Oshi No Ko Episode 18 Review - Akane's Oshi No Ko

“Oshi no Ko” has two definite meanings:

My bias (oshi is Japanese idol slang for bias) in the sense of having a favorite star or character (it can be used for fictional media or just someone you idolize in general)

My bias’s child (which is the premise of the story as Goro and Sarina died and reincarnated into Aqua and Ruby Hoshino, their idol bias Ai Hoshino’s child).

Kana is basically Akane’s “oshi no ko” in the sense that she was her idol (the first definition). She’s the source of Akane’s admiration and idolization. Because she wanted to be like her that she chose to become an actress. However, there is a saying that one should never meet their heroes because her actual encounter with Kana as a kid changed her. She learned about the harshness of the entertainment world with how auditions can be rigged. It was because of that one encounter with Kana that she chose to read about psychology obsessively (how is that librarian not questioning the types of books Akane was reading at the library?) and that’s how her acting improved and how she got to where she is now.

Akane and Kana’s rivalry is so interesting to watch because of their circumstances and how it leads to where they are now. Akane and Kana both got into acting, but the type of acting they were in are very different. Kana was the child star of the film industry while Akane was the child star of the theater industry. Akane has supportive parents while it doesn’t seem like Kana has her parents around as she did mention they live elsewhere in Season 1. Akane is the one dating Aqua while Kana is stuck in a one-sided love with him. They have such a complicated respect for one another and I like it a lot. This is how rivalries should be like—wanting the best for each other but also wanting to one-up the other. I think the best thing about their rivalry is that Akane hates the actress Kana has become in the present. She loved the Kana who was radiant when the focus was on her. She hates the Kana who has to step back to let others shine.

However, what Akane does not know was that her first meeting with Kana was after Kana met Aqua who had upstaged her in their first acting gig together. That encountered had caused Kana to be in an inner turmoil for the next twelve years. He had humbled her and then the rest of her child star years had been going through situations where she’d just get work because they need her. After her re-encounter with Aqua, Kana now knows how to give others spotlight when needed. However, she still holds back even when she wants to go all out. I hope that she’s able to revive that radiance next episode. I feel like it’s going to be like that.

The animation was really good. It wasn’t as great as the previous episode, but I loved how Princess Saya was shown. I also loved the part where Saya twirls around and then pans to Akane as a teen and a child reaching her hands out to Kana, signaling for her to dance at the same pace as her. However, my favorite part of the episode was Kana dashing towards her idol group members until Akane, as Princess Saya, stops her. That was like a jump scare in a way. I thought there was something wrong with the video at first.

The voice acting for Akane was really good. I always associated Manaka Iwami as a soft-toned actress, but this episode got me rethinking. She can pull off a deeper voice and she should use that in future works. It’s just too good. I can’t wait to hear Manaka Iwami voice cool older ladies or stoic girls because I know she can pull those off well.

I honestly can’t wait for next week’s episode. I feel like it’s going to shine on Kana and show off why she’s the genius child actress who can break into tears in ten seconds. However, I can’t deny that Akane was the star of this episode. What are your thoughts on this episode?

hai! hello! i just finishing reading your post a few minutes ago. It's interesting as always the way you give your opinion with the proof. And i agree with that too!

But, i have a question. All this time Aqua using Akane for his revange. And when he found out that Akane in danger after fell from bridge, he letting her go for her own safe. He even says stop doing dengerous thing multiples times before he left her (chapter 98). But we found out that he waiting Akane to finishing her casting with Ruby and Frill until midnight just for remembering her to not doing such any dengerous things. If i'm not mistaken he said "But, i can't says it again and again" (to remembering her not doing such dengerous things). And like we knows Akane want to stop Aqua plan that's why Aqua/Goro being like the devil in that panel. (Chapter 116)

Meanwhile, for Kana. He never want to use her for his own revange. He never shows the real he is (or maybe when Aqua talks about himself when they plays catching ball when Aqua in LoveNow show to make sure his feeling for Akane) and Kana seems lost and don't understand at all what Aqua saying and called him weird if i'm not mistaken. Is more like one sided love and i never see Aqua in romanticly to Kana (or maybe i just don't feel it with their development). All i know Kana is the only friend that Aqua have after all. That's why he can be himself like in the past (more cheerful), but when with Akane he can be himself, the real himself. He shows his darkness and the cheerful him to her. Aqua only shows a good side of him to Kana.

The question in this series is what is Ai for Aqua? And what is Kana to Aqua?. This two question that given in the manga. And still no answear until now. But we also haven't seen their development after chapter 40.

When Aqua don't want to drag Akane to the hell, there is Aqua drag Kana and manipulated her with sweet words because he knows that Kana likes her and knows her weakness about him. And also after they both being a good friend there's Memcho happy with their relationship back to normal again and Kana seems to be happy again. But Memcho want his relationship with Akane to be good too.

Aqua answear make me confused, because he said he don't need to have that kind of relationship that makes him happy (with Akane) and giving up to be happy with that relationship. His answear is more goes to romantic feels than platonic. And he says he is more comfortable building a good relationship with Kana. And in his mind he wanted to use Kana. (Idk but maybe Aqua want to be close to Kana (again) because he want to using her, that's what i though when i read the panels). He stopping Akane but dragging Kana to his revange.

We can see if Akane and Aqua goes to platoic route or romantic route because they have both routes with proofs. But Kana and Aqua ? I'm so confused with them. A Platonic? Romantic? i can't really see it for romantic but there is some for platonic because Kana fine to be friend with him (chapter 117 about the Panda one). All i know Aqua and Kana is more like motivating for each other dreams (As an actress, idol to Kana and Actor to Aqua). I know Aqua looks amaze when Kana on stage and when Kana on her mode as an actress. But, i don't see anything romantic. (I'm not really good at reading romantic route actually lol)

If the end game romantic is Arima Kana just because she is the light in this series, i feel a bit strange to ghe story because Aqua-Akane have so much development who really importent to goes to romantic one.

Moreover, Akasaka said the ending was in sight. If they were to develop Aqua—Kana here would seem rushed and a bit pushy.

What do you think about this? Aqua—Akane is too far to reach their relationship if Aqua—Kana want to be end game. AquaKane had them all. Even their bond (AquaKane) is more stonger. They have been through a lot of things together.

I feel like I don't have much to add because I agree with your conclusion. Unlike you, I do think that it's easy to see Aqua's feelings towards Kana as romantic—I even think Aqua himself may perceive them this way, if these panels are any indication:

But just like you, I think Aqua and Kana are severely outmatched in the development department, specially because Kana just doesn't know who he truly is. She just knows the sides of himself that Aqua has wanted to show her. The one time she saw a glimpse of how broken Aqua is, nothing at all came out of it.

Look at the way Kana describes Aqua here, in comparison to what Akane says about him just a few chapters later. Like yeah, Kana is right: his girlfriend does feel at ease with him. But it's not because Aqua is "straight and sincere", it's because Akane knows he is a liar who is doing his best to be straight with her.

"Sincere" Aqua and "liar" Aqua are two sides of the same coin, he is as capable of being the former as he is of the latter, which is why it's so important that whoever he is with can see the full picture.

Considering how long ago he set them up, I'm not sure I'd consider it rushed but "pushy" is exactly how that ship feels like to me lol Like the story really pushes it (constant reminders of Kana's feelings for Aqua, of how sad Kana is whenever Aqua ignores her, of how "obsessed" Aqua is supposed to be with her, etc.), but never does anything actually meaningful with it. In all honesty, it feels very forced to me because it's like the ship is a walking trope at the service of whatever symbolism Aka wants to convey through it by the end of the story.

He can still start developing them now of course, and I imagine that if he wants them to be endgame, he will need to start doing so. The truth is though that Aka can do whatever he wants and I still won't ship it, because the one that has the kind of gradual, organic, dynamic, complex, multilayered, parallel-filled development I'm a sucker for are Aqua and Akane, whether you look at their relationship platonically or romantically. So this is why I don't really bother with the whole: who will Aqua end up with? debate, Aqua can end up alone for all I care and that won't change the fact that his dynamic with Akane is my favorite 😂

I'll try and do all these by tonight so here we go! Hm, Scorpio sun, Cancer moon, and Aquarius rising. I see a girl with a long braid immediately off the bat. She looks like she's somewhat doing ballet (this has become a recent theme in my readings lol along with dancing) i feel like you may have had a nice childhood somewhere along those lines. The sign that reaches most is the Scorpio sun, it takes the form of its most known large Scorpion. Its huge enough to be bigger than an elephant, black and rigid she'll covers it's body. When I feel it it comforts me. Unexplainable companionship. The Scorpion loves it's hosts as much as they can, and at times can be huge dogs when wanted up. This is kinda of the feeling I get from them. Many dots sparkle and decorate it's shell, seems as if the paint of the clouds had fallen on its back and left a pattern. They gave darkened your waters and left you dyed in a way. Those times may be over soon or even now. Either that or future wise they will happen. The reflections in the waters tell me your last lives have gone through much prejudice form others. "Mother" "mommy" the little boy cries for his mother but no one comes. A darker theme than intended with Thai reading. He seems as if he's done something he will regret or will do something. (I feel so weird cause my body is holding his face and he looks so cute but this is a bad timing) I feel like he's comforted by this action though. Climbing up to the scorpions back with me. Holding my shirt tight. We've been here for what seems like years. This boy needs a mother. I feel it somehow manifested the Scorpio sun and possible Aquarius ascendent. Every trace of him lost on the earth is left imprinted in the waters of the ground, and the specks on the Scorpion. Now that I look around it seems all this around us has a piece of him. He's out so much into this world the zodiacs live in. I feel bad for him In a way. The Scorpio sun is only a guide front what I see, there's nothing but friendship to find in this domain. Tall pillars of housing sometimes left empty. The more I see it it becomes some kind of anime story lord. "brother" and stuff like that came from the archer's mouth, taking the kid and his hand. He seems worried and relieved. But then asks "how or why did you leave your assigned area" we were once at the hip now at the chest and shoulders of the host. A path of some sort. Was the boy supposed to stay there? If that was his brother why would he want him there though. I don't think he wanted him to. I think it was a form of protection. The whole Village of people live inside the host. Possible conscience? You think like a butterfly in a trap sometimes. "Where do I go?" "What do I do?" Looking back and forth for answers and ideas. The archer is your guard. Defending the sanction of your beloved forest. Families and loved ones all around. They work hard to keep the dark waters at bay. White clothing covers each person. I don't know what more I can get here but I believe the Cancer moon is your friend to the end. Protecting everyone isn't easy, sometimes it kins you so much it takes over completely.

