TheStudy! Series Part Five: A Punch In The Face - Dean Archer x Reader
Tumblr media
Tagging: @kmc1989 @helsinkibaby @hufflepuffgirl @mimi-8793
The Study:
Part One: Courting Disaster - Dean realises Jack is courting you.
Part Two: Distance - Dean tries to discuss the distance between the two of you.
Part Three: Deserving - Jack tries to show you, you deserve better.
Part Four: Navy Shirt - You and Dean don't have secrets.
Tumblr media
Dean doesn’t want to admit that anger is part of the reason he broke 2.0, that he was thinking about the Jack Dayton’s mouth on yours when he’d lashed out at the billionaire’s pet project during the surgery he was undertaking.
Jack’s lucky he didn’t smash the whole damn machine to pieces.
He doesn’t hear a thing Jack says when he reams him out in the corridor afterwards, he just feels this rage, this furious wildfire building up inside of him.
It’s when he says your name that Dean snaps. The way he acts like he knows what’s best for you, that Dean’s the problem, not him.
“She deserves better than some luddite that can’t get with the program.” Jack snarls as he jabs his finger in Dean’s face. “Do you even think of your wife at all when you do shit like this or is she just another extension of your ego?”
He punches the other man straight in his mouth because all he’s been thinking about is you. How you’re going to cope with his illness. How he’s going to be leaving you alone far too soon.
The expression on Jack’s face when he touches his bloody lip.
It’s worth the aching fist and everything that comes after.
He’s fired immediately but Dean, he doesn’t care because his life is already slipping away. He’s staring down the barrel of an excruciating gun. He knows the likelihood of getting another kidney and it’s virtually zero. His case it’s complicated, even if he does get a match there are other factors involved. His only hope is Sean and he will never ask that of his son.
When you hear about what happened you try to call Jack but he refuses to answer. He doesn’t respond to your voice mails or texts so you show up in his office and you sit behind his desk, because you want him to know that he doesn’t hold all the power in this conversation, that you have power too.
“He got you good.” You say when he steps through the door and Jack stops dead at the sight of you, perched behind his desk, his silver Parker pen clasped between your fingers.
“Look, I don’t have time…” He says closing the door behind him.
“Make time.” You say raising to your feet and placing your palms flat upon the surface of the desk. “Because you are going to hear what I have to say.”
He checks his watch before he sighs and gestures to the two leather couches in front of an expensive glass coffee table. You know what he’s doing, he’s trying to reset the balance of power, offer you neutral ground. You take it because the first step in a negotiation is to always make the other person feel comfortable.
“I’m not giving him his job back.” He says as he sits down, his arm coming to rest on the back of the sofa before he touches his busted lip with his fingertips. “He’s lucky I’m not pressing charges.”
“I think we both know you deserved it.” You remind him and the look he gives you…
Hardball it is.
“You know I was warned about you before I undertook this study.” You say as you settle back into the seat and cross your legs, one over the other.
“Warned?” He repeats, his eyebrows furrowing into a deep frown.
“Jack Dayton is not a man who is used to hearing the word no.” You quote George, one of the other board members. “That is your reputation, the one you’ve build for yourself.”
“So you think that I’m vindictive?” He questions you, his fierce gaze meeting yours. “You think I’m firing him to punish you?”
The eye contact, it’s meant to cow you but it doesn’t. His body language, his attitude, this tactics. They’re all ways of manipulating people into doing his bidding. Jack’s used to people submitting to him, he expects it of you. The thing is you’re fighting for something important and you won’t leave here without because if Dean loses this job, he loses his insurance and without that, it’s not a matter of years or months, it’s weeks.
“Let me lay out the optics for you.” You begin because Jack he specialises in PR and he’s about to get a very clear picture of where this goes if he doesn’t do what you’re asking. “You kissed me last night and when I turned you down and told you I’m taking a step back from the study, you fired my husband, one of the best doctors you have working underneath you.”
“Your husband punched me in the fucking face.” He reminds you, gesturing to his split lip.
“Because you tried to steal his wife.” You tell him before leaning forward and clasping your hands together. “I don’t want to take this to the board but I will if you make me.”
He understands the implication, the reputation he’s built, yours, Dean’s. He knows exactly what it looks like, what he looks like. This will be a mess if he continues to push you, you aren’t afraid to fuck up his life. You think he sees that in you.
“Give my husband his job back.” You say firmly. “And I stop being a problem.”
