I am not proud of this opinion but I am not the biggest fan of Save The Cat! Don't get me wrong, I like it, but when I watched it for the first time I was a little bit confused that they went the mind control route for Catra. the part where she rejects the Horde and tells Prime "you will never get to Glimmer, you will never reach Adora"- I wanted us to see THAT Catra when Adora sees her for the first time in so long. I wanted Catra conscious, I wanted the abrupt reunion between her and Adora, and IMO it required Catra to be HERSELF in that scene, not basically a prime clone.

And yet despite tjat... oh, it was still so good- I got to see She-Ra again and this time she's not controlled by the First Ones- I indeed did like that episode, it just was not what I had in mind! And while I did not particularly favour it as a kick start to the redemption arc, there were so many good moments where I was like "AKSJAKJDKDAKJ kitty cat joinng the rebellion!" The moment she joins The Best Friend Squad eating those steamed buns Glimmer made and finally left her room to go sit with them. The moment she apologizes to Entrapta. The moment she let the best friend squad use her chip to track Prime. The moment she comorts Netossa about Spinerella being chipped. The moment she tells Glimmer "I made a promise to her a long time ago, it's about time I fulfilled it" or something like that. The moment she jumped into fire for Adroa nad Adora immediately teased her about it ofc lol. Dare I say it's even better I was not fully satisfied during Save The Cat, because it was not her redemption arc per se, but just a step in that diection! And those steps in that direction are what I enjoyed so much more! And the rest of her redemption arc was all of these moments along the way in season 5, ending with the grand gesture to go back for Adora.

It was the "...hey Adora!" in the last episode (the hologram version who Adora thought was her) and all the images of Catra over the years walking towards Adora that made my heart melt and I knew I was going to love catradora forever <3

Catra's redemption arc was not perfect but it was GOOD! And I will never hate on Catra just because Save The Cat didn't go as I had wanted it to! I can understand that something is good even if it's not as I expected it to be!

bestie, i love you dearly, but i can't possibly agree with this take. catra getting chipped was such a huge part of the overarching story regarding trauma (notably the repetitive pressing of her hand to the back of her neck later on in the season, and her shaking hands in "taking control") & religious imagery (captioned screenshot by @horde-princess)

besides, we did kind of mostly get a genuine heartfelt reunion in the same place too:

and i just think that no alternate timeline could ever match how eerie and haunting all those catradora scenes in this episode felt. that fight being their most intense yet is what makes us temporarily feel like "wait, are we still watching a kids' cartoon...?" until you remember no gore was shown.

also, if catra had free will during their reunion, we never would've gotten THESE SHOTS:

Stand back, ghouls and boos, your most benevolent mummy representative’s got this”, cups Frankie’s confused face (who still hunches down nevertheless fer Cleo like the confused yet willing puppy they are), gently kisses them smack on the cheek, and then-

Girlypop was standing RIGHT in the danger zone of lovestruck lightning; she knew the price which had to be paid and did NOT hesitate even though she had spent hours before picking out the perfect prom dress and all that. After recovering from Sheer Gay Shutdown™️, Frankie panics and holds Cleo’s slightly smoking body close as monsters rush around behind the pair.

“Cleo?! Are you okay?!”

“Oh my Ra, precious, that was… spooktacular…”

Cleo is so outta it from her super noble act of altruism. The most selfless of all monsters, truly.

Outline below for my story based on my “Who opened the portal that brought Hordak to Etheria?” theory in SPoP.

Potential relevance to another topic I’m discussing elsewhere re: poorly handled character arcs slash treatment of traumatized characters in the series.

But mostly because I really, really do want to write this, and getting this done while it’s on my mind helps.

This fic is to be written in third person with a Queen Angella focused pov (aka observations are filtered through her bias, the only internal thoughts seen are hers).

I’m also now plotting out a second chapter from Hordak’s pov, because it turns out I figured out another connection these two have! Other than this expanded crack-fic idea I now hold as my personal fanon Angella had to make the horrible, painful choice to create a stable time loop and bring her own personal devil and tormentor to Etheria to prevent the planet from being consumed by the Heart.

Anyway, at the start of the fic Hordak and Entrapta have contributed research and tech to a device that eventually is able to bring Angella back from being between dimensions after the portal disaster.

