Okay so this.

An entire episode (or movie?) centered around Toodles, starring Rodger (and Astro). I assume they're looking for Astro, since Rodger is holding a flashlight to the sky, and Astro is in the background, most likely hiding.

Toodles is afraid of the dark ("I hope the next room isn't dark, for no reason of course!"), which is why she has her dog plush and looks somewhat nervous. I don't know if this is true, but I do know someone said that Rodger gave it to her - which, honestly, is sort of unrelated to this, but I thought that was sweet.

Rodger most likely knows of this fear, which is why he's holding onto her hand.
