Monkey King 2009 Episode 7
Huh. Is it just me or did they do something different with the animation this episode? More detailed faces? Additional expressions, maybe? The transitions aren't as smooth, but there seems to be...more there, somehow.
Anyway, in making up for the last two episodes I guess, this one is just fun. Ginseng Fruit is an absolute character. I'm not sure I like them, exactly, but then, neither is Stone Monkey, so there we go lol.
The monkeys being perfectly okay with random little guys clambering over them is one of my favorite things. They're immune to this sort of thing. Or like...mostly. We had a bit of a sample size this episode.
Marshal Ma: Immediately starts stress-scratching but makes zero effort to actually remove this weird little creature from his person. Marshal Liu has to rescue him.
Marshal Liu: Perfectly at ease with this weird little not-monkey hanging off of him. Cool as a cucumber. An absolute pro. A Dad, even.
Stone Monkey: GET IT OFF
(Stone Monkey succumbed to the inevitable and let Ginseng Fruit clamber over him and go on rides as they please eventually, but also they WILL get slung into the stratosphere if they can't hang on and Stone Monkey doesn't see how that is any of their concern. Train that grip or die, little buddy.)
They were trying to endear the four generals to us in the beginning of the episode too, I just know it, but I am holding strong. They need to properly apologize at this point before they get ANY slack. That said, them actually trying to do their jobs (to varying degrees of success) and actively looking out for their exhausted troop, was pretty all right. Sure, the fact that they can't manage to figure out how to man sustainable defenses without running their forces into the ground before any battle or siege even has a chance to start isn't good, but we already know they aren't great at their jobs and that's probably meant to be the point. Maybe a nod to how frequently Flower Fruit Mountain got into deep shit without Monkey King in the actual book.
And, okay, if the Demon King had actually been testing their defenses during this time, I'd cut them some slack, but we know he wasn't. He was busy fumigating his house and losing to fruit babies. He has a life outside of you!
Also, General Ba not even pretending to be doing anything besides shit-stirring was kind of funny.
Them not immediately letting on that they know exactly who Stone Monkey is was...probably cool of them, though? Not throwing the kid under the bus of this total stranger. Or they were just messing with Ginseng Fruit because they could. They're monkeys, Ginseng Fruit is Dramatic; maybe it was just too tempting to resist the mischief. Or they just wanted to pretend Stone Monkey didn't exist for awhile! The possibilities are endless.
Stone Monkey gets woken up from a nap and immediately chooses violence against random infants. (He is going to regret that.)
Hilarious how, so long as they were arguing and Ginseng Fruit was insulting him, Stone Monkey was perfectly happy to hang around, but as SOON as they start loudly praising him to the heavens, he panics and runs for the hills. Relatable. Little does he know, no one will ever reach Ginseng Fruit escape velocity. You are friends now, Stone Monkey. The choice was never yours. Face loss with dignity. (He does not. I haven't really felt the need to share screenshots in awhile, but this whole episode has me wanting to, because Stone Monkey's faces while Ginseng Fruit ran him down were great. Boy was struggling.)
But also, wow, he really does like his friends a little mean, doesn't he? Stone Monkey has a type, and Ginseng Fruit is not it. Good thing Ginseng Fruit has decided this isn't their problem.
Speaking of, I was gonna make a comment about Six Ears being inexplicably missing again for an entire half an episode, but turns out Stone Monkey was going to visit Jade Rabbit this whole time, so, you know. I guess that's their go-to excuse now for when they need a reason Six Ears and Stone Monkey aren't attached at the hip? Last time they just had to do it and hope no one noticed. (We noticed.)
Also I'm sure Six Ears being left totally alone while the Demon King and Company were screaming about flattening Flower Fruit Mountain in the beginning of the episode isn't going to lead to any unfortunate circumstances.
AWWW. Jade Rabbit protected Stone Monkey! She's got him tucked behind her when she goes after Ginseng Fruit, and even more notably, Stone Monkey stays there. I'm pretty sure Ginseng Fruit traumatized him. The Demon King wishes he had what Ginseng Fruit has. Literally. (Also also...so Stone Monkey SEES the crater left from where she went after Ginseng Fruit and even makes a 'wow I almost witnessed a murder. wow I might STILL witness a murder' face while Ginseng Fruit is held at wand-point but...says nothing to vouch for this kid. Leaves them to fend for themself entirely. Cold, Stone Monkey.) (He will also come to regret that.)
Jade Rabbit's really a, uh, 'kill them all, let Someone sort it out, maybe' kind of a girl, huh? Shoot first, ask questions never. She is out for BLOOD. That rock VAPORIZED. That's a nice little warm-up for what she wants to do to another, somewhat monkier shaped rock. She really went from ':)' to 'MURDER' in .2 seconds flat, and that is not an exaggeration.
And, look, she's going for Stone Monkey's entire, literal life almost immediately after this, but backing up I have to say that Stone Monkey's embarrassed/apologetic smile and Jade Rabbit's answering embarrassed smile while Ginseng Fruit did their thing was so cute. They're cute.
And then Jade Rabbit's slow death glare over her shoulder.
[insert boss music]
Run.
(Stone Monkey's blank Default Smile Face when he dodges Jade Rabbit's first murder attempt is also extremely funny. He is having a day today.) (This episode is so funny.)
And don't let me forget to mention!
Appreciation for the fact that, even while running for his life and still actively being pursued by divine vengeance, Stone Monkey is 100% ready to switch gears over to Gotta Rescue Six Ears mode on a dime.
But also: What are the chances?
Just glances casually to the left while sprinting away from a Murder Rabbit shooting death beams and, oh, hey, there's Six Ears getting MOBBED just down that hill! What a coincidence!
Like, not only do we find Six Ears surrounded by enemy soldiers like they're iron shavings and he's the magnet in a kid's science demonstration, but they somehow managed to find him in the MIDDLE of a RANDOM PART OF THE MOUNTAIN, presumably NOWHERE NEAR the main body of the troop considering how close they are to the Forbidden Forest, with Six Ears probably not having been doing anything but minding his own business and taking a nap away from the noise or whatever else it is he does when off by himself, like, not only this, but also Stone Monkey manages to run right into them.
Quick, what do you think is more powerful? Six Ears's 'Designated Damsel' danger magnet aura or Stone Monkey's inexplicable ability to cut a straight line toward him at any given moment of duress?
Jokes aside, Six Ears was holding his own pretty well, though! Stone Monkey's coming in like an irate comet in a few seconds, so he'll definitely be fine unless the Demon King manages to grab him as a shield and run first, but Six Ears managed to hold out against most of them by himself! Pretty sure he killed a dude, too? Ehhh I'm sure it's fine. He's doing a good job! He shouldn't beat himself up too much for needing help! (He's definitely going to beat himself up too much.)
...Oh, hey! It occurs to me that Jade Rabbit and Six Ears are almost in sight of each other.
!!!
Let them be friends.
Or the pettiest of mortal enemies. I feel like that could work too, but also that those are probably the only two options.
#mhw09 personal#monkey king 2009#I don't have a whole lot to say with any depth lol#this was a fun episode#ginseng fruit is actually a pretty good storyteller!#they were born for that stage life#Let Them Act#They're just a theater kid trapped in the body of a fruit in magical ancient china#also I say mortal enemies!jade rabbit and six ears might be incredibly petty but make no mistake#they WILL pull a shank on the other with no hesitation#and as either friends or foes stone monkey will never know peace again#also don't think I didn't notice Ginseng Fruit noticing that he could cry his way into Stone Monkey agreeing with him#'Ginseng Fruit Will Remember That'#jade rabbit breaking down sobbing halfway through trying to kill stone monkey and stone monkey reacting with immediate concern: aw#the fact that stone monkey's second of only two friends trying to kill him takes a bit to break through#before he finally realizes she's not going to stop and he has to run#I'm holding out on deciding whether this is sad or not to see how it resolves next episode#but this could also be pretty sad#right now it's funny though#(...*squints at Old White Deer*)#(HmmmmmmmmmMMMM)#(I think I know what you are)

Asylum
Chapter Three: Tangled Webs
PAIRING(s): Psychiatrist!Agatha Harkness x Patient!Reader x Inmate!Rio Vidal
SUMMARY: Wrongfully imprisoned, Reader becomes the obsession of Agatha, a cunning psychiatrist, and Rio, a fiery inmate. Together, theyâll ensure sheâs theirsâforever.
WARNING(s): Obsession, Manipulation, Violence, Confinement, Madness, Dubcon, and Betrayal.
A/N: Getting impatient so I've written the chapters a little bit longer this time, lol. đđ
The asylum corridors stretched endlessly, the hum of fluorescent lights casting an eerie glow against the pale walls. You walked with purposeâor as much as you could muster with the guards escorting you back from another monotonous group therapy session. The others had shuffled out, their faces blank or twitching with nervous energy, but you had lingered, reluctant to return to the silence of your cell.
Still, something about this day felt heavier, as though the walls themselves were closing in.
You let your eyes wander to the narrow windows set high in the walls. They offered no view of the outside world, just streaks of faint sunlight blotted by grime. You hadnât breathed fresh air since the courtyard incident two days agoâthe day both Agatha and Rio had laid their first unmistakable claims on you.
Since then, things had only gotten worse.
Agatha was growing more possessive, though she cloaked it under the guise of "help." Her nightly visits were no longer requestsâthey were commands.
"How are you feeling today?" she would begin, pulling her chair closer to the foot of your bed, her body radiating professional detachment. But her eyes betrayed her, glinting with something far darker.
The questions always began the same. Innocuous. Gentle. But as her visits stretched longer, her inquiries became probing, almost intimate.
"Tell me about your dreams," she asked one night, her voice a low hum that wrapped around you like a coil.
"Why does it matter?" you countered, trying to erect barriers against her quiet, predatory intensity.
"Dreams are where the mind reveals itself, darling," she replied, the endearment slipping from her lips with a slow, deliberate precision.
She leaned closer, her face framed by the cold fluorescent glow. Her eyes, sharp and bottomless, felt as though they could see everything you wanted to keep hidden.
âIs someone here making you... uncomfortable?â Agatha pressed, her tone soft but edged with deadly purpose. âRio, perhaps?â
Your stomach twisted. Agatha had developed a habit of bringing up Rio unprompted, usually just before slipping in warnings: Sheâs dangerous. You mustnât trust her. Tell me if she bothers you.
And then there were Rioâs games.
Unlike Agathaâs cold calculation, Rioâs attention burned. Her obsession wasnât hidden behind masks of professionalismâit was raw, wild, and impossible to ignore.
She found you in the common areas, corners of hallways, even the cafeteria line. Wherever you tried to blend into the background, she pulled you out, commanding your attention like it belonged solely to her.
âEat with me,â she demanded one afternoon, her tray thudding down beside yours without hesitation.
You opened your mouth to argue, but Rio was already pulling your chair closer to hers with one long arm, the metal scraping loudly. The eyes of the other patients turned briefly toward you both before averting just as quicklyâno one dared cross Rio Vidal.
âLook at you, sitting all stiff like someoneâs about to shank you,â she said, biting into an apple, her teeth slicing through the flesh with a sharp crack. âRelax. I donât bite.â
The sharpness in her grin told you that was a lie.
You focused on your food, ignoring the prickling heat of her gaze as it roamed over you.
âBet it drives Agatha crazy,â Rio mused suddenly, her voice dropping low. She shifted closer, her breath brushing the side of your face. âThe way I keep talking to you. She watches, you know. She always watches.â
âIâwhat?â you stammered, glancing toward her.
Rio chuckled, leaning back and tossing her apple core carelessly onto her tray. âSweetheart, donât play dumb. Sheâs obsessed with you.â Her eyes glinted with amusement, but her smile quickly turned predatory. âNot that I blame her. You're special. Different from all the broken toys here.â
Your throat tightened as you tried to process her words. Rio was lyingâor was she?
âShe wants to own you,â Rio continued, her voice dropping lower, dangerously intimate. âJust like I do.â
Her words were like a slap, and your hand trembled as you set down your fork.
âI donât belong here,â you whispered, your voice cracking.
Rioâs expression shifted for a split second, something unreadable flickering behind her confidence. Then, she reached across the table, brushing a stray strand of hair from your face.
âThatâs where youâre wrong, mi amor.â Her grin turned wicked. âYouâre exactly where you need to be.â
When Agatha appeared in your doorway that night, you werenât surprised. The light in the hallway framed her figure, tall and commanding as ever, though there was something different in her expressionâa tightness in her jaw, an edge to her gaze.
"May I come in?" she asked, though you knew it wasnât a question.
You nodded reluctantly, retreating to the far corner of the room as she stepped inside.
Agatha closed the door with deliberate care before turning her full attention to you. She didnât sit this time, instead choosing to hover close, her presence suffocating in the small space.
"Rio speaks to you often," she said abruptly, skipping all pretense.
You froze, panic fluttering in your chest. How much did she know?
"She's dangerous," Agatha continued, her tone as cold as the steel walls surrounding you. "Impulsive. Unstable. You must be careful."
âSheâs...â You paused, uncertain whether to defend Rio or stay silent. âShe hasnât hurt me.â
Agatha tilted her head, her dark hair catching the faint glow of the overhead light. For a moment, you saw something flicker in her expressionâa mix of disappointment and... jealousy?
âNot yet,â she said finally. Her voice softened as she took a step closer. âBut she will, darling. Thatâs what she does. She destroys everything she touches.â
Her hand reached out, brushing against your arm. You tried not to flinch, but your discomfort must have shown because Agathaâs lips curved into a smile, one that was meant to soothe but only made your skin crawl.
âYouâre fragile,â she said softly, almost to herself. âYou need someone to protect you.â
She didnât need to finish the thought for you to know who she meant.
Hours later, when sleep evaded you, the sounds of the asylum echoed eerily in the darkness: the distant murmur of a night guardâs radio, the soft cries of another patient two rooms down, the clanging of a metal tray.
And beneath it all, a faint whisperâone growing louder.
When your door creaked open, panic shot through your veins. Your breath caught in your throat as Rioâs familiar silhouette slid into the room, her movements fluid and silent as a catâs.
âYou shouldnât be here,â you hissed, heart hammering against your ribs.
Rio smirked, leaning back against the wall as she crossed her arms. âRelax, sweetheart. Just thought you might want some company.â
She stepped closer, the dim light from the hallway casting shadows across her face. âSheâs got her hooks in you, doesnât she?â Rio asked, her voice soft yet charged. âAgatha. Sheâll convince you that sheâs the hero in this little story, but let me tell you something.â
Her hand tilted your chin up, forcing you to meet her burning gaze.
âHeroes donât exist in here,â Rio whispered. âOnly survivors.â
Her lips curved into a smile that didnât reach her eyes before she turned and slipped back into the shadows.
But her parting words stayed with you, an ominous echo of the tangled web ensnaring you.
The days in the asylum passed in a haze of monotony and growing dread, the line between reality and nightmare fraying at the edges. Every corner of the facility seemed to hum with a tension that you couldnât shake, leaving your skin perpetually prickling as though you were being watched. And in truth, you always were.
Rioâs smoldering presence and Agathaâs calculated grip formed a prison within the asylum itselfâa labyrinth with no way out.
But something new had begun to take root within you. Fear, yes, but also something more potent. A gnawing awareness of how deeply entangled you were in their obsession, like prey ensnared in a web woven by two hunters.
You werenât sure how much longer you could stay sane.
The nightmares began subtlyâflashes of Rioâs gaze boring into you, Agathaâs hand brushing yours with possessive care, rooms filled with distorted laughter or walls closing in. But they grew sharper over time.
One night, you startled awake, heart pounding, after dreaming of Agatha standing over you, her hands ghosting down your arms like you were a fragile doll she was piecing back together. Her whisper echoed in your ears even as you sat in the dark, wide awake.
âYouâll always belong to me.â
Even hours after waking, the weight of her imagined touch lingered, sending chills down your spine.
Waking hours werenât much better. The asylum was never loud, but recently, every sound seemed sharperâevery scrape of shoes on the tile, every hushed conversation. Were they talking about you? Watching you?
Rio and Agathaâs presence had grown suffocatingly frequent.
Rio slipped notes beneath your tray at breakfast, always crude but strangely charged: You looked lonely last night, or You donât want her; you want me.
Then there was Agatha. She circled your mind like a vulture, appearing during therapy sessions, during nighttime "check-ins," and sometimes in your peripheral vision when you least expected her.
"Are you feeling better today?" she asked one morning as she approached your table, her voice dripping with concern but her gaze cool, calculating.
You stammered a reply, but her next words cut through your panic like a scalpel.
"I saw Rio talking to you again," Agatha said, her tone conversational but her meaning clear.
"Sheâs not dangerous," you found yourself saying before you realized it, almost defensively.
Agatha tilted her head, and something flashed in her expressionâa flicker of annoyance, quickly replaced by calm control. She crouched beside you, her long fingers curling lightly around your wrist.
"I understand why you might think that," she murmured, her voice almost hypnotic. "But people like her... they thrive on breaking things. On breaking people."
Your pulse thudded beneath her touch, not from fear this time, but from a growing sense of suffocation.
âI donât want you speaking with her anymore,â Agatha said, her tone leaving no room for argument.
But that wasnât something you could promise. Rio wasnât someone you could simply avoid. She found you wherever you wentâpulling you into corners, whispering dangerous secrets in your ear.
One afternoon, she cornered you in the hallway leading to your cell, her smile sharp as she twirled a thread from her sleeve.
âYouâre looking... jittery,â she teased, her tone half-amused but tinged with something darker. âLet me guessâAgathaâs been filling your head with her usual crap about me?â
You glared at her but didnât answer, pushing past her, only for her hand to shoot out and snag your wrist.
âHey, chica, Iâm trying to help you,â she said, her tone dropping as she tugged you back, her eyes boring into yours. âAgathaâs got a nice little fantasy running in her head, and trust meâyou donât want to star in it.â
âWhat do you want, Rio?â you snapped, the weight of your fear and anger finally pushing words past your lips.
Her expression shifted then, her confidence faltering just slightly. âI donât want her to own you,â Rio said softly. âIâm not lying when I say youâre special. Too special to let her twist you into something youâre not.â
Her hand loosened, and she stepped back, giving you space to move. But you hesitated, the words she left hanging in the air sinking deeper into your mind.
"Think about it, mi amor. You're not crazy. But staying here? Itâll make you crazy. Trust meâI know."
The cracks in your psyche widened that night, your head spinning as you tried to unpack everything that had been said to you. Agathaâs reassurances, Rioâs cryptic warningsâboth felt like chains dragging you deeper into the asylumâs abyss.
But their words werenât the worst of it.
What terrified you most was the growing sense that they were both rightâand both wrongâat the same time.
You pressed yourself against the cold wall of your cell, desperate to reclaim the person you used to be before this nightmare. Your fingers traced the faint scratch marks etched into the walls, left by previous tenants whose desperation had taken different forms.
Would that be you someday?
When a sharp knock broke through the thick silence, you flinched violently.
Agatha entered a second later, her presence commanding as she shut the door behind her.
"You look tired," she said softly, her piercing eyes taking you in as though cataloging every crack in your facade. "Are the nightmares worse?"
You hesitated, and she took your silence as a confession.
âWeâll get through this, darling,â she murmured, sitting beside you on the narrow cot. The bed dipped under her weight, her closeness sending ripples of unease through you.
âYou and I?â Agatha continued, her voice quiet but resolute. âWeâre going to fix what they broke in you.â
You froze, realizing she didnât see you as the person you wereâbut as something she wanted to mold, something broken that she could claim.
When morning came, you expected Agathaâs grip on you to relent, but instead, you found Rio waiting by your cell door, her wild grin sharper than usual.
âMorning, beautiful,â she said, tipping an imaginary hat. âLetâs skip breakfast, yeah?â
You shook your head. âI canâtââ
But before you could protest further, she grabbed your arm and pulled you down the hallway, her pace quick and assured.
âRio, where are we going?â you hissed, panicking as you glanced around for guards.
She stopped abruptly, spinning to face you and gripping your shoulders with alarming intensity.
âOut.â
The way her eyes burned sent your head spinning.
âIâm getting you out of here.â
Her words, combined with Agathaâs controlling presence, twisted into a knot deep inside your chest. Was escape even possible? Was it what you wanted?
One thing was clear as Rio and Agatha loomed larger in your mind:
You were losing yourself.

