Any discworld fans out there; which (⏩swipe⏩) was your first read? Which is(are) your favourite(s)? Finished this epic back-to-back read through about a week ago. If you've never read one, have a look through the cover art by Josh Kirby (@joshkirbyart) and @paulkidby (Great A'tuin 👆) , and see which catches your eye; it's worth a peek, even if only for the art. Kirby did the first 26 covers before passing, with Paul Kidby taking up the mantle for the remaining 15 books. The wonderful thing about a novel: though the words, characters, and story remain the same; you as the reader rarely do. Picked up my first Discworld novel,  "Men at Arms" (probably still my favourite), way back in Primary (Elementary) school from the public library thanks to the fantastically enticing and slightly grotesque cover art by the legendary Josh Kirby. From that point on, if ever one was found on the shelves it had to be read. Unfortunately public libraries rarely had more than 3 or 4 of his books in the 90's/00's. My first full series read was back around 2014 when I decided to pick up art again, spanning the 2 years leading up to and following Sir Terry Pratchett's death with the publication of the final novel, "The Shepherd's Crown". That was bitter sweet as it meant acknowledging the end of it all. His books were always a source of inspiration and his subtle satirical wit and perspective on the more peculiar cultural traits we so prize and value, yet think so little on as a people, were always a source of amusement and comfort. It's nice to know you’re not alone in questioning the eccentricities of the everyday. I had hoped to get through them all in a year; but 4 extra months isn't so bad - that's life; there are things that need doing... mind how you go. #terrypratchett #joshkirby #paulkidby #discworld #bookseries #thewitches #thecitywatch #thewizards #death #greatatuin #industrialrevolution #discworldbooks #discworldnovels #discworldseries #discworld41 #worldofpoo #terrypratchettbooks #sirterrypratchett #discworldfan #terrypratchettfanpage #terrypratchettsdiscworld#mustread #aldiko #aldikobookreader #goodreads #pennedbooks #pennedplaces (at Changwon) https://www.instagram.com/p/COUCk4LDWi6/?igshid=pkkfn1iymxek
