Obikin College Au - RA/Don! Obi-Wan/First Year! Anakin - Part Three

Honestly, at this point I should probably just start writing it, but I keep thinking of little ideas for this au and want to keep track of them, so I present to you: Part Three 😈

At this point, they are becoming inseparable - Ahsoka would say insufferable. Both are applicable.

Whenever Anakin has errands to run, he texts Obi-Wan to come with him. Obi-Wan has started to do the same. Now most of their outings involve running errands for each of them.

Anakin: u free? I gotta hit Walmart and get supplies for my project.

Obi-Wan: yeah I’m free. Think u could get it from staples at the mall instead?

Obi-Wan: I wanna go to Sephora and Hot Topic. Need eyeliner and I wanna look at band shirts.

Anakin: omfg 🙄

Anakin: jk jk that sounds perfect! Meet outside subway station in ten?

Obi-Wan: sounds good!

And then they meet in front of the subway station like they planned.

They both bring earbuds to the subway, so really they could listen to their own music, but they never do. Instead they share a pair and sit huddled up together, taking turns picking songs.

They can both be kind of pretentious with music, so they work well together. Despite their differences, they impress each other with their knowledge and love of the same music.

“Anakin, Wings is leagues better than Plastic Ono Band, and anyone who doesn’t think so is just stupid.”

“Oh, McCartney is just bubblegum pop and we both know it, Obi. At least Lennon had substance.”

“Substance abuse issues, maybe.”

“Can we at least agree that Harrison’s work is significantly underrated?”

“Oh definitely. All Things Must Pass is the best post-Beatles solo album in my opinion.”

“Yes! Thank you! Do you want to listen to it?”

When they get to the mall, they immediately head to their favourite little coffee shop in the centre of the food court. Obi-Wan always buys, so Anakin usually makes it up to him by finding him a little gift.

“You just want your regular?”

“Obi-Wan, I’ve told you numerous times. I can afford my own coffee. You don’t have to buy it for me.”

“Shut up, I want to.” He turns to the employee and repeats their drink orders. “And a strawberry danish please!”

They sit in the food court while they drink their beverages and Anakin eats his danish, conversation flowing endlessly. Lots of inside jokes and giggles are shared. Then they continue on with their shopping.

They go to staples first, as Obi-Wan has dubbed it the ‘not-fun’ part of their trip.

“Anakin, you’re getting office supplies for a school project. Boring! Let’s get it out of the way first!”

“Okay, fine.” Anything for you! Literally anything you ask, any time, I would say yes. I’m at your mercy

They grab what Anakin needs at Staples and then head to Sephora.

Obi-Wan spends far too long sifting through various shades of black eyeliner. They all look the same.

“Anakin, which is better? ‘Midnight’ or ‘Jet Black’?” He holds up two pencils.

Anakin studies them. He tries really hard to spot a difference between them and to subsequently make a decision.

“Uhh… I guess, ‘Midnight’ ?” He suggests, pointing to ‘Jet Black’.

Afterwards they head to Hot Topic to look at the band shirts. This has both of them captivated.

“Anakin, it’s buy three get the fourth free. If we each pick two we can get the deal and then just split the cost for the rest.”

“Yes, Obi-Wan, I understand. But what if we each picked four?”

“You don’t need four new shirts!!!”

They settle on each getting two. When Anakin buys Obi-Wan a cool chain necklace with a scorpion on it that he had been eyeing, it’s only as a repayment for the coffee. Nothing else.

When Obi-Wan buys Anakin a pair of dangly sword earrings, it’s only because he thinks they would look really good on Anakin and he’s not too bashful to admit it. He wasn’t going to spend any time thinking about what that might mean.

“Please put them on! They totally suit you!”

“Oh fine!” Anakin obliges. They’re in the washroom after leaving Hot Topic. He puts the earrings on, as Obi-Wan watches him in the mirror.

“See! You look hot, Ani.”

“Oh, fuck off.” He mutters, blushing a fierce red as the two of them maintain eye contact in the mirror. You can’t just say something like that and expect me to be normal about it!

