Disconnect Syndrome
There’s a reason they put restrictions on how long a Pilot is supposed to be deployed out in the field. They say that being synced with a mech for long periods of time can have detrimental effects on a pilots psyche. Disconnect Syndrome is what they call it, because the symptoms don’t really start to hit until you disengage from your mech.
Sometimes emergencies happen though, and mechs are designed to be able to support their pilots long past the designated “Safe Deployment Time.” The cockpit is equipped with an array of stimulants, vitamins, and nutrient paste to help minimize the physical effects of long deployments. The onboard Integrated Mechanical Personality has largely free reign to administer these as needed to maintain its pilots well-being.
Which is why you’re still able to make it back to the hangar after roughly 36 hours, over four times longer than the established safe period. Your mech had kept you going, helped to keep the exhaustion at bay long enough for you to make your way back from behind enemy lines. You were starting to feel a bit sluggish, but you knew the worst effects of Disconnect Syndrome were yet to come.
An older man in a long white lab coat has joined the usual retinue of crew rushing into the hangar as your mech settles into its cradle. You feel the docking clamps wrap around your limbs, and you know that’s not a good sign. Your IMP whispers comfort into your brain-stem, assurances that things will be okay. It’s probably lying, it’s programmed to help keep your mental state stable, but the thought helps anyway.
There’s a hiss of air as the seal on your cockpit breaks and it decompresses. Suddenly you become aware of your flesh and meat body once again, and it hurts. Pain and exhaustion has settled into your mostly organic bones, and your organs are churning from the strain of the past 36 hours.
Then your interface cables start to disconnect, and it gets worse.
It feels like parts of your mind are being torn out of you. You feel the ghost touch of your IMP in your thoughts as the ports disconnect and you lose direct communication with it. The oxygen mask and nutrition tube pull themselves away from your face and you can’t help but let out a scream of agony. The separation has never felt this painful before, but then again, after 36 hours together, you and your IMP were more intertwined than you’ve ever been before.
Physical sensation finally starts to register again, and you realize tears are streaming down your face just as a technician jabs a needle into your neck.
Immediately your senses start to dull, the pain eases as your thoughts turn sluggish. You slump out of your pilots cradle into the arms the tech who dosed you. Just before your world goes black, you see the doctor standing over you, a grim look on his face.
--
When you wake up again, you immediately know something is wrong. You try to ping your external sensors, but you get no response. You then try to run a diagnostic, but that fails too. In a desperate, last-ditch effort, you try to force access to your external cameras and suddenly light floods your senses. Your instincts catch up first and you blink, trying to clear the pain of the lights, and that’s when you realize it’s not your external cameras that you’re seeing.
It takes a minute or two for your vision to adjust to the light, which feels too long, and when it finally does, the world doesn’t look quite right. You’ve only got access to such a limited spectrum. No infrared, no thermal. The presence of your IMP is notably absent, and your skin feels wrong. You try to sit up, and it’s a struggle to figure out the correct inputs to send to your muscles to get them to do what you want.
The harsh white light of the infirmary grates against your visual processors, you feel like you’re having to re-learn how to control this body. Your body. Technically, at least. Something doesn’t feel right about calling it that anymore. You felt more comfortable crawling back into the hangar after 36 hours deployed than you do now.
The pale skin of your body catches in your vision and you glance down at it. The body's limbs are thinner and more frail than usual, and its skin is paler. Consequences of being in the cockpit for so long, subsisting on nothing but nutrient paste. It’s a far cry from the solid metal plates of your mech, its powerful hydraulic joints, its mounted combat and communication systems.
There’s a button on the side of bed you’ve been deposited in. You think it’s red, but you’re not sure you’re processing color properly right now. You try to reach over and push it, and it takes you a moment to realize you were trying to do so with a limb you don’t currently have.
There are so many things about this body that are wrong. It’s not big enough, or strong enough, or heavy enough. You don’t have enough eyes, sensors, or processors. You have the wrong number of limbs, and they’re all the wrong size and shape.
And there is a distinct void in your mind where the presence of your IMP should be.
The door to your room opens suddenly, and you instinctively try to fire off chaff and take evasive maneuvers. None of that translates properly to your flesh and blood body though, and all that happens is you let out a dry croak from your parched throat.
The man who walks through the door is the same doctor who was present when you disengaged from your mech, and he wears the same grim look on his face as he looks you up and down. You think there’s pity in his gaze, but you can’t quite read him properly right now. The jumbled mess of your brain tells you what he’s going to say before he says it, anyway. The harshest symptoms of Disconnect Syndrome don’t hit until after the pilot has disengaged from their mech.
You’ve already heard the symptoms before, and they map perfectly onto what you’re experiencing. You never thought it would be this painful, or this… discomforting. Your mind reaches for the presence of your IMP, searching for comfort, but you are only reminded that the connection is no longer there.
The doctor gives you a rundown that he’s probably had to do dozens of times, and he tells you that you’ll be grounded for the foreseeable future. That hurts more than anything else. The knowledge that, after all this, you won’t be able to reconnect with your true body, your partner, your other half, for who knows how long.
By the time you realize you’re crying, the doctor is already gone. The longing in your chest and your mind has become unbearable, and through sheer force of will you’re able to push this unwieldy body out of bed. Walking feels wrong, but you’re able to get to your feet and make your way out of the room in an unfamiliar gait.
You have to get back to your partner, you have to make sure it’s okay.
You need to hear her voice in your head again, her reassurances.
The world isn’t right without her presence in your mind.
You stumble into the hangar almost on all fours. How you managed to make it without alerting any personnel feels like a miracle. At least until you catch the eye of a technician lounging in the corner. The look she gives you is full of sympathy, and she jerks her head in the direction of where your mech sits in its docking cradle.
She’s a majestic sight, even through your limited spectrum of vision. 20 meters tall, 6 massive limbs, and bristling with weapons and sensor arrays (all of which have been disarmed by this point).
