My second batch of venture bros genderbends are finally done! :D [first set here]

PLEASE LOOK UNDER THE CUT!!! I made all these nice drawings and doodles of them and I want people to see them without this post being super long! :') [My thoughts on the designs and doodles will be under the cut as well]

Okay NOW I'm going talk about my thought process on some of these:

Baby Rusty: I love the baby Rusty, the frilly socks and sleeves were a must. I actually drew her with the original set of genderbends but I turned off her layer and forgot about her 💀

Jonas Jr: not much to say about her, I tried to make her like Rosie the Riveter. Her little bandana has the Venture logo on it :)

Jonas Sr: I wanted her to be a hot bitch, her outfit is maybe a little scandalous for the time era they were in but I think it fits, canon Jonas is a whore. I think everybody would want her and that every celebrity, politician, and anybody with any power would chase after her so badly.

Blue Morpho: I made her so incredibly slay. I fucking love her outfit, I found the inspo for the outfit on Pinterest but I changed it up a bit. Also her gun has the bayonetta butterfly wings on it as a charm because I HAD TO.

Colonel Gentleman: Not a lot to say, I wanted to give her like horse riding esque boots and I gave her a purple flower cause she likes the ladies. I know generally WLW flowers are Violets and Lavender but I wanted to draw a rose so, Purple rose compromise <3

Dr.Boyfriend 2: With my last round Dr.Boyfriend was the only one people had complaints with. I think people wished he was more Masculine and I agree but if I switched up the design too much it wouldn't look like Dr.Girlfriend. I hope giving him armor and making him look like a knight helped him look more masc. I made the sheer wings cross over his chest to make it look like it was holding up the shoulder armor. Also his guild book is insanely high quality because I was procrastinating drawing his armor.

Goofy and Goober (Watch and Ward): I think they ended up really cute, I tried to make their hair colors close to Doc and Jacksons since I heard they are supposed to be like their "main" self inserts. With Ward I had a really specific idea for her hair, I kept thinking about this haircut from my sims and had to do it. It might be hard to see but her ponytail holders have skull charms on them. I also purposely gave them both some sort of ponytail hairstyle so they would match but be slightly different :) (They are absolutely prank calling or trolling their clients on that phone btw)

Shoreleave: OH MY GOD I LOVE SHORELEAVE. I kept turning her folder back on just to keep looking at her when I was drawing the other characters. She is so captivating to me, she looks so soft and human. I want to take a bite out of her thigh. My biggest inspo for her was Cammy from Street Fighter, I felt like her dressing a bit skimpy works for her since canon Shoreleave kinda does. The girls out for the girls.

Alchemist: I love her design so much too. I wanted her to look like some kind of nun or priestess. She looks like if a Zelda fire temple was a person. I kinda gave her like a weird little hime cut under the hood. Also I put the Triad logo on all three of their designs (+ Triana).

Jefferson: Had a lot of fun with her, I didnt change her design much from canon though so there's not much to say. I did give her more flared pants though. Drawing her hair was a really fun change of pace, I very rarely get to draw textured hair.

College Rusty and Monarch Drawing: I love this one, Monarch turned out so hot dude. You can tell what character I like more LMFAO. I made rusty very obnoxious 80s while keeping the colors of the original college rusty outfit. Monarch kind of looks like postal dude but its fine because shes slay.

Hereditary Venture Family Dinner Drawing: This was one of the first drawings I started but the second to last one I finished. I wanted to draw the family doing something together but I think I really truly just wanted to draw Dermott again. 😭 Nobody has said anything if they noticed but I did give hatred the shirt from these edits. (I believe the one on the left is from reddit and the one on the right is by SquashFold on Twitter)

Dermott piercing Dean's ears drawing: Even though its messy its in the top 3 favorites I did, It was also the last one I did. I just love the idea of Dermott giving goth Dean at home ear piercings. At first I didn't know if I wanted to make Dermott giving her piercings at the mall where she works or at home but the mall idea was too much work for a last minute sketch. Dermott is so mean older sister who shoplifts and works at the mall.

Drug bathroom drawing: Another one of my favorites, its based off a specific deleted scene from Invisible Hand of Fate where Pete and Rusty talk at the bar but Pete comes out of the bathroom sniffling at the start. I love the way I drew Pete pushing the hair out of her face and both of their expressions.

