First post ever of all time but the Elucien brain rot be strong, so I present to you:

Things I Need From the Next ACOTAR Book™️

- Lucien making Elain laugh. Book 1 Lucien coming out again to play but getting so flustered that he screws up every time because he’s lovestruck, but he’s Doing His Best.

- Lucien going out drinking with Mor and Cassian, come home WASTED, try to “sneak back in” with them late in the evening.

- But the three end up running into shit and making more noise.

- “Shhhh Cassian, your stomping is loud enough to wake the dead!” Mor says before she turns back to look where she’s going and suddenly bumps into a table, knocking over a vase of flowers and smashing it.

- Cassian apologising to the inanimate object. Gratuitously.

- Lucien running into Cassian’s back with a loud “Oof!” as he stops very suddenly to apologise to said object.

- This creates a domino effect: Cassian losing his balance and falling on top of Mor, Lucien not being able to right himself and so ends on top of the both of them.

- RIP.

- The three of them HOWLING with laughter, drunkenly shushing each other as they struggle to stand up, but Mor’s dress is stuck under Lucien’s foot and Lucien’s hair is stuck in one of Cassian’s buckles and they fail multiple times, laughing louder and louder with each attempt.

- Elain comes down to see what the racket is and regards the situation like 🤨

- Lucien spots her and resorts to book 1 Lucien flirt tactics (at this point they’d have to be at a tentatively friendly level, civil, getting to know each other).

- But he COMPLETELY FUCKS IT UP.

- Just

- Drunkenly stands up, wobbling, and bows, deep enough to nearly lose his balance again.

- “Ladyyyyy, what’s a beautiful place like you doing in a girl like this?” While he goes to lean on the nearby table and just COMPLETELY MISSES AND FALLS FACE FIRST ONTO THE FLOOR.

- Like full face plant. Brutal.

- Mor is gasping for air and Cassian is wiping tears of mirth.

- “Smooth, fox boy!”

- He’s HUMILIATED, groaning in pain while his friends laugh and he’s made a fool out of himself for the millionth time in front of Elain and he just wants the ground to open up and swallow him whole.

- But then Elain explodes into a fit of giggles and he looks up and falls for her all over again.

- It’s like the first time he saw her: her beautiful face is lit up with a genuine, completely unreserved smile that reaches her eyes and his heart aches.

- “Oh, Lucien…” she giggles from behind her hand, the affection in her voice making his heart sing.

- “Let’s go get you cleaned up and into bed.” she offers him her hand and he takes it, the not-so-quiet whisper “ooo get em, tiger” from Mor and the wolf whistle from Cass making him flush furiously.

- He goes to retort but spies a small smirk on Elain’s lips which makes his eyebrows nearly shoot off his face.

- Blood trickles from his nose. Elain takes out a handkerchief and he swears he must have died in that fall and gone to the afterlife as she holds it up to his face to try to staunch the flow.

- He’s gazing at her, lovestruck, and she’s still giggling, amusement twinkling in her eyes as she reminds him:

- “Can’t you heal things, Lucien?”

- He freezes. He’s an idiot.

- He’s so drunk and blinded by Elain’s beauty that he forgot he could Fix The Thing™️.

- He manages to heal himself - going crosseyed as he tries to look at what he’s healing, eliciting more laughter from everyone - but sways on his feet a little, and Elain immediately steadies him.

- But he still bends over and picks up one of the flowers from the broken vase and he offers it to her.

- “Can I help you garden tomorrow? I have some tulips we can put togeth- wait no, dammit, Lucien, that’s not how it goes!”

- Elain laughing harder as she loops her arm through his, helping him to his room.

- Elain tucking him in. He was very near to passing out by the time they get to the bed.

- “Are you sure you’re not actually an angel?”

- A snort, “I’m not as angelic as my sisters make me out to be. Now here, drink this.”

- She hands him a glass bottle. She must have picked it up along the way? He doesn’t care. It’s a gift from Elain.

- He smirks. Time to play for real 🦊

- “You do know the consequences of offering one’s mate something consumab-”

- “Just drink the damn tonic, Lucien. I’m aware. It’s not food and I didn’t make it.”

- He whistles, “Didn’t know the Lady could swear.”

- A glare.

- “Fine, fine…”

- He swallows it down and regrets it immediately, the bitter taste almost making him gag.

- “Oh, you’re right, I take it right back. Wicked woman. Evil. A menace.”

- “You’ll thank me in the morning when your head isn’t exploding.”

- “Why would you do such a thing to a sickly man?”

- “You’re impossible.”

- A wink, “And you’re beautiful.”

- “Go to sleep, Lucien.”

- “Fine. But because I want to, not because you told me to.”

- He falls asleep to the sound of soft giggling.

