Thanks for that reminder, sometimes teachers were so damn mean for no reason.

It wasn't like Elena flunked becuase she was bad at school. She had been in the H O S P I T A L

So yes, Elena was going to be a junior again next year, while all of her friends were going to be seniors.

She had JUST turned eighteen even..

It wasn't fair, but it was what it was, and being pissy about it didn't make the english assignment in front of her any easier. At least she'd get credit for the classes she DID pass. Not all of the teachers were as mean unnessisarily as the HISTORY teacher.

She hasn’t seen her sister in what seems like ages. Wait, Lizzie hadn’t seen her sister since she became a heretic to be honest and she misses her other half. it just wasn’t the same and knowing maybe this is what they needed. Although now their mother is headmistress of the boarding school it just feels weird not having Josie here with them. The heretic opened the door of her room to go inside when she spotted her sister there. “Josie? Is this real or are my eyes deceiving me. You bitch, you didn’t told me you were coming on the phone the other night?”

life after loss is a difficult topic for elijah. he knows that there definitely is life after loss and that the pain will fade. regarding that matter, elijah is quite gifted in motivating and comforting others but he doesn't handle the topic well for himself.

when it comes to his own feelings, elijah is a very emotionally hardened character and has difficulty at times handling and accepting certain emotions. he turns sadness and pain into revenge, and although he believes in love, he rarely finds it or develops romantic feelings because he is so damaged by loss that he deprives himself of any kind of love or attachment aside from his siblings that are very much immortal and indestructible (and therefore unlikely to lose).

the main side-effects that are always connected to loss are guilt and blame. elijah almost always blames himself for what has happened. if he had been more attentive he/she could still be alive; if he had protected him/her, he/she could still be alive, if he hadn't loved him/her, he/she wouldn't be dead.

aside from his family, nothing and no one who was loved by elijah survives. he is painfully aware that he's always the (in-)direct reason for their death and he believes that anyone is better off without him - at least their chances to stay alive are better if he isn't involved in their lives.

my elijah doesn't (consciously) know that he killed tatia but it took a long time until he got over her death. he blamed himself that he hadn't protected her from his mother's intention. he blamed himself for not protecting the woman he loved. and he absolutely loathed himself that it was her blood that he had unknowingly consumed in the wine their parents had given them on the night they turned into vampires.

his subconsciousness is of course aware of what had truly happened to tatia but it disturbed elijah so much that it's imprisoned in the back of his mind.

i believe something similar happened regarding katherine. i'm still not sure if elijah harbored any feelings for her in 1492 or if it was just the beginning of a strong affection but if he had behaved differently, the outcome would have been different. if klaus hadn't become suspicious of him, he might have been able to save her (with the vial he had made by witches).

then there was celeste who was killed by klaus out of spite. the same happened (in canon) with gia who was forced to burn in sunlight in front of elijah's eyes.

most of them could have been alive if he hadn't existed. and that's something he always keeps in mind.

elijah believed for several decades that klaus had thrown their siblings into the ocean which made him extremely revengeful and he was even about to kill klaus for that. if he had followed through with his plan, elijah would have fallen into a lethargic state once the anger and hate had faded.

my elijah also lost his niece as he chose to leave due to the ongoing aggression coming from klaus in season 1. the only thing that encouraged him was the hope that he could meet his niece someday and that rebekah updated him on her life.

so yes, elijah doesn’t deal well with loss although he eventually overcome it.

            SHE’D NEVER been one to go to conferences. Or at least, she always tried to get out of it. This time, the blonde however couldn’t. The double certified surgeon, who had studied one of the hardest areas and basically learned it overnight, had been informed her presence were required, whether she wanted to be or not. So, the blonde had gone to LA, leaving her wife and child at home. The duo promising to meet up with her after the conference, they had to go to disneyland after all. But what, Arizona didn’t expect to find, is a familiar redhead standing in the foyer. Walking towards her, the blonde smiled “Well, if it isn’t the woman that I will hold dearly in my heart forever. For saving my wife AFTER ALL.”

Hearing those words coming from his little sister’s lips, it was very disconcerting indeed, as his concern and worried fill blue eyes stared at Vera. His elder twin sister had warned him this may happen as she, too, tried to help their sister with no success. So it was his turn. Ali had told him that she wouldn’t call their father unless its absolutely necessary, and quite frankly, he agreed as their father is far too concern obsessed with a certain doppelgänger than his own children’s problem.

“What makes you think that I won’t be able to help, Vee?” Dominic asked softly, hoping that his psychology degree may come in handy, though he wished he wouldn’t use it on his own sister. “Come on, tell your big brother what’s going on. Did someone hurt you? Do I need to kill them?”

It was nice to have her mother nearby again. Just having here at the school, it just felt right. Yet it was a day that Lizzie was actually too lazy to go to classes which she decided to skip on and stay in bed. What would be the odds that her mother would find out, which was really a stupid thing to think about. Long live vamp hearing. “Five more minutes.” Lizzie mumbled as she really didn’t wanted to get out of bed, it was way too comfortable.

to answer this question, it is important to understand that elijah grew up with the knowledge to abhor and fear werewolves. not because he met one when he was human but because of what mikael taught them and what he has heard and seen. beasts that slaughtered humans on fullmoons, dismembered bodies, and of course the torn and bled-out body of his youngest brother henrik. human elijah was intimidated and scared by them and took the warnings seriously (unlike klaus and henrik). i believe that whenever someone went missing, the men of his village went looking for the missing person and when he came of age, elijah was part of this group. even before the accident with henrik happened, elijah had seen what the werewolves did to people. so when it turned out that klaus was part wolf, elijah was utterly shocked. elijah had never seen someone turn or the golden eyes of a wolf. the fear of the wolves but also what it did to klaus paralyzed him, so he did what mikael told him although klaus begged him to not help him. i assume that at that moment, elijah thought he'd help klaus. he would have never done anything that would have hurt his brother but at this moment he was too overstrained, too fearful of mikael, and too scared of what was happening to klaus that he would have questioned it. something elijah absolutely and deeply regretted later on. he later understood his mistake and supported klaus in his search for breaking the curse. it was both elijah and klaus that forged and spread the legend of the sun-and-moon curse. and yes, elijah would not have helped katerina to run although he deplored having to do this to her. he would have sacrificed her in order for klaus to free his wolf side (although he would have hoped that his deal with the witches worked out and she'll wake up). when klaus finally did break the curse, elijah was utterly supportive of him and cleaned up after him (even bringing him his clothes). despite klaus' beliefs that his family sees him as an abomination, it certainly is not the fact with elijah. klaus being a hybrid doesn't change anything in elijah's eyes, although he's not pleased that klaus uses his fatal venom to punish him if he sees so fit (it happened twice in the originals - one time klaus healed him, one time he let him suffer). however, elijah is not fond of other hybrids. on the one hand, he finds them incredibly arrogant (and elijah is allergic to arrogant young vampires or hybrids). on the other hand, he feels like their existence isn't right because a) it appears that they are even more violent than young vampires, b) they are stripped of their free will by the sire bond that always naturally exists and c) because of the fact one needs to harvest doppelgänger blood. he understands why klaus wants to be surrounded by them and he understands that klaus yearns for people that are like him but in general, elijah is quite relieved that there are no hybrids anymore after klaus killed them. albeit, it should be noted that his general opinion about hybrids doesn't apply to hayley. he is thankful that becoming a hybrid had been an option for hayley.