,, First time? '' (2)
Shanks x GN! Reader
Summary... how does your first time with Shanks go?
Contains... Shanks is sickeningly horny, Shanks has a filthy tongue, penetrative sex, creampie, shanks may or may not have developed a certain kink at the end⌠he WILL NOT stop talking either
Word count... 0.8k
A/N: oneshot for shanks taken from "Indulgence" read here! Not proofread!
Shanks grunted, plowing his hips forward, driving them deeper into your body, his entire weight shifted ontop of you, his red hair had fallen across the back of your neck, and his arm was wrapping itself around your waist, his heavy, wet breath more than hastened after each lewd plap of his hips meeting your ass. He had barely had anything to drink, for once, he was just a little tipsy, was all.
"You want this so badâ Fuck yeah, you want me?"
Those words whispered in your ear, in a tone of voice that sounded as if he were trying to convince you, as if he wasn't spot on with his accusations. Another string of erotic lines spilled through his teeth, cramming their way into your brain. Oh, how dirty he was, managing something like this could only be achieved by him and him alone, his voice was just so sweet, slipping your shirt off to give you a simple massage, and that was supposed to be it! A massage? Well, technically he was massaging something... Your insides, that was. A filthy mewl escaped your lips with every breath you took, the scent of sex was almost sickening as it was being carried through the air.
Because your voice was so quiet, he could barely make out the soft words of confirmation from you, but he was entirely sure he heard them when you practically screamed them when he adjusted himself, spreading his legs a little wider, his throat bobbing as he swallowed the pooling saliva in his mouth. He pushed himself deeper into you, so deep it practically burned, but it was a pleasant one, atleast.
"Come on... A little more, babe."
Had it been an hour? You sure it has, the evidence of your previous orgasms was splattered in liquid form across the sheets, a pout dawning on his face when he realized he couldn't taste you when he was balls deep inside of you, Shanks compromised by fucking you for as long as he could until you couldn't handle it. Shanks couldn't believe himself, falling in love like this, and maybe he felt a little bad for allowing his hand to go somewhere it definitely shouldn't have, but with such a heavenly result, he was overjoyed.
He panted, hand desperately pawing at you to hold onto something, upon finding your throat a momentary panic settled in, before being washed away by the loud sob of pleasure elicited from your lips. An easy grin took over his face, the grip on your throat firm but not tight, he wouldn't be able to do that with you for just your first time.
"Shitâ Gonna cum. Want me to cum inside you? Or should I pull out?"
Although he wasn't gonna disobey you if it just so happened that you, in fact, did not want him to paint your insides white, he was silently begging you to let him, and with a few more deep thrusts he was sure he would start growling like an animal in heat. There wasn't a moment of hesitation in his movements, and he felt like he was on fire, the same adrenaline rush he got during his legendary duels which many had remembered as horrifying to see was eminent now more than ever, a new rush coursing through his veins. A breathy chuckle escaped his lips upon hearing your words of confirmation which you screamed, and now he was really fucking you.
A string of incoherent words which you think were curses somehow managed to slip out of your brain, you couldn't feel anything other than your bare skin pressed into the mattress, a white overtook your brain, sounds you weren't sure you would have ever made echoed into the room, the wet squelching of his cock sliding into your hole with a bit of your own cum smeared across your thighs was practically humiliating, but not necessarily in a bad way. Did it hurt? It stung, you think, he was impossibly deep inside of you and he was already raring for more; the way he was digging inside of you was despicable.
"Wanna be pumped full already, don't ya? Are you getting off on the fact that you got me wrapped around your finger, huh? I waited so, so long for this... Fuckâ I'm not stopping after cumming just once; I spoiled you so much already..."
Runny and sticky cum flooded inside of you, both of your thighs shaking. Shanks pushed deeper into you, savoring the feeling of your hole; He didn't care much that his wasted semen was spilling out from where you two were connected, he was just gonna fuck it back into you, anyways.
He couldn't wait until next time, he wondered if he could get even deeper next time he came inside you?

do they trust your driving? one piece + driving feat: like the whole one piece cast lol
(header by gh2ting)
you think you're a passenger princess? nah, you're a passenger survivor. these delusional ones that think you suck at driving and always make fun of you when you're behind the wheel, but the moment it's THEIR turn to drive, it's like y'all are in GTA. and you can't even call them out on it cause they actually think they're like an F1 driver and will not take ANY criticism.
ace. kid. LUFFY. buggy. roger. FRANKY.
nervous smile on their face whilst they're GRIPPING the car seat so freaking tight. listen close enough and you can hear the nervous chatter of their teeth. they don't have the heart to tell you to stop the car, but the moment you swerve a little too fast you best bet they're opening that car door and walking the rest of the way there.
chopper. CORAZON. vivi. bepo. ace.
absolutely does NOT trust you. you wouldn't even be allowed near the wheel, but if you somehow manage to convince them, they would force you to stop mid way and switch because there was no way they would let you even NEAR the highway. also type to act like a parent teaching their kid how to drive. every two seconds they go 'SLOW. SLOW DOWN. YOU'RE GONNA HIT INTO THE CAR INFRONT OF US', even when you're a good five meters behind the car. you both defs start screaming at each other and end up going 90 in a 40.
usopp. IZOU. crocodile. NAMI. sabo. iceberg. lucci.
the BEST person to drive with because they are patient and don't mind if you accidentally take a wrong turn. will give advice whilst driving like 'okay make sure you turn on your indicator'. if you get stressed out, the coax you to pull over on the side of the road and will help you calm down before encouraging you to drive again. pls they are literally the only people you can trust to get on the road with.
robin. LAW. mihawk. marco. rayleigh. jinbe.
will not hesitate to tell you that you suck ass but will help you drive. it's all good with this drive if you can take a couple of insults because you eventually do get better with driving if they're with you. you might get your feelings hurt a little though.
LAW. nami. rayleigh.
you're not driving, they are. the whole time you guys will be arguing with each other cause they have NO chill and will lean over the glove box to turn the wheel or honk the horn with absolutely no warning. absolutely the worst people to have as a passenger because 90% of the time you're gonna be late to your destination cause you got into an accident.
kid. DOFLAMINGO. shanks. crocodile. BOA. perona. LUFFY. ace.
they don't tell you that you suck at driving. even when you don't slow down for a speed bump and they end up getting a concussion. they're too preoccupied with your feelings and don't want to hurt you. so cute of them but this just means that you STAY sucking at driving. everyone gets concerned when you guys show up and they have a nasty bruise protruding on their forehead.
SANJI. bartolomeo (only if ur a strawhat lol). ace. brook. yamato.
calm ride but you're never getting there if you ask them for directions. it's kinda on you for trusting them.

How about some headcanons for Ben Beckman and Shanks with a gf whoâs shy? Sfw (or a mix lol)
Thank you for going above and beyond!
Awww thank you for those kind words! I hope you like what I've written for you đđ
CW: SFW, fem!reader in mind but nothing specific mentioned, established relationship, fluff, headcanons
With a shy s/o (Beckman, Shanks)
Beckman
Heâd find you absolutely adorable, although he wouldnât be vocal about it.
During quiet moments spent together, he snuck glances at you. His thoughts were flooded with your gentle features and the soft noises you often made when he kissed you. Being brought back to reality was done begrudgingly. The work he needed to tend to couldnât be put on hold no matter how much he preferred daydreaming of your soft lips.
There was something about you that made him want to protect you. Your shyness often drew unwanted attention when passing through new areas, so simply standing closer to you and acting as a bodyguard became the norm.
He was rather intimidating to many potential threats you were targeted by. However, he used that to his advantage without hesitation.
Truth be told, he enjoyed when you clung to him for safety; his heart beat harder against his chest and brought on a feeling of protectiveness he had seldom experienced.
Cuddling with you would be a common occurrence. Holding you closely, your soft sleepy breaths against his chest, and the gentle stirring while you dreamed: it was the best sleeping aid he would ever come across.
Shanks
He was a naturally loving and affectionate man regardless of your personality. When he pulled you closer during the crewâs many celebrations, you could feel your face growing hot.
Seeing you get a bit flustered made you that much more kissable, leaving him no choice but to pepper your now burning cheeks with soft pecks.
Bear-like hugs were his favorite way to hold you close to him. Feeling you eventually melt in his arms was one of the most comforting confirmations he could ask for.
You had a gentle nature to you, one which inspired him to keep pursuing the life he dreamed of for you and everyone else he cared about. He often found himself wanting to shield you from the many hardships the world was known for, often going above and beyond your expectations.
Sometimes heâd lie awake next to you memorizing the features on your sleeping face. The soft huffs signalled troubling dreams, having him extend his arms to cuddle you closer. Feeling you lull back into a peaceful dreamland soothed his busy mind, as well.
It went without saying that he was joined to your hip. Among the many parts of you that he adored unconditionally, your shyness was definitely towards the top. Youâd never have to worry about someone crossing your personal boundaries, because the mere presence of your Emperor arm candy was often enough to steer others clear of you.

