I finished “Art Heist, Baby” last week and have been emotionally ruined ever since.
If I read one more fic that aligns with ‘Kill your darlings’ I’m gonna pummel someone.
Stop hurting me, I have done nothing to you, and yet you destroy me.
I personally hate every person who recommended this fic to me. 👿
Ok so I just finished Art Heist, Baby!
I mean just by that you can predict that I'm literally in pieces.
But I just wanted to tell u how I literally predicted a part of it without knowing.
Like for an example a few weeks ago in my art class my teacher was talking about prospective in art. And then she showed us the ballet class photo by Degas. I never heard of him but I was literally mesmerized by his art. So that day I went on pinterest and LITERALLY MADE A PINTEREST BOARD OF MY FAV ART BY HIM. AND MY FAVORITE WAS THE DANCERS ONE. And then I read AHB. And I was like Okey I heard of degas before, because by that time I forgot that I made the board. And then I searched him up on pinterest. I cried.

Finished Bloodmarked (book 2 in the Legendborm cycle).
My only request for Oathbound is NO MORE LOVE TRIANGLE. Please give me a “why choose” trope. I need a beautiful poly pairing to be established. Please. I’m begging. 🙏🏼

FINISHED MISTBORN.
Ok I get the hype. This was worth all the praise. Honestly, this had me way more invested than Throne of Glass… am I becoming a Sanderson Girlie?!? Can I get over him being Mormon? This was good enough for me to try. Onto the next!

Finished Hell Bent by Leigh Bargudo and I liked it even more than Ninth House.
But like, is someone ever going to get to use the glow stick dick or nah?

“Just lovers (like we were supposed to be)” by Zeppazariel on AO3.
I think this fanfic cured my depression…
At least the parts of my depression that were created from reading All The Young Dudes.
Had a rough week and was sick last weekend so I binged this fic and it brought a little light back into my life.
When I finally get around to reading Choices and Crimson River I will probably spiral into emotional despair. Stay tuned to find out.

Finished Maurice by E.M. Forster this week and wow, just wow. I thought this was gonna be a hard read because I can struggle with classic lit but even though there were times I was confused with language the overall story flowed well and I was captivated by the young man’s story.
Maurice isn’t always likeable but he is relatable and real. I liked the happy ending but it felt a little rushed with Alec at the end.
I am also in the camp that while Clive was sexually repressed and has a lot of internalized homophobia I think he was probably also asexual.
For a book written so long ago the story stands the test of time. I wish more classic literature were gay… although, some definitely are, they just don’t say it out loud.
