oof that is definitely one to start with! personally, i would say ushari's death and how the outlanders were handled in Battle For The Pridelands and after. ushari's death is a common talking point in the fandom, but i also think the waving off of scar's army who literally were the main villains for a whole season should've had something more, to end with at least...

also, how the whole circle of life ideology in tlg Does Not Work and is inherently speciesist in how they handle it, but i will spare you my rambling as there's plenty of good posts and videos about it

hmmmm!! as i said here, i'm pretty open to a lot of different ideas. but i have thought of another one: i've seen a few people shipping Simba x Kovu (IN AUs WHERE KIARA DOESN'T EXIST DW) and it's like... yeah, okay, we want mlm representation and there isn't that many non-related canon tlk characters - i get that - but the age gap... no thank you. (from my understanding, if it's an AU then maybe they would be the same age, but it rubs me the wrong way naturally) it's not like a massively popular ship but i've seen it a good few times, enough for me to talk about it

hmmm! usually, i decide pretty quickly whether or not i like a ship from first glance, for example i immediately clicked with your Hodari x Njano crackship because it's so funny 😭 but i would say your ideas about Shupavu x Njano have altered my brain chemistry in a good way lol! i would also say Makuu x Ucheshi really grew on me :)

others include Makuu x Akina from The Crocodile's Journey and Kiburi x Zula from The Northern Crocodile. when i tell you i am so strict about what i personally ship, and they aren't what i'd normally be interested in at all, but they started growing on me and i was just aAAA. they're not my main ships at all, as in i only think about them in the fics that they're in, but i do think about them

🤍~ Tiifu and Vitani from TLK 2 and TLG !!! I’ve been rewatching TLG and remembering how good it is, and the episode about Tiifu dealing with her anxiety really got to me. I’ve wanted to draw this ship for a while, I love them both sm !!! Two of my fave characters and such a cute sun x moon kinda dynamic!!!

Writing TLG has been a really weird experience. Not necessarily unpleasant, but just really weird. And I wanna talk about it.

I feel like Homestuck is a really difficult concept to tackle off the bat when it comes to writing fanfics due to the sheer complexity of its’ lore. TLG is my very first true fanfic, and it started as just a retelling of Homestuck with just two added characters. Then trying to juggle all the plot points and time stuff and elements of SGrub stopped being interesting and just became tedious, and I decided to just let Homestuck tell it’s story in the background while TLG happened in the forefront, with it’s own set of equally convoluted rules and lore.

Every character in Homestuck is very different than the rest of my faves due to the sheer level of bastard energy they give off. How they speak and how they think is very hard for me to pin down since the tone and rhythm is a complete 180 from what I usually write, and if I’m going to complete change the lore, then I might as well keep them consistent with their canon versions, right? Even Lyerre is hard for me since I’m struggle to convey the way he talks and behaves. It really do be hard to make the words go. I don’t want to demonize or downplay any of them to make Lilith look good cuz Lilith’s also a Bastard™ in every sense of the word, but I also want to convey that the game Lilith’s playing is different from theirs, and they’re completely out of their depth. Also these are thirteen-year olds trapped on a rock with a scary demon dog chasing after them. Tensions will flare. Things will be said. Bad decisions will be made.

Then there’s the Solith elephant in the room that I’ve been wanting to talk about for a very long time.

Solith is very dear to me. I like it a lot. This ship carried me on it’s back through 2020. But I also want to clarify some things before I post any more content of them.

Lilith does not exist to “fix” Sollux, or anyone else for that matter. She will happily point him in the right direction, but she doesn’t baby or coddle him and she can’t and won’t force him to become someone he doesn’t want to be. That is the backbone of what appeals to me about this ship. The two are friends first, lovers second and they respect each other as people. Every time I think of them, I think of this:

I’m not going to explicitly say how these two impact each other’s lives, but it slaps.

Secondly, this isn’t the end-all for either of them. The two will continue to grow as individuals, because love isn’t the end goal to Lilith’s story. But I will say, and I quote this from this epic She-ra analysis I watched, “We’re not monsters for wanting to be cared for, and I don’t think it’s naive to believe that love can help us heal. And this absolutely includes love towards ourselves.”

Thirdly, I have to acknowledge that things will happen during the fic. Both parties royally screw up and lash out at each other (thanks Apofis!) and spend most of the fic both fearing and wanting something more. There is melodrama out the ass.

TLG has been an interesting project, and I do hope that, if I ever gain the confidence to post it, that you guys enjoy it.

I want to say thank you for that post about your fave scenes in TLG, it reminds me WHY I ship RavenTrust in the first place and love their dynamic. When I see people say Medivh never cared about Khadgar or that he was mean or abusive I'm all: "???????" No???? I'm not sure where they're getting that unless maybe it's from the movie???? Thank you so much!!! I'm glad you enjoy my blog!! :) and right??? I've seen that too and it couldn't be further from the truth. Medivh adores his apprentice (no matter which way you interpret his love (romantic, platonic, etc) and that's canon.

I'd say it probably comes from the film because Movie Med and Khadgar don't have the same relationship (I'm just a little bitter about this... x) ) and Med is a lot more dismissive/aloof towards him in the film.

Medivh is rarely if ever outright mean to Khadgar in game/book verse. (if we're talking actual Medivh. Sargeras is a different story)

the few times he lashed out or scolds him he usually jumps to soften the blow or reassure Khadgar. And otherwise it's just Medivh being Medivh. X) (I also think people forget khadgar is quite sassy himself when he wants to be)