It opens with Angella waiting to talk with Hordak alone, mentally reviewing every single reason she utterly hates him and every damage he has done to herself personally and her planet.

Hordak enters, polite and professional.

Angella mentally reviews everything she’s been told about how he has acted since the defeat of Prime: submitting to a trial of his crimes, living with Entrapta, working with her towards the repair of Etheria, and taking an apparently reluctant leadership role of guiding his newly freed brothers to independence.

Outwardly, she acknowledges his contribution to her rescue.

Hordak similarly acknowledges this, but independently notes he did not do it for her sake.

Angella appears slightly shocked at this.

He clarifies that he has developed some warm feeing towards Adora (this would be explored in the second chapter, it’a a continuation of their finale scene and because I happen to like papa Hordak fanons. oh and shared angst you’ll see), and is aware of the impact the lose of Angella has had on her and her friends, further depressing Adora.

Hordak claims he performed his duty partially towards the betterment of Etheria as a whole, but personally worked diligently for the sake of Adora and by extension Glimmer.

He is glad that Angella is returned, but he believes she deserves his honesty about his motives.

Angella is silent for a moment, mentally reviewing her time in-between dimensions, although the audience does not get any descriptions at this time.

Then she speaks: “I was the one that created the portal that brought you to Etheria.”

Hordak is as shocked as any unspoiled reader would be, and cannot respond.

We now get the beginnings of scenes from Angella’s time in-between, when she first regained enough of her sense of self to recognize she could see all alternative timelines.

She starts with a timeline where Hordak does not come to Etheria.

It ends with Light Hope guiding an eager and willing - and utterly naive - Adora to initiating the Heart of Etheria.

Angella asks Hordak how much he knows about LH, and he admits he has not been told much. He acknowledges, however, he is aware she had something to do with the project of turning Etheria into to a weapon, which required Adora as the She Ra to activate.

Angella explains briefly how LH would have been able to manipulate basically anyone on Etheria into allowing an impressionable and vulnerable Adora to be trained by LH.

Throughout her explanations, we also get more details from her memories of these timelines - the more that is shown, the clearer it is that Angella didn’t just witness these timelines but to an extent experienced them.

When Hordak remains unconvinced the Horde was the safest place for Adora, Angella reveals what is admittedly fanon but ties in what I want with this overall fic.

That LH could - with admittedly time, effort, and motivation, but unquestionably the ability to - directly manipulate not just an First Ones tech on the planet to her own ends, but anyone attuned to a Runestone through them.

Anyone.

And we get the memory of Angella herself raising Adora, preventing her from ever meeting Madame Razz, and then gladly guiding her directly to the Sword and LH, proud and serene in her “mission” right up until the end.

While Hordak processes this, Angella admits she will never fully understand what being under Horde Prime’s control was like, as Micah does, but she also understands better than anyone who had not been chipped.

Hordak attempts to protest that while this may be true, bringing the Horde to Etheria seems excessive.

Angella counters with what the Horde gave to Adora in addition to time away from LH: training, a sense of responsibility….

And the experience of being betrayed, of being manipulated for the sake of Shadow Weaver’s own greed, of being lied to and needing to use her own critical thinking to confirm the truth.

Chapter 2 will show that this concept is going to have an angstfest impact on Hordak, and actually helps him understand Angella a lot better.

Hordak, a lot more subdued, again questions if traumatizing Adora had been necessary, and Angella admits there may have been an alternative time line she had not witnessed that may not have required it.

But she continues that it hadn’t just been the Horde itself she’d needed to bring to Etheria, but Hordak himself, shocking him again.

The memories here are focused on how Angella breeched reality for several crucial seconds to create the portal to bring Hordak to Etheria, in much the same way she described LH manipulating the thoughts of a Runestone Aligned princess/queen: gentle nudges against what already exists, pushing favorable thoughts/energies while repressing unfavorable ones just enough.

Angella doesn’t admit in her thoughts, but it’s implied to the reader that this all took multiple of her lifetimes to achieve, endless cycles of pressing a fragment of a nanometer against the wall of reality a cycle, the only substance she could even be tangible against.

Externally she describes how she had explored timelines where other clones had been transported to Etheria, and none had prepared Adora as successfully as the timeline Angella herself remembered. No clone but Hordak had had the precise combination of drive and persistence required to make the Horde a formidable threat, but also the singular motivation to return to Prime over conquest that allowed both Shadow Weaver’s machinations and the reformation of the Princess Alliance that shaped Adora.

