Having intersectional feminism as a framework to talk about the experiences of indigenous women, immigrant women and women of color would be so useful.
Instead the language has been stolen by the mens rights activists in the trans rights movement and is now about men and their right to opress women.
We will never know what progress could have been made if intersectional feminism was allowed to continue and evolve.

One of my favourite things about S2 was that we got to see so much in terms of Ed's relationships with women, and it just made me love him even more (if that's humanly possible). We didn't see him interact with many women at all in S1 (I think it was only the posh ladies at the fancy party which was...yeah, not a good experience), so S2 actually giving us a glimpse into his friendships with all these (very different) kickass women was so, so special.
I love that, as messy and fucked up as they all are, and even with the 'well we're pirates, we're not normal and we will fuck with each other' threat that hangs over everything, Ed's relationship with Mary and Anne is still so affectionate, and they both thrown their arms around him the moment they see him. Even though Ed is incredibly tactile, I don't think we've actually ever seen him be hugged like this, and it's just so lovely to watch him be embraced and clearly feel very safe being embraced by these women (and I can't with the way he clings to them, as well). I also love that this is a wlw/mlm friendship; yeah it falls apart later and turns into delicious gay-on-gay violence (and I wouldn't alter a note of it), but I love seeing this sort of affection between queer women and queer men, there's not nearly enough of it.
Don't even get me started on the BFF handshake he has with Anne - I want all the history there, give me six spin-off films about their adventures please.
And then we finally get a glimpse of his relationship with Jackie, which is similarly just lovely, but in a different way? You get the sense that they could sit there for hours, talking shit about the world, all whilst casually ripping the shit out of each other (but affectionately). You also know full well these two have talked extensively about men and know pretty much everything about each other's sex lives - we didn't see it, but I'm absolutely certain that Ed went into full gushing details about sleeping with Stede, just like Jackie did when she talked about The Swede fucking like a jackhammer (historical accuracy ftw).
And, again, whilst they're still pirates, and it's messy, the entire thing feels incredibly...safe, particularly from Ed's perspective? He feels more comfortable around Jackie than he is around most other characters (apart from Stede), just like he was with Anne and Mary.
And then, just to hammer the point home even further that Ed has, generally, fantastic relationships with women, and connects with them, and feels relaxed and safe with them, you have Ed and Zheng becoming instant BFFs literally minutes after meeting each other. Ed goes 'ooh, very cool woman kicking ass and killing people, she shall be my best friend, immediately', and Zheng is automatically incredibly relaxed and open with him, too (suggesting she feels as safe and comfortable with him as he does with her).
All I want in life is to see Ed and Zheng get silly-drunk with each other (and this is why we urgently need a S3).
And none of Ed's relationships with these women are a fetishistic 'I love women because they're fabulous' thing, or an overly patronising paternalistic 'I love the women and I must protect them' thing - all the relationships he has with women are very equal, very comfortable, fully believable, just fantastic friendships to watch play out. I feel like, given everything we see on screen, Ed generally feels a lot more comfortable and safe and open with the women he knows than the men he knows (Stede is the only other person he is this physically affectionate and comfortable with). Which is probably very understandable? Yes, the women he's friends with are all violent pirates too (that's part of the joy of it - none of them are lovely demure morally pure women, they're all violent pirates), but Ed has a lot of experience with specifically overtly abusive men - right back to watching his dad abuse his mum. And that's a distinction that matters: the show treats the violence of normal piracy and the violence of abuse very, very differently. Ed is not used to being treated softly or affectionately by men, as we saw in his shocked reaction to Stede holding his hand. I don't think it's any wonder that he gravitates more towards friendships with women (or that the men he feels the most open and safe with, such as Stede, Fang, even Frenchie, are very pointedly the opposite of the abusive men he has experience with). I just love love love that being friends with women is such a core part of Ed's character, and that we got to see all of these fantastic relationships in the show.

One day in class this week we were talking about intellectuals. I had the kids write down who they considered to be intellectual in order to break down what is actually considered intellectual vs what is pedantic.
I had this one male student raise his hand and gave two names. The first was general and anticipated. He said Oppenheimer because the movie was out and he knew a new guy. Cool, put him on the board no problem. The next though, I thought we were done with.
"Andrew Tate"
Now here's a thing about teaching. It can be crushing to not validate kids. It's always a risk to raise your hand and volunteer information. Because it is early in the school year, I don't have as strong of an understanding with students and they don't know me yet. One wrong answer, one invalidation might make the difference for the rest of the year. So I'm in a spot here. I took a deep breath and answered
"No."
I don't think the kid was quite expecting so simple a reaction and so had had the "I don't agree with everything but I agree with some of his philosophy" ready and in the chamber.
"No."
And then I started explaining that philosophy or not, Tate and all the Tate wannabes out there don't believe in philosophies a single bit. Their sole purpose is to spread misogyny and puff themselves up by subjugating women (and other men, if I am being honest). We do not give lip service to people whose goal is domination and so his name does not go up on my board.
There wasn't a round of applause or a standing ovation or anything like that. 12th graders are waaay too cool for any of that. But I noticed an easing of tension in some of my students. My class became a little safer for them. Those that were laughing at first about the Tate suggestion were no longer laughing. They knew where I stood and knew not to push it. They knew that the jokes wouldn't fly.
I thanked the kid for the opportunity for a teachable moment and suggested he find better heroes. And honestly? Honestly he apologized. That's it right there. He's going to remember this moment next time. He thinks twice about it. He knows that there are some areas where he has to watch what he says. It isn't a lot. But it is what I have to make a small change. Kids hear their teachers calling out misogyny and it gives them license to do the same. It halts the behavior. Maybe it is only in my class and maybe it doesn't stick forever. But they will remember. And it gets a little harder to be sexist.
I have a lot to learn and I know I make mistakes, but I hope I can apologize when I fuck up too just like this kid. Lord knows I was once a teenage asshole as well. Shit, hopefully by posting this I haven't made some error in my reasoning. But if I have, maybe that'll be a teachable moment as well.

