After her mother, Captain Morgan of The Grey Banshee, made her famed escape from the impenetrable Abysrius Keep, she was saved by a Merman. They fell in love and had a child in secret. The daughter would be raised as human aboard the Banshee, but as she grew, it became harder to deny her hybrid status as water exposed her mermaid form. Upon turning sixteen, assassins from Sirenea attacked the Banshee under orders from Prince Theseus. Seirus’s affair was discovered during Theseus’s coronation when he tried to accept the trident, but the magical item refused, sensing another heir out there. He can’t become King until Amarylla is dead or swears her allegiance and forfeits her right to the throne. Amarylla’s true identity is revealed, and her mother is killed in the incursion. Her human half brother Zayn blames her for the loss, and so she runs, hunted by both her brothers. She joins an assassin guild known as The Golden Wheel and eventually trains as a Bard. At 18, she is anonymously given the job of killing Captain Alistair Throne, but he bests her in battle when her hybrid status is revealed. Instead of killing her, he offers her a job aboard the King because of her abilities and protection. She works her way up from deck crew to trusted friend and Helmswoman. Frozen deciding between her human side and her possible life under the sea, Amarylla must choose what her future has in store when a mysterious offer from her former guild arrives that could change everything. But can she leave the crew that became family behind, or are they better off and safer without her? It’s the New Years Eve and I can’t believe it! A lot has happened this year, published my first book, I got married, have almost finished writing my sequel, The Veiled Threat is getting an audiobook so I’m holding auditions for that and so much more. It was bittersweet to say the least some extremely sweet moments like marrying my best friend and some insanely bitter like losing someone whose been in my life for the past 20 years. I had relationships evolve, begin, and end. And so as I’m getting ready to celebrate the new year and the new DECADE, I thought I’d post this little sum up for my New Years resolution this year. I’ve always been the kind of person to the expect the best out of people and if I’ve learned anything this year is that it’s not always possible for people to do that and the disappointment after takes forever to get over. So while this may sound weird this year I’m going to try to lower my expectations of people, let them rise or fall on their own and just be happy when they’re there and when they’re not? Don’t worry about it. Because I’m enough for me and I’m proud of everything I accomplished this year. I’m making this my year to become friends with myself again. I think this is going to be a damn good year and I can’t wait to see everything that happens for me, my career, my education, and my family. So I’ve been talking about this on my blog but since I started writing full time I’ve been trying to find a way to make time for my health. Working full time at a desk (even on weekends) to get my book published makes it hard to go to the gym. While I’ve been feeling positive about my upcoming book I haven’t felt very positive about my body which is why I figured if I can’t make time to leave home I might as well workout from home too and just start by eating better. I got a workout video on prime this is me after Jillian Michael’s kicked my ass but by the end I felt excited to do this tomorrow.
