Yes. I like Twilight. Kill me if you want to. I feel like people need to stop pooping on these movies. They're fine. They're silly but harmless. They're not amazing but they're a fun romantic time at the movies. If you don't like the movies then they're not for you. Just let them be. These are a little sappy. But don't blame the cast. They try their best to say these lines with honesty and a lack of corniness. That's hard to do. People wonder why Edward and Taylor would have such huge crushes on Bella, who's awkward and kinda boring and they hate that. But isn't Twilight supposed to be a unique take on romance? The girl of this relationship doesn't act like Rachel McAdams from The Notebook. Who cares? Edward's already weird to begin with the way he stares like a creeper at her all the time. Aren't they perfect for each other then?

Eclipse is without a doubt the best of the movies. The first in the series by Catherine Hardwicke is a beautiful and lush film to look at. I can't ever take my eyes off it whenever I watch it. The only problem is that the story goes nowhere. Nothing happens! But it's supposed to be like that. It's a setup for the saga. I admit Chris Weitz messed up the series a bit with New Moon. The movie has no style and is boring and dull to look at. The special effects are quite horrendous. The score is painfully over-classical to listen to. And the dialogue is very very corny. But is that such a crime? All the movie did was make its dialogue more faithful to the books. Don't blame the movie blame Stephenie Meyer. The problem overall with New Moon was that it rushed too fast. Twilight debuted in November 2008 and New Moon began production in January 2009. If you need to add CGI werewolves and special effects then that's too quick! You need more time!

Now David Slade (30 Days of Night, Hard Candy) handles the third sequel with a subtle relaxation. Eclipse is the best because it somehow doesn't try too hard. It's more relaxed. It's not too worried about being the epic movie of the year. The special effects still aren't Avatar amazing but they're an improvement. So is the cinematography, which is darker and equally effective as the cinematography in Twilight. The dialogue by screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg still isn't inspiring and "beautiful" but it's not as embarrassing to listen to. After all don't people love Titanic? Isn't that a hell of a lot sappier than Twilight?

I think this is the best too because I admittedly cared more for Bella and Edward. They're cute in this. They don't feel like a flashy, one-dimensional most-amazing-hottest-couple-ever. They feel the most normal. Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner are the most comfortable with their roles now. They don't feel awkward or uncomfortable anymore. For the first time Stewart and Pattinson do feel like a real couple. Lautner has really improved as well. I couldn't take the six-pack hunk seriously in New Moon because he's got such a baby face. But here he's got much more of a personality and he's quite funny.

You hate these movies or you love 'em. I don't think anyone's allowed to say that they're terrible movies because clearly they aren't because they're a worldwide success and have made a crapload of money (so yes even I can't say that Pirates of the Caribbean are terrible movies as well). I just think people need to ease their hatred against Twilight a bit. They're not perfect but they're a guilty pleasure teen romance story that doesn't need to be taken as seriously. Eclipse gets that and does a great job at improving the story.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn-Part 1 comes out this November and has a new director, Bill Condon (Dreamgirls). It's gonna be a big movie because SPOILER ALERT!!! Bella and Edward have sex and she gets pregnant and has a demon vampire baby and then she's turned into one. For a director that's a lot of stuff to be worried about. Let's just pray that Condon makes the movie the same way Slade did.
