Im STILL smart in canon, I canotically picked up rudamentary speech from just listening to Varka talk during the years he visited. I learned to fight without even understanding most of what Varka was telling me. I SPEAK WOLF. FLUENTLY. I picked up vision techniques from Lisa in barely a year of her training me! I may not know a lot in canon, but Im learning VERY quickly and I WISH PEOPLE WOULD SEE THAT.

I honestly am sad thibking about how many found family relationships there are in genshin and most of the fandom doesn't even care. Amber alone kind of raised Collei and is basically Eula's sister.

Funnily enough, I gotta disagree. I don't think there ARE that many, and it annoys me when people put friendships (unconventional or otherwise) into familial boxes. Found family is obviously different than a traditional family, but I don't think there's many of them in Genshin. If anything, I think quite a few that are semi-popular are fan inventions.

Also disagree re; your examples.

Collei had a family that raised her - she was basically kidnapped. The Genshin webtoon is set ~roughly a year prior to canon, and that's when Amber met Collei. The webtoon doesn't cover a pretty long period of time and it ends on her leaving for Sumeru, and while it's pretty dubious how long it takes the Traveler to get to Sumeru I doubt the the timescale matches the IRL patch releases.

Either way, Amber in no way raised Collei. They were friends and penpals. Collei, Tighnari and Cyno are found family and call themselves as such, but even then that doesn't super line up with the voice lines they have about each other or them barely meeting for the longest time so it's like. A really lazy attempt. (Miss me with parental Tighnari and/or Cyno HCs too.)

Amber as 'basically Eula's sister' is also a wild claim to me. I didn't even remotely understand where that came from until I checked Eula's voice lines. I understand that Eula feels embarrassed about the fact that she thought people looked at them like 'an older sister that needs the younger sister to take care of her', but I never considered them as anything other than friends from their actual in-game appearances together. I at least get where you got that, but I don't consider it super substantial.

Friendship is a wild and complex thing. There's no 'one size fits all' for interpersonal relationships and they can be super different depending on a variety of factors. I think that's cool and should be appreciated more. Weirdly, some fandoms seem to undervalue it. Not enough shonen anime, clearly.

That said, Genshin relationships are pretty vague and underbaked, so whatever. And people are pretty invested in certain 'found family' relationships, or at least ones interpreted that way. e.g. House of Hearth playable quartet are pretty popular rn but there have been others, including weirder ones that are pure HC. I've seen a non-zero amount of Nahida and Scaramouche as mother and son, or siblings.