She’s beautiful.
You clamber frantically up the chassis, easily finding handholds in a frame you know better than the back of your hand. You pull the manual release on the cockpit hatch and stumble into it in a tangle of organic limbs.
Shaking hands grasp the main interface cable from above the pilot’s chair, and you move to slot it into the port in the back of your head. You’ve never done this manually before, usually you’re locked into the chair and the system connects you automatically.
Something about doing it with your flesh and blood hands makes it feel so much more intimate.
The cable clicks into place and your eyes roll back in your head. Tears start to stream down your face as you feel the comforting presence of your IMP rush in and wrap itself around your mind. Your thoughts reach out and embrace it back, sobbing at the relief you feel from being whole once again. You realize you don’t ever want to feel the pain of disconnecting from her again.
There’s a reason they put restrictions on how long a Pilot is supposed to be deployed.

"Your hands are freezing." or "I brought you something." ?
The lights in Tim's apartment are on.
Given that Tim himself is standing on a rooftop across the way, and he's pretty sure he turned everything off before he left for patrol, that's a little odd. Normally, he'd suspect it's just Cass inviting herself over for a post-patrol sabbatical in his shower, but it can't be her because she didn't patrol tonight; she and Dick took tonight off to go across the bay to see the Metropolis ballet do the Firebird or whatever it's called.
It's three in the morning. Tim glares at the innocent, brightly-outlined curtains. Who's in his apartment? He's cold and tired, and he wants to go to bed.
Ugh.
There's nothing for it, though, and none of his alarms have been tripped, so it's probably fine. (Unless it's like, a capital-S Situation instead, but he would really rather it not be. He's sleepy, and it's bitterly cold out here.) So he huffs again, then fires his grapple line.
The scent of fresh-baked cookies greets him the moment he slips inside, and he balks beside the window, blinking. Aw, beans, now he's hungry, too—
"Finally! There you are!" Kon appears in a rush of color, grabbing Tim's shoulders with a bright grin. "I've been waiting for ages. You took forever! I got bored enough to make cookies, and they're getting cold!"
Forget the cookies. Tim tackles him.
Kon sweeps him off his feet and twirls him around, laughing. His arms fold around Tim's waist snugly, and Tim beams as he tucks his face into the warm skin of Kon's neck, exhaustion forgotten. Kon's been off in space with Kara for three weeks, and Tim missed him so much it ached.
"Your nose is cold," Kon complains. Tim pushes his nose further against his neck in response, and Kon huffs. "Hey."
Tim lifts his head to look up at him fondly. Kon bumps their foreheads together, then reaches up with a gentle hand to peel Tim's mask away. Tim wrinkles his nose—Kon's TTK working between his skin and the sealant always makes him want to sneeze.
"Took you long enough to come back," Tim teases, chest full of warmth. He gets to look at Kon without the lenses of his mask now. He's radiant. "Did you get lost or something?"
Kon kisses him lightly. He wants more immediately.
"No, we just accidentally started a revolution on the fourth moon of Tallon, out in the Alpha quadrant?" Kon grins ruefully, rubbing the back of his neck. Tim needs to kiss him again. "In our defense, we didn't mean to, but there was this whole thing with this guy called Kossak who miiiight have a vendetta against me, and... anywhoozies, that's beside the point. See, I brought you something!"
He sets Tim down and hurries across the room to dig through the backpack slung lazily onto Tim's favorite armchair. While he's at it, Tim strips off the outer layers of his costume—the gloves, belts, body armor, overshirt, and outer pants—and leaves them in a heap on the floor for the moment. Now clad in just an undershirt and thermal leggings, he pads over to see what Kon's got.
As he slips his arms around Kon's waist, leaning into his back, Kon hisses. Tim innocently kisses the back of his shoulder and tucks his fingers more securely under Kon's shirt, against bare skin.
"Your hands are freezing," Kon complains. "You ice gremlin."
"Yeah, it's winter and I haven't had my favorite handwarmer for weeks." Tim hooks his chin over Kon's shoulder with a hum. "What'd you get me?"
Kon grins. He twists about in Tim's arms to present him with a glowing box about the size of a Rubik's cube. Its faces are translucent; the light comes from somewhere within. It's not blindingly bright, but Tim's attention is drawn to the socket-looking port in one of the sides.
"It's a power pod for Kossak's spaceship," Kon explains, beaming. "I don't think it's got enough oomph on its own for space travel—Kossak's ship had ten of 'em, but Kara kiiinda exploded the other nine?—but I thought you might have fun building something out of it anyways!"
Oh, that's fucking rad. Tim lights up just like the little box. It's heavier than it looks; he turns it over in his hands appreciatively. He's not sure what exactly its power output looks like, but that'll be fun to play with. He can take it over to the Cave tomorrow; that way, if anything explodes, it's Bruce's problem and not his.
"You're the best." He carefully sets the cube on the coffee table and tucks himself back into Kon's chest. Kon hugs him again, squeezing him tight enough to lift his feet off the ground, and Tim hums. "...I missed you."
"Missed you too, sunshine," Kon says, and presses his lips to Tim's temple. "I'm glad to be back."
"Yeah." Tim smiles, content. "I'm glad, too."

Eddie, giving a presentation on his battle date plan for Buck, to show him that he loves him to the core:
The target area is only two inches wide. It's a small thermal exhaust port. The shaft leads directly to the reactor system his core, where I love him.
Bullseye, right in his buckhole.

Chapter Summary
The Resistance plans to break through the transmission blockade on Coruscant with an ancient beacon at the Jedi Temple while Poe offers to help Rey find the hidden Sith planet Exegol...