The Scorpio sun needs to stay back here I believe. I may need it later but not now.

Lastly, we approach the Aquarius ascendent. A cold domain, filled with chains and air. Cold and thick enough to cut someone's skin when commanded. The Aquarius has no form but a vessel. An iron one with bolt and sweat work. It's not locked up I believe. Either protected or exiled in a way? It may have made the shell itself to protect it's form and stars. When it opens it shows the constellation, dark colors and idealized purple and blues. The stars feel like gumballs. As if I could pop one in and chew it. There's not much here but we'll see. Possible medical issues younger or older, the child at the beginning could have been a sibling or family member of not you. I feel you closed some parts off to people, it's not bad you just seem to be so kind it hurts your Aquarius at times.

Over all, I didn't do well enough in trading so let's see. I see cold soups, prepared dinners, family gathering, people moving and being together, joy on the outside. As if a movie of good times is on the screen. Your Cancer moon is so skilled it sometimes seems different to other people, a chance of people calling you things at times but not fairly much. With the Aquarius ascendant there's probably even more of that.

Characteristics: possible beauty marks on the face, or stomach. Your hair is either very tangled or very soft and parted often. Vera - Also know as V, Vera Bazhaar is my main girl with the link to Silverhand. V's nickname was picked up after leaving her nomad clan the Bakkers. She needed something quick, easy and memorable that didn't lend out her full name. (V stands for Very creative alias) She also adores the amount of sex jokes the name V has since opened up for her.

There is also a part of her that wanted to separate herself from that period of her life. But as she’s had time to move on she’s gotten ok with her close friends calling her Vera.

Nyx - Born as Salone redacted

Nyx decided to name herself after the primordial goddess of darkness to protect her identity and reflect her place of being a powerful person in the shadows. It also unintentionally reflects their minor god complex. (Also to be noted Nyx identifies as nonbinary and uses she/he/they pronouns.)

Dante - Rockerboy with the stage name Dante Aguatavana but the people from home know him as Davidson. 

Before he had built any kind of career Davidson was just the tough guy on the street. But on top of being the tough guy he was known for taking care of his own without needing any familial or gang ties to them. If you were from his neighborhood you could come to him. 

As this reputation grew with his neighbors as he got older people, especially women would come to him seeking help from abuse and dangerous friends or family. 

Not everyone has the Mox to back them up when this kind of trouble starts up Davidson was the one to turn to. 

This quickly became a way to discreetly get rid of abusers, often staged as a break in or robbery gone wrong that was common enough in the area to not raise an eyebrow. The abusers would be killed without a trail to follow, just like the poison Aqua Tofana from times long past.

Dante took this name to honor his origin and remind him of his values during his rise. Determined to never let himself slip away when he found fame.

Vera - Sedak - (OC) Vera's best choom is a Solo named Sedak. He's a flashy type of guy with a killer attitude who's always dripping in gold. Their styles don't exactly match but when they work together they get an amazing synergy going. With V hacking targets and sniping from the shadows while Sedak keeps all eyes on him and his mantis blades.

Judy feels like home to be around. Not the same way the Aldicacos do, with tents, campfires and a sister, who she considers Panama to be. But in the way that lets the world wash away when she comes home to her. The way that making her smile has turned into her daily goal. Judy has the bit of genius in her that keeps V hooked. They've both got ideas for technology just in different ways with techie know how and V's netrunner experience. She knows they can make amazing things together and it's all the more reason to spend as much time as possible together.

Nyx - It's hard to find people who can understand who they are as a person now. For so long working for corporations defined their life and now with finding a new purpose it seems that others couldn't quite see past that label.

Delamain - It says something about a person when your best choom is a car… But Del can understand her in ways others can’t. Both attempting to defy their purpose but not quite knowing how. She couldn't bear to reset a freedom that they had worked so hard to achieve. Del has proven to be a great friend, able to offer advice, listen and never judge her gruff way of speaking. Now without the taxi service they're free to roam together. They have dinner while watching the sunset together at least once a week.

Dante - (OC) Her personality is not for everyone and she is starkly aware of the fact. She built walls to protect herself and hurled insults from the ramparts. Dante was able to laugh off the insults and threw some back even. Often just going for a laugh but sometimes actual critiques that made her think. By being Dante's choom Nyx has grown as a person and become more understanding and personable.

Dante - When you can have good days of being surrounded by groupies and bad days of trash magazines and exes trying to ruin your reputation it's hard to tell who's truly your friend. You can’t trust those who just kiss your ass or idolize you. It's just a race to see who's heart gets broken first when you come crashing off the pedestal.

Edward Shawnalore - (OC) But with Edward Shawnalore he doesn't feel like there is that layer of rose colored glass between them. They meet during a bar fight, fighting back to back and watching out for each other while they teamed up against all the pissed off patrons. Ed says what he means and sure he's a bit angsty and mixed up in the head at times but he's still figuring things out on his own. They’ve always have time for banter and quick jabs during gunfights. They really bonded on finding out that not only did they have the same taste in music but they both made music the other liked. He wasn’t really expecting to fall in love with Ed when it happened but sometimes it just it just hits ya at the most unexpected times

34. Do they have siblings?

Vera - Vera was raised very communally. Her family really took "It takes a village" literally. Therefore she feels like she had many siblings as well as many parental figures in her life.

But with this abundance of family she did in fact have an older brother by blood. His name was Axel and he was obsessed with fixing and building cars. Always helping show Vera around the shop. She was never too interested in how cars worked or how to fix them, opting to just bring them to her brother if they needed work. But she fell in love with driving. The newer the better, she was always so interested in technological advancement.

Nyx - Grew up as an only child and has never gotten used to sharing or not having things her way. Her family put untold resources into creating and raising the perfect daughter. But she didn’t turn out to be that in many ways. 

Unfortunately this still affects Nyx and they can tell but can’t quite fix it. They have a hard time making and maintaining friendships. They often can’t quite tell where the line between friendly and hostile is due to being raised by cold handlers and tutors who she thought loved her, giving her this warped perception of what love is.

Dante - He has two older brothers and a little sister. 

The eldest, Aurelio went off to war and came back in pieces not really the same. He's been on a slow path to recovery and he lives at home with their Mother. He says he's there to help take care of her and Dante lets him have that. They never got along as kids but are slowly working on rebuilding a relationship.

The second son, Emilio joined the Valentinos. He's been sticking to the gangoon lifestyle ever since. He and Dante don't really see each other that often but they say hi whenever they pass each other at Padre's.

Lainey was a surprise baby for the whole family. Dante's mother, Mariela thought she wasn't able to get pregnant anymore and… well now there is a toddler in the house and Dante is just trying to be a good big brother for her whenever he's around.

scorpio is one of the most misunderstood signs in my honest opinion. 

they’re inherently contradictory because they can be sneaky, calculated and all that scary scorpio hooplah.

but if you’ve got a scorpio in your corner they’ll literally die before they let you down, and can be martyrs in a sense? not to the point a pisces would be, but if it came down to it, they’d put themselves in the line of fire before they even let their loved ones NEAR IT. 

they’re the types to suffer a lot for the sake of the people they care about, and never tell them because they understand the emotional weight it may have on them. 

so even if there are actual problems, they don’t want the others to see it at all because they don’t to give them even an ounce of that burden.

they do have a sense of secrecy and with that comes this vibe that they’ve got a hidden agenda. 

and honestly they probably do??? and that’s not necessarily a bad thing if they’re well-developed.

they have these “hidden agendas” not because they set out to be sneaky or secretive, but because they’re so goal oriented, persistent, and determined. 

everything they do, they see how it traces back to their ultimate goal and are constantly chipping away at it and keeping an eye out for opportunities.

may it be professionally, socially, personally -- whatever goal it is, they do not put forth any ancillary effort. if they’re doing it, it’s with purpose. 

so it may seem superficial and manipulative for them to have these agendas in the forefront of their minds, but that doesn’t negate the sincerity that they live their lives by. 

the goals are obviously always there, but if you’re sitting face-to-face with a scorpio you’re getting the real deal. they are there, they are present, and they’re not about to waste your time. 

there is something about them that sincerely requires a great deal of trust for you to truly vibe with them. 

they feel connected with people when there is a level of assumption in their positive intentions, or a level of trust being put in their competence. 

and this is something well-developed scorpios OBSESS OVER. 

they are absolutely terrified of dropping the ball for the people they care about. 

if they DO manage to drop the ball, it’s a good thing to just not harp on it as they probably have the whole situation mapped out and where they messed up, why, and how they could have done it better. not to mention how upset with themselves they’d feel. 

they’re so protective. 

i love seeing a scorpio click into action. 

if they catch wind about someone saying something mean or doing something questionable to someone they care about -- they instantly start studying them. 

to check if they’re okay, for one, but it’s also because they’re calculating their plan of attack.

out of nowhere, you just start getting questions “what did they say? what’s their name? when did they say that?” 

they’re getting ready to POUNCE my dude. 

and that’s the ultimate sign of scorpio love. 

they feel as though someone truly understands them when they acknowledge what’s underneath their cold and intense aura, and trusts that they mean well. 

(i say cold and intense as a generalization, tho do not get me wrong, scorpios can be super fuzzy people) 

not only that, but because they are so goal oriented, they really like feeling as though their loved ones will continue to understand and support them even if their attention can get pretty tunnel visioned. 

it’s very similar to how earth signs are these very consistent, reliable people. they like being someone their loved ones can trust and it’s very clear in their intentions. 

where they differ from scorpios is that earth signs go about this by trying to bring stability to (or in the face of) turbulence. 

scorpio, on the other hand, is already an incredibly dynamic and turbulent sign in and of themselves. 

they are aware of this and do not try and fight it as they see it as a part of their inherent nature, maybe even one of their strengths. 

scorpio is the sign of transformation, and natives with this sign are constantly in a state of flux. 

what’s so fixed about them is their values. 

it’s the integrity they go about things that remains the same regardless of the circumstances.

if he weren’t an idol he’d 100% be an artist, maybe fashion designer -- something he could potential enterprise while also allowing him access to a very clear and vast outlet for his avant garde expression. 

so so so unique, his aqua influence is very strong which is why he is so experimental with his fashion and so unapologetic. 

his sag mars means he’s got a vast array of interests and goes about pursuing them with gusto. 

he wants to get his hands on everything.

that aqua innovation, cap aspirations, and scorpio determination means he really wants to put his creative signature on the world. 

he honestly would more than likely never tell people his exact goals as he wants to remain limitless in his opportunities. 

and tbh his more practical influences like cap and scorpio would probably tell him he’s being silly for having such big dreams and to get to work before he starts telling people about them.