So Anakin walks around the mall, sword earrings proudly on display.

They go to Indigo because Obi-Wan is an English major and is passionate about literature. He wants to buy a book for Anakin to read so they can talk about it.

“I think you’ll really like Slaughterhouse-Five. Vonnegut is a very satirical author, and I think you’ll appreciate his dark sense of humour. Plus, it has science fiction elements! He uses aliens and a warped concept of time to highlight the trauma and impact of war. You’ll love it!”

“It sounds cool! I’ll give it a go!”

Anakin likely would have never picked it up on his own, but the way Obi-Wan’s eyes lit up and the pace of his speech quickened as he spoke with great passion about the novel made it entirely worth reading.

After the mall, they go to the park together. They sit down at a spot under a tree. Obi-Wan leans against the tree. He grabs a journal from his book bag and begins writing in it - just lil poems and thoughts. Definitely not about Anakin.

Anakin stretches out and rests his head on Obi-Wan’s lap. He starts reading the copy of ‘Slaughterhouse-Five’ that Obi-Wan bought for him.

They sit there for a long time in silence, each focusing on their own task but enjoying each others company.

Eventually Obi-Wan stops writing, putting his journal away in his bag.

The sun is starting to set, and as he glances down at Anakin, he notices how it highlights his features.

He notices the warmth of his skin brightened by the light - the gold of his curls enunciated in the glow.

He reaches down and rakes his fingers through the curls as Anakin continues reading.

“Thank you for today. Trips like this mean everything to me.” You mean everything to me.

Anakin stops where he’s reading and folds the corner of the page. Obi-Wan winces - he would never damage a book like that.

Anakin looks up at him, leaning into the fingers in his hair, practically purring. It’s enough to stop Obi-Wan from cursing him for folding the pages of a book.

“Of course, Obi. Things are always more fun with you.” He hums.

Obi-Wan smiles down at him, giving his scalp light scratches. I’m not thinking about kissing him.

“You’re like a little cat.” He ruffles his locks before pulling his hand away. He gives Anakin’s nose a boop.

Anakin huffs and pulls himself into a sitting position so they’re face to face. He stares at Obi-Wan for a moment, a devilish grin spreading across his face.

Suddenly, he stands up, reaching for Obi-Wan’s hand. “C’mon.” He says.

“Oh, what now?” Obi-Wan groans and grabs the offered hand, allowing himself to be pulled up.

“You’re going to buy me ice cream from the stand over there!” Anakin beams, interlocking their fingers and pointing to an ice cream cart in the distance.

Obi-Wan rolls his eyes but can’t control the smile tugging at his lips.

And so they go to the cart. Obi-Wan buys Anakin an ice cream cone. He wouldn’t do it if it didn’t make him happy - or rather, if it didn’t make Anakin happy which in turn made him happy.

As Anakin devours the cone they make their way back to the subway station. Their hands stay intertwined the entire way.

Mindlessly, Obi-Wan rubs his thumb up and down against Anakin’s palm.

All in all, it was quite a perfect day.

I promise at some point I’ll actually start writing this - I can’t promise I won’t post more of these before that though. 😎

nile is so underrated in eruri fandom usually he's either dumb or a corrupt asshole or worse his wife cheats on him with his best friend but honestly it's funnier and better when you think about his frustration this man probably goes back to home after talking to erwin every time like "helll naaaah now he's talking about marrying that lil criminal he picked up from the underground he's insane omfg i cant" and marie is probably chill "ahhh I'm so happy for erwin I think a serious relationship will be good for him" and nile is frustrated becaue no one understands him, he heard horror stories about how that tiny man can kill a person 3 times his size only using two fingers!!

Oh damn, I'm sorry Anon, you've come to the wrong place if you're looking for Nile support. It's been common knowledge in the fandom for years that I can't stand Nile, and my friends just love to tease me about him 😅 I would never admit this in public, but I confess I did develop a grudging admiration for him at the bitter end. He deserved a better death, and he died bravely, so I'll give him that.