Jack looks away, the line of his jaw clenching before he clears his throat and smooths down his tie.
“Fine.” He says finally, refusing to look at you. “You can tell Doctor Archer he’s cleared to come back to work.”
You don’t thank him because this, this shouldn’t have happened in the first place. You should never have been in this position and neither should Dean. It’s when you reach the door that he finally speaks, his head tilting towards you as your hand comes to rest on the door handle.
“I don’t think I need to tell you that you’re off the study.” He says and you rise your eyes to the ceiling because Jack, he just has to have the parting shot.
“I wouldn’t try this shit with Anita when she takes over.” You warn him as you pull open the door and step over the threshold. “Jimmy Lanik’s more likely to kill you in your sleep than punch you in the face.”

Studying at Higher Education Institutions in Poland as Seen by Students with Disabilities in the Context of the Geographical Model of Disability
DOI: https://doi.org/10.14746/quageo-2023-0040
The subject addressed in the present paper is important for the current social and educational policy regard-ing persons with disabilities. The development of the accessible education concept should be based on the geographicalmodel of disability, whose main principle is to focus on the varied social needs and adjust the conditions of the geo-graphical environment accordingly rather than to concentrate on the disability itself. The main aim of the study was torecognise the opinions of students with disabilities about studying at Polish higher education institutions (HEI). Thestudy was based on the results of online interviews including standardised questions (open- and close-ended). Thetime scope of the study covers the years 2019 and 2021. The research has shown that some students hide their disabilityuntil it is visible. As a result, they do not receive adequate support and limit the achievement of goals that were themain motivation for studying. Measures taken to support students with different needs at HEIs must have a systemic nature and be addressed to the entire academic community, as well as to the society.
Keywords: accessibility, persons with disabilities, models of disability, higher education institutions

Vastu Shastra Tips-40 Vastu Shastra Tips for Home For Better Life & Prosperity Part-I
40 Vastu Shastra Tips for Home: Enhance Your Life and Prosperity
Introduction:
Vastu Shastra, the ancient Indian Science of Architecture, holds immense significance in our lives. Understanding the true essence of Vastu Shastra and its importance can lead to a better life filled with prosperity. In this article, we will explore 40 valuable Vastu Shastra tips that can positively impact your home and overall well-being.
Why Is Vastu Shastra Important?
Vastu Shastra, the science of architecture, reveals that everything in the universe possesses energy, and every building or land has a unique vibrational energy associated with it. By aligning with the principles of Vastu, we can eliminate negative energy and enhance the positive energy surrounding us. Embracing Vastu Shastra brings forth various benefits, including financial prosperity, career stability, academic growth, improved relationships, and enhanced physical and mental health.
Elements and Their Dominant Directions:
Vastu Shastra recognizes five fundamental elements in the universe: Earth, Air, Space, Fire, and Water. These elements play a crucial role in attracting positive energy into our homes. Each element has a dominant direction, as follows:
Earth (Prithvi): Symbolizing stability and patience, Earth dominates the center and diagonal directions in every corner of your home.
Air (Vayu): Bringing fun and happiness into our lives, Air dominates the East direction.
Space (Akasha): Representing cognitive energy and mental space, Space influences all forms of social energies and dominates the West direction.
Fire (Agni): The energy of fire signifies confidence, wealth, and success. Fire dominates the South direction.
Water (Jal): Water, essential for human life, is associated with immunity and health. It dominates the North direction.
Vastu Tips for Financial Prosperity at Home:
1)Keep the main door clean and decorated, as it serves as the entry point for positive energy and wealth.
2)Consider painting the walls of your house in the color purple, which symbolizes wealth. Alternatively, place a money plant in a purple-colored pot if repainting is not feasible.
3)Position the cash locker or almirah in the South or South-West wall of your home, opening towards the North.
4)Place a mirror in front of the cash locker to attract wealth and symbolize abundance.
5)Water bodies, such as a small fountain or water garden, placed in the North-Eastern part of your home, signify the flow of constructive energy.
6)Repair any leaky faucets, taps, or faulty plumbing to prevent financial losses.
7)Install a bird feeder in the North-Western part of your house to attract money and financial stability.
8)Enhance the purity of your home by placing an aquarium in the North-Eastern part, ensuring proper aeration and cleanliness.
9)Maintain a free flow of air in your home and encourage the flow of wealth by placing wind chimes at the entrances.
10)Place a picture or idol of Goddess Lakshmi near the entrance to invite financial gains.