Bdsm 21 drawing: Okay first of all, The little devil Monarch was so cute I was screaming, crying, and throwing up while drawing her. I fucking love her, shes the smallest part of the image but my favorite. I also am quite fond of the bdsm 21.

Quizgirls Pete and Billy: I tried looking up Vanna White dresses to base Pete's outfit off of but I couldn't find one that Pete would actually wear so I just had to make shit up. Billy's design is really basic but the bow in her hair is actually from one of my rejected main Billy genderbends.

Me and The Bestie: I put a lot of effort into this one for no reason. Literally the moment I saw Jonas in the problem machine I thought he should be made of like blue slime. When I was working on this I kept thinking about Momopatchi's Hatsune Microbe drawing so this Jonas was definitely inspired by that. I gave Jonas makeup because she was having a party movie night on gargantua and I felt like she would still have makeup on thats like completely fucked up and deteriorating on her face after many many years. Vendata's outfit was partially based on Marguerite Chapman's from Flight to Mars, never seen it but I was looking up old sci-fi movie costumes to work with and I thought it would look good :)

been on a clown roll lately! here are some color-experimentation sketches along with my self-insert... oc? thingy? for @bamsara's Solar Lunacy universe!! I've been binging that shit for about a week straight- and the brainrot is real... (more rambles under the cut)

I've become an actual irl menace to my partner about sun/moon -related content because of Solar Lunacy :'D just- binging videos, playlists, fics, all that jazz! i haven't been more energetic/happy in a long while tho, and - even as a fictional character - bamsara's sun is hella infectious >:] i might probably clean up the doodle below- but for this being my first time drawing the daycare attendants its-- ok :] the absolute struggle i had with trying to figure out which side of their chassis' are colored-- and the poses gave me such trouble :sob: the little name-tag card in the middle was originally designed by bamsara (as you can see here), but i wanted to try and give my own little color-spin on it! <3 -- Other than that! the little fella in the top-right corner is an absolutely adorkable little cutie i found at the bottom of a bowl! (see the lil button image of him w/ his little flute-thingy) and i so had to draw him ;O; lil goober that i still need to try and make more skrunkly, somehow...

It’s finally time to introduce the secondary project I’ve been working on >;Dc

I’ve had this queued for sometime in June, did not check when, so hello on [random date in june] ;D

I’m also here to explain how I’ll be posting this stuff going forward! Everything will be posted here, on my main account before being reblogged over to Soul’s Anchor a side bog with the place holder title. Unless it deals with more adult/suggestive content or heavier topics, of which will be exclusively posted to Soul’s Anchor side blog. As I don’t want certain themes alongside AM! I’ll also be referring to this series as Anchor for short! I will encourage any and all Questions, Mentions, and Thoughts to be directed there for those interested and those who are not, dw! You’ll only see the initial posts here, no asks or follows up, but this is still my art account and I shall enjoy it as I please ;3

Brief Synopsis about the Story:

A queer love story following a cursed pirate and a cult refugee implanted with a god’s eye as they combat the reality of living in a world which was created solely to feed the gods that govern it. All whilst a sapphic couple attempt to help guide the pair along a path to to a better future, one that’s validity comes into question. A dark fantasy story that aims to represent the disabled community, the LGBTQIA+, and SA survivors written by fellow members of these communities.

Also brief disclaimer, I, Phlurrii, am simply an ally to the disabled community, my partner in crime writing alongside me, ArtJunco on Instagram, is our resident community member ;]

Anyways onto the meat of this!

Below is a collection of some, emphasis on some, of the concept art and processes I went through to develop and create one of the two main characters, Lumae.

Here are some of the earliest ideas, the basic thoughts I had in my brain when developing this goober after a 3 hours pacing in my kitchen at 1 am when that inspiration struck. His hair was the HARDEST bit for me to figure out. Which sucked as usually the hair is one of the first things I figure out because of how much I love it, so it was Agony while brainstorming that part.

I also briefly considered a goatee, however it was so cruelly shot down by my dear friend. So in stead we compromised that he may get one later down the line story wise… and see how we feel then. However, upon finally figuring out his hair I was bloody elated, still has some tweaks now and then, but the base is there.

As for this next concept, this was actually the FIRST thing created for Lumae and what started everything else about his character/design! His eyes! They are still my favourite but about him and something I adore whole heartedly! They are the core of his character ;3c

These next few are early refs and mock ups of his full design, testing our colours, experimenting with shading, getting used to drawing humans again, and general concepts I had for him as a character! Also a sneak peak at Ayric, our second main goober for this story! Who was lovingly designed and created by ArtJunco!

