able to collide both drivers and fail to achieve a historic result
Jordan admitted, and after a few radio messages, Schumacher finally obeyed the order not to pass Hill who sealed his last Formula 1 victory.

Given McLaren's advantage over many of his rivals, this seemed like a simple task, but not for the first time in Brazil, rain.
It started to fall in the final stages of the race, and Hamilton as well as all the front runners except Timo Glock pitted
In addition to the pit stops, Massa effectively led the entire race from pole position and was ready to be crowned as world champion when he crossed the finish line.
But when the rain became more intense, Glock's grooved tires had lost all grip and followed the last corner. Hamilton passed the Toyota to regain fifth and snatched the title away from Massa – leaving a previously festive Ferrari garage stunned.
