oh god where to even start off with this bc first of all, fuck jk.r!!  but, honestly, i don’t think there’s much i like about how ginny is portrayed in canon.  

she’s basically known throughout the books by how she’s tied to men—from her brothers (which makes some sense), dean thomas, michael corner, harry.  even though the books and movies are pretty much through harry’s pov, i don’t like that the thing she’s kind of known for first is having a crush on harry.  yes, i know she’s seen first at  the train station in the first book and more just hoping to go with, but it’s not really what she’s known for. 

second, i hate how both her and hermione come to hogwarts seeming like they’ve never had a friend in their life.  ginny grew up near the diggorys and lovegoods and also had all her brothers.  i like to imagine she was friends with luna before going to school and everyone annoyingly calling her loony.

ginny definitely trusts easily!!  she trusted tom riddle’s diary so easily.  she told him all her secrets.  her crushes.  her frustrations with her family.  her hopes of being a professional quidditch player and he manipulated her.  it breaks my heart.  but, what i do love, is that even though she’s definitely more wary now, she still wants to believe in the best in people and when she trusts someone, she puts all her faith in them.  younger sibling with good older siblings vibes!!

as for the second part of this ask, when you lose her trust, it is very hard to get it back.  she definitely has her mother’s temper.  she might yell at you.  she might ice you out, it depends how bad it is.  bc, a la this ask, if it’s a true, big betrayal, she shuts down.  the only thing you can do to earn it back is to just stick around and slowly prove yourself again through little moments.