Silently, she also admits that no other clone had successfully reconnected with Prime through a functional portal, and the reader briefly hears how Angella struggled with attempting to be selfish enough to not have Adora defeat Prime if it were possible, but Angella ultimately could not bring herself to not bring a savior to the greater galaxy when that timeline was already so clear before her.

(there’s one more point in Hordak’s favor, but that comes up in Chapter 2)

After Hordak processes this all, he surprises Angella - he calmly but sincerely apologizes that he and the horrors he had brought to her planet had ultimately been the best option she had found.

Reflecting Hordak’s earlier admission of his motives in rescuing her having nothing to do with Angella herself, the queen then tells him she still hates him with her entire being.

She, herself, even after the sacrifice she made the decision to make for the greater good, will never be able to actually forgive him, and she will not even try, even though Micah is.

Hordak appears amused by this to Angella; the next chapter reveals he actually finds it darkly funny to finally find someone not only willing to actively hate him but admit it to his face (Mermista is close but allows herself to be muffled by everyone else). It turns out he not only completely agrees with Angella’s assessment, but puts a chink into her inability to forgive him by pointing out another thing they have in common (completely without any desire to create empathy from her and totally towards his own mission of making amends to Adora and those close to her, oh how did chapter 2 turn even more angsty than this one so delightful….).

Anyway…

Hordak again apologizing that, as he will remain by Entrapta’s side and she is adamant about continuing to be Adora’s and therefore Glimmer’s friend, Entrapta’s going to end up dragging him to social functions Angella is present at.

Angella acknowledges this and points out she’s royalty - he is far from the first person she has had to remain civil towards in social settings despite despising, even of his is on a different level from anyone else.

This time, they share the amusement at the irony of them being perfectly attuned in this regard.

Not quite sure how to bridge this chapter to the next now that Chapter 2 exists in my brain, but I’ll at least give you my favorite part so far:

[Hordak cannot think how to brooch the topic he wants, trying to think of tactful ways to bring it up.] “Would I be mistaken to assume that there was a degree of - the desire for self-termination when you chose to sacrifice yourself to save Adora?”

The Queen’s head shot up and back even straighter, her eyes piercing daggers that immediately reminded him of His… of the betrayer’s fury.

I am so sorry Entrapta I am about to be executed on the spot I am so sorry I am an idiot please understand this was utterly my own responsibility please forget me and move on what in the deepest abyss was I thinking…

(it turns out, there are two reasons Hordak came to that conclusion; he silently acknowledges in this chapter that he fully intended for mutual destruction when he attacked Catra at the end of Season 4, let alone entering the purification pool…)

(As I said above, the memory of being controlled and witnessing the harm you were manipulated into doing to others you have responsibility over isn’t the only thing Hordak and Angella have in common….)

This is more a problem with like, getting myself motivated, and I'm not sure if it ever really shows in my finished fics, but I tend to get really impatient with writing and try to wrap up scenes etc sooner than than should, and if I can't I tend to get frustrated and stop writing for a while.

18. Thoughts on dialogue in another language? Sure, but only a little and only if it's a trait of a character in canon or it otherwise makes sense in context. If it's anything other than Spanish I'll probably end up using Google Translate and beg for forgiveness/corrections in the author's notes

19. First fandom you wrote in? Doctor Who

20. Favorite fic you’ve written? (eu)jean, a drabble for the move Gattaca - it's about a character from the movie being trans, and I wanted to use that to tie into and explore the movie's themes of identity and self-transformation in a way that was different from but complimentary with how the movie did it. Judging from the comments I got, I was quite sucessful, with one commenter even saying that that headcanon would be in the back of her head every time she watched the movie. (This answer is probably longer than the fic itself /lh)

if it's ok though, i'd like to add my own personal thoughts on the theory here after all - i agree 100 that adora and catra's own individual trauma from the events being replayed to them is what drove them apart - triggering af, to be sure. and not just for catra - though knowing her character, she was the one to be more likely to cave into it.