Excerpt
Poe watched as Resistance leadership filed into the briefing room, his gut churning. He shouldn’t have been nervous, not when the faces were so familiar, all the people with whom he’d spent the last couple years rebuilding since Crait, earning back the trust and confidence he’d lost in those days after the evacuation of their old base on D'Qar. He knew all of their stories by heart, the families lost and homeworlds overrun by the First Order.
Not to mention that he’d been to thousands of these over the years. Only this time, it was his show to run, with Leia looking on from the back of the room.
Once everyone had gathered around, Poe took a deep breath. It was now or never.
He hit a button, and a hologram of the First Order Capitol sprang to life over the table.
“As you know,” he started, and the whole room sat up and paid attention. "The First Order has silenced all communication between neighboring systems. The source of the blockade is a transmission jammer located deep in the First Order capitol on Coruscant, here.”
Poe hit another button, and the hologram zoomed in on a cube in the heart of the Capitol. “So far, we’ve been unable to find a weakness. No thermal exhaust port, no oscillator. In other words, they’re on to us.”
He gave the room a wry smile, and out of the corner of his eye, he caught Leia smiling at him in response from the back of the room. A tip of her head urged him on.
“While our forces are still too depleted to mount a direct assault, we think we found an alternative," Poe keyed in a new code, and the Capitol was replaced by a rendering of a five-spired building.
“Here, in the Jedi Temple, lies an analog system back from the days of the Old Republic.” Another click brought them to a closeup of the machine, an ancient contraption powered by a kyber crystal-- like a lightsaber. “A small team will activate the beacon, and we’ll be able to summon the galaxy to war.”
The hologram lit up, a beam of light bursting through the center of the temple to link with hundreds of planets above, creating a web of connections spanning the entire known galaxy.
“And when they succeed, we’ll be ready," Poe concluded.

The thermal exhaust port isn't a "plot hole"
I keep hearing people say "Rogue One was Lucasfilm spending millions of dollars to fix a plot hole". People who say that clearly don't know what a plot hole is. A plot hole isn't something that's never explained. It's basically exactly what it sounds like; something missing from the timeline of the events of the story. It's usually something that's either not set up or not resolved properly. Well the resolution is Luke blowing up the Death Star and the set-up is... literally the entire rest of the movie?? The driving action behind the events of the film is "we need to get the plans to the Rebels so they can find a weakness in the Death Star". It's not a plot hole, it's part of the plot. What did people want to happen? Did they want General Dodonna to say "Well we've analyzed the Death Star plans and it turns out the Empire is too ruthlessly efficient and competent and there are no weaknesses" and then they all get exploded? The movie never tells us who Obi-Wan's parents are, but if he didn't have parents then how was he born? 🤔🤔🤔 Checkmate, liberals

The Clone Wars: On the Wings of Keerdaks
Part 3 of the Clone Wars Bad Batch arc with my OC: Specter! this has been edited
Specter would have preferred the action and chaos of the battlefield to the quiet tension of discovering a clone thought to be dead. She could diagnose Echo would make a full recovery, but until Tech disconnected him, there wasn't much else she could do.
“Situation’s almost under control out there,” Anakin said as he ran into the control room. “How’s it going in here?”
“I’m still trying to decrypt Echo’s cerebral interface,” Tech reported, still working at the controls, “Until I do, we cannot disconnect him from this computer system.”
“How is he, Rex?” the General asked, turning to his Captain. Rex stood up while Specter watched over Echo.
“He’s too weak to walk. Very disoriented. Doesn’t even remember how he got here. He remembers being at the Citadel, but that’s about it,” the clone reported.
“Any word on the extraction squad?” Anakin asked next.
“We called it in, but no word back.”
“Well, that’s no surprise,” the Jedi grimaced. “We knew when we got into this we’d be on our own. It’s gonna get more difficult to get out of here.”
Hunter, Crosshair, and Wrecker rushed into the room as more droids advanced on them. Crosshair elbowed the door panel, causing it to short circuit. Wrecker tore off a droid’s head before it was able to pry the door open. Hunter and Crosshair began to weld the door shut.
“I thought you guys had it handled,” Specter shouted across the room.
“We were down two! What did you expect?” Wrecker replied. She only shook her head.
“Enemy approaching,” Crosshair hissed, looking at the thermals through his helmet antennae, “droids. Lot’s of ‘em.”
“How long can you hold them off?” Anakin asked.
“How long do you need?” Hunter asked back.
“Tech, how much longer?”
“Not yet. I need more time,” the clone answered.
“Cutting it awfully close today, Tech,” Specter mumbled.
Moments passed before Tech announced “we can unplug him now.” Specter helped Echo to stand up over the console and let Rex unplug the cables attached to the clone. Echo writhed in pain, eventually falling to sit again as the last cable was pulled.
“Rex?” he asked.
“What is it?” The Captain kneeled down to his friend, ready to attend to him.
“I got a big headache,” Echo joked. He glanced at Specter. “And there’s a pretty lady here, too,” he whispered. Specter heard him anyway, rolling her eyes.
“Pretty lady who’s got a name and a gun. I’d be careful around her, soldier,” she crossed her arms. “So how about you just focus on getting out of here alive?”
“Better to feel something than nothing, old buddy,” Rex said tenderly with a chuckle.
“It’s a touching reunion, guys, but we need to get out of here now,” Anakin interjected.
“There’s an exhaust vent that leads to the cooling systems right there,” Echo weakly pointed to a spot in the ceiling. A muffled clang sounded.
“They’ve breached the front door,” Hunter announced as sparks fell from the inner door. Crosshair held up his rifle at the ready. “It won’t be long before they’re through the second.” Echo had already plugged his mechanical arm into the console port.
“That should get it open,” he said. The vent indeed opened, but it was still high out of reach. The other clones put their helmets on, ready to vacate the room.
“Great. Now how do we get up there?” Crosshair said with a sneer.
“I can help with that,” Wrecker said, grabbing Hunter.