Kid x Reader â first snow; regret
part of the cozy holidays event
đ â @gothmommie tags: sfw, angst with happy ending, GN!reader, no use of y/n
First snow used to excite you.Â
It used to bring you joy, and wonder, and peace. You used to love how magical it looked when the landscapes around you were gradually blanketed in white as the snow piled up.Â
But that was before. Now, first snow only brought guilt, and bitterness, and regret, along with the memory of the unforgiving stare of the love of your life. The coldness of his normally fiery eyes rivaled the freshly fallen snow as he abandoned you, mere minutes after his defeat at the hands of the Red Hair Pirates.Â
You had sobbed on the ground as the green grass around you turned white â a sight no longer magical â but you didnât blame him. It was entirely your fault that you kept the fact that you used to be an apprentice on the ship of your Captainâs biggest foe a secret.
When you heard about Kidâs plan to confront Red-haired Shanks, you had warned him not to go through with it. Of course, Kid being Kid, he did it anyway. When things had predictably escalated, you had gotten down on your knees in front of your old mentor and begged him to spare your crew.
The Emperor had let you all go with the cost of your Captainâs left arm.Â
The memory of that day a year ago haunted your mind as you trudged across the snowy terrain along the coast of Ringo.Â
You were in Wano because you had heard a rumor that a Poneglyph may be hidden in this country somewhere. You were under no banner now, but it didnât mean that you were giving up on finding the One Piece.Â
Well, call it chance, fate, or just mere coincidence â you couldnât explain how you ended up coming across the Victoria Punk, docked at a small cove near the border of Hakumai.Â
And there he stood. Your Captain. Your former Captain, you had to remind yourself. Your former best friend, your former⌠lover.
Before you could feign ignorance and run away, the metal of your belt buckle vibrated and you felt yourself being pulled by a magnetic force that was all too familiar. Kid set you down in front of him, on the deck of your former home.Â
The two of you could only stare at each other, neither knowing what to say after a year of not seeing each other.
âI could recognize you from miles away.â He finally said.Â
âWhat the hell are you doing here, Kid?â You asked.Â
âItâs none of your business, isnât it?â He scowled and retorted defensively, âYouâre not part of my crew anymore, I donât have to tell you shit.â
âOuch, Kid.â You could feel hot tears pricking your eyes at his sharp words, âYou didnât need to drag me up here just to tell me that.â
You turned away, intending to get off the ship as fast as you could. You were about five steps away when Kidâs gruff voice stopped you in your tracks.Â
âNo, wait!âÂ
You had never heard such desperation in his voice before.
âIâm sorry. I didnât mean that.â His voice was low when he continued, barely audible, âI didnât mean what I said â and did â a year ago either.âÂ
Your heart stopped for a beat, second-guessing if this really was the same man you knew. Kid had never once apologized for anything for as long as you had known him.
As you faced him again, you studied his beautiful scarred face. His brows were furrowed, red-stained lips pressed into a thin line. You waited patiently as he hesitated, opening and closing his mouth indecisively. His next words were like an arrow to your heart.
âKicking you off the crew was the biggest regret of my life.âÂ
He looked away, face tinged red from the cold and embarrassment, âI⌠wasnât in my right mind at that time. I was blinded by rage, and I did the stupidest thing I could possibly do.â
âI was a mess for weeks after that â you can ask Killer.â He chuckled humorlessly, âI couldnât sleep, I couldnât eat. I was angry all the time.â At your raised eyebrows, he added, âWell, I mean, even more so than usual.âÂ
âFuck. You drive me crazy, yâknow?â He ran his hand through his messy hair as he breathed out your name, the sound like music to your ears, âI just⌠couldnât stop loving you. And believe me, I tried. This whole damn year, I tried to forget you, but I just couldn't.â
You knew it couldnât have been easy for a man like Kid to admit everything he just said.Â
Your feet moved on their own accord, carrying you towards him. You threw your arms around his neck, no longer able to fight back the urge to be close to him.Â
âI've missed you, Kid.â You confessed softly into his ears.
His grip around you tightened. His metal hand was frigid even through the clothing on your back, but you didnât mind.
âIâm sorry for not telling you about my past with Shanks.â You said. It was your turn to apologize now.Â
âIt wasnât my intention to keep that from you â it just never came up. And when you decided to target him, I tried to tell you, I swear, but you just⌠wouldnât stop and listen.â You sighed exasperatedly, âYou and your one-track mind really vex me sometimes.â
In the quiet that followed, you leaned back and gazed into his amber eyes.Â
âI may have regretted not telling you about Shanks, but know that I never regretted asking him to spare your life, Kid.â You firmly said, âHis crew wouldâve annihilated us back then. I only did what I did because I love you and I didnât want to see you get hurt. And even then, you still lost an arm, soâŚâ
Your words trailed off, suddenly nervous of how he would react to your audacious remark. You knew that deep down, he knew that your words rang true â he was just too damn proud to admit it.
But instead, Kid stayed silent. He just leaned forward and touched his forehead to yours, basking in the closeness he had craved since the day he thoughtlessly made you step off his ship.
After a while, he finally answered your earlier question about what the hell he was doing here, âWeâre raiding Onigashima tomorrow to take down Kaido. There's no way in hell I'm letting Straw Hat and Trafalgar take all the glory.â
You closed your eyes and sighed. Another stupid, reckless plan. And yet, when he asked if you would fight by his side, the word naturally fell out of your mouth,
âAlways.â
Snowflakes dropped from the clouds above as you held each other in a warm embrace. Despite wandering around Ringo for days, it was your first snowfall in Wano.
You breathed in the cold air and the familiar scent of Kid that youâve missed oh-so-much.Â
The first snow that landed on your entwined bodies, blanketing the wooden deck in white, felt like forgiveness, and reconciliation, and new beginnings.

All the child fics I see have the child as a little ray of sunshine thatâs loved to pieces by everyone, but I think it would be a little funny if they found a kid that was rather awkward instead. If you have any suggestions on other awkward kid reader like scenarios or other characters go ahead and request.
Shanks, Buggy, and Smoker with an Awkward!Child Reader.
Shanks
âOh! Hey, thereâs some kids here.â Shanks crouches down and speaks to you, but you quickly shake your head. âListen, I know you arenât the best at socializing but just try it out. Just for a bit?â Heâs a bit worried, you donât get to be with other kids much being on the Red Force. Looking into his eyes you start to feel a bit guilty, eventually nodding your head. Shanks smiles brightly âGreat! Câmon, Iâll make sure youâre safe, okay?â He picks you up and goes over to the kids playing. Once youâre both close enough he sets you down, but you just stand there. He gives you a little push and you stiffly walk to the kids. They spot you and you freeze.
âHuh? Who are you?â They walk over to you and you go as still as possible. âHello?â One of the kids waves a hand in front of your face but you just stand there like a statue. Shanks looks on, worried that youâll get bullied. He shakes his head.
âNo, I should have faith in them as their father.â He thinks to himself as the kids gather around the new strange child. They just kind of stare at you. One of the kids pokes you and you flinch.
âThey move! How do you get all frozen like that, are you made of stone?â Your eyes slowly trail to your dad, nervous. He just gives you a thumbs up. Shanks gets approached by someone.
âChief? Oh itâs you!â Shoot, heâs starting to get recognized, this damn hair. He has to entertain them a bit before they finally go away. Shanks quickly looks back to you, worried. The kids have.. started stacking things on you.
âWoahhâŚâThe kids marvel at you. You have multiple blocks on your head, your stillness keeping them from falling. Thatâs⌠one way to socialize I guess. Your record is 10 blocks.
Mihawk
Mihawk holds you in his arms, he had taken you in a few months ago even before Cross Guild. To be honest, he was hesitant to bring you with him, but it was already known he had a child by this point. Itâs safer to keep you where he can be with you, itâs one of the reasons he joined. Having a stable place to stay is best for you. Another worry he had is that the clown and Crocodile would be a bad influence on you, that you would turn into some sort of delinquent. Children can be unpredictable, and easily manipulated. However, that ended up not being the case. In fact, they seemed to be a good influence. Not because they were passing on good features, no, it was simply because you disliked them enough that you marked them as âbad examplesâ, he couldnât be more relieved. Itâs unfortunate you donât make friends but this is better than becoming anything like Buggy or Crocodile. They had even attempted to appeal to you, trying to befriend you to have some sort of connection to Mihawk. Buggy so that Mihawk would be softer on him, Crocodile so that Mihawk would have incentive to be loyal. It didnât work out. Crocodile realized very fast you were terrified of him, he isnât the best with children either; and thereâs too much risk trying to get close to you when your father hates when youâre scared. Buggy howeverâŚ
âHey, kid, here.â Buggy offers you candy, you stare at it then slowly back away, clearly uncomfortable. âAh, uhhh.. What about this?â He starts to juggle, but you also look nervous, looking away. âThis damn brat, arenât kids supposed to like clowns?â He curses in his head, but keeps a smile on his face. Finally, in one last effort, he pulls off his head and starts to do tricks with his limbs. âSee? Cool isnât i-â When he looks at the spot you were in youâre gone, like a mouse that skittered away. âGod dammit, fucking kid.â Right as he says that he feels an intimidating presence behind him, hawk eyes digging into his back. He might be fucked.
Smoker
âSea prism works on devil fruit users like Captain Smoker and this person. Thatâs why you donât have to be scared, they canât do anything to you.â Tashigi explains to you, holding the sea prism cuffs. Sheâs babysitting you for a bit while Smoker is taking care of business since you canât exactly be left alone at your age. You had gotten startled by a prisoner being led to jail earlier, so she was explaining how theyâre harmless with the cuffs on; even showing them to you. âYou want to hold them?â You slowly nod and hold them in your little hands, theyâre kind of heavy. While youâre looking at them Tashigi looks to the door, Smoker is back. âAh Captain Smoker youâre ba-â
Click
âŚOops. You put them on by accident. Immediately you start to panic, trying to get them off your wrist. âAh, wait, I can just take them off for you. Stand still!â Youâre panicking too much though, waving your arm around while Smoker sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose. Before she can grab you though, you end up flinging the cuff off of your wrist. It was too big to fit you anyway, the key wasnât needed. Unfortunately, you end up flinging them directly at your dad, hitting him on the head. He flinches and falls back, the sea prism making him weak. âCaptain Smoker!â He falls to the ground and you freak out like a startled cat, running around the office while knocking things over. Tashigi, flustered, doesnât know what to do first. The cuffs slide off of his body and he moves again, grabbing you by the back of your shirt like a kitten. âIâm so sorry, sir I didnât think-â He raises a hand to stop her.
Your father looks at you, your face guilty, and sighs. âItâs fine.â The office is a mess now, itâs actually a bit impressive. At least he doesnât have to worry about people catching you. âNo more cuffs.â Heâll worry about the office later, youâre more important.

Every year
Summary: Every year, he ends up in your bed. Every year, he's gone when you wake up.
Note: A Benn Beckmann x Reader Oneshot! The Rush stories will be updated at friday.
The harbor always buzzed with excitement when the Red-Haired Pirates' ship came into view. To the rest of the village, it was a spectacleâShanks and his merry band of misfits swaggering ashore with barrels of booze, bags of treasure, and endless stories. To you, it meant something more: the quiet return of Benn Beckman.
Every year, he would step off the ship like a shadow following the brightness of Shanksâ larger-than-life presence. And every year, your chest would tighten when his eyes, sharp and stormy as ever, found yours. It always started the same way.
Drinks at the local tavern. Banter, laughter, and stolen glances across the room as the crew partied with abandon. By the end of the night, heâd corner you with that gruff smirk, murmuring, âYou ready?â
You were always ready.
That night was no differentâat least, not at first. Bennâs kisses were heady, tinged with the taste of rum and smoke, his hands mapping familiar trails across your skin. The heat between you was as unrelenting as ever, the pull magnetic. But every year ended the same too: youâd wake up alone, the sheets cold beside you, his scent the only evidence heâd been there at all.
Except this time.
The soft touch of fingers brushing against your cheek pulled you from sleep. Your eyes fluttered open, confusion mingling with warmth as Bennâs face came into focus. He was propped on one elbow, his free hand stroking your face with an unfamiliar tenderness.
âMorning,â he murmured, voice thick with sleep but warm, softer than youâd ever heard it.
âBenn?â you rasped, still caught between dreams and reality. âWhat are youâŚ?â
âStill here,â he said simply, like it wasnât the most unusual thing in the world. Like he hadnât spent every other year slipping away with the dawn.
You sat up slightly, pulling the blanket tighter around yourself. âWhy?â
He chuckled, low and rich. âYou donât make it easy to leave, you know that?â
Your heart stumbled in your chest. âIâI thought you didnât wantâŚâ
Bennâs fingers trailed from your cheek to your hand, capturing it in his. âWhat gave you that idea?â
âYouâre always gone before I wake up,â you said quietly, staring at where his fingers interlaced with yours. âI figured⌠maybe it was just⌠convenience.â
His brow furrowed, and he tugged you closer, his grip firm but not forceful. âDamn it, is that what youâve been thinking all this time?â
âI mean, what else was I supposed to think?â you said, heat creeping into your voice. âYou never said anything. You justââ
âLeft,â he finished for you, regret heavy in his tone. âI know. Iâm sorry.â
You blinked, caught off guard by his sincerity. âWhy didnât you just say something?â
âBecause Iâm an idiot,â he admitted, his thumb brushing over your knuckles. âAnd maybe I was scared youâd say no.â
âTo what?â
âComing with me.â
Your breath caught. âWhat?â
âShanks wouldâve allowed it,â Benn said, his eyes steady on yours. âHell, the whole crew would welcome you with open arms. I just⌠I wasnât sure if youâd want that. If youâd want me.â
You stared at him, your heart racing. âYouâre serious.â
âDead serious.â He leaned closer, his forehead resting against yours. âIâve been running from this for years. From you. But I canât keep doing it, not when I know what itâs like to hold you, to be with you, even for just one night a year. Itâs not enough anymore.â
Tears pricked at the corners of your eyes, a mix of relief, joy, and disbelief flooding through you. âYou really want me to come with you?â
âMore than anything,â he said, his voice barely above a whisper. âBut only if you want it too.â
You didnât hesitate. âI do.â
A rare, genuine smile spread across his face, and he pulled you into his arms, holding you like he never wanted to let go.
âGuess Iâd better tell Shanks,â he said, a trace of amusement in his voice.
âOh, Iâm sure he already knows,â you replied with a laugh, imagining the red-haired captainâs smug grin.
âProbably,â Benn admitted, his lips brushing against your temple. âDoesnât matter. Youâre coming with me, and thatâs all I care about.â
For the first time in years, you woke up in Benn Beckmanâs armsâand this time, you knew youâd never have to wake up alone again.