Let’s Talk About Steven Universe

*WARNING* This … “essay” has my opinions only. I am not speaking for the community, I am speaking for me because I like to express myself and there are people like @susanaaatc​ out there who like these kinds of discussions. So if you want, I’d like for others to give me their whole opinions on the show as well. Hell make a whole post about it like I did and tag me in it so that I can see your opinion. With all that stated, let’s get down to Bismuth.

So Steven Universe came out in 2013 and I was 11 years old at the time. I liked Regular Show and Adventure Time, not to mention I was obsessed with Rise of the Guardians and Monster High, so I was a bit preoccupied to watch the show. Eventually though, my best friend at the time talked about it constantly and she brought up the concept of fusion. She showed me the art book of the show that she bought and it showed how two completely different gems could fuse into one gem to become stronger. This is where my interest started, and it was the same concept that started pushing me away from SU later in it’s show run. 

So fusion in Steven Universe is mostly treated as a relationship, and it’s not always just romantic. It can be between two friends, it can be seen as a more sexual relationship between two gems, a romantic relationship, or a parent-child relationship like with Steg (Steven and Greg’s fusion). This is an amazing concept and I love it so much but… I’m not here to talk about what I like, I’m here to talk about what I dislike. 

One of the best characters in the show is Garnet. Garnet was revealed in season 2 (I think) to be a fusion between the two tiny gems Ruby and Sapphire, and Garnet is the manifestation of their love. She’s an amazing example of not only a healthy, respecting, and loving relationship between two people, but also is an amazing example of a healthy same-sex relationship. You see, Steven Universe uses “code” to represent something like race, gender, and age… But we’ll get to that later. My problem isn’t really with Garnet herself, but what Rebecca and the Crewniverse has made her in to. Many have said it before, and I agree. After her reveal as a fusion, Garnet was no longer the cool, collected, fun-in-her-own-way “mom” we knew before, she turned into a fusion, and a symbol for fusion, and a representation… of a fusion. After the reveal, all the crewniverse seemed to view Garnet as… was a fucking fusion! She lost a lot of personality in the 3rd and 4th seasons in my opinion and was really only used in the plot when it had something to do with fusion. To me it’s like having a friend group with only one Asian friend and the rest a different race, and then only inviting the Asian friend to hang out when you’re going to watch Anime, or a Kdrama. It’s a bit racist is it not? Just because you can relate a character to something in the plot does not mean that character has to be there. Maybe instead of putting Garnet in every fusion episode (with the exception of “Earthlings”) just mention her. She doesn’t have to be in every damn episode that has to do with the subject. 

A lot of people have an issue with Bismuth… and I can understand that. Let me explain why. “Coding” is what a creator of any media does to give the consumer an idea of a character’s personality, race, age, gender, etc, without it being too obvious. Off the top of my head I’ll state what I view the “coded” characters as.

 Garnet, Sapphire, Sugilite, and Bismuth are coded Black.

Amethyst to my knowledge is coded Hispanic or Latina or something like that.

Pearl, the Diamonds, Opal, and Rose Quartz are coded White.

Rainbow Quartz and Aqua Marine are coded White and British.

And I’m not sure about Peridot, Lapis and Jasper are supposed to be coded as.

So the race thing has brought up some issues. In the official artbook that I mentioned earlier there was a concept design for Concrete and the design was a little… oof. People weren’t very happy… lemme just show you.

So obviously people weren’t happy that good ol’ Concrete here looks like a blackface character from the early 20th century animations. And I agree it’s pretty bad, but I don’t think it was intentional. 

Some controversial things that come from the show (other than countries like Kenya being assholes and trying to act like LGBTQ doesn’t exist) are the portrayals of two specific characters, who also happen to be fusions, and I agree with most things people don’t like about them.

Let’s start with Stevonnie. Stevonnie is the nonbinary (but let’s be honest she’s a girl) fusion of Steven Universe and his love interest Connie Maheswaran (I had to look up how to spell her last name smh). They’re supposed to represent Steven and Connie’s closeness as best friends and their growing crushes on each other. Rebecca Sugar has also stated that they’re a representation of puberty…. Excuse me? Puberty must have went swell for you Sugar. There’s someone who made a video about why they hate SU, that person being the ever controversial Lily Orchard, and she covered why Stevonnie is just… honestly she’s waifu bait. I agree with probably everything Lily says about this character because… it’s true. Puberty seriously ain’t pretty, and it sure as hell ain’t sexy until after it’s done… sometimes. Also, Sugar is contradicting herself saying that the Crewniverse isn’t sexualizing two very under age kids because Stevonnie is Steven and Connie’s ages added up… which would make the fusion 26 years old… that’s a bit old for puberty Rebecca. It feels to me like they wanted to make a sensual character, and there’s nothing wrong with that, but they didn’t really want to add a new character so they just put the two love interests together. But that’s so fucking wrong. I’m sorry, but sexualizing Stevonnie, which they are doing btw, I will make a post if you question it, is like people shipping siblings or an underage person with someone way older than them and saying “it’s totally fine because they’re just characters” (*cough cough* Ereri *cough cough* Hitachiin shippers *cough*). If you’re going to use that excuse, but then get angry at people who don’t take the character seriously because they are just a cartoon, then you’re a hypocritical asshole. Sorry to tell you. Stevonnie is a very good character overall though. I’m just uncomfortable when they appear because they’re two kids in a trench-coat with curves like an anime schoolgirl and moves like someone who just successfully seduced a poor guy into giving them the secret to the Crabby Patty formula.

Now let’s move on to Steg, the fusion between father Greg Universe, and son Steven. There’s nothing wrong with them fusing because fusion in SU symbolizes a relationship, no matter what kind. However… why do two chubby men make a sex symbol rock idol??? That’s… that’s gross. Why the fuck is Steg so “hot”? Why on earth would you create a fusion out of a father and son and think it’s appropriate to sexualize them and make them gyrate their genitals like they’re an Elvis Presley impersonator? Just… WHY? Do I even have to explain why this is so wrong? Really? Honestly??? You can fuse Steven and Greg and not make it so sexual, but nah let’s give them rock hard abs, a humongous bulge a sharp jawline that neither of the two have, and a tight ass. What the actual fuck?? 

That’s not my biggest issue though. My biggest issue is giving the Nazi bitches a redemption ark smaller than my nonexistent cock. Endeavor from My Hero Academia is an absolute prick right? He abused his children, notably his youngest, and his wife, and is an absolute asshole to everyone, but he gets a redemption arch. Do you know why it makes sense though? First off because as far as we know Endeavor never committed genocide, and second because he’s not a Nazi, he’s an abuser. Abusers, whether we like to admit it or not, can eventually see the error of their ways and understand that what they’re doing is both wrong and that it doesn’t work. Endeavor is getting a redemption arch because he obviously loves his kids, he just doesn’t know how to show it because of some circumstances we may not know. 90% of the time an abuser was abused themselves growing up, so they grow up with that resentment and they go one of two ways. They see how wrong it is and knows that it won’t get them anywhere in life if they bully others to stay on top, or they think that since they went through it and came out alive, then others should go through it too. I should know, because my dad was from an abusive family, and he turned out fine(ish… long story) while his brother and sister are pieces of shit that can’t hold a job or a home because they’re too involved in criminal activity to do so. 

What does Endeavor from MHA have to do with the Space Nazi Diamonds in SU? Well people were sending Horikoshi Kohei death threats because he had the gull to redeem an asshole, and SU fans are pissed because Rebecca Sugar had the lady balls to “redeem” space Nazis. The difference being, you can be redeemed if you were an abusive cock, but not if you’re a genocidal bitch. There’s a huge difference. 

Rebecca and the Crewniverse giving the Diamonds a 4 episode redemption arch is absolutely abominable. Peridot’s redemption? Fucking amazing, beautiful, couldn’t have done it better myself. Jasper’s? It’s currently going amazing and they’re doing a great job keeping her in character while also making her likable and even a bit charming. Lapis? Oh… let’s talk about her shall we?

Lapis Lazuli’s character is an absolute disaster. She’s a cunt, she’s a horrible friend, and my god is she abusive! Lapis was supposed to be a sympathetic character, and for a while she was. You could feel bad for her because her gem was damaged and she was trapped in a mirror for thousands of years and when she’s finally released, you understand her want to go back home and why she took the Earth’s ocean to try and reach it. It was understandable when she didn’t want to break out of the prison ship because she was anxious and scared of being locked away for another thousand years. It was easier in her mind to just behave and wait. When Jasper convinced her to fuse with her Lapis didn’t really want to, but saw an opening for the freedom of the humans and mostly for Steven, the one person who saved her from hell. But then everything went south.

Lapis and Jasper were fused as Malachite for months, obviously in a very stressful “relationship”, and apparently a very abusive one as well. When they were finally able to unfuse, Lapis was played off by the Crewniverse as a victim of abuse. This may be half true. After all we don’t know exactly what happened with them at the bottom of the ocean. What we do know however is that Lapis admitted to being abusive. This makes her an abuser. She described how it made her feel happy to abuse Jasper, or “taking my anger out” on her. She admitted to abuse and the Crewniverse still painted her as a victim. They’re both victims of abuse, and they’re both abusers. But that’s not what makes Lapis a horrible person… gem…

Lapis is a cunt… again. It’s okay to be antisocial, it’s okay to be cautious and stand-offish because you’ve been trapped, imprisoned and used so many times. What’s not okay is being a bitch to people trying to comfort or make friends with you, or try to cheer you up. Poor Peri, she was just trying to make amends and comfort Lapis after her whole ordeal with Jasper. Peri offered the cunt the thing that helped her organize her thoughts, the thing that calmed her in situations that made her anxious, the thing that comforted her and the first gift given to her by her first friend and the first person that listened to her thoughts, and the cunt destroyed it. She destroyed Peri’s recorder right in front of her, calling it garbage. Oh and the abuse doesn’t stop there, it only really began, because when shit started to hit the fan, instead of helping each other through it, Lapis abandoned Peridot and took the home they shared. Without a single thought she just took it and abandoned her, and it devastated Peri. I don’t remember her apologizing, and if she did it doesn’t matter because if I don’t remember then it must not have been very sincere. 