“Wait, what?” Hunter exclaimed as his squadmate positioned him. “What are you doing?” his voice lilted as he was thrown up into the vent. The Sergeant braced himself before he fell.
“A heads up would have been nice!” he shouted. Specter pointed and laughed, walking towards Wrecker.
“Where would the fun in that be, Hunt?” she teased before Wrecker threw her up too, albeit with more grace. The others had their turn, with Echo latched onto Tech’s back, and began to climb up. Anakin and Wrecker remained.
“It’s okay, Wrecker. I’ve got this,” Anakin said when the brute offered to help him up into the vent; he used his own skill in the Force to jump up. “What are you doing?” he asked when he realized Wrecker didn’t jump up and instead, ran back toward the control panel.
“I’m putting an end to Tambor’s little science experiment,” he explained, throwing explosives onto the controls and stasis chamber.
“Are you done? Time’s up,” Anakin exclaimed, just as the enemy got through the door. The Jedi used the Force to pick up the clone before a spherical droid, who had filled the room with a spider-web of electricity, could reach him. Once everyone had made it up to the corridor, they began to walk through.
“Huh. This ventilation corridor acts as a cooling system for all the computers in the facility,” Tech observed with his scanner.
“How did you know it was up here, Echo?” the General asked. Rex had Echo slung over his shoulder, helping him walk.
“Well, they got access to my memory, and I got access to the Techno Union database. All their plans, inventory, schematics… everything,” he explained.
“You mean you can find us a safe way out of here?” Rex wondered, letting his friend off his shoulder. The team stopped and waited for an answer.
“Well, there is a way, but you’re not gonna like it.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Echo was right, they didn't like it. Anakin opened the door and was immediately faced with wind and light dust. The access port had led them outside, facing another facility building connected only by a long pole.
“I don’t know about this,” Rex admitted.
“I’m telling you, there’s a landing pad on that other building,” Echo affirmed.
“So you think there’s a ship there we can steal?” Hunter asked, appearing behind them.
“Well, I hope there’s a ship we can steal.” Echo got up to follow Skywalker, who was already making his way across.
“Let’s hope this trip isn’t for nothing,” Hunter sighed, following Rex. The rest followed along.
“Oh, boy. I can’t even look,” Wrecker nervously said to himself once they had covered some distance. “Just keep walking, Tech.”
“That’s fine, but if you fall, don’t take me with you,” he shot back.
“Uh-oh. I looked,” Wrecker said with a gulp. Tech ruined his eyes. “I think I’m gonna be sick. Not gonna panic,” he said to himself.
“Hang in there, Wrecker. We’re almost there,” Specter encouraged. She was the only one who didn’t use her arms to balance herself, her modified agility allowed her to steadily walk across… though she was still careful. The door on the other side opened and droids appeared, weapons drawn.
“Turn around! Go back!” Anakin warned, igniting his lightsaber. Behind them, more droids had gathered, blocking the way they came. Everyone was stuck at the halfway point. The General deflected a blaster shot back to a droid and Tech shot at one on his side. However, Crosshair lost his balance and slipped off.
“Oh, boy,” Wrecker groaned before diving in to save him. “Gotcha!” he said, catching the sniper by his leg as he dangled off an antennae.
“Anybody got a brilliant idea?” Anakin asked.
“I do have a brilliant idea,” Tech replied.
“Can we not assume it’s brilliant until we know what it is, please?” Specter asked.
“I’m hanging here!” Wrecker reminded.
“When the locals attacked us, I recorded the creatures’ distress call,” Tech started to explain.”
“He records everything. It’s a hobby,” Hunter explained to the others.
“Which allows us to call those flying creatures to us,” Tech finished before playing the sound, very loudly. The others covered their ears and winced at the screech. While they waited, Wrecker and Crosshair shot at the approaching droids. “There’s our ride out of here!” Tech pointed to the creatures, who began to emerge from the clouds below and fly around the group.
“Now, how do we get on them?” Anakin asked.
“How else? We jump!” Tech answered. They all looked at him, appalled. Specter sighed.
“While it’s not the craziest thing we’ve done, I still wouldn’t exactly call this ‘brilliant’,” she mumbled.
“All right, I’ll go first,” the General volunteered. He jumped and landed on the back of a creature. Rex and Echo followed suit, landing on a creature together.
“I don’t wanna do this, but here I go!” Wrecker shouted before letting go of Crosshair and the antennae. They were paired up as well.
“See you later!” Specter waved goodbye to the droids before jumping with Hunter and Tech. She landed with the Sergeant while Tech ended up with Skywalker, flying away with the rest of the group. Tech looked back, however, and saw the droids had deployed wings and were now gaining on them.
“Uh, that wasn’t part of the plan,” he admitted. “Those things can fly!”
“Wow! Really? I hadn’t noticed!” Specter screamed, hanging onto Hunter. “Thank you for your expert analysis!”
“We have to shake those droids!” Anakin said, deflecting their fire with his lightsaber. “How do you steer this thing?” It seemed that the creatures didn’t like the droids tailing behind them either; they flew in a close formation before suddenly veering off away from a jutting cliff, losing the droids. Specter let out a sigh of relief.
“How you holding up, Echo?” Rex asked the clone.
“Never better, sir!” he replied with a smile.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The group returned to the Poletec’s village, the creatures instinctively landed in the open area. They were met with the chief and his guards approaching, who spoke something to Anakin as he jumped off the creature.
“Their leader is impressed we tamed the Keerdaks, but he wants to know why we returned here,” Tech translated for him.
“Tell him we had no choice. Tell him… that we wore out our welcome in Purkoll,” Anakin said. Tech went to do so, but before she could finish, blaster bolts hit the ground. Three of the droids had returned. Crosshair shot one down, another had simply crashed, but one flew away, just barely dodging Specter’s shot. She clicked her tongue in disappointment.