I'm afraid I'm guilty of writing Nile as both dumb and a corrupt asshole, but I don't think I've ever come across an Eruri fic where Marie cheats with Erwin while she's married to Nile. Usually it's the other way around; Marie cheats with Nile while she's still in a relationship with Erwin. This is often the catalyst for her relationship with Erwin to break up and for her to marry Nile.

I do rather like the idea of Nile holding a (very much unrequited) torch for Erwin and being jealous as hell of Levi. I mean, it's kinda canon after all...

like that smirk after Speirs has finished telling him off just makes me feel like he’s a bit cheeky.

Like I can see all the nurses being introduced to the men and he just smirks directly at you immediately. His attention isn’t on any of the other women, you’re the only one he’s got eyes for.

some how, he attempts to make his way over to speak to you, but you’re ushered away quicker than he expects.

The rest of the evening, and however long it is before he sees you again he’s probably thinking about you. (He married his childhood sweetheart so I think he himself is a huge sweetheart). He’s a hopeless romantic and is already head over heels before he can put a name to your face.

“Ahhhh, did you see her, Malark? Like, her hair and everythin’??? She was gorgeous.”

He’s thinking about every single detail about you. “Ya gonna scare her away the second you speak to her.”

Much to More’s surprise he doesn’t. Hes super tall and handsome, with a smile to die for, a total dreamboat. He’s stunned when you’re stammering and blushing around him.

I think to speak to you he’d ask you loads of questions about nursing in the army and how you got into it. He’s genuinely fascinated, and when he finds out he’s a year or two older than you, he teases you about it.

would definitely be a little more shy and slower to make a move than some of the other boys. But you’d grow close because of this, he would harass you, he’s harmless and charming and sweet- I think as a nurse in Easy it would be hard to resist him.

so there’s this story that Malarkey has told about when Alton was looting, and he found a pair of knitted, baby boots and completely broke down and started to cry.

I think out of everybody Alton would feel the most comfortable coming to you, and when you just appear in front of him and he’s stood with red eyes, you couldn’t help but engulf him into a hug.

well it’s more like him engulfing you because he’s much taller, but instantly you’d ask him what happened and when he expresses himself you’d leave kisses all over his cheeks and cuddle him a lot.

after that act of vulnerability the two of you would be like two peas in a pod, feelings would be admitted and he’d be super protective over you, especially if you’re out on the field, he feels like his hearts in his throat whenever he watches you run out to treat somebody.

Burton ‘Pat’ Christenson:

christenson genuinely sounds like such an interesting person, and Michael Fassbender is gorgeous omfg.

From what I’ve seen he seems like quite a happy, outgoing guy, so maybe you spot him before he spots you?? Like for a change, you’re the one admiring somebody from a far and feel like you have to chase them.

it’s not that he doesn’t think you’re stunning I think because you’re on the quieter side he doesn’t notice you, but when he does, holy fucking shit ur so fucking drop dead gorgeous and what???

would buy you a drink and comes and sits next to you in the pub, engaging in conversation with you about anything.

He has such a sparkle in his eye and he doesn’t open up about it at first, but he’s got so many interests.

Physically, he was one of the top men in easy which is super attractive to you, (Pat smirks about this) but he’s also artistic, can play the guitar and he can sing?!! He’s a guy of many talents and I think you’d beg him to sing- which he’s too modest about so he doesn’t sadly.

Would probably be super playful with you as a way of flirting.

I think anything was to happen, it would be later in the war during/ after Bastogne.

everybody’s morale is down, but your closest friend seems to be completely and utterly exhausted and close to the brink of a breakdown. When you learn he’d been hit by shrapnel and was too exhausted to move you’re a panicked mess.

You didn’t know whether to slap him or cry when he’s asleep in the field hospital bed. You watch over him and let him sleep peacefully, patching and cleaning him up.

At some point, I think his hand would sneak into yours, half asleep as he’d ask you to stay in a husky voice. Now if that didn’t make your heart leap, I don’t know what else would.