team bread ?!?
side-eyeing aside, how do you feel about this upcoming splatfest ?
Upcoming Splatfest? You mean the Grand Fest right?
I'm gonna assume that is what you're talking about and you know what? I'M SO DAMN HYPED FOR IT!
WE'RE GETTING A BRAND NEW HUB FOR THIS SPLATFEST!!! AND ITS A FUCKING CONCERT WITH GOD DAMN ELECTRONIC RAVE REMIXES OF THE IDOLS SONGS! AND THERE'S INK EVERYWHERE AND UGHHH!!! I LOVE IT!!! ITS GONNA BE SO INSANE IM GONNA CRY I SWEAR TO GODDDDDD!!!!
If I hear Calamari Inkantation remixed by all three of the groups, I will not shut up about it for the next 4 years until we get Splatoon 4. I'm gonna be so fucking annoying and I won't apologise for it.
I mean sure the theme is kind of predictable but hey, it presents some interesting philosophical questions just like how Chaos vs. Order did, and i find those kinds of Splatfests to be the best ones. It's less about an Idol war or some useless shit, but it actually brings about genuine philosophical discussions and I love that!
I know that a lot of people are freaking out about the consequences about this Splatfest, myself included. If Team Past wins, will we go back to the past and never see Callie, Marie, Pearl, Marina, etc, for the next 5 to 7 years? If Team Future wins, will Callie and Marie be old women, and will the other characters we've grown to love.... pass away?
After thinking about it and seeing tweets from people on Twitter discuss it, nah, i don't think either of those outcomes will happen. Remember when people were making a fuss about if Chaos wins that Inkopolis would be covered in flames and be destroyed? Looked at what happened in Splatoon 3. Chaos was just an aesthetic for the new location Splatsville, the Idols, music, etc, and the Inkopolis we know ended up being okay!
If Team Future wins we might get a cool futuristic aesthetic for Splatoon 4 but it'll still be in the same timespan as Splatoon 3! Same with Team Past! Team Present will be the same sort of aesthetic we have currently duh. Obviously it'll be a few years after Splatoon 3 but I'm sure the characters we know we'll be okay!.... right?.... right nintendo?
I think the reason why people say that is because Nintendo has gone on record and said that Splatoon 3 is the "finale of the Splatoon saga" but they only mean the story mode of that game as ROTM tied up everything together theme wise in a neat trilogy. Callie, Marie, and everyone you like will come back because it would be a terrible financial and story decision to get rid of them. How will Nintendo sell new amiibo and merchandise? Off the Hook is so god damn popular and they would obviously come back in new outfits to sell new amiibo. Come on guys. Think like a business person for a second here.
I genuinely don't understand why some fans are so fucking adamant on wanting a clean reboot and to never see these characters again. Why do you want that SOOOO badly? I see that shit a lot on the Splatoon reddit man.
You don't wanna see these two again? Some of the best written characters in the series? You never wanna see these gay cephalopods ever again?!
YOU NEVER WANNA SEE THESE THREE GOOFBALLS THAT WE ALL LOVE AGAIN?!?! THEY HAVE SO MUCH STORY POTENTIAL AND YOU WANT THAT TO BE WASTED?!? FOR WHAT?!?!
And.... you don't wanna see the OGs again? You never wanna see Callie and Marie EVER AGAIN? The most iconic characters in the franchise, up there with the Inklings themselves!!! They have gone through so much and it's clear that Nintendo wants to keep them around, Marie has said in the Splatune 3 interview that she feels like she has an important role in creating the next generation of Idols. And yet... after what the shit they have gone through... you want them gone?
I truly don't believe you want that. Unless you don't really care about them...
Anyways, I am very much excited for the Grand Fest, so much so that thinking about it is giving me weird feelings in my chest. All of the screenshots I'm gonna take... eeeeee.... God help me.

Fanon Lukas family tree!! Well, it's for my AU, but I'm sure we can make it work for canon as well ahah
& dark mode... it looks cool okay
I've been working on it for a month lowkey, ever since I started on that Evan/Naomi wip, just... Slowly building up lore and a story and characters and rough estimates of ages and tidbits of brainstorming and a timeline and daddy issues and coming up with names and in this case, well, superpowers too because that's what the AU is about. But anyways, I'm super excited to dig in further, because YES all of these characters pretty much have some amount of personality and interesting details about them so far. Woohoo!! It's also interesting for the same reasons Gerry is interesting; because powers pass down genetically!! Yeehaw!! I get to give them all slightly different versions of the same powers and see how it informs their relationships!
You can see here what was basically my very first version of it. How underdeveloped! It grew a lot, damn. Also some minor changes I made along the way, as for the reasons why... Well they're pretty interesting if I do say so myself, I'll talk about those later. Have fun spotting the differences if you'd like lol
Still, a few general notes so far:
I believe the only Lukases mentionned in canon are Peter, Mordechai (in the 1800's), Nathaniel (owner of their cargo company so presumably some sort of patriarch), Conrad (the guy who talked to the astronauts before shooting them into space) and Evan Lukas. To that I added Virginia, an OC but like come on we need some women represent around here. I've always interpreted Nathaniel as being Peter's uncle, so i put him there. Nathaniel should be the one in charge in my mind too, so I made him the grandfather of the main line/evan's line (because evan is sort of the main character here). I also wanted to keep peter away from the main branch because... Well i don't know. I just didn't want him to be Evan's dad I guess. Or else, you've got that specific branch of the family that gets all the spotlight and important canon characters, and everybody else kinda sucks. It's not ideal!
I originally planned on leaving Peter's branch of the family pretty blank to be honest just because I wasn't super invested into him. I thought he had a sibling and a few nephews and that was it. But then I relistened to mag159, realised he had 5 (wait, 4? Oh shit, did i fuck up. Uhhhhhh) A FEW siblings and that two of them were named, Judith and Aaron. So that was interesting!
Mostly the beginning of it was just figuring out the ages to get an idea of how they should behave and how it all fit in and how far down the line they should be, and then building around it.
Oh, yeah, and based on the few canon names we got, I tried to find names that fit in. The style was... Well. The lukases' names sound to me like they're very basic. Kinda trendy, kinda... What I thought about was "cute" actually. So i tried to keep the same vibe for the rest of my made up guys. Wee-woo. Annnnd ive been rambling again.
Oh, oh right, wait no don't leave yet there were still thing I had to talk about. Few important details I knew about at the beginning stages:
-Evan's mother is a Lukas, and she's very opinionated but kind
-I wanted Nathaniel's eldest son, the one who became Graham (no, not notebook eating graham) to have a son who resents him very much. So i did that
-Adeline! She's old as balls. And very nice. Iwant her to be my grandmawmaw
-oh, right, Mordechai 2!!! For him I thought of the power first, basically he can show you things that happened in the past without having witnessed them. It's a pretty great ability imo.
-Oh, yeah, uh, every Lukas passes down their family name no matter their gender lol.