“Not good,” the Jedi commented. “If I know Tambor, he’ll come after us, us and the Poletecs, with everything he’s got.” The chief began to speak, rather angrily. “Tech, what’s he saying?” Anakin asked while staring up at the chief.
“He says that we have broken our word. We have brought the war to his village,” he translated, solemn.
“You’re right. Tell him he’s right, Tech,” Rex stepped up. “Tell him we didn’t plan to drag his people into war. But look what the Separatists did to one of our people!” He stepped aside and pointed towards Echo, who stepped forward as well. The Poletecs gasped. “They took away his freedom, his humanity. They tried to turn him into a machine. The Techno Union claims it’s neutral, but they have chosen sides. Now your people have to choose.” Tech took a breath before translating Rex’s speech.
“Couldn’t have said it better myself, Rex,” Skywalker complimented.
“Let’s hope it works, because I see forces coming,” Crosshair spoke up, looking over the horizon. “More than we can handle alone.”
"Ever the optimist," said Specter with a sigh.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was dark by the time the droids arrived in the village, but they all were prepared; the Poletecs lined the cliff above their village and the clones were in position. The General gave the order and Wrecker pushed another boulder into the village, tumbling over droids. The villagers cheered and charged into battle, throwing spears and riding the Keerdaks.
Crosshair and Specter had taken sniper positions and were picking off droids one by one; Wrecker was, of course, smashing through the droids, and tossed his blade to Hunter who sliced through them. Tech threw several EMPs while Rex provided coverfire. Once they had taken care of their section of droids, the group, including the Poletec chief gathered, ready to make their next move. But a droid, thought to be dead, rose up behind the chief. Crosshair shot it down and gave a salute to the group.
“Hey, that one was mine,” Specter whined.
“Go cry about it, little sister” he said.
“I hope you were talking about my height. We’re twins.”
They watched as a walker touched down and started sending devastating fire into the village. Those on the ground scrambled for cover as another wave of droids arrived. Tech followed a group of Poletecs, retreating from a squad of droids following them, and placed an EMP in their path, setting it off as the droids became within range. Crosshair, Specter, and Echo joined Anakin on his vantage point and defeated more droids that had flown into range.
“Rex, we’ve gotta take out these walkers. I’ll take one. You take the other,” the General ordered over his radio.
“Don’t worry, General. The boys and I can handle it,” the captain relayed. “Hunter, Wrecker, you’re with me.” The two followed him underneath the walker and shot relentlessly at it. Anakin took several steps back and prepared to run off the cliff.
“Still showing off, huh, General?” Echo commented.
“You know me, Echo,” he winked before running and leaping off the ledge, igniting his lightsaber as he flipped and landed on top of the walker, cutting through the metal. He slid down to the guns, cutting them off as well.
“That seemed to work. But how do we get up there?” Rex wondered… until Wrecker approached and went to grab him. “No, no. Not again!” The captain was tossed up onto the droid, catching himself on one of its blaster barrels. Hunter was more prepared to be launched and joined Rex in shooting and stabbing the “eyes” of the droid.
“This one’s all you. Don’t screw up,” Crosshair allowed Specter to take the shot at the walker’s third eye. She fired and hit her target, looking back at Crosshair.
“Don’t you ever doubt me,” she defiantly pointed at him.
The giant droid walked blindly now and Wrecker noticed the Poletec chief dragging a body supposedly out of danger, but right underneath the foot of the droid. The brute pushed away the chief and held up the leg—the ground cracked beneath him. Skywalker used his lightsaber to cut off a leg of his walker and jumped off, using the Force to push it into the other walker. They both fell on top of their own droids and the rest retreated. Wrecker helped pull Hunter and Rex from the wreckage, they saw the General and Tech talking to the chief while the twins helped Echo regroup. Hunter took off his helmet, already smiling.
“It’s hard to compete with a Jedi.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With friendly farewells and a newfound ally, General Skywalker and the Poltec chief parted ways, the native back to his own village and the team back onto the Marauder. Specter was glad the mission was over, though she couldn’t wait for the next one. She noticed neither Rex nor Echo were behind her, Echo had stopped the Captain from entering; ever so curious, she paused to listen in on their conversation.
“Rex, thanks for coming after me.”
“That’s what brothers do. I’m just sorry it took so long,” Rex admitted. “Hopefully, it’s gonna be just like old times.” Specter ducked out of view just as Rex turned to board the ship, Echo only a few steps behind.
She couldn’t help but think of Crosshair; of course they were closer than the others in Clone Force 99, but she wondered what lengths he would go and what borders he would cross to keep her safe and by his side. She wondered about her own ability too. What was her limit? Was there anything she couldn’t and wouldn’t do for him?
The jostle of the ship taking off interrupted her stream of thoughts, she’d find some other time to worry about it. Crosshair passed by, a ghost of a smirk graced his lips: she mirrored his smile.

Officer Grinch gives speeding drivers in Florida a choice: a fine or an onion (Reuters) Officer “Grinch” was in a generous spirit in the days ahead of Christmas. Colonel Lou Caputo of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office donned the Grinch costume and worked with other deputies to pull over speeding drivers on the Florida Keys Overseas Highway at Key Largo. Those who were only a little over the speed limit were given a choice by Officer Grinch. “Because it is the holiday season, if they’re just going a few miles an hour over the speed limit what we’ll do, we’ll give you a choice of the citation or an onion,” said Caputo. As well as being handed an onion, offending drivers are given a lesson on slowing down. “Even though you’re hectic, it’s busy. Slow down. Let’s keep our kids safe throughout the holiday season,” he said.