He’s just so soft and gentle, and he’s a really kind guy, so you’d do anything for him except, ���Pat, we’re in the hospital, I can’t get in bed with you-“ “I love you though.” Oop- “N-no you’re half asleep.” “Y/N, I love you.”

Would definitely fall hard and fast, you’re his own personal nurse for a couple weeks, and you’re his rock after he lost his closest friends.

After the way you took care of him, he wants nothing more than to spoil you for the rest of your life after the war and bring you home to a comfortable lifestyle where he can give you whatever you wanted.

I think physical touch is his love language, so he’d have a lingering finger wrapped around yours, or a hand on your shoulders at all times.

James Moe Alley:

What a handsome man. Seriously all three of these men are SLEPT on.

I think Moe is a more quieter guy, especially when it comes to women, he’s a little shy and intimidated around you, similar to how Babe is.

let’s say you first meet when you do his physical, you’ve seen so many handsome men so he doesn’t think you’d be the slightest bit interested; but there’s an audible shyness behind your voice, and James is relieved you’re similar to him.

You had to have your hands all over him, and the examination ended up being slightly giggly and awkward. After, it takes a while for either of you to speak one on one, without being in a group.

I think Moe would get a little saddened and disheartened when he see’s other men flirting with you, he sips his beer as he watches you laughing at what they’re saying, questioning why he can’t be that confident around you.

nervous about jumping out of the aeroplane (he had to be pushed out when jumping!) I feel like you’d be able to tell and you’d approach him and soothe his shaking hands.

“Ya’ scared, James? Don’t be scared, I’ve seen a million guys do this and they were all fine.” Knowing you were on the ground below, and you’d just held his hands, he felt like a child, smiling to himself as he plucked enough courage to throw himself out of the plane during the practice jumps.

I feel like he’d need a bit of a push to make a move on you? Maybe one day he sees somebody being rude or disrespectful to you, they’re clearly taking advantage of how nice and reserved you are, so he intercepts, physically barricading his body between yours and the guy harassing you.

“She ain’t interested, pal. You better back off.”

After he’s huffing and puffing, storming away from the annoying guy once he’d finally left you and you chase after him, grabbing his shoulders. to stop him.

“Moe.” With a soft call of his name, you’re on your tip toes kissing him with both your hands on either of his cheeks.

Feels like he’s been kissed by an Angel- holy fucking shit.

after that there’s a genuine connection growing between the two of you, but I feel like it gets cut short when he’s injured in Operation Market Garden.

seeing him like that was horrible, you couldn’t stop crying and Winters had to move you away from treating him because you were too worried. Thanks to your quick action and care he survives despite having 32 shrapnel injuries.

he never has chance to thank you because he’s borderline unconscious and shipped off to a hospital for the next two months.

In the mean time you’d write to one another, James is more confident through writing, and warns you a billion times that he’s gonna ‘bust the fuck out and go AWOL to get back to Easy’.

And he does.

it’s in Bastogne; but hell seeing him again would make you weak in the knees. Alley feels like he’s gonna fall when he sees you and he engulfs you in the biggest cuddle ever. You’re skinny and look exhausted, but you’re alive and safe.

The relationship is so comfortable, you love each other very dearly and Moe never ever forgets how you saved his life when he was injured. Never stops thanking you.

i fully believe that azulin and padre had atleast some typa feelings for each other, i saw them kinda close to each other and maybe they had off-screen interactions to build their relationship more. i mean the man literally screamed, “NOO, PADRE!” and looked absolutely heartbroken whilst gordi who didn’t have an on-screen interaction i can remember with padre, just gasped and ‘😱’ (me too, gordi, me too)… but srsly, no one honestly does that unless they are close??? i feel like if unicorn wars was a series and had a few episodes or two, it would probably show atleast a little bit more of their relationship, since series tend to have more opportunities to make their characters interact.

also i’d like to mention the only time we can see padre smiling was when he was looking at azulin and talking to him, LIKE OMFG,?? that man def had smth for azulin pls omfg !!

