Okay, this is insane and it's just super baffling to me. For context, yesterday I found out someone on the big Funger server was using my art as their pfp. Naturally I went to visit general to just shoot a quick message "hey, I'm the creator of this artwork. If anyone knows the person who's using it as their pfp, please send their info so I can talk to them." I figured there are fellow artists in the server and would gladly help another out, cause you know, taking someone's artwork is not okay.

I was met with replies like

"Why do you care that much? They're just using it as their profile picture," , "I don't think it's that strange to use someone's art as a pfp"

"What are you even going to do when you find them? Beat them up? Do you want us to go on a witch hunt for you?"

People like you depend on artists to enrich your Fandom experience, Anon. It's our works that you can look at and share around, so why the fuck do you feel so entitled to the shit I create? Is the concept of asking the creator of something for consent before using it that foreign to you, and if it is, who the hell raised you? 💀💀💀

It is MY art. Only I GET to decide how or when MY ART is being used, and by whom.

Don't interact with my page if you cannot respect that.

The greatest injustice ever faced is that I almost certainly started the still thriving "clown husbandry" tag on here, but any discussion about it (from a know your meme page to a youtube video with 500k views) says it's a joke of "unknown origin" or credited to this post, likely bouncing off of mine (which was actively circulating at the time with like 30k notes):

I swear some people will act like taxidermists are skinning animals alive

A tiger recently died in a famous zoo in my country, and people are up in arms about the zoo's decision to taxidermy it for research and educational purposes

The alternative is chopping it up and burning it in a furnace but I guess that's "What the tiger would have wanted"

The tiger never talked to you or me or anyone, but I guess acting emotional about a corpse puts you on higher moral ground and that means you know the tiger better than anyone who actually took care of or researched it

Edit: Apparently people are not only planning a rally against this tiger's taxidermy, but harrassing the taxidermist in charge. This is bullshit.

I mean I get that’s it’s not the only contributing factor, but I’m curious exactly how much of the shelter dog over-population problem is actually due to poor dog ownership/management vs the housing crisis and economical stress. I’d be willing to bet by investing in social programs that give people the resources they need to care for their pets (cough cough affordable and free housing cough cough) that the amount of pets in shelters would dramatically drop. We can all sit here pointing fingers and screaming at each other until we are blue in the face, but if the owners basic needs are not being met, how can we hold them to a basic standard for their pets?