Why am I doing this again? Oh right cause I'm one of the few who will die on the that crwby ain't shit-(god if I keep ignoring writing my shitty fanfics people are just gonna assume i'm bitch made)
Oh boy here I go again poking the damn bear with my shit takes-
(also before I begin I want to ensure that my message is given context, I hate crwby as writers not as people, I hope people don't misconstrued that because otherwise that's just gonna be frustrating to deal with)
Pyrrha is a wasted character and a PRIME example that crwby can't write women.
Oh boy pyrrha Nikos where do I begin with this cardboard cut out of a character.
So since a few (and I mean A FEW) people choose to live in denial of the obvious fact that crwby cant write and that to claim they can is possibly the most bullshit statement ever.. its time to take out the belt (bout to go Hellsing abridged in this bitch)
I'm mainly using Pyrrha because she is the most GLARING example of how bad the writing of Rwby can get.
Granted I am notorious for consistently and without calling Pyrrha the worst character ever (about as bad as later volume Blake.. then again just Blake in general- hoo boy I really am gonna piss people off huh?) this is mainly due to the fact.. she's quite literally a peice of cardboard and i actively cheer whenever I rewatch her death... Ok that last bit was an over exaggeration but you get the point.
Now to begin why I actively believe Pyrrha is terrible, we need to talk about.. the noodle knight.. sometimes I despise the fact I like jaune but regardless-
Jaune as a character is fundamentally a side character... Yet he has consistent screen time.. again.. and again.. and again. To the point where you could jokingly say he's the real main character since Crwby just love putting him in as much screen time as possible. (However I more take it as the fact jaune is just a scapegoat for Crwbys incompetence. But that's for when I piss of the rwde aspect of the community, because oh boy.. is there an argument I want to rip to shreds and call blatant bullshit.)
But outside of the screentime he is mildly interesting and has made a few actions that add dimension to the character... But why do I bring up jaune when talking about Pyrrha? It's due to the fact Pyrrha's entire character revolves around jaune.
Pyrrha is rarely shown to interact with the rest of JNPR, it's practically non-existent if jaune is not somewhere.
But some of you might say (and honestly I don't blame you and would agree with you) "Pyrrha is a side character, she doesn't need depth." To which.. yes... But she was a part of team JNPR, her death is treated as if it should have affected everyone. Hell her death caused ruby to awaken her silver eyes. But there's one problem.. technically two
1. Team JNPR (or more accurately JNR) are still active participants in the cast, you'd think them being side characters they would eventually be thrown away.. but they aren't. So that would supposedly mean their important.. which includes Pyrrha but if that's the case then why isnt she given depth, you can't three people of an extra be important enough to be a part of the cast and given development but Also have the other team member not be given some given some kind of development, that doesn't work either don't give development to ALL OF THEM or do the inverse.
2. she isn't shown to interact with team Rwby by herself, she's never given any scenes to show that she is friends with ATLEAST ruby, so her death impacting others that SHOULD be her friends doesn't make sense now because there's no scenes with her interacting with them by herself.
Every scene that is pivotal is in some form or way connected to Jaune, but even though characters like her can be good if written well, she isn't.
Pyrrha is never once given anything that is specifically to show off her, she's always written to focus on jaune. Even her death which was supposed to affect all of team Rwby and Jnr only was shown to affect jaune.
To many it may seem like it's not an issue she only showed up for three volumes before kicking the bucket and dying. So what's the point of talking about her?
Well from me specifically, the problem is the fact Pyrrha is not a rare case of bad writing, not just for characters either, may I remind you all of the white fang subplot. Don't worry I won't go into too much detail I'm writing an entirely different post about how the faunus/white fang subplot got swept under the rug because surprise surprise crwby writers are shitty at writing.
Alright time to get on my soapbox to sound all high and mighty.
to explain it simply. The white fang arc was supposed to be a lesson that is meant to talk about how racism is wrong and the fact that it only hurts innocent people, (both of obviously the oppressed and the innocent people who are unintentionally associated with the oppressor, hatred breeds hatred y'all know the phrase) but instead its not even given anything specific. This is especially a problem considering one of our main characters is supposed to be the protagonist that helps talk about the issue. Instead of anything specific that shows the faunus are oppressed and that humanity still has extremely bigoted and shitty people all we get is.. cardin and that's about it.. and then in volume 5 (or 4 I unfortunately lose track sometimes) it's just wrapped up with.. Adam being taken down and the white fang essentially being forgotten about.. the white fang, you know the organization that is full of faunus who do want equality but are somewhat misguided.. their apparently just disbanded after the piss baby that is "Adam Taurus" just gets defeated.. is it me or doesn't it make more sense to atleast hear mention of some white fang stragglers who still misguidedly fight in the name of equality. Honestly it feels like it got rushed and not properly expanded on.
To put it bluntly I find it just so weird that crwby has been shown to not be able to handle topics that are a little more nuanced and decided to sweep it under the rug, same with writing characters that could be interesting, but instead are just turned into cardboard cut outs. Yet there are people who claim that Rwby is better than any media *cough cough* the Twitter bastards *cough cough* which.. look i love Rwby to death, it's music is fuckin magnificent early volume versions of the characters can be.. minus jaune kinda (man does got a few bumps when it comes to being a fan) but Rwby is.. mediocre. But it's not it's fault, that's just what happens when writers aren't able to properly write a story, characters, a world for the story, literally almost every attempt at adding depth to rwby.
Ok.. I'm fuckin tired I'm expecting a lot of people to disagree (I'm praying the majority aren't just gonna throw insults and nothing else because honestly that just makes anyone look stupid.
Alright time to get off the soap box and return to the cave where I write shitty Rwby fanfics and equally shitty original story.