and just my thought, light hope knew that shit. maybe not at first, but as the two went on? LH not only able to overhear everything but even read their minds and memories (geez tho that reminds me tf outta prime - who we later learn was enemies with the first ones and sought to accomplish similar goals of total planetary takeover on more than one world.. "that race of tyrants" [ironic af coming from him ofc]) it seems like it became obvious to LH that if she really wanted to burn the bridge between adora and catra - she needed to focus on catra.

hence the fckin replay for just catra of the promise being made. something LH clearly knew has been on her mind.

yes, after LH's programming caused her to cease to exist after the sword the first ones made was broken, the castle still managed to read adora's thoughts/memories/feelings and project shi it knew might make her more hesitant to carry the failsafe to the heart. it also was still able to deploy it's defense system monster. it had a sort of sentience of its own, clearly.

but in promise, that kinda control the castle still seemed to innately possess towards the finale, was wielded by LH. i mean, i doubt in the actual memory of the promise, catra let go of adora's hand near the door out of the bunkroom and turned back to look at no one. who made little catra do that and look directly into current catra's eyes for a heartbreakingly long moment - if not LH? catra herself? i really doubt it. it was just something LH knew might seal the deal, just from knowing catra's thoughts. it was a tactic of manipulation.

LH was reprogrammed to make sure the heart was set off at all costs - read catra as someone who might get in the way of adora being willing to - and did what she hoped might change that. and catra's traumatized in different, more volatilely expressed ways than adora (that's why it's so much easier for people to hate her than adora) so LH leaned her efforts into breaking catra instead of adora.

i mean, who else set a fuck ton of spider security bots on adora right as catra ran away and adora looked as though she wanted to follow her? adora's distracted fighting those fckers even tho she's she-ra and allowed to be there while split from catra - who's not. but isn't being attacked. just shown some shit that she's visualized enough in her head since the beginning w/o needing a projected & slightly manipulated version from LH.

and it kinda sorta worked enough for catra to embrace her villain role - accept that just like she saw adora as destined to "be the hero" - she was born to the bad guy - the only role she can assume (from her limited scope of the way the world works) will bring her the feelings of strength, safety, and security she's lost in light of adora's absence.

and she tries to do that, and not just live with it, but convince herself she's enjoying it for the better part of the next 3 seasons. and it fucking destroys her :/

it breaks my damn heart. cause just as adora said to her in promise, "i know you're not a bad person, catra."

but it takes catra another 3 seasons to wanna think that could even maybe be true and try her best to live by it.

she wants so badly, after everything, to be the person adora used to think she was and (by some miracle, to catra's mind- at least) still thinks she can be. if she'd just try. so she tries.

1: Crispin. Shocking from tumblr user Crispingender i know./s It is NOT only because i have a crush on him!!!!! Shhhe is also the most interesting to me. Hes s mechanic?? He got so upset about no one celebrating his bday that he ran off to the circus for YEARS. And literally everything he owns is clowncore its so based. He has a clown themed tow truck. He fixed bees bike and said he wouldn't make it weird and clowncore but he lied and made it so fucking clowncore. His voice puts him up in #1 too. I want him so bad.

2: Deckard. My favorite before we knew that much about his brothers,so it's only fair i give him 2nd place. He has heterochromia and can cook. But not bake,and i also can not bake. At all. He has a hard time pronouncing certain words,which endeared him to me from the start bc i do that.

3: Cas. I love her. She's such a good character. She's got the same voice actor as enid mettle,she's wlw(heavily implied to be)she's a programmer ,she can kick ass,she imports her energy drinks from a different island,she will pretend to use the bathroom so her siblings don't talk to her on her day off. She's iconic. She's named after a she-ra character(castaspella) who is ALSO wlw(in spop at least). She's based.

4: Wesley. Puppycat thinks he's so cool and hot and he's right for it. I'd tie him with cas if i could but alas,i have to pick favorites according to this assignment. His voice is VERY nice. He keeps all his fish in the bathroom(SO MANY. I cant find any pictures but So many)and he uses a lure that wont hurt them(special kissing lure) when he fishes them out of the water. There was an extended period of time in one ep where he just wore an apron and boxers. I would do this if society let me,so he's based for it. He went on a date with someone and didn't know it was a date.