Shanks & his Empress of Amazon Lily.Â
Summary: Just as every former Empress of the Maiden Island had succumbed to a love sickness, you were not the exception.Â
Idea: Shanks / Empress of Amazon LilyÂ
2594 words.Â
After Shakky departed from Amazon Lily due to her love sickness, her position of power had fallen onto you. As the new Empress of the Kuja Tribe and the Captain of the Kuja Pirates, you upheld the image as the islandâs pinnacle of womanhood. You were a rose that stood apart from the rest of the garden, though every rose has its thorns as well. You were respected, admired, yet also feared across the seas all the same. Creating a reputation as a notorious Pirate Empress created instances where individuals or groups were seen as fools to challenge someone so formidable, this current event in particular being one of them.Â
The Kuja Pirates were presently docked at an island in the East Blue rich with agriculture, stocking up on a multitude of food supplies for the venture back towards Amazon Lily. Unfortunately for you, a particular red-haired captain and his crew happened to dock at a harbour on the other end of the island. This placed you in your current predicament, the stallholder felt nervous as he watched the two captains in anticipation, wondering whether he should intervene or not. You glared at the man in front of you as he did the same, both so thoroughly invested in intimidating the other for a fresh batch of lobster⌠Besides that, you knew of the captain standing in front of you to be Red-Hair Shanks. He was a pirate recently gaining more attention because of his battles against Marine Hunter, Dracule Mihawk. His trademark besides his striking red hair was the straw hat, shading the rugged look he had.Â
Meanwhile, Shanksâ while glaring at youâ had been attentively observing the details of your face. Like you have heard about him, he has heard twice as much about you. Heâs heard about your strength and accomplishments that have made you the threat you are today. Though heâs also heard about your beauty and grace, like a rose covered in thorns, prickling anyone that dares to cross you. He thought of you as a dangerous beauty, with your eyes as the most striking feature. Shanks imagined youâd make an amazing addition to his crew even if you already had one of your own, it couldnât hurt to ask, right? But it did hurt to ask, just a little. He watched as the tension in your shoulders fell as a look of shock and confusion harboured your face, before bursting out into a fit of laughter, a pleasant mix of disbelief and amusement. Shanks felt rather flushed but quickly sank the feeling down as he took in the joy that was in your laugh. He found it endearing. So once again, he askedâ not for you to join his crewâ but for you to join him in walking around the island while gathering supplies.Â
He watched as a flash of hesitancy crossed your face, but chose to wait for a verbal answer. You, after gaining quite a good laugh from the man, felt a slight pull towards him. You were intrigued by the enigma presented before you. The newspapers formed a rather serious and unapproachable impression of the red-haired captain, though it seems to be quite the opposite now. You wanted to take a walk with Shanks, but as a resident of a Maiden Island, particularly being its Empress, you werenât expected to casually frolic with that of a man. However, when you thought back to the stories you had heard from your former Empress and her experiences with the man named Rayleigh, you wanted to see if you could experience the same. Shakky had described it as elating, unforgettable, yet a fleeting experience for a Pirate Empress tied down to their duties. So, you accepted his invitation. In response, he gave you a bright smile. One that stunned you in place as you took note of how his lips curled up into something so radiant. If anything, it was like the sun allowing the roses of its garden to thrive in its light. You felt your heart begin to blaze, though buried it deep as you fell into place beside him to walk through the village. It was at this instance, that both captains had completely forgotten about their competition over some lobster, and the duties that their crews required of them to complete.Â
You found his presence to be freeing, there was no need for formalities. Shanks made that clear when he tried to amuse you with chopsticks in his nose, to which you walked away in response. You thought of the man as a fool, but a kind one. You noticed how he interacted with the children he came across, they all gleamed up at him with admiration despite his rising infamy as a pirate. You even noticed his subtle acts of service when he stopped a cart of fruits from spilling over without the villagers noticing, or when he âaccidentallyâ dropped a few coins for the man wishing to buy his child a dessert. He continued to smile ever so brightly, setting the whole island alight even as the sun began to descend. Shanks was a fool, you continued to think, but a charming one at that. You wondered if this is what Shakky experienced in her own time alongside Rayleigh, and if every single moment from today would continue to be something alike now. Surely not, life was not perfect. Though your eyes displayed such exuberance that made you want to cherish this experience and the others that may follow after this one, even if it was fleeting as you were once told.Â
Shanks almost couldnât remember the last time he felt that he could rest. Typically, heâd be more elated at gaining more acknowledgment as a pirate, though the attention from the Marines and the World Government had begun to weigh more on his crew. He could see it in their expressions, even on his own when faced with a mirror. Hence his crew was currently sailing around the East Blue to rest up, leading up to his current situation. As he stuck the chopsticks up his nostrils, he turned to you for your reaction. He took in the way you covered your mouth to stifle a laugh, your fingers creating an opening to see how your lips went up into a beautiful curve. Shanks felt pride in being able to make you smile at his foolishness, even when you walked away to hide your own amusement. You were a rose with thorns, but still possible to grasp as long as you gently pulled out its spikes. He watched as you interacted with the environment with such grace in each of your steps and inquisitiveness in the enchanting eyes you possessed. He noticed how you usually came to the villagers with questions regarding things you held curiosity for. You were fascinating yourself, but still so intrigued by the world around you that it urged him to show you more if possible. Shanks was quite aware of who you were, an Empress of the Maiden Island and notorious Captain of the Kuja Pirates. Heâd assumed you already knew a vast amount of knowledge about the seas and more, so he wanted to help with things you mightâve not known about. Shanks would beam when he explained something and the way your eyes would gleam at the discovery of new information. You were indeed a rose that flourished in the sun even as it set on the horizon.Â
As you parted ways with Shanks, you continued to stare back at the island aboard your ship, even as it became a minuscule block in your sight until it disappeared. Shakky was correct, it was a euphoric and unforgettable experience, though fleeting. Fortunately for you, this first meeting would not be the last. One year later, on an island in the Grand Line, you found yourself sitting beside the same red-haired captain. Only this time, he was without donning his straw hat and missing an arm. You took note of how his eyes held a new hope and how his personality only became increasingly charming the last youâd seen him. Though most of all, you noticed how his foolishness stayed present, despite seemingly becoming more serious in his role as Captain of the Red-Hair Pirates. The two of you chatted over a few drinks, ending with you inviting him to take a stroll around the island, to which he accepted with the same brilliant grin he decided to grace you with months ago. This became a daily occurance should you dock on the same island as Shanks, each conversation turning into a walk-and-talk around the archipelagos. Your crew, including his, noticed how every few islands their captains would disappear for hours, only to come back with their duties having been forgotten. Benn Beckman in particular, saw how every once in a while, Shanks would return with a more elated expression than usual, his mind elsewhere until Beckman would scold him for discarding his duties. Unbeknownst to his first-mate, he was only that ecstatic because of the time spent with you. He thought of you as a rose that he could hold without its thorns making him bleed.Â
Though you both continued to hold your own goals as you two sailed across the seas, there were times where one would linger in the other's thoughts more often than not. This became apparent after Gloriosa noticed how youâd stare off into the sea every time she would address you in your sleeping chambers, as if you had something else youâd rather be thinking of. Your mind drifting off continued until Gloriosa returned with news regarding a new Emperor of the Sea, the mention of Shanksâ name had your head turning in a speed that startled even Gloriosa herself. Your elder stepped in beside you as your eyes gazed upon the paper with an image of the Red-Hair Pirates claiming their glory, taking note of how your hand lingered over the captainâs face. It had been long since your last meeting with the red-haired captain, longer than usual, and it may have tore away at your thoughts at times as you had come to enjoy his company. You thought of him as a sun that you allowed yourself the privilege to bask in without burning. Gloriosa, staring at you with suspicion, began a subtle interrogation on your connection to the Emperor. You were able to answer her questions without faltering until she had asked a rather forward one, did you hold feelings for Red-Hair Shanks?Â
Without warning, Gloriosa watched as your face burst into a shade of deep red, almost the same shade as the mentioned manâs hair. Your lips parted multiple times to speak, yet your mouth ran dry at every attempt. Your gaze went everywhere but the paper that held the image of the red-haired captain, never letting your eyes linger for more than a second if it did. You felt the thumps of your heart making an attempt to burst out of your chest, your back falling against the sheets and taking deep breaths in an attempt to quell it. You felt warm, like the sun had invited itself into your room. You felt like you were burning, though unaware of the reason why. Normally, you disliked burning, though this felt more passionate and embracing, rather than the burning of an emotion like hatred. Gloriosa gaped at you with shock as she watched the same sickness sheâs seen for generations overcome the current Empress of Amazon Lily. The elder ordered the concerned guards out of the room, fanning you with a nearby folding fan as you gathered your thoughts. As soon as you were able to sit back up, Gloriosa ordered you to listen to her carefullyâ that the sickness you had caught was not a joke. Youâd thought her to be serious until she told you that you were in love, your face becoming warm yet again. You then allowed your mind once more to focus on Shanks. You thought him to be captivating. His smile, his charms, his foolishness, his warmth. These were only a few of the traits that youâve come to admit that you admired so deeply. Gloriosa watched as your mind drifted off once again and sighed, leaving you to sort out your love sickness on your own. Â
However, as soon as the elder had opened the doors to your chambers, a warrior had stumbled in with a rather frantic expression. The young womanâs gaze switched between you and Gloriosa, apologizing profusely for her interruption before reporting that there was a situation along the islandâs coast. Upon hearing the urgency in her voice, you stood firm on your feet, the symptoms of your love sickness having disappeared for the time being. Immediately, you took your cloak as you headed out into the halls of your tower, commanding the warrior to report on more details of the issue. Apparently, there had been a break-in on the island and multiple groups were currently out looking for the perpetrator. Gloriosa followed closely behind the two of you, only halting in her step when you did. The older woman behind you watched on in horror as your breaths became shallow and the thumps in your heart began once more. Though you had felt warm inside of the walls of your room, you were sweltering now, holding yourself against a windowsill for balance support. Despite the condition you were dealing with, you continued to walk forwards. Ignoring the pleas of the two to rest, you only turned back when Gloriosa said you would not be able to handle the situation accordingly in your condition, cutting her off with a single look. As it was clear that you would deal with the perpetrator, you commanded the warrior to retract their forces as you headed out into the sun.Â
You stared at the fool standing across from you with utter disbelief, before glaring at him as his head hung back from laughter. The red-headed captain was drenched from his swim across the Calm Belt, his black coat hung up to dry allowing you to admire the way his white button up presently clung to his skin. You observed every detail of the elation that he displayed, from the way his eyes crinkled expressing genuine joy to the way he held his hand to his stomach when laughing too hard. You took notice of every crease around his eyes, the veins on his hand reaching up to his arms. Even his tousled red hair that youâd be able to discern in any crowd. Everything. Though youâve always believed it, you thought him to be more radiant than ever as the sun graced his figure as he stood before you. Meanwhile Shanks, as his laughing ceased, took in your grace as the roses around you seemed to flourish more than they did when he arrived. He thought you were more beautiful than the last he had seen you, just as flowers bloom when the sun has risen. He wanted to hear your voice, to see your smile, to have the privilege to hold you even if he is pricked by thorns. Shanks would bleed for you. You made no attempt to stop him when he embraced your figure, feeling the burning sensation in your body despite the water seeping from his clothes to yours. His warmth was welcoming and passionate, he is the sun that you would allow yourself to burn in. The sun had invited himself into your garden. A/N: i suck at dialogue so i avoided it woo

â ď¸ Warnings â ď¸: Drugging, Alcohol
Drunk + Spiked Partner
Mihawk
⢠It had been a fun evening you and him going to a grand bar and drinking together. You two had been having a great time- but Mihawk had made a mistake however. Unaware of how much of a lightweight you were and (compared to normal pirates-) having been a giggly red mess after 'only' 6 strong drinks.
⢠"Y-You know I always found you super attractive~" You slur out far too drunk. He looked at you amused as you drank far too much.
⢠"I think you have had enough" He purred out, his hand keeping you closer to him in case you slipped away. However he noticed immediately how your seemed to be getting loopier
⢠"I don't thinkkk" You slurred as you tried to lift the glass to your lips once more.
⢠Mihawks hand shot out and snatched the cup from your hand much to your surprise. Watching how he closely stared at the contents of the drink.
⢠Smelling the contents before he growled at the discovery. Looking at you he stood up and dumped the drink on the floor, pulling you up to your feet. He scooped you up into his arms-
⢠"Which Bartender gave you that drink?" He ordered, watching you as you pointed to a rather panicked looking Bartender who was trying to slip into the back. His eyes narrowing in anger at this-
⢠"Let's get you to sleep-" He takes you out quickly back to your gets hotel room.
⢠Mihawk would definitely take care of you that night and if your symptoms are worse or getting worse will take you to the hospital.
⢠Will brutally murder the Bartender and any of those who dare go against his actions. Using using hid small cross blade to make it more intimate
Luffy {dark}
⢠Luffy wasn't a drinker since it makes him sleepy- So when he agreed to go with you to celebrate he was going got food and not much else.
⢠As he would be careful to escort him out, his gaze darkened at this and he glanced to across the room. His eyes meeting Zoro who had been across the room the whole time and nodded once. The green haired man nodding his head as he lifted himself from the wall and stalked towards the bathroom where the injured asshole had hid in. His hand already on the blade of his sword as he walked in-
⢠What was being celebrated however was unknown still but you were still all to happy to have him join you.
⢠Eating food together while you drank, the conversation being light and happy. Both of you oblivious to the cook who had been eyeing you the whole night or when he slipped behind the bar before the waitress brought your next round of drinks.
⢠It only took 3 drinks before the world began to spin-
⢠"W-Wow I feel funny-" You slurred and rubbed your face. Trying to rub away the odd feeling washing through your body. Luffy watching you closely and touching your forehead.
⢠"Are you okay?" He said calmly as he checked for fever.
⢠He would pull the glass from you and smell it calmly. Sticking his finger in a glass and tasting it lightly, His face cringing at the taste bit also by the chalkiness at the bottom of the glass.
⢠"We need to go (Y/N)" He said calmly as he pulled you up to your feet carefully.
⢠"Here lets get you back to the ship" He said cheerfully. Taking the time to nurse you back to health and watch over you fully.
Zoro
⢠Will absolutely cut them down in person- He is not going to hesitate in the slightest and murder the suspect right then and there in the bar. He doesn't care if it gets the attention of others-
⢠It was suppose to be a simple bar date. Drinking together and your crew out enjoying the festival, you and Zoro paired together best anyway since you kept him from getting lost.
⢠"This has been so fun!" You say cheerfully, holding Zoros hand as you two step into the busy far.
⢠"Can to buy me a drink?" A young women flirted with you. You smile politely and decline, walking away quickly as she glares at you and Zoro who take a seat.
⢠"That chick is giving me the creeps" You mumbled, noticing a women staring you down.
⢠"Probably just jealousy" He said calmly pouring you two another drink as you guys cheered and talked merrily together.
⢠Eventually you two finishing the first bottle so you offer to get up to grab another
⢠Going up to the Bartender he hands you a free shot- Saying someone bought it for you. You happily accept and down it before returning to your table with the new bottle.
⢠After a few more drinks Zoro noticed your drowsy ways, the way you slouched forward and could barely keep your eyes open.
⢠"(Y/N)?" He mumbled and reached forward to touch your face. Squinting his eyes as he knew immediately what this was and watched as the Bartender & Women from before approach.
⢠"You did this didn't you?-" Zoro hissed in anger as he watched the duo smirk.
⢠Bartender: "She looks really drunk and my friend here has noticed. Sir why don't we have the Lady take them?-" He suggested as the women's marked and nodded.
⢠"You did this.." Zoro said as he held you closer and anger bubbled in his chest.
⢠Doesnt know where the hospital is so goes the the Inn next door and takes care of you through the night.
Shanks
⢠Shanks eyes narrowed as he gently pulled you close, looking you over as he gently placed his hand on your cheek to look you in the eyes.
⢠You were always Shanks favorite waitresses. He had been coming to your bar for years and always did it just to visit you.
⢠Tonight was extra special since you weren't on shift so you decided to drink with Shanks and his crew.
⢠"I see a new Bartender tonight" Shanks commented, Seeing how he leered at you with every drink you had.
⢠You nodded taking another sip from your strong drink. "Yeah he just started- a nice guy.. if not a little too nice" You admit, however not wanting to ruin the moment you continue drinking.
⢠It didn't take long for you to start to grow loopy, confused by basic conversation and sleepy. Most would assume you simply had too much to drink- but you were no lightweight.
⢠"(Y/N).. did someone hand you a drink or look away from it?" He said calmly, You leaning into him heavily and nodded Unsure of what he was even saying. Shanks eyes narrowed as he looked around the bar angrily, his eyes landing on his suspect.
⢠Will take you immediately to the hospital and have his crew deal with the suspect who was clearly to avoid capture.
⢠Sits with you the whole night and will get updates from Ben Beckman on the status of the person who Drugged you- aka them being past tense