GAP The Series Episode 9 Thoughts
After the way we left things off at the end of episode 8, I really really need us to get an apology (or rather Mon should get the apology) in the first half of this episode, and for the truth about Kirk to be revealed. I'm tired of his ass and the drama his secrets bring, and I just want the sapphics kissing and fucking dammit!
So yeah, let's kick things off.
Aaaaand of course we're starting with my baby girl Mon crying her eyes out, with Sam's words ringing in her head. As someone who still remembers the horrible things my lovers have said in a fit of anger, this totally tracks. Words can't be taken back. It's why they haunt us, coloring our interactions with others, sinking their claws into the essence of who we are, and erasing our self-esteem with every trickle of their poison. Now, I know Sam is the way she is because of her witch of a grandmother, and Mon not telling her the truth about Kirk (which I still lay at the feet of Kirk because that piece of shit basically took advantage of his position and Mon's sweet nature to push her into keeping a secret she shouldn't have had to keep in the first place!!! He's just as terrible a boss as Sam!!), triggered those feelings of suspicious and distrust, causing her to lash out, but personally, I want to see her acknowledge that her words do hurt. Both truths can exist. Sam is the way she is because of the abuse she's suffered at the hands of her grandmother. But also, Sam's treatment of, and words to Mon, (not just what happened with Kirk, but since she started working for her), is horrible, and I really hope that this show has someone call her out on it, at the very least, cuz if I was the one in this universe and watching this mess, she won't like my words.
2. Y'all know how much I love this show, and these two women. They've been serving me EVERYTHING I wanted, since the very first episode. But I swear, I need to have a conversation with the writer. I find it very troubling that Mon's only upset right now, seems to be her worry that Sam doesn't love her anymore. There's a prioritization of Sam's feelings over Mon's pain in the start of this episode that just has me screaming at my screen at this point, because the writers in the room, made certain choices that I don't agree with.
3. But honestly, this is one of the most beautiful shot shows!!! That visual of Mon lying down on her bed, being surrounded by her mix of pink and white teddies and pillow, with her pale skin and pink lips and the black hair is GIVING!!!!!!!!
4. The way I hissed at Kirk's annoying voice and his talking about telling Sam the truth about his Facebook identity. Like DUDE, THAT IS NOT THE SECRET WE WANT YOU TO SHARE! Tell Sam about your backstabbing, traitorous ways!!! I swear, I can't believe I went from thinking of him as a good egg, to wanting to enter the screen so I can strangle his ass!!!
5. The audacity of him saying he's told Sam the whole truth when WE KNOW there's still more he's hiding from her. Trash! Trash! Also, Sam isn't jealous at your supposed affair with Mon because she wants you. She's jealous because her girlfriend keeps getting caught in compromising positions with your no-personal-space-respecting ass!
6. Kirk, don't try and be charming, it doesn't suit you. Don't try and flirt. Sam doesn't want you. Don't try and be complimentary, Sam doesn't need you to boost her ego. Just sit there and be the useless, lying fucker you are. Don't try and pretend to be someone you're not. We see you!!
7. I love how Sam thinks she can just show up, and Mon would jump to see her. Hell to the nah! Not after all the vile VILE things you said. Fuck that shit! Good on Mon for insisting on not seeing Sam. Make her work for it my darling. Make her WORK FOR IT!!
8. Shout out to Sam for recognizing just how amazing Mon's mum is, and that she's a core part of the reason why Mon grew up to be so gracious and lovable. Teacher Pohn, you deserve all the applause and all the flowers!! Take you for your generous spirit and your kind heart. Best mum award goes to you!! To think that both you and that witch of a grandmother exist in the same timeline. Smh. Honestly, whenever we get a glimpse into Mon's family and just the love she was raised with, I feel even sorrier for Sam. I imagine just how restrictive it must have been for child Sam to live with a grandmother like that, who's more focused on prestige and her bringing "honour" to their house, rather than Sam's own happiness.
9. Sam's heartbroken expression at Mon ignoring her and walking past, is breaking my own heart. Urgh!! See, this is why you have to be careful what you say, and realize just how much you can hurt the girl you love. You need to apologize Sam. Really apologize. Not the apology where you spin things around, and avoid stating exactly how you fucked up. You need to be honest, and own up to that shit, cuz you really really hurt your girl.
10. Mon's stepdad is awesome and he gives great advice. But I also resent the fact that what he's saying is from a position where he holds incomplete facts. He thinks that Sam and Mon's relationship is purely professional, and I can see why he believes that Mon's boss coming all the way to their house and patiently waiting to see Mon, after they had a "fight" is rare and commendable. But we the audience know that that isn't the case, and as much as I love his advise of speaking out and clearing the air by talking about the fight, I hope the writers find a way to work it into the conversation that Mon has every right to be upset, and that Sam is aware of that. But knowing the writers and how society has a way of villainizing anger as an emotion, I'm not holding my breath.
11. This is so unfair!! Khun Sam!! You know acting adorably is our weakness. How can you split between playacting like the little ghost baby and a dog in one scene??? How is Mon meant to hold onto her anger when you act so cute??? How am I????? Urgh!!! This is so unfair!!!!!
12. My baby Sam. Look at that honest, sincere apology!!! There was a bit of worry for a moment that she was going to gloss over it (girl, no one buys that when you basically called Mon a two-timer, you meant that in a "she's beautiful and clever" way. Don't try and play us.), but she powered through, and apologized sincerely and honestly. Sure she might have centered herself a little in the apology (would it really be Sam if she doesn't? Not like y'all should do that though. If you are apologizing and suddenly start talking about how the rift caused you to lose sleep, and how you don't feel too good, dial it back several notches. The apology is meant to center the aggrieved party's pain, not yours), but that was soon left behind as she was honest with her jealousy and was sincere with wanting to do right by Mon. You know what we call that????
13. Sam's pleased nod, at Mon loving the dinner set up has me grinning like a fool. Sam my beloved! Why are you so increasingly adorable???? Falling in love suits you so much my beloved!!!
14. And the gift giving!!! Her going to the same accessories stand that she had initially criticized for being "cheap", and purchasing matching bracelets for her and Mon??? Sam! My heart! Sweetheart!!! You are redeeming yourself at such a quick pace!!!
15. Hehehehehe. I love how drinking a scotch whiskey for them, is part of their foreplay for having sex. Rofl! You go my queens. Get it on!! Let loose! Get it on!!!
16. Gghjghjghjghjghjghjg. That little squeal of Sam when Mon pushes her into the pool. So fucking cute and adorable. Hehehehe.
17. I couldn't have been the only one who moaned at that shot of Mon looking down at Sam while the latter was in the pool right. Cuz fuuuuuuuck.
18. Aaaaaaand they are following it up with them making out in the pool. My mouth is dry. Fuck. This show is killing me. Sam's head being tossed back. The way she's licking her lips. The deep breaths. The fingers to her mouth. The camera panning to where we don't see Mon but we know she's there, tossing Sam's salad, and eating her out. Their two hands around Sam's throat? This fucking show! This fucking show. I'm too horny for this. RIP to my ass. This show has fucking killed me!!!
19. The fact that my eyes which have just been blessed by my lesbians, lesbianing, are now being tainted by Kirk and his heterosexual red roses, and entitled pushing of Sam to go on a date with him, is homophobic and should be classified as a hate crime!
20. Nita in that red jumpsuit though, is giving Scooby Doo-Monster unleashed!!!!
21. Aaaaand of course Nita noticed the couple bracelets. That sharp-eyed look, and the smirk after she makes the connection?? I WANT THIS WOMAN TO RUIN ME!! Just one night. That's all I ask!!!
22. Kirk strikes me as one of those pretty boys who get buy on their looks and have never had to really use their brains, which now that I think about is, an insult to those pretty boys because at least they have brains. Kirk doesn't even have an iota of a braincell cuz if he did, and if he use that singular braincell to think, he would have known that NEVER IN A MILLION LIFETIMES would Sam want to enter a joint-venture with Nita. Like how can you claim to be her fiancée and not realize this singular, basic fact?
23. I'm sorry, why... WHY would the writers think it is in ANY way okay for Sam to out Mon to Kirk? Her conversation with Kirk can easily stop at "I have a lover". That's it. That's all that she needed to say. But to bring Mon into this, to name her, to her soon to be ex-fiancee, in their workplace, when she is very much aware that her employees are nosy and they might even be eavesdropping on this conversation, and even if they aren't, WHY WOULD YOU OUT MON TO KIRK??? What the fuck!
24. Aaaaaaand she stalks off, after outing Mon, leaving her alone with her now ex-fiancee, a man who probably feels that he's been made a fool of... I have a migraine. With the way the writers keep writing Sam and the choices she makes, it's like one step forward and two steps back for me.
25. Nita taking the opportunity to hit on Sam is doing things to me because fuuuuuck, they look so good together, and you know shit would be smoking hot between them both!!
26. I love that Sam immediately shuts her down, but seriously Sam. This is twice in two scenes, back-to-back that you have outed your girlfriend, without confirming that she is okay with coming out. What the fuck are the writers thinking??? Why do they think this is in any way okay???
27. Sam's delusions in thinking that Kirk will "understand" has me shaking my head so hard. Girl, you give that man way too much credit. When will it occur to you that that man likes to make decisions on your behalf, without considering whether or not that's what you actually want???? You seemingly "broke his heart", admitted that you have been having an affair with the girl he's seemingly been bearing his heart to, and you think he's a-okay???
28. Ha!!! I totally called Yha and Chin having an affair!!! Sam's reaction to catching them is peak hilarity though!!! But, please tell me why I didn't clock that Chin has a wife?? Why didn't I know this? Was it mentioned, but I didn't remember it? Cuz I'm going through my memories of his character being introduced but I can't remember them mentioning his wife.
29. Sam's "I only come to work to look at your face" statement is so valid. I feel you on it girlfriend. Capitalism fucking sucks. Why work when you can be gay????
30. Yo! Are they about to have sex in the office????? Which no complaints, but is that door locked???? If there's anything we learned from the History that Shall not be Named, Also known as History: Salt is the ultimate villain, it is that ALWAYS LOCK THE DOOR!! ALWAYS!!!
31. Sam's hand on Yah's head as she pushes her out of the office is sending me!!!!
32. GAP is giving me the workplace romance I didn't know I NEEDED!!! That sex scene in the office? Jesus!!! This show's making up for edging us for so many episodes !!! GAP is like "they took forever to kiss", and now that they have, there shall fuck on every single available surface, and I am utterly grateful to them for doing that!!! Hehehehe.
33. I'm sorry, how the hell is Mon standing in front of the mirror, and can't notice that her lipstick is smudged, and she looks well and truly debauched.
34. Yha's "ooooooh. Haaaaaaa. Ooooooooh". I AM DEAD!!! DEAD!!!!!
35. Too many people are learning about Mon and Sam's relationship. I suspect their relationship won't stay a secret for long, at this rate.
36. Cher is so hot! Fuck!!! All the women in this show are fucking hot. It's the hair, plus the shirt and the teasing. They just do it for me. The amount of sapphic representation we are getting in this show, is making me so goddam happy. This is what I want! THIS!!!!!!
37. The honeymoon vibes of this getaway is making me so happy. Add Risa and Cher's openly showing their love. The conversation about same-sex marriage in Thailand. This is perfect. I'm squealing so hard!!!
38. Aaaaaand of course they can't let us be happy for too long. Like I get why Mon is hesitating. She's idolized Sam for so long, and feels like she can't measure up to her. But sweetheart... SAM LOVES YOU!! Urgh! I thought the only opposition to them marrying would be Sam's grandmother. I totally didn't factor in Mon's hang-ups into the equation.
Looks like next week's episode has the honorable grandmother making an appearance and URGH!! WHY??????????? I've been thinking of who might have put her on Sam and Mon's trail, and I'm thinking it's either Kirk or Nita, cuz I only trust those two as far as I can throw them, which isn't very far!!!
Next week's definitely going to be a doozy. Brace yourselves everyone!!!

