The Word is not a timeless deposit of philosophy but the story of an episode, and when it is spoken, when the story is told, with the witness of the Church, the Holy Spirit does His work, takes of the things of Christ and gives them to us. Ahhh. Finally, some solitude to fill my hungry soul. I love the backyard when it cools down; no company but the three cats. These are my current devotions to follow reading the Word; “Stewards of Eden,” by Dr. Sandra Richter and “The Theology of the Sacraments,” by D.M. Baillie. I am anticipating wonderful prose and theological insight from this one as he is the brother of the much-beloved “A Diary of Private Prayer”—John Baillie. And what better scenery than the outdoors to read the "Stewards of Eden" by and from one of favorite scholars of the Word, Dr. Sandy.  See my stories for a wonderful worship song to rest in the presence of the Almighty Father in your devotion time.