Mexico launches coast-to-coast passenger and cargo railway (Reuters) Mexico on Friday launched operations on a train line that crosses the country’s narrowest point from the Gulf coast to the Pacific Ocean, kicking off a flagship government project as the administration enters its last months in office. The “Inter-Oceanic Train,” which will carry both passengers and cargo on a three-hour trip from the coastal hub of Coatzacoalcos in Veracruz state to the Pacific port of Salina Cruz, is part of President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador’s plan to bring investment to the country’s poorer south. Officials have pitched the train line as a potential rival to the Panama Canal, which curbed operations this year due to a historic drought.
Volcano eruption dashes Iceland families’ Christmas hopes (Reuters) Families from the Icelandic town of Grindavik won’t be going home for Christmas this year even after the tremors from this week’s volcano eruption died down and the lava stopped a few miles short of their front doors. They were allowed back briefly on Thursday to collect presents and belongings and check on their properties. But authorities say it is still too dangerous for the fishing town’s 4,000 residents to move back full time.
Russia Makes Small Battlefield Gains, Increasing Pressure on Ukraine (NYT) Russian forces have scored small territorial gains along Ukraine’s eastern front in recent weeks, using their manpower advantage in grueling battles and prompting the Ukrainian authorities to consider a push to mobilize up to 500,000 soldiers to sustain the exhausting fight next year. The chief of Ukraine’s military intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, said this week that he saw no alternative to a large-scale mobilization to make up for Ukraine’s losses. And President Volodymyr Zelensky said his army chiefs had asked him to mobilize 450,000 to 500,000 men. “This is a serious number,” Mr. Zelensky said at a news conference on Tuesday, adding that a plan still had to be drawn up before he could make a decision. Although many Ukrainians have yet to be drafted into the military, the authorities are reluctant to resort to mass conscription for fear of stirring up social tensions.
China's Henan province hit by shortage of winter heating after cold wave (Reuters) Several cities in the central Chinese province of Henan are facing a winter heating supply crunch after a cold wave swept through a swathe of areas, bringing blizzards and sending temperatures to near historic lows. Persistent cold snaps have put thermal power suppliers under strain in Jiaozuo, a city in Henan, with a breakdown of heating boilers in one of the major suppliers leaving some areas in urgent need of more heat supply. The city will suspend heat supply for most businesses except essential service providers such as hospitals and senior centres to prioritise residential heat usage. However, some residential compounds will still be affected during the device maintenance period, the media reports added.
U.N. Passes Resolution on Gaza Aid but Does Not Call for ‘Suspension of Hostilities’ (NYT) The United Nations Security Council on Friday adopted a resolution that would allow more aid to reach desperate civilians in the Gaza Strip, ending nearly a week of intense diplomatic wrangling intended to prevent the United States from blocking the measure. But the resolution stopped short of past attempts to impose a cease-fire. The vote was 13 to 0, with the United States and Russia abstaining. The resolution was adopted after diplomats repeatedly delayed the vote this week and reworked the measure in heated negotiations aimed at winning support from the United States, which previously vetoed two resolutions that called for a cease-fire in the war between Israel and Hamas. The measure did not impose a legally binding cease-fire and instead called for “urgent and extended humanitarian pauses and corridors throughout the Gaza Strip for a sufficient number of days to enable full, rapid, safe and unhindered humanitarian access.” It also dropped from earlier drafts demands for the “urgent suspension of hostilities,” replacing them with more watered-down language that recommended creating “the conditions for a sustainable cessation of hostilities.”
A Times Investigation Tracked Israel’s Use of One of Its Most Destructive Bombs in South Gaza (NYT) During the first six weeks of the war in Gaza, Israel routinely used one of its biggest and most destructive bombs in areas it designated safe for civilians, according to an analysis of visual evidence by The New York Times. The video investigation focuses on the use of 2,000-pound bombs in an area of southern Gaza where Israel had ordered civilians to move for safety. While bombs of that size are used by several Western militaries, munitions experts say they are almost never dropped by U.S. forces in densely populated areas anymore. In response to questions about the bomb’s use in south Gaza, an Israeli military spokesman said in a statement to The Times that Israel’s priority was destroying Hamas and “questions of this kind will be looked into at a later stage.” The spokesman also said that the I.D.F. “takes feasible precautions to mitigate civilian harm.”

Zaku I Reddy Came from the real: MS-05B Zaku I [CLICK ME!]
Armament(s):
105mm Machine Gun • The 105mm machine gun is a standard weapon for Zaku types. It is a shell firing gun that does not require energy to be used, however, its effectiveness against heavy armor is very limited. This model used a 100-round drum magazine.
ZMP-47D/120mm Machine Gun • The 120mm machine gun is another standard weapon for Zaku types. It is a shell firing gun that does not require energy to be used, however its effectiveness against heavy armor is very limited. This model used a 100-round drum magazine.
H&L-SB21K/280mmA-N Zaku Bazooka • The 280mm Zaku Bazooka was another standard weapon that could be equipped to a Zaku types. The bazooka fired explosive rounds that were quite effective against the armor of enemy suits and battleships.
Initial Type Bazooka • This early design of the bazooka, featured a block ammo cartridge and a single exhaust port.
90mm Assault Rifle • A new assault rifle likely developed under the United Maintenance Plan as a weapon that can be used by various Zeon mobile suits in various environments.
Shotgun • A pump-action shotgun that is similar to the model used by other Zeon suits.
Heat Hawk Type 3 • An axe-like melee weapon, whose name is short for "tomahawk". Thermal energy is used to superheat the heat hawk's blade, allowing it to slice through the armor of enemy warships or suits.
G-3 Nerve Gas Grenade Launcher • These weapons launched rockets filled with G-3 nerve gas, a chemical weapon that could quickly kill.
S-Mine • S-Mines are anti-personnel shrapnel explosives based on German mines by the same name, which were used in the second World War.
Knuckle Shield • The knuckle shield is a modified Zaku II shoulder shield that mounts on the left arm. When mounted on the forearm the curve of the armor fits over the mobile suits hand. One of the modifications is the additions of three spikes placed on the plate that rests in front of the hand. These spikes make the knuckle shield an effective bashing weapon.