IPKKND S:1 EP-4
I don't know why but I feel strangely exhausted today. Eh! Just one of those days.
Fourth Episode of Iss pyaar ko kya naam doon, here we come
"Maine tumse pehle bhi kaha hai, apni aukaat me raha karo" Sir, what?!
We just started and he's got her beat again. Let my girl vent once. I want her to say some real ugly stuff, he deserves it.
"Kyu... Kya kiya maine? "This bitch! Look at his smug face.
Girl, stop clutching your Kurta and try to snap back at least.
There he goes, Score 4:0
Yeah, sure! Follow him and preach about God. Definitely the next best course of action.
Look at him talking about dard, you're not the only one who has endured pain in life, buddy, it doesn't give you the right to be an asshole or to harass women.
I thought the speech would be about him being a dick the last time they met and possibly a threat of lodging a harassment complaint.
But go off, Khushi, tell him how big and universal God is, whom Arnav doesn't even believe in. Seems like it should work.
Damn! I was just being sarcastic but looks like it actually worked, he looks pissed.
Where are you even scurrying off to? Oh right! She has to apologize to a lot of people.
Fuck! I knew that the fashion show footage would be on the news but I didn't predict that Arnav would do it to take revenge.
Lol, he cares more about a girl who made a lousy speech than his own company's reputation.
I can't say this enough, the sister and the dad are the most sweetest.
Who was the groom, anyway? Are we ever gonna meet him?
Oh, she mentioned the missing pearls.
I feel bad for my girl, sexual harassment is not a joke, it can be so traumatizing.
Yay! The return of 'Laard Governer'.
Did this man just called him 'bhai'
"Bhai, navratre chal rahe hai" same here dude, perfectly matched the timing.
Let's not oversell, Khushi.
You barely made a dent and it still made him mad.
"Chote log aksar aukaat se bada mooh kholte hai" There's no end to this shit.
This guy seems really close to Arnav. Wonder what's their deal?
We are in for a dance sequence, I guess.
Or more like casual fun.
The mother saw, she is gonna be even more upset.
Not the freeze with the broom right in her face.
Mom! Come be a part of this.
Yes, coax her in. I want to spend some good moments with the mother, I feel like she has been sulking from the very start.
That's right! collective Bua slander is what we live for in this house.
"Aap hi ki beti hu na?"
Let's go! Be the wholesome family you all deserve.
I already know the dad's gonna be a part of it. So stop with the tense music.
Aghh this Bua needs to shut the fuck up and get out of the house.
Why is your head aching Bua? Aap ne hi to sabke sar me dard kar rakha hai.
Thanks Dad! Keep your daughter away from this poisonous bitch.
What's with this nosy caterer? I guess we are not done with our toxicity quota of the day yet.
Somebody shoot this motherfucker down, please.
That's your signal, Khushi. Tear this man a new one.
Nice, so that's her thing, she is good with accounting stuff.
The dad is so proud of her as well.
I wish the sister was here too but she is stuck making chai for the Bua at home.
What a weird shooting set! The fake stars, disco balls, and a backdrop that looks like someone upscaled a screenshot of a Google image. Not to mention the bad lighting. Like what exactly are you even shooting for?
Are those the dresses from the Runway? Because they look just as terrible.
He basically called him a kutta and I am not surprised.
But I don't understand why won't he just throw money at his face if he is so rich.
Are padaaa!
He shouldn't have challanged Arnav's childhood trauma.
Don't talk about people's mother disrespectfully in general, though.
Another one!
2 Crores for two slaps. I wish I got a deal like that. I'd be a billionare by now, if only my mother beating me counted.
Back to Bua ji. 🙄
Fuck! she'll discover the footage first. That's not gonna end well.
What the fuck is this news reporter?
No but why are the needless arrows and circles so absurdly accurate, I've seen it in real news channels.
The sister showed up as well.
Nah! There's no way any cameras were taking those close ups.
How did these people even saw this news?
Somebody in the crowd literally said "Dekh dekh, kaise chal rahi hai?" like what?
Of, course, they are standing in front of a television store but also how did they recognise her so fast? Am I the only person in the world who won't be able to tell even the most famous celebrity apart from a crowd. If they were not surrounded by a crew.
Holy shit! The reporter's voice over just scared me.
"Pakke hue aam ki tarah tapak jaati hai" Please! 😂I am guessing they paid the reporter or he has a personal vendetta against her because why would you deliver these statements with such intristic passion if not for money?
Okay, so it reallly picked up at the end. Excited to see what happens next. I mean I am sure this would lead to some sort of inciting incident but at the same time, it would reallly hurt to see Khushi's parents' dissapointed faces.
But let's not act like I didn't wish for more drama.
#ipkknd episode liveblogs#seriously who was that groom though?#Khushi better apologize to that man#Arnav! I also want 2 crores thrown at my face please

apologies if you've talked about this before somewhere, but I'm curious- what's your take on watching or not watching s3 of GO when it arrives at some point, knowing what we now know about Gaiman (and have had some time to absorb that)? I think there's wisdom in avoiding media by predatory males that are tainted by their misogynistic worldviews and trying to uplift female creators instead, and I generally pursue that when trying to find new stuff to read or watch (and Gaiman has been on my shit list for things in his work for a while, but I did still find GO diverting and harmless enough to watch in spite of that). but after the fact... it wouldn't bother me to watch it like it bothers me a bit to see known abuser actors in lead roles, because Gaiman's not on screen and he's also (probably) not on set abusing the cast, a la Whedon, so it's not tainted that way. Financially... well to be honest with you I'm not paying for prime anyway, so it's not like I'm monetarily supporting Gaiman anyway. And yet...a lot of people had to look the other way for a long time, and continued to give him flowers he didn't deserve. I feel like that should change something tangibly about the way we approach his work now. All those posts from other fandom women on here about denialists are 'making excuses for an abuser just because we like a tv show' don't sit right with me. Not because I'm a Gaiman defender; I believe his victims completely due to the overwhelming evidence & I think he's a vile little man who deserves to get hit by a bus. But I wonder if that's enough.
I’m sorry that this took so long for me to respond to! I wanted to make sure I got my thoughts in order before I talked about this, so thank you for your patience!
(Note I’m making after writing the below: I noticed I made this more about being a fan of GO in general, not just season 3. Because at the time I’m answering this ask, season 3 isn’t guaranteed so my mind’s more on the fandom in general)
Personally, I think there’s no “right” answer and that it’s going to be different for everyone.
Somebody who came to the show as a big fan of Neil might feel differently from somebody who became a fan of him through the show, who might feel differently from somebody who never cared for him.
For me, I never cared about him, and I don’t even mean that in a “I always hated him, look how smart I am” way. I just mean that I didn’t pay attention to him, because I very rarely pay attention to the writers of shows I like. And as far as the book goes, I paid more attention to Pratchett since it seems he was responsible for most of it. Then of course later on I had my own annoyances with Neil so I actively ignored him. So when the accusations came out, my relationship with GO didn’t really feel much different, since Neil had never been a central part of that relationship. However, I can see how somebody might feel differently if their relationship with GO involved eagerly waiting for a new post from Neil and seeking out all the work of his that they could.
I agree that we should change the way we approach his work. Focus more on how women in his works are treated, for example. I know that I’m even more uneasy about that “stable of ladies” comment from Ms Sandwich than I was before…as well as the fact that there are TWO women in Good Omens involved in the sex industry. Why? Probably because the writer is a creep who feels entitled to women’s bodies.
I don’t think that remaining a fan of GO is “making excuses” for Neil. Making excuses would be trying to find some reason to discredit the women he abused, which unfortunately has happened. I’ve seen people claiming that the whole thing was a “terf conspiracy”, to claiming that it was a tactic to interfere with the UK election, to focusing on what the victims’ personal politics might be and why that makes them bad people. I could go on and on, because people had so many wild excuses for why their favourite male had to be innocent. That’s much different than just remaining a fan while acknowledging that the writer is not a good person, and that it’s possible that his own beliefs have seeped into his writing (again, I point to the existence of Ms Sandwich and her “girls”).
I don’t think it’s right that people on here are demanding that fans of GO cut all ties with it…because the fact is, that if you love something and have been involved with it for years, you likely can’t just drop that immediately. If there are people who can do that, good for them, but I don’t think it should be expected of everyone.
Since this ask was sent, season 3 filming has been paused, presumably for “production changes”. My hope is that Neil is removed from the project, because I still really love the story of Good Omens and I would love to see it completed on screen without him around.
In short, personally I still love Good Omens and I doubt I’ll stop loving it any time soon. I feel like personally, my relationship with the story doesn’t change much, but I understand the people who feel otherwise. And now that there’s hope of season 3 continuing without him, I think it’s fine to be looking forward to it.
Most importantly, I don’t want anyone to think that my continuing to interact with the fandom is me supporting Neil. That was never the case, and it is especially not the case now.