they also tend to stick somewhat closeby each other during the parts where they are walking in the forest, idk it might not matter but its cute to me !! also it seems azulin kept two things of padres, the book he was gifted and the flask he was seen drinking and the one caricias stole and drank from during the worm scene. it might be something they get when working there instead of recruiting at, but shh. i think i remember a few ppl agreeing that he had gotten it from padre. also it makes sense, i dont think a literal church or military base would hand-out decorated flasks for the priests or lieutenants, especially since most discourage drinking…

Ugh the bathtub scene!!!! So underrated!!!!!! Little introverted Quinn sitting in the bathtub because she’s overwhelmed and the way she immediately started talking about clogged drains was so cute lol. Like she’s still Quinn you know. I love the idea of her just blurting out facts when she’s uncomfortable, it’s a cue for Zoey, Logan. Etc to know somethings wrong. (Now I’m thinking about Logan not even being phased when Quinn just blurts out random facts 🥺🥺)

ANYWAY, also the whole “i never imagined a wedding but I fell in love with someone who did, I want to do this for him” the way her face SOFTENS when she thinks about Logan and how happy this makes him. Such an indication to what a strong couple they are and how much they love eachother, don’t take eachother for granted and have the other as their priority.

I did like that moment, despite my reluctance to accept (and my hate) Zoey as Quinn's best friend, that scene showed she does care for her and might be the only time on the movie JLS had chemistry with someone (my hate may make me biased but while I recognize she has improved on her acting, I did not feel her give... much). It was nice to see Quinn having that moment of vulnerability with a friend and of course her nerdy comments and fact droppings like she used to, I wish there were more moments like that in the movie.

I like to think Logan is endeared by her when she starts talking about science stuff. I mean, everything she says turns him in the embodiment of the heart-eyes emoji lol, so I wouldn't be surprised if her science talk has the same effect. I can't remember if we saw him react to her fact dropping once they got together in the show (besides the moment on "Dinner for Two Many" where she says something gross about the food they were eating and everyone including Logan were grossed out)

But I also loved the scene it showed how much Quinn loves Logan. We always fawn over how head over heels he's for her, but we don't talk as much about how Quinn is just as in love (or at least I hadn't been doing much on that part)

I am conflicted about the whole "Quinn never dreamed of a wedding", bc to me Quinn has always been a hopeless romantic that just lacked of social skills. Quinn was feminine and into romantic things while still being independent, feminist, girlboss in the making and all that, in my perspective. Both Logan and Quinn are into romance, despite their contradictory personalities imo, and that's something I always loved.

But despite that, I really liked we got a scene proving she's as willing to change and compromise for Logan as he is for her. This scene, accompanied to Logan's "I only want what you want" and settling for a wedding she feels more comfortable in, bc he also cares more about her than a ceremony, is a beautiful way of showing why they stood the test of time. Why they were and still are the best couple of the show and movie.

Welcome to New York — okay i honestly can’t believe I hold myself off and started w this. always thought this was a great opener and HONESTLY sounds really close w the og. I LOVE the production, not my fav song on the album though lol, 8/10

Blank Space — THIS SOUNDS SO CRISP OH MY GOD. there's something different from the og BUT I LOVE IT. 9/10

Style — THIS ALSO SOUNDS SO CRISP TOO. god i love the maturity in her voice SO GODDAMN MUCH. always will be one of my favs on this album. YOU GOT THAT!! JAMES DEAN!! DAYDREAM!! LOOK IN YOUR EYE!! just perfect. 9/10

OVERALL; I think this is BY FAR my favorite re-recording. I love all of them with my entire heart but THIS ONE IS JUST SO SPECIAL AND IMM SOOO HAPPY TAYLOR FINALLY OWNS IT. JUST A MASTERPIECE. my only ONLY problem is some of the production in some of the songs. i loved the changes. and I LOVE what she did. and I LOVE JACK ANTONOFF FOR GIVING US AMAZING SONGS. but the production sounds a bit off in these songs :(( i think max martin and shellback should've also produced more of them.