playlist : tender by blur
(pre-timeskip) monkey d. luffy x male reader
this was a special i wrote for my fanfic (thats not published here on tumblr) but i realized it could be a good standalone one shot so i wanted to post it hereeeee :) the relationship status is ambiguous, but its obvious luffy and reader have known each other since chidhood/foosha village and luffy really really really loves clinging to reader ! another thing, if u want this could be a soft yandere luffy as well cause hes definitelllyyy showing summ tendencies here lol
âtender is the night, lying by your side. tender is the touch of someone that you love too much. tender is my heart, iâm screwing up my life. lord, i need to find someone who can heal my mind.â
luffyâs first impression of [name] was that he was strong. he looked up to him, he wanted to be as cool as him and as capable as him. how many times [name] had saved luffyâs ass when they were children was uncountable. and all those memories live so vividly in the captainâs head.
and when he made [name] promise that heâd find him in the grand line - made him swear that heâd join his crew and not anyone elseâs, it was all so serious. the most serious luffy had ever been in the face of [name].
because to luffy, there would be no reason sailing out to sea if [name] wasnât by his side. it sounds childish, especially if luffy were to ever verbally say that, but overtime he had realized that it was another genuine sentiment. there was no way luffy could become the pirate king without [name] by his side.
"luffy, stop running over the mud, youâre gonna fall on your face!â [name] worriedly called out from the treehouse, seeing the rubber boy play in their yard. it had just recently rained and all the soil that was surrounding their treehouse was still sludgy.
of course, luffy wanted to play in the mud like the child he was. [name] wasnât going to stop him, but he could at least warn the younger one of injury.
"come play with me, [name]! letâs make mud pies!â
âno! youâre just gonna get hungry and actually eat them! gross!â
âi wonât- i am hungry though!â
[name] didnât reply, only leaning over the wooden railing of the treehouse and watching as luffy got himself all mucked up and dirty. somehow, his straw hat stayed clean the entire time. he sighed, fiddling with his own piece of shanks, the cloth on his wrist before smiling gently.
just as he was about to turn around and get some naps in, luffyâs shrill voice started screaming, â[name]! [name]! save me!!! save me!â
he whipped his head around in an instant, eyes widening when he saw that luffy was caught in a mud slide.
"i can't breathe!!"
his voice was getting farther away and [name] jumped out of the treehouse without hesitation.
âluffy! luffy!â he shouted desperately, grunting when his ankle got caught in the mud and he was being dragged into the disgusting substance as well. he jerked his body upwards, wanting to at least see where luffy couldâve possibly been.
and then he saw it â his tiny palm waving frantically around in the air. [name] grit his teeth, twisting his body every which way to break out of the sticky grasp the environment had on him.
"[name]-â the boyâs scream was cut off and the sound of coughing began to fill his ears.
âluffy!â he grabbed a vine that was on the side of a tree and ripped it off, unlocking a newfound strength in himself to save luffy. he threw it right into luffyâs palms and tugged as hard as he could.
he dug his heels into the ground, his jaw clenched as he put all of his strength in pulling luffy out. and when he finally did, the first thing he did was wrap his arms around the boyâs torso.
"can you breathe?! are you okay?!â he frantically asked, patting the boyâs back in case anything was lodged in his chest - hindering his breathing. but luffy just collapsed into his arms and began wailing.
âi thought i was going to die, [name]! thank you!!â
[name] protectively wrapped luffy up in his arms, hugging him as tight as possible as he tried to reassure himself that luffy was alright. and he steadied his breathing, allowing luffy to cry into his arms for however long he wanted.
âyou stupid idiot, donât ever play in mud again!â he scolded luffy, pushing away the black locks of hair out of luffyâs face. he grimaced when he felt how dirty his hair felt, reminding himself to bathe with luffy to ensure all the grime was washed out.
and despite luffyâs face almost being completely covered in mud, he still flashed that bright smile, âyou saved me, [name]! thank you!â
[name] blinked a couple of times before laughing, âof course iâd save you! iâll always be there! just scream like the little baby you are and iâll come running!â
luffy frowned, hands balling into [name]âs mud ridden shirt, âiâm not a baby!â
âyeah, you are,â [name] corrected, âbut itâs alright, iâll take care of you no matter what! so you get the excuse of acting like a baby! but! only for a little while longer, you gotta start maturing soon, luffy!â
âdonât wanna, that sounds boring!â
âcaptainâs canât be immature, yâknow! i donât want an immature captain!â
âiâm mature, the maturest captain out there!â
[name] laughed as loud as possible, finding luffyâs eagerness to please and obliviousness more heartfelt than anything heâs ever seen before.
and as [name] was sitting in the crowâs nest, watching luffy run around the deck whining for adventure, he realized how lucky he got that his captain was still an adventurous, reckless, and immature as he was. he fears that if luffy had lost any of those traits, heâd make for a boring captain.
as if knowing that [name] was watching from above, luffy looked up and grinned happily to see that his e/c eyes were looking at him. in a second, he stretched himself up to where [name] was and crashed into his chest.
âdonât you want to go on more adventures, [name]?â luffy asked, rubbing their cheeks against one another. the grin on his face could be felt along [name]âs skin. his rubbery, but soft, skin was already making [name] crack into a smile of his own.
âyes, i want to go on more adventures, but we need to find an island for that to be an option,â [name] reasoned logically, making luffyâs smile turn into a frown.
âbut i wanna go now! canât you take us to an island?!â
âit doesnât work like that, luffy!â
âit so does, you liar!â
âyouâre right it does, i was lying!â [name] grinned, laughing as luffy began play fighting with him. âbut arenât you on an adventure right now?â
luffy paused, stilling in his fake attacks as he mulled over the question. then his signature grin came back onto his face, âi guess i am!â
âwhat makes you say that?â
âif youâre here, iâm on the best adventure!â luffy sincerely, and unapologetically, shouted.
[name] was shocked at first before his expression melted into a loving stare, âi feel the same way,â
âgood! itâd be wrong if you didnât!â
luffy calmed down from when he was running around on the deck. he still had [name] wrapped up in his arms, but the man wasnât fighting against his embrace. so he only tightened it further.
âiâm really, really, really, really, really happy youâre here, [name].â
luffyâs statement came out of nowhere, but [name] didnât bother showing his surprise. he simply let luffy continue on.
âi donât ever want to be seperated from you again,â luffy said, out of nowhere his voice was now trembling, âyouâd leave and leave and leave and then i never knew when youâd be back â if youâd even come back! and i donât want that ever againâŚdonât ever leave me again!â
[name] frowned, fists clenching at his sides as he heard luffyâs shaky voice.
âand then you left for three years and there was no way i could talk to you, you and ace left me by myself! but you promised me weâd find each other, so i knew youâd come back! and now that youâre back, you canât ever leave again,â luffy tightened his hold on [name], nuzzling his now cold nose into his neck. it had turned cold due to the sudden rush of tears that were clouding his vision.
âno! no! donât take him away! donât take [name] away!â luffy shouted, fighting against the uniformed men. his fists were pathetically pounding into their legs, his cries filling the night air.
â[name]! donât go! please, donât go!!"
for [name], those cries that came from luffy lived in his mind on repeat. whenever heâd have to leave, against his will, luffy would wail and cry until he was too far that he wasnât able to hear him. heâd never make luffy suffer like that again, heâd sworn it to himself.
he was supposed to be the one protecting him, not causing him pain. no more suffering would come to luffy, if [name] could help it. heâd never have to cry for him again.
âi wonât let you leave, i wonât let anyone take you away â never again!â luffy said stubbornly, his teeth grazing the flesh of [name]âs shoulder.
the captain never got sentimental like this â nearly coming to tears for apparently no reason. but, it was not a secret that he had an unseen side to himself when it came to [name].
it was a side that no one else on the crew had really witnessed for themselves (yet). a side of vulnerability that only [name] was capable of bringing out. it was like the way [name] could command luffy stop stealing food off of other peopleâs plates and the captain would listen (for a solid 5 minutes, then heâd have to cave in and steal more food for his stomach).
âi wonât leave, luffy.â [name] said in a determined tone, âno one is going to take me away. i belong here with you, so donât worry about anyone coming for me.â
âif anyone tries taking you away, iâll kill them. iâll send them flying that theyâll never try coming back, ever again!â luffy shouted once more. a deep pit of anger lived in him, a secret that he kept hidden for the most part.
it was a sense of guilt, probably, that fueled it so wildly. the guilt of not being able to do anything when he was a child. so he feels the need to overcompensate now that he has become stronger. if [name]âs position in their crew was ever threatened, someone tried taking him away, luffy would have had years upon years of pent up anger to release.
no one really knew how angry he was. only himself. it was the type of anger he would showcase when one of his crewmates, his nakama, was threatened on a personal level. when he saw nami crying for help against arlong was the one instance he can remember the clearest.
but the thing is, if anything like that ever happened to [name], he doesnât think heâd be able to control himself. if [name] was ever pushed to the point of begging and crying for help, luffy doesnât know how sane he could act.
just thinking of how frail [name] was whenever heâd be taken away when they were younger made him feel blood thirsty.
and it was an odd feeling. he almost never feels this way. never so violent. but when it comes to [name], everything is a free for all in luffyâs mind.
ever since he was a child [name] has been nothing but kind, a protector for luffy. and the captain would rather die than fail in protecting the one person who was always there for him.
âace, quit being so mean to luffy!â [name]âs voice shouted, scolding the freckled man. he ran over to the younger oneâs side immediately, collecting him in his arms and creating a physical barrier around luffy and ace.
âyou baby him too much! how is he supposed to get stronger-â
âheâs just a kid!!!â [name] would shout, as if the three year age gap between himself and luffy amounted to decades. âdonât be so mean to him, donât hit him anymore! i wonât allow it!â
âthereâs no way heâll survive in the real world if you keep this up!â
[name] grit his teeth, standing up and socking ace right in the face, âyou canât decide that!!â
âiâm being realistic!â
âyouâre bullying him, enough!â [name] spat out, once again gathering luffy into his arms, âi wonât allow you to hurt him any more! donât ever think about laying your hands on luffy again!!â
luffy hid his face in [name]âs torso, a feeling blossoming in his chest. he didnât know the name for it and in the coming years, it seems heâd never learn how to properly state this feeling.
but he did know that whenever [name] was nearby, luffy was protected. he felt protected. [name] was, as he is for so many people, a protector. natural instincts make him a self-sacrificial person. if taking a bullet in the place of someone else meant theyâd live, heâd jump in front of the gun in an instant.
it was a trait of [name]âs that luffy genuinely hated. not how protective [name] was, but how involved he was in making judgement calls without regards to his own health.
that self-sacrificial mindset that made [name] think more irrationally than heâd ever notice. luffy hated that.
only tiny instances has ever been seen by luffy when they were growing up. taking scoldings and beatings from garp in order to save luffy the pain, shadowing luffyâs body with his own if there was a sudden danger directed towards him, things along those lines that would leave [name] with some injuries or scars.
but to think that this attitude of [name]âs could lead to more serious injuries, or even death, was what made luffy uncomfortable. made him want to punch a hole in the wall. it really, really infuriated him.
because in his eyes, [name]âs life was something more important than anything else. he didnât understand how [name] could be so careless with something so important to luffy.
the idea that one day, someone may be in a life threatening situation, and [name] would take their place makes luffyâs heart start beating at impossible speeds and his breathing quicken. his mind would get cloudy in dark thoughts. and then heâd have to snap himself out of it to remind himself that he was day dreaming and nothing of those sorts was going to happen any time soon.
heâd make sure of it, as captain he was determined to.
âis he going to be okay, dadan?â luffy sniffled, tiny hands curled into fists as he stared at [name]âs bandaged form.
recklessly, [name] had jumped in front of an animal attacking luffy and took the attack for himself instead. it was a tiger slashing out to draw blood from luffy. [name] had caught the sight from the corner of his eye and ran as fast as he could, hoping to god he had made it in time.
and when he looked down and saw luffy unscratched, he weakly smiled in victory. three slashes were bearing into his skin and making him bleed profusely, but to see luffy unharmed in front of him was enough for him to pass out without a worry in his mind.
imagine luffyâs fear as he had to carry [name] on his back, on his own, not knowing if the ragged breathing coming down on his ears would suddenly stop. the fear and dread heâd feel if he took him all the way back to dadan and it was already determined to be âtoo lateâ to save [name].
and the way it would have all been his fault.
now, in reality, the damage wasnât as bad as luffy had thought it out to be. but he was still only a child. the fact he had seen that much blood was enoug reason for why he thought [name] was really going to die. it was a relatively valid fear.
âheâs going to be alright, this brother of yours is the toughest one of the whole pack of you rabbid animals,â dadan grunted, taking her seat across from luffy by [name]âs side.
ânot my brother,â luffy grumpily corrected, tired of people getting the wrong idea. how many times has he had to tell people [name] wasnât his brother. to luffy he was so much more than that.
as rude as it sounded to his two other brothers, [name] was so much more than a simple title of âbrother.â
âapologies,â dadan sarcastically said, âbut really, heâs going to be fine luffy, heâll be better if you just leave him alone, though.â
she stood up, going to walk out of the room and held the door open for luffy. she waited for him to join her side, but he was glued to being by [name]. seeing his resolve in staying by [name], she gently closed the door behind her.
luffy already promised himself he wouldnât move until [name] opened his eyes.
he wouldnât sleep until [name] opened his eyes. he wouldnât eat until [name] drank water â since luffy knew that would be the first thing the boy would need when waking up.
he wouldnât allow himself the luxury of things [name] was missing out on. especially when it was luffyâs fault he was in this state in the first place.
in the crowâs nest of merry, [name] could only rub up and down luffyâs arm in hopes of calming him down. he felt guilty for being the reason of luffyâs tears, but realized that there was nothing he could have done to prevent them.
the two were too familiar with why he was crying in the first place. they knew that combatting it before the tears would start was useless. luffy had broken down to [name] many times before, especially when they were younger. it would end in sleepless nights and sweet nothings being echoed in the air for luffyâs ears and luffyâs ears only.
and the best way to take care of it was to let it happen. whispered nothings weren't really effective to luffy. he didnât want to be fed empty promises, he could tell when things couldnât be guaranteed. but, he thinks, if [name] is the one saying them he wouldn't mind at least hearing them. that didnât necessarily mean he was listening though.
there was something else he would never pass up on hearing over and over and over again from [name]. it was four simple words. it could be false hope being put into luffyâs head, but heâd believe it for as long as he could.
âiâm not going anywhere,â [name] whispered into luffyâs arms, twisting his body around so now he was properly hugging luffy as well. before luffy had simply suffocated him in his arms, chest to back. but now that they were in a proper embrace, luffy could really hide himself in [name]âs arms.
it was like they were in the treehouse again. in their own world.
âiâm not going anywhere,â [name] repeated more slowly, raking his hands through luffyâs hair and gripping him tight. to emphasize the fact that this was a promise that heâd try his best in keeping.
to luffy, [name] was not a brother.
âi wonât let you,â luffy said in a stubborn voice, the syllables shaking as they left his lips. âyou belong here, only here! you belong with me!â
[name] weakly laughed at luffyâs childish exclamation, nodding his head to ease his worries.
luffy never really got to vent these emotions out, so when did they come to surface, they were almost like a tsunami. theyâd drown him in saying things he mightâve not even understood, but felt right to say.
and heâd blabber on about things he might not understand because he knew keeping them suppressed wasn't an option.
luffy didnât know how to talk about the emotions he felt regarding [name], not in a way that would do them justice at least. he didnât know how to articulate how protective he felt of [name], so instead as a compromise heâd attach himself to him whenever he could.
if someone tried sweeping [name] off of his feet, he wouldnât know how to tell other people [name] was only his, so instead heâd yell about how annoying that person was to him and [name].
he didnât know how to properly say how much he loved [name] so heâd boil it down to thinking [name] was heaven on earth.
[name] smiled gently when he felt luffy bury his head into his neck, tears pouring out of his eyes. he wondered what spurred luffy into being so open at the moment, but he wasnât going to ask. it wasnât appropriate and it didnât matter.
he didnât care why luffy was suddenly so worried on him no longer being there, heâd only focus on assuring him that he really wasnât going anywhere. because someone would have to pry his cold, dead hands off of luffy if they wanted to separate the two. thereâs no way heâd ever leave luffy again, especially after hearing his worries so vividly spoken now.
sure, luffy would say things relatively similar things to this when they were young. but there was always a sense of uncertainty in [name] when he would comfort luffy back then. he wasnât sure if he was really going to be able to stay with him. the circumstances were so confusing back then.
but now itâs a clear picture. he knows that there is no way anyone could come between the two. after being pulled apart so sporadically in their youth and then being separated for three years due to [name] setting sail earlier, there was no room for argument in this matter.
[name] and luffy wouldnât ever be separated for long ever again. [name] would do everything in his power to ensure that didnât happen. anything to keep luffy happy. anything to keep luffy safe and protected.
âwill you always leave like this when we are older, [name]?â luffy innocently asked one night. the two were awake due to the younger one having vivid nightmares regarding [name].
a nightmare that was reoccuring nowadays. [name] would be taken away and then heâd never come back, leaving his status unknown to luffy. and heâd wake up screaming and crying and [name] would be at his side in an instant.
âiâm working on it, lu, i really am,â [name] consoled him, holding him as they bathed in the moonlight. âi hate being away from you too, but thereâs nothing we can do abuot it â for now.â
âiâll get stronger and then iâll beat all those stupid guys up!â luffy said in pure determination, his eyebrows furrowed together in anger and frustration, âiâll fight them next time,â
[name] chuckled, shaking his head, âdonât fight them. just promise to me youâll always be waiting for me when i leave and iâll always, always come back,â
luffy blinked owlishly before settling on that compromise. he wiggled his pinky finger in the air, right in front of [name]âs face, âiâll promise to always be here waiting if you promise to always come back,â
[name] paused, thinking of he really should make empty promises. but then he shook his head, refusing to think so negatively and in a pessimistic way when luffyâs smile was bringing nothing but optimism to their conversation.
so he interlocked their pinkies together, shaking slightly as he nodded, âi promise.â
[name] was tender.
in his earliest memories of [name], luffy has known him to only be tender. the tender care [name] would show him, the love that was delivered to him so tenderly. the touch that would ghost over his skin, not because he was scared of holding him, but so he wouldnât startle him.
no matter what, [name] would always be tender to luffy.