5: Howell. He opened a cat cafe but he cant cook. He's vain as hell and it's probably because his name is meant to parody howl pendragon but he's right for that. He knows he's very pretty and his voice is VERY soothing to listen to. Even when hes pissed off. He fired bee for napping but when she came back to eat at their restaurant to help with business (she convinced deckard to leave to culinary school and hes the only one who can cook so...business was Not booming) he was intending not to charge her for the meal. He wants to cook wes' fishies :/ but he's got a good heart i think and did i mention he's gorgeous

6: Tim. He's probably the one i have the least to say about out of them all. Not because i dont like him but because he hasnt had a focal episode. He thought that since Deckard was wearing pants instead of pajamas that he wasnt depressed anymore LFSHCKDHH he's a little silly.

#7: last but not least,Merlin. He's fine i just don't feel super connected to him compared to the sibs higher up on the list. He's got cool glasses,he got cas' rival toast pregnant,(long,very funny story. Tldr: she was living in their walls) went to med school but didn't finish it,is overall quite a funny guy but i have to give him last place. Sorry merlin,you have to work harder to beat tim/lh

okayokay ive been thinking about this for a long time and the reason ive never written about it is because like. its so BIG. i like to think of adora’s character as a reflection of noelle’s experiences as a former christian, and there is still so much to dive into with that- however i do agree there’s another more abstract layer to adora’s story that challenges some bigger theological ideas. this is probably about to sound wild lksjljfdf i’ll try my best to explain my thought process just disclaimer that it will not make any sense 😌 when do my metas ever make sense tbh. U KNOW WHAT YOU SIGNED UP FOR WHEN YOU FOLLOWED ME BYE

Parallel 1: There’s at least one jesus/adora parallel that’s undeniable and that’s the whole ancient prophesied messiah thing. this wasn’t in the original motu lore so you know it was added for a reason.

Parallel 2: Adora was raised by shadow weaver and light hope to be a willing sacrificial lamb.. the isaac to their abrahams. her faith in god (aka her allegiance to the horde / first ones) demanded that she sacrifice herself to save the world.

i think these 2 parallels provide sufficient evidence to move on with this analysis but later i wanna mention some of the more specific details bc they are super interesting! but yeah for now--there was clearly some theme going on here about subverting the story of jesus... adora was given a divine destiny to save etheria, but save it from what? and why does it matter?

She-Ra criticizes the penal substitutionary atonement theory

ok basically. evangelical christians like to say that jesus died to save us from our sins, but what they actually believe is that jesus died in our place to save us from god’s wrath. that’s an important difference. let me uhh put it another way

god defined sin (as disobeying him), created humans to be inherently sinful, decided he would punish us for the way he made everything.. then sent jesus to save us (from his own unjust anger?? as if it’s an act of mercy lmao)

in a similar way, horde prime defined sin as disobedience, then decided he should kill everyone for it. but he is a 1D villain for the purposes of the show right so instead of prime sending adora as a savior, it’s light hope who sends her. a lil confusing but its all part of the same story light hope is just another metaphor for religion. so far adoras story = jesus.

AND THEN THIS IS THE GENIUS PART--as we know adora’s destiny was never light hope sending her to the world, that was all a lie... her true powers, her true “destiny” came from being chosen BY the world.

!!!!!!! THERE IS. so much here. the whole christian narrative is flipped. writing the next part in italics because its important lkdfjldj

in christianity, a good god sends a savior from heaven to redeem an evil world. in she-ra, it’s an inherently good world that chooses it’s own human hero to save it from an evil god.

which (finally) brings us back to how she-ra criticizes the evangelicals atonement theory. because humanity doesn’t deserve god’s wrath any more than the etherians deserved prime’s wrath. condemning people for disobeying arbitrary rules (e.g. “believe jesus is the only path to life”) makes no sense. however..... if disobedience is not a sin, that means there is no need for atonement. no need for atonement = no savior. no sacrifice. 

tl;dr she-ra compares jesus--a deity sent from heaven as a sacrifice--to adora, a human chosen by the world itself, who avoided that same sacrifice. to me this is a rejection of the idea that humanity needs a divine savior. and beyond that, a rejection of the specific evangelical theory that we needed him to die in our place because we are sinful.