omg al darling pls give me your queen of tears thoughts i’m really behind and need to know if it’s worth finishing <3
tbh i am also behind but i keep up with spoilers and episode recaps for everything i am watching bc i don't really care about getting spoiled. with that being said, where do i even begin? i would have loved if the show ended on a melodrama note in the second half, with the hong family having lost queens group but recouping that through baekhong's work as a lawyer and ceo respectively and with them rekindling their relationship (without marriage or another kid) while hae-in would, well, die due to some bout of medical realism that has to remain here, but with the two of them choosing each other in their lifetime, roll credits, fin. i am putting a read more from here on in bc this is sort of my thoughts on the show in general but also the second half, since describing the second half doesn't really work without talking about the set-up of the plot. plots? whatever is happening here. (also! spoilers ahead!)
of course we did not get a well-polished plot, something as sensible as this couldn't fly with the deranged fans this drama spawned like you wouldn't believe. so in a way this fanbase deserved exactly what they got lmao. this show has been crazy from the beginning bc as much as i love hae-in, people kept acting like she didn't treat hyun-woo like shit for most of their marriage when she did. he was only marginally better off, but my one big issue was that hyun-woo has to apolgize for everything he ever did, for wanting to divorce in the first place, while the show depicted right away how awful his marriage was. so now in the second half we, of course, get hyun-woo doing everything for hae-in to make up for all his audacity, like the good kdrama male lead he is (where is moon gang-tae when we need him? kim soo-hyun can act with some fire in there, so why does he not?) hae-in keeps getting worse and he is by her side, so whoo for tha ti guess and she does apologize for how she treated him after 10 eps of grovelling lmao. anyways.
they grow closer again while hae-in stays in the hospital for her treatment, but in comes mister i-still-want-to-be-cooked-over-an-open-fire-like-a-rotissiere-chicken eun-sung. i do have to say i love park sung-hoon in this drama? not as good as the psychotic bully-slash-killer-slash-second-woman he plays in the glory, but really good. it's giving kendall roy in sucession s2! it's giving this is why rich people tax middle class families until tax evasion or murder become lifestyle choices for those families! it's giving the rite of passage creepy high school boyfriend straight women go through amped up to the max! he is so good at being evil and he shines here, somehow, in all his creepy despondency and obsession with hae-in. at one point he swipes in and tells hae-in, who is losing her memory, that he saved her life and then he does it again, using the times hyun-woo's saved her as his cover story. he keeps rocking brown three-piece suits and a crazy-good blowout and side swoop while he does that, which might be the worst thing. hyun-woo punches him in the face, which is the saving grace of this entire second half of the show. he runs over hyun-woo with a car in the PENULTIMATE episode for the hell of it, because he can't see hyun-woo and hae-in be together again. the man is batshit insane and he stands by it.
as for the plot:
the head of the hong family (hae-in's grandfather) has a slush fund, because that is the second most realistic part of the show. eun-sung and his mother scrounge around to find it to take the rest of queens group, but well, i honestly don't care much about this plot. yang-gi (hyun-woo's best friend and divorce lawyer, who is apparently barred twice over in korea and can also hold up with business law and attorney work in court lol) helps lower hyun-woo's crazy ass charges, so he lives to see another day while everyone is looking for the goddamn slush fund. eun-sung and his mother found it first btw. hae-in keeps mistaking eun-sung for hyun-woo, her memory loss gets worse, we get it. several people working for eun-sung keep trying to kill hyun-woo over the span of the last five episodes. we get another reborn rich cameo from kim shin-rok, which at this point is the only thing keeping me from tuning out of this whacky ass drama. the hong family grandfather kills himself and all of kdrama twt and mdl are mad that the raised rating wasn't an explicit scene between baekhong but seeing an old man die (i kid you not). they keep trying to convince me kim soo-hyun was in the marine corps and i keep not believing it. german hospitals apparently can do life-saving surgeries on non-german citizens, which is unheard off in this neck of the woods but alas. hae-in has to trade in her memories to have that surgery, so that is our 11 o clock moment. or something. hyun-woo gets arrested by interpol right after, so there goes that dream. soo-cheol ends up with his wife again, which i care about as much as a tree cares about a leaf falling in a forest. big yawn. hyun-woo employs yang-gi again to beat the interpol charges and they do (yippie!). eun-sung keep acting like he's hae-in's husband after her memories disappeared and all of us know it's so deeply joever but the death bell has yet to strike. in comes the car crash bc we go two for two on car crashes in this show. eun-sung is now, after 15 episodes of washed up nonsense, pursued by the police bc nothing screams real crime like vehicular manslaughter in a kdrama. tried and true to the very end he goes!
haven't checked into ep 16 yet, but i know it ends with a montage of hae-in and hyun-woo together for more years, marrying again and having a child, and then hae-in dies. hyun-woo as an old man visits her grave in germany (potsdam doesn't allow graves on the grounds of sansoucie so i wonder where they supposedly put it?) and then we get a fade in of young hae-in leading now-deceased and young again hyun-woo to heaven in a field of lavender, goblin style minus the good writing. hyun-woo kept apologising for things until the end but don't ask me what it was about, i stopped caring. i assume that eun-sung lands in jail or something for his five billion crimes and all the times he wore light blue ties in this show. fin.

Holy shit I need everyone to listen to the first half of this 15-minute podcast and the absolutely depraved, horrific things that Republican convention-goers say into a microphone with a smile on their face.
RAMEY: You know, I believe in some aid to other countries, but, you know, we need to support our allies. Ukraine is not really our ally. So - Israel's our ally and always has been. And when you turn your back on Israel, you're turning your back on God. So that's just the way I was always brought up. Israel's God's chosen people. The Jews are God's chosen people. And, you know, they need to be taken care of. They didn't ask to be assaulted. They didn't ask for people to come in and steal their women and children out of their homes. So I know, in West Virginia, if that would have happened, it would have been a war. So - right there in my own backyard. You're not stealing somebody's child or their sister or their brother or their grandma and torturing people without getting some repercussions. So I just believe people need to love each other more and more, you know? They need to read the Bible or whatever faith you belong to and figure out that, you know, we're all in this world together, struggling every day, trying to make it. Be kind to people, you know? Give the kindness, and the kindness will come back to you. I believe Donald Trump loves our country. I believe he - I know he loves our veterans. I know he loves our military. I think he loves me, you know? To be honest, I think he truly cares about the American people. Joe and Kamala - I get no warm, fuzzy feelings at all from those two.
or
KHAN: Well, coming from India, culturally, I'm pro-life. India has 1.4 billion people. And secondly, you know, I support - see, our foundational values are - in America are freedom and liberty and free market enterprise structure - capitalistic structure. It's not the perfect model, but it's an optimal model. I didn't come here for socialism or communism. And out of - you know, I don't want to disrespect any gender thing, but I did not come here to support the LGBTQ rights, to be very honest. Culturally, we don't do that. So my values resonate more with the Republican Party, which happen to be our foundational values as well.
or
DONNA VAN AUSDALL: Aloha. I'm Donna Van Ausdall. I am a kupuna, which is senior in Hawaii. I'm 71 years old. Well, I've been involved with the Hawaii Republican Party since I became a Republican back in 2016. I'm just so thrilled to be here. To see President Trump in person is a huge honor. KHALID: You said that you've been involved with the Republican Party since you became a Republican in 2016. So were you not always a Republican? VAN AUSDALL: No. I was a hard-core Democrat. And JFK was my childhood hero, like many of my generation, right? But my husband and I are devout traditional Catholics, so we made a heartfelt choice to become conservatives because of the abortion issue, you know? President Biden is a Catholic, and I'm very disappointed at his pro-abortion stance, you know? So - and I love the conservativeness of Republicans. You know, we want our country to continue to have its constitutional freedoms with the Second Amendment rights. You know, a lot of states are enacting gun laws that I think are too stringent.
I know some of y'all have beef with Democrats but if we don't organize and turn out the vote in November the government will be run by and for these hateful people