11)To ward off financial troubles, keep a flute in your house. Hanging two flutes can be particularly beneficial for those facing difficulties in education or career.
Vastu Tips for Academic Growth:
12). For better concentration, position the study table in the East or North direction of the room.
13)Leave space between the wall and the study table to ensure a smooth flow of energy.
14)Avoid locating the study room below a bathroom or a beam.
15)Place the bookshelf in the East, North, or North-East direction. Avoid any reflections of books in mirrors, as it may increase study pressure.
16)Illuminate thestudy table with a well-lit lamp placed on the South-East corner. This energizes the luck in education and promotes better academic performance.
Vastu Tips for Good Health:
17). Ensure a sound sleep by positioning your head towards the South while sleeping.
18)Leave the center of the house empty or with light furniture to allow for the free flow of energy without any obstruction.
19)Balancing the fire element is essential for maintaining good health. Place fire elements like candles, diyas, or a fireplace in the Southeast or Northwest direction of your home.
20)Avoid placing mirrors directly opposite the bed, as they can drain energy and lead to health issues.

TheStudy! Series Part Three: Deserving - Dean Archer x Reader
Tumblr media
Tagging: @kmc1989 @helsinkibaby @hufflepuffgirl @mimi-8793
The Study:
Part One: Courting Disaster - Dean realises Jack is courting you.
Part Two: Distance - Dean tries to discuss the distance between the two of you.
Tumblr media
At events like the drinks reception with the Board, you’re a show pony. Someone to parade around who can talk the talk and walk the walk.
You’re the Crockett Marcel of the Medical Examiners Service, Jack Dayton’s newest project.
You hate every second of it but the study it’s important, it’s making a real difference in people’s lives. You’ve seen what happens when people don’t get the closure they need, they end up on your table, just like their loved ones before them.
It’s past eleven by the time the reception begins to wind down, you’re tired emotionally, physically. You miss the evenings where you could curl up with Dean on the couch, dressed in nothing but his old Navy t-shirt as his fingers combed lightly through your hair.
You miss your husband a lot actually, the emotional intimacy, the physical aspect. It feels like you’ve barely been in his presence at all over the last few months. You know that’s down to you, this study and everything that comes with it. It steals away your time, your energy and if you let it, it’ll steal away your marriage..
“I’m starting to feel more like your roommate than your husband and I think that’s something we need to talk about.”
He isn’t wrong, he’s supported you throughout the duration of this study and you can barely spare him five minutes. You can’t imagine how much that must hurt because Dean, he’s always made time for you.
You’re staring out of the window when Jack approaches you. The other board members have filtered out of the conference room, there’s just the two of you standing in the dim lighting, surveying the twinkling skyline.
“I need to take a step back.” You say quietly. “Slow down a little, all of this it’s too much.”
“Too much for you or too much for Dean?” He asks and you can hear the distain in his voice.
“For the both of us.” You assert firmly because it’s not just your marriage on the line. It’s your mental health too, your facing burnout. You can feel yourself hurtling towards it because the workload, it’s too much. “I have someone who can help pick up the slack. Her name is Anita Lanik, I can go through her details with you tomorrow. She used to work with social services. She specialised in palliative care advocating for the elderly so she has experience and insight into the challenges we’re facing.”
There’s silence for a moment and in the reflection of the window you see Jack’s jaw clench.
“I don’t understand why you’re with him.” Jack says quietly as he tilts his head towards you. “All he does is hold you back.”
You can understand Jack’s point of view. He envisions himself as a white knight, plucking you from obscurity, elevating you. To him Dean is just a weight around you’re neck, preventing you from putting in more hours, more of your life into the program.
“You don’t know him, you don’t know us.” You chide because honestly you’re getting tired of the way he needles Dean. It’s clear that there’s resentment there, your just not sure where it stems from.
“I know you.” Jack tells you. “I know you deserve better.”
“Jack…” You say but his fingertips are already clasping your chin, guiding your gaze to meet his.
“I can give you better.” He tells you, his thumb trailing over the apple of your cheek. “Let me give you better.”
He kisses you then. It’s confident, forceful, the kiss of a man who  has never been denied a single thing. You pull away and Jack smiles, you place a palm on his chest lightly pushing him away because now you know what this resentment is about, why he despises Dean.
“I’m going home to my husband.” You tell him, picking up your clutch and heading towards the door. “I’ll send you Anita’s details in the morning.”