Resurrection through love instead of faith

ok that was a lot lsdkjfld but.. to shift gears a little..... the fact that adora’s sacrifice was unnecessary isn’t as important as how the sacrifice was avoided.

i said before that god defined sin as disobedience but in practice that just means having any personal desire that exists outside of him. shadow weaver and light hope tell adora that in order to follow her destiny she has to “let go” of her friends... as if they’re mutually exclusive, her desires and faith cannot coincide, she must choose between them. its a reflection of the same kind of black & white ultimatums you hear in church. this is how the show was able to frame adora’s love for catra as sinful without explicitly stating it.

when adora ignores her mentors guidance and kisses catra..... first we all cried ldkfj but also. she is committing the ultimate “sin” !! she’s giving into her desires so, according to the dichotomy set up by sw and lh, she’s also rejecting her destiny/faith by default. 

but then... it’s this sin that actually saves adora’s life, whereas faith would’ve led to her death. wait hold on i [goes outside and screams]

so jesus and adora followed very similar destinies right. jesus spends his life rejecting his personal desires, dies for god, and god resurrects him for his obedience. but adora LIVES and its BECAUSE she embraces her earthly desires, leaving behind the religious idea that rejecting your desires leads to salvation.... which is once again the opposite of jesus. like jesus died to save an evil world from sin, but in contrast adora reclaimed her “sin” as something good and it saved her from death, it saved her from needing resurrection at all !!!!! at least, not from god. maybe catra’s kiss symbolizes a different kind of resurrection, one inspired by love instead of faith. new life that isnt earned through sacrifice but given freely (as christians like to claim god’s grace is).

THAT IS SO LDKJFLDFJDDF and this entire time i havent even MENTIONED the fact that this is all in relation to LESBIAN love and LESBIAN desires which is obviously the point of the show and why these themes hit so hard. but even when you take away the lgbt aspect, she-ra still holds up as a fantastic criticism of evangelical theology.

Changes to Equipment Inventory!!! (SAY GOODBYE TO THE 500/500 STORAGE??) They will be adding an Equipment Storage, much like the hero waiting room. They cannot increase the 500/500 due to having to add a loading screen above 500. Inside the storage, you can enhance equipment and extract them as well. They plan to implement this on Thursday.

Abyss 120 Floors. They will be nerfing the previous floors a little so that we can try to get to 120. The rewards will not be a lifesteal set, but it will be a speed set this time. [I can't read korean so I won't be able to translate but base stats at 9 is great.]

Ancient Inheritance- cooperative PVE guild content. It's a hexagonal field, and it's more of an exploration type, where you find and defeat bosses together. There are different roles and selectable card types. More information will be released soon, as this is still in development. Please make sure to find as many good guild members to take full advantage of this new content.

Ending of EP 3 and start of EP 4. (WHAT EP 3 STARTED LIKE YESTERDAY WHAT /hj) There will be another selective summon after you complete EP 3. One more Ep to Go...

So...did Lee Hyuk die or???

From the vibe I’m getting from the preview, I feel like the Emperor didn’t make it? It seems like he’s being talked about in the past tense...either that or he’s so messed up from burns and is incapacitated. 

Like I always figured Lee Hyuk’s end would either be dying or going to jail but ehh, I’ll feel like it’s a cop out if he ends up dying for real.

I’m going on the hunch that he died and the clip from the preview of the ED shaving his face, could be her having some illusion of her son still being alive after she finally went off the deep end...but who knows with this drama.

I’m not even going to touch on Na Wang Shik because honestly, the whole thing with Choi Jin Hyuk was messy as hell, it was nice to still ‘include’ him but it didn’t feel the same and i just ended up laughing at how ridiculous it was.

And then it seemed like ‘Na Wang Shik’ sacrificed himself or something, this whole thing has been messy.

But I still loved it but some of the writing choices...I’m fine with shows being strictly thrillers/drama/action without any focus on the romance, if the writer had never stated that a ‘growing romance’ would bloom between the bodyguard and the empress, i think people (especially those not used to ‘makjang’) would not be as upset that they felt cheated out of the love line.

What little growing chemistry between Sunny and Wang Shik was totally overshadowed by everything else and the messy way she had Lee Hyuk’s character flip flop. 

The writer, should’ve either stuck with Lee Hyuk being pure evil or turn out he was innocent all along and really change for the better instead of being a pathetic coward. We needed more scenes of WS(WB) with Sunny.

Or the writer should have just made the love line between LH/SN stronger even after what he done by making him a better person if all she was going to do was be persuaded by the viewing audience to kill the WS/SN in favor of LH/SN from the beginning. 