So, I'm listening to You're Wrong About struggling to say something meaningful about the coexistence of the history of racist whites lynching black men over (sometimes completely made up) sexual violence against white women with at the same time women often not being believed about rape. And in my opinion doing a pretty bad job. And I think I can do better. So, here goes. Cw for discussion of sexual violence and racist and misogynist thinking.
Rosa parks episode about 20 minutes in, if you want context.
People mean two different, conflicting things by rape depending on whether their sexual ethics are based on chastity or autonomy. People who value autonomy have a reasonable understanding of rape. We think it's bad because it's a violation of body autonomy. My body is mine. If someone does something to it that I didn't want them to, that's bad. Period. (Also often sexual assault is deeply traumatizing, but the core issue isn't suffering, it's bodily autonomy.)
And part of that is it's still rape when a boyfriend or husband does it, but not rape if it's consensual. I mean, definitionally, right?
People whose sexual ethics are based on chastity have a completely different, and wrong, understanding of rape. They think it's a violation of chastity. There are some downstream implications of this. One, that an unchaste woman (like a sex worker) can't be raped. Two, that chaste sexual contact eg between a husband and wife cannot be rape. Three, that consensual but unchaste sexual contact is either rape or basically the same thing as rape -- so that, for instance, if a teenaged white girl chooses to have a sexual relationship with a teenaged black boy, people with this mindset are going to see that as being literally the same thing as him raping her -- and may well see rape as basically the same thing as her choosing to have sex, in terms of how they see the girl afterwards. Dirty. Soiled. That sort of thing. No longer respectable.
When you look at it that way, it all makes sense. When racist white dudes killed a black guy over a woman, it wasn't her they were ever "protecting." It was her reproductive capacity. They wouldn't give a shit if she got herself into a Goodbye Earl situation and needed help getting away from a husband who raped her, because that's chaste -- that can't result in (horrors!) a white woman having a black/mixed race/non-white baby -- and they don't care about her they care about her chastity.
And when men don't give a fuck about what women say or want, that can go both ways -- either not believing her when she says that nice white guy on the swim team raped her, or refusing to recognize that a white girl might want to date a black boy (boy as in literal teenager here) becuade she likes him and she wants to.
And I'm kind of phrasing this all as men this women that, but I'm not really trying to make men the bad guys either, systematic problems are systematic problems. Things are just better when lynch mobs aren't an option. When the moral onus does not fall to individuals to refuse to participate in a lynch mob (either by being part of the lynching itself or by being part of what incites one) because lynch mobs just aren't a thing.
And...mostly we've done that one. Which doesn't mean things are over, because we're getting a resurgence in white supremacy and because mass incarceration is still a thing and extremely racist police departments are still a thing, and because a general cultural trend of expressing anger around sexual violence as though combatting sexual violence is mostly about identifying and going after people who commit sexual violence can result in lynch mob like problems, as when trans women get driven off of social media due to harassment campaigns. But we also live in a society where a white woman can date or marry a black dude and it's just a thing, just a love story, not A Threat To The White Race.
Or at least I do. I guess I can't speak for everywhere. There's interracial romances on TV being presented as no big deal though and that has to mean something.

"Lucien Greaves" on the Oklahoma City Bombing and bad PR
Via The.Satanic.Wiki
On Sept. 11, 2003, future co-owner of The Satanic Temple Doug “Lucien Greaves” Misicko, his friend and collaborator Shane Bugbee, and Shane Bugbee’s wife Amy Stocky hosted a 24-hour Internet radio stream with guests and callers to mark the release of their new edition of the proto-fascist manifesto Might Is Right. This is an excerpt from that recording.
CW: terrorism, praise of white nationalist violence, misogyny
Full transcript:
Shane Bugbee: Yeah, no, but that Waco- that Waco chunk was given to us by a guy in Waco. One of the survivors had half his body burned off, that we just played. And that's something that a doc, a gentleman doing a documentary had done. And he couldn't get it released, couldn't get it played anywhere. Nothing. And he basically just gave it to those- the fine folks at the Branch Davidian. And, um... that was it. They distributed to who they thought was trustworthy and such, and I wanted to disseminate that information for you. I'd like to hear if anyone is listening. Get on the chat boards at RadioFreeSatan.com. Leave a voicemail message at RadioFreeSatan.com. I think the number is... I'll get you the number in a second.
Amy Bugbee: A major person who did help pass around Day 51 was Tim McVeigh.
Shane Bugbee: Yeah, exactly. That was one of the people that gave it to and we're trying to live to- some people call McVeigh a terrorist and American terrorist. I call him an American hero. Okay?
Amy Bugbee: That's right. And I just finished reading American Terrorist, Timothy McVeigh story, and it's... fascinating. It's really a shame and the major- the thing that he was most upset about what the Oklahoma City bombing was the fact that the children dying outshined what the message was he was trying to convey by blowing up the building. And it's a real shame. He said, if he would have known that there were- there was a daycare center in there, he would have picked a different target because of that.
Doug Misicko: All right, that was the biggest mistake. And of course, it was easy for the media to take that away.
Shane Bugbee: What was the biggest mistake?
Doug Misicko: The fact that there was kids in there.
Shane Bugbee: That was your... you consider that a mistake?
Doug Misicko: Well, it's a PR mistake.
Shane Bugbee: Who gives a fuck? They're cops' kids. The only thing that would be better is if the cops were inside that building as the kids in the fucking wives got to watch their fucking husbands burn like pigs.
Doug Misicko: True, but he didn't generate any support.
Shane Bugbee: He wouldn't have no matter what he does he could fire a gun up in the air, he's gonna get arrested and treated like an asshole.
Doug Misicko: Nonetheless, anytime a cunt like Janet Reno runs amok and pulls a Waco, you're gonna produce hundreds of more McVeigh's or people that McVeigh mindset it's like they say about Iraq now. Or Afghanistan. You know, whereas you might have had one Osama bin Laden, now you have legions.
Shane Bugbee: Now when you talk about "bad PR", the real powerful folk don't give a fuck about bad PR. You think the- the Bush folks or people that go into Ruby Ridge and slaughter a pregnant woman, slaughter 14-year-old kid, shooting them two times in the back, all that bullshit? They didn't give a fuck about mowing down those kids at Waco. They did that shit so incredibly intense. Man, we saw this video where they've got- they've got infrared cameras above Waco and they're showing guys with M-16s sharpshooting in where the kids and women are running out. The fucking cop- and the army guys are shooting at these kids and- they don't give a fuck. They don't give a fuck about bad PR, do they?
Doug Misicko: Yeah, they figured they can cover the PR. You look at...
Shane Bugbee: Nah, it's about fear. They fucking scared everyone in the fucking listening again.
Doug Misicko: People don't believe it'll happen. Why do you think Junior's crew now is trying to buy out radio?