This idea is living in my mind rent free and won't leave me alone!
So Roger pirates (also young shanks and buggy) x puppet!child!f!reader.
Can you do some lyrics from the song "Puppet boy?"
Reader is from a circus, a dangerous one. The Ringmaster has a power where he can control people like puppets and most of the performers are adults who don't get in the way but the ringmaster prefers reader and controls the most in stunts and performances and very dangerous ones, even for adults, like flying trapeze in a very high hight with no support and other crazy things. The audience members don't sense anything only seeing the reader as talented. They don't see reader controlled as the puppet strings are invisible to them. Roger pirates was visiting an Island, saw that s huge event at a circus and decided to go. They see reader who has clown makeup on their face and a circus outfits preforming with adults in VERY dangerous acts. The circus decide to take a quick break to set up for the new act and the ringmaster wants a talk with reader. Reader has to do every dangerous stunt on her own with no help to gain more money for the circus.
Roger pirates save her from the circus and set the performers free. You can add how they save her and how'd they know that she was being controlled. I want an very actiony, angsty thing, if it's alright.
Thank you

This piece has one line that hints to having at least medium length hair, if this does not fit you you can always imagine it is a wig as I made sure it wasenât explicit that it was their hair or you can also take it as their hijab being arranged rather than hair

The man behind the child let out a hum as he looked at the mirror and tried different hairstyles on them.
âPerhaps we should do a half-up-down style; what do you think, dear?
ââŚâ
âAww, come on, donât tell me you are still throwing a tantrum?â He teased looking down at them
âWell, dear, if you werenât so stubborn, I wouldnât have to hurt you the way I do; it is quite simple,â he carelessly added as he continued working on their hair, eventually turning them around to begin working on their make-up.
âOh, how I wish you didnât make me have to punish you; now look, your skin is all stained. Thatâs alright, nothing some makeup canât cover, right?â he spoke as he forcefully pulled their chin up and began to apply powder on their face paying extra attention to the dark bruises that litter their face
âYou will do todayâs show without any nets or supports,â he informed them.
âW-What?â
âDonât move.â He sneered as his words caused the small child to flinch back
âDonât act so surprised, dear; the audience paid a lot to watch you, so itâs only fair to have something at stake.â
âB-But what if I fall?â They cried, slapping his hands away as they jumped off the chair
âEnough.â He growled making, putting his hand out and wiggling his finger in a âcome here motionâ a dark grin growing on his face as they were pulled towards him as he did
âYou seem to be really defiant lately. Do you want the strings to come back? Perhaps I was too benevolent in giving you free will,â he sneered
âWell? Do you?!â He boomed
âNo!â She cried
âGood. Next time, I wonât be as nice,â he said, walking out of the room and glancing back at the crying child on the floor.
âEnough with the tears. Your makeup will get damaged. Get ready for the show; you will be out in a few minutes.â
They sighed, looking at themselves in the mirror, trying to calm the erratic beating of their hearts at the stunts they were forced to do minutes before. Eventually, a few sniffles escaped them, sniffles turning into small hiccups and small hiccups turning into a cascade of tears as the events of the day began to catch up to them.
âWait, Buggy, you idiot!â
It wasnât until the sound of something crashing behind them that they were pulled out of their spiral and stared at the two boys standing there.
âMe?! You were the one that shoved me!â A voice cried
âDid notâ
âYe-
âWho are you?â The child asked, staring wide-eyed at the couple of teens bickering in front of them
âSorry to barge in, we just were looking around,â the redhead answered, turning his attention from his friend to them.
âYou canât be ere!â they hissed.
âI know, I know, this is backstage, but we wanted to see what it was like. Buggy here was really impressed by your act, so we wanted to take a peak.â
âI was not!â the red-nose boy protested, shooting up.
âNo! No! You canât be ere!â Dokucha cried, jumping down from the chair
âHey, Hey, itâs okay. We were just leaving,â Shanks assures them with an easy smile on his face despite having been caught.
âN-
âDokucha!â A voice angrily boomed
âAh!â the child looked at the sound of the voice with a terrified look on their and back to the two boys, quickly running towards them and pulling them to a nearby closet, ignoring the confused protests of the two.
âH-Hey!â
âShhh!â they called, closing the door just in time for the ringmaster to storm in
âWha- Agh!â they cried as the man sent them flying back with a punch to their face. A livid expression on their face as they did
The child looked up at the man, holding their cheek in pain as they did; despite this not being a to them, it did not make this treatment any easier on the child.
âR-Ringmaster?â they questioned
âYou useless brat!â he growled, kicking them back and watching as the child crashed against the masts of the tent at his actions.
âIâm soy! Iâm sory. I can make it better, please!â
âYou think I didnât notice?! What have I told you about hesitating when making your jumps, you worthless piece of shit!â
Tears started to fall from Dokuchaâs eyes as they slowly picked themselves up, looking up at the monster in front of them.
âP-Please, I wasnât h-
âShut up,â He roared.
âItâs obvious I was too lenient on you in giving you some kind of free will; itâs time you remember your place,â he muttered, a dark look growing on his face as he snapped his fingers. He grinned, satisfied at the childâs cries as they were pulled into the air, strings slowly enveloping their bodies.
Ignoring the cries and pleas of the child, he tightened his hand into a fist, watching as the strings seemed to follow their lead as they painfully tightened against the child until they began digging into their skin.
It was their cries that prevented the ringmaster from hearing the scuffle that seemed to occur behind him as this went on. As a livid Shanks started struggling against Buggy, who held the teen back from storming into the scene
âBuggy, we have to do something,â he growled, struggling against his friendâs holds.
âI know, idiot! But look, the guy is a devil-fruit user, a strong one!â Buggy hissed with terrified tears pooling in his eyes at the terrifying scene they had found themselves in
âHeâs going to kill them!â
âAnd us if we run in there!â Buggy shot back
âSo what we just watch as he kills they bleed to death?!â he hissed, breaking free from his friendâs hold and turning towards him.
âN-No! I sent a hand to fetch the captain; we have to wait until they get here!â
âThey donât have that kind of time, Buggy!â
âJust wait, you moron!â
Before Shanks could throw another retort toward his crewmate, loud bangs and screams rang outside of the tent, something that the ringmaster also took notice of. As he let out a few curses as he gave one last look at the child and made his way out of the tent to investigate the commotion.
âTheyâre here!â Buggy exclaimed with a relieved smile
Not a second later, the two pushed their way out of the closet and ran towards the child, who by now had fallen unconscious, no doubt due to the amount of blood that slowly trickled from their body and down the strings that held them up in a morbid resemblance to a fly trapped in a spiderâs web.
Pulling out his throwing knives, Buggy made quick work of the strings, watching as the child fell into Shanksâs awaiting hands as he ran next to the redhead to check on the child.
âH-Hey, are they d-dead?â he questioned, looking down at the child.
âH-Hey! Wake up! Hey!â Shanks cried, trying to shake awake the lifeless body of the child
âNow then, what have you lads gotten yourselves into?â A voice cut into as they walked into the tent, interrupting the teens fretting over the child
âCaptain!â Buggy cried, looking at the man at the door of the tent
âCaptain! Please! Help!â Shanks begged, looking up at his captain, terrified as he hugged Dokuchaâs body closer to them
Roger stared at his apprentices agape, quickly taking in the scene in front of him as he hurried towards them.
âCrocus! Get in here!â he hollered.
It had been a week since those events took place; since then, Crocus had managed to save the child but was unsuccessful in pulling them out of the unconscious state they had been placed in. According to the Doctor, it was likely they had fallen into a comma as a response their body had to the stress undergone due to the torturous treatment at the hands of the ringmaster.
After they had been stabilized, the crew had another problem on their hands; their interference in the circus had caught the attention of the marines, and as such, they needed to set sail. The original plan was to leave the child under the care of the now-freed performers and set off; this, however, did not go as planned. Much to the crewâs surprise, the two apprentices had begged their captain to bring Dokucha along rather than leave them behind at the circus.
Some crew members objected to this idea, concerned with the childâs well-being if they were to be brought upon the ship. Unlike when the two current apprentices were taken in, the crew now sailed more dangerous waters with perilous missions, enemies, and much higher notoriety than a decade prior.
Roger, ever having a soft spot for children, agreed to the teenâs requests under the promise that they had to take part in the caring for the child, something the two had agreed to in an instant. It was clear to the crew that the apprentices had developed a bond with the small child, perhaps reminded of their own origins when they were brought aboard the Oro Jackson; regardless, in the past week, they had made true to their promise as the two were often found hanging on the sick bay watching for any new updates on the state of Dokucha. Despite being out of their element when they first woke up terrified and in tears against all odds, the teen had managed to assure the child, promising to remain by their side.
It had taken a few more weeks for the child to adjust to their new life and leave behind the fear that came with their old life. Still, with time, they had slowly reverted to a gleeful three-year-old once again, ready to join Shanks and Buggy in any mischievous adventures the two went on.
âWhoâs that?â Dokucha questioned from their position on Buggyâs lap as both him Shanks sat with them on the Deck of the ship as they scanned over a piece of Newspaper
âThey are a bunch of nobodies!â Buggy sneered, watching as the Whitebeard pirates had once again taken over the headline of the newspaper
Dokucha looked up at the paper once again, a grin on their face as they took the picture of the pirates in
âThey look prety cool!â
âThatâs what they want you to think, Dokucha! They may look cool, but they are nothing compared to us.â Buggy Boasted
âYes! Cause Roer pirates r e best,â they cheered.
"Dhahahaha good Job Dokucha!" Shanks grinned as he stood up, throwing the child in the air and causing them to let out gleeful squeals at the action.
âStill, what a bummer, those guys are getting all the glory,â he stated as he put Dokucha on his hip and continued to Scan the newspaper, only for it to be snatched from his hands.
âA samurai, huh?â their captain laughed.
âI would love to meet him!â he exclaimed
âCapi!â Dokucha cheered, extending their arms towards the man, laughing as he complied with their silent request and grabbed them from Shanks
âHey there, champ!â he exclaimed, lifting them up in the air.
âHow are you feeling today? What are you up to with the lads?â
âIâm good! Shans-nii and Buggy-nii are showing me the whybear pirates.â They grinned.
âWhitebeard,â Shanks Scoffed out with a snicker.
âWhiebeard!â they parroted
âWahahahaha! Iâm glad youâre in good spirits today!â he called, putting them down and watching as they ran their way back to Buggy, hugging their leg happily and letting out a giggle as the clown picked them up and placed them on his hip as he made silly faces to the child.
âWhere are we heading now, Captain?â Shanks questioned
âWeâre on the way to a nearby summer Island. I have received reports of the Whitebeard crew being spotted close. It will be the perfect chance to meet this Samurai fellow!â
âWeâre going to meet the Wildboars?!â Dokucha called excitedly
Shanks sighed, giving up on correcting them and pulling on the cheek of the child.
âDokucha, you have to stay next to us, okay? I donât trust those guys!â
âOey! Shans-nii!â they whined, slapping his hand away with a frown, promptly being replaced by a smile.
âBut itâs okay cause Capi and bothers are gonna be there!â they cheered.
"Wahahaha! That's right Dokucha! Just stay near us and everything will be fine!"
âYes Capi!â
Okay yes that last part highkey dosenât fit the whole action pace of the story and much less the narration that followed after but listen I could not in good conscience not add wholesomeness! I couldnât, just lil Dokucha hanging from shankâs hip or cuddle in his lap as he read or Buggyâs faces to make them laugh 𼚠and omg the capi, im so smart yall đ¤