I’m sick of spitting negative shit so I’m gonna end this here. Personally I’ve been liking the last few episodes, but I’m not too confident that the finale is gonna be satisfying. Those are my thoughts, do with it as you will, but for God’s sake be fucking adults about it. If you don’t got the guts to curse without saying “h3ll” or “pu$$y” or something like that then you’re not mature enough to respond to this. I’m not gonna argue with 9-year-olds. I’ll only have a conversation with mature people.

 indicates that the house person looks up to (maybe idolizes) & respects the moon person, since 9th house is about learning, inspiration, philosophies, etc. usually shared belief systems. good placement as it’s agreeable and comforting, and spurs inspiration! house person learns from moon person. 

our moons do square one another though! both cardinal signs. so while the above is all well and good, there’s still a bit of friction lmao.

my sun is in his 4th house

planets (esp sun/moon/venus) in the 4th tend to be pretty intimate -- it’s the house of home, foundations, tends to be a “darker” part of our chart (it’s the lowest part of our charts, while MC is the highest!). 

house person’s inner domestic is stimulated & lit up by the sun person, generally wants to settle down for the long haul. sense of familiarity. both sun and house person are able to feel close and comfortable with one another. can also indicate fast friendships!

his venus is in my 4th house

there’s sweetness here (and again, something intimate and understanding). shared values. very homey placement where house and planet person just want to chill with one another alone. planet person tends to fit in well with house person’s family (he and my dad are in very similar professions!). generally indicates peaceful home life. 

our venus signs are also sextile one another (& he’s an aqua venus so literally what isn’t there to like lmao)

brings some energy and activity to the home life. i’ve seen some articles/posts about people saying this could bring violence or aggression to the home, but i think that’s just a mischaracterization of mars (like how neptune is sometimes boiled down to drug use lmao). can indicate planet person not getting along with house person’s family, or on the flip side being active & involved with house family.

kind of a tricky position (sorry aries boy) since 8th house is a more sensitive area of the chart. planet person can get under house person’s skin, maybe prod at psychological areas. but it isn’t all negative -- it’s a matter of being careful. i unfortunately have a fiery leo mars sooo 😔 this is more about me needing to be sensible

also worth noting that our mars signs are opposite one another, but don’t aspect. (my mars/his venus do aspect w a tight orb though).

a weird one because his sun is just baaaarely in my 5th house --  my 6th house starts in aries at 12′37, his sun is at 12′15. so technically in my 5th?

with 5th house, house person feels creative and playful when around planet person. fairly quick physical attraction here, too (with 5th house being house of romance). sun feels attracted to house person’s attitude. shared hobbies and activities. apparently can also mean planet person bringing children into house person’s life (i find this interesting -- his youngest brother is ten years younger than i am, and he’s like a younger sibling i never had :’)) 

with 6th house, planet person can be more nitpicky and judgmental of house person, as the sun shines on the house of daily habits, health, routines, etc. (also interesting; he’s not actually judgmental of my routine/habits, but i worry a lot that he is! i seem more aware of these things around him. so maybe there’s some influence of the sun here, but indirectly.)

i can’t really find anything concrete on this lmao. but the gist i get is that when these larger aspects of life (ac/ic/dc/mc) come together in synastry, it can create a sturdy bond

saturn is haaaard. but, both of our saturns have generally favorable aspects to one another and our other planets. the only kind of difficult aspects are between his saturn and my venus & neptune 🙃 

his saturn is square my venus, which can cause friction -- venus wants to be loved, and saturn can serve a lot of judgement lol. saturn wants venus to grow up and be more responsible (which! i’m younger than him by five years so it’s kind of this inherent thing). it can also indicate an issue with starting the relationship (yeeeep).

jupiter in 8th can indicate a sharing of resources, wanting to get to know one another on a deep, intimate level. beneficial to house person in particular (100% this -- my grad student ass is so grateful for him 😭)

Rockman.EXE Episodes 26 and 27. Special Summer Review!

Stand back! Iceman is gonna explode!

It’s summer everyone! This is a special review, we have reached season 2 of the first saga of Rockman.EXE! Today I am gonna review two episodes since not only are they beach episodes, but because these two episodes were never aired in America. That’s right, these are two of the four skipped episodes that were never dubbed, so in America, after Rockman’s revival, we skip to episode 28. 

Why were these episodes never shown in America? Let’s find out!

Spooky.

We open the first skipped episode in an airport where Netto seems ready to travel somewhere all by himself, with his parents and friends seeing him off.

“So what you’re saying is that if I’m losing in a Net Battle I activate the instant win button, right?”

Netto is ready to leave until his useless mom tells him something before leaving.

Playing the “favoritism card”, aren’t we? It’s bad enough that she sucks as a mom, but now she worries about his Navi more than her own son? And also, WHO LETS THEIR ELEVEN YEAR OLD TRAVEL ABROAD ALL BY HIMSELF?!

Netto’s plane leaves, and his friends let us know that he has won some kind of trip for winning second place in the N-1 tournament, right before Dekao shows everyone his swimming trousers.

Just... why?

In the plane, we see that just like with cellphones, PETs have to be turned off before take off. Netto turns on his PET and and sees the sun outside the window, he and Rockman then share a cute moment.

Aww.

The title card appears, and Netto arrives at his first destination, Uki Yuugi (Placent game) beach at the Southern Islands, where he is surprised to find that Meiru-chan and the others are there too!

I like their shared reactions. Wait, why does Rockman call Yaito “sama”?

Yaito explains, with a view of her very own comercial plane, that she was planning to take everyone to Jyawaii and decided to stop at the southern islands on the way, where she just happens to have her own summer mansion.

At the summer “house”, the PETs seem to be conected to eachother as we can see that the Navis, including Rush, are all enjoying a cyber version of the beach, each wearing a typical beach item.

Rockman looks so cute with goggles!

Everyone except for Iceman who, since he is an ice Navi, doesn’t go well with the cyber sun.

We then cut to Netto and the others playing in the ocean, until suddenly, a mechanical shark leaps out of the water over Netto’s head. It turns out to be Masa-san who is there for some reason, but why is the robotic shark huge in the next shot?

Also, does the aquarium know that Masa-san has their shark?

Netto invites Masa-san to play with them, Yaito and Meiru say that they are gonna rest at the summer house, but not before Yaito warns Netto about a Ghost Ship.

Whats with the pose? If a ghost appears to me like that, I would be really confused.

They all end up laughing about it, except for Dekao who is still spooked, and soon after we see the guys riding on a banana boat pulled by Masa’s robot shark. However, fog comes in and a giant ship appears.

The ship crashes into them and casts a net capturing Masa and Tohru while leaving Netto and Dekao in the middle of the ocean.

Back in the summer house, (where Meiru and Yaito seemed to have been playing UNO) they wonder what happend to the boys. Luckily, Yaito has access to a satelite camera where they quickly spot Dekao and Netto. Yaito decides to take action, with Meiru carrying all the PETs running after her.

And we get the reused footage of Yaito sitting in a couch and being transported to her very own submarine. This time the cloths are different, and I like how Meiru put a seat belt on the PETs.

To the Yaito sub! or how it’s called, to the “Yaito Mako”!

Netto and Dekao are paddling their way searching for the ship until they encounter the Yaito Mako that scares them to death, only to wake up inside it in the next shot.

They tell them about what happend and we see Rockman’s reaction to this.

“I wasn’t present when you first talked about it!”

We cut to and back from commercials with a new animation secuence with Rush being chased by a Mettool.

Our heroes catch up with the ghost ship under water, Yaito’s submarine then shoots inflatible bags at it forcing the ship to surface.

The group boards the ship, with Dekao clearly scared out of his wits, and of course, they decide to split up to search for the missing Tohru and Masa-san.

Dekao encounters the “ghost”, who anyone that played the second game know that it is a Null virus, and runs past Netto.

Shortly after, Yaito and Meiru-chan encounter the ghost as well.

What happend to calling her Yaito-sama?

Netto encounters the ghost and finds out that Meiru-chan has been captured in a net.

Netto tries to fight it off but his attacks go through it. The ghost leaves taking Meiru with it. Netto searches for everyone with Rockman hiding inside his PET.

They hear a bang coming from a door and after it falls over, giving both of them a heart attack, a freezing Tohru comes out.

He tells Netto that he was brought into the freezer along with the fish and that the ghost ship isn’t really haunted.

The two of them break into the ships control room where they encounter the ghost from before, Tohru tells Netto to plug-in to the wheel’s computer while he distracts it.

I think its safe to say that it isn’t a ghost, Rockman. And how does Tohru know this? Wasn’t he locked in the freezer until now?

Rockman starts deleting all of the aqua viruses, but an Octo virus absorbs all of the remaining viruses to transform into a bigger version of itself, blowing Rockman away with one attack. This causes the PET to activate the instant win program and Rockman gets the Heat Guts Style.

Which shouldn’t be the case since the Heat Style is suppoused to give him fire based attacks and the Octo virus is an aqua type. He defeats the virus and their friends roll out of a closet where the ghost kept them in a net.

They run up to deck where they find Masa-san who seems to be very good friends with the Null virus, I mean, ghost.

Masa says that he can understand the ghost because they are both “men of the sea” and explains that the ship’s A.I was infected with a virus, and since it is a fishing ship, it caught Masa and Tohru by mistake and Ibo ambushed them thinking that they wanted to steal the fish.

Oh, right, the ghost’s name is Ibo. The ship is returning underwater for some reason and Masa-san says good bye to his new friend before leaving with everyone.

In the next scene we see that everything went back to normal since Netto and friends are playing in the ocean again like nothing ever happen.

Iceman seems to be dying and nobody cares. XD 

Right after this, we cut over to Miyuki’s shop where she and Saloma are trying to close a suitcase thats blows up, followed by Saloma being embarrassed of her bikini bottom that lands on her head.

Turns out they are being called over by Commander Beef to solve a mystery about viruses becoming stronger.

And the episode ends with Commander Beef wondering about the problem and having an hallucination of Ibo where they go fishing together.

My thoughts.

This episode was weird, but that doesn’t explain why it was never dubbed, I guess it was because they spend a lot of time in the real world, running around in a ghost ship and playing on the beach, that we barely get any cyberworld action. So it was pretty boring for an anime that is suppoused to be action packed. And they never aknowlege that Ibo is in a fact a virus.

This episode introduces Rockman’s fear of ghosts that will become a little running gag in future seasons.

The next episode opens with a music video where a Hatsune Miku inspired character name Aki-chan is singing one of the weirdest and cheesiest songs I have ever read the lyrics from.