angela davis herself wrote about how the obsession with "true womanhood" always has a white supremacist agenda behind it. she remarked on the obsession the right-wing has with trans women and compared it to the bigotry she and other black women have experienced.
needless to say she was 100% right about the connection transphobia has to white supremacy. anti-trans lobbyists have direct connections to white supremacists.
Oh yeah, ironically enough they also harassed her some years back, she had a interview with two drag queens on the GLAAD youtube, and when asked to introduce herself, she called herself a queer lesbian, i believe, queer nonetheless, and during it she also said she saw black trans women as the most oppressed demographic out there.
Of course TERFs lost their fucking minds, did the usual "ANOTHER SELL OUT THE LIZARD ELIT-i mean, QUEER LOBBY!" and said Angela Davis, the woman who who became a targeted by thee FBI for saying racism bad ad was put on the death row multiple times and became a political refugee on the USSR, was scared of becoming a hashtag, the trending topics and anime profiles.
Is amazing, when they believe you are siding with them or can become useful as a tool to attach themselves for PR reasons? Oh such a strong woman with conviction, courage and determination to fights against oppression and the patriarchy
The moment the are like "ummm i don't think hate criming trans people is gonna them sex trafficking victims or make tampons free" OMG A TRAITOR A SELLOUT YOU DON'T KNOW THE TEAL OPPRESISON OF GETITNG RATIO'D ON TWITTER.
And it really tells how terminally online these people are, because when they aren't out here making parades with their neo-nazi boyfriends and calling black women dirty(Posie Parker), they legit think being a hashtag or cancelled on Twitter is the end of the world, they become so obcessed with numbers they really think women who stared death down are gonna give a shit what some fag with a anime profile is gonna think of them.
And btw "they were Jesus on our side, but the Devil on the enemy" is also a tactic used by scientology compulsively in their own scripture, from the average members to chairmen, the moment they come out the church and have criticism, whatever was good about them is ignored and replaced with them being satan on earth, and I'm not joking with the charimen part, an actual chairmen who was adored by thousands, appeared on the biggest events and has footage and general information about him talking about how great he is, then the moment he spoke against the church, HORRIBLE, LAZY, HARD TO WORK WITH, POISONED THE WELL AND WE WERE LUCKY TO CLEAN IT ON TIME.
The person you ideolized and believed was figuring for a better world just supported a democraphic of people you hate getting rights? Pfft, don't self introspect, just call them dumb traitor, sellouts and mock specific violent think they went to right in life, you are such a good person for that.

One post that really annoys me is the one that's like "so many trans women play d&d and its clones why aren't there more tgirls on the big actual play media"
because that's like. such an example of grossly overestimating what should be happening based on who you personally know? Approximately 10% of the US population plays these sorts of games more than once a month and another 5% or so plays monthly or near monthly. That gives us a most generous estimate of 15% of the population who would be suitable to use as an ongoing player in any kind of podcast, video series, whatever.
And If we use about the most generous estimate of how many of us there are, it's like maybe 0.8% of the population is a trans woman and is willing to identify themselves as such to various manners of polling/surveys/etc. And honestly if you ain't willing to answer a survey you're definitely not going to be publicly on a podcast or anything.
If all of the tgirl population was routine d&d/d&d clone players (and of course very untrue lol) that would be a best case scenario that would be a bit over 5% of the size of the total population of people who play regularly. As like an absolute possible cap of participation.
In reality I don't believe there's any evidence that the amount of regular participants in d&d and clones among trans women is particularly different from the general population, not least because the kind of things that get in the way of participating in regular play tend to affect trans women more than the average person. Yknow, being busy, not being able to afford it, not being able to have a consistent availability schedule due to increased precariouaness from societal discrimination, all of that. Things that are also particularly a problem for a large scale entertainment property like a major podcast or video series before you count how much of the potential player base ain't gonna feel safe becoming a publicly known figure like that.
Like yeah yeah a generous estimate would be about 2 million to 2.75 million trans women in the country, sounds like a lot right. But the regular playerbase of d&d and clones is over 51 million. And that's a count of people specifically interested enough in the thing! You start trying to whittle down who would be potential person participating who is also a trans woman, and it's like maybe 300k, 400k.
Here's another factor: the proportion of the American population that makes at least a few dollars a year from online content is about 14%. Let's apply that to get a good estimate for who is likely to be doing any kind of even hobbyist with 9 bucks in tips for content online in a year: OK now we're down to like ~55,000 trans women who are regular d&d and clones players and are also putting stuff out online enough that they're picking up pennies from it - a suitable proxy for "willing and able to potentially participate". And that's kind of a top end for who might possibly participate in the kind of thing the post wanted to see! You could put all of those theoretical trans women in to the existing d&d and clones actual play/edited play media industrial complex evenly and that'd still probably work out to maybe getting one trans woman each on most of them! There's been a lot of attempts to make such things by a lot of people after all! There was even this decent history podcast I used to listen to that started doing actual plays to try to cover participating in the history subjects they were covering and it got so annoying that I stopped listening (they were not good at presenting a compelling actual play or editing it down to be compelling, ugh). And hey two nickels time cuz I had that happen again on another history podcast. Shit is rampant.
That's the nature of hobbies really. There is a lot more people not like you than you generally expect!

We know canonically that Leon likes older movies and he's definitely the type to enjoy lying in bed/lounging on the sofa to watch movies in his spare time, extrovert or not (*actually... I suddenly have a headcanon).
But what do YOU think he likes to watch? I feel like he avoids horror, binges vintage dramas and has a secret guilty pleasure for rom-coms. The shitty ones, especially. He's a lonely guy, he gets a kick from 2000's Loser Guy Gets The Hot Girl Because She's Different And He's Funny And We Don't Understand Women genre of film.
*The headcanon, because he's for sure to have pretty steep trust issues, is that a sure fire way that Leon shows "I feel close to you and want to share myself" is to spend his time off watching TV with someone. Sharing his favourite films, enjoying/roasting new ones. Sharing a drink and some popcorn. This is all stupid, cringey fluff. But... it's not too farfetched, I don't think. Watching a film on Leons couch is a special privilege reserved for close friends/legitimate romantic partners.
Wait wait wait wait wait wait wait WAIT
WAIT
What do you mean, "he canonically likes older movies"?!?!? Why, because he quotes Pulp Fiction in RE4make?????
Pulp Fiction came out in 1994, what do you mean "old movies"?????
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Leon was about to graduate high school in 1994. It's 10 years prior to the events of RE4.
/kicks things around petulantly
I'm bouta go full Mr Krabs in the panty raid episode all up in here.
But I've mentioned before that I headcanon him as a huge film buff who worked on student films in college and really enjoyed video editing. He probably would've pursued it professionally if he hadn't had a greater interest in law enforcement.
And as a result of that, he's probably that guy who can give you a list of recommendations for damn near any genre. Even romances. Especially romances, in some cases.
I really do see him as a huge movie nerd, and I like to think he's one of those bougie bachelor guys who has an entire room of his house dedicated to this. Just floor to ceiling shelves with shit across a bunch of different formats. He's not a merch guy. He's an actual movie collector.
It's an easy hobby for him to keep up with despite the chaos that is his life. Movies are quick to consume and easy to collect but can also give him bragging rights if he stumbles on something super rare, since he has more than enough money to blow on shit.
Like. I make the joke that Leon watches Casino at least three times a week, but the reality is that I think he's the kind of guy to be happy to have most anything on in the background while he's doing other shit. Like, there was that stretch of 3 years where, no matter what time of day you looked, My Cousin Vinny was on TV on some channel -- Leon's the guy who doesn't mind it always being on repeat, because a good movie is a good movie.
I also don't think most horror bothers him. It might not be the first thing he reaches for, because the horror genre in general is usually one of two things. It's either "an artist using horror as a backdrop to explore some facet of the human existence" or "I'm about to make the most ridiculous shit possible and it's going to be funny."
There are, of course, bad horror movies that take themselves way too seriously and aren't so bad they're good, they're just so bad that they're bad. But those are indictments of those specific titles, not the genre itself.
Like, you cannot look me in the face and tell me that Leon hasn't seen most things from Friday the 13th to Ju-On to Sharknado. I refuse to believe that.
But I agree with you that actually getting let into Leon's Vault is probably a huge deal, and for him to seriously sit down and watch a movie with someone is very intimate for him -- because it is one of the few things that he's been able to carry into his adult life that's really his and has always been his. It's the only part of himself he's been able to hold onto, so he's probably terrified of exposing it to/sharing it with anyone else.