And finally his most recent WIP ref! The only thing currently bothering me about his design is the colour for his boot covers, I have no idea what to do with them so I’d you have suggestion or ideas, sincerely, feel free to shoot an ask to the Anchor blog! I’d genuinely love outside opinions!

As for the main curiosity of why I’m doing this, for those that missed the last post, I’ll give a brief explanation below ;3

To help with burnout so I can hop between fixations, help to avoid losing interest in AM in the future!

To take a break from story telling to do story building! Give the telling part of my brain a break, while still making cool stuff ;]

To have a more interactive blog with ya’ll! One where I’ll likely be asking advice and discussing a lot more hypotheticals, doodling asks, and general audience interaction given I am not bound by any updates! Purely just “ooo… shiny-“ and anyone is welcome to join me ;D

Recently I had an idea for a short animation starring our favorite goobers — Fear and Anxiety! I felt like I was a concept artist at Pixar while doodling them :3

Here are the model sheets for my simplified versions of their awesome designs (I guess you can use them in your work providing credit/mention if you really want... they're barely different from the official ones tho lol)

I took some inspiration from their Disney Emoji Blitz icons but I just wanted to render them in an anime-esque artstyle (like in a what-if scenario drawn by some mangaka... tho I think they would've made even more modifications than I did) I tried to stick with their portrayal in official flat 2D artwork (●'◡'●)

Fear′s design is a lot more stylized than Anxiety′s simply bc I′ve been drawing him for longer (I made his sheet in early 2023 but recently colored and did touch-ups... Coincidently, I made his design more Forky-like before Tony Hale′s va replacement reveal (◔◡◔) Please excuse my iffy turnarounds, it's pretty much first time I did this kind of concept art ＞︿＜

Drawing expressions for arguably the most adorkable emotions was super fun as well! I love the expressive hair trope so I made sure to fully utilize it here... and ofc we shouldn't forget their endearingly goofy floating eyebrows ^^

The Japanese pronouns/honorifics notes are just for fun... I′m pretty sure Fear′s are accurate to the JP localization (Insaido Heddo) but Anxiety definitely isn't a Bokukko and doesn't speak Ōsaka-ben (otherwise she wouldn't use watashi) but it's a fun headcannon (I think she would use kimi for 2nd-person instead of Fear′s more polite anata idk)

I know a lot of you are going through it. I am so sorry it's so hard. This is just a gentle reminder that you are allowed to be upset, and you are allowed to be stressed or depressed. Life isn't all sunshine and rainbows, and it's okay to not be okay for a while. Please just remember that even when the darkest days are here, there is ALWAYS some light. Find some things that bring small bits of light to your life-- maybe a walk, or a special treat, a hug from a friend on or offline, or taking a moment out of your day to give someone a compliment -- whatever it is that brings that dopamine to your brain. Little things help train our brain to know that good things CAN happen, so exposing yourself to those little things day by day can help build what's sort of like a good things muscle. As more and more happen, the rough times become easier to tolerate because they are sprinkled with good things.

You are so very strong, and I know you can get through whatever you are going through. I know you don't feel like it, but you are, even when you feel your lowest. I believe in you, the crew believes in you, even if we've never spoken, we want you to be okay, okay?

This silly goober is very self indulgent! And I’m cringe, but I’m free, so

(Lil info dump underneath, lore, fun lil stuff, and extra doodle + roach)

so Conan, aka “k9” is 23 years old! They got their nickname from being very loyal, and being as ferocious as a feral dog on field, yet very sweet and social out of duty. (Not to be confused as a pick me >:/ don’t throw that at my goober)

K9 is mostly on comms duty and giving guidance, but can be put on field with the task force. The ears on their helmet are detachable (they definitely get in the way, so being detachable is more practical) they are able to make voices more clear when transferring to the headphones! •learned to juggle(going back to my roach hc, that he learned basic juggling) roach taught them, but K9 actually made it a hobby, and learned a lot of different moves!

•prescription goggles. Bro is blind, and uses contacts, first time they wore glasses around the others, it was a random Sunday, and soap was cackling on the floor for 5 minutes.