âDonât.â
With one leg still thrown over the side of the ship, you whip around and glare at Yassop. You dropped your head onto the railing and groaned, âCome on! I wonât even leave the docks, please!â
Yassop looked up from the gun that he was polishing, shooting you a weary look, âYou know the rules, kid.â
âThe rules are stupid!â
âTake that up with Shanks if you think so,â he replied in a bored tone.
You give out the most exasperated sigh and hop down from the railing with a huff. The boards creaked under the impact, more so after you began stomping across the deck. Both of you knew full well that talking to Shanks would get you nowhere. Heâs the captain and your dad, he isnât about to take orders from you.
Using more force than probably necessary, you open and slam the door to the captainâs quarters. It doubled as your bedroom, too. That was fine when you were little, but now you wanted your own space. Every time you tried to tell him this, you would just get waved off and told there was no room. It was either his room or bunking with all the other guys, so you begrudgingly accepted your fate of staying where you were. At least he put up a curtain to give you a little privacy.
After flopping onto your bed, you screamed into your pillow at the top of your lungs while kicking your feet on the bed. This was so unfair!
All you wanted was to leave the damn ship on a populated island. The only times you ever got to set foot on solid land was if they stopped at an uninhabited island, but that wasnât enough for you anymore. You wanted to see people that werenât your family, see sights that you donât usually get to see, and pick out your own damn clothes for once! Was that really so much to ask for?!
Violently, you flipped onto your back and scowled at the ceiling, clutching your screamed-in pillow to your chest.
This was all so frustrating, but you didnât know how to fix it. Talking to your dad was pointless, he never listened to you when you were complaining. The crew was just as bad, they treated you like a baby. But they were all you had. Shanks didnât let you see, much less talk, to anyone else.
What you needed was leverage. You needed something that would give you enough of an upperhand to get him to listen to you. In essence, you needed blackmail, and you were in the perfect place to find some.
You grinned maliciously as you sprung out of your bed and marched over to his side of the room. Surely there had to be something in here that would give you some dirt on him! You arenât sure what exactly youâre looking for, but you figure youâll know it when you see it.
First was the bed. You lifted up the mattress to peek under and see if anything was hidden underneath. Nothing.
Next was the bedside table. You opened all of the drawers one by one. While you did find some stuff, it wasnât anything useful. Some old maps, pens, notebooks with nothing interesting in them, a mostly empty booze bottle. Nothing scandalous enough to get a leg over on him.
There was a clothes dresser, too. At first you hesitated. No one wants to risk seeing their dadâs underwear, but desperate times call for desperate measures.Â
Pulling open the first drawer, you found a bunch of shirts haphazardly shoved into it. None of them were folded, and it looks like he filled this thing up blindfolded and under intense pressure. No wonder his clothes are so wrinkled. It was a bit of a struggle to close when you were done rifling through it due to how jam-packed it was. Part of a shirt was sticking out after you finally slammed it shut, but you couldnât be bothered to care. Itâs not like you were going to make it look any worse.
The next drawer was similar to the first in terms of how messy it was, but this time with pants. Itâs no longer a mystery as to why he perpetually looks like he just rolled out of bed. Whatever, his unfortunate state of fashion is of no real concern to you.
As you dug through the mess of pants, your fingers made contact with something solid. You froze briefly but quickly snapped out of it and grabbed whatever it was you touched. It took a bit of effort, but you freed the object from its tangled up prison. It was a small box. With a lock on it.
Perfect!
This had to be it! If he cared enough to lock it up, then there must be something top secret in here! Giddily, you scurried back to your bed with your findings, not even bothering to kick the dresser shut. You were going to be confronting him with this anyways, no need to be secretive about it.
The box was tossed onto your bed while you dug through your own bedside table, looking for your lockpicking kit. Shanks was about to regret teaching you how to do that.Â
You threw the kit next to the box and hopped on the bed. The lock was tiny and appeared to be uncomplicated, youâre betting youâll have it open in under a minute. Grabbing your slimmest hook, you jammed it into the keyhole.
It unlocked instantly. Damn, you might have to make fun of your dad for using such a useless lock.
The lock was discarded and you opened the box. It was full of pieces of paper and photographs. Interesting. You pick up the first photo you see. Itâs facing down, the back of it says âUta - 2â. You flip it over, curious to see what that note on the back means.
Itâs a picture of your dad when he was much younger, but that wasnât what stuck out to you. What really caught your eye was the little girl he was holding. She was very young, and her hair was split down the middle with one side being white and the other red. Both of them were grinning from ear to ear. You canât remember ever seeing your dad look that happy.
You look at the note again. âUta - 2â. The girl looked to be about two years old, so that was probably her age. Was Uta her name? That made sense.
But who is she?Â
No one has ever mentioned someone named Uta being on board. As far as you were aware, you were the only child thatâs ever been with them. Maybe this picture was taken before Shanks became a pirate? No, wait, it canât be that either. Heâs never not been a part of a pirate crew.
You need more information. Setting the picture aside, you start pulling more stuff out of the box. Thereâs some sheet music. The handwriting is somewhat neat, but also big and exaggerated with more loops than necessary and hearts dotting the iâs. Like it was written by a child. On the bottom, the name Uta was signed in large cursive letters.
Another photo is taken out, Shanks isnât in it, but Uta and other members of his crew are. Uta is standing on a box like some sort of a makeshift stage, and appears to be singing if you had to guess. The others were clapping and cheering her on. This was definitely taken a while ago. Bennâs hair hadnât even turned gray yet. The back of it said âUta - 5â.
The next picture once again has Uta in it. Sheâs sitting next to a little boy with black hair and a scar under his eye.
Why does your dad have so many pictures of some girl youâve never even heard of? This definitely feels like a secret, but youâre so confused about what youâre finding that you canât bring yourself to feel like this is really a victory for you. You need to dig deeper.
Once again, you reach for another photo, one with three people in it this time. You instantly recognize Shanks and Uta, who you donât know is the seemingly newborn baby in Shanksâ arms. His expression is nothing but soft and adoring, while Utaâs is a combination of curious but excited.
How many damn kids has your dad taken in and proceeded to just never mention ever?!
You flip over the picture to figure out who this one is supposed to be, but freeze up when you read it.
â(Y/N) - Just got here!â
Thatâs⌠you? You and Uta were here at the same time, but youâre just now finding out about her? What the hell is going on?
Frantically, you unceremoniously dump out the rest of the contents of the box. Youâre desperate to find answers, anything that could explain why your dad has this top secret box dedicated to whoever this Uta girl is.
A picture that stands out to you is one of Uta helping the baby- you- stand. Youâre a little older here, roughly a year old it would seem. A quick glance at the back confirms your guess as correct, and that Uta is seven. Sheâs six years older than you. Since you no longer have the squished face of a baby just welcomed into the world, your features are actually recognizable. This is definitely you and not just some other kid named (Y/N).
The mystery unraveling in front of you is so engrossing that youâre deaf to the world around you. That is, until the door to the room is thrown open. Your heart leaps into your throat. Oh shit! Why is he back so soon?! You scramble to quickly but quietly pile your findings back into their box.
â(Y/N), I got you something in-â Shanks voice falls flat and stops abruptly in the middle of the sentence. No, no, no! How does he know something is wrong already?!
You didnât close the dresser.
Before you can even begin to think of what to do next, Shanks drops whatever he was holding and closes the distance between you two and rips the curtain to the side. All you can do is shrink in on yourself and gawk at his furious expression.
The second his eyes land on the box in your hands, he snatches it into his own. He stomps away and slams it onto the dresser while hastily rifling through it. He hasnât said a damn thing to you since the realization of what you did.Â
Damage control, you need to do damage control, and fast. You move to stand, and utter out a quiet, âDad?â
âSit. Down,â his tone was sharp and left zero room for argument. Heâs never spoken to you so coldly, even during your worst arguments.Â
All you wanted was to have a chance to explore the town, and now look where that has gotten you. This was a stupid mistake. Shanks and his crew were all you had, and now youâve made a huge problem of yourself. What would happen to you if he decided you werenât worth the hassle anymore?
You couldnât help it. Between all the previous confusion mixed with his harsh treatment broke the dam and tears started to pour down your face. You sniffle loudly while furiously wiping at your face, and force out, âI-Iâm sorry.â
With your head being in your hands, and your eyes clouded with tears, you have no hope of being able to gauge his reaction. Or see if he even cares enough to pay you any mind. Probably not, not when heâs this mad at you.Â
Your bed dips from the weight of Shanks sitting down next to you. Without hesitation, you latch onto him, burying your face in his coat while sobbing out apologies. Anything to make him stop being so upset with you. Much to your relief, his arm came around your back and held you to him.
âItâs⌠fine. I wish you wouldnât have done that, but itâs nothing to cry about,â his voice was strained, but held the warmth that had been previously absent.
Even with that, you needed time to calm down. While your dad being annoyed with your attitude was hardly a new occurrence, him being genuinely upset was. Frankly, you didnât know how to deal with this, and you were still terrified about how much damage your actions just did.
Shanks didnât say anything else, instead choosing to sit in silence with you. You couldnât decide if that made things better or worse. Actually, you could decide. The lack of words was absolutely worse, but you didnât know what to say right now either.
âYassop told me you tried to sneak off the ship. Again.â
Nevermind. You wish to go back to silence. All you did in response was bury your face deeper into his coat while mumbling a quick âsorryâ for your actions. You were going to dump out that snitchâs booze stash later.Â
His chest heaved with the sigh he let out, and his hand came up to pat your head, âI know that you donât like this, I understand that, but sometimes you have to do things you donât like.â There was a pause, but when you didnât respond, he continued, âItâs for your own good. The world is a dangerous place.â
âBut⌠But youâre an emperor. Youâre the Red Haired Shanks. Whatâs the worst that could happen if we just go for a walk in town?â As far as youâre concerned, thereâs no threat that your dad canât handle, not to mention the rest of his crew. Even if someone is stupid enough to try something, theyâll deal with it.
He chuckled, but it was humorless, empty, âJust because Iâm an emperor doesnât mean that bad things wonât still happen. That bad things havenât already happened.â
âWhere is Uta?â
Bringing her up was risky, you knew that, but you need answers. You need to get to the bottom of why Shanks is like this, and this is the closest you feel that youâve ever come to finding out.
Shanks became rigid at the mention of her name. The hand on your head was now squeezing, bordering on painful from how tight it was. You tried to wiggle away but couldnât break his hold.Â
âSheâs gone.â
âShe died?!â While you didnât know what to expect, it certainly wasnât that.
âNo!â Shanks' hand dropped down onto your shoulder and wrenched you away from him. His eyes were wide and wild, âSheâs not dead!â
You visibly recoiled from him, you canât remember a time youâve ever heard him yell. Once again, you can feel your eyes start to water and your lip tremble. God, what you wouldnât give for this whole interaction to just be over already. Or for it to have simply never happened in the first place.
His face fell, and he looked away from you with a grimace. Mercifully, his grip had relaxed a bit and no longer felt like a vice on you. âUta is alive and well, she just isnât here. Not anymore.â
âWhy not? Where is she?â You had more questions with every answer he gave, this wasnât making any sense. What could have happened to result in her not being here? He wouldnât just⌠abandon her. Would he?
âBecause I wasnât able to protect her,â his voice was so quiet that if you were any further away from him you wouldnât have heard him. âShe needed to be left in someone elseâs care for her own good. I wasnât able to keep her safe, and thatâs something that I will never let happen again. Not with you.â
âBut what happened? I donât understand,â you felt like you were simultaneously getting closer and also further from the truth. Nothing about this was making sense. There was a bigger story here, but he was seemingly hellbent on keeping his answers to you vague.Â
âYou donât need to understand, youâre just a child. Do both of us a favor and forget about what you saw and whatâs been said,â Shanks got to his feet, moving to leave not only the conversation, but also the room entirely.
You launched yourself off the bed and grabbed onto his arm, âWait! You canât just tell me to forget about this! I want answers!â You werenât about to let him get out of this discussion so easily.
âWell, (Y/N), sometimes you donât always get what you want. Weâre done talking about this,â the way he spoke to you was slightly condescending. He turned to face you and crouched down to be at eye level, âHow about you take a nap? Seems like you need one.â
You were getting on his nerves, that was a given, but you couldnât up and let this go. Scoffing, you crossed your arms and glared at him, âI donât need a nap, Iâm not a baby.â
Shanks smiled, but it didnât reach his eyes, âCouldâve fooled me with the way youâre acting today.â
As much as you wanted to yell and be mad about what he just said, your mind went blank. You felt dizzy and like you couldnât remember how to control your body. A second later, you stumbled and crashed into Shanks who caught you with ease.
Haki. He used Haki on you.Â
Distantly, you registered being lifted off the ground. Your head was pounding and felt like it was packed with cotton to the point of bursting. A few steps later, you were dropped on a bed. Youâre so out of it that you canât even tell if itâs yours or his.
An attempt was made to say something, anything, but your tongue refused to cooperate. All you could do was stare up at the blurring form of Shanks helplessly, wondering why he would go to such an extreme over you asking a few questions.Â
The last thing you remember is a blanket being pulled over you before everything fades to black as youâre forcibly thrown into a restless sleep.Â

