the fact that some people hear the words ‘history of man’ and start talking about shakespeare, the roman empire, etc, when my first thought is now literally ‘hear my lyrics!! taste my venom!!’

this song lives rent free in my mind, it’s so powerful

the history of man is so much more than what we’ve built but also the subtext of it all. which is what i think it means when the song says “i’ve seen it in the poems and the sands/i’ve pleaded with the powers and their plans/i’ve tried to rewrite it but i can’t/it’s the history of man”. that this heartbreak the narrator is feeling isn’t new and is in fact the same old story that’s been told for ages. she’s looked into story’s and so many narratives with love and heartbreak trying to find the thing that makes it all make sense! but it doesn’t! that’s the key. none of it makes sense because there is no answer, she loves him more than anyone ever has and he doesn’t understand. she saves him a seat but he says he wants to stand. it’s the history of man and history is bound to repeat itself no matter what happens.

which as i mentioned last night is why history of man following there it goes is so perfect becsyse it’s her saying “i’ve moved on, im doing good, i’m enjoying life again and finding the joy outside of you but won’t forget the joy in you, im loving again” but then it’s followed with the lesson she’s learned from it all. she is free and happy and healing more each day but she now knows the truth of the world and it’s plans.

How are the other mods (cats) doing?

I'm at work rn so idk how they are this second. Since getting Mod Sherlock (my dog) Pete has made a new friend. They like to go outside together (Pete gets put on a harness).

Lucky continues to hate the men - she doesn't do anything to them but she gets pissy if they try to play with her, sometimes all they do is look at her and she starts growling but that's it. She really is the queen of the house.

Mod Ryan continues to not like Mod Sherlock, but he's a lot better than he originally was (running and hiding, now he just hisses and meows at Sherlock). Besides that he's still my baby and likes to cuddle next to me when it's nap time.

And Mod Sherlock is the goodest boy with the worst separation anxiety. He has to be following someone and getting love or he is sad. We're (me and the fam) are trying to slowly get him out of that, but he really is not great when it comes to being alone so it's a process.

Oh but they all need baths. Idk if they've been given any yet (mom and my brother were supposed to today since mom works from home and brother has the rest of this week off). So hopefully when I get home I can take photos of some clean animals (and you guys can maybe see what they look like as wet rats)