- He thinks the busted nose and incredible hangover is worth it just to see her smile at him at breakfast the next day, the flower he gave her weaves into her hair.

- Just… Lucien unintentionally making Elain laugh 🦊 🌸

- ….and Cass and Mor NEVER letting him live that night down.

Also Elain and Lucien going on a Tangled inspired adventure together to try and find a way to break the mating bond only to fall in love along the way when?

Want to start off by saying that I love your mind! I was hoping to get your opinion on: what is it in jackunzel that makes it feel so right?

ngl i found this challenging cus it made me think of how the answer would vary per person (yeah i went there idk why sdjkknds) so lemme get logical for a sec here haha

what exactly is the definition of “feel right”? 

to make someone feel relaxed and comfortable, as merriam-webster states

simple as that, right? but wait there’s more

what makes something/someone go under that category? 

now from there it expands because there are so many ways of answering that with everyone having different opinions and mindsets.

fair warning before we push on, this is going to get messy (like a word vomit) with how i’m just going to pour out everything i can think off, but just know i really like this question hence the, uh, mess? lmao

so back to your question, what is it in jackunzel that makes it feel so right?

in one POV, it could be because of how rapunzel and jack represent the sun and the moon respectively, making them two contrasting sides who shouldn’t collide and yet, against all odds and opposing forces that would come between them, they did. 

and we can bet on the fact that they fought hard/struggled for it, depending on how fanfic writers play with it (reminds of this sun/moon au that sold me to this trope lmao).

just because others said it’s impossible or it’s against whatever, why should they listen to the “norm?” what even is considered “normal,” when the two can explore so much more of what they could be missing from life after stepping out of others’ shadows?

i just love sun/moon dynamics. i’m obsessed lmao i read the ones below somewhere and idk where but it’s been living in my head rent free and i can’t escape it tho feel free to correct me about any of these symbol topic!

like the Sun, thoughtful and full of energy to share with everyone, is connected with one’s self and known to, yeah, radiate warmth or light. it also symbolizes firmness, strength and power. oh and life too i guess?

while the Moon, subtle but full of mysteries and wonders, can also get emotional and sway others to be more nurturing. cus like it also symbolizes calmness, beauty, and nurture. plus eternity and enlightenment?

the list goes on if we head into more of what it both symbolize, but when these two celestial bodies get together, masculine and feminine energies unite. the Sun gives out life, while the Moon cultivates it.

i have no idea where i’m going but moving on

maybe it’s that taste of rebellion with going against the authorities/society/rules/of what has always been set to find out who they’re meant to be or, y’know, finding their identity without the shackles of others (like jack learning he has the potential to be a guardian and embracing it in his own time, and rapunzel realizing she’s the lost princess and works hard to be a good one), 

or there’s something about the mystery that follows the other because they’ve never met anyone quite like them (like exploring a world they’ve never set foot on), 

or finding all the good and bad in each other and in their differences, but still loving the other for who they are, 

or what one lacks the other makes up for it and vice versa. with or without them realizing they can help each other grow to be a better version of themselves.

opposites attract who are bound to be full of surprises.

but on the contrary, they could also be two peas of a pod. aight this definitely goes against what i said above with all the opposites and stuff, but hear me out.

while they grew up and learned how to cope with life differently, they somehow still share the same sentiments when it comes to, for example, reaching their goals. 

they have their own way to go about it, sure, but my point is they can reach a common ground better together compared when they’re with others.

like rapunzel with the lanterns, and jack with his memories. at first, one hesitated and wavered, while the other disagreed and pulled away. it was only after they saw a chance/realized this was it that they agreed in a heartbeat

they ultimately made the choice of diving in head first regardless of their initial thoughts in the first place. kinda like the moment they realized they can be a step closer to what they’ve been yearning for their whole life 

bam, out of the way, they’re coming through lmao

not only that, but they can also be soft, gentle, understanding despite rapunzel’s spontaneuosness and jack’s mischievousness. we’ve seen them interacting with children and they’re so good at lifting their spirits up to have some fun and that there will always be a tomorrow.

and with their peers too. rapunzel lights up even the darkest of rooms, may it be like fireworks to bring joy or a campfire to warm one’s heart. jack meanwhile keeps things light when everyone else feels tense, easing others to relax and remember there’s always a way out

don’t forget the way they both sacrifice themselves for who they care for. like, they just do that, putting others first before them. that scene of saving eugene and baby tooth aaahhhhdjhdskdjkbkfjdkjf

and when everything comes crashing down and the world feels heavy on their shoulders, they both know they’re not alone with the other there for them.