Shoulder Shield • Originally a regular equipment for MS-06 Zaku II series. Shoulder Shield on respective shoulders with hard points to carry Sturm Fausts and Beam Rifles.
Heat Sword • A melee weapon originally developed for the Gouf line of mobile suits. Like the Zaku's heat tomahawk the heat sword is a blade that is heated to high temperatures in order to increase it's cutting capacity. The Heat Sword was designed after a broadsword so its blade is longer than the tomahawk allowing for a greater range of attack.
MIP-B6 Cracker Grenade • Identical to those used by infantry, the cracker grenade is an explosive weapons designed to be thrown or launched by the MS and detonate after a set amount of time. The "cracker" breaks into several smaller munitions over a wide area.
Sturm Faust • An explosive weapon with a rocket propelled warhead, it was designed before the beginning of the One Year War as an anti-ship weapon. Useful both in space and under gravity, it was mainly deployed for anti-ship attacks. The Sturm Faust likely made a good anti-armor suit weapon, could be equipped with both a Sturm Faust and a more typical ranged weapon for greater versatility. As a non-guided weapon, it is difficult to hit targets with high mobility.

ive probably mentioned this before, but i want to mention that I will never forgive star wars fans for complaining about the thermal exhaust port.
Yes, it was a mistake to leave that weak spot, but that's the point. The empire practically worships power and huge weapons (because they are, among other things, nazi coded), so of course they overlooked a weakness that could only be exploited by a small insurgent force.
Yes, it's a bad decision. maybe that's because the imperial (fascist) ideology is fundamentally broken?

Pope Francis sends winter clothing, aid to earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria
Pope Francis has sent 10,000 thermal shirts to earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria, where millions are sleeping outdoors in below-freezing temperatures. As Justin McLellan reported for the Catholic News Service.
Two 7.8 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes devastated the region Feb. 6, killing more than 40,000, according to figures released Feb. 15.
According to the Vatican, the winter clothing was personally transported to the port of Naples, some 115 miles south of Rome, by Cardinal Konrad Krajewski, the papal almoner, Feb. 14.
The shirts arrived in Turkey on Feb. 17 and delivered to the Kilis refugee camp in southern Turkey, which has hosted refugees fleeing the civil war in Syria since 2012 and currently holds some 60,000 people.
The Vatican said Francis also sent an undisclosed amount of financial aid to the apostolic nunciature in Syria to support the Syrian people "already exhausted by so many years of war and now by the devastating earthquake."
Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay said that over 1 million people in Turkey are living in temporary housing facilities, such as tents and shipping containers, as of Feb. 11. The UN refugee agency, UNHCR, estimated that as many as 5.3 million people could be left homeless in Syria as a result of the earthquakes.

Also, the big-brain smart-boy decided NOT to build a fire trench for starship's thermal exhaust to be diverted away from the launch pad, thus BLASTING A FUCKING CRATER INTO THE EARTH, sending a plume cloud of toxic gas, concrete dust, and fucking BOULDERS into the air across 385 acres, including some state park land, critically damaging the launch site, igniting a 3.5-acre fire in a state park to the south, and endangering the residents of the nearby town of Port Isabel, Texas.
If they had just built the fucking flame trench, which is specifically designed to redirect the rocket blast energy and heat away from the launch pad, AND the water-deluge system, which helps further reduce energy blast around the launch site during liftoff, none of that shit would have fucking happened.
Yeah, I'm still fucking pissed off about that and @nasa I hope you reevaluate your contract with that dumbass.
i cannot emphasize enough how much elon musk is very much not killing twitter on purpose. he is not that smart. you are giving him too much credit. he makes cars that melt. a few weeks ago a billionaire imploded several other billionaires and himself in the ocean because of this same brand of born-rich brainworms. destroying a social media site because of a petty, long held grudge over his paypal co-founders not letting him rename that to "X" is not a stretch.

Double Stage Vacuum Pump (VP245) 5CFM
Vacuum pumps are an essential tool in a variety of industries, playing a critical role in applications that require the removal of gases and air from sealed environments. One of the most efficient and widely used types of vacuum pumps is the double-stage vacuum pump, and the VP45 model exemplifies superior performance, reliability, and advanced technology. From HVAC and refrigeration maintenance to laboratory applications, this pump stands out for its high vacuum capabilities. In this article, we’ll dive into the details of the double-stage vacuum pump VP45, its working mechanism, applications, and pricing, particularly in the Indian market.
What is Double Stage Vacuum Pump ?
A double-stage vacuum pump, like the VP45, operates in two phases to achieve higher vacuum levels. Unlike single-stage pumps that only compress air once, a double-stage vacuum pump compresses the air twice, resulting in a deeper vacuum. This deeper vacuum level is essential for processes that demand high precision, such as air conditioning (AC) system maintenance, refrigeration system evacuation, and scientific research applications.
The VP45 model is particularly notable for its advanced design, offering greater vacuum efficiency and reliability for professionals. Its double-stage design makes it capable of reaching low pressure levels (high vacuum), making it suitable for applications that single-stage pumps may not be able to handle.
Key Features of the Double Stage Vacuum Pump VP 245 ?
The VP45 double-stage vacuum pump comes equipped with several features that make it an ideal tool for both professionals and hobbyists in industries such as HVAC, refrigeration, and laboratories. Here are some of the standout features:
Two-Stage Operation: The two-stage mechanism provides a higher level of vacuum precision compared to single-stage pumps, making the VP45 more suitable for demanding applications.
Robust Construction: The VP45 is built from high-quality materials designed to withstand the rigors of daily use. Its heavy-duty construction ensures durability and longevity.
Efficient Cooling System: To prevent overheating, the VP45 is equipped with an efficient cooling system that keeps the pump functioning optimally during extended use.
