i'll of course be digesting war of the rohirrim over the next few days and criticisms will take shape as my raw excitement abates. that said the movie's reviews on letterboxd are so fucking depressing. you people can't enjoy anything. i hope you die. i hope we all die.

#someone said it's worse than the battle of the five armies. hello??????????#i dont want to make this a gender issue but i cant ignore the fact that the majority of the reviews i scrolled through were from men #which could mean nothing #the film definitely leans on Vibes rather than lore but it's a character-driven story #and i hate to break it to you but tolkien himself is a Vibes type of guy #his unparalleled specificity ultimately serves a world of goodness and beauty and memory and magic #against abject evil and ugliness and the destructive power of despair.#if there's no room in lotr for a beautifully animated Vibes kind of film what are we even doing here :/#they did NOT make every single character hot for 'lifelong lotr fan-' tony to give the movie 1 star on letterboxd!!#war of the rohirrim #lotr