maybe it’s the mutual understanding they have for each other after opening up, and finding a friend/partner/home through the connection they made together,

or they could be a push and pull that leads them to showing an unexpected side of the other, but in reality they always had it in them and all they needed was someone to show the way,

or how they complement each other, but they’re not two halves of a whole, no, rather they’re already whole themselves and they only reminded each other that they are,

or it’s simply because they don’t feel the need to put up walls or anything of the likes, because they know that no matter what they’ll be accepted for who they are.

opposites who have so much more in common than they originally thought

in another POV it could be because of how they give such partners in crime vibe. lowkey or highkey, take your pick. nothing would stop them from moving forward to a new tomorrow, or honestly whatever it is they put their minds to. 

and i am here for that

like i said in one of my posts, “They were a magnet for trouble, with the Sun being a free-spirited and vivacious fellow, and with the Moon’s knack for mischief and being a rebel without cause.” 

while both are adventurous, ready to explore whatever is out there, all the while just wanting to have some fun, they still balance each other out.

with jack usually ready to do what he needs/wants to do (which helps rapunzel to trust her gut and take the risk. that he’ll be there for her whenever she’s ready to step out of her comfort zone and jump away from her tower)

and with rapunzel knowing how to handle sticky situations properly (which reminds jack that not everything has to be done harshly and abruptly. that while freezing someone could be fun, it won’t solve things in the long run)

am i making sense? idek but you’re stuck with me lol but before i forget and i can’t believe i just remembered now. the way they can help fill in on what the other is missing 

rapunzel wants to see the world, what goes out there, with the people, society, and history i feel. and jack can take her to wherever she wants to go. hell, he’ll even surprise her and bring her to places he’d think she’ll like.

with his experiences, he’s bound to have an endless list of plans for them to go through and it’s no surprise that she’ll love it, and (him) his gesture, nonetheless

jack wants to be noticed by others, to be seen and heard for who he is. and rapunzel is such a welcoming person that she accepts him wholeheartedly. give him the love he was deprived of for years. 

reassure him that even he has a place to call home because why would he be excluded from that? he deserves it just as much as she and everyone else does

also i like to think they brainstorm ideas together

maybe it’s how they’re both game for an adventure, sudden or not, and this makes it easy for them to team up together and take on the world

or the feeling of familiarity as they click and everything flows naturally to them, where nothing is forced or uncomfortable between them

or how it’s like they can hold on to each other, knowing the other won’t let go no matter what because they’ll always have each other through the ups and downs

or it’s in their shared smiles, mischievous sparks in their eyes, moving together to the music of their synchronized heartbeats, as they step forward to the vast unknown

finding the ‘one’ who understands them inside out that they feel at home with them

i’ve said so many things and threw out so many brain rot, but what exactly is my final answer? 

it’s simple: who knows? now before you toss me aside, and i hope not lmao, lemme just say even with that kind of final verdict, you can still find beauty in it. 

you see, there’s so much more to explore and delve into with jackunzel because of their potential, that i don’t want to make a set answer for your question. i’d rather much help you, and anyone else wondering, to come to an answer yourself and maybe even share/discuss it with others.

More Tangled Thoughts: New Dream Kids Edition

ok so first things first: I am still working on a fic that incorporates the prompts I got a while ago on another post about the new dream kids, it’s just hard to write a scavenger hunt lmao

also, these are my headcanons about Rapunzel and Eugene’s kids: I will be using the names I came up with for them as well as just the ideas I have about them. If you don’t agree with any of it- great! If you agree with them- great! I love seeing everyone’s interpretations of these characters and what i have to say is not the end all be all (obviously) 

ok gonna put a cut here bc idk how long this will get

ok so i think basically everyone agrees that the new dream kids are twins so like....they’re twins that hasn’t changed

The names i randomly chose for them are Emmeline and Callan, (i like being able to give characters nicknames-theirs are Emmie and Cal) but i was thinking and after seeing people headcannoning that Rapunzel wasn’t her original name (similar to Eugene’s being Horace) i was like...hmmm

so I decided Rapunzel’s name was initially Emilia, named after some relative Emmeline and then...boom full circle her daughter is named Emmeline

I have absolutely no explanation for Callan’s name i just thought it sounded like it would work for the tangled universe

ok now into personalities

I was thinking Callan would maybe be quieter, but maybe not in a ‘doesn’t speak’ sort of way??

like Emmeline doesn’t take any shit and she’s very vocal but Callan is just more reserved

but when they’re together all bets are off and they wreak HAVOC like the guards thought they had their hands full with Eugene when he was Flynn Rider but now there’s the kids of him and Princess Rapunzel (aka another person you really can’t tie down) and it’s like being sneaky is in their genes

also Eugene (and Kiera and Catalina) probably teaches them some sneaky tricks but like...on the down low. Rapunzel isn’t thrilled when she learns about this but like she also finds it hilarious and in reality doesn’t mind bc the twins are using it to sneak a cupcake or two, not steal a crown