I also made a parody of this song in a short video I made with MMD, with Miku instead of Aki. Just so you know.

Tohru tells Netto that Aki-chan is the pop idol of Jyawaii aka Hawaii.

The Navis explain that they can’t touch her because her data is different from theirs. Which is noticeble considering that she is actually CGI, just seeing them together in the same shot is weird.

They complement how cute she is, even Rockman, but Roll has no problem with this since she also thinks Aki is cute.

“But if she even thinks of coming close to Rockman she wont be looking so cute anymore”

After talking more about Aki-chan, and also Masa-san complementing her fish shaped button, Yaito and Meiru appear to reveal their new outfits and poses.

The title card appears and it is explained that there is a contest coming up called  “The Real Aki-chan” where girls dress up as Aki and have to sing her songs, Netto finally realizes that Meiru and Yaito plan to enter the contest as well, but he doesn’t get scolded for his reaction since they suddenly hear someone screaming.

It is a terrified Mariko-sensei who is landing on a parachute, Masa tries to catch her, but is nowhere near and Mariko lands on her own.

Jesus Christ, Yaito! Can’t you just send her an e-mail like a normal person?!

And if Mariko-sensei hasn’t suffered enough, the wind blows the parachute away sending her flying again with Masa running after her.

This funny scene is followed by a shot of Miyuki and Saloma sun bathing in a boat before seeing Mariko-sensei pass by. They talk about not finding any clues regarding the powered up viruses and are interrupted by the Commander’s voice coming from a camera, who critizes their outfits or something.

Aren’t you supposed to be chasing Mariko-sensei who flew by just a minute ago?

For some reason we cut to Madoi who we see in some kind of photo shooting dressed as Aki-chan too, but then takes it off to reveal a full shot of herself in a bikini.

I burned my eyes taking this shot so you guys better leave me a good comment after this review.

Madoi is in a set she made because she is annoyed that everyone is at the southern islands except for her, and after this we also see Hinouken who looks like he is in Jyawaii hoping to find Netto so he can finally get his revenge, but it turns out he is just working at a construction site.

We cut back to Jyawaii where Netto and friends are walking around along with Mariko-sensei who seems to have gotten over the whole parachute incident and is looking foward to take part in the Aki-chan contest too.

I guess no one wants to tell her that she is a little too old  to be in the contest.

Suddenly, a giant trash cleaning machine appears and kidnaps Meiru, Yaito and Mariko-sensei.

The boys give chase to the machine. Netto, with Rockman’s help, takes a shortcut where he lands on top of the machine and activates its breaks. Unfortunately, it is the wrong one since there were different girls inside, they tell the boys how there were rumors that all the girls who entered the contest are getting kidnapped, which is confirm when they go talk to the manager of the contest.

The man is also the Manager of Aki-chan herself who is in a computer near them, she tells everyone about how sad she is for the contest being canceled if they dont stop whoever is kidnapping the participants. With this we notice that Iceman has a huge crush on Aki-chan as he promises that they will save the contest to make her happy again. 

Netto comes up with a plan to find the missing girls, and in the next scene we get this.

That’s it, I am blind now. I like the Navis reaction to this, though.

Iceman doesn’t agree with this plan since he thinks it is an insult to Aki-chan and that it will never work. Too bad for him a machine doesn’t see the difference and it catches them with the exact same animations from before.

After Iceman yells about them being the ENEMIES of Aki-chan, the machine takes them to an undergroud path where it dumps them in a warehouse, they slide down a shoot and Netto SOMEHOW manages to tie a wire as he falls.

The timing was so perfect I had to include that last shot! XD

They walk around and quickly find the missing girls with Meiru, Yaito and Mariko-sensei giving them a concert. Because they just had too much fate in them to even worry about being kidnapped.

Why the heck are the manager and his assistant there too?! Probably to make Iceman appear in Netto’s PET after saying that Aki-chan has gone missing. Looks like a lot happend while they were dressing up as Aki.

Was Netto’s plan for everyone to climb up that tiny wire? I know he is not a genious, but seriously!

After this fail, the cooling system of the warehouse starts to activate, luckily, Saloma and Miyuki suddenly appear to get them out.

“I think a better question here is, why are YOU dressed like that?”

Outside, Netto talks to the manager since they all find Aki-chan’s situation and the kidnapping very suspitious, so they agree to let Netto plug-in Rockman into the system to find the server where Aki-chan is stored in case of emergencies, because Aki isnt actually missing, they just lost contact with her.

Rockman types in the cheesy password, “A-R-A-I-N-B-O-W”, and various signs pop up to guide Rockman.

But Rockman is suddenly stopped by a Spooky virus. For some reason the anti-virus program isn’t working so Dekao and Tohru decide to plug-in their Navis to go help Rockman. Gutsman and Iceman coming to help distracts the virus, giving Rockman the chance to cover... whatever things it has for ears.

This confirms Rockman’s theory about Aki’s song being whats causing all the trouble.

I’m not sure how that would work if Aki wasn’t the one infected by a virus, but this turns out to be the case after Rockman, Iceman and Gutsman find a portal that transports them to the server where Aki is, only to find that her appearence have changed to an evil looking queen.

Much for Iceman’s dismay, Aki reveals that she was the one who kidnapped the girls because she is the REAL Aki-chan.

 The dark Aki sends a couple of Shadow viruses to attack them, the viruses have the ability to transform into various weapons, including a cannon, and soon they over power Gutsman and Iceman.

To make matters worse, the Shadow viruses use Aki-chan as a hostage. 

Rockman is unable to fight back until Netto realizes something suspitious about one of Aki’s buttons. After seeing Aki-chan shed a tear, Rockman gets motivated and Netto sends him a Sword to cut off the button revealing that a LV.3 Shadow virus was the one controlling her.

Netto activates the Style Change as the three viruses merge together to create a giant cannon. Rockman and the cannon’s attack collide, but Rockman’s power literally cuts through deleting the viruses.

In the next scene we get a sad looking Aki-chan worried that she can no longer be an idol after what she did, but thanks to Meiru-chan and everyone else cheering her up, she finally thanks them and vows to do her best.

What are you talking about, Rockman? What song?

 And the episode ends with everyone dressed as Aki-chan singing to their hearts content at the contest.

Tohru, you know you don’t have to dress like that, right? Also, those creepy men in the background. o-o

So what do I think of this one?

Despite my initial thoughts, Aki-chan is not a parody of Hatsune Miku. In fact, the vocaloid Hatsune Miku debuted in 2007 while this episode aired in 2002, maybe it was ahead of its time, maybe Aki-chan inspired Miku’s creation, or maybe it was an idea that wasn’t still very popular in and outside of Japan. Who knows?

This episode introduces Aki-chan who will appear in future episodes of this season, though her songs are changed for the dub to something less corny since they already changed most of the musical score of the show to a futuristic high tech beat.

This episode was probably skipped because of Madoi’s bikini scene and seeing Netto, Dekao and Tohru cross dressing. I can’t say that its also because of the girls dressed as Aki-chan because we see them dress like this again in another episode for a short moment.

The Shadow viruses looked tough in this episode, but if you play the game you’ll notice that their only weakness are sword chips, thats why Rockman was able to free Aki from the virus’s control and defeat all three of them in the end.

Speaking of viruses, since the second season is based on the events from BN2 the episodes will start to feature viruses from the second game, such as the Null and Octo virus in the previous episode and the shadow viruses in this one.

It was a fun episode, weird but charming, it’s not exactly important to the plot unless they aknowlege how the new viruses are smarter and stronger than the previous ones in future episodes.

Don’t Stare At The Sun

(In Loving Memory of Kim Jonghyun)

A/N: As a final tribute to Shinee’s Jonghyun, this drabble contains nothing of his depression, only remembering memorable moments of Jonghyun. Lines in this drabble are based off real things said. I’m also doing this as a way of healing before moving onto the “Acceptance Stage. Not an ounce of romance. 

2014….

“Happy Birthday Dear Jonghyun-ah! Happy birthday to you!”

The entire dance studio in SM Entertainment was roaring with applause and cheering. Idols and agents made a circle around SHINee’s Kim Jonghyung, admiring his round birthday cake, it seemed like he was tearing up.

He blew all the candles out in one go and over the candles that kept their best flame shining, Jonghyun’s wide smile shone the brightest in the entire room. The members all hug Jonghyun tightly, as well as Girls Generation,Super Junior, f(x)’s Amber Liu, and tvxq-even Shin Sekyung and Shin Dongyeop hug Jonghyun and kisses his cheeck.

“We’ve been planning to give you this kind of surprise before you go home.”

“But you already threw me a surprise dinner last week.”

Jonghyun laughs.

“Your group did from themselves to you, but this from the company to you.”

Key whips out his phone on a selfie stick. “ We are SM family Live! We’re celebrating the 24th anniversary of our Jjong. Hyung, do you wanna say something?”

Kibum gets closer to Jonghyun so they’re both in the shot. He smiles and looks directly upwards.

“Thank you to my colleagues for giving me such a surprise which I never expected. This-this is honestly such an honor and a sweet moment. Oh-we’re getting a lot of hearts already! To all our fans, thank you very much for sticking around and supporting and loving us all these years and hoping to be with us until the very end of our career.” He holds his tears in.

“I wish for health and the best for the long years to come and treat every one of you with care.”

Minho cuts off, “THIS IS SHINee FOREVER!.” Unable to control his own excitement.

“We Love You!!”

By the time their live video ended, their were millions of comments, birthday wishes, and hearts from international fans.

You were with YG at the time. You sent Jonghyun a birthday card with a tiny wrapped box beforehand with the little time spared off your training. He sent you a photo of himself holding up the gift,smiling. You automatically grin as if on command.

“He has one of the prettiest smiles.”

Just seeing the artists you look up to happy always brought up a smile on you. Another text banner comes from Jonghyun,

Happy Birthday!

Sometime later…

Tonight the boys meet up at Jinki’s house this time. The date marked one of the most important week of the entire year. There goes a knock on the door. Already knowing who it is, Jinki says “It’s open.”

Taemin, Kibum, and Minho arrive at the house along with another young man.

“Hey bro.” Kibum spreads his arms and they hug each other tightly. “How’s everything?”

“It’s been all right. They’ll be here shortly so we can go altogether.”

Kibum nods as he moves for the others, waiting to hug him. Each of them share a hug with an equal amount of seconds and then Jinki opens his arms for the young man. Jinki pulls away from the hug so he could look into the young boy’s eyes.

“How have you been?” He asks, smiling.