I drew the doodle page first and the bottom one is the most recent :3 she got progressively more gooberous as i drew him more ebebeb you can see like half way through the doodle page I changed her heads lineart to a purplish black instead of pure black and I think it looks soo much better w/ the yellow facial features :]

I still have a lot to learn abt drawing on digital but I think it looks pretty good for my first time :3c (aside from some practice doodles ofc)

Error headcanon time let’s go!!!

First and foremost he is the only person who can rock that hair cut. I’ve seen people irl with it and it doesn’t look as good as Error makes it so gold star for him

Second is his face. I know it’s just a different skin color from the rest of his body but I like to think that it’s actually a prosthetic (Similar to Sally Face). When he got to the anti-void his right side of his face was a little janked up. His face was melting off when he was Geno, and when it went back to normal, but it probably didn’t go back ‘normally’ if you get it. So best course of action for him was to take an unfinished prosthetic mask and use it for himself. He of course decorated it to look like his actually face, just not disfigured. Of course if you ask him he’ll just say he wears it because,

“My real face is too good for you to look at. I don’t need anymore simps”

In reality he’s subconsciously self-conscious about his face and doesn’t want people to see it and point it out. I don’t know how disfigured his face would be in all honesty. It’s really not as bad as he thinks it is. It probably just looks really patchy and un-sagged. Like a very odd looking face lift.

It doesn’t matter though. The simps will love him all the same <3

Gideon - white hair, 21, introvert + quiet/hostile energy, wears suits and high class outfits, somewhat arrogant, has a love hate relationship with his work (still haven't decided where he works at, he's a new oc 😭)

Callum: Brown hair, chaotic lawful energy, makes too many video game and anime refrences, LOVES jjba (and secretly Ohhc but will never tell a soul) expressive and loud, wears short sleeve hoodies and the first pair of jeans he sees and random accessories, cosplays with kylie :3 hobbies are playing video games (mostly offline story games)

Kylie: Blonde hair with pigtails, loves fashion and cosplays, movie addict, hyperfeminine,cheerful and extroverted, loves romance comedy animes (ohhc, tbhk, etc), overuses emojis, hobbies are diy clothes and painting

Kai: short king ✨ spiky black hair similar to his brother's, arran. never plans ahead and very unorganized, gremlin/cahotic dummy energy, too many energy for one goober, will be calm once in a blue moon lmao, LOVES retro style and 90's video games, you will never see him without his beat-up, half dead, barely recognizable, mp3 player. has the most random stuff in his pockets (he once found a four year old 5 dollar monoploy money in his pocket that he tried to use to buy a bag of chips with) very spontaneous and reckless, hobbies are: listening to music on his mp3 player (sounds like a freaking mosquito on how damaged the speaker is but he doesn't mind) going to arcades and going on spontaneous outings with friends,

 Jade: quiet and introverted, not shy, just doesn't like talking to people much (except arran) short brown hair with dull eyes, wears teal jacket always. Jade is my trauma dumped oc because every artist has that one thats solely for trama and struggles <3 doesn't feel like shes in control so she gave up and goes with the flow most of the time (not like her say will ever matter anyway 🤷‍♀️) shes a newer oc so im still making lore for her 😌 hobbies are: sketching and guitar and piano

Arran: Brother to Kai, has black spiky hair that goes to his shoulders, has low, quiet, energy. always seems dazed or unfocused, not very expressive but will show actions rather than words, is sadly forced to do cosplays with kylie 😔 (she wouldn't stop asking) looks standoffish, is actually standoffish (to most people, he is kind to jade and warming up to kylie (not because he wants to warm up to kylie, shes just persistent on making everyone her friend 😭) loves long shows and series, (secretly plays animal crossing and has a whole ahh village fully decorated but dont tell anyone i told you..) likes playing multiplayer or open world games every now and then, hobbies are: playing video games (with his brother)

i have one other oc i haven't drawn yet but ive yapped too much already so that will be for another post 😌

A skeleton who spends most of his time traversing through the multiverse with his lantern staff in hand. He claims to originate from an AT of Outertale (he is not a Sans) but his aesthetic/colors are a little off from the normal attire of Outertale. Still, he calls it home whenever he grows tired from his travels.

He relies on the power of the star in his lantern staff to open star shaped portals to AUs. Unless he focuses on a specific AU he remembers his portal takes him to an AU at random. Through his time of traveling he has made friends with (mostly) the Star Sanses and some others. At first he did his best to not get involved with multiverse affairs but finds himself inspired to help where he can. He is no fighter but he can be a guiding light for those in need.