Emmeline takes more after Eugene and Callan takes more after Rapunzel, but both LOVE painting on the walls of their rooms

Emmeline dreams of being a guard and doesn’t love the idea of being fully in charge of running a kingdom. Callan wants to be a great artist like his mother and isn’t necessarily scared of the possibility of being king one day

Later in their lives, this kind of turns into Callan actually becoming King of Corona while Emmeline marries a princess from another kingdom and is Queen there- she’s super happy about that bc she doesn’t want all of the pressure being The Head of a kingdom comes with, she’s like the second in command kind of thing and most likely becomes very involved with that kingdom’s guard

so yea they’re both not straight. probably bi but yea. Callan might be ace or aro or both idk 

but i LOVE the idea of a prince coming from another kingdom and both of the twins have a crush on him. I think i made a post about this before but i should really write a fic of this 

The twins absolutely LOVE Max and Max LOVES the twins. Obviously he’s at the very end of his life (bc he’s a horse) when the twins are old enough to interact with him and he probably dies before they’re 10

both twins are known to speak their minds but especially Emmeline

she learned very quickly that she needs to filter her thoughts during diplomatic events and put on a face (another reason she absolutely dreads the idea of being Corona’s Queen) but can still get away with snide remarks to Callan....sometimes

the Prince of Corona has been known to laugh so hard during events that water comes out of his nose. Eyewitnesses say the Princess sitting next to him always looks very pleased with herself when this happens

the twins love making each other laugh. they have a great sibling relationship but obviously do fight sometimes bc that’s just how siblings be

I know i’ve been describing Emmeline as like...kind of rigid but she is also soft and has ‘classic princess qualities’ i hate how that sounds but idk how else to put it

basically Emmeline can and will fuck you up or mess with you but she LOVES getting an excuse to dress up and attend balls and similar events (may or may not have to do with her big fat crush on the princess from Bayangor) 

Callan enjoys his more comfy, non-princely-duties clothes but also loves dressing up for events

the twins ADORE their family. Uncle Lance tells amazing stories (almost as good as their father’s stories and that’s saying a l o t), their cousins Kiera and Catalina are the best babysitters (bc they let them sneak around and ride dessert carts through the halls), Uncle Varian is always doing the coolest things and makes the best hot chocolate in all of Corona, and their grandmother and grandfathers just absolutely spoil them bc they didn’t get to be a part of their own kid’s childhoods bc they love their grandkids sm

Callan, especially when he was a toddler, ALWAYS finds himself in someone’s arms. that kid LOVES being held and everyone knows this

even though he doesn’t compete in it, Callan always enjoys Contest of the Crowns bc he is his sister’s number 1 supporter, even if they’re mad at each other

Emmeline’s favorite holiday is the Goodwill Festival. She absolutely loves the gopher (she finds that animal absolutely adorable) and just all around enjoys the happiness and good feelings that radiate through the kingdom during it

They do know Cass, but not super well. They first meet her when they’re like maybe 3 or 4 and visits are fairly sporadic and few and far between, but they do love their Aunt Cass (i feel like she has Aunt Willow vibes- ie, travels a lot but makes time every now and then to visit)

Emmeline and Callan are probably the only kids in all of Corona who just call Monty ‘Monty’ and not ‘Uncle Monty’. Monty loves them, they love Monty, and both he and Rapunzel put aside their friendly rivalry when it comes to the kids, but for some reason the twins just never ended up adding the ‘uncle’ to his name (Rapunzel does not mind. Eugene thinks she’s almost smug about it)

the twins are obsessed with the stories Rapunzel and Eugene tell them. The story of how they met is one of their favorites. it’s been told to them for as long as they can remember, but they only learned the full story sometime when they were in between the ages of 10 and 13. That night they slept in their parents room.

Lance is the one who tells the twins about Eugene’s Flynn Rider days, but doesn’t mention the Flynn Rider in his stories is their father. The twins are confused by this bc Eugene reads them the actual Flynn Rider books (which they love) and when they ask Eugene about it (”Uncle Lance told us you would know!”) they don’t initially believe him when he comes clean to having been the thief. It takes Rapunzel and quite a few wanted posters (”that’s obviously not you- the nose isn’t right!” “THANK YOU!”) to convince them otherwise. 

ok this is getting really long so i think i’ll stop there. honestly, im not expecting anyone to read this fully bc of how long it is and it’s just me rambling again, but if you did, thank you! i really appreciate it! I’ve gotten addicted to sharing my thoughts in this manner so like...this is most likely not the last time i do this lol. also i didn’t proofread this bc frankly i dont care