The young man says, “Pretty good.It’s been too long, Pop.”

The boy now had an egg-shaped head and a square jaw, though a fraction of his baby cheeks remained, with his inward heart-shaped ears, along with a shortcut and a fade on both sides and the back.

His oval-shaped deep brown eyes are still similar to Minho’s.

They all smirk in the same direction. The five of them are wearing black and white.

‘You know no one wanted to lose you’

They all walk to the couch once they set their flower bouquets on the coffee table. Today was December 18th.

“I’m so happy we’re able to make it together today. Not that we ever missed, but you know, we had our schedule cleared entirely. So we can make as much time as we want to honor Jonghyun.” Kibum says.

He put his hands on his knees.

“Yeah. We’ve been through so much with Jonghyun throughout our career.” Jinki sits in his weaved chair.

Taemin snickers, “I remember when I was on ‘We Got Married’ he saw one of the wedding pictures and recreated it with me.”.

“That one time we put one of our trophies on his back and he did push-ups while singing.”

“Even while doing exercises he always sounded so good with his vocals.”

“I loved it when EXID started playing and he danced so excitedly out of nowhere and we just stopped to stare at him. Leaving him to embarrass himself.”

They all laughed gathered around on the couch.

“There was also that time he tripped on ‘Hello Counselor’ and tried to brush it off with a wave.”

“When was that?”

“ When ‘Everybody’ first released.Ah man he was also clumsy.”

Jonghyun had been on “Hello Counselor” a few times, yet his little fall was memorable. It seemed like he did it purposely for a laugh sometimes.

“And he embarrassed himself again,” Jinki broke “When he himself ate that dumpling which he filled wasabi with!”

There was hysterical laughter all around the house.

“Oh yeah and he froze up when I glared at you guys for throwing snow on me with the shovel. He wanted to play then got scared and didn’t say anything else.”

“He always looked at the camera saying if this was the ‘reality they wanted’ too,” said Taemin.

“Remember when we threw a surprise party for him to celebrate his first solo album?”

“I joked about ‘BASE’ was plagiarizing my album ‘ACE’. Each album had a different card of him.”

“We had him do push-ups with a trophy on his back while singing on stage. He and Minho also did a competition of push-ups for some beef.”

“Oh yeah, he also slipped while dancing to Krump. He nearly hit his head on the door.”

All of them die of laughter. Taemin rubs his eye

“A fan brought this particular picture back last Thursday.”

Kibum scrolls through his Instagram then the other boys look at the screen. Minho puts his chin on his knuckles whilst smiling, “Feels like only yesterday.”

Jonghyun was sleeping with his arm up and then Minho decided to recreate Michelangelo’s ‘Creation of Adam’ painting. That photo became one of their most popular and memorable photos.

“This picture was also brought up.”

They give in on the phone screen and release faint sighs. The picture Kibum found was a dual picture of him sitting on Jonghyun’s lap hugging each other while staring into the camera, and the other of their 6th year anniversary of their debut.The room suddenly falls silent.

“His love for everybody had so much strength, he smiled so brightly he always lit up a room. Now it’s hard to look back at the pictures and tell which ones were real and which were by force.”

Who would ever smile the way you did?

“ When I first woke up, I had hoped it was a joke or a hoax.Y/N laid on the stairs crying, she wanted to scream,” Jinki said.

I stand out in the moist night, feeling it begin to sprinkle again. His tiny hands in ‘prayer’ position, like his father taught him, kneeling in front of the banquets as I stare at the visible stars; they’re aqua.

“Everybody was in denial for a long time.”

Taemin says.

Each of their eyes was beginning to well up with water. “…Some forever.”

For someone who was the only son, he said we were the closest to being his brothers.” Minho wipes his nose.

For once you decided today was the best night for a walk. Your gaze lingers on the pavement of the road, holding the bag in one hand, a banquet in the other. It was like this when he is the only thing living on my mind. And the unbelievable heart-wrenching passion he put in Mexico.

‘Just thinking of your voice, makes me cry like a baby girl.’

You make sure the roses aren’t bent, watching the child come back to you. The air was moist that night. It had stopped raining. You look up the sky one last time and smile.

‘Tonight we get to actually feel you again.’

He holds onto your hand, stomping his feet on the doormat, getting the dirt off his shoes as insert the keys.You crease the door open.

As soon as they hear the doorknob turn, they rise one by one on their feet. Patting each other’s shoulders and hugging once again. You smile at the extra pairs of shoes at the foot of the door.

“Come on Jaejoong. Take your shoes off my love.”

Jinki appears in front of you.

“Hey.” He comes close for a hug.

“We’re back.”

Noticing how his eyes are stung red, and the scrunch of your brows and the puffed cheeks, you wrap each other’s arms around tightly.Your heart aches much more since you woke up. Little Jaejoong holds onto his Dad’s leg.

Understand….how much it burns on the inside.

You walk to the living room and in there, you see the pearl faces of Taemin, Minho, and Kibum approaching you to engulf another group hug. You smile wider once you see the young boy. Your son’s hand is snatched away out of yours as he tries hugging his Uncles on the leg. He gives up and instead runs to the other young man, getting picked up by him.

“Jaejoong, Say ‘hello’ to your hyung.” Jinki assures little Jaejoong.

“Are you happy to see your Yoogeun?’’

Jaejoong shows off his toothy smile,

“Yeah!”

No matter how long it takes, many years have passed; I’ve seen every news source, I’ve read your last letter, I saw your casket being carried…

“I hated realizing how quickly I was already healing…”

‘I have lived with this denial forever and I’m

“…I was so afraid of not letting you rest.”

You feel your hand being squeezed tightly by Jinki’s. He rubs your cracked knuckles. Your knuckles had been cracked because of work, but two days after what had happened to Jonghyun, Jinki grabbed your hand which startled you. As he stares at all the cracks he looks up at you timidly, his face inches close to yours.

“You better not be punching the walls.”

“He is such a bubbly kid. I wonder who, or where he got it from. He reminds me of our hyung.” Minho says.

Jaejoong pulls Yoogeun into his playroom.

“He takes after him more than me and Y/N…despite being born years later after his passing.He still tries to hit his high notes when we put on songs for him. You know, ‘Hallelujah’ used to be his lullaby.”

I only learned to smile again for you. Because of you, Jjong.

From asking him ‘why’, serenading him, to all the great things happening currently and telling him how much he is missed.”

We want to see you again. In front of us where we can run to you and never let go. It only takes all the time needed. Please keep waiting for us, we stay here waiting for you. “I said I’d learn to live without Jonghyung. But I never said he was forgettable.” 

His lips stretch softly.

“He knows.He knows all the time that he’s still being missed.”

Tae’s lips quiver.

“Guys we gotta go, we have twenty minutes to get there. And ten to pick his family up before it starts. We can never be late.”

 Everything that continues our love, it’s your pictures, music, and memories. A shattered soul no longer controls you.

Jonghyung is truly an angel on Earth as he always seemed, playing his joly little kazoo in heaven.

Your heart breaks all over again, but you smile to Jonghyun at the sky. All the men get on the truck they arrived in while Jinki buckles up Jaejoong in his car seat next to Yoogeun.

“Appa.”

“Yeah?”

“How did my Uncle Jjong go to the sky?”

Jinki and you look at each other, as well as the other members in the rearview mirror. 

“Should we tell him the same?” You ask.

“He’s definitely old enough to know the truth.”

 That same night, Jonghyung turned the moon aqua. 

And his beautiful voice sounds all around.

He’s smiling everywhere.

man i’ve been sitting on this for a while now but it’s finally basically finished. I’ve written a short summary along with noted whether there is sexual content, general warnings about content, and length (it always annoys me when i read a good looking synopsis only to find out it’s just a one shot). Ano Musume ni Kiss to Shirayuri o: Girl who just wants to be number one challenges the girl who is naturally the best at everything. Nice development, cute art, interesting characters. Soft and sweet and engaging. (long; ONGOING)

Aoi Hana: A manga about girls in school who navigate their desires and lives as they age and the people around them change. One of my favorite authors who has other series that are definitely worth the read. Has sexual content but not gratuitous if i remember correctly?? (52 chapters; COMPLETED)

Apocalypse: Special items in a video game bring a girl and her crush closer together. No actual concrete relationship starts but definite cute and soft feelings that I liked. (three chapters; COMPLETED)

*Asagao to Kase-san: Girl meets another girl whole watering the morning glories and falls in love. suffers a little from “but we’re both girls!” in the beginning but is pretty temporary. Has sexual content. (longer; ONGOING, but definitely has a good chunk of story finished)

*Bright and Cheery Amnesia: girl loses all her memories and wakes up in the hospital to her girlfriend. Though she’s shocked, it seems that spending three years together and being in love transcends any difficulties. SUPER CUTE. Has some sexual content but not graphic. *Chatting at the Amber Teahouse: A sweet and slow paced manga about a girl who works at a tea house and is in love with the owner. One of my absolute favorites for its atmosphere and pacing. (21 chapters counting extras and prologue; COMPLETED)

*Double House: Trans woman working at a bar and a girl who’s run away from her upper class family become neighbors. I really really like the art and atmosphere of this; it’s very lovely and softly engaging. (it’s by the same artist of pieta, my ultimate favorite) (3 chapters; COMPLETED)

*Ebisu-san and Hotei-san: When a woman transfers to her department, the main character feels antagonistic towards her aloof attitude and goes out of her way to make her feel unwelcome. This all changes when she receives insight into the other woman’s life and her feelings become very different. very cute and subtle with a sweet ending. ???????? (6 chapters plus extra; COMPLETED)

*Exciting Feelings (also Fluttering Feelings): girl becomes friends with a popular girl and they slowly develop feelings for eachother. (as of now i’m the translations they have not yet gotten together but the slow burn is realllll goood) (longer; ONGOING)

Girl Friends: A classmate approaches a girl who is generally alone in the class and invites her to join her friend group. They end up developing feelings for eachother. Pretty good, not my favorite but definitely worth the read when u can. (COMPLETED)

Hide in the Flowers - girls at a magic academy; cute but not story heavy (shorter; ONGOING)

Houro Musuko: About a trans girl who grows up and is both affected by and affects those around her. A little sensationalized imo but has such a great host of characters and that good soft art. Less romance more coming of age but is lesbian or at least girl loves a girl in the long term so .. Read It. Has sexual content but it’s conducive to character development so doesn’t count. (123 chapters; COMPLETED)

