Missing York and all its cafés! I should have gone back to uni a week ago, but instead were doing everything online. It's being handled really well, but it's just not the same as the real thing! How are you coping with online classes, if you have them? ☕💛

Black Lives Matter: A (By No Means Complete) Reading List
Tumblr media
“Books are a form of political action. Books are knowledge. Books are a reflection. Books change your mind.” - Toni Morrison
It has always been, and always will be, vital to educate ourselves on the world around us. In response to the Black Lives Matter movement, I hope that this blog can become a platform for sharing resources on black history and literature, in a conscious effort to educate both ourselves and those around us. It is our duty to continue to amplify the voices of people of colour, because it is through education that we can make lasting changes in the world.
Here you will find a list of books and essays by authors of colour, and which speak about the experiences of people of colour everywhere. By committing to read even one of these books, you are expanding your consciousness of the lives around you, and giving people of colour a voice.

Thinking about pre-social distancing when I was able to read outside! I sure do miss exploring my city, but I'm so grateful to be safe at home. I hope you're safe and happy, wherever you are right now. 🌿🌞

2nd April 2020 - I've been happily busy the past few days, which has definitely made staying inside easier to cope with! What with writing blog posts, chatting with friends, and reading, the days are going by quickly.

I've recently moved back to York for the year! Feeling super grateful for my city, my friends and my plants.
I'm sending all my love to those who are starting school/uni/work at this time! I hope you find moments of joy in the strangeness.

A snapshot of my reading list... One of my goals for this period of lockdown is to tackle that pile of unread books I've been avoiding for so long! I've finally got the time to do it.

Hard to believe that this time last year I was reading on the beach in Denmark! This year, I'm staying safe at home with my memories for company. I know that Denmark is waiting for me until I can go back 🦋🌿

How is it a week until I go back to uni??? The time has gone so fast! It feels like I've barely said hello to my friends until we have to say goodbye again. But overall I'm feeling grateful for the good times I've had at home, and ready for the next adventure.