Patching up Laws Wounds
Zoro Law Sanji Shanks Ace Luffy Sabo Doflamingo
Pairing: Law x GN!Reader CW: Needles, suturing, mentions of cuts, poor medical knowledge on readers part. WC: 973
A fierce battle has left everyone in the current state theyâre in: battered, cut and bruised. Your Captain, Law, has taken the time to help patch up the rest of the crew, but has refused to look at his own injuries deeper than just wrapping them up. Every attempt to aid him was met with stern orders to leave him alone, choosing to deal with his injuries on his own despite his state of exhaustion from the battle and overuse of his devil fruit. However, you are not one to back down. When Law had told you to shoo, you planted your feet firmly and simply said, âNo.â
He raised an eyebrow at you, clearly taken aback. âNo? Did you really just say no?â
You nod at him. âYep. I will not just leave you like this, Captain. Youâre far too exhausted to treat yourself so no, I will not leave you. Let me help.â
His expression is a mix of disbelief and amusement. âYou know this is insubordination, right? Refusing to obey my orders?â
You reply without hesitation, âThrow me in the brig, make me scrub the ship top to bottom, punish me for insubordination however you please, but let me help you.âÂ
He stares at you, face almost blank, before deeply sighing and agreeing. âFine whatever. I guess youâre the person I would rather trust with this.â
With a nod, he leads you to the med bay of the ship and takes a seat on one of the patient beds. He unwraps the bandages on his body to reveal that itâs littered with cuts and bruises, leaving you gasping in surprise. âWhat? You wanted to help,â he remarks with a hint of sarcasm.
You couldnât hide your astonishment âI didnât expect you to have so many wounds on you!â
He rolls his eyes at your reaction. âI did do the majority of the work; it should be expected.â
âShut upâŚâ you grumble as you inspect his injuries. You examine the wounds for a moment before muttering âhmm⌠it looks bad⌠you might have sepsis, yeah the wounds look like theyâre herniating and you might also have some melanoma.âÂ
He looks at you utterly bewildered at the sentence you just uttered. âHuh? Do you even know what you just said?â
âIâve been nose-deep inside your medical books, picking up a thing or two,â You reply with confidence.
âBut sepsis? Herniating? Melanoma? Those are all serious conditions. Do you even know what those words mean?â
You shook your head âNope, but since Iâm now your temporary doctor youâll have to settle with my medical knowledge for now.â
He lets out a groan. âWell, let me help you out, temporary doctor I do not have sepsis, nothing on my body is herniating and I sure as hell donât have melanoma. I have internal bleeding and a bunch of lacerations on my body that need to be stitched up.â
âOhâŚâ
âYeah oh, now go get the suture kits, you know where they are right?â He asks.Â
You nod and grab a few suture kits. You lay them on the table next to you and open one up.Â
âThe one on my abdomen is the deepest, so stitch that one up first.â Law instructs.
You pull out the needle and suture and grab some forceps. You take a look at the wound and start suturing. Your first few passes of the needle are rushed and unsteady. You hear law wincing above you when he finally snaps. âI asked you to sew me up, not maim me!â He sees your reaction and takes a few deep breaths calming down. âSorry⌠Here, let me show you. He takes the needle and forceps out of your hand and starts suturing up his own cut with precision and accuracy. He hands them back to you. âSee? Like that. Try again.â
You go to start suturing again, but your hands are a bit shaky from the nerves. He notices this and sighs. He places one hand over your own to stop you and uses the other to grab your chin and tilt it up to meet his gaze. âCalm down. Itâs only a suture,â he reassures you, his voice surprisingly gentle. âJust take a deep breath and try again slowly and calmly.âÂ
The action of him grabbing your chin like that surprises you, but his words and the comforting gaze in his eyes is enough to calm you down. You nod at him and take a deep breath before starting your sutures again. You are slow and meticulous, hoping to not hurt the Surgeon of Death that is sitting right in front of you. You focus intensely, your eyebrows furrowing and your tongue slightly poking out of your mouth as you do so.Â
Adorable⌠Law thinks to himself. His gaze grows soft as he continues to watch your handiwork. He encourages you along the way, muttering small praises.Â
Once youâre done you look at him with anticipation. âDone, is it okay?âÂ
He runs his finger over the stitches and a smirk forms on his face. âNot bad⌠though you can do better.â
You frown slightly at his critique
âLuckily for you though,â Law continues, âI have plenty more wounds that need stitching. So come on, get stitching.â
You begin stitching up his other cuts as well. The moment is intimate in a way. You two fall into a comfortable silence and he just watches you with utter affection as you mend him. By this point he is very much able to patch up his own wounds, but he needs an excuse to get close to you, to feel your touch. The Captain may not admit it out loud, but he has fallen for you and cherishes every moment he has with you, even if a little pain has to come with it.Â

If you really love me, let me go [Preview]
Parings: Red Haired Shanks x Vice Admiral! Reader
Prompt:
Hey Mami! Soo I've been thinking about our beloved Shanks x Vice admiral!Reader. Cuz why not? He's so carefree, so it would be nice to see him with someone who is the opposite of him. As usual, @orange-milky has me blushing and kicking my feet. So be sure to thank her when I finish this fic.
ON WITH THE SHOW!!~~
The stars above stretched endlessly across the night sky, their brightness cutting through the dark canopy like diamonds spilled across velvet. It was your favorite part of living hereâhow open and vast the heavens always seemed. You found comfort in how steady they remained, unmoved by the chaos of life below.Â
Sometimes, as you looked up at the twinkling lights, you wondered what it would be like to sail in the sky itself, drifting from planet to planet like the sea of stars was just another ocean. Luffy, ever the dreamer, always promised to make your wildest fantasies come true, and knowing him, it wasnât outside the realm of possibility.Â
But what about you? What about your responsibilities?
Shanks' voice pulled you from your thoughts, though you hadnât caught his words.
"Hey, are you alright lass?" he asked softly, his tone laced with a gentle concern.
You blinked, turning your attention back to him, meeting those familiar, warm eyes that seemed to hold a world of their own.Â
"Sorry, no. What did you say?"
He smiled, that easy, carefree grin that never quite matched the weight of his words. "I was asking if youâd join me at sea again."
The idea hung between you like the scent of saltwater that always seemed to cling to him. You opened your mouth, glancing toward the town below, gesturing to the village that stretched out in the distance, its peaceful quietness versus the unpredictability of a pirateâs life. The flicker of lanterns from the homes and streets was like the heartbeat of the place youâd sworn to protect.
But Shanks shook his head, his expression unbothered by your hesitation. "Not for long," he clarified. "Just two weeks. I know you couldnât stay forever."
His words were calm, non-pressuring, but the temptation lingered like a beckoning wave. You mulled it over, your mind swimming with the responsibilities that weighed you down. You werenât young anymore, at least not in the way that counted. The youthful impulsiveness of picking up and leaving whenever you felt like it had long passed.Â
Now, you had cadets who looked up to you, a village that relied on your protection, and a life you couldnât simply walk away from. The thought of leavingâeven just for a few weeksâand returning to disaster haunted you.
Yet, here stood Shanks, the man who could never be caught, the one who had always captured your heart. He wasnât crowding you, wasnât demanding an answer. He was just⌠there, waiting, like always. He reached into his pocket and passed you a handkerchief. You hadnât realized you still had remnants of your green face mask smeared across your cheek.
You took the handkerchief with a small, grateful nod, wiping away the last smudge of your mask. Shanksâ grin widened as he watched you, a mischievous glint lighting up his features.
"Lovely as ever," he said with that familiar charm.
You raised an eyebrow, disbelief clear on your face. "Really now?"
"Yes," he said, his tone softening into something more genuine. "Like the first day I saw you. You just keep getting better and better."
His words, while honest and genuine, cut deep. They were too real, too heartfelt for the situation you were both in. It hurtâknowing he meant every word. You let out a heavy sigh, your chest tightening as you voiced what was already understood.Â
"Thatâs what makes this so painful, Shanks. Weâve been dancing around each other for years. How long can we keep playing this game?"
You both fell silent, a weight settling between you like the fog rolling off the sea. The unspoken truth was something everyone knewâfrom the Celestial Dragons to the mermaids deep in the ocean. Even the sea beasts you used to ride in your younger days knew: You and Shanks were in love. But there were laws to nature that even love couldnât break.Â
A bird and a fish could admire each other, even come to each otherâs aid when needed, but they could never be together. One couldnât fly, and the other couldnât swimânot where it mattered.
"What a cruel twist of fate this is," you whispered, your voice barely carried by the wind.
Shanks nodded solemnly, his gaze never leaving yours.
"Indeed."

Doll 12
Pairings: Shanks x Female Reader
Summary: Feelings are shared, and you get a glimpse into Shanks' past
*note* so sorry this is so short! I promise next Part will be much longer. We'll be covering a lot haha
Doll Masterlist
You swallow thickly. Love? The redhead loved you? You understood that came with the territory of being with someone like how you were with Shanks, but the confession still shocked you. But then you think back to everything that Shanks has done for you, has said to you. The way he would comfort you and hold you close, whispering sweet nothings and reassurances. You remember how relieved you'd been to have him there after that first nightmare, how he had walked you through the panic attack and made sure you were okay, and you realize that you've loved Shanks since that night.
âBaby?â
His voice, hesitant and even fearful, brings you out of your thoughts. You surge forward, lips meeting his own and clutching his face tightly. You kiss him like your life depended on it, licking into his mouth and whining when his tongue meets yours in an exquisite dance. You break the kiss with a soft gasp, eyes wet as you meet his gaze.
âI love you, too. So, so much Shanks,â you whisper brokenly, and then the redhead is on you again, a desperate sound leaving his mouth as he kisses you. You are his, and the knowledge that you love him makes it all the more real. You would never leave him, never abandon him like so many others have before in his life. Shanks would never have to be alone again.
He doesnât realize that he's started crying until he feels your thumbs drag across his cheeks, swiping them away. He pulls himself up, falling to his side and taking you with him. You hold him close, one arm wrapped right around his shoulders and the other still cupping his face. His shoulders shake, and he has to suck in a heaving breath to make his lungs work again, though they stutter with a sob on the exhale.
âMy sweet boy,â you murmur, and lean forward, pressing gentle kisses along his face, anywhere that you could reach, uncaring of the tears that stain your lips. Shanks was always so strong, such a pillar of confidence, that it breaks your heart to know that your confession of love has broken him down so easily. What had happened to him to make him like this?
âYou won't leave me? Won't abandon me because I'm too much?â Shanks whispers. He doesn't want to put all of this on you so out of nowhere, but your confession has pulled up old fears that he'd thought he had gotten over. Buggy had left because the blue haired man couldn't handle how clingy Shanks had become after Roger's execution. Mihawk had pulled away from him when they were young, too unused to affection to put up with the redheads' need for physical touch.
He had tempered himself over the years. Shanks couldn't stand the thought of someone else who he cared for so much, leaving him behind. Of course he had his crew, but it had taken him a long time to gather each and every one of them, and by that time, Shanks had promised himself that he would never let his emotions lead him again.
That is until you came along, and all of that was blown out the window. Shanks still wasn't sure what drew you to him and him to you. Maybe it was the feel of your haki, so soft and delightful that it felt like a summer morning. Or the way you are always so ready to do whatever he suggested, so excited to just spend time with him even if it's something as simple as laying on the front deck of the ship, your head pillowed against his shoulder.
âNothing in this world will be able to take you away from me, Shanks. I promise you.â You swear and gently lift his face from where he had pressed it into your shoulder. His handsome face is wet with tear tracks, but you just smile tenderly and lean in to press your lips to his brow before pulling away to push forward, your nose sliding across his, âI'll say it as many times as you need me to.â
His lips quiver, and you think Shanks is about to start crying again, but your captain sucks in another deep breath, and this time, his exhale is smooth. He curls his arm tight around your middle, pulling you as close as he is physically able and you hum low in your throat, shifting forward to slide into a delicate kiss, a quiet press of lips before you pull away.
âI love you, Shanks,â you repeat and begin to pepper his face with kisses, wanting to try and cheer the redhead up. You don't like seeing him so sad. Like the color of his haki, Shanks was supposed to be sunshine incarnate, full of joy and laughter.
Shanks laughs, still feeling a bit choked up as he rolls to his back, and you slide with him, hooking your leg over his hips so that you are staring down at him. His hand draws slow circles against your thigh, and he looks at you with such a soft expression of adoration that you feel yourself fall in love with him all over again. He huffs after a moment, rolling his dark eyes at himself.
âI'm sorry it took someone else giving you attention for me to tell you how much you mean to me. I guess Mihawk is good for something,â He says, and you laugh at his despondent tone.
âSounds like you owe him a bottle of that wine he wouldn't stop talking about,â you quip, and Shanks groans but nods. It would be the least he could do for his old friend.
âYeah, I guess you're right,â He grumbles good naturedly, but then his expression turns soft and gentle, âBut I'd much rather focus on you right now, doll.â
You match his smile, leaning down to kiss him and then snuggle against his chest. After all of this, as much as the idea of Shanks touching you excites you, you honestly just want to cuddle with your lover and ignore the outside world for a while. The redhead softens at once and presses his lips to the top of your head as his arm wraps around your back to keep you close, âCan we justâŚlay here for a while?â
Shanks nods, pressing another kiss to your hair with a soft hum, âCourse we can, baby. Anything you want.â
You smile and close your eyes, simply basking in his warmth and the comforting feel of his haki as it begins to surround you. It's a pale yellow, soft and light like a new day, and you wouldn't want to be anywhere else than right here beside the man you loved.