Irrational Us: About a lesbian office worker with a sort of off putting, twisted personality (as much as i hate to use that word lol). Super interesting main character. (10 chapters; ONGOING)

Kanojo to Camera no Kanojo no Kisetsu: Not completely sure why i like this one so much; the current translations don’t even have the main girls getting together, but i think it has an atmosphere that i really enjoy. It’s about a girl who feels bored and out of place with her usual friends until she speaks to a girl with a camera who she’s always admired and they become close friends. No sexual content (shorter; ONGOING)

Kuchibiru ni Suketa Orange: Beautiful and stylish girl transfers from tokyo and joins the plain friend group of another girl, who harbors a secret crush and longing for the girl from tokyo. Has sexual content and some sort of iffy motifs (like the main character imitating the girl she has a crush on that was kinda… off putting) (6 chapters; COMPLETED)

Kuchibiru Tameiki Sakurairo: A series of cute one shots. By morinaga milk, who a lot of people LOVE, but doesn’t really make my favorite type of content. No sexual content (9 chapters; COMPLETED)

Magan he Danai: Cute series of loosely connected oneshots about a couple in which one woman is mischievous and often messes with her wife, who tolerates it sometimes and retaliates other times. Cute and fun dynamic and nice art. No sexual content. (11 chapters; COMPLETED)

**Manga no Tsukurikata: A manga artist decides to date a girl she knows from work who has confessed to her in order to write yuri manga. Turns out the younger girl is also a manga artist, and one that she idolizes. Very sweet and slice of life & a relationship that develops slowly but sweetly into something very sincere. This has been one of my favorite series for a long time. (longer; COMPLETED)

Mars no Kiss: rebellious girl who has an older boyfriend and thinks of herself as emotionally and sexually more mature than those around her is seated near honors student and falls in love. does NOT end with mutual feelings, unfortunately, but DOES end on a happy note. has sexual content. (4 chapters; COMPLETED)

More Than Friends?: two girls work out their feelings for each other and experience lots of things together. Very very cute stuff!! currently (as of july 2017) on hiatus. (mid-length?; ONGOING)

* A Lapis Lazuli Blue Dream (also Azure Dream): An anthology with office women romance, high school sweethearts who have moved on to college, office women who chase the same girl (honey & mustard), a girl in love with a widow who she’s known since she was young (not wild about this one lol), a continuation of 20 year old girl x 30 year old maiden, a doujinshi author who meets one of her fans at her sister’s school festival (again kinda iffy about this one) has small amounts of sexual content. * Renai Joshika: Office ladies romance!! Has prequels and sequels to stuff in a lapis lazuli blue dream. Has sexual content. (9 chapters plus extras; ONGOING?)

Especially love bc their relationship is incredibly deep and emotional and only slightly romantic, with a happy ending and that at no point “but we’re both girls!” or homophobia of any sort plays a role is a great added bonus. However, when a transfer student comes, she seems to disregard this and pull the main character along with her as they break the rules together. Cute art, great ending. Kiyama Tatsuya (Hiroto) Mo says he’s joined Eisei Gakuen and his parents are the Sun Garden/Ohisama en. Hino says his name has changed, but Mo says it’s because this is a peaceful world.

Who would he look like?

Ryounosuke Kamiki, a Japanese actor and voice actor “I think they’re quite similar mood-wise, but more than anything it seems like he would recreate Kiyama’s ‘I’m in love with those eyes of your’s, Endou.’ speech faithfully!”

Hino comments the actor was in Kimi no Na Wa (played Taki). Mo says rather than being similar mood-wise, it’s because they’re both bishounen.

Sangoku-san Hino calls him ‘The Boy Who Can’t Stop Shoots’, and mention his parent-like personality.

Who would he look like? Yo Oizumi, an actor “Because their hair is similar.” Hino says he likes both Oizumi and Sangoku, and both of their personalities are very warm so they’re a perfect match. Mo mentions that Morimura from Galaxy has a similar hairstyle to Keiko Inoue, because of their fluffy hair.

Who would he look like? Naoki Matayoshi, a comedian “He has less presence than anyone! And they both have long hair and a flat voice.” Hino agrees they’re similar.

Teres-san Argentina captain Hironari Yamazaki, a comedian “Because of their cleft chin.” They talk about the match with Teres, saying how Endou etc. weren’t there and Mo says it was the first time she felt they might lose in FFI.

Kabeyama-kun Hino wonders if there’s someone who looks like him, and says he’ll want to go to the bathroom. Mo mentions he’s very tall for a middleschool kid and might look scary but he’s a very grateful person. Hino says he wins the prize for perfect attendance (hasn’t missed a match).

Who would he look like? Yuki Himura (Bananaman), comic performer “They’re identical! That’s what I thought the moment I saw him!” Hino says they certainly look alike with that haircut.

Majin the Hand Mo says no matter how many times she looks at him, she sees Gouenji’s haircut, despite him being Endou’s move

Who would he look like? Riki Takeuchi, an actor “They look similar.” Hino says they generally look similar. Mo agrees it’s the muscles.

Shishido-kun Tsuyoshi Muro, comedian “Their faces are fiercely similar, if you just stuck a nose on it would be perfect!” However, it’s also said that Megane is like this guy, as they both come up with names.

Handa Mo says Handa is very popular, Hino doesn’t understand as he’s no personality. Mo says for people who like Handa, they feel he’s got plenty of personality - everyone’s eyes are different.

Who would he look like?

A Johnny’s Idol “As he has a Johnny’s-vibe, he could look like any of them. In the Inazuma world, his appearance is ordinary.”

They made this picture. They’re all Handa. When she first saw it, Mo thought Ichinose-kun and Fideo-kun had snuck in there, but it’s all Handa. Mo says if this was a real group, she’d go see them. She says it’s cute, which Hino questions.

Endou Mamoru-kun Shuzo Matsuoka, a tennis player “They’re both hot-blooded, and I want him to say: sakka, yarou ze!” Endou: Practice is onigiri! Shuzo: Today you’re my Mt. Fuji!

Then they had a guess the quote game, where fans on NicoNico (not Youtube) guessed if it was Endou-kun or Matsuoka-san who said a particular thing. The first two were Matsuoka-san and the fan’s correctly guessed the third one was Endou. Mo apologises Matsuoka-san won’t be a guest this time, but jokes that next time if possible they’d like him too.

New Game Hino says he’s going to talk a bit about the console it’s released on. He also says the making of the game is going well. He says it will probably come to a console better quality than the 3DS.

Snack World Preview of Level Five’s Snack World

Inazuma Everyday Plus An app for iphone and android, now with added Kidou. You play as a character living with Endou, Gouenji or Kidou and live out the story from the first few episodes. Now that Kidou’s included, you can see Teikoku characters too, and there’s more power ups. You can communicate with the three characters through talking, touching and presents.

Episode 25 Episode Rewatch Special Guest: Instead of a voice actor, this time it’s the animation director from Outer Code, Yumi Kamakura-san. Hino apologises to her for sending the script late last time. They congratulate her on Sakuma from the last episode, said he looked wonderful, and she agreed the staff worked very hard. Apparently a lot of the animation staff like Inazuma and they wanted to work on Outer Code. Hino says they’re looking forward to the next episode and they rewatch episode 25, commenting a lot that it’s very nostalgic.

After that they rewatch trailers from previous games, Asuto’s voice actor has joined them.

Kidou and Haizaku - First time Kidou’s appeared in a PV, and he’s been sent to Seishou as a Strengthening Player (Translator’s notes: is there a certain way to translate this phrase?).

Haizaka and the girl - Mo’s interested but Hino can’t say anything. Someone in the comments wonders if Haizaka has a Sister Complex.

Aphrodi-san - Mo says everyone was waiting for this, that he’s cool. The uniform was decided in Inazuma Walker. The player on the right is a new character. Hino asks fans to carefully examine him afterwards, as he’s a character that has never appeared before. Hino focuses on him for a bit, so he might have a story.

Bear Killer Atsuya, and Shirou - They talk about how Atsuya is the Bear Killer now, unlike the previous series where it was Shirou.

Nosaka - “I’ll change the world with these hands.” It’s the first time Ares, the secret keyword, has been mentioned.

Nosaka ‘crying’ - This scene was released on Hino-san’s Twitter, and Mo is very interested. She wonders if it’s just water on his face or is he crying.

Nosaka, Anna and the goalkeeper - Mo wonders about the relationship triangle, and since Anna is a Raimon student why does she seem so close to Nosaka? She wonders if it’s the Kidou-pattern where they might be siblings…? They make jokes about Hino liking Sister Complexes.

Finally, they mention the woman who looked like a teacher at the end.

The keyword for the next episode is: Kami! (God)

Speculation: It’s the kami in Shindou’s name, but I think it has more to do with Gods. I wonder if it has any connection to Aphrodi, as in Kami no Aqua/ fact that Aphrodi compared himself to a God a lot…? Or will they explain Ares (which I guess is a Greek God)...?

My immunity and Rafs idol put you in a terrible position since your allies basically had to flip on you which was unlucky. The fact that when we finally did talk afterward you made it clear that your intent was to remove me from the game speaks volumes to the level of confidence that you had in the game and the direction that it was going. I am proud of you for doing so well in this game and I want you to know that just before we were able to flip the vote from Jacob for your blindside I had predicted you the winner of the game. I know that you were in a position where there was no benefit to you flipping your vote because you had the W locked down and that level of control is fantastic. Hello Jury, I'm not stupid, so I won't sit here and make my game sound better than it was, and I'm not going to take credit for things I never did. That being said, from the get-go I felt as if I was on the outs. I had the lowest placement out of all of the returnees, and I was voted out by all of the returnees from my season that I had actually met before coming here. So early on in the game, I took it upon myself to attempt to repair the relationships I messed up with last season. One of those being with Drew, who turned out to be a vital part of my pre tribe swap and early merge game. Early on I also made bonds with people that furthered me in the game early on. That being with Dani and Daisy. Me and Daisy worked together for the most part during the tribe phase. I convinced (or at least had a part in convincing) Jaiden to flip to Carson in the first vote to try and make sure she wouldn't be targeted, and in the first swapped Aeneas (or whatever that tribe name was) tribal council I managed to figure out the plan to take out Daisy and then help get enough votes to save her and eliminate Chrissa in the process. Another person I met who had a critical role in my game was Dani. She was basically my closest ally who I could rely on almost always. We managed to work out way through the returnee tribe and then immediately once merge started we worked together again. Another important ally for me in the game was Seamus. He was my secret partner and since day 1 we were always loyal to eachother. We were never on the same tribe so we always made sure the other person was informed on what was going on and who to trust/not trust. Once we reached merge we started working together outside our little pair and that's when we started to dominate things. I let Seamus take the lead role to get blood on his hands sand stayed in the background in main to avoid being grouped along with him. Together we used our dual votes and we got Dani and Jaze to help too, once we heard that Drew, Karen and Steven were planning to try and take me out. However Karen and Daisy's randomized votes and Steven being away meant that we did all of that for nothing, however it showed that we were prepared to counteract any plan to try and get us out. I also had a reward from the balloon challenge that I unfortunately never used, where I could take someone's reward away (I would have used it on Seamus' vote steal however I was at work so I did not have the chance to vote or use the reward in advance). As the numbers started to dwindle down I was in a good spot because people like Drew and Seamus were there to absorb all of the potential target available. Now I'm here. Will I win? Doubt it. But I did what I had to do to get here, and coming in with little to no relationships with the people I came with I'd consider it an achievement. Thanks for listening.  ~Aqua

Hello everyone, I just want to start off by thanking the hosts and all the players for this game, I truly enjoyed getting to know everyone who played and this game as a whole so again thank you.