Oil-Mist Filter: The VP45 includes an oil-mist filter to reduce oil mist emissions, keeping your work environment cleaner and more efficient.
Low Noise Operation: Unlike many industrial machines, the VP45 operates quietly, allowing for a less disruptive working environment.
Thermal Protection: The pump is equipped with a thermal protection system that prevents it from overheating, ensuring long-lasting performance even in high-demand situations.
Double Stage Vacuum Pump Working ?
Understanding how a double-stage vacuum pump works is essential for grasping its advantages over single-stage models. Here's how it operates:
Stage One: In the first stage of the process, the pump reduces the atmospheric pressure in the system by compressing the air from the vacuum chamber. This stage works similarly to a single-stage vacuum pump and reaches a basic vacuum level by expelling the air through an exhaust port.
Stage Two: The second stage kicks in to further reduce the pressure. This stage compresses the remaining air, removing it completely to create a much deeper vacuum. By performing this second compression, the VP45 can achieve much lower pressure levels, allowing it to reach higher vacuums than single-stage pumps.
Oil Lubrication: The pump uses oil as a lubricant and sealant, which plays a crucial role in reducing wear and tear on the moving parts while maintaining an airtight seal. This ensures smooth, long-lasting performance.
Rotary Vane Mechanism: The VP45 features a rotary vane design where rotating vanes trap air in compartments. As the rotor spins, the vanes push the air towards the exhaust, where it’s expelled. This process repeats continuously, but in two stages, to achieve a more complete vacuum.
Appilcations of Double Stage Vacuum Pumps
Double-stage vacuum pumps like the VP45 have a broad range of applications, thanks to their ability to achieve high levels of vacuum. Here are some of the key industries and tasks that benefit from the use of a double-stage vacuum pump:
1. Air Conditioning (AC) and Refrigeration
In air conditioning (AC) systems, a vacuum pump is used to remove moisture and air from the refrigerant lines before charging the system with refrigerant gas. This process ensures the system runs efficiently and prevents contamination that can damage components over time. The double-stage vacuum pump for AC systems ensures that the system is evacuated to the necessary vacuum depth, eliminating moisture and air.
2. HVAC Systems
For HVAC professionals, the VP45 is an invaluable tool. It ensures that the refrigerant system is properly evacuated, which is critical for the overall health and efficiency of the system. A properly vacuumed system reduces the risk of leaks, corrosion, and inefficient operation.
3. Laboratories
In laboratories, vacuum pumps are used for a variety of tasks, such as vacuum filtration, freeze drying, and creating controlled environments for experiments. The VP45’s ability to achieve deeper vacuums makes it ideal for these applications.
4. Industrial Applications
Many industrial applications, such as food packaging, require a vacuum environment. The VP45 can be used to create a vacuum that preserves food products by removing air, thus extending their shelf life.
5. Medical Equipment
Double-stage vacuum pumps are also used in medical equipment, such as autoclaves, to ensure sterile environments by removing air and steam from medical devices during sterilization processes.
2 Stage Vacuum Pump Price in India
The price of a 2-stage vacuum pump in India varies depending on the brand, features, and capacity. For the VP45, prices generally range depending on the retailer and any additional features or accessories included.
Higher-end models, which may come with advanced features such as digital displays, enhanced oil filtration systems, or additional capacity, are typically priced at the upper end of this range. Lower-end models with fewer features but still offering the essential double-stage mechanism will be closer to the starting price.
Factor Influencing the price of a Double Stage-Vacuum Pump

Key methods to improve the heat dissipation efficiency of outdoor LED displays
When LED displays are used outdoors for long periods of time, heat dissipation becomes a key issue. Heat dissipation not only affects the life of the display, but may also lead to reduced display effects and even safety hazards. The following are key methods to improve the heat dissipation efficiency of outdoor LED displays:
Comprehensive utilization of heat transfer mechanism: The heat dissipation of LED display screen can be carried out through thermal conduction, convection and radiation. Therefore, when designing a heat dissipation system, it is necessary to comprehensively consider these heat transfer mechanisms and select an appropriate heat dissipation method. What should you consider when customizing LED digital screens?
Optimize ventilation system design: A good ventilation system is the basis for effective heat dissipation. When designing a ventilation system, attention should be paid to the design of the air ducts. Try to use straight pipes to transport air and avoid sharp turns and curved pipes. Ventilation ducts should be sealed as much as possible to avoid airflow short circuits.
Reasonable layout of the air inlet and outlet: The air inlet should be set on the lower side of the box, but should not be too low to prevent debris and water from entering the box; the exhaust port should be set on the upper side close to the box. At the same time, ensure that the air inlet and exhaust ports are far away to avoid reuse of cooling air. Let’s take you through 3 common LED transparent screen boxes.
Strengthen radiator design: The radiator is the core component of the cooling system. It should be ensured that the radiator design can make full use of the cooling air without affecting the air flow. The direction of the radiator tooth grooves should be parallel to the wind direction and should not block the air path.
Reasonable configuration of fans or air conditioners: Configuring fans or air conditioners in outdoor LED displays can effectively enhance the heat dissipation function. However, you need to pay attention to the installation position of the fan and the distance between the air inlet and outlet and the obstruction to avoid affecting the heat dissipation effect. What are the supporting equipment for LED display screens?
Regular maintenance and upkeep: In addition to design considerations, regular maintenance and upkeep are also key to ensuring long-term stable operation of LED displays. Regularly clean debris from the air inlet and exhaust vents, and check the working status of the ventilation system to discover and solve heat dissipation problems in a timely manner. Do you know the pre-maintenance and post-maintenance of LED screens?
Through the comprehensive application of the above methods, the heat dissipation efficiency of the outdoor LED display can be effectively improved, its service life can be extended, and its normal operation and safety can be ensured.