We should have also gotten more insight from the beginning as to what Min Yu Ra’s motivation for coming into the palace was in the first place, that way when everything got revealed we could have empathized with her a bit more as well as have a clearer understanding of why she got caught up with her greed while in the midst of getting her revenge. 

I know these makjang stories can be crazy but it’s no excuse for bad writing. Bad writing is still bad writing no matter what genre you’re working with. 

I know one thing, if Sunny doesn’t walk into the sunset with her adopted child Ari while Yoon and Hello get married, I am going to flip my shit!

Screaming into the Void...

I swear to fucking god if Sunny and Wang Shik(Woo Bin) don’t end up together at the end of this damn drama I am going to fucking flip all the shit!

Like many, I feel I’m owed the happy ending they never got in Fated to Love You because babe was 2nd Lead.

Like I really don’t care how it happens, Woo Bin can just Idfk, give her little trinkets or a flower a day with a little note that says ‘fighting’, to her chamber every night for all I care! 

While trying to remain as inconspicuous as possible, I mean that’s be real, it’s going to be a challenge for them to show any affection for each other in that hell hole of a palace.

Yeah, that crazy, twisted, dirtbag of an Emperor might say he don’t give a fuck about Sunny, but watch the very moment she even smiles pretty in another man’s presence, especially Woo Bin’s (if unintentional because girlfriend wears her heart on her sleeve) and Woo Bin returns that smile? he will start feeling salty as all fuck. Outwardly, he’ll talk his shit, might not even care, but he’ll feel some type of way about it, as much as we hate it, Sunny’s still ‘his woman’, if still on paper. 

Because somewhere in that twisted, insecure mind of his, he’ll realize, Sunny really wasn’t some gold digger he conjured up in his mind that his insane mother wanted him to marry to get rid of Yu Ra. Ironically, the woman he’s in lust with (yes I refuse to believe he’s in love) is going to be his downfall and don’t even get me started on that darn Nanny Seo Hee. 

But seeing the Empress fall for a ‘nobody bodyguard’ is going to do something to his ego. 

And I will eat that shit up! I want it to happen so bad..I NEED IT TO HAPPEN!

Oh! I hope that’s the angle the writer goes with, that Woo Bin ‘pretends to get close’ to Sunny ‘to keep an eye on her’ it kills three birds with one stone; the romance subplot can flourish and it allows Wang Shik to gain the Emperor’s trust, like he’s making sure Sunny isn’t doing anything to undermine the Emperor and Yu Ra but in secret they plot, that would be really good actually, Sunny and WS plotting and secretly undermining everyone, making the snakes fight each other, meanwhile Sunny sits back and doesn’t life a finger until she has everything in her arsenal to make her move (but the sounds almost too easy for a drama i know)...yea I really want my romance subplot, I will fight you!

Yeah I’m not giving up my schadenfreude okay!? I was told a romance story would unfold on top of all these other genres and I’m not giving up on this crazy twisted love triangle/square!

Whatever crazy shit that happens, I will welcome...as long as it’s not the ‘out of the blue pregnancy trope’ I don’t want ANYTHING tying Sunny and that Emperor together and I don’t need something else to keep a wedge between Sunny and Wang Shik’s slow burning romance...I stfg I will quit this show.

I’ll take anything! I’ll even take some whack ass plot of WS turning out to be a secret love child of his mother and the Late Emperor, making him and LH half brothers or being a cousin...we don’t know anything about Wang Shik’s father or if the late emperor had any siblings that might have gone into hiding for whatever reason. If the writer decides to delve into who Wang Shik’s father is.

We still don’t know piss all about Empress Dowager’s relationship with the Late Emperor or how he died or whether or not he had a secret affair or had a sibling she chased out of the palace that would be a threat to either one of her son’s taking the throne. 

Because at first, I honestly thought the younger brother was LH half brother from another mother and that’s why he ran away from the palace because ED is insane, turns out he ran anyway because mother dearest is full of greed and brother is a jealous asshole. 

...Just saying...maybe the english title of this drama is literal...maybe it’s not...*shrugs* idfk, but I did watch ‘Here comes Jang Bo Ri’ and ‘My Daughter Geum Sa Wol’ so I know this writer seems to, in a sense likes to use the ‘birth secret trope’

again..just sayin...