Now I’d like to say I’m sorry for the lack of grammar, or if this looks like it was written by a 12 year old, because I can’t write or type to save my life and I think all of you know that by now…

Coming into this game and it being Fans vs Favorites; I knew I would need to change my normal game plan to adapt and ensure I could last in a season like this. In the past I always considered the term “outplay” (from the phrase outwit, outlast, outplay) to mean control as much of the game as you can, therefore “outplaying others.” But in this game I quickly realized that due to the level of play from others that this would not work, and instead I needed to rely on keeping alliances strong and intact. From the very beginning of the game I felt I quickly bonded with Steven, Lexi, Sarah, Bodhi and Adrian. Although our tribe was not the best at challenges to begin, I believed that the bonds i was making on that tribe would be the one’s to help me come merge.

Going into the tribe swap I felt very comfortable because I had allies with me, I had Jaze/Sarah/Dani. I knew Dani from hosting her in Tibet and had a strong relationship with her. I think I may have had a curse on me because my tribe continued to lose immunity. I never planned on voting for Sarah but when she asked to be voted for that’s one of the thing’s in game’s i do not question. She proceeded to idol out Carson which put me under fire because I had been a strong advocate of saving her on our original tribe. I knew this would be a critical moment for my game because it became a time that I would either need to adapt and do what was best for my game or stay with a alliance i felt was beginning to break. I tried to target drew believing a merge would arise but when I realized my old alliance wouldn't work for much longer I convinced Dani and Jaze to flip back and vote Sarah.

At the second swap I felt more isolated than previously, I was on a tribe with Dan/Chips/Drew/Jaze/Dani. I wasn’t sure where I stood with Dan and Chips and made the mistake of waiting until after tribal to try and talk through my problems with Dan. Voting chips out strengthened my position in the game because I knew merge was coming and that not only did the Fans have the numbers advantage but also I had allies on both tribes and I could use this to ensure I wasn’t sent home.

At merge I was reunited with Adrian/Steven/Bodhi but also had Jaze/Dani/Drew/Dan from my old tribe who I worked with well. Aqua was my pair and I knew he was also an option to work with because of our new power.

Starting at merge i felt there were 4 critical moments. First was the Adrian vote. I genuinely enjoyed working with Adrian and felt close to him on a personal level, but also recognized that he was a very polarizing figure in the game. When my core alliance set their sights on Adrian, I knew this would be a critical moment because it would stabilize my alliance, even if it meant voting out a friend/ally. Bodhi suggested splitting the vote and Steven said he felt he could bring in Daisy making the split work. I felt i could get the 3 Lenitys (Dani/Jaze/Aqua) to vote with us so I told them to vote Adrian and Lexi did too, and then Steven/Bodhi/Daisy/Myself voted Karen. When Adrian went home I knew I found a core that would work we could continue on strong while still being able to control the Lenitys/their votes.

The next critical moment was the Karen vote. Drew wanted to take out Aqua who was my partner and when I suggested Jaze instead it was clear that it was Aqua or coup needed to occur. So I turned to my smaller alliance with Dani/Aqua/Jaze and explained how Aqua was being targeted and we decided to blindside Karen. I was then approached by Dani as she told me Drew was voting me that night and so I felt resolved in my decision to vote out arguably his closest ally. I felt this was a great move I made because it forced Drew to continue to work with me, and also saved Steven and Lexi along with Dani and Daisy.

The next critical moment was when Steven was blindsided. Steven and Dani i considered my closest allies at the time because both were members of opposite alliances but since I was close with both I could play the middle. I saw it as the time to vote out one of the 3 Lenitys therefore they wouldn’t be targeted going forward but also not be able to pull in 1 more and have a majority. When Steven was voted out I lost my closest ally and knew Dani and I were no longer as close.

The final critical moment was the Drew vote out. Drew is someone I truly like talking to and getting to know, but so does everyone else it seemed. I knew that Drew didn’t have an idol and that if I didn’t vote him out then writing an opening statement would be useless because he would win this game. It was because of Drew going home that I am in the position I am in.

I truly believe I represent the motto of “Outwit, Outplay, Outlast” the best between Aqua, Jaze, and myself. My name was thrown out multiple times and I had to make moves and change strategies to stay in the game. I had to create alliances, win individual immunities, and try and head votes, rather than being told where to vote each round and blindly following. I truly enjoyed getting to know y’all and I hope we can continue talking after this game and I am looking forward to your questions!

Jurors, nice to see most of you. I honestly feel like I coasted my way here. I used an alliance of Dani, Aqua, and myself to get here, and I voted to keep safe. One thing I did was keep moderate social relations with about half of you. I should win because I'm pretty sure almost all of the cast knew each other beforehand, so I was already on the outs. I stayed comfortably in the middle the whole game, only being in the bottom for a couple weeks around Dani's elimination. Please vote me to win.

I'm on a bit of a roll but I've been looking through your acc and getting inspired and I have a kind of a weird question like I dont know if you can answer this but do you think theres a way that each of the boys act differently like in videos, on stage, and in like photoshoots that could be caused by any of their placements? Again, idk if this is strictly like a rising v sun thing or if theres more to it but any insight you have will be greatly appreciated to sate my curious mind hahah 🐸

so i think this is such an interesting question! obviously rising signs are going to contribute to this but even then i don’t think they always create a black and white, perception vs reality situation like how we may expect. i think the rising vs. sun sign situation is only really relevant to this question if the rising and sun signs are contradictory. like with hoshi, his leo rising has super kindred energies to his gemini placements. while they’re different, they both work towards the same goal/reach out in very similar ways hence why you’re not going to notice a huge difference on camera vs off camera with him. he does have this adorable habit of being super boisterous and then getting shy immediately after, but i think that’s probably more so two contradictory action/responses that are pretty common with leo placements where they’re super outgoing but also get embarrassed easily. you see this with cheol, too. his leo rising would certainly explain why he CAN’T HELP but come across as an extravert even tho he’s adamant he’s an introvert, as his leo constantly wants to put himself out there regardless of what he may think.

then you may have dino who has an aqua sun & aries rising. so I think he’s SUPER interesting because all of the members seem to agree that dino acts the most different on stage vs. in person and i’m constantly trying to figure out what exactly they mean by that. i think with the difference between his rising and sun, his sun is more intellectually driven while his rising is more physically driven. it may be unsuspecting how deeply thinking he is vs how straight-forward and quick-to-action his aries rising is. i also think he likes to give the impression he doesn’t care too deeply what other people think, where as his aries does really appreciate praise. lol, i also think both his sun/rising are super contradictory to his water placements in both venus and mars. especially his pisces venus where he likes to come across strong, passionate, and in-control while his pisces venus is actually super emotional/impressionable. with that, too, his aqua placements may not like how easily provoked his aries is, and how sensitive his water placements are. so while he likes to come across level-headed and objective, that may not be something he’s actually good at. so those are a few ideas for perception vs. reality with dino.

then you have members who have their suns in one sign/element, and almost all of their other placements in an entirely different sign/element. this would be mainly mingyu and wonwoo. with them you may notice a difference in where their baseline comfort levels are. mingyu is this sociable and energetic aries, but his pisces/earth influences means that he’s 1) adaptable and 2) very stubbornly/enduringly himself underneath whatever he decides he wants to be in that moment. with wonwoo, his sun is in cancer so he’s certainly a very mellow, empathetic person but then you have his leo/gemini placements and he’s much more sociable/excitable/fiery than he lets on. they’re both very adaptable because of this, but you’ll notice mingyu is naturally very open/extraverted where as wonwoo more so owns the calm, analytical image. so with them, they may more comfortably project one image but are generally very good at playing multiple roles.

then you have signs that, in and of themselves, are pretty private. so i think any member with a scorpio placement is going to more or else have parts of themselves they do not outwardly broadcast. as candid and honest scorpio placements are, they also value privacy and secrecy. so this would apply to jihoon, minghao, vernon, jeonghan, and dino. especially vernon, jeonghan, and dino as their scorpio placements are in planets that are pretty inwardly expressed. not only are they hard to predict, but they’re going to have their things they either don’t want to talk publicly about, or don’t see the need to talk publicly about. their public persona/personal lives are very separate where as you may have some members like cheol and hoshi who don’t really see showing those sides of them as a breach of privacy.

i also think there are the placements that aren’t very good at maintaining an image, and some that are. libra, leo, cap, are signs that are naturally very charming and are great at putting their best foot forward, adapting to different environments, as well as understanding what their job as idols entails. so i imagine there is a difference in their work persona vs their comfortable & with friends persona. then you have placements like scorpio, sag, and aqua that don’t really have a lot of patience for that. they’re the truth seekers and individualists. these are the placements that i imagine don’t even consider trying to have an image/concept as that idea is tiring. if they have an image, it’s a culmination of their personalities coming through. so think like, jeonghan is a libra and his image is an angel. and although that image fits him, it’s pretty contradictory to what we’ve come to understand as his scorpio/aqua placements have come through more and more, showing us that he’s this also this smart/witty/playful guy underneath it all.

SO THAT WAS A REALLY CONVOLUTED ANSWER, but the tl;dr version is that there’s a bunch of different explanations one may find for this. i think it depends on the nature of the signs in question, the planets in association, and their relationship to each other. i don’t think any of them are going to be DRAMATICALLY different off camera, but there’s something to say about how different environments activate different parts of the chart.
